- 0:11sworth I'm the managing director of
- 0:13easel European Association for the study
- 0:16of the liver and we're in London for
- 0:18among other things ilc which will be
- 0:21down the road and obviously today's
- 0:22impact project here in Calverton last
- 0:25week we had some equally illustrious
- 0:27professors who went to speak to medical
- 0:29students at the UCL medical school to
- 0:33see what we can do to encourage those
- 0:35people no longer kids but I think
- 0:38they're in their fourth or fifth year of
- 0:39med school and to encourage them to
- 0:41consider hepatology as a as a
- 0:44professional specialization so today
- 0:47this was our first step into doing
- 0:49things Beyond The Four Walls of our
- 0:51Congress during the Congress time and
- 0:53the idea is that when we when we leave
- 0:55in a week's time that we will have we
- 0:58will have had some positive impact on
- 1:00the local Society local kids local
- 1:03population in general so that we can
- 1:05actually say we have some kind of Legacy
- 1:07some kind of impact my name is Kosh
- 1:09agawal I'm a consultant hepatologist and
- 1:11Transplant physician at The Institute of
- 1:14studies Kings College Hospital in London
- 1:16so it's been a nice morning
- 1:18um so we had a 20 to 30 minute
- 1:21discussion where I talked about my job
- 1:25and what the liver is and how you can
- 1:26look after your liver and then we had a
- 1:28lot of questions around how the liver
- 1:30works and and then we the the kids are
- 1:34going into their classrooms and they're
- 1:37putting a post together or some piece of
- 1:39art together and really to get home
- 1:44those messages and to have an
- 1:46understanding around how to look after
- 1:48your liver and what we've talked about
- 1:50today
- 1:51um so my name is Miss abiola I'm a
- 1:53teacher here year six teacher at
- 1:55Calverton primary school and um today if
- 1:58I'm being completely honest it's we've
- 2:00been quite lucky I would say because
- 2:02right now obviously we've never had a
- 2:05workshop such as this especially to
- 2:07touch on something so important and I
- 2:09think something that we've all sort of
- 2:11underestimated as well especially when
- 2:13it comes to the liver with eating
- 2:14healthy obviously you need to choose
- 2:16vegetables over obviously like takeaway
- 2:18and fast food yep so this is the post
- 2:21that I made and uh this is the baby
- 2:25liver wearing liver nappies you need to
- 2:28have one of your five a day vegetables
- 2:30fruit look after your liver ingest
- 2:33healthy food violent attacks of sugar
- 2:36leave her in a bad mood everyone knows
- 2:38she's like an engine run at chemicals in
- 2:41the blood system younger people are
- 2:44often at the stage where they're still
- 2:46habit-forming and and the habits of
- 2:50exercise and a healthy diet at this age
- 2:54I think can make that messaging to make
- 2:56a massive difference and I hope it has
- 2:58been fun and educational for the kids
- 3:01today we've been looking forward to this
- 3:04since since I started in the job which
- 3:06was at the end of 2019 originally we
- 3:09were meant to be here in London in April
- 3:112020 and then we had to put it off we
- 3:14had to postpone it then we had to go to
- 3:15digital so finally we're back here in
- 3:18person and hopefully tomorrow there'll
- 3:20be five six thousand people joining us
- 3:22and a few more thousand online so yeah
- 3:24we're excited
