3. 0:05recognition that every citizen in
4. 0:07America has a right to a fundamental
5. 0:10right to confront his confu accusers and
6. 0:14all I'm asking for the Illinois state
7. 0:16senate to do is to allow me to call
8. 0:18witnesses let me call my Witnesses let
9. 0:21me bring in evidence that will show that
10. 0:24I've done nothing wrong what are you
11. 0:25afraid of uh if they allow for a process
12. 0:29that uh
13. 0:30uh requires that they have to prove up a
14. 0:32case and then allows me to disprove what
15. 0:35they might try to prove then the truth
16. 0:37will come out and it will show that I've
17. 0:39done nothing wrong and I've done a lot
18. 0:41of things right for the people of
19. 0:42Illinois all I ask is a chance to be
20. 0:45able to do that let me bring Witnesses
21. 0:47let me bring evidence let me have the
22. 0:48same basic right as every citizen in
23. 0:50America and if they can deny a governor
24. 0:53who elected was elected twice by the
25. 0:55people of Illinois that fundamental
26. 0:57right then they can deny that to you and
27. 0:59any other citizen in America and it sets
28. 1:01a dangerous precedent for future
29. 1:03governors in Illinois because what
30. 1:05governor will be willing to take on the
31. 1:07legislature to protect the people from
32. 1:09for example tax
33. 1:10increases uh if though that Governor is
34. 1:14afraid that he or she can be thrown out
35. 1:17of office without giving the right to
36. 1:19confront accusations however false they
37. 1:21may be um that would throw him or her
38. 1:23out of
39. 1:25office
