Infowars Staff Testimony EXPOSES Alex Jones’ Lies & Hypocrisy During Sandy Hook Trial — Transcript

3. 0:04sandy hook massacre has demonstrated
4. 0:06just how little infowars cares about
5. 0:09delivering the truth to its own audience
6. 0:11and they'll tell the most outrageous
7. 0:14lies to turn a profit at least that's
8. 0:16what we're learning from the testimony
9. 0:18that we're hearing from
10. 0:20alex jones's own staffers and we're
11. 0:22going to show you those highlights in
12. 0:23just a moment but before we do it's
13. 0:26really important for you to understand
14. 0:27the context because alex jones by
15. 0:29default has already been
16. 0:31found guilty of defaming these parents
17. 0:35by claiming that they're crisis actors
18. 0:38that the sandy hook uh massacre was
19. 0:41really a false flag operation in order
20. 0:43to take guns away from law-abiding
21. 0:46americans
22. 0:47obviously those were all lies obviously
23. 0:50that caused a lot of damage to these
24. 0:52families who were then targeted harassed
25. 0:55and threatened by alex jones and and his
26. 0:58audience members and so neil
27. 1:01heslin and scarlett lewis the parents of
28. 1:04jesse lewis the six-year-old who died at
29. 1:06sandy hook are requesting 150 million
30. 1:09dollars in compensatory damages for
31. 1:12years of torment and threats they
32. 1:14endured in the aftermath of jones's lies
33. 1:16about them on infowars they are suing
34. 1:19jones in the first of three trials in
35. 1:22which juries will decide how much he
36. 1:25must pay relatives of 10 people killed
37. 1:28in the december 14 2012 mass shooting at
38. 1:31sandy hook elementary school in newtown
39. 1:33connecticut
40. 1:35now the reason why the trial is
41. 1:37happening is because the jury needs to
42. 1:38decide how much money will be awarded to
43. 1:41the parents right again he's already
44. 1:43been found guilty of defamation this is
45. 1:45a civil uh civil suit um and here's what
46. 1:49we know so far testimony so far shows
47. 1:51just how little infowars really cares
48. 1:53about the truth in fact uh infowars
49. 1:56staffers testified that they did not
50. 1:57check easily available facts about sandy
51. 2:00hook or much else before broadcasting
52. 2:03their incendiary assertions one good
53. 2:06example is one of the hosts who did
54. 2:09testify his name is owen
55. 2:11schroer and he admits as much in this
56. 2:14next clip let's watch
57. 2:17i was
58. 2:18just covering a story that was given to
59. 2:20me you take care of yourself it didn't
60. 2:22matter right
61. 2:23no i didn't say that okay
62. 2:26you were handed the story while you were
63. 2:27on air live
64. 2:28you ran with it right yes
65. 2:33you did
66. 2:34zero
67. 2:35to determine if it is accurate right
68. 2:38correct you did no betting of the story
69. 2:40at all correct correct you did nothing
70. 2:42to determine if it was a joke or a pair
71. 2:46right
72. 2:47there are video clips in it
73. 2:49you didn't watch them right
74. 2:51before you played them correct
75. 2:55i mean farron nothing like getting into
76. 2:57an info war with information that you
77. 2:59haven't even bothered to verify
78. 3:02and his his callousness you know the
79. 3:04body language of him sitting there just
80. 3:07that's right
81. 3:09yeah
82. 3:10yeah
83. 3:11i mean just they still don't care
84. 3:13they don't
85. 3:14part of the reason is because i i still
86. 3:16don't even think that they
87. 3:19think that they have to i mean you know
88. 3:20they've filed the bankruptcy they're
89. 3:22gonna try to shield all the money and
90. 3:25prevent you know the families from
91. 3:26getting what they deserve from this but
92. 3:29just such
93. 3:31i i can't even say the word
94. 3:34but just the the kind of human beings
95. 3:37these are
96. 3:38you know and again like you said that's
97. 3:40just one clip there's so much more
98. 3:41coming but
99. 3:43reading all about this what is
100. 3:44transpiring at this trial it is
101. 3:46difficult
102. 3:47to
103. 3:48contain the anger and the rage
104. 3:51that that that we feel
105. 3:54when these people just tell oh yeah well
106. 3:56this is what we did
107. 3:58yeah families had to move you know six
108. 4:00seven eight i think one of them had to
109. 4:02move nine times because jones fanatics
110. 4:04continued to find their address and show
111. 4:06up at their home and harass them and
112. 4:09these are parents who buried their
113. 4:11children
114. 4:12at christmas time yeah i mean burying a
115. 4:15a child is is difficult enough as it is
116. 4:18if you have to take christmas presents
117. 4:21that were already wrapped under a tree
118. 4:23and remove those because that child was
119. 4:24just murdered in school
120. 4:26i i mean
121. 4:28it's something
122. 4:30that that's almost too difficult to
123. 4:32explain i i had to
124. 4:34um do something similar with with my
125. 4:36sister um who had a child pass
126. 4:39oh my god that's the hardest thing i've
127. 4:41ever had to do in my life ever ever
128. 4:43and so many of those families went
129. 4:45through it and that's just one of the
130. 4:47reasons why the whole sandy hook thing
131. 4:49just changed me as a person
132. 4:51uh not in a good way either just
133. 4:54so angry at what we've become and then
134. 4:57to watch these
135. 4:59people
136. 5:01do this in the trial not care still not
137. 5:04care 10 years later don't care about it
138. 5:07there's no excuse for being such a
139. 5:10disgusting human being but that's what
140. 5:12they are just the lowest level you can
141. 5:14get as a person
142. 5:16the
143. 5:17sociopathic nature of
144. 5:21the testimony
145. 5:22really blows me away
146. 5:24because you have to have sociopathic
147. 5:27tendencies
148. 5:28to feel entirely comfortable
149. 5:31demonizing
150. 5:33lying about and targeting parents whose
151. 5:36little children young children as young
152. 5:38as five six years old were slaughtered
153. 5:41in a mass shooting
154. 5:43i mean you have to have like zero
155. 5:45emotions zero soul you have to be a
156. 5:46hundred percent self-interested and
157. 5:49obsessed with profit and that's really
158. 5:51what we're starting to see i mean i i've
159. 5:53always assumed it based on the kind of
160. 5:55coverage that they did uh you know on
161. 5:57the story and other stories by the way
162. 5:59but you see it play out during the
163. 6:02testimony and just to fill in some more
164. 6:04blanks before we go to more videos
165. 6:06scarlett lewis who was one of the
166. 6:08parents uh targeted using internal
167. 6:10emails and testimony from infowars
168. 6:12staffers showed how jones and his top i
169. 6:15don't know why he calls them lieutenants
170. 6:16so there are other hosts on the on the
171. 6:18network ignored multiple warnings that
172. 6:21continuing to broadcast sandy hook lies
173. 6:23would harm the survivors and land
174. 6:25infowars in legal trouble
175. 6:27in a videotaped deposition a former
176. 6:30employee rob jacobson
177. 6:32said he repeatedly delivered these
178. 6:34warnings to infowars staffers only to be
179. 6:37received with laughter and joke so going
180. 6:39back to the point i'm trying to make
181. 6:40here about how sociopathic you need to
182. 6:42be
183. 6:43uh in order to carry out these
184. 6:45disgusting lies on your programming now
185. 6:48other damning testimony uh came from
186. 6:52another employee over at uh infowars
187. 6:54named daria karpova dario karpova is
188. 6:58infowars's corporate representative and
189. 7:00she advanced the same bogus claims
190. 7:03refusing
191. 7:04even to rule out the possibility that
192. 7:07the trial itself
193. 7:09was a staged event
194. 7:11she cast jones as the victim worrying
195. 7:13over his health and saying the sandy
196. 7:16hook lawsuits have cost him millions
197. 7:18poor poor alex jones and here's a little
198. 7:20taste of more of the cover that she
199. 7:22tried to provide for alex jones and his
200. 7:25disgusting behavior
201. 7:27again alex jones was still researching
202. 7:31things and with the contradictions in
203. 7:33the media that was thrown in that time
204. 7:35in the mainstream media
205. 7:38he thought that it was his duty to
206. 7:39investigate especially when it involves
207. 7:41something as
208. 7:42tragic as the deaths of children
209. 7:46that shouldn't be used in say a
210. 7:48government operation can you look at the
211. 7:50title of that april first video for me
212. 7:52you see do you see it on the page
213. 7:54yes okay the title of that video is not
214. 7:57there are contradictions that raise
215. 8:00questions about what happened in san
216. 8:01diego the title of that video if i'm
217. 8:04right is crisis actors used that
218. 8:07is that right correct
219. 8:09but oftentimes titles just are meant to
220. 8:13grab audience's attention and then later
221. 8:14in the video they get into details just
222. 8:16like all of the national media does
223. 8:21mask off mask off
224. 8:23okay and like the thing that's amazing
225. 8:25to me faren is just how
226. 8:28how stupid these staffers really are
227. 8:31right because she's a corporate
228. 8:32representative for for infowars and it's
229. 8:35like yeah i mean it's just clickbait you
230. 8:36know it's clickbait everyone does click
231. 8:38bait look click bait is annoying and
232. 8:41it's an unfortunate necessary evil in
233. 8:44media today i don't like it but here's
234. 8:46the difference okay
235. 8:48you might have a title that's attention
236. 8:50grabbing
237. 8:51but you don't get to lie in the context
238. 8:54of that title or that headline certainly
239. 8:56not in a way that's defamatory to the
240. 8:59subject that you're covering in that
241. 9:01piece or in that video
242. 9:04so
243. 9:04if you look at the johnny depp amber
244. 9:07heard trial defamation trial uh the
245. 9:10focus was on the headline of the opinion
246. 9:13piece
247. 9:14or or the the op-ed that amber heard
248. 9:17wrote
249. 9:19even in a title of something if you're
250. 9:22being defamatory you could be held
251. 9:24legally liable for defamation and so
252. 9:28she's just she's just not very bright
253. 9:30and she's just like yeah it's just
254. 9:31clickbait i mean yeah we
255. 9:33lied
256. 9:34and assassinated the characters of these
257. 9:37parents for profit but doesn't everyone
258. 9:40do it no no everyone doesn't do that
259. 9:43there's a difference
260. 9:44yeah and i love how she's like and
261. 9:46mainstream media does it all the time no
262. 9:48they don't because they know that if
263. 9:50they do even fox news understands if we
264. 9:52do this we're going to be held
265. 9:54accountable you know i've gotten letters
266. 9:57uh as so many others who do this too you
267. 9:59know saying if you don't change this
268. 10:01title
269. 10:03you know we we could sue you for
270. 10:04defamation and it's the simple
271. 10:06difference of like saying that somebody
272. 10:07said something versus saying they
273. 10:09implied it
274. 10:11so yeah you can get sued for a title you
275. 10:13know just as you could lying about
276. 10:15something so there's a world of
277. 10:17difference in a click bait like alex
278. 10:19jones had his worst day in court ever
279. 10:21versus alex jones ate a baby on live tv
280. 10:25and then you get into the heart of it
281. 10:26and say well he didn't actually eat a
282. 10:28baby no you've already made the
283. 10:30defamatory claim
284. 10:32and therefore nothing else that you say
285. 10:35matters doesn't matter if you say that
286. 10:36you're kidding about it
287. 10:39if somebody doesn't click on it to get
288. 10:41the full context you have defamed them
289. 10:44and it doesn't matter and that's what
290. 10:46you know i i don't know i'm assuming
291. 10:49that woman there was was was younger she
292. 10:51looks very young
293. 10:52and so maybe she's just naive maybe
294. 10:54she's not familiar with it maybe she's
295. 10:56inexperienced or
296. 10:58maybe she's just as callous as the rest
297. 11:01of
298. 11:02them and simply doesn't care i mean i
299. 11:04didn't see
300. 11:05any emotion on her face i saw no
301. 11:08change in her demeanor just like yeah i
302. 11:10mean what we did it
303. 11:12what
304. 11:14they think they're the victims it's
305. 11:16amazing i mean you have the posner
306. 11:18family moving a dozen times because of
307. 11:21the
308. 11:22credible death threats they were getting
309. 11:24from members of the infowars audience
310. 11:26but no they think they're the victims
311. 11:28because they have to stand trial for the
312. 11:30defamatory content they produced and
313. 11:33broadcasted for years by the way so it's
314. 11:36not even just oh they had one video
315. 11:39title that was defamatory but the
316. 11:41content of the video was actually very
317. 11:43clear and accurate no everything that
318. 11:45they were doing was incredibly
319. 11:47defamatory at the heart of the trial is
320. 11:50a june 2017 episode of nbc's sunday
321. 11:53night with megyn kelly in which uh kelly
322. 11:56profiled jones in the broadcast sandy
323. 11:59hook pair neil heslin
324. 12:01protested jones's denial of the shooting
325. 12:04he recalled his last moments with jesse
326. 12:07his son saying quote i held my son with
327. 12:09a bullet hole through his head
328. 12:12but uh the infowars folks decided to
329. 12:16deny that that even happened afterwards
330. 12:18jones and owen schroyer the the guy you
331. 12:21heard from in the first video um aired
332. 12:25shows implying that heslin had lied
333. 12:28will there be a clarification from
334. 12:30heslin or megyn kelly schroyer said on
335. 12:33infowars i wouldn't hold your breath
336. 12:36nonetheless by the way schroyer thinks
337. 12:37he's the victim uh he was quoted as
338. 12:39saying this i'm very upset that this
339. 12:41trial continues
340. 12:43it has had a tremendous negative impact
341. 12:46on my career and livelihood owen good
342. 12:50you are not fit to do what you're doing
343. 12:52for your career you're presenting
344. 12:54yourself as a truth-teller as some sort
345. 12:56of journalist and you're intentionally
346. 12:59defaming
347. 13:00victims of a mass shooting individuals
348. 13:02who lost their little kids in a mass
349. 13:04shooting their children were slaughtered
350. 13:07in that mass shooting and you decided to
351. 13:08further victimize them with your lies
352. 13:11you are not fit for this line of work
353. 13:14period and and before i get to you um
354. 13:17and your thoughts farin i wanted to go
355. 13:18to one more video because uh daria
356. 13:21i think says something darya karpova
357. 13:23says something um pretty enlightening in
358. 13:25this next clip and it shows you the kind
359. 13:27of thought process
360. 13:29that uh takes place in the production
361. 13:31process over at infowars what is truth
362. 13:34to them well let's watch
363. 13:36on may 9th 2014 you see that
364. 13:39yes okay
365. 13:41that was an episode called revealed
366. 13:43sandy hook truth exposed
367. 13:46yes and infowars wants its viewers to
368. 13:49have faith that they can get the truth
369. 13:51from infowars correct
370. 13:57it's up to the art we always rely we
371. 14:00always
372. 14:01we think our audience is smart and
373. 14:03we rely on them to figure out themselves
374. 14:06what they think is true and what's not
375. 14:08but we present our opinion
376. 14:11well the truth right that's what you're
377. 14:13telling your audience to give them is
378. 14:14the truth sure everybody has their own
379. 14:16definition
380. 14:20everyone's got their own definition of
381. 14:22truth
382. 14:23right farrin truth is subjective
383. 14:26right it's you know
384. 14:27there is no such thing as truth it's
385. 14:29what you want it to be that's the
386. 14:31thought process over at infowars
387. 14:33yeah yeah that is exactly the message
388. 14:36that she is sending out there that hey
389. 14:38there's no truth truth is whatever you
390. 14:40want truth to be a and that is obviously
391. 14:45it's not even worthwhile for me to say
392. 14:47that's not how the world because we know
393. 14:48that
394. 14:49but
395. 14:50i i will say just watching these people
396. 14:54knowing what's happened and reading all
397. 14:56of this i just i hope
398. 14:59i hope this trial goes horribly for them
399. 15:03like i want this to be the most
400. 15:04miserable experience that they have ever
401. 15:07had i want them to lose everything that
402. 15:10they've ever had uh everything that
403. 15:12they've gained every every dollar
404. 15:14they've ever earned i want it all gone
405. 15:17like i i truly wish nothing but the
406. 15:20worst
407. 15:21results from this trial for any one of
408. 15:24those infowars people that that's just
409. 15:26that's what they deserve they absolutely
410. 15:28deserve that and
411. 15:30so hopefully hopefully
412. 15:32that's what the jury will do here and
413. 15:34and i just i can't imagine anybody on
414. 15:36that jury hearing these things
415. 15:38you know and thinking no they've
416. 15:41suffered enough hopefully that is not
417. 15:43the case but then again
418. 15:45you never know and you never know
419. 15:48right and uh how exactly do they make
420. 15:51their profits uh by slang in all sorts
421. 15:53of weird pills uh in
422. 15:56the content
423. 15:58in the context of their deceptive
424. 16:00broadcast in the
425. 16:02context of their defamatory content and
426. 16:05um final video for you all uh owen
427. 16:09schroyer was specifically asked about
428. 16:11the kinds of pills
429. 16:13that sold uh through infowars and i
430. 16:16really appreciated this interaction
431. 16:19let's take a quick look

436. 16:33it's a new one but i guess it's a pill

441. 16:45do you have any idea of where that stuff
442. 16:47sourced from

447. 17:06tested to see if it's effective or any

461. 17:34viewers sick by selling them
462. 17:37pills that come from who knows where
463. 17:40and does who knows what

466. 17:45is not in fact approved by the fda i
467. 17:48just can't believe that that's such a
468. 17:50uh
469. 17:51that's such a reputable brand insta hard
470. 17:54i i had no idea
471. 17:57uh but yeah i i would actually really
472. 18:00like more clarification i wish that
473. 18:02lawyer would have gone on like really
474. 18:03can you tell us your experience
475. 18:06with these particular supplements that
476. 18:07you guys are hawking out there to
477. 18:10you know the most ridiculous audience
478. 18:11imaginable uh look
479. 18:13grifters liars and i think sociopaths do
480. 18:16put it uh that that's what we're dealing
481. 18:19with on this side and i i just wish this
482. 18:22would open more people's eyes to what is
483. 18:25really happening at that network but i
484. 18:26don't think it will with that particular
485. 18:28audience

487. 18:31they're being misled uh possibly getting
488. 18:34sick from the supplements they're
489. 18:35they're buying from this programming it
490. 18:37is what it is uh but all we can hope for
491. 18:40is that the justice system
492. 18:43works in this case as i've said alex
493. 18:45jones has already been found guilty of
494. 18:47defamation the question is what will he
495. 18:49have to pay out in damages and this is
496. 18:52the first of three trials where a jury
497. 18:54will determine what he owes uh so we'll
498. 18:57find out what the outcome of this
499. 18:58particular trial will be by the end of
500. 19:00the week we're guessing and uh we'll
501. 19:03stay on this story and fill you in as we
