- 0:00Uh, hi Alex, I'm really struggling with
- 0:01cold calls. I found myself in a loop
- 0:02where I reach out and the potential
- 0:03customer always replies with I can't
- 0:05talk now, I'm busy. Can I call you
- 0:06later? Um, my business can't survive if
- 0:08I can't get past this. Okay.
- 0:09>> Wow, you really need to write that book,
- 0:10huh?
- 0:11There's a lot of pressure to finish it.
- 0:13>> Oh my god.
- 0:14I've been working on a sales book and I
- 0:16don't think it's good enough for the
- 0:17standards that I have and I was like, I
- 0:19have to write this whole thing again and
- 0:20I've then I've I've been
- 0:23procrastinating.
- 0:24>> Yeah, so do you guys think because do
- 0:25you think Alex should rewrite it or just
- 0:29which will make him wait much longer? Or
- 0:31should he release what he has now? Oh my
- 0:34god, look at all this stuff on me from
- 0:35you.
- 0:36>> Well, that's from you. It's your hands.
- 0:38>> That's not.
- 0:39>> It's your hands, your cream.
- 0:40>> I'm ruined. This is $5 on Amazon.
- 0:42>> Well, that's on you.
- 0:45Release it?
- 0:46>> See, everyone doesn't care. They're like
- 0:47release that [ __ ] You could You know
- 0:49what you could do?
- 0:49>> What?
- 0:50>> call it a sales handbook instead of a
- 0:51sales book.
- 0:52>> No, I'm not going to do that.
- 0:53>> Why?
- 0:54>> I'm not going to do it.
- 0:54>> It's a pamphlet?
- 0:55>> No, it's not a pamphlet. It's [ __ ]
- 0:56big.
- 0:57>> Well, it could be a large pamphlet.
- 0:59>> The largest It literally it's bigger
- 1:00than all the books that I have right
- 1:01now. It's so much.
- 1:03>> It's so much. I'm trying to cut cut down
- 1:05so that it's it's more manageable.
- 1:07All right, let's back to the sales
- 1:09question.
- 1:10Um, really struggling with cold calls.
- 1:11Okay, so if people are saying that
- 1:13they're busy, then you're not giving
- 1:14them a reason to listen and so there's
- 1:15two things. One is the ask is too high
- 1:17and the reason is too low.
- 1:19All right, and so basically think about
- 1:20it like a cost is the is how much time
- 1:22they think they're going to have to give
- 1:24and then the the benefit is the reason
- 1:26that you're giving, right? And so
- 1:27basically you need to make the reason
- 1:28better and this is where like big big
- 1:30amazing offers open doors well and then
- 1:33also asking for like I don't like this
- 1:35sounds really tiny, but like if you're
- 1:36like, hey, do you have 15 minutes? It's
- 1:38like,
- 1:39no way. No one has 15 minutes. 15
- 1:40minutes is is 15 years, right? It's It's
- 1:43asking for 60 seconds, 120 seconds, you
- 1:45know, like 2 minutes. Um
- 1:48and then once you have your foot in the
- 1:49door, then you can do everything else.
- 1:51Um, what's his name?
- 1:52Um
- 1:55Uh, Oz. Oz the mentalist. Some of you
- 1:56guys have heard him. He has a book on
- 1:58this and he talked about his pitch when
- 2:00he was doing street performing was 30
- 2:03seconds. He would say, "Hey, 30
- 2:05seconds." And he said, "As soon as the
- 2:06person said, '30 seconds' back to him,
- 2:08he knew that he had him." He's like,
- 2:10"Would you like to see the most amazing
- 2:11trick in the world? It's 30 seconds."
- 2:12And they'd be like, "30 seconds?" He'd
- 2:14say, "Yes." So, his offer, big amazing
- 2:16reason, cost super low. And he said,
- 2:18"Then he'd have them for 10 minutes."
- 2:20Right? And so, you have to have big
- 2:21amazing reason, super low cost, and then
- 2:23you have your foot in the door.
- 2:24And just be willing to kiss more toes.
- 2:26>> I thought it was Oz.
