  1. 0:00My name is Alex Kumar. I'm a music
  2. 0:02lawyer helping artists close six and
  3. 0:05seven figure deals.
  4. 0:06>> Okay.
  5. 0:07>> Last year we did $487,000
  6. 0:10after doing Cash Cow.
  7. 0:11>> Yeah, we I was going to say we we did a
  8. 0:13Cash Cow episode. So you did 478 470
  9. 0:1747k. That's what you did. And what are
  10. 0:19you at now?
  11. 0:21>> Right now we are doing 30k the current
  12. 0:25revenue run rate.
  13. 0:26>> That's monthly. Okay, what were you
  14. 0:27doing when you got on the when you got
  15. 0:29on the show?
  16. 0:31>> 83k.
  17. 0:32>> Monthly?
  18. 0:33>> grew by $400,000
  19. 0:36in 1 year.
  20. 0:36>> Oh, great. I'm glad my advice worked.
  21. 0:39That's good.
  22. 0:40So 80k to 480k. So that was worthwhile
  23. 0:43to come on
  24. 0:45the episode.
  25. 0:46>> [laughter]
  26. 0:47>> Okay, fantastic. I'm glad we six-xed.
  27. 0:50All right, so
  28. 0:51what do we do from here?
  29. 0:53So what's the problem?
  30. 0:54>> The
  31. 0:55The thing that is stopping me right now
  32. 0:57is qualified leads.
  33. 0:59Um
  34. 1:00The The serviceable addressable market
  35. 1:03this year is going to be 100,000 people.
  36. 1:05Um and I'm looking to build
  37. 1:07a way to get to those people that have,
  38. 1:11you know, life offers
  39. 1:13at the right moment at the right time so
  40. 1:15they can hire me to help them close
  41. 1:17those deals.
  42. 1:20>> Okay. Um
  43. 1:22there's honestly a load of static
  44. 1:23on my side. It's very hard to understand
  45. 1:25you. It's not on you. So what do you
  46. 1:28need help with?
  47. 1:29Just say it in as few words as you can.
  48. 1:34>> Qualified leads.
  49. 1:35>> Okay, you need more leads. Got it. Okay.
  50. 1:37So you need more leads. Now if you
  51. 1:38doubled or tripled your lead flow right
  52. 1:40now, would you be able to handle it?
  53. 1:42>> Yes.
  54. 1:42>> Okay, got it. So what are you doing
  55. 1:43right now to get more leads?
  56. 1:46>> Content.
  57. 1:47>> Content. Okay, got it.
  58. 1:50And I think what I told you to do was to
  59. 1:52send them over to Instagram and then DM
  60. 1:54and do a DM funnel. Is that what you're
  61. 1:55doing?
  62. 1:58>> We're doing that.
  63. 1:59>> Wonderful. Okay. So,
  64. 2:01um
  65. 2:03if you just need more leads, it's going
  66. 2:04to be
  67. 2:05it's going to be one of two things that
  68. 2:07you can control on your own. Um option
  69. 2:10one is you start running meta ads.
  70. 2:14>> Okay.
  71. 2:14>> It's option one. Option two is you just
  72. 2:16make more content. And here's the
  73. 2:18beautiful part. You can do both of those
  74. 2:19things and they accomplish the same
  75. 2:20objective.
  76. 2:21So, if you if you crank up your content
  77. 2:24and then make all of the best performers
  78. 2:25your ads, then your ads and your ad
  79. 2:28creative Sorry, your content and your
  80. 2:29ads creative can merge, which by the
  81. 2:31way, for anyone who's listening to this,
  82. 2:32is the future of how ads are working.
  83. 2:35Like the algorithm for ads and the
  84. 2:36algorithm for content are the same.
  85. 2:38Like it has merged. And if you think
  86. 2:39about what what the platform wants, if
  87. 2:41the platform could ever every single
  88. 2:43content creator making ads and the ads
  89. 2:44are just more content, then that means
  90. 2:46the entire platform would be quote
  91. 2:48ad-free and still generating revenue,
  92. 2:49which is just a superior experience for
  93. 2:50the users, which is exactly what the
  94. 2:52platform wants. And so, how many pieces
  95. 2:55of content are you making right now um
  96. 2:57that are
  97. 2:59Like what are you making per week right
  98. 3:00now?
  99. 3:02>> Right now, 12 to 15 on Instagram.
  100. 3:05>> Okay. So, two a day?
  101. 3:08>> Two or three a day, yeah. Okay.
  102. 3:10One to two long on YouTube.
  103. 3:13>> Per week?
  104. 3:14>> Uh yes, per week and five shorts per
  105. 3:17week.
  106. 3:19>> Okay.
  107. 3:20Um this works. And the five shorts, are
  108. 3:22those different than the two per day you
  109. 3:23have on on meta?
  110. 3:27>> Yes. Well, one of them I do two posts on
  111. 3:30Instagram and
  112. 3:32and the same short is the is the
  113. 3:34carousel on Instagram. So, I cross post
  114. 3:37them.
  115. 3:37>> Yeah, got it. Okay. So, I think So, big
  116. 3:40picture, I mean, you could obviously
  117. 3:41make more content, but I mean, I think
  118. 3:43your content cadence right now is, you
  119. 3:45know, is adequate. What you're probably
  120. 3:47going to have to tighten the screws on
  121. 3:48is the quality of the content.
  122. 3:51So, how much research are you doing on
  123. 3:53the hooks, on the scripting? Are Are
  124. 3:54they scripted or how are they How are
  125. 3:55you making them right now?
  126. 3:57The shorts.
  127. 3:58>> Uh yeah, I'm I'm doing the
  128. 4:01the content uh create the hooks and then
  129. 4:04next step or stories and do carousel
  130. 4:08uh and infographic.
  131. 4:09>> Okay. Do you have any kind of big
  132. 4:11accomplishment that you've had happen?
  133. 4:15>> Yeah, we helped last year we helped
  134. 4:18artists goes over $5 million.
  135. 4:20>> Okay, great. So, I would put that front
  136. 4:23and center.
  137. 4:24Um and I'll probably include it in every
  138. 4:26YouTube video that you have. So, when
  139. 4:27you introduce yourself to edify you, I'd
  140. 4:30say, "Hey, you know, I'm Alex O'Mar. I,
  141. 4:32you know, I do this for this type of
  142. 4:33person and we've done projects as small
  143. 4:36as this all the way to projects as big
  144. 4:37as this. Our most recent thing that we
  145. 4:39did last year for $5 million. And so, in
  146. 4:41this video I'm going to XYZ show you how
  147. 4:43blah blah blah blah blah blah works,
  148. 4:44right?" Um that's Those are small tweaks
  149. 4:47that are going to improve it, but that's
  150. 4:49going to like elevate the brand overall.
  151. 4:51But right now it's like we just need to
  152. 4:52grow the brand from a top end, you know,
  153. 4:54content perspective and ads is just
  154. 4:57something that you can do to scoop up um
  155. 4:59more people
  156. 5:01out of the audience you already have.
  157. 5:02But the big thing is that you just need
  158. 5:04to hit your advertising with an atomic
  159. 5:05bomb. Like that's what it is. Like
  160. 5:07that's what you need to do. Now, we
  161. 5:09could look at pricing stuff, but I think
  162. 5:10I already looked at pricing the last
  163. 5:11time we spoke. So, we fixed the business
  164. 5:14model. We 6x'd it, so that was good. Um
  165. 5:16what are your margins right now?
  166. 5:19>> 80% is the profit margin.
  167. 5:22>> 80%? Love that.
  168. 5:24>> Yeah.
  169. 5:25>> Yeah. So, um
  170. 5:27Yeah, we just need to make a shitload
  171. 5:28more content and make better content and
  172. 5:30then run the best content as ads. Like
  173. 5:32that's it. You have a front end thing.
  174. 5:33Like you can double take twice the
  175. 5:35number of customers, right? I think I
  176. 5:36said that earlier.
  177. 5:37>> Yeah.
  178. 5:37>> Yeah. That's it. It's a It's a pure
  179. 5:39demand thing. And we already fixed the
  180. 5:40conversion process and we fixed the
  181. 5:42pricing. So, you just need to do more.
  182. 5:43So, your focus, first 4 hours of every
  183. 5:46day, goes towards this and then you can
  184. 5:48start your day.
  185. 5:52So, content and ads.
  186. 5:55Also, they they hear the same thing I'm
  187. 5:56hearing. Yeah. Go ahead.
  188. 6:24I mean, if you want, but I would say
  189. 6:25like I mean, if you want you can go like
  190. 6:27once a month and make sure it's a good
  191. 6:28one and see make sure you like can
  192. 6:30solicit the audience for business.
  193. 6:32But by and large, content is going to
  194. 6:34give you a lot more distribution.
  195. 6:35So, branding is going to come from the
  196. 6:38association. So, if you want to make
  197. 6:39associations with people who are bigger
  198. 6:40than you, that's fine.
  199. 6:43Um I'm not against that.
  200. 6:44Uh the big thing's going to matter the
  201. 6:46most though is that you have helped
  202. 6:47people like them get what they want.
  203. 6:51Okay?
  204. 6:54Yeah.
  205. 6:56First 4 hours of every day goes towards
  206. 6:58making more content and then turning
  207. 7:00that content into ads. That's it. You
  208. 7:01don't need to change anything else.
  209. 7:02You're at 500k, that's you go to 3 or 4
  210. 7:04million and then we we check back in
  211. 7:06then. All right?
  212. 7:09Rock and roll, Lex. You're my
  213. 7:10congratulations on your 6x.
  214. 7:12>> [laughter]
  215. 7:13>> All right, brother. Talk soon.
  216. 7:15If you are a business owner and you are
  217. 7:17not growing as fast as you'd like, I'd
  218. 7:18like to give you a free gift. So, my
  219. 7:20team and I put together the $100 million
  220. 7:23scaling road map, which is basically 200
  221. 7:24hours of us looking over all the
  222. 7:26portfolio companies we've had and what
  223. 7:28stages of growth they went through and
  224. 7:30more importantly, where they got stuck
  225. 7:31and how they got past it. And so, we
  226. 7:33broke it in these 10 stages and we made
  227. 7:35this little kind of quiz thing where if
  228. 7:36you put in your business information,
  229. 7:38it'll tell you where you're at and the
  230. 7:39most most part for you, what to do for
  231. 7:41each of the functions of the business
  232. 7:42across product, marketing, sales,
  233. 7:44customer success, recruiting, IT, human
  234. 7:46resources, and finance. And so, no
  235. 7:48matter what you're struggling with,
  236. 7:49someone else has already struggled with
  237. 7:51it and solved it. And so, I'd like to
  238. 7:53give you this thing absolutely free. You
  239. 7:54can go to acquisition.com/roadmap,
  240. 7:56plug in your business information, and
  241. 7:57if you want us to actually help you
  242. 8:00deconstruct the business and you're
  243. 8:01trying to scale, we'd love to help you
  244. 8:03out. On the thank you page, you can book
  245. 8:04a call with my team, and we will
  246. 8:07look at the business, see if we can
  247. 8:08help, and if we can, we'll invite you
  248. 8:09out to Vegas, and we'll do this in
  249. 8:11person live.
