  1. 0:00What's up? It's Thrax. If you've been
  2. 0:02trading and you've been losing money or
  3. 0:05if you're switching strategies all the
  4. 0:07time looking for the new entry model,
  5. 0:10you're trying a different method, you're
  6. 0:12buying new courses, you're looking for
  7. 0:14the right person to copy their trades or
  8. 0:18you're trying to join a new Discord or
  9. 0:20whatever and nothing's working.
  10. 0:25I need you to hear this.
  11. 0:27It's not the strategy in most cases,
  12. 0:31it's you. You're the reason why it's not
  13. 0:34working.
  14. 0:36And that doesn't necessarily mean you
  15. 0:38can trade any [ __ ]
  16. 0:41and as long as you trade it correctly,
  17. 0:43it's going to work. No, you do need an
  18. 0:45edge, but my point is just that if
  19. 0:48somebody were to have a statistically
  20. 0:50proven edge and they teach you exactly
  21. 0:52how to do it, if you don't have the
  22. 0:55right foundation, chances are you're
  23. 0:57probably going to have much different
  24. 0:59results.
  25. 1:01And
  26. 1:02I know that's not what most of you
  27. 1:05probably want to hear, but it's the
  28. 1:07truth and it's the reason why most
  29. 1:09people who try and do this, even though
  30. 1:11there's so much information out on the
  31. 1:13internet that you can use to your
  32. 1:14advantage,
  33. 1:16that they still lose money and they
  34. 1:18still never make money. And I know it's
  35. 1:20the truth because I did it. I did it for
  36. 1:232 years. I lost money every day for 2
  37. 1:27years. I blew probably before I got a
  38. 1:29payout, I probably blew like 150 to 200
  39. 1:33accounts and they were like big-sized
  40. 1:35accounts, so I probably spent close to
  41. 1:38like $50,000,
  42. 1:41probably more than that, of cash.
  43. 1:44Of cash that I actually didn't even have
  44. 1:46that I put on a credit card. I had no
  45. 1:48idea how I was going to pay it off. And
  46. 1:50I did all of that while thinking
  47. 1:52that the problem was I needed to find
  48. 1:54the right setup. I needed to find the
  49. 1:56right strategy or that one indicator
  50. 1:59that I was just going to make everything
  51. 2:01work.
  52. 2:03It's not about that. It's not about the
  53. 2:06indicator or the strategy or whatever.
  54. 2:09Now, again, because there's going to be
  55. 2:11people watching this who go, "Oh, don't
  56. 2:14give me this [ __ ] about edge doesn't
  57. 2:17matter and it's just about psychology."
  58. 2:19No, I agree. Edge does matter, but even
  59. 2:22if you have an edge, if you can't
  60. 2:24execute it properly, then the edge
  61. 2:26doesn't mean jack [ __ ] So, the point of
  62. 2:29this video is just to explain
  63. 2:32you need to start with a proper
  64. 2:34foundation.
  65. 2:36And most people skip that. Most people
  66. 2:37just go immediate immediately to some
  67. 2:39type of pattern preference or some type
  68. 2:42of [ __ ] that they're trying to trade
  69. 2:44that they see on the internet where some
  70. 2:46guy goes, "This one setup changed my
  71. 2:48life." And this one indicator gives me a
  72. 2:5190% win rate. And then you got people
  73. 2:54who don't know anything else other than
  74. 2:55trading and they just like try and copy
  75. 2:58and paste what they see in a video
  76. 3:01and then they lose and they wonder why.
  77. 3:03They say, "Oh, that was a [ __ ]
  78. 3:05strategy. That [ __ ] doesn't work." I'm
  79. 3:07going to tell you in this video exactly
  80. 3:09why this happens and more importantly,
  81. 3:12I'm going to tell you what you actually
  82. 3:14need to fix before the strategy or it
  83. 3:17really any type of edge is actually
  84. 3:19going to work for you because most
  85. 3:20traders figure this out too late. And
  86. 3:23actually,
  87. 3:24some traders never figure it out at all
  88. 3:27and they just quit. They either quit or
  89. 3:29they keep doing the same thing
  90. 3:32over and over and over and then they're
  91. 3:34in the same spot for years. There's
  92. 3:36people in this industry who are
  93. 3:38literally waking up every morning to
  94. 3:40trade doing the exact same [ __ ] chasing
  95. 3:44strategies
  96. 3:45for years and they never get a payout.
  97. 3:48Some of them don't even don't even uh
  98. 3:51evaluations when you can literally do
  99. 3:53that just by luck. And so, here's what's
  100. 3:55happening to most traders right now.
  101. 3:57They find a strategy.
  102. 3:59They see it looks simple. It makes
  103. 4:01sense. It makes sense based off of the
  104. 4:03video from the guy that they just
  105. 4:05watched. So, then you go and you demo
  106. 4:07trade it, you paper trade it, you back
  107. 4:09test for a couple hours.
  108. 4:12It looks good. Looks simple. It's
  109. 4:14working. And then the moment you take it
  110. 4:16live, uh you start losing.
  111. 4:19It doesn't do the same as it was when
  112. 4:21you were doing demo and back testing.
  113. 4:23So, then you think, "Oh, I probably just
  114. 4:25need to tweak it." So, you go in, you
  115. 4:27tweak it, and then you lose again. So,
  116. 4:29now you start wondering to yourself,
  117. 4:32does this strategy even work?
  118. 4:35Is this strategy even real? Did it stop
  119. 4:37working? Did the market change? And then
  120. 4:40they go back to YouTube
  121. 4:42and then they find another video with
  122. 4:44some guy saying that he has a 90% win
  123. 4:47rate or this one setup changes life like
  124. 4:50I was mentioning earlier
  125. 4:52and it looks simple. Looks clean again.
  126. 4:56So, you try that one instead. You just
  127. 4:57keep going until you think you're going
  128. 4:59to find something that's that's going to
  129. 5:00work. And the problem is is that
  130. 5:04logically, this cycle makes sense.
  131. 5:08Logically, when you're inside of it, of
  132. 5:10course. You change strategies when the
  133. 5:12current one isn't working. That's
  134. 5:14rational, but it's based on a false
  135. 5:17assumption. The assumption is not that
  136. 5:20the strategy is the reason you're losing
  137. 5:22and almost every time for most people,
  138. 5:25it's not. I've watched traders trade the
  139. 5:28exact same system that I use and they
  140. 5:31still blow their accounts with it. I've
  141. 5:33watched traders take garbage setups,
  142. 5:35garbage trades, or trade strategies that
  143. 5:37are just totally wrong and has no
  144. 5:41statistical backing to it whatsoever
  145. 5:44or just don't even work and they make
  146. 5:45money with them. The strategy is not the
  147. 5:48variable that we need to change. You're
  148. 5:51the variable. You're the variable. So,
  149. 5:54think about what happens on a losing
  150. 5:56day, okay? You sit down, you got your
  151. 5:59setup. The market opens and you wait for
  152. 6:02your entry criteria and then maybe the
  153. 6:04move comes, maybe it doesn't. But here's
  154. 6:07usually what happens next is you're
  155. 6:10sitting there and you're starting to
  156. 6:12feel like you're missing something.
  157. 6:13You're starting to feel like the
  158. 6:15market's moving and you're not in it and
  159. 6:18maybe you saw setups that you didn't
  160. 6:19take or whatever. So, you take a
  161. 6:21slightly different trade. Not exactly
  162. 6:24the setup that was called for, but close
  163. 6:27enough. So, you rationalize it and then
  164. 6:29it loses. And then now you're down. So,
  165. 6:32suddenly your whole mindset shifts.
  166. 6:35You're not trading to execute your
  167. 6:36process anymore. You're trading to make
  168. 6:38the money back and then those are
  169. 6:40completely different activities. That is
  170. 6:43not a strategy problem. That is a you
  171. 6:46problem. The strategy didn't tell you to
  172. 6:48deviate from the process.
  173. 6:51The strategy didn't tell you to revenge
  174. 6:53trade. The strategy didn't do any of
  175. 6:55that.
  176. 6:56You did that and that's the thing that a
  177. 6:58lot of people don't want to admit. They
  178. 7:00want to blame it on the strategy or they
  179. 7:01want to blame it on the market or
  180. 7:03whatever, market conditions or shitty
  181. 7:05price action or whatever. When I look
  182. 7:07back at my own history,
  183. 7:11let's say no payouts, over 150 accounts
  184. 7:14blown, 50k in the hole, I can tell you
  185. 7:18with certainty that probably
  186. 7:22maybe 10 of those accounts were just bad
  187. 7:26luck, were just normal variance, trades
  188. 7:28that were executed correctly that just
  189. 7:30didn't work. The other 140 accounts,
  190. 7:34well, that was me. That was bad risk
  191. 7:36management. That was gambling. That was
  192. 7:38coming back in after hitting my daily
  193. 7:39loss limit. That was increasing size
  194. 7:42because I wanted to make back the losses
  195. 7:45faster or increasing size because I'm on
  196. 7:49a winning streak due to luck and
  197. 7:52variance and then
  198. 7:54um
  199. 7:55not accepting losses properly. I had the
  200. 7:57strategies the whole time. I had the
  201. 8:00setups the whole time. I just couldn't
  202. 8:02execute them because the foundation
  203. 8:05underneath the strategy was just
  204. 8:07completely broken. And that's the
  205. 8:09uncomfortable part of it. The chart is
  206. 8:11neutral. It doesn't care about your
  207. 8:14emotions.
  208. 8:16It really doesn't care about your
  209. 8:18mortgage or your rent or the bills that
  210. 8:20you have to pay
  211. 8:21or how badly you want this to work or
  212. 8:24how hard you're working to try and be a
  213. 8:26successful trader. The market really
  214. 8:28doesn't give a [ __ ] about any of that.
  215. 8:29It just moves. It just moves. So,
  216. 8:33then the thing is is like in most cases,
  217. 8:35if it's not the strategy, then what is
  218. 8:38it? Well,
  219. 8:39again,
  220. 8:41you do need an actual strategy that has
  221. 8:43an edge. You do need an actual edge. But
  222. 8:46the only way you can execute on that
  223. 8:48edge, again, is if you have the right
  224. 8:50foundation. So, in my own experience,
  225. 8:53both from trading on my own and watching
  226. 8:55other traders just trade and seeing the
  227. 8:58people around me who are also trying to
  228. 8:59be uh consistently profitable trader,
  229. 9:02it always comes down to three main
  230. 9:05things.
  231. 9:06Most traders don't actually have real
  232. 9:09risk management. They have the idea of
  233. 9:11risk management and they know they're
  234. 9:13supposed to they they know the rule
  235. 9:15where they hear it and they say, "Oh,
  236. 9:17you're only supposed to risk 1% of your
  237. 9:19account." And and they're know they know
  238. 9:21they're not supposed to overtrade or
  239. 9:23oversize.
  240. 9:25Um
  241. 9:26And they know they're not supposed to
  242. 9:27add losing positions and blah blah blah
  243. 9:29blah blah. Every
  244. 9:31We hear this all the time. Everyone
  245. 9:32knows this. But then the market opens
  246. 9:35and then all of that [ __ ] just [ __ ]
  247. 9:37flies out the window. Just flies out the
  248. 9:39window.
  249. 9:41It's like imagine if you're training to
  250. 9:43be a fighter, okay? And you're in the
  251. 9:46gym, you're punching the bag, you're
  252. 9:48doing the pad work, you're sparring with
  253. 9:50somebody, and you have a plan. You've
  254. 9:52been watching tape on the other guy. You
  255. 9:54know how why should be fighting this
  256. 9:56guy. You step into the ring on the day
  257. 9:58of the fight, you get punched in the
  258. 10:00face, and then all of that planning just
  259. 10:03[ __ ] flies out the window.
  260. 10:06Everybody has a plan. I know you guys
  261. 10:08have probably heard this. Everyone has a
  262. 10:09plan until they get punched in the face.
  263. 10:11And it's the same
  264. 10:14when it comes to trading.
  265. 10:16Real risk management isn't a rule that
  266. 10:19you follow when things are going well.
  267. 10:21Real risk management is what keeps you
  268. 10:24alive and keeps you in the game when
  269. 10:27things are not going well. And the
  270. 10:28entire point of it
  271. 10:30is not so that you make more money.
  272. 10:34It's so that you have an account to
  273. 10:36trade tomorrow. Because if you don't
  274. 10:39have an account, then
  275. 10:42what are we talking about? Strategy,
  276. 10:45setup, risk management, psychology. You
  277. 10:47don't have a [ __ ] account. None of it
  278. 10:50matters anymore. None of it matters.
  279. 10:52None of it. Not your edge, not your
  280. 10:54skills on the chart, not your setup.
  281. 10:58None of it. So, survivability isn't
  282. 11:01boring. It's actually the most
  283. 11:02aggressive long-term strategy that you
  284. 11:04have. So, your goal when you sit down to
  285. 11:07trade is not to make as much money as
  286. 11:09possible. Your goal is to lose as little
  287. 11:12money as possible, pretty much. That
  288. 11:14reframe alone changes everything about
  289. 11:17how you approach the market. Now again,
  290. 11:20I'm going to say this
  291. 11:22a few times
  292. 11:25because it's really important.
  293. 11:28You need an edge, though.
  294. 11:30You need an edge. I'm not going to sit
  295. 11:33here and like tell you that all
  296. 11:37strategies work and that it's all about
  297. 11:40psychology and do that whole guru
  298. 11:43[ __ ] But look, if you're going to
  299. 11:46like
  300. 11:47try and trade and you're trying to
  301. 11:49execute an edge that you've tested or
  302. 11:52whatever,
  303. 11:54the only way to execute that edge in
  304. 11:56live market environments is by executing
  305. 11:59it on a foundation that you've built.
  306. 12:01And so,
  307. 12:02there's things that we do
  308. 12:05that are variables that go against our
  309. 12:07edge. Like for example, one of them is
  310. 12:10tilt. Here's something that a lot of
  311. 12:11people get wrong about tilt. You can be
  312. 12:13perfectly calm, but you can be tilted at
  313. 12:17the same time. A lot of people like to
  314. 12:18think about tilt meaning that you're
  315. 12:21angry or
  316. 12:23you're getting sweaty or hot or you're
  317. 12:26trying to
  318. 12:27identify tilt through
  319. 12:30um emotions, I guess. But you can sit
  320. 12:33there, you can be totally fine, but you
  321. 12:36can still be in a mental state where you
  322. 12:38can't evaluate
  323. 12:40a setup correctly. You can't make
  324. 12:42calculated decisions. And so, people
  325. 12:45won't realize that they're tilting until
  326. 12:47they start
  327. 12:49feeling the feeling of tilt. And by that
  328. 12:51point, I mean it's like, "Fuck, dude,
  329. 12:52you already lost. You already lost."
  330. 12:54Probably at that point, your account's
  331. 12:56basically gone.
  332. 12:58And some people don't even realize
  333. 12:59they're tilting until the account is
  334. 13:00actually gone.
  335. 13:02So, how do you know that you tilted?
  336. 13:05Well, it's not necessarily based off of
  337. 13:07emotions, it's based off of behavior.
  338. 13:09You got to watch your behavior. It's not
  339. 13:11your feelings. Like, did you just take a
  340. 13:13trade that didn't fully meet your
  341. 13:15criteria? Did you just increase your
  342. 13:17size because you lost three in a row and
  343. 13:19you're trying to make it back quicker?
  344. 13:21Did you just hold past your stop because
  345. 13:23you think it's some type of liquidity
  346. 13:25grab and that it's going to come back?
  347. 13:27Those are all tilt behaviors and you can
  348. 13:29be totally calm while you do all of
  349. 13:31that. And they're almost always
  350. 13:33invisible to the person that is doing
  351. 13:36it. And I've blown more accounts
  352. 13:39from tilt
  353. 13:41than anything else. Before I started
  354. 13:42trading, I used to just gamble all the
  355. 13:44time. I'd go to the casino
  356. 13:46probably every weekend, knew I was going
  357. 13:49to lose money, I found it fun.
  358. 13:51I just loved to gamble. And then I
  359. 13:53started trading
  360. 13:55and then I traded the same way and then
  361. 13:57it just
  362. 13:59I tilted constantly every day, blow like
  363. 14:01two, three accounts every day. I'd hit
  364. 14:04my daily loss limit. I'd tell myself I
  365. 14:07was just going to take one more trade,
  366. 14:10see if I can make it just a little bit
  367. 14:11less of a loss, and that turned into
  368. 14:13another trade and another trade and
  369. 14:15another trade. And then next thing I
  370. 14:16know, my account's gone. Whip out the
  371. 14:18credit card, go get another account, do
  372. 14:20the same exact [ __ ] over again. And I
  373. 14:22thought I was being
  374. 14:24disciplined by like sitting there and
  375. 14:27watching the charts and making sure I
  376. 14:29wasn't missing any opportunities and not
  377. 14:31getting distracted, but I was actually
  378. 14:33doing the opposite. The fix isn't
  379. 14:35necessarily having willpower. The fix is
  380. 14:39having hard rules set in place that
  381. 14:42stops the day before tilt
  382. 14:45ever sets, before tilt ever gives you
  383. 14:48the opportunity to even act on it. When
  384. 14:50you hit your daily loss limit, you close
  385. 14:52the platform. Not after one more trade,
  386. 14:55not after you sit there for another 20
  387. 14:57minutes and see if a better opportunity
  388. 15:00pops up, not after you check the chart
  389. 15:02one more time.
  390. 15:04You close it. You just close it. And so,
  391. 15:07there are things that people who are
  392. 15:09trading, who are struggling trading,
  393. 15:12don't realize is even happening. And the
  394. 15:15way that most traders approach this is
  395. 15:17you see somebody online, he makes a lot
  396. 15:19of money, you go, "Oh, that looked easy.
  397. 15:22I want to learn how to trade." You click
  398. 15:23on the guy's profile. Oh, in this guy's
  399. 15:25profile, he's got this one strategy or
  400. 15:27this one setup that changes his life.
  401. 15:30That he has this 90% win rate Whatever
  402. 15:33the [ __ ] it says, I don't know.
  403. 15:35People say the same [ __ ] but the point
  404. 15:37is it's just like you try and learn it
  405. 15:40and you try and make it work. And that's
  406. 15:41the first thing you do, you just try and
  407. 15:43make the strategy work. Then you
  408. 15:45realize, "Oh, I need risk management."
  409. 15:48And then so, you start reading about
  410. 15:50psychology. You hear traders say you
  411. 15:51need to read Trading in the Zone and
  412. 15:53Best Loser Wins and all these different
  413. 15:56things. So, then you start focusing on
  414. 15:57that. And then eventually, after losing
  415. 16:00a lot of money, you start to understand
  416. 16:02that you should have started with the
  417. 16:04foundation.
  418. 16:06Should have started with the foundation.
  419. 16:09Not the strategy.
  420. 16:10Strategy's not the foundation. The
  421. 16:12strategy is something you build on top
  422. 16:13of the foundation. But people do it
  423. 16:15backwards. And doing it backwards is
  424. 16:18going to cause you
  425. 16:20to lose
  426. 16:21thousands of dollars. Think about it
  427. 16:24like building a house, okay?
  428. 16:27If you know anything about building a
  429. 16:28house, you have to lay a foundation
  430. 16:31before you put up the walls. You don't
  431. 16:34put up the walls before you pour the
  432. 16:36foundation. You don't put the roof on
  433. 16:38before you build the walls. And it
  434. 16:40happens in a specific order because each
  435. 16:43layer depends on the one below it.
  436. 16:46You don't put up the walls on a [ __ ]
  437. 16:50foundation and then start to blame the
  438. 16:52walls for not staying upright. That's
  439. 16:55not [laughter] how it works.
  440. 16:56And trading is identical to that.
  441. 16:58Foundation first.
  442. 17:00How does the market actually work? What
  443. 17:02am I trading? Like, what is this? How to
  444. 17:05manage risk? How to take losses
  445. 17:07correctly? Then the strategy. Then
  446. 17:10bankroll management and scaling. It's in
  447. 17:12that order, always.
  448. 17:14Always. The typical order is like people
  449. 17:17will come in, learn a strategy, try and
  450. 17:19scale it, then try and learn learn
  451. 17:22risk management and psychology,
  452. 17:25and then try and figure out what the
  453. 17:26market's actually doing.
  454. 17:28You're doing it backwards. If you jump
  455. 17:30to the strategy before you build a
  456. 17:32foundation, you are going to blow up.
  457. 17:35You are going to lose.
  458. 17:37You may get lucky, you may have some
  459. 17:38variance, you may have like a good month
  460. 17:40or whatever, but over time, you're going
  461. 17:42to lose. And then you're going to blame
  462. 17:44the strategy. You're going to say, "Oh,
  463. 17:46well, that strategy doesn't work." And
  464. 17:48you're going to go to another strategy.
  465. 17:49And then it's going to happen again
  466. 17:52because the foundation was never there
  467. 17:54to begin with. So, what do we actually
  468. 17:56need to do?
  469. 17:58Well, we need to start with the right
  470. 17:59goal.
  471. 18:00So, the first shift is the hardest one
  472. 18:04because it feels counterintuitive. Stop
  473. 18:07trying to make money.
  474. 18:10You need to start trying to stay in the
  475. 18:12game.
  476. 18:14I know how that sounds.
  477. 18:15You're trading because you want to make
  478. 18:17money. We're all trading because we want
  479. 18:19to make money. I know, I get it.
  480. 18:22But here's the thing. For me, when I
  481. 18:23stopped focusing on trying to make money
  482. 18:27and started focusing purely on
  483. 18:29surviving, on not blowing accounts, not
  484. 18:32blowing two, three, four accounts every
  485. 18:34single day, not whipping out my credit
  486. 18:37card to then re-up on more accounts just
  487. 18:40to do the same [ __ ] again, that's when
  488. 18:42the money actually started coming. It's
  489. 18:44a paradox, right? You heard it. Chase
  490. 18:47the money, it runs. Stop chasing, it
  491. 18:50follows. So, practically, what does this
  492. 18:53look like? Well,
  493. 18:55every morning before you sit down,
  494. 18:58your only question your only question
  495. 19:00really is, "What's the most I'm willing
  496. 19:03to lose today?" And when you hit that
  497. 19:05number, and it has to be a real number.
  498. 19:07See, here here's the issue. People
  499. 19:09will be like, "I'm going to
  500. 19:12uh stop trading after I lose $500." But
  501. 19:15they were never really willing to risk
  502. 19:18$500 in the first place. And so, when
  503. 19:20you do hit that $500,
  504. 19:23it's uncomfortable.
  505. 19:25And you want to fix that uncomfort.
  506. 19:28So, you're going to try and fix it, and
  507. 19:30that means you're going to try and
  508. 19:31continue to trade. So, when you set a
  509. 19:34daily loss limit, you need to be
  510. 19:37honest about it. You People set loss
  511. 19:40limits without really thinking about
  512. 19:43what it's going to be like when they
  513. 19:45actually hit that loss limit.
  514. 19:47So, it's really important that you
  515. 19:49choose
  516. 19:50the right number for you. I can't tell
  517. 19:53you what it is.
  518. 19:55Somebody can be totally comfortable with
  519. 19:56losing a thousand dollars on the day.
  520. 19:58Somebody might not be comfortable losing
  521. 20:01a few hundred dollars on the day.
  522. 20:03Now, if you're not willing to lose any
  523. 20:05money on the day, well, then guess what?
  524. 20:06You should probably go do something else
  525. 20:08cuz you're going to There's going to be
  526. 20:09days where we lose. We're not thinking
  527. 20:11about, "Oh, I'm sitting down at my
  528. 20:12computer. How much money am I going to
  529. 20:14try and make today? What's my profit
  530. 20:16target today?" It's What is the maximum
  531. 20:19amount of damage that I can live with
  532. 20:22before I shut it down?
  533. 20:24Before I stop. So, that's the lens.
  534. 20:26That's the foundation of every good
  535. 20:29trading day. The traders that I have met
  536. 20:33in this space that I actually respect,
  537. 20:36the ones who are who are actually
  538. 20:38consistently profitable,
  539. 20:40they all have one thing in common. They
  540. 20:43care way more about how they traded than
  541. 20:47how much money they made. A losing trade
  542. 20:49that was executed correctly, like right
  543. 20:52entry criteria, proper sizing, properly
  544. 20:55placed stop, taken off at a structural
  545. 20:58invalidation area, that's a good trade.
  546. 21:01You did your job. The market just didn't
  547. 21:03cooperate at that time. A winning trade
  548. 21:06that came from a revenge trade where you
  549. 21:09already broke all your rules and you're
  550. 21:11just trading
  551. 21:12out of desperation to make your money
  552. 21:14back, that's a bad trade. It doesn't
  553. 21:16matter if it wins or loses. That is a
  554. 21:18bad trade. Even if it made money. It's a
  555. 21:21bad trade even if it made money. Because
  556. 21:23you didn't trust your process. You
  557. 21:24gambled. You got lucky.
  558. 21:27And that's not going to consistently
  559. 21:29happen over a long period of time. It's
  560. 21:32a ticking time bomb.
  561. 21:34If you do that, that is a ticking time
  562. 21:36bomb. You're going to blow all of your
  563. 21:38accounts if you continuously do that.
  564. 21:41The process has to be defined before you
  565. 21:43ever touch a live account. Before you
  566. 21:45ever get into a funded account, not
  567. 21:48after. And definitely not while you're
  568. 21:50figuring it out. Before. Has to be
  569. 21:52before. So, if you're serious
  570. 21:55and you're struggling
  571. 21:58with trading,
  572. 21:59if you're serious about trying to be
  573. 22:01profitable and trying to actually change
  574. 22:04the results or the outcomes of your
  575. 22:06effort, here is the sequence. And I need
  576. 22:09you to trust this order because every
  577. 22:11step depends on the one before it. The
  578. 22:13first step
  579. 22:15in the proper foundation for learning
  580. 22:17how to trade is understanding how the
  581. 22:19market actually moves. Not pattern
  582. 22:22recognition. Not when this candle
  583. 22:24pattern appears, you you buy or when
  584. 22:27this uh indicator prints a buy signal,
  585. 22:30you buy it and this is where you place
  586. 22:32your stop and your TP. No. Understanding
  587. 22:34why price is actually moving. What is
  588. 22:37driving it?
  589. 22:39Why is it bouncing back and forth? Why
  590. 22:41is it running in a singular direction?
  591. 22:44And who's on the side Who's on the other
  592. 22:46side of the trade that you're you're
  593. 22:48taking? Because without this, you're
  594. 22:51essentially just guessing. The second
  595. 22:53step is risk management. And that
  596. 22:55includes like how to actually take a
  597. 22:57loss. Because they're going to happen.
  598. 23:00How to take a loss. How to size into
  599. 23:03positions. How to define before the
  600. 23:06entry what it is that you're actually
  601. 23:08doing. And where it is where you're
  602. 23:12wrong.
  603. 23:13This is the foundation for everything.
  604. 23:16And if you skip this, the other steps
  605. 23:18are just going to fall apart. Step three
  606. 23:21is the strategy and the entries.
  607. 23:23Actually learning and validating
  608. 23:26validating
  609. 23:28what your edge is and how to execute on
  610. 23:30it.
  611. 23:31Again, perfect psychology with a
  612. 23:33[ __ ] edge is not going to work. It's
  613. 23:35just not going to work over a long
  614. 23:37period of time. It won't have You won't
  615. 23:39be successful unless you have an edge.
  616. 23:42There's no going around it. Anyone who
  617. 23:44sits here and makes these types of
  618. 23:45videos and tries to talk about
  619. 23:47psychology, at the end of the day, it is
  620. 23:50the strategy, too. It is. You do need to
  621. 23:52have an edge.
  622. 23:54But the thing is is is just that this is
  623. 23:56where most traders start and it's the
  624. 23:58wrong starting point. It's just the
  625. 24:00wrong way to start. It should be after
  626. 24:03the first two steps. And then the fourth
  627. 24:06step, if you're trading prop firms, is
  628. 24:08bankroll management, but specifically
  629. 24:10with prop firms. How to use payouts to
  630. 24:13fund evaluations, how to scale properly
  631. 24:16without ever going into the red, and how
  632. 24:18to build multiple income streams from
  633. 24:21multiple funded accounts. That's the
  634. 24:23order. Foundation, risk, edge, and then
  635. 24:27scaling. Most people try and do like
  636. 24:30edge first, scale second, risk third,
  637. 24:34and then fourth is the foundation. And
  638. 24:37they wonder why
  639. 24:39nothing works.
  640. 24:40And the last thing that I want to talk
  641. 24:42about in this video before we wrap it up
  642. 24:44is just the timeline.
  643. 24:46People get into trading because they it
  644. 24:48looks like it's so easy. It looks like
  645. 24:50it's so easy, right? People get into
  646. 24:53trading and they expect to be profitable
  647. 24:55in like three months. And when they're
  648. 24:57not, they feel like they're failing.
  649. 24:59They see everything online. Everyone's
  650. 25:01always winning, right? That's the only
  651. 25:03thing we see online. Everyone's always
  652. 25:05winning. Why am I the only one that's
  653. 25:06losing?
  654. 25:07And then they say, "Trading is a scam.
  655. 25:11All these videos of these guys who are
  656. 25:12telling me strategies,
  657. 25:14they say it works for them. I tried it.
  658. 25:16It doesn't work for me. I'm losing every
  659. 25:18day. Trading this guy's same strategy
  660. 25:20and he's winning every day. This [ __ ] is
  661. 25:22a scam." Well, take some time to be good
  662. 25:25at trading. It takes some time.
  663. 25:28You know, they say like you hear the
  664. 25:30thing where they say it takes two to
  665. 25:32three years to be profitable in trading.
  666. 25:34And for some people it might be faster
  667. 25:36and for others it might be longer.
  668. 25:38And it all has to do with the behaviors
  669. 25:42and the person that is actually
  670. 25:45attempting to trade because everybody's
  671. 25:47different.
  672. 25:48There's going to be people who have
  673. 25:51behaviors and tendencies that they do in
  674. 25:53their normal day-to-day life that's
  675. 25:55going to translate well to trading. And
  676. 25:57then there's other people, like myself,
  677. 25:59who like to gamble where that's a
  678. 26:01terrible thing to bring into trading,
  679. 26:03but you're going to bring it in because
  680. 26:04those are behaviors and and patterns
  681. 26:06that you typically do outside of
  682. 26:08trading.
  683. 26:09So, depending on the person, it can take
  684. 26:11a long time or
  685. 26:13it can just start working for you
  686. 26:15because, again, everybody's different.
  687. 26:18But they say two to three years to be
  688. 26:21profitable. Now, do I believe that? Uh I
  689. 26:23don't really know. Did it take me two
  690. 26:25years basically to become profitable?
  691. 26:27Yeah. So, I guess I support that
  692. 26:29statistic. So, that's that's one thing
  693. 26:32to consider. But that's just the reality
  694. 26:35of it. We'll just say two to three
  695. 26:36years. That means two to three years of
  696. 26:39losing money, of learning, adjusting,
  697. 26:41tweaking, and building the mental
  698. 26:44infrastructure to be able to
  699. 26:46successfully trade profitably,
  700. 26:49consistently, long-term. And I'm not
  701. 26:52saying that necessarily to discourage
  702. 26:55you. I'm saying that because it's
  703. 26:57important to understand the timeline of
  704. 26:59this learning curve or this process
  705. 27:02going into it. I'm sure a lot of people
  706. 27:04who are watching this video are I mean,
  707. 27:07I would assume, are probably in their
  708. 27:09first or second year of trading and
  709. 27:10they're or even their first couple
  710. 27:12months of trading and they're not
  711. 27:13finding success. If you understand the
  712. 27:16timeline,
  713. 27:17you're going to make decisions that are
  714. 27:19going to keep you in the game long
  715. 27:21enough to get there instead of blowing
  716. 27:23everything, trying to shortcut it, and
  717. 27:26then just saying, "This [ __ ] doesn't
  718. 27:28[ __ ] work." And then quitting. The
  719. 27:30people that lose everything, why? They
  720. 27:33try and shortcut the timeline. It takes
  721. 27:35time to learn how to trade properly.
  722. 27:38We're dealing with money. We're dealing
  723. 27:40with emotions. We're We're This is not
  724. 27:42easy. People size up too fast. They
  725. 27:44over-leverage. They can't accept the
  726. 27:46fact that they're wrong. They don't like
  727. 27:47being wrong. They skip the foundation.
  728. 27:51And the people who make it, well,
  729. 27:53they understand that this is a long-term
  730. 27:55game. That this is a long game. And they
  731. 27:58decide that they actually want to play
  732. 27:59the long game. If you have the right
  733. 28:01process and you actually follow it, I
  734. 28:03genuinely think you can cut that two to
  735. 28:05three years down significantly. And
  736. 28:07that's not because trading gets easier,
  737. 28:10but it's because you stop wasting time
  738. 28:12on the things that don't actually
  739. 28:14matter. So, here's where we are. You've
  740. 28:16been probably blaming the strategy,
  741. 28:19watching new YouTube videos, jumping to
  742. 28:21different strategies, blaming that one,
  743. 28:24then thinking maybe uh it's my
  744. 28:26psychology, start reading a book about
  745. 28:28psychology,
  746. 28:30start journaling how you feel when you
  747. 28:32take a trade.
  748. 28:33That's your version of journaling,
  749. 28:35writing down your feelings. And yeah,
  750. 28:37that strategy might actually have
  751. 28:40problems. Sure. Just like how we
  752. 28:42mentioned earlier in the uh in the in
  753. 28:45the beginning of the video.
  754. 28:47But usually, for most people, the
  755. 28:49strategy was never actually the problem.
  756. 28:52And it's never what's actually killing
  757. 28:54your account over and over and over and
  758. 28:56over. What's killing your account is
  759. 28:58trying to execute an edge on top of a
  760. 29:00foundation that was never built. That's
  761. 29:02the whole thing. That's the whole point
  762. 29:04of this video. I'm not telling you
  763. 29:07I'm not telling you that oh, edge
  764. 29:09doesn't matter or you could trade
  765. 29:11whatever you want and a strategy about
  766. 29:13the moon and the stars aligning will
  767. 29:15tell you what the markets are going to
  768. 29:16do. No, I'm not saying that. You need an
  769. 29:19actual edge. You need an actual
  770. 29:21strategy. Yes. Needs to exist.
  771. 29:24But if you have it and you don't have
  772. 29:26the foundation, you're never going to be
  773. 29:28able to execute it. And that doesn't
  774. 29:30mean learning psychology. There's a
  775. 29:32process. There is a system to this. It's
  776. 29:34not just, "Let me go read a book about
  777. 29:36psychology and uh
  778. 29:39uh let me write down my feelings after
  779. 29:41every trade." It
  780. 29:43It's It's all [ __ ] waste of time.
  781. 29:45It's all wasted time. That [ __ ] is If
  782. 29:47you're going to journal, first of all,
  783. 29:49we can make another video on that.
  784. 29:50That's not how you should be journaling.
  785. 29:52You shouldn't be writing down your
  786. 29:53feelings. That's
  787. 29:55a waste of time.
  788. 29:57That's like the That's like one of the
  789. 29:58things in journaling that matters
  790. 30:01probably the least, but we'll get to
  791. 30:03that in a different video. So,
  792. 30:05foundation first.
  793. 30:07Risk is second.
  794. 30:09Edge is third.
  795. 30:11And scaling is fourth. In that order.
  796. 30:15Do not mix it around.
  797. 30:17Don't do it. If you've been trading and
  798. 30:19you feel like you're stuck or you're not
  799. 30:21making any progress or you're doing the
  800. 30:22same [ __ ] over and over and over again
  801. 30:24and you don't realize why or you can't
  802. 30:26figure it out, I want you to honestly
  803. 30:29ask yourself, did I actually build the
  804. 30:31foundation or just straight up jump into
  805. 30:34trading trying to find an edge and
  806. 30:36figure out the rest along the way?
  807. 30:39Be honest because
  808. 30:41that answer
  809. 30:43is going to tell you exactly where you
  810. 30:45need to start. So, now that you
  811. 30:46understand why you're actually losing
  812. 30:48and what's causing you to probably lose
  813. 30:51and not be able to execute an edge even
  814. 30:52if it does exist, the next thing you
  815. 30:55need to do is to understand how the
  816. 30:57market actually moves at a structural
  817. 31:00level because without that, even with
  818. 31:03perfect risk management, if you don't
  819. 31:05know what's going on
  820. 31:07or what it is that we're trading and why
  821. 31:09it's doing the things that it's doing,
  822. 31:11you're still going to be taking entries
  823. 31:14and not knowing why. And there's a
  824. 31:16framework that I use to read every trade
  825. 31:19that I take, every single trade, and
  826. 31:21it's rooted in how markets actually move
  827. 31:24and how they actually work as a live
  828. 31:27auction. And if you understand that
  829. 31:31and you read it, the way you see the
  830. 31:33charts can completely change. So, I'll
  831. 31:35include it in the description. And
  832. 31:37again, the last thing I'm going to say
  833. 31:38is none of this None of this matters
  834. 31:40also, by the way,
  835. 31:42if you don't have any self-control and
  836. 31:44you don't have any discipline and you
  837. 31:46don't have an edge.
  838. 31:48But, the last thing I'm going to mention
  839. 31:50about that
  840. 31:51is that
  841. 31:53if you build a proper foundation
  842. 31:56and you're actually exercising on
  843. 31:58building on top of that
  844. 32:00foundation that was properly built,
  845. 32:03it'll be easier to understand when you
  846. 32:06need to adjust your trading strategy.
  847. 32:08Otherwise, you're going to be adjusting
  848. 32:10a trading strategy and how you execute
  849. 32:13on it and you're ignoring what's
  850. 32:15actually the problem. And that is the
  851. 32:16entire point of this video. So, that's
  852. 32:19it. I'll catch you guys next time.
  853. 32:21Peace.
