- 2:45a swim
- 2:46just yesterday as well for an hour or so

- 2:50had a really good time where do you like
- 2:53to go for food
- 2:55whenever it's possible to go out to eat
- 2:57i like to go to a nearby restaurant
- 3:00called the green garden
- 3:02they have different types of food and
- 3:05all of them are quite tasty
- 3:06the food is always fresh and i really
- 3:09like the atmosphere with all the plants
- 3:12and greenery
- 3:13as i said have like the color green
- 3:16who do you like spending time with um i

- 3:23i have few friends that i've grown up
- 3:24with and we are quite close
- 3:26i spent at least couple of hours with my
- 3:28good friend leila
- 3:31just before coming to this exam we had a
- 3:33really good chat on what's up
- 3:34she helped me to do some last-minute
- 3:36practice
- 3:39have there been any big changes in your
- 3:41daily activities over the past year
- 3:43ah yes of course have been there have
- 3:45been some major changes because of
- 3:47pandemic
- 3:49i haven't been meeting up with my
- 3:51families and my family and friends as
- 3:53often
- 3:53as before and also i've been doing lots
- 3:56of my work and study from home
- 3:59that aside some of my routines stay the
- 4:02same such as
- 4:03reading books or going for runs
- 4:08if you could add one more activity to
- 4:11each day
- 4:11what would it be um there are few
- 4:15engagements i like to add to my day if i
- 4:17had a bit more time
- 4:20one that is on top of the list is to do
- 4:22at least half an hour of deep meditation
- 4:25either in the morning or evening i think
- 4:27it will be really beneficial for my body
- 4:29and soul
- 4:31that is the end of part one now we will
- 4:33continue with part two for part two i
- 4:35will show you a card please don't touch
- 4:36the card
- 4:37you have a pencil and some note paper
- 4:39beside you you will have one minute to
- 4:41read the questions
- 4:42think about your answers and then you
- 4:44will have two minutes to speak you can
- 4:46take notes in the one minute if you wish
- 4:52talk about an important trip that was
- 4:55delayed your one
- 4:56minute preparation time begins now
- 5:05medina your one minute preparation time
- 5:07is up please begin speaking
- 5:10um so well i was planning to start start
- 5:13my master's studies in chemistry
- 5:16in canberra australia at the australian
- 5:19national university this year
- 5:20but i had to postpone this because of
- 5:23current pandemic
- 5:25this is exceptionally important to me
- 5:27because the school is ranked
- 5:29top 100 in the world for its graduate
- 5:31chemistry program
- 5:33and it has one of the great professors
- 5:35in the field
- 5:36i've been preparing for this trip for a
- 5:38couple of years
- 5:40going back to 2017. i've been studying
- 5:43lots
- 5:44and getting good grades my bachelor's
- 5:45program so i can meet the qualification
- 5:48requirements at anu
- 5:51my dream is to to study under one of the
- 5:54distinguished professors
- 5:56at anu and later do research and
- 5:59development
- 6:00for pharmaceuticals at the university or
- 6:03large corporation i'd love to work on
- 6:07the medication to treat and cure
- 6:09cancer and some other life-threatening
- 6:11illnesses
- 6:13however the pandemic that broke out in
- 6:162018 put a hold on these plans
- 6:18as the national borders clause for
- 6:20tourists and it has become really hard
- 6:23to take the necessary steps
- 6:24to get to canberra
- 6:28at the moment the university is not
- 6:30accepting international students
- 6:33all although they are helping me through
- 6:35the application
- 6:36process online so that when the studies
- 6:39come back to normal
- 6:41i can begin my studies at amu
- 6:45this hasn't concluded yet i'm still in
- 6:48the process of application such as doing
- 6:50this
- 6:50exam right now nevertheless
- 6:54i'm really optimistic that this covert
- 6:56situation will be resolved soon and i
- 6:58can start my studies
- 7:00at fall 2021 okay i'll stop you there
- 7:04uh please turn over the note paper and
- 7:06put it to the side
- 7:07also put the pencil to the side thank
- 7:10you
- 7:10and now we will continue with part three
- 7:13i will ask you a question in connection
- 7:15to your
- 7:16response to part two and some questions
- 7:18related to this topic
- 7:21how have you been using your time which
- 7:23resulted from this delay
- 7:26um i have been putting extra hours in
- 7:28study
- 7:30um like in my chemistry knowledge and
- 7:33english
- 7:34in fact i have been combining these two
- 7:36by by reading the
- 7:38book the chemistry books in english i
- 7:40think this will help to
- 7:42find my footing faster once i arrive in
- 7:44canberra
- 7:46let's talk about managing challenging
- 7:48situations
- 7:49what is important to keep in mind when
- 7:51unexpected events
- 7:53affect planning when an implant event
- 7:56impacts the situation
- 7:57it's important to remember to stay calm
- 8:00and focused
- 8:01it's necessary to keep in mind that life
- 8:03goes on and there will be an outcome
- 8:06can you elaborate on this a bit yes like
- 8:10say a person catches cold
- 8:11right before the important exam they
- 8:14shouldn't panic
- 8:15they should try to reschedule and well
- 8:17if they cannot there will be more
- 8:18opportunities for learning in their
- 8:20future
- 8:22what are some common situations around
- 8:25the world that can suddenly influence
- 8:27people's planning as i
- 8:30have just mentioned illness and an
- 8:32accident can have an approved
- 8:34interruption
- 8:35in plans as well as financial or family
- 8:38troubles
- 8:40which of these is the most difficult to
- 8:41deal with and why
- 8:43well i i think there's an illness are
- 8:47the most challenging dilemmas to deal
- 8:49with
- 8:49such as car accident or losing a parent
- 8:55how has technology helped in managing
- 8:57the influence of unforeseeable effects
- 8:59on scheduling
- 9:01well technological developments have
- 9:03been quite useful
- 9:04in mitigating the damage caused by an
- 9:07expected event
- 9:09communication technologies such as
- 9:10mobile phones
- 9:12have been quite helpful in the way that
- 9:14they allow us to quickly connect
- 9:17and discuss the situation and ask for
- 9:19assistance
- 9:20can you give an example yeah like say
- 9:23a person gets in a traffic accident on
- 9:26their way to work
- 9:27they can call immediately the office and
- 9:30tell them that they cannot make it on
- 9:31time
- 9:32or at all also they can reach out
- 9:35and call a tow truck an ambulance right
- 9:37away
- 9:38let's talk about personal management
- 9:40skills
- 9:42what life skills can help people stay in
- 9:44control of unplanned situations
- 9:47i have learned that stress management is
- 9:50absolutely necessary
- 9:51as well as analytical skills with the
- 9:54combination of these two attributes
- 9:56people can stay calm and figure out the
- 9:58best solutions for the problem
- 10:00such as throwing salt and flour to the
- 10:03oil fire in the kitchen
- 10:05instead of water where can people learn
- 10:08these
- 10:10i think individuals can pick up these
- 10:12skills
- 10:13to example or experience
- 10:17i have seen my mom and dad um handle
- 10:20some
- 10:20surprise situations with a cool head and
- 10:23he told me to do the same
- 10:26some people believe that keeping
- 10:28emotions under control
- 10:29is essential when dealing with new and
- 10:31challenging situations
- 10:33do you agree with this why or why not
- 10:36yes absolutely
- 10:37my previous explanation was in direct
- 10:39relation to this emotional control
- 10:41is the definition of keeping a cool head
- 10:44i think that staying confident instead
- 10:46of fear and panic
- 10:48is the rise right emotional response in
- 10:50the noble context
- 10:51especially the ones that are dangerous
- 10:53or consequential
- 10:56that is the end of part three that
- 10:58concludes the speaking portion of the
- 11:00exam you will have your mark with the
- 11:02other sections
- 11:03in a few days time and you will get your
- 11:06certificate in a within a couple weeks
- 11:07have a great rest of your day
- 11:10and make sure to take your

- 11:44she is coherent she answers all
- 11:47questions
- 11:48with a lot of detail and giving good
- 11:50explanations
- 11:52her lexical resource is broad she's
- 11:56able to paraphrase elements of the
- 11:58questions
- 11:59in her answers she's able to use
- 12:02expressions and idiomatic language
- 12:04naturally and she's able to use a broad
- 12:08range of vocabulary
- 12:12for grammatical range and accuracy
- 12:15she is accurate most of the time only
- 12:18making
- 12:19occasional mistakes the native speaker
- 12:22could
- 12:22also make she uses complex grammar
- 12:27including present perfect past perfect
- 12:29continuous forms
- 12:31passive forms and conditionals
- 12:35medina's pronunciation is clear and
- 12:38easily comprehensible although she does
- 12:42not sound like a native speaker of
- 12:44english
- 12:45all of her words can be easily
