  9. 0:23utilizing all the things I learned about
  10. 0:25creative writing and to kind of like
  11. 0:27boost my creativity and write my own
  12. 0:29stories, poems and hopefully I think
  13. 0:34learners today will be pumped up and
  14. 0:37their creativity boosted as they watch
  15. 0:40our show. So uh what do we expect for uh
  16. 0:44this week sir Jerry? Okay. Uh the focus
  17. 0:48for this week will be about imagery,
  18. 0:52diction, figures of speech and specific
  19. 0:54experiences to evoke meaningful
  20. 0:57responses from the readers.
  21. 1:00Yes sir. This is actually very
  22. 1:02important. No, I think uh on the get-go
  23. 1:06this is such a great topic to start the
  24. 1:08semester with. We need to know like
  25. 1:11imagery, diction, uh figurative speech
  26. 1:14and all of these basic things. But if
  27. 1:17they started writing their own creative
  28. 1:19work, they will have like a a good
  29. 1:22foundation.
  30. 1:25Sir Tutor Jerry.
  31. 1:30Yes.
  32. 1:37Isabella.

  42. 2:06It's an exciting afternoon sir.
  43. 2:08Okay. So, uh what have we got here?
  44. 2:12Learners, uh after this uh module, the

  46. 2:18circuit
  47. 2:20to use imagery, diction, figures of
  48. 2:23speech and specific experiences to evoke
  49. 2:26meaningful responses uh from readers. So
  50. 2:29basically uh these uh elements of uh
  51. 2:32creative writing will evoke some
  52. 2:35feelings some emotions from your
  53. 2:37readers. And what about the next one sir
  54. 2:40uh tutor Jerry? Aside from that of
  55. 2:42course they should be uh able to analyze
  56. 2:45the imagery diction figures of spits and
  57. 2:49specific experiences of the specific
  58. 2:51literary pieces maybe used on sentences.
  59. 2:56Yes sure Jerry. Uh, and I'm excited. Are

  80. 3:56Students, you may drop your answers on
  81. 3:59the comment section or yes,
  82. 4:01you can also write it in your answer

  127. 6:10all right sir. Yes are seeing foods.
  128. 6:12Maybe they are in front of uh the the
  129. 6:15dining table.
  130. 6:16Okay. And from Neil Mo uh he's singing a
  131. 6:20lamp. Okay.
  132. 6:22A lamp.
  133. 6:23So good.
  134. 6:24Basically this students are uh using
  135. 6:27very well their uh visual senses.
  136. 6:32Yes.
  137. 6:32Okay. So let's have the second one sir.
  138. 6:35Yes. Go ahead. Sir Jerry,
  139. 6:38what was the first sound you heard upon
  140. 6:41waking up today?
  141. 6:43I hope you could uh
  142. 6:51Okay. Is it like the uh what do you call
  143. 6:54this? Is it like the cockadoodle dues of
  144. 6:57the roosters outside your window? Is it
  145. 7:00like the cows, the the cars? What is it?
  146. 7:03We want to know. Type down your answers
  147. 7:06in the comment section.
  148. 7:08The sound,
  149. 7:10sir. According to Sir Jun again, he is
  150. 7:13hearing the loud thunder. Maybe it's
  151. 7:16raining in there, sir. I know.
  152. 7:19Yeah. John.
  153. 7:24All right. Yeah.
  154. 7:25Yeah. And then according also to
  155. 7:30to Aubrey Miles Pascal Bonao,
  156. 7:33the first thing that he heard upon this
  157. 7:35morning is the yell of his mother.
  158. 7:40Maybe he woke up uh later because of
  159. 7:43playing.
  160. 7:45Okay.
  161. 7:45Luis Dale Dlo.
  162. 7:47You have they have exciting answers.
  163. 7:49Boring. Yeah, she they they they do they
  164. 7:52really have exciting answers. So let's
  165. 7:55jump to the third one.
  166. 7:58All right.
  167. 8:02All right. For the third question, guys,
  168. 8:05what smell
  169. 8:07you off the beach? So remember, we
  170. 8:10haven't been on the beach for a very
  171. 8:13long time.
  172. 8:14But what do you remember? What smells
  173. 8:17associate you to the beach? All right,
  174. 8:21type down your drop your answers on the
  175. 8:23comment section. as fast as possible.
  176. 8:26Yes, please
  177. 8:39for for me uh Sir Jerry one uh smell
  178. 8:43they are having hard time in answering
  179. 8:45sir.
  180. 8:46Yeah
  181. 8:47that's okay.
  182. 8:51Yeah, the smell of the ocean.
  183. 8:54The grilled fish according to Mr. Agabau
  184. 8:58nailonabo.
  185. 9:01Okay.
  186. 9:02What else? Dear students, the smell of
  187. 9:06the foods
  188. 9:07like uh like calamar
  189. 9:09the barbecue according to Kelvin Galano.
  190. 9:11So good.
  191. 9:14All right.
  192. 9:16Okay, sir. Can we move on to the fourth
  193. 9:18one?
  194. 9:19Yes, please.
  195. 9:25would you mind to read?
  196. 9:26Yes, please. Yes. Okay. So, number four
  197. 9:29is, what does a lasagna taste like? All
  198. 9:33right. So, have if you have eaten a
  199. 9:36lasagna before, what is the taste of a
  200. 9:39lasagna? If you want to tell someone
  201. 9:42what a lasagna tastes like, what would
  202. 9:45you say? All right, type down your
  203. 9:47answers on the comments section, please.
  204. 9:49Go.
  205. 9:50[Music]
  206. 9:52I believe they could this could be
  207. 9:54answered really by those who are found
  208. 9:57in uh eating in uh at the granite food
  209. 10:01chain and
  210. 10:02yes sir know what I love a lasagna too.
  211. 10:06So
  212. 10:08all right.
  213. 10:08Okay. So according to Max Maxi,
  214. 10:11it's cheesy, sir. It's cheesy.
  215. 10:15Cheesy. That's a very good answer. Oh,
  216. 10:18it's uh sweet
  217. 10:20according to uh Surjun Limbo.
  218. 10:23Lubo.
  219. 10:26Oh, Neil Lenon said tomato sauce and Rod
  220. 10:31said it tastes like heaven. They're
  221. 10:34pretty right.
  222. 10:36Okay, Sir Jerry. Now,
  223. 10:39why do we ask our students to kind of
  224. 10:42like uh tell us what they see, what they
  225. 10:45smell, what they taste, and
  226. 10:49they actually had already eaten.
  227. 10:53Yes. Yes.
  228. 10:55Asking for
  229. 10:57Yes, that's correct. Okay.
  230. 11:00Yeah. Yes, sir.
  231. 11:01So, why do we ask these questions?
  232. 11:03Right. So what we need to know uh dear
  233. 11:05students?
  234. 11:07Yeah
  235. 11:09sir.
  236. 11:09Okay. So the the the thing is we want to
  237. 11:12ask these questions because it's
  238. 11:14directly connected to our first topic uh
  239. 11:17that they need to master when they want
  240. 11:19to write creatively. It's all about
  241. 11:21imagery and imagery refers to the mental
  242. 11:26pictures that readers experience when
  243. 11:29reading literature. Uh you know that
  244. 11:31experience guys when you're like reading
  245. 11:34and you can feel like there's a movie
  246. 11:36playing in your head that's what we call
  247. 11:39mental mental pictures and incl and it
  248. 11:41includes your five senses. So sir Jerry
  249. 11:46what are these five senses anyways?
  250. 11:50Mhm.
  251. 11:51Okay sir.
  252. 11:53So basically the five senses are the
  253. 11:57following. First is the auditory which
  254. 12:01describes what we hear of course the
  255. 12:04noise the the silence around the music
  256. 12:09and everything that the the the
  257. 12:12ear uh hears. Okay. While the other one
  258. 12:17is tactile.
  259. 12:20This thing is what we feel or touch just
  260. 12:25like uh the texture
  261. 12:28uh temperature of something it's is it
  262. 12:31hot or cold etc. Okay.
  263. 12:35And then we also have the all factory
  264. 12:39which has something to do with what what
  265. 12:44we smell.
  266. 12:50The fragrances
  267. 13:00the
  268. 13:07Yes. Yeah. Otter.
  269. 13:12And then we have the visual,
  270. 13:15right, sir. So Jerry, the visual is uh
  271. 13:19is basically
  272. 13:20especially when you see
  273. 13:22when you visit the market and then you
  274. 13:23wanted to buy something just just like
  275. 13:25fish or whatever and then you would like
  276. 13:28to get.
  277. 13:30Yes sir. Jerry,
  278. 13:31we also have the the visual.
  279. 13:33Yeah, the visual. Yes.
  280. 13:34Which actually uh thing.
  281. 13:41Okay. So when you when you say visual,
  282. 13:43it basically uh is everything that you
  283. 13:46see, what your eyes perceive. And
  284. 13:49honestly guys, visual is most of the
  285. 13:52time one of the the the mostly used
  286. 13:56sense in imagery. If you can build like
  287. 13:59an environment or a picture with uh with
  288. 14:04like good visuals, with good words, then
  289. 14:07you can actually make our readers feel
  290. 14:10like they're in the same place that you
  291. 14:12are. And what is what is the the next
  292. 14:15one, Sir Jerry?
  293. 14:22Oh, I think you're on mute, Sir Jerry.
  294. 14:32Wow. All right. I think you're on mute,
  295. 14:34sir Jerry. All right. You know, guys,
  296. 14:38the tech these days are kind of hard,
  297. 14:42but hey,
  298. 14:44it will be fine. All right, Sir Jerry.
  299. 14:47So, I think you're on mute.
  300. 14:58Okay. So the last one is the gustatory
  301. 15:01or basically uh taste the sense of
  302. 15:04taste. Uh it could be like anything that
  303. 15:07that has like taste could be sour,
  304. 15:10sweet, salty and all these kinds of
  305. 15:13things. It could also be like more
  306. 15:15exquisite tastes uh like uh like
  307. 15:18succulent or crunchy or uh or like
  308. 15:23juicy. Those are actually taste too that
  309. 15:26people are familiar with and when they
  310. 15:28when they uh then when they uh hear hear
  311. 15:32it, they know exactly what it tastes
  312. 15:34like. Kind of like that. All right. Sir
  313. 15:37Jerry is still still on mute. Okay. So,
  314. 15:40let's All right.
  315. 15:42So kind of just remember these guys. All
  316. 15:45right. So we have the auditory, the
  317. 15:47tactile, the alpha, visual, and the
  318. 15:51gustatory. Okay. All right.
  319. 15:57All right. Sir Jerry.
  320. 16:02Oh, okay.
  321. 16:04All right. So, Sir Jerry, I think your
  322. 16:06microphone is like I don't know
  323. 16:14Okay. All right, learners.
  324. 16:17How are you guys doing so far?
  325. 16:22Wow, we have 111
  326. 16:26uh viewers right now. And and we
  327. 16:29appreciate you guys. Thank you for
  328. 16:30watching us. Uh Sergio and I are are
  329. 16:35happy that you guys are here with us.
  330. 16:37Okay. If you have any questions, feel
  331. 16:39free to type down your questions in the
  332. 16:42comments section, okay? And we'll try to
  333. 16:45to answer your questions as much as we
  334. 16:48can. Okay.
  335. 16:51All right.
  336. 16:55Sir Jerry, maybe while we're uh Okay.
  337. 16:58Can you try to speak, sir Jerry?
  338. 17:03All right.
  339. 17:06Now, this one is a little bit of an
  340. 17:08exercise. So, for example, here's a
  341. 17:10sentence. The tree bark was rough
  342. 17:13against her skin. Now, the word rough
  343. 17:17here is actually a clue that tells us
  344. 17:21that this is about the sense of what?
  345. 17:25What do you think? Rough. The sense of
  346. 17:31Yes. The sense of touch or so this is
  347. 17:34tactile. Tactile. Okay. Tactile. Very
  348. 17:38good.
  349. 17:40Next.
  350. 17:44All right.
  351. 17:46All right. That's tactile. All right,
  352. 17:48guys.
  353. 17:51Okay. Yeah. So, uh, Oi Aliyah, you're
  354. 17:55correct. That is correct. Tactile is
  355. 17:57correct. Very good. We say hi also to
  356. 18:01Alona Eileen Dulawan. Thank you for
  357. 18:04watching.
  358. 18:05Uh for Jonah May Siatric,
  359. 18:08thank you for watching as well. Uh
  360. 18:11Cherry Anne Bumanglag, thank you for
  361. 18:13watching. And uh Zyrazilla Chris
  362. 18:16Kristobel as well, thank you for for
  363. 18:18watching. Okay. Uh Sir Jerry,
  364. 18:22um
  365. 18:25Okay.
  366. 18:28All right.
  367. 18:35Okay. Sir Jerry, can you uh want to call
  368. 18:39this? Can you
  369. 18:42can you put on the next slide, please?
  370. 18:50Okay.
  371. 18:55All right. So maybe sir Jerry and I will
  372. 18:58be uh like we'll be swapping controls of
  373. 19:01our PowerPoint so that I could uh
  374. 19:03control the PowerPoint.
  375. 19:13All right, that's tactile. Now the next
  376. 19:16example. All right, guys. What do you
  377. 19:18think here? The sentence is the siren
  378. 19:21turned into a whisper as it ended.
  379. 19:26What do you think?
  380. 19:29Is it tactile, alactory,
  381. 19:32auditory, visual or uh gustatory? What
  382. 19:37do you guys think? All right.
  383. 19:40Okay.
  384. 19:43If your answer
  385. 19:45is auditory,
  386. 19:47okay, then you are correct. Good job
  387. 19:51Louise Dale Dloano
  388. 19:53and Edisonen Buguina
  389. 19:56and Jame Larry Anetta as well and
  390. 19:59Nestlin as well. You guys are you guys
  391. 20:01are so good.
  392. 20:04Okay. Yes. The sense of hearing uh
  393. 20:07Angelica Medico said good job. Okay. All
  394. 20:12right.
  395. 20:13Now let's go to our next uh example.
  396. 20:21Let's go to our next example.
  397. 20:24All right. Now, by the way, guys, uh
  398. 20:27these uh like senses are great if you
  399. 20:32want to write your own stories as well.
  400. 20:34You need you kind of need to pay
  401. 20:35attention because this is how you write.
  402. 20:36You write for the senses. The next is
  403. 20:39glittering white. The blanket of snow
  404. 20:43covered everything in sight. What do you
  405. 20:47think? What is the imagery used here?
  406. 20:52Okay. All right.

  416. 21:30Okay. Very good, guys.
  417. 21:34Correct. That was visual. All right. The
  418. 21:37glittering white is actually such a good
  419. 21:39uh like like tip uh like clue, right?
  420. 21:44For a blanket of snow. That is visual.
  421. 21:46Very good. Good job. Join Cherry Anne,
  422. 21:49Joselyn Se, and more Kevin. Nice. Good
  423. 21:52job. Visual.

  425. 21:58sweet and familiar. What do you think?
  426. 22:03All right. Tasted sweet and familiar.
  427. 22:11All right. Well, if you guys answered

  433. 22:29Now this one
  434. 22:33this one. She walked into the abandoned
  435. 22:37house and caught the scent of mothballs.
  436. 22:41She walked into the abandoned house and
  437. 22:44caught the scent of mothballs.
  438. 22:48What do you think?
  439. 22:50All right.
  440. 22:53Okay.

  447. 23:17share screens and then there you go.
  448. 23:22Okay,

  450. 23:28well, you are correct, too. Good job,
  451. 23:30guys. Good job. So, yes, Bianca,

  457. 23:48Now I'll give you guys about like maybe
  458. 23:5130 seconds to do this. Just three uh
  459. 23:55items. Okay. So on your answer sheets or
  460. 23:59in the comment section, write down one,
  461. 24:02two, three. Then answer which sense did
  462. 24:06we use in the following sentences. Okay,
  463. 24:09I'll be waiting for your answers guys in
  464. 24:12the comment section. Okay.
  465. 24:20All right. Waiting. Waiting.
  466. 24:32Okay,
  467. 24:36so number one, it was dark and dim in
  468. 24:38the forest. Number two, he whiffed the
  469. 24:41aroma of brewed coffee. Such a good
  470. 24:45aroma, by the way. The juicy orange is
  471. 24:49very cold and sweet. All right, can you
  472. 24:53guys uh write down your answers in the
  473. 24:56comments section? Yes, Seek El Dukal
  474. 24:59said number one is visual. That's
  475. 25:02correct. Good job.
  476. 25:05Okay. Angelica Medico Ingo said the
  477. 25:08first is visual, then the second is all
  478. 25:11factory and third is the gustator. Very
  479. 25:14good. Wow. Correct to Cherylon Globin
  480. 25:18Edison and Louise. Okay. All right. Sir
  481. 25:22Jerry, are are you are you there? Are
  482. 25:25are are you back now?
  483. 25:31Okay. Are you back? Back back again.
  484. 25:36Okay. Wow. Chesca so good. Sack Joy Kim
  485. 25:42very good. Mark Nino very good as well.
  486. 25:45All right.
  487. 25:49Okay.
  488. 25:52Okay guys. So what's
  489. 25:56that sir kit and sir Jerry are having
  490. 26:00technical problems right
  491. 26:03now. So that's why I think the way to um
  492. 26:06actually have this online tutorial right
  493. 26:09now. So this is children Nova today
  494. 26:12subbing for them while we are waiting
  495. 26:14for them. So let me try to read some of
  496. 26:16your comments right here because earlier
  497. 26:17I think you were very interactive during
  498. 26:20the lesson of sir Jerry and of course
  499. 26:22tutor kit as well. So we got here
  500. 26:24different students from different
  501. 26:26schools. We have Angela Fe Magunda all
  502. 26:28the way from Jade Ali Badbad National
  503. 26:30High School and okay and also she wanted
  504. 26:34to greet Katherine C. Gabihan school
  505. 26:36principal and Glenda Pira as well. Hi,
  506. 26:40good afternoon all the way from
  507. 26:42Alibadbud National High School. And we
  508. 26:45also got there a lot of students tuning
  509. 26:47in. We have Dixie Britz Lano, we have
  510. 26:49Aldren Yasto, and we also got here Alexa
  511. 26:52Galieres. Good afternoon, everyone. All
  512. 26:56right. So,
  513. 26:58okay. How about now? Is my camera okay?
  514. 27:03All right. Okay. Good afternoon. Okay.
  515. 27:06So, hope I I hope I got the PPT of Sir
  516. 27:09Kit and um Sir Jerry, but then um yeah,
  517. 27:13I think that um I was still on the way
  518. 27:16to download it, but there was some
  519. 27:18technical problems as well on my end.
  520. 27:20Well, anyway, let's try to continue the
  521. 27:22greetings um all the way from our
  522. 27:26comment section. Of course, we got here
  523. 27:28Luam Vioam and we also got here Mary
  524. 27:32Chris Kawatit. We have Reni Rosales
  525. 27:35Martinez. We have Alexa Galades. We have
  526. 27:37Lorenzo Ladet Domingo. And we also got
  527. 27:41here um our new students coming in the
  528. 27:45class of Athea
  529. 27:47Ala Talan.
  530. 27:50Okay. Uh Sir Match, could we also try to
  531. 27:54um do a quick commercial break because I
  532. 27:56think there is a brown out. Let me try
  533. 27:58to secure their PPT first and then I'll
  534. 28:00go back to the live. We go. I don't know
  535. 28:03if you can hear me now. Hi everyone. Can
  536. 28:06you hear me? Moloy, are you here?
  537. 28:11All right. So, I'm not really sure if
  538. 28:14you can hear me now. Is my mic
  539. 28:16All right.
  540. 28:17Is my mic okay now? Can you hear me?
  541. 28:19Yes, perfectly. Can you hear me, Tutor?
  542. 28:21No.
  543. 28:22All right, I can hear you too, Tutor
  544. 28:23Floyd. We are back on the live. And of
  545. 28:26course, I guess uh there was just a
  546. 28:28slight technical problem on Sir Jerry's
  547. 28:31and Sir Kit's end. Right now, there is a
  548. 28:33brown out in Sir Kit's place. And as the
  549. 28:36Sergier, there was, you know, a
  550. 28:37technical problem on his end, but that's
  551. 28:39all right because we are here to back
  552. 28:41you up. And that's how amazing the
  553. 28:43Etolay level up is, right, Tutor Floyd?
  554. 28:46Totally. Totally. Tutor Nova. In fact, I
  555. 28:48was surprised. But still, we're here and
  556. 28:50we're here for our friends, the senior
  557. 28:52high school English team. Go, go, go.
  558. 28:55That's right. So earlier M Floyd before
  559. 28:57the cut off we were actually discussing
  560. 28:59about the review on the census. This is
  561. 29:02the slide where insert kit and sir Jerry
  562. 29:04stopped. So earlier Sir Kit gave our
  563. 29:07students he gave our students actually
  564. 29:0930 seconds to try to think about the
  565. 29:12answer with these three questions and I
  566. 29:14I think that commercial break helped our
  567. 29:17students process what will be the
  568. 29:19possible answer to these questions.
  569. 29:21Right tutor Floyd?
  570. 29:23Great. Great. That'd be great. So were
  571. 29:25we able to go over these three items
  572. 29:27already? Tutor Nova,
  573. 29:29not yet. So that's why we are going to
  574. 29:31reveal what are the answers to these
  575. 29:34questions right here. We ready? I think
  576. 29:36our students are ready. Let's go here.
  577. 29:39All right.
  578. 29:39All right. So the number one tutor
  579. 29:42Floyd, could you do the honor?
  580. 29:43Okay. So we have dark and dim. So
  581. 29:46definitely this gives us the idea that
  582. 29:48we're tapping the sense of seeing or
  583. 29:50sense of sight in this case. So visual,
  584. 29:53it's very obvious. How about the second
  585. 29:55one, Cher Nova?
  586. 29:56Second one is of course we have the word
  587. 29:58aroma. And the word aroma actually has
  588. 30:01this sense of smell. Something that we
  589. 30:03know something smells good or smells
  590. 30:05bad, right? So that's aroma, sense of
  591. 30:07smell. Now let's go number three. Tutor
  592. 30:08Floyd.
  593. 30:09Okay, we have juicy, cold, sweet. Oh,
  594. 30:13juicy ham. Maybe
  595. 30:16cold the weather.
  596. 30:18Yes. and sweet definitely. Um let's say
  597. 30:22um the the recent fruit salad that I
  598. 30:24made. So that's something sweet. So
  599. 30:26perfect.
  600. 30:28Okay. So I hope you guys will have that
  601. 30:30that one in the future. So sense of
  602. 30:32taste and or touch. Okay.
  603. 30:35That's right. And I guess our students
  604. 30:36right here, Tutor Floyd, were able to
  605. 30:39identify what are the correct senses
  606. 30:41that these words uh determine, right? So
  607. 30:44it's very important as a writer tutor
  608. 30:46Floyd that they know how to identify the
  609. 30:48different senses that are present in
  610. 30:50their writing. Right tutor Floyd?
  611. 30:53Definitely. Definitely. So let's go over
  612. 30:55to the next slide then. Okay.
  613. 30:58Okay.
  614. 30:59Now we have here the word which is
  615. 31:01addiction. The word addiction or the
  616. 31:03term itself refers to the choice and use
  617. 31:05of words and phrases in speech or in
  618. 31:09writing. It could be formal or informal.
  619. 31:12We often hear this word right diction
  620. 31:14somehow when we listen to speeches right
  621. 31:16Mfly and then us being the audience we
  622. 31:19somehow say or have this remark oo I
  623. 31:22kind of like his diction now diction
  624. 31:26actually refers to the choice of words
  625. 31:28not how you inunciate or pronounce a
  626. 31:30word sometimes confused when they use
  627. 31:33the term diction
  628. 31:37pronunciation or enunciation word but
  629. 31:39diction actually refers to choice or how
  630. 31:42you use the words.
  631. 31:44Okay. So that's clear mga when you say
  632. 31:47dictional
  633. 31:49word choice ganuni.
  634. 31:53All right. Okay. And we would not
  635. 31:56address a stranger in the same way as a
  636. 31:58good friend. And we would not address a
  637. 32:01boss in that same way as a child. So
  638. 32:04let's have a quick um role playing here.
  639. 32:07Tutor Floyd. Um this is diction right.
  640. 32:10So let's say I am a stranger to you and
  641. 32:14um we don't know each other. So how are
  642. 32:16you going to approach me using like
  643. 32:19applying the diction here?
  644. 32:21Could we try? Could we be an artista
  645. 32:23today? Tutor Floyd.
  646. 32:24Fine, I'll try. Go ahead.
  647. 32:27In three, two, one, action.
  648. 32:29Okay. Um excuse me, miss. Um can I get
  649. 32:32that can you get that sugar or can you
  650. 32:35pass on that sugar for me?
  651. 32:37Uh okay, sure. Um, here you go.
  652. 32:41Thanks. Thanks. Thank you. All right.
  653. 32:43Now, that's how you use diction in
  654. 32:46talking to a stranger. So, how about you
  655. 32:48Floy? Let's say we are good friends and
  656. 32:51how are you going to approach me if we
  657. 32:53are friends and let's see about that.
  658. 32:56Okay.
  659. 32:56Action.
  660. 32:58Nova.
  661. 33:00Oh, hey. Oh my gosh.
  662. 33:02Come on. Pass it on.
  663. 33:03Oh, all right. You like sugar, huh? Your
  664. 33:05sweet tooth.
  665. 33:06Here you go.
  666. 33:08All right. So, could you identify what's
  667. 33:11the difference between how Tutorfloy
  668. 33:14approached me as a stranger and how
  669. 33:16Tutorfoy approached me as a good friend
  670. 33:18of hers? Could you try to tell us on the
  671. 33:21comment section if there was a
  672. 33:23distinction or not?
  673. 33:25All right, let's check. Okay, checking
  674. 33:28the comment section now. So far, I think
  675. 33:30they're still typing.
  676. 33:32They are still processing it, I guess.
  677. 33:35Well, anyway, while we wait for their
  678. 33:38interactions or reactions in the comment
  679. 33:39section, let's go to this next slide.
  680. 33:42Okay.
  681. 33:44All right. Since we mentioned earlier
  682. 33:46that diction could be formal diction or
  683. 33:48informal diction, let's tackle what is a
  684. 33:50formal diction. So, formal diction, we
  685. 33:53have an example sentence here. Her
  686. 33:55terrible temper won't endear her to many
  687. 33:59if she refuses to control her outbursts.
  688. 34:02Now that is a formal diction. Now how do
  689. 34:05we say it in informal way? We can
  690. 34:08transform it this way. If she doesn't
  691. 34:10stop yelling, she'll lose all her
  692. 34:13friends.
  693. 34:14Oh,
  694. 34:15all right. Very direct, right?
  695. 34:17Okay. Sweet and short. Okay. So, Tutor
  696. 34:20Nova, we have here a comment already.
  697. 34:22This is from Edison.
  698. 34:24Begina or Begina. I'm so sorry if I
  699. 34:27mispronounced your name, but you know
  700. 34:28what? I love your first name. It's
  701. 34:30unique. Edison. Yeah. So the uh Edison
  702. 34:33here mentions that we distinguish formal
  703. 34:36from informal diction in terms of the
  704. 34:39the tone that we use and even the
  705. 34:41approach. So formal diction definitely
  706. 34:44formal and then for informal diction
  707. 34:47we're having that casual tone
  708. 34:50use of words. So that's good. Thank you.
  709. 34:53Here's another go ahead t Nova.
  710. 34:56I can't really see it because I'm only
  711. 34:57using one monitor. Could you do that?
  712. 35:00No worries. I'll take it away. So we
  713. 35:02have here from Seek El Dukal. Thank you
  714. 35:04so much. When talking to a stranger, she
  715. 35:07or he is talking formally and when in
  716. 35:10her friend she or he is talking
  717. 35:13casually. Ooh. All right. All right.
  718. 35:16That is why tutor Floyd we always hear
  719. 35:18the saying be careful with your words
  720. 35:21and that actually applies to your choice
  721. 35:24of words as well and how you use it. So
  722. 35:26that applies to formal diction or
  723. 35:28informal diction.
  724. 35:30All right. So choice of words from doc
  725. 35:33morales. Good. Now always remember when
  726. 35:36we use words we we just don't think
  727. 35:39about the words that we are about to
  728. 35:41say. We're actually responding basing on
  729. 35:43the context we're at. Is it a formal
  730. 35:46one, informal one, public one, private
  731. 35:49one? And then you also check your
  732. 35:50audience. Are they the ones who are good
  733. 35:53or somehow
  734. 35:57set of words.
  735. 36:00All right. Well, go ahead. Just in time,
  736. 36:05Trud Floyd, because our time right now,
  737. 36:07checking on the clock is 5:21. And I
  738. 36:10think uh our dear learners right here,
  739. 36:12we were able to stop here on the formal
  740. 36:15diction and informal diction. And I know
  741. 36:17for sure that they were able to really
  742. 36:19have a full grasp about the discussion
  743. 36:22of tutor Jerry and tutor kits discussion
  744. 36:24today. And I think there is more to come
  745. 36:27for the next week's tutorial. And they
  746. 36:30need to tune in every 4:40 in the
  747. 36:32afternoon up until 5:20 in the
  748. 36:34afternoon. So you can see tutor Jerry
  749. 36:37and tutor kit once again on the next
  750. 36:39Tuesday.
  751. 36:40Right. Yes. Yes. Yes. So, thank you so
  752. 36:43much, Shooter Nova, for having me here
  753. 36:45today, and I can't wait to see more of
  754. 36:48their lessons and creative writing. Bye,
  755. 36:51everyone.
  756. 36:51Bye, everyone. Thank you so much. See
  757. 36:53you next time.
