- 0:00You got a black man, his death has been
- 0:02labeled a su when everything shows you
- 0:04it's not. It's kicked to the side
- 0:06because you know who the suspect is and
- 0:08who [music] her family is. I got a camp.
- 0:10He's still locked up right now with 130
- 0:13years. The same sentence that I used
- 0:15[music] to have and he's innocent.
- 0:18I've been a hustler before I knew what a
- 0:19hustler was. You know what I mean? In
- 0:21elementary school, I'm selling candy
- 0:23bars. I'm going to the store getting non
- 0:24liters of Starburst. breaking the pack
- 0:27down before I knew what breaking the
- 0:28pack down was,
- 0:29>> right? You know what I mean? Selling
- 0:31pieces, coming back with more money. Uh,
- 0:34junior high school, I kind of began to
- 0:36elevate my my my hustle mentality and my
- 0:41first distractions of the streets. Uh, a
- 0:44certain guy I knew sold drugs. You came
- 0:46to school fly. I came to him with a
- 0:49proposition. I took my candy money, you
- 0:52know what I mean? I said, "Hey, look,
- 0:53man. I give you 200." you know what I
- 0:55mean? You go do what you do and we split
- 0:57the profit. He was like, "Cool." So he
- 1:00went and did what he did and I got I
- 1:03began to trinkle down the path of
- 1:07you like more negativity with my hustle
- 1:09mindset. You feel what I'm saying?
- 1:12>> Uh
- 1:14that mindset
- 1:16led to me getting active in in in that
- 1:18world at a young age. It was I didn't
- 1:21have a long career at a young age, but I
- 1:23got act I got activated at a young age
- 1:27in that field. Uh
- 1:29uh but the lifestyle I was living, you
- 1:32know, I'm playing sports, right?
- 1:34>> You know, I'm a good I'm a good kid
- 1:35basically.
- 1:37>> Uh I'm not in the streets, so it didn't
- 1:40really fit me. I wasn't going to nobody
- 1:41hood to post up or nothing like that. So
- 1:44I switched my hustle to marijuana.
- 1:46>> How does this progress? So your my my
- 1:48mind frame is is is morphing, right?
- 1:52Manifestation is real. I'm thinking
- 1:54about, you know, so and so that that
- 1:57pushed to work and got the nice whip.
- 1:59I'm thinking about so and so that did so
- 2:01and so in the streets and people look at
- 2:03him a certain way. This is what's
- 2:06revolving around my mindset. So I be I
- 2:08start to become that. I start to become
- 2:11that as I start getting in the field,
- 2:13you know, uh getting my money or
- 2:14whatnot. I got to protect my money, you
- 2:17know what I mean? So, I got to have
- 2:18something to protect my money,
- 2:20>> right?
- 2:20>> And uh I just began, man, to slowly to
- 2:24slowly morph into somebody that's not
- 2:27me,
- 2:28>> right?
- 2:28>> I don't glorify that lifestyle. And I
- 2:31It's crazy because the lifestyle is so
- 2:33glorified that I feel like
- 2:35subconsciously it does cause me to move
- 2:38and say and and be a certain way for the
- 2:41perception, but we shouldn't applaud it.
- 2:44But because the masses applaud it, it's
- 2:46like it still hit your core some kind of
- 2:48way, right? I got to move with this
- 2:50thing now. Guys can't think it's sweet,
- 2:53>> right?
- 2:53>> I might not even use it. Who knows? But
- 2:55you need to know that I got it.
- 2:57>> Everybody else has one
- 2:58>> and you need to think that I will use
- 2:59it,
- 3:00>> right?
- 3:00>> So I'm I'm being a certain character. My
- 3:04clay is being molded, but the figure
- 3:07that I'm creating, the image I'm
- 3:09creating ain't what my destiny is all
- 3:11about. You feel me? But at the time,
- 3:14that's what it is. So, boom, I catch a
- 3:17gun case. I go to the feds.
- 3:20>> How what how do you catch a gun case?
- 3:22How does that happen?
- 3:24>> Pull over. What? You know?
- 3:25>> Okay. So, bam. And it's crazy because
- 3:29this certain side of town that I had my
- 3:32biggest collision with, at the time I
- 3:35catch my gun case, that's who I'm with.
- 3:39But everything was good at the time,
- 3:40>> right? You know what I'm saying?
- 3:42uh they had already did some activities
- 3:45later in the day that I didn't know
- 3:47about
- 3:49>> like a robbery or or they had an issue
- 3:51with somebody else or
- 3:51>> they didn't you know they got opposition
- 3:54in the streets you know different rival
- 3:56neighborhoods from certain situations
- 3:57and it' be on it was a sport beef with
- 4:01>> it was a sport that's the other team let
- 4:02me take a shot see if I score that's
- 4:05what it was for real but they was having
- 4:07their sport
- 4:09>> later in the daytime and I'm not knowing
- 4:11they've in hooping earlier and they come
- 4:13pick me up and it's just natural to ride
- 4:16with the thing.
- 4:16>> Right. Right. So, uh I hop in the car,
- 4:19you know, with the thing.
- 4:21We riding by a popular gas station, uh
- 4:25AMO, third for names, you know, it was
- 4:27like the strip back in the day. And uh I
- 4:30heard somebody say like the police,
- 4:32something about the police. So, we turn
- 4:34into the lot. Turn into the lot, park at
- 4:38a gas pump, everybody get out. I got my
- 4:41fire on me, right?
- 4:41>> The police ain't made it into the lot
- 4:43yet. So, I'm so It's It's a Glock, man.
- 4:47Oh my god, it was so pretty. I was so in
- 4:49love with this gun that when I go in the
- 4:51store, I knew the dude that worked
- 4:53there. When I go in the store, I don't
- 4:55even say like, "Okay, put it behind the
- 4:57chips or whatever and just be cool." I'm
- 4:59like, "Look, they didn't see me get out
- 5:01the car. I'm cool. I'm keeping my thing
- 5:04on me and when they move around, then
- 5:06I'll move around." I'm in the store. The
- 5:10cop come inside the store. He say, "Uh,
- 5:13hey, you number five. I had on a fuboo
- 5:15jersey,
- 5:15>> right?
- 5:16>> This how long ago it was." He said,
- 5:18"Step outside real quick." So, I step
- 5:20outside that, uh, you know, they looking
- 5:24at the car. I'm like, I wasn't in that
- 5:26car. I had called my can folk like,
- 5:28"Hey, pull up." You know what I mean?
- 5:29This is what's going on. So, when they
- 5:31pulled me out the store, by that time
- 5:32she had pulled up. I'm like, "I'm not in
- 5:34that car." car. I said, "This my ride
- 5:36over here, right?" But they still kind
- 5:38of keep me to the sidewalk and they
- 5:40looking into the car. I got out the car
- 5:42so fast I had a blunt in the door handle
- 5:47or the passenger door handle to where I
- 5:51didn't take it with me when I went in
- 5:52the store.
- 5:52>> Right.
- 5:52>> So when they doing this with the
- 5:54flashlight,
- 5:55>> they see the blunt.
- 5:56>> Yeah.
- 5:56>> That's probable cause to search who they
- 5:59believe was in his vehicle. So they
- 6:01start patting down the guy, you know, to
- 6:04the left of me and the guy that was in
- 6:08between us and and when they was doing
- 6:10that the whole time, I was getting
- 6:11already ready to, you know what I mean?
- 6:14I took flight. Bam.
- 6:15>> Okay. You know what [laughter] I mean? I
- 6:17take flight. Bam. Uh my cousin, I see
- 6:20her eyes in the from the side view. She
- 6:22like, "Oh my god." Uh
- 6:24so they behind me, right? And while they
- 6:27behind me the whole time I'm reaching
- 6:29cuz I know I got to get this thing off
- 6:31me. Get rid of it.
- 6:32>> I got to get it off me. But I ain't
- 6:33going to expose it. But I'm getting it
- 6:34ready. So soon as I hit a blind spot,
- 6:37>> I can do what I got to do. I done ran
- 6:39across the street behind a store, across
- 6:41another street behind a bank and I just
- 6:42can't get that pathway to, you know, do
- 6:44my thing. So at the like the last
- 6:46minute, I turned a corner behind the
- 6:48bank and uh I I throw it. I don't know
- 6:51if they see me, if they didn't see me,
- 6:53you know what I mean? But I throw it.
- 6:54Boom. It's like a bush, but it's a
- 6:56concrete bush by the It's a bush on top
- 6:58of concrete, you know, by the side of a
- 7:00store. And uh after I throw it, I cross
- 7:02another street by Burger King, and they
- 7:05just tackle me. They tackled the [ __ ]
- 7:08out of me. And uh I'm thinking I'm cool.
- 7:11They did a scan of the perimeter, found
- 7:13the gun, deface firearm, and uh I did
- 7:17Fed time for that. 46 months in the
- 7:19feds.
- 7:20>> Cuz you're a felon.
- 7:21>> Yeah,
- 7:21>> cuz you're a felon. Possession of
- 7:22firearm. Exactly. 46 months.
- 7:25>> Yeah.
- 7:26>> So, listen. This is where it gets
- 7:27serious at I do my fed time.
- 7:32My younger brother gets caught up in a
- 7:36sticky situation. One that I'm not going
- 7:38to speak on at all. I'm not going to
- 7:42speak on it.
- 7:44Not to deny the viewers of this core
- 7:48substance, but I've been home four years
- 7:51now, right?
- 7:52>> I came home with a book, a book series,
- 7:56doing podcast, pumping my story.
- 8:00And throughout pumping my story
- 8:03without it being my intent, I have
- 8:05harmed so many people
- 8:07because through sharing my story, I'm
- 8:09sharing events that people have grieved
- 8:12through. Okay.
- 8:14>> Right. But I being part of these events,
- 8:18so I'm sharing my experiences, but me
- 8:20sharing my experiences is grieving you
- 8:23again. Right. And I come to the point to
- 8:27man to where I value relationships
- 8:32more than advertisement.
- 8:34>> Right.
- 8:34>> Right. So, I'mma move forward with my
- 8:38story
- 8:40respectful
- 8:42enough, like respect to the max enough
- 8:44to where me sharing it don't cause you
- 8:47tears or emotional
- 8:50whatever.
- 8:51>> Okay?
- 8:51>> You feel what I'm saying?
- 8:52>> Yeah.
- 8:53>> So, that's why I ain't going to share
- 8:54the details of that. Uh, but he got a
- 8:57situation to where, hey, he's kind of
- 9:00like a target,
- 9:01>> right? We know a certain, you know, area
- 9:04guys want to get action, you know, with
- 9:06him. When I'm gone during my time, he's
- 9:09gone during his time. We come home
- 9:10approximately the same time. I came home
- 9:12two months before he did. So, when he
- 9:14come home, let me not go too far. His
- 9:18story is about bro,
- 9:20>> right?
- 9:20>> So, let me dive a little deeper into
- 9:23bro. bro
- 9:26is man standup dude genuine dude funny
- 9:31dude you know what I mean how you
- 9:33cracking up uh at the same time he don't
- 9:35need no messing with you know that hey
- 9:37this ain't the dude to try like that uh
- 9:41music
- 9:42he's a beast he's the reason that I even
- 9:46like experimented with music you know uh
- 9:49I seen that as bro's outlet to being his
- 9:54best self one day, you know. So, uh,
- 9:58stepping into the lane for him, I end up
- 10:01picking up a craft of my own, but you
- 10:03know, initially it was more so like so I
- 10:05can push this music and broken shine in
- 10:08his own light.
- 10:09>> Do you use Bitcoin? I think one of the
- 10:11biggest mistakes people make with
- 10:12Bitcoin is feeling like they have to sit
- 10:14there watching the price all day trying
- 10:17to figure out the perfect time to buy.
- 10:18For me, I'd rather keep things simple.
- 10:20And that's where Cash App makes a lot of
- 10:22sense. If Bitcoin is part of your

- 11:02app/legal/mpodcast.
- 11:05But like I said, he come home
- 11:08activities is going on.
- 11:11So, it's like we moving, chasing this uh
- 11:17this dream with one foot, but the other
- 11:20foot is like still being tugged into the
- 11:22streets. We don't want it to be there,
- 11:24but it's like we got to be ready to
- 11:25plant our foot because we know that it
- 11:28is there, right? Uh
- 11:33me and bro, we end up putting out our
- 11:36first CD together.
- 11:38DB and Ra, talk of the streets. I mean,
- 11:42this was a huge accomplishment. When I
- 11:45tell you huge accomplishment, it's like
- 11:47we was them guys, man. You know, uh I
- 11:51remember when I went and picked up the
- 11:52CDs, you know, it was, you know, boxes
- 11:54of them when I got back to the crib
- 11:57called Broside, you know, I mean, we
- 11:59sliced them things open, man. And and
- 12:01and just seeing oursel, you know, on the
- 12:05cases of these CDs, it's like, man, we
- 12:08the best product out here, right? So, we
- 12:10in the streets all day, you know,
- 12:13celebrating, you know, selling our CDs
- 12:15prematurely.
- 12:16>> So, what do you mean prematurely?
- 12:18Because the the release date for the
- 12:20CDs, it it wasn't that. We just received
- 12:22them in the mail, right? But we had
- 12:24already advertised the release date, I
- 12:27believe, was July 7th, 2007. 777,
- 12:31>> but we had received them on June 28th,
- 12:35>> right?
- 12:35>> Yeah.
- 12:36>> So, we still got some time to actually
- 12:37release them, but we got them. So, we
- 12:39just in the streets and like, you know,
- 12:41doing our thing, right?
- 12:42>> Yeah.
- 12:43>> Let me tell you about this day. This is
- 12:44like how you know it's something up
- 12:46there, man. that really be like pulling
- 12:48the strings for what go on down here. We
- 12:51don't know what's going to happen the
- 12:52next day. But this day, we get to see
- 12:56these early.
- 12:58Uh we in traffic. Soon as we get in
- 13:02traffic, my bro DB, uh he see like his
- 13:05high school sweetheart. Like at that
- 13:07time, if there's the most important
- 13:10woman in his life, even though they
- 13:11weren't together, it was a certain
- 13:12woman, right? Uh, and we seen her
- 13:15randomly, right? Tried to get her to buy
- 13:17the CD and she said she didn't she
- 13:19didn't have no money, right? Whatever.
- 13:21But we seen her though. We pull off from
- 13:23her. We see moms, you know, me and bro,
- 13:27same mom. Uh,
- 13:29it was special, I say, because, you
- 13:32know, we was moving and grooving in the
- 13:34street so much to where it's like we
- 13:36would see her separately. She might stop
- 13:37by the house. One of us is there or
- 13:40whatever. Or we might stop by her house,
- 13:41but we're not together. Uh but we did
- 13:45see her together, but it was more so
- 13:46planned. You know what I mean? Like,
- 13:47"Hey, bro. Let's go check on mom."
- 13:48>> Mhm.
- 13:49>> This day was randomly, right? We driving
- 13:51down the street, we see mom's uh uh you
- 13:56know, we flash CDs on her or whatever.
- 13:59We pull over. She had a daycare. We pull
- 14:00over to her daycare. You know, we give
- 14:02her the CDs, tell her to put them up.
- 14:04You know what I mean? this one listen to
- 14:05this one put up for like a souvenir and
- 14:07you know we tell her bro did most of the
- 14:09you know talking to her like hey we
- 14:10going to make you rich you know what I
- 14:12mean like like mom you ain't got to
- 14:14worry about nothing right
- 14:15>> everything is good
- 14:17>> boom we pull off from moms I don't know
- 14:21I don't remember which order but we see
- 14:22my dad me and broke got different dads
- 14:24we see my dad he had a car wash he it
- 14:27was so funny he had two girls watching
- 14:28this car uh and he was kind of like
- 14:31trying to flex about it or whatnot we
- 14:33see pops Uh-huh. You know what I mean? I
- 14:36ain't going to lie. We sold Pops a CD.
- 14:38Pops bought a CD. After we see my pops,
- 14:42we see his pops.
- 14:43>> Mhm.
- 14:44>> Like literally like two blocks apart.
- 14:47Car wash here, Dy's liquor store here.
- 14:50Uh we sell his pops to CD. You know what
- 14:53I mean? Uh we get in traffic. The number
- 14:56one guy that that his activities with
- 14:59>> Mhm.
- 15:00>> we see him at the stoplight. and tell
- 15:02him.
- 15:03>> Bro said, "Hey [ __ ]
- 15:05>> do you want to buy one of these?"
- 15:07[laughter]
- 15:09>> Me and Sauce in the car rolling.
- 15:12We pull off. Of course, he don't buy
- 15:14one.
- 15:15We pull off. Bam. Next day,
- 15:22I got a contract with this CD store.
- 15:24It's Homers. It's like a regional. I
- 15:26think they're regional. They might pass
- 15:28up. Uh a CD store, you know. I got a
- 15:32contract with them for them to sell the
- 15:33music. I get up early in the morning,
- 15:37grab some products, some CDs to take to
- 15:40their store. So, the street I live on,
- 15:43it's like a dead end uh L-shaped
- 15:46intersection at the end. I pull off,
- 15:50I hit the L of the intersection, and as
- 15:53I'm pulling up to the actual
- 15:54intersection, I'm supposed to turn left
- 15:56so I can go drop off these CDs to this
- 15:58store. But I get a phone call from my
- 16:01sister. She calm as I am too cuz what
- 16:06she's about to say is some [ __ ]
- 16:08She said, "Bro," she said, "Get over to
- 16:11bro house talking about uh
- 16:14old girl just called talking about he's
- 16:16trying to hang yourself."
- 16:20I said, "What,
- 16:22man? What is you bullshitting or what?"
- 16:26No, that's what she just told me.
- 16:29All right, I'm about to call her. Some
- 16:31[ __ ] I know it's some [ __ ] Uh
- 16:34before I could call the girl, who is the
- 16:37girl? It's supposed to be girlfriend.
- 16:39Okay. At the at the time,
- 16:42my mom is calling me. My mom is crying.
- 16:46She's distraught. This ain't no calm
- 16:48energy. Said, "Get over to the house."
- 16:51Like, Tyrese, Tyrese, like what the
- 16:55[ __ ] Like, now hold on. My emotions
- 16:57getting disturbed. This [ __ ] seeming too
- 16:59real. I hang up with her. I caught a
- 17:02girl. Hey, what's going on over there?
- 17:07Tyrese is trying to hang himself.
- 17:12My sister said trying. I don't know if I
- 17:14I skipped that.
- 17:14>> Yeah. No, you said trash.
- 17:15>> Okay. But now the girl was saying he's
- 17:17trying to hang himself. Like this word
- 17:19trying. What the [ __ ] do you mean he's
- 17:21trying? It's not an emergency then,
- 17:22[ __ ] I'm sorry. Go stop him.
- 17:24>> Right.
- 17:25>> Right. So if she talking about he's
- 17:27trying, I hang up on her. I call her I
- 17:30called a 911.
- 17:31>> I was just thinking, why are you calling
- 17:32the police?
- 17:33>> Cuz this [ __ ] ain't real. If if not you,
- 17:35but physically her, if she can't stop a
- 17:38grown man, then why aren't you calling
- 17:39the police?
- 17:40>> Yes. And we going to get into that.
- 17:42>> Okay.
- 17:43>> Right. So bam, I hang up on her. I call
- 17:45911. Get over to such and such address.
- 17:48You know, uh it's emergency going on. My
- 17:51saying it don't even feel right. Sound
- 17:53right. Like this [ __ ] just ain't making
- 17:55sense. I'm with my guy at the time. My
- 17:56guy Jojo, he was driving. I'm like, I'm
- 17:58smacking the dash. I'm like, [ __ ]
- 18:00drive. You know what I mean? He gone.
- 18:01Boom. We pull up to the house. Same time
- 18:04the ambulance did. Uh, and it so pissed
- 18:08me off so much. We pull up, they getting
- 18:10out the thing all casual and like having
- 18:13side talking and what the [ __ ] It's
- 18:14emergency here. I rush a bone like, "Hey
- 18:17man, get in the house." Like for real.
- 18:20Right.
- 18:21>> So boom, I follow them in the house.
- 18:25When I get in the house, I see moms,
- 18:26man. Moms is like sliding down the wall
- 18:30like one of them scary movie kind of
- 18:34vibes, you know, horrific type [ __ ]
- 18:36She's sliding down the wall like crying
- 18:38in my mind. Why is she doing that,
- 18:41>> right?
- 18:42>> This [ __ ] ain't real. No, chill out. You
- 18:44know this can't happen to us. Bam. I
- 18:48start going down the stairs. I see bro.
- 18:53Bro laying there
- 18:55like he's sleep. I'm halfway down the
- 18:58stairs. He like at the bottom of the
- 18:59stairs off to the left a little bit. He
- 19:01laying there like he's sleep.
- 19:04It was peaceful. It didn't It didn't
- 19:06feel traumatic. It like he going to wake
- 19:07up.
- 19:08>> Yeah.
- 19:09>> But I see him. It's a couple of my guys
- 19:11that was around my sister. They was
- 19:13closer. They got there before me. And
- 19:16you know, everybody's in the same energy
- 19:17like like, man, like it ain't it ain't a
- 19:20good vibe. But the girl,
- 19:24this supposed to be your boyfriend. You
- 19:26ain't up close grieving on the ground
- 19:27crying. She's in the cut
- 19:31like this covered like more so watching
- 19:33people. I don't see the emotion in her
- 19:35face, right? But so much is going on to
- 19:39where that ain't my focal point. My
- 19:41focal point is bro. They get a post on
- 19:44bro.
- 19:46First he didn't have a post. They get a
- 19:47post on broke. Me and my guy Sauce would
- 19:50go outside. We in the driveway
- 19:52and and Sauce like
- 19:55Sauce like hey we got to start kicking
- 19:57it with DB more man when he when he come
- 19:59out the hospital.
- 20:01I said [ __ ] we [ __ ] DB up when he
- 20:04get out the hospital. And I ain't gonna
- 20:06say it like too aggressively cuz bro had
- 20:08them hands. And for real he was a little
- 20:09brother but he was bigger than me. We
- 20:11ain't never had no kind of clash like
- 20:12that. But hey, it if I was victorious,
- 20:16if he was not my brother, it wouldn't be
- 20:18an easy time, bro. It's like that. You
- 20:20know what I mean? So, I ain't saying it
- 20:21like we was going to [ __ ] bro up like
- 20:23that. But because of what's going on,
- 20:25what I didn't heard, [ __ ] you going
- 20:26you got to whoop me then cuz I'm about
- 20:28to see about you. You You did this.
- 20:32That's the only reality I had to tap
- 20:33into at the time was he tried to do this
- 20:36to himself.
- 20:38So we get to the hospital,
- 20:40they got him on the machine and all of
- 20:42that. Uh we are
- 20:47like taking turns to go to the back to
- 20:49see him, you know, because it's a lot of
- 20:52us and you know whatever. So at this
- 20:54time my sister is back there seeing him.
- 20:58My sister come from the back and tell me
- 21:01like, "Hey,
- 21:04come here.
- 21:05You got to see this." I'm like, "What?"
- 21:07She like, "Come here." She got the
- 21:10serious vibe about her. We go back
- 21:13there. She pull the sheets off of him.
- 21:16His knees scarred up. Please remind me
- 21:20to send you the pictures. This ain't
- 21:21just talk.
- 21:21>> Okay.
- 21:22>> His knees scarred up. His shins, one of
- 21:26his shins is is scraped to me. I say,
- 21:29"Man, like he been dragged down the
- 21:30stairs." That's the first thought to
- 21:31come to me. You know what I mean? He was
- 21:33found in the basement, too.
- 21:35uh his hands like blood splatter on the
- 21:39backside of his fingers and and on his
- 21:42you know fingernails and up under his
- 21:44nails. Bro is getting down with
- 21:46somebody,
- 21:47>> right?
- 21:48>> This ain't no goddamn me. Uh I already
- 21:51knew that though. I just needed to hear
- 21:53it. I needed to see the outlet for
- 21:55something else so that I can really
- 21:56grasp onto it. Uh so bam.
- 22:00I'mma fast forward just a little bit.
- 22:02Some more clues.
- 22:04not only the wounds he had on him, but
- 22:07it came to be that the woman who was
- 22:10there when he was allegedly hanging
- 22:12himself. Uh when they asked her what
- 22:15occurred, like not take her in for
- 22:18questioning for interrogation, but he
- 22:21was at the house. Like just tell us what
- 22:22occurred. You're not a suspect.
- 22:25>> She lies about her name.
- 22:29>> Okay. Okay. So, if your boyfriend just
- 22:30honked himself, what what goddamn
- 22:34triggers you to lie about your name?
- 22:37Bam. We see the we see the wounds on bro
- 22:40at the hospital. We take the girl phone.
- 22:42She's there playing a role. We take the
- 22:45girl phone. Uh her call log before she
- 22:50called my mom or my sis. Now listen, I
- 22:52don't remember the exact order of this
- 22:54of this, but it was she placed a private
- 22:56phone call like pressing star 67 and she
- 22:59also received a private phone call.
- 23:02Okay? Before one of those private phone
- 23:04calls, I mean before ever calling my
- 23:06sister or making her reach out to the
- 23:09family or police before that phone call,
- 23:12one of her private calls took place. All
- 23:14right. Right.
- 23:15>> She got the private phone call or made
- 23:17it or received it. I don't know which
- 23:18way. And then she made the call to my
- 23:21sister. Then she made the call to my
- 23:24mom. I'm looking at her call log. All
- 23:25right. Next on her call log is me
- 23:28calling her. All right. After that call,
- 23:33there was another
- 23:35>> private call.
- 23:35>> Private call. And then there was 911.
- 23:41>> Okay.
- 23:41>> Why you got room for all of these extra
- 23:44phone calls anyway if this is an
- 23:46emergency?
- 23:48On top of that, what's up with the
- 23:50private phone calls? Why are you
- 23:52pressing star 67?
- 23:54>> Right?
- 23:54>> Your boyfriend laying down here supposed
- 23:56to be lifeless and you mean to tell me
- 23:58you get on your phone and press star 67.
- 24:02>> Oh, and who who are those going to?
- 24:05>> Never found out.
- 24:06>> Okay.
- 24:06>> Fast forward to my trial. They did all
- 24:08their research, all that detective work.
- 24:10You know what I mean? Who the phone
- 24:12calls was going to.
- 24:14don't know who the phone calls went to
- 24:16when this I'mma get too far ahead, but
- 24:19we gonna backtrack.
- 24:21They don't know who the who the phone
- 24:23calls is is is
- 24:26tied to when this white woman
- 24:30is caught up in her situation.
- 24:33>> Okay?
- 24:34>> And the and the result is death.
- 24:37But fast forward when
- 24:41the result ain't death but the result is
- 24:44this white woman was wounded this and
- 24:47listen dude I ain't nothing about me
- 24:49racist race racist but I see the racism
- 24:52in this situation right black guy die
- 24:57white woman suspect
- 24:59you don't know who the causes to
- 25:04white woman harmed
- 25:07survived.
- 25:09You find out who every call is to,
- 25:11>> right? You feel what I'm saying? Her dad
- 25:16was best friends with a homicide
- 25:17detective.
- 25:19All right, but I went too far. Now,
- 25:20let's back it up.
- 25:21>> Okay, so your brother, he's still in the
- 25:24hospital,
- 25:26>> right?
- 25:26>> You've got her phone. Did you guys ever
- 25:29Did you ask her what the who who are
- 25:30these going to?
- 25:31>> So, listen. I ain't going to lie to you.
- 25:34I told you earlier in my interview, the
- 25:36streets are kind of wart me and I'm not
- 25:38that guy. I'm not that I'm not that you
- 25:41see me run and and be scared like I'm
- 25:43that's not my energy, right? But I mean
- 25:46even a coward to do the most treacherous
- 25:48type of [ __ ] So it don't matter what
- 25:50you are at your core. I guess people
- 25:52knew that I would do certain things if
- 25:54press if it pushed to the limits. Uh and
- 25:57a situation came
- 26:00that pushed me to the limit.
- 26:02I was my scariest then. People were
- 26:05scared to talk to me, right? Back up
- 26:09hospital.
- 26:12Boom. We see we see what's going on. We
- 26:16see that this ain't no suicide
- 26:20and my thug mentality.
- 26:24And my thug mentality
- 26:26and my want to be Superman mentality.
- 26:29But Superman to my culture didn't always
- 26:31mean doing something good, right? But my
- 26:34people was going to be good when I did
- 26:36what I did. Uh I said, "Man, I'm about
- 26:39to It's evident. It's in my face. I'm
- 26:41about to I got to
- 26:43You know what I mean? What they say? If
- 26:44you catch your spouse cheating or
- 26:46something, they can say that it's um
- 26:48>> Oh, yeah. It's a crime of passion.
- 26:49>> Crime of passion.
- 26:50>> So, you're overwhelmed at the moment."
- 26:52>> I was about to have me a crime of
- 26:53passion at the hospital,
- 26:55>> right?
- 26:56>> Like for real. So I holl at holl at my
- 26:58guy Sauce, my aunt Kapuli, you know what
- 27:01I mean? I tell him what it was about to
- 27:02go down and uh you know Sauce had this
- 27:06ain't no crime take place with this
- 27:08situation. So you know I mean I can
- 27:10speak on that. I get to this ang and uh
- 27:14I go upstairs about to be Superman.
- 27:17The girl is gone.
- 27:20My auntie
- 27:22told the girl like you need to get up
- 27:24out of here. She's the church woman, you
- 27:26know. She whatever. She felt the vibe.
- 27:28Nobody told her.
- 27:28>> Yeah. Yeah. She just knew things were
- 27:30going bad. You guys had the phone.
- 27:32>> Yeah.
- 27:32>> That you could like you could sense it.
- 27:34>> Intuition. You feel something
- 27:36something's about to
- 27:36>> She felt something. I mean, I get off
- 27:38the elevator. It's like my soul is
- 27:40escalating at the time, right? Because I
- 27:43know soon as the elevator open,
- 27:46I don't know if it's right there on the
- 27:47spot. I don't know what it look like,
- 27:49but I know that upon contact with this
- 27:52woman who stole my brother from me, I'm
- 27:56about to do her in.
- 28:00Gender don't matter. Like I I said in
- 28:02another podcast, when it come to taking
- 28:04a love, when ginger don't matter. So, I
- 28:06get off this elevator like I'm about to
- 28:07do her in.
- 28:09>> She's gone.
- 28:10>> Hold up. Let me say this right now
- 28:12because after other interviews and stuff
- 28:14like that, I I tell myself, be conscious
- 28:16of the message you're spreading. Come
- 28:18on, man. Ain't no glorification. And I
- 28:22got to mean that when I say that ain't
- 28:23no glorification on the act committed,
- 28:26right? That's the background of this
- 28:28story. The forefront of this story is
- 28:31you got a black man who has been his
- 28:35death has been labeled aside when
- 28:37everything shows you it's not. And it's
- 28:40like it's kicked to the side because you
- 28:42know who the suspect is and who her
- 28:44family is. You know what I mean? And
- 28:46also the forefront of this story is I
- 28:48got a canful we gonna get off into it
- 28:50that's locked up right now with the same
- 28:54sentence I had and he's innocent.
- 28:58These are the forefront topics. What I
- 29:01did ain't no gangster [ __ ] I let a
- 29:03woman survive.
- 29:06Okay. So what what what happens after
- 29:08you get up there? She's not there. You
- 29:11You try and look for her because what
- 29:13did they what is there a detective? Did
- 29:16the cops come at all? Do they do any
- 29:17investig?
- 29:18>> Oh, yes, man. So, I might ramble a
- 29:20little bit. The the the doctors told us
- 29:24he didn't hang himself. There is no
- 29:27internal neck trauma. There is no trauma
- 29:29to the neck.
- 29:30>> Right.
- 29:30>> How he didn't hang himself? The police
- 29:33Yeah, we talked to the cops. Understand
- 29:35me? Uh, the police told us the girl, I
- 29:39ain't going to say her last name cuz I
- 29:40don't know how much leeway I got, but
- 29:42they say the blank girl has been known
- 29:44about other situations, whatever, with
- 29:46boyfriends or whatnot. Uh, so I I
- 29:50believe this may be before. I don't know
- 29:51if it's before or after, man. My mind is
- 29:53all over the place, but you know, when I
- 29:55wanted to, you know, confront her or
- 29:58whatnot. Uh, like get off the elevator,
- 30:00man. She's nowhere in sight. Now we're
- 30:04just like in limbo mode, right? And
- 30:09while we're in limbo mode, he's on a
- 30:11machine. So, can he snap back?
- 30:14>> Mhm.
- 30:14>> Or can he not?
- 30:15>> Right.
- 30:16>> It's in the air. The doctors came out
- 30:18and said that uh he had been
- 30:22his brain had been too long without
- 30:24oxygen,
- 30:25>> right?
- 30:26>> And the damage sustained was
- 30:27irreversible.
- 30:30Man, you don't even understand the place
- 30:32I went to. It's like I disappeared,
- 30:36shriveled up, melted down, like poured
- 30:40into a hole
- 30:43and it was dark
- 30:45and I was just there for a minute.
- 30:50I remember sitting in the car that night
- 30:53uh
- 30:55a guy was at the hospital when my bro
- 30:57was going through the that transitioning
- 31:00phase and I remember he asked me if I
- 31:02wanted a drink. Said he has a drink in
- 31:04the car and I was like no man cool. I
- 31:07got on the elevator. As soon as I got on
- 31:08the elevator I said [ __ ] that. I I do
- 31:10need a drink. I I open the back. I said
- 31:13yeah let me get that. Boom. Go
- 31:15downstairs to the car. I'm sitting in
- 31:17the driver seat of his car. my
- 31:18girlfriend,
- 31:21my baby mom. [ __ ] was complicated. My
- 31:23baby mom was in the passenger seat and
- 31:26uh remember I was start I was drinking
- 31:31and I just start praying out loud in an
- 31:34angry fashion, talking to God,
- 31:38you know, very angrily.
- 31:44pose myself real quick cuz I just
- 31:47remembered that feeling.
- 31:51Uh,
- 31:55I'm talking to God very angrily.
- 31:58Like, God, how like
- 32:01like whatever. Like, give me whatever in
- 32:03my path next, man. Just don't do this.
- 32:06Just don't do this right here.
- 32:23And he did it.
- 32:31Hey, this is crazy. I thought I was past
- 32:34the emotional stage.
- 32:43Damn, this [ __ ] crazy.
- 32:49I remember getting mad,
- 32:52praying but in an angry way
- 32:56and ask him to change it and told him
- 32:59I'll take on whatever if you change it
- 33:03and
- 33:06it stuck
- 33:10and that's when I got stuck.
- 33:14Like I said, man, I ain't no bad dude or
- 33:16nothing,
- 33:18but uh I got to get it together, though.
- 33:21I'm tripping.
- 33:23>> You want to take a break?
- 33:24>> No, I'm cool. We going to keep rolling.
- 33:27She say me could cry. [ __ ]
- 33:31But I get stuck though.
- 33:34And it's just whatever.
- 33:37It's just whatever. But anybody with
- 33:39everybody.
- 33:41And we had a problem from when I was in
- 33:42kindergarten. when they get on matter,
- 33:51but there was a certain section
- 33:54that was kind of in the leeway of that
- 33:56activity, man, due to the due to the,
- 33:59you know, sticky situation that bro was
- 34:01caught in before. Uh so we kind of had
- 34:04you know numerous clashes with the same
- 34:06people but you know it was so many
- 34:09stories man in the streets that what
- 34:12could have took place you know this from
- 34:14that and you know they had a problem
- 34:16about you know this situation and the
- 34:19girl dad didn't like him because of you
- 34:22know this or whatever and
- 34:26then stuff I done heard from the
- 34:28neighbors
- 34:30like I mean I I got So many different
- 34:33stories, man.
- 34:36Everybody that had a bone to pick aren't
- 34:39guilty. And I came to one conclusion
- 34:42that one person that is guilty
- 34:46is the woman that was there,
- 34:48>> right?
- 34:50>> You know what I mean? And I really hate
- 34:52that part of my story that I believe I
- 34:56think my most, you know, egregious act
- 34:58was like against a woman. You know, I
- 35:00don't I don't I don't like that. But
- 35:02like I said, man, that you can't get a
- 35:04pass though.
- 35:07[ __ ] You done flip-flopped my whole
- 35:10You done flip-flopped my whole
- 35:12[ __ ] life, my family life.
- 35:15Like, you can't get no pass [ __ ]
- 35:20So, uh, after my random
- 35:24aggression phase ended, it was just
- 35:28like, "Hey, listen. Got to get back on
- 35:30track." You know what I mean? And uh
- 35:34whatever life bring you to, it bring you
- 35:36to.
- 35:38And it just so happened that
- 35:41a situation dropped on my lap that I
- 35:44felt like could remedy, you know, all
- 35:47the pain and and grief that that I have
- 35:50been going through, that my mama had
- 35:52been going through, that my kids have
- 35:54been going through, that my sisters have
- 35:55been going through. by the gym. I get a
- 35:58phone call.
- 36:02Can't folk got her
- 36:05like not I see her. Hey, she's over by
- 36:08such and such. So,
- 36:09>> right,
- 36:09>> man. This dude called me said,
- 36:13"Hey, right. Hey, so listen. Can't folk
- 36:17got her."
- 36:19So, I'm in the gym. I'm like, "What the
- 36:21[ __ ] just happened?"
- 36:24I'm walking back and forth right on the
- 36:26phone. If they got the footage, like
- 36:28you'll see this. I'm walking back and
- 36:30forth on the phone like I'm just in
- 36:33shock like what?
- 36:36And then I'm on the way.
- 36:39That's it.
- 36:41So, bam. You know, I'm trying to find a
- 36:44spot, you know, to to do my desired plan
- 36:49at. and it was kind of dropped on me. So
- 36:52it wasn't just like I just know the
- 36:53spot. So while trying to find a spot,
- 36:57my can folk now I'm leading into how you
- 36:59got an innocent man locked up. How they
- 37:02got an innocent man locked up. I get a
- 37:04call from my can folk man and he tell me
- 37:07like man pull up. He's like pull up on
- 37:08me. So it's my can [ __ ] sauce. He's
- 37:11still locked up right now with 130
- 37:13years. The same sentence that I used to
- 37:15have.
- 37:18Uh, I pull up on him and he like, "Hey,
- 37:21man." He like, he like, "Hey, leave that
- 37:24[ __ ] Leave Leave that [ __ ] alone. It's
- 37:25a no-go." You know what I mean? He tell
- 37:27me what's going on. So when Rley kidnapp
- 37:32her, who's Sauc's brother,
- 37:36he kidnaps her. He had a couple female
- 37:39cousins with him when he did it. And
- 37:42those two female cousins end up taking
- 37:44the girl car using her credit cards at
- 37:47like gas stations and McDonald's and
- 37:49[ __ ] Right.
- 37:50>> Okay.
- 37:51>> So they they left a paper trail before
- 37:53anything even happened. Right. So Sauce
- 37:56got he he got his information however he
- 37:59got it and he called me when I pulled up
- 38:01on him like, "Hey man, like this it
- 38:03ain't no good." Right? So
- 38:07mind you again man I ain't no dark dude.
- 38:10I ain't no horrific dude. Ain't nobody
- 38:12scared when I walk in the room. But in
- 38:14that situation,
- 38:16you know, that's just the energy I was
- 38:18in. Uh uh
- 38:22I'm hearing what he's saying
- 38:25and it's sinking in, but that other
- 38:29energy ain't fully asleep.
- 38:32My logic is trying to click in like,
- 38:34leave that alone.
- 38:36So, and that's what I say.
- 38:39I said I said, "All right, all right,
- 38:42all right, but I still need to talk to
- 38:45her.
- 38:47I need some answers. I need to talk to
- 38:49her."
- 38:49>> So sauce like now, prior to going with
- 38:52Sauce,
- 38:54I already got my mind on what I'mma do.
- 38:56I'm going try to breeze through it cuz
- 38:58again, this is not the forefront. Uh I
- 39:01get a little kit together, right?
- 39:03Because I'm about to do a crime that I
- 39:05don't want to be identified for. Uh,
- 39:08bam. Bam. When I get sauce, I already
- 39:12got the kit and sauce is talking me out
- 39:14of doing what I got my mind on doing.
- 39:17Like I said, it makes sense. So, I
- 39:20regress, but I need to talk to her,
- 39:22though. This day ain't happen without me
- 39:24having a conversation at least, right?
- 39:27So I pull up
- 39:30where I had where I told Ken Folk to you
- 39:32know bring her to and I get there before
- 39:35him and I'm in my mind I'm like I'mma
- 39:38all right man I'mma talk to her I'll
- 39:39probably yell at her I might slap her I
- 39:41don't know but I'mma talk to her though.
- 39:44Uh
- 39:45but while I'm sitting waiting man I call
- 39:49it weakness whatever you want to call
- 39:51it. I don't know.
- 39:53I gave in. I said, "Man, [ __ ] that.
- 39:58I'm having the flashbacks of what the
- 39:59damage she done caused to my life. I
- 40:01ain't about to let this moment pass.
- 40:04I'll be all right." You know what I
- 40:06mean? I ain't the bad guy. This can't be
- 40:09it. I'm the good guy. I'm about to save
- 40:11the day. Uh, so I I get together, you
- 40:16know? So when he pull up, I can do my
- 40:17thing, you know. S try to talk me all of
- 40:20it, whatever. He He But he can't. out of
- 40:24I I got tunnel vision. You can't stop
- 40:26me. Dude pull up with her. Bam.
- 40:29Situation take place. We going to leave
- 40:30it at that. Boom.
- 40:34I got on a dread wig.
- 40:38I got on a a beanie cap. Pull it down
- 40:42with the holes, you know, like a
- 40:44makeshift mask. I got on a dread wig,
- 40:46though. I'm disguising my identity. I
- 40:48got on a little black outfit.
- 40:51Sauce.
- 40:54It got dreads for real.
- 40:57The girl know me like she know sauce.
- 40:59Like it's DB sauce and ra
- 41:04her in shock mine. She a short dude, a
- 41:07stocky dude with dreads coming out is
- 41:10mad. She think it's sauce,
- 41:12>> right? When the situation take place,
- 41:15she say sauce, you ain't got to do this,
- 41:19man. situation take place
- 41:23later on that night. Uh I'm at the crib.
- 41:26Me and my sister live together. Shout
- 41:28out to Lovey, my older sister. Uh
- 41:33it's late 3:00 or 4 in the morning. You
- 41:36know, I my mind is somewhere else,
- 41:38right? Cuz I know what just took place.
- 41:41But I'm being to myself. I'm at the
- 41:44laptop, got this beat playing, making up
- 41:47a song, talking about what I what my day
- 41:50has been like, but not too blatantly.
- 41:53Uh,
- 41:54sister won't go to sleep.
- 41:58She won't go to sleep at all. She
- 42:00walking back and forth from her room to
- 42:02the dining room to the living room. It's
- 42:033:4 in the morning. Like, what are you
- 42:05up for?
- 42:07>> Smoking a cigarette,
- 42:09smashing into a Pepsi can. ain't said
- 42:12nothing to me, but she just like won't
- 42:15go to sleep. Energy.
- 42:18Energy. She knew something, man. Oh,
- 42:23remember she went to the window. Front
- 42:25room window. Front room window.
- 42:29She turned around
- 42:32like it wasn't a big deal.
- 42:35Police outside.
- 42:38Say what?
- 42:42My [ __ ] beating.
- 42:44So bam, I go over there. I look out.
- 42:48Police outside. They got the [ __ ]
- 42:50flooded.
- 42:52Kind of like walk away. I don't know if
- 42:53I'm thinking what I'm doing, but I just
- 42:55like walk away. But it didn't take long
- 42:57at all. I had to step in the front.
- 43:00Walked away. Walked back to the door.
- 43:01Hey, man. It is what it is. I ain't
- 43:03[ __ ] I don't know how the [ __ ] they
- 43:05know. You know what I mean? But it is
- 43:08what it is. I did what I was supposed to
- 43:09do. Uh, I open up the front door. Bam.
- 43:12Step outside. You know, they like, "Put
- 43:15your hands up." All that. Bam. I put my
- 43:17hands up, you know. I turn around, you
- 43:20know, walk backwards, do all that kind
- 43:22of stuff like that. They got every light
- 43:24in America on me. Uh, they cuffed me,
- 43:28put me in the car. I had an Escalade at
- 43:31the time. So, remember Escalade? Maroon
- 43:33Escalade. Uh, it was said that a maroon
- 43:37Escalade, you know, such and such.
- 43:40So boom, they put me in the back of the
- 43:42cop car. They go search the house.
- 43:45Nieces and nephews outside crying.
- 43:48It's the This happened to them twice,
- 43:50man. That's so [ __ ] up. But this was
- 43:53the first time it happened to them. Uh,
- 43:55police go in, they come out, you know, I
- 44:00see them lingering in the street or
- 44:01whatever, and they come to the car I'm
- 44:03at, open up the back door, pull me out,
- 44:08and take my cuffs off.
- 44:14I'm like, what the [ __ ] is going on
- 44:16right now? Right.
- 44:17>> But I'm not going to say it. You know
- 44:18what I mean? What the [ __ ] I'm supposed
- 44:19to say? I'm just like,
- 44:22>> oh my god. Like, for real?
- 44:24Okay. Like, yeah, keep on going. I'm god
- 44:27Id want to run. You know what I mean?
- 44:30But they they taking the cuffs off. Oh,
- 44:34and they say,
- 44:36"Do I know Jamal Abram
- 44:40sauce, right?
- 44:43He's wanted for attempted murder."
- 44:47So, first of all, I'm thinking like,
- 44:49"What the [ __ ] do you mean attempted?"
- 44:51Right.
- 44:53And again, man, no,
- 44:57that [ __ ] ain't good. I'm happy that it
- 44:58that it didn't go through. Uh but in the
- 45:01in the moment, I'm like attempted. Like
- 45:04I I know what I did. I just [ __ ] over
- 45:06with.
- 45:06>> Mhm.
- 45:07>> But they saying attempted, though.
- 45:11I'm just puzzled like like the world is
- 45:13moving like I'm [ __ ] up. They pull
- 45:17off. If I'm in the middle of the street
- 45:18just standing there like, "Huh? How I'm
- 45:21going to call my campf right now?" The
- 45:23guy that was trying to talk me out of
- 45:25it,
- 45:27>> right,
- 45:28>> is wanted for it,
- 45:29>> right?
- 45:31>> I didn't listen when he tried to stop
- 45:33me.
- 45:34Now he got the bad end of the stick. How
- 45:37I'm supposed to call him right now?
- 45:39>> Right.
- 45:41>> But it was kind of like one of them
- 45:42situations when I'm going just keep it
- 45:44solid. You about to get in a fight or
- 45:45something. You don't think you're going
- 45:46to get the best cuz you know what I
- 45:47mean. But you still got to go though.
- 45:50You still got to go though. So I was
- 45:53faced with a challenge and I had to go.
- 45:56I called him like, "Hey, Ken F
- 46:01when they looking for I'm talking to
- 46:02third person." I said, "Man, they
- 46:04looking for sauce right now. Talking
- 46:06about some attempted murder shit."
- 46:09You know, he get to being excited. You
- 46:12know what I mean? talking real fast and
- 46:14he what the what the he said what like
- 46:16you know he just talking the words ain't
- 46:17even coming out
- 46:18>> right
- 46:19>> you know what I mean but I feel the
- 46:20energy though I'm like man listen man
- 46:22listen don't even worry about it you
- 46:25already don't worry about it you good
- 46:29come down a little bit but he's still
- 46:31frazzled
- 46:32uh
- 46:34escalade that's what brought him to
- 46:36where I was at uh so unbeknown to me at
- 46:41the time the girl survived,
- 46:44>> right?
- 46:45>> So that's where the car description come
- 46:46in at. So that's that's how they come to
- 46:49my to my residence. But she said sauce.
- 46:54>> Yeah.
- 46:54>> So that's why I'm let go, right?
- 46:57>> Yeah.
- 46:57>> But they take the vehicle though. Uh I
- 47:00step up for sauce like I'm supposed to.
- 47:02You know what I mean? I take him down to
- 47:03Kansas City and hey man, listen man, you
- 47:06know, whatever. Uh I get I did the
- 47:09standup guy type thing. gave him
- 47:10something substantial, you know what I
- 47:12mean? Be good, you know what I mean?
- 47:14Stay out of the way, my guy. Uh, take me
- 47:16down to KC. From KC, he fly down to uh,
- 47:21Atlanta, Georgia. And, uh, he end up
- 47:24getting caught in Atlanta. Got call on
- 47:27his birthday. It's crazy. He caught in
- 47:29Atlanta.
- 47:31So, he's the first to get caught. But
- 47:34who kidnapped her?
- 47:37He is a family member that wasn't like
- 47:39part of our daily circle. So he's not
- 47:43identified. I'm in the clear. He's
- 47:46sauces allegedly the shooter.
- 47:48>> Right.
- 47:48>> What they say in the case they they end
- 47:50up trying to say that I was the
- 47:53mastermind that I manipulated the
- 47:56situation. I told him, "Hey, you do
- 47:58this." And told him, "Hey," you know
- 48:00what I mean? Not true though.
- 48:01>> You Yeah. He got caught in uh Georgia.
- 48:04[snorts]
- 48:04>> Also got caught in Atlanta.
- 48:06>> Yeah. Yeah. Strange situation how he got
- 48:09caught so fast. He got caught. Oh, I'm
- 48:13still in the good though. Sauce been
- 48:16causing caught like
- 48:22oh 8 months or something.
- 48:25>> Eight months later.
- 48:26>> No, he got caught like [ __ ] a week
- 48:29later.
- 48:30>> Okay. But I'm saying before the cl
- 48:34before the climate shifts into making my
- 48:36world gloomy is about eight months
- 48:39later.
- 48:41So in the midst of those eight months,
- 48:44my other camp folk who kidnapped her
- 48:48>> Mhm.
- 48:49>> he was identified.
- 48:51So they didn't show, you know, the
- 48:52victim, you know, so many
- 48:55mug shots of whoever they could think of
- 48:58and they came across his. She's like,
- 49:02"That's the guy that snatched me."
- 49:05Uh, so now he's in the mix.
- 49:10Uh, I'mma lead into this situation with
- 49:12my chin up and my chest out. Can't f
- 49:15fold it on me, right?
- 49:16>> Mhm.
- 49:17>> But I don't I do care. and especially
- 49:20when I was going through it.
- 49:23But that's my campf,
- 49:26>> right?
- 49:27>> You know what I mean? I ain't I don't
- 49:29want to stand up here and and speak on
- 49:31that from the wrong angle like
- 49:35um
- 49:37like I'm staining them or whatever,
- 49:40right? This just the facts that occur.
- 49:43Uh Ken Folk is facing that life sentence
- 49:47for for kidnapping.
- 49:49Man, that's when my climate changed.
- 49:53Can folks in search what they wanted him
- 49:56to do. You know what I mean? He couldn't
- 49:58he couldn't swallow that elbow. It was
- 50:01like 810 the time, whatever. So, you
- 50:03know, listen, man. I don't like the
- 50:05results, but that's my campf. So, while
- 50:08I'm going through my my journey of of
- 50:12being the bad version of myself and how
- 50:14I switch to get back more stable and tap
- 50:18into who I really am, uh, one thing that
- 50:21occurred was
- 50:23I was in a park with a woman and we was
- 50:27smoking,
- 50:28sipping, talking about our problems and
- 50:32just kind of consoling each other. Uh,
- 50:36while we sitting here in the car in the
- 50:38parking lot, it's crazy how it happened.
- 50:40I'm looking down the parking lot and I
- 50:43see like I see like this white dude, it
- 50:45look like his chain swinging. I I see
- 50:47the bling coming off of it in the in the
- 50:51section down there. And I start asking,
- 50:53I like, damn, is that the cops? And
- 50:55while I'm asking myself, is it the cops?
- 50:57I hear boom boom on the passenger
- 51:00window. I look over, it's the cops. I
- 51:04got on my on my little uh little
- 51:07whatever I'm rolling up on and we got a
- 51:09bottle in the car and uh long story
- 51:12short, I'm on federal papers, right?
- 51:15>> Mind you, I did the 46 months, right? Uh
- 51:18I'm on federal papers at the time. So
- 51:21now I'm supposed to be at the
- 51:26the end of my bad guy self, right? Uh
- 51:31but now I'm kind of start
- 51:34not being so positive. I think I'm about
- 51:38to violate. I'm going back to the joint.
- 51:40You know what I mean? Anyway, I have a
- 51:44hearing, a violation hearing. That judge
- 51:46ain't tripping about no little we
- 51:50say, "How you been out this long and you
- 51:54ain't had a job in this long?"
- 51:56>> Right. I say, "I got a a record label.
- 52:01You know, I sell music. I earn, you
- 52:03know, a suitable living off of doing
- 52:05this. Well, he say, "Well, you need to
- 52:08provide proof of that." You know what I
- 52:10mean? So, now I'm going back to
- 52:12promoters and CD stores and just
- 52:15whatever. I'm getting as much paperwork,
- 52:18you know, as I can to prove that I earn
- 52:20a living, you know, uh, through this.
- 52:23Okay. Uh,
- 52:25okay. I don't want to I don't want to
- 52:27kind of sway too far, but I got to
- 52:29include this.
- 52:31During this process, man, I I I like I
- 52:33switched from being like so gloomy and
- 52:36I'm sorry, demonic
- 52:38for real because every problem that I
- 52:41had at the time, it's only one solution
- 52:43for it.
- 52:46So, yeah. But how I switched to
- 52:51I stopped seeing my situation like I
- 52:54lost my brother.
- 52:57I lost this person,
- 53:00this physical being on earth.
- 53:04That hurt. That caused me pain and grief
- 53:07and tears.
- 53:09I had to switch my perception.
- 53:12I didn't lose nobody.
- 53:14I gained something.
- 53:17I got a teammate up there in heaven. A
- 53:19direct link. You know what I mean? Like,
- 53:23hey, it's about to be up now. So, boom.
- 53:27Shortly after adopting that concept,
- 53:30uh, small unique situation. When I'm
- 53:33going to court, right, to to
- 53:37for the violation, I got to gather my my
- 53:39evidence to show that I've been making a
- 53:42living. I had to go down to Kansas City,
- 53:44Missouri. There's a store named Seventh
- 53:45Heaven uh that was selling our music.
- 53:48And on the way down there, it was like I
- 53:49was borderline and being late before
- 53:52they closed. So, I'm on the interstate
- 53:54kind of like rushing. That's when I
- 53:56begin to realize I got a teammate in
- 53:58heaven. Man, this is crazy. I'm down.
- 54:00I'm on interstate rushing. Boom. I'm in
- 54:03the left lane. Car in front of me just
- 54:05moving slow, moving parallel with the
- 54:08car next to it and like holding me up.
- 54:10Right. It it was happening so much I got
- 54:12frustrated to where I said I said, "Hey,
- 54:15bro, man, make this car move." I'm just
- 54:16bullshitting. I said, "Hey, bro, make
- 54:18this car move." Soon as the word move
- 54:22left from my mouth, the car moved. That
- 54:26was crazy. That's a coincidence. Like,
- 54:28what the [ __ ] just happened right there?
- 54:30So, I'm driving again. Now, I'm kind of
- 54:32just talking. I'm laughing and [ __ ]
- 54:33like, "Man, what the [ __ ] That [ __ ] was
- 54:35crazy. It happened again. I'm jammed up.
- 54:39Can't get around somebody running late.
- 54:41Hey bro,
- 54:43make this car move.
- 54:46Not during the word move, before the
- 54:48word move. Soon as I finish the word
- 54:50move, the car moving. Hold up, man. Am I
- 54:53tripping?
- 54:54People in the car with me. I start
- 54:56waking them up. I said, "Hey, hey, hey,
- 54:59hey, look at this [ __ ] y'all." I said,
- 55:01"Look at this shit." I'm laughing. I'm
- 55:03feeling good. I get myself jammed up on
- 55:05purpose, right? Jammed up. can't get
- 55:08around somebody. I ain't gonna say
- 55:10nothing. But hey y'all watch this in a
- 55:11minute.
- 55:13I play with him a little bit and I say,
- 55:14"Hey, bro,
- 55:16make this car move.
- 55:21The [ __ ] move."
- 55:23So anyway, man, so simple of a
- 55:25situation. I just got to say, man, it
- 55:28was just a sign and a symbol for me that
- 55:30I began to see repetitively that like,
- 55:32hey, man, I ain't lost my bro. I did not
- 55:35lose my bro. I got a bro on a higher
- 55:38realm of life that I can holler at and
- 55:40call on for guidance and whatever, you
- 55:42know, whenever I need to. And I said, I
- 55:44got a teammate in heaven.
- 55:46>> So, yeah. Uh
- 55:49leading into the school situation, uh
- 55:53the judge said when I bring the evidence
- 55:55back, the judge say, "Okay, again, he
- 55:58little misdemeanor weed ticket. We
- 56:01didn't even get the ticket for the for
- 56:02alcohol. Little misre weed ticket. Judge
- 56:04like he ain't tripping." Okay, that's
- 56:06fine. Income is what I'm concerned
- 56:08about. Okay, now you have two options.
- 56:10Uh, if you want to earn your living
- 56:12through business, that you need to
- 56:14actually get certified in school, get a
- 56:16degree, something to further what you're
- 56:18trying to do. But you can't just sit
- 56:20around. So, you can either go get a job
- 56:23or you can, you know, go to school for,
- 56:25you know, what you want to do. So, I
- 56:28don't want to work. So, boom, you know,
- 56:30I go to school or whatnot.
- 56:32So, like I was saying
- 56:34>> on April 1st,
- 56:37uh it was a unique day, a peculiar day.
- 56:41I'm in college. Uh the teacher of my
- 56:45business class asked me would I
- 56:48participate in kind of like this, like a
- 56:50podcast. Uh you know, something about
- 56:53the the the the
- 56:56educational world and our community or
- 56:58something, our culture. Uh she picked me
- 57:01out to class at the entire class. Uh
- 57:04bam.
- 57:06I said, "Okay, I'm supposed to work out
- 57:09this day." Uh but the time of the
- 57:13podcast
- 57:15like over overlapped my workout time. So
- 57:18when I finished, not a podcast, it was I
- 57:20mean basically a podcast before podcast
- 57:22became popular. Uh so after I finished
- 57:25with that with her, I'm supposed to be
- 57:28at the gym at that time.
- 57:30But it's already into my gym time and
- 57:33it's too late. You know, I I got guys
- 57:35out there working out already. Like I
- 57:37ain't I missed it. So, what I'mma do,
- 57:40I'm going to go spend some extra time
- 57:42with my kids. You know, I had kind of
- 57:44had a schedule of I spend time with my
- 57:46kids. Uh it was mostly on the weekends.
- 57:50Uh I would get them, but you know,
- 57:52throughout the week I would also, you
- 57:54know, pop in or whatever. And now that I
- 57:57had a free evening, what better way to
- 58:00spend it than with my kids. I go to my
- 58:02bay man house. Uh, now this ties into I
- 58:07spend every night in my crib. Me and my
- 58:09sister still live together. I I spend
- 58:12every night in my I got the basement
- 58:13like my own little apartment, whatever.
- 58:15Uh, I spend every night in my crib. Like
- 58:17that's just my comfort zone. Far as who
- 58:20I'm dealing with, they come to me. I
- 58:23don't stay at night nowhere.
- 58:25uh
- 58:28this day at ba mom house early
- 58:32cuz I I missed the gym chilling with the
- 58:34kids and I got comfortable, you know
- 58:36what I mean? Ate something, you know,
- 58:38got full and [ __ ] it, I'm going to stay
- 58:40here tonight
- 58:42in the morning, April 1st, I get a phone
- 58:45call. I don't even process the date at
- 58:48the time, but I get a phone call. Then
- 58:50my sister calm again. She's like, "Uh,
- 58:55the police just came by here looking for
- 58:57you."
- 58:59I sit up in the bed, said, "What?"
- 59:03My brain is scanning. She for real, she
- 59:05bullshitting, you know, the situation
- 59:08didn't happen, you know, like 8 n months
- 59:10ago or whatever, and I've been in the
- 59:12clear. I I'm got back to regular life.
- 59:16Uh, she said, "The police just came by
- 59:20here looking for you." stood up like I
- 59:22said like man what the [ __ ]
- 59:24>> she didn't say April fools
- 59:25>> I'm like is you bullshitting
- 59:27she like no so she hang up I'm like
- 59:31stunned
- 59:32I'm stunned now I'm like no this ain't
- 59:36for real cuz I I've always felt at peace
- 59:39something about this circumstance I
- 59:42never felt like I'm this bad dude I'm
- 59:44doing some [ __ ] up [ __ ] like I felt
- 59:47like man I was moving within like a
- 59:50positive like perimeter or something.
- 59:53Uh, I was just always at peace. So when
- 59:56she say the police looking for you, she
- 59:58hang up the phone. It can't It ain't
- 1:00:01real. So now I got to find a reason to
- 1:00:03make it not be real. Like she
- 1:00:06bullshitting. I know she just joking.
- 1:00:09Oh, it's it's April 1st. It's April 1st.
- 1:00:12[laughter] It's April 1st. She got me.
- 1:00:14The [ __ ] I call her back. I'm forcing
- 1:00:16myself to believe this [ __ ] I call her
- 1:00:18back. Said, "Hey, man. Man, why you
- 1:00:21bullshitting? Like, I'm I'm about to
- 1:00:23make this [ __ ] be real. This version is
- 1:00:25real. I've got the laughy [ __ ] going on.
- 1:00:28She like
- 1:00:30>> She said, "I ain't bullshitting."
- 1:00:33She called the kids to around the phone
- 1:00:35area. She said, "Hey y'all, who just
- 1:00:37came looking for your uncle?" The
- 1:00:40police.
- 1:00:45Boom.
- 1:00:47Oh [ __ ]
- 1:00:49The [ __ ] uh what is it called?
- 1:00:51The purge sounds was going off in my
- 1:00:53head.
- 1:00:54What the [ __ ] [ __ ] real now. Babe could
- 1:00:58see it on me. She walk in the room.
- 1:01:01What's wrong?
- 1:01:03Oh, nothing. I'm cool.
- 1:01:06[clears throat]
- 1:01:08I forget how I told her when I told her,
- 1:01:11but I end up saying, man, she talking
- 1:01:13about the police came by looking for me.
- 1:01:16I'm saying it like that, man. that [ __ ]
- 1:01:18I ain't worried about that [ __ ] So, she
- 1:01:21could must have start downloading it.
- 1:01:23You know, she know what happened, you
- 1:01:24know, months prior or whatn not. Always
- 1:01:26kind of had to look in her eye like like
- 1:01:30something you want to tell me. Uh but,
- 1:01:33you know, I don't give nobody no kind
- 1:01:35of, you know, communication about that.
- 1:01:38Uh
- 1:01:40she end up coming back out the bathroom
- 1:01:42kind of got emotional like like I'm
- 1:01:45like, "Listen, man. Everything cool."
- 1:01:47like why you think they ain't said
- 1:01:49nothing all this time ain't ain't I'm
- 1:01:51I'm good you know what I mean but I'm
- 1:01:54like boom I need you to take me
- 1:01:56somewhere quick do something boom I go
- 1:01:58get a little uh
- 1:02:01little vehicle I can move around in uh
- 1:02:05boom
- 1:02:08I separate with her from her job
- 1:02:12you know give her kiss give her a hug or
- 1:02:14whatever everything even though it
- 1:02:16wasn't like an item. She was still my
- 1:02:18girl. I mean, uh, so boom, I gave her a
- 1:02:22little emotional connection, you know,
- 1:02:24kiss her if everything going to be good.
- 1:02:28And, uh, everything wasn't good, man. I
- 1:02:30went and got a lawyer. So, I'm like, is
- 1:02:32it a locate warrant? I go hire a lawyer.
- 1:02:35Uh, Steve Lefner was like the was like
- 1:02:38the goddamn Johnny Cochran of Omaha at
- 1:02:40the time. I go hire Steve Lner.
- 1:02:44You know, he do he put his due diligence
- 1:02:46in or what what not to find out is an
- 1:02:48arrest warrant or a locate warrant. Man,
- 1:02:51we sitting in that [ __ ] like a
- 1:02:53like like he came back in
- 1:02:57like I'm sorry. It's an arrest warrant.
- 1:03:00That [ __ ] was like we was out of out of
- 1:03:03not the funeral. It felt like we was at
- 1:03:04a wake when he said that [ __ ] Uh oh my
- 1:03:08god. Now I'm in the underground world.
- 1:03:10We leave. You know I got hoods on and
- 1:03:12[ __ ] glasses on. like I'm moving like a
- 1:03:14[ __ ] uh not myself, find a
- 1:03:18little spot to tuck off at or whatever.
- 1:03:21And
- 1:03:22yeah, I slipped into the, you know, the
- 1:03:24underworld, man. And uh
- 1:03:28uh
- 1:03:29that lasted for, like I say,
- 1:03:34crime happened in
- 1:03:37in June, end of June.
- 1:03:41Uh they came for me April 1st. That [ __ ]
- 1:03:45lasted damn near 10 months before since
- 1:03:48the crime date and actually looking for
- 1:03:51me. So
- 1:03:54on a run spree happens.
- 1:03:57>> I was going to say, do you know why what
- 1:04:00the the warrant is?
- 1:04:01>> Attempted murder, right?
- 1:04:03>> But I mean, no. I mean, at the time, do
- 1:04:05you know what it's for?
- 1:04:06>> Oh, hell yeah.
- 1:04:07>> Oh, okay. I didn't know if he just said,
- 1:04:08"Hey, there's a warrant. We don't know
- 1:04:09what it's for." No, they they it's for
- 1:04:12that [ __ ]
- 1:04:13>> Okay.
- 1:04:14>> For that [ __ ] Uh I stopped hustling and
- 1:04:16everything. Uh soon as the soon as the
- 1:04:19the situation happened, soon as that
- 1:04:21first night when they put me in cuffs
- 1:04:23and took me out of cuffs,
- 1:04:24>> right?
- 1:04:24>> I and I killed everything cuz I I just
- 1:04:27felt like a any day.
- 1:04:30Uh but yeah, so from April 1st, I go on
- 1:04:35the run leading up to a divine
- 1:04:40Oh my god. God got his hands on this
- 1:04:42situation for sure.
- 1:04:44So while I'm on the run,
- 1:04:47>> right,
- 1:04:48>> if I get caught before Saul's trial,
- 1:04:51they will put us together,
- 1:04:53>> right?
- 1:04:54>> And we'll have one trial.
- 1:04:56If I get caught after Saul's trial, then
- 1:05:00he'll have his verdict and I'll have my
- 1:05:02verdict, but it'll be separate, right?
- 1:05:05So, while Saul's trial is approaching,
- 1:05:09man, life is so heavy, dude. Like, for
- 1:05:12real. Uh, I got to keep on saying this
- 1:05:13is not myself, but I was like warped
- 1:05:16into like another realm, man. I was
- 1:05:19warped. You know, the streets going to
- 1:05:20remember me some kind of way. I didn't
- 1:05:22have enough time to do the the highest
- 1:05:25of the heights that I was supposed to
- 1:05:26do. But I ain't about to leave this
- 1:05:28planet without leaving a mark, you know.
- 1:05:30And the outlets that I had was not
- 1:05:32really positive outlets when I was going
- 1:05:34through that. Like I said, I was warped.
- 1:05:36And so I was going through his trial. Uh
- 1:05:42dark notions just start swirling around
- 1:05:44me. I remember such and such dude from
- 1:05:47this.
- 1:05:50Remember so and so never paid me.
- 1:05:52Remember so and so said this.
- 1:05:55You know what? The police, some
- 1:05:57[ __ ] crooked [ __ ]
- 1:06:01They the reason I'm in this [ __ ] because
- 1:06:03if they had did their [ __ ] properly and
- 1:06:05handled [ __ ] the right way, I would
- 1:06:07never reacted.
- 1:06:10Oh yeah. Let me put them on my list,
- 1:06:12too.
- 1:06:14I got a pilot that used to rob banks.
- 1:06:17It just seemed like a thrill that I
- 1:06:19would never partake in. But [ __ ] it.
- 1:06:21Life over with anyway. Me put that on my
- 1:06:23list, too.
- 1:06:26If Sauce lose this [ __ ] trial,
- 1:06:30watch this.
- 1:06:33Watch this. It's about to be a lot of
- 1:06:36[ __ ] going on. Cuz if he lose trial and
- 1:06:38he didn't do it, I'm done.
- 1:06:42>> Yeah. But here's the So the thing is is
- 1:06:44that the police are looking to arrest
- 1:06:47you cuz they think you did it. Is that
- 1:06:49right?
- 1:06:50>> Well, now
- 1:06:50>> they just think you were there.
- 1:06:51>> No. So now at this point they they think
- 1:06:56the victim stated that Sauce shot her.
- 1:06:58They think that he's the shooter, but
- 1:07:00now I'm tied into it. They saying that
- 1:07:02I'm the mastermind. They saying I told S
- 1:07:05the shooter. They saying I told dude the
- 1:07:07kidnapper.
- 1:07:08>> I'm guilty through conspiracy. One of
- 1:07:11the charges is conspiracy to murder.
- 1:07:13>> Okay, got it. Now, I was going to say
- 1:07:14like how are they looking for you for
- 1:07:16the for the uh for the attempted murder
- 1:07:19when they they're charging him with the
- 1:07:21attempted murder. It's like that this
- 1:07:22doesn't
- 1:07:24>> Okay, so now it makes more sense.
- 1:07:26>> Yeah. So, my mind is warped, man. My
- 1:07:29mind is warped. That's how I know it's
- 1:07:30heaven and hell. I believe it's not I
- 1:07:34don't know what happened when you leave
- 1:07:35here, but I believe it's a state of
- 1:07:36mind, man. And I didn't experience hell
- 1:07:39on earth, you know, and I've experienced
- 1:07:42heaven on earth. But situations like
- 1:07:45that make me really believe that, you
- 1:07:47know, heaven and hell is a state of
- 1:07:49mind. Uh I'm I'm in hell. But also is
- 1:07:53this trial. This is what's going on. You
- 1:07:56know what I mean?
- 1:07:58I remember my mom come to the house one
- 1:07:59day. So, I had a on the run spot,
- 1:08:05but it kind of began to get wore out and
- 1:08:08I start bouncing around a little bit and
- 1:08:10I would end up in my sister house a lot.
- 1:08:12They been there three or four times
- 1:08:14looking for me.
- 1:08:15>> They know I ain't there no more.
- 1:08:16>> I got comfortable. It's been a long time
- 1:08:18since they been over there. I can, you
- 1:08:21know what I mean? Uh,
- 1:08:24I'm in my sister house one day. My mom
- 1:08:27came over. I'm in the back. I'm in my
- 1:08:31sister room. I'm always hiding. Even
- 1:08:34like I'm inside the house hidden from
- 1:08:36the world. I'm in the house hiding. Uh
- 1:08:39in my sister room, my mom came over. I
- 1:08:42hear I'm out there talking, but I ain't
- 1:08:44about to go make no engagement. She she
- 1:08:46probably going to leave. And I never
- 1:08:47knew I was here. I ain't going to let
- 1:08:48her know. But uh my sister end up
- 1:08:51telling her like Sean back there. She
- 1:08:54came back there and I'm in that state,
- 1:08:55man. I'm what I'm smile what I'm a smile
- 1:08:57for. I'm at the edge of the bed. You
- 1:08:59know what I mean? [ __ ] heavy, you know,
- 1:09:02head down, life on the [ __ ] uh
- 1:09:05time clock, my expiration date coming
- 1:09:08soon. No matter if it's death or prison,
- 1:09:12uh that energy is on me. And but I could
- 1:09:16I was never the type of person that
- 1:09:17could really just
- 1:09:20say extreme things to moms, but I didn't
- 1:09:24want to lie or hide things either. Uh
- 1:09:27remember she asked me what's wrong
- 1:09:30and I was like
- 1:09:33I don't know what I said something like
- 1:09:34they going to see.
- 1:09:37I don't want to tell her I got
- 1:09:40murder plans on my robbery plans and and
- 1:09:44and and and cop retaliation plans and
- 1:09:49paint plan. I don't know. I'm about to
- 1:09:52leave a mark. When I'm gone they going
- 1:09:53to remember me.
- 1:09:56as as as distorted as that may sound,
- 1:10:00when I'm gone, they gonna remember me.
- 1:10:04So, mom asked me, "What's wrong?"
- 1:10:06I was like, "Nothing." But I was like, I
- 1:10:09saw this child, though. Watch.
- 1:10:14And she like, she could pick up what I'm
- 1:10:16saying, but she ain't. And she kind of
- 1:10:18probably feel me. I don't know. But she
- 1:10:20likes like like, "Boy, don't you do
- 1:10:23nothing stupid.
- 1:10:25And like I can't lie to her, but I I
- 1:10:29want to just straight go against her.
- 1:10:31I'm just like,
- 1:10:33"All right, you know, man, sauce trial
- 1:10:38come up. I'm locked in, my guy.
- 1:10:40>> I'm about to be forgot about. I would I
- 1:10:43think I was uh 28
- 1:10:46at the time.
- 1:10:47>> I ain't done nothing major in life. I'm
- 1:10:49about to be baldled up, threw away, and
- 1:10:52that's it.
- 1:10:55It's it's it's decided I'm going to get
- 1:10:58remembered.
- 1:11:00Saw trial coming up. I believe it was
- 1:11:03November 1st.
- 1:11:07Mind you, if I get caught before his
- 1:11:09trial, we'll have the same trial,
- 1:11:11>> right? If I get caught after his trial,
- 1:11:16guess what? I'm gonna have a lot more
- 1:11:18charges cuz I ain't bullshitting if I
- 1:11:21even make it to the courtroom.
- 1:11:24That's how you know God is real.
- 1:11:27His trial started one day.
- 1:11:29>> Uhhuh. They say you get arrested.
- 1:11:31>> I got caught later on that night.
- 1:11:34>> Oh, okay.
- 1:11:35>> God was not about to let me make it to
- 1:11:37being on the streets hearing a guilty
- 1:11:39verdict. Even in my times that ain't so
- 1:11:41applaudable, I've had, you know,
- 1:11:45affirmation that God is there for me. I
- 1:11:48have been shot at this close.
- 1:11:52Everyone missed. You know what I mean?
- 1:11:55Um
- 1:11:57Yeah. So I get caught during the trial.
- 1:11:59I get caught during the trial.
- 1:12:02>> Yeah.
- 1:12:03>> It's too late for them to add you to the
- 1:12:05>> Yeah. They can't add me to his trial,
- 1:12:07but I did not have the opportunity,
- 1:12:09>> right,
- 1:12:10>> to go pull out these fantasies. That's
- 1:12:13crazy cuz it was fantasies. I was used
- 1:12:14to man I used to, you know, uh meditate
- 1:12:17on them.
- 1:12:20I used to drive by certain spots like I
- 1:12:22already know how I'mma do this one.
- 1:12:25So, man, energy is real. When you feel
- 1:12:27yourself when you feel yourself being
- 1:12:30sucked into a certain path, man, you got
- 1:12:32to gain control.
- 1:12:34You got to gain control and get yourself
- 1:12:36out of that path.
- 1:12:39>> How How do they grab you? I'm at my
- 1:12:42sister house. Kind of got so
- 1:12:45comfortable.
- 1:12:46Oh, I'm in the dining room. I ain't even
- 1:12:49in the back hiding. I'm in a dining room
- 1:12:51on a laptop on Facebook. This from when
- 1:12:54Facebook first got to really being
- 1:12:56popular. Uh,
- 1:13:01sis came to the goddamn di room.
- 1:13:06Calm again. Sis too calm. Sis like she a
- 1:13:09gangster for real, man. She don't even
- 1:13:12rattle on her. But she was like, she
- 1:13:14like the police outside.
- 1:13:16So like I'm in the kind of like in the
- 1:13:18frame like the [ __ ] what I'm like, you
- 1:13:21know what I'mma do? Uh so I'm kind of
- 1:13:24like going left, going right just but I
- 1:13:25ain't going nowhere cuz I don't know
- 1:13:26which way to go. And uh my kid folk was
- 1:13:29there. Uh me, you know what I mean? Aka
- 1:13:32Little, my little kid folk. This
- 1:13:34brother, my little guy, man. Uh he like,
- 1:13:37"Hey, come upstairs." Go upstairs. It's
- 1:13:40like a attic room. Attic is loaded with
- 1:13:44unorganized storage. When I say [ __ ]
- 1:13:47this way and that way it mean it's
- 1:13:49loaded too. So I'm I must have find a
- 1:13:52tunnel. I don't know what the hell I
- 1:13:53done did but I done got through that
- 1:13:55[ __ ] and got to the back and I'm behind
- 1:13:58some [ __ ] and it's a cover over the [ __ ]
- 1:14:00and they ain't coming in here to find
- 1:14:02me. So some some way some way along, you
- 1:14:07know, that time, you know, they let them
- 1:14:09in the house. I hear them downstairs,
- 1:14:11you know, going through [ __ ] and, you
- 1:14:13know, they don't they don't see nothing.
- 1:14:14Of course, when they come upstairs, it's
- 1:14:18pitch black in this like attic storage
- 1:14:20type area. It's one of them little
- 1:14:22hatch, no them halfway hatch doors. Uh,
- 1:14:26I hear them, they pass it, heartbeating,
- 1:14:29fish black. Boom. I hear when they when
- 1:14:33they go to the back, they don't find
- 1:14:34nothing. Now they coming back towards
- 1:14:36the stairs, but the the hatchway door is
- 1:14:39right there at the top of the stairs.
- 1:14:41And uh [ __ ] they stop. They open it.
- 1:14:46They come they come in. I know they
- 1:14:48can't see me cuz I didn't I done looked
- 1:14:50in here. How they looking in here? I
- 1:14:51know they can't see me. But man, I ain't
- 1:14:54going to lie to you. I ain't hold up to
- 1:14:56that pressure. Uh
- 1:14:59like I see all the beams. I I feel all
- 1:15:02the the negative. I feel the bullets
- 1:15:05before they going to hit. I feel that
- 1:15:06[ __ ] pointed at me. Uhhuh. And they said
- 1:15:09something like, you know, raise your
- 1:15:11hands, come out. So they gave me like a
- 1:15:13ultimatum.
- 1:15:14>> And god damn it, they got me on that
- 1:15:16ultimatum. I should threw them
- 1:15:18[ __ ] hands up so fast. I said,
- 1:15:19I'm right here. Don't shoot. But first,
- 1:15:22>> okay, so bam. No, I threw my hands up.
- 1:15:23All right, don't shoot. Don't shoot. Cuz
- 1:15:25I was already nervous when I was on the
- 1:15:27run. Like the system is part of my
- 1:15:29brother's death. You know what I mean?
- 1:15:31It's my belief. Like they going to
- 1:15:33probably if they catch me, they going to
- 1:15:35shoot me. They they might shoot me if I
- 1:15:37ain't in the right area
- 1:15:38>> and and say I'm labeled armed and
- 1:15:40dangerous. You know what I mean?
- 1:15:41>> Uh
- 1:15:43>> so bam, they scare me. I throw the hands
- 1:15:46up. So they make me like move towards
- 1:15:48them, whatever with my hands up the
- 1:15:50whole time. And then, you know, they
- 1:15:52cuffed me up. They cuffed me up. First,
- 1:15:55I was just so scared in a [ __ ]
- 1:15:57right? Don't shoot. Don't shoot. If he
- 1:15:59don't cuff on me, I know I'm safe.
- 1:16:00That's when I got started talking [ __ ]
- 1:16:02like, you know, rah rah Montana
- 1:16:05[ __ ] s and such and such. 6
- 1:16:06months I'll be out. You know what I
- 1:16:08mean? Speedy trail, [ __ ] Watch. Like,
- 1:16:10I don't know, man. I was just That's the
- 1:16:12mode I was in. Uh,
- 1:16:15but it went a lot longer than 6 months
- 1:16:17though,
- 1:16:18>> right? [laughter]
- 1:16:20>> So,
- 1:16:21okay, I get caught. I go to jail. When
- 1:16:25I'm in jail, you know, the word is I'm
- 1:16:28supposed to I'm supposed to beat my [ __ ]
- 1:16:30at uh at my prelab.
- 1:16:33Okay. So, during S trial, the victim
- 1:16:38states that no one else was there,
- 1:16:42>> right?
- 1:16:42>> She think the shooter was Sauce,
- 1:16:44>> right?
- 1:16:45>> And she know the guy that kidnapped her,
- 1:16:47>> right?
- 1:16:48>> She don't to her there's no one. I don't
- 1:16:51know what the [ __ ] sauce was doing in
- 1:16:52that truck,
- 1:16:53>> but she never saw him.
- 1:16:54>> She never saw him.
- 1:16:55>> Right.
- 1:16:56>> So, she said that I did look inside the
- 1:16:58truck and there was no one else there.
- 1:17:00So, in my mind, like Sauce was in that
- 1:17:01[ __ ] like hiding like for real.
- 1:17:03He didn't want no parts of it,
- 1:17:04>> right?
- 1:17:04>> He in that [ __ ] hiding, right?
- 1:17:06>> So, uh
- 1:17:08but but to them, they're saying that's
- 1:17:12me. They saying I'm the person in the
- 1:17:14truck or nobody's in the truck, right?
- 1:17:16>> I'm the guy that controlled the [ __ ] or
- 1:17:18whatnot. So if Sauce is in front of her
- 1:17:20and she's saying Jerel kidnapped her,
- 1:17:23where the [ __ ] am I at?
- 1:17:26>> She say Sauce shot her. Jerel kidnapped
- 1:17:28her. She looked in the truck. Nobody
- 1:17:29else was there.
- 1:17:30>> Is Jerel saying you were there?
- 1:17:33>> Jerel saying I'm there.
- 1:17:36>> That's a phone calling
- 1:17:38>> between me and No. Derel, man. Listen, I
- 1:17:41ain't going to go deep into that because
- 1:17:42like I said, this ain't to stain nobody
- 1:17:44or nothing, but Jerel did more than he
- 1:17:47had to to to put me in this [ __ ] man.
- 1:17:50>> Right.
- 1:17:51>> You know, uh yeah, he he went extra.
- 1:17:54Like, [ __ ] Uh
- 1:17:59anyway, if she don't identify me
- 1:18:01nowhere, I'm like innocent. Like
- 1:18:03>> aside from Jerel if she But
- 1:18:06>> that's enough right there to cause what
- 1:18:08they call reasonable doubt.
- 1:18:09>> Right.
- 1:18:10>> Right.
- 1:18:11>> Yeah. That's what that's what I hope. So
- 1:18:13prelim they they thinking that my [ __ ]
- 1:18:16ain't even got enough evidence to go
- 1:18:17past the prelab. S give me that message
- 1:18:20from his lawyer. You know he slid me a
- 1:18:22little kite in the county one time. Uh
- 1:18:28I go to trial.
- 1:18:31Let me tell you how crooked my attorney
- 1:18:32is though. She that made this statement
- 1:18:35at Sauce trial. The only people present
- 1:18:38was Sauce and I'm going to call him Jay.
- 1:18:42I don't want to keep saying his name.
- 1:18:44Sauce and Jay. Only two people present.
- 1:18:48Uh
- 1:18:50why you don't bring this up at my trial?
- 1:18:53Why you don't paint me in a light
- 1:18:56>> that I wasn't even involved or nothing?
- 1:18:57Like right, man. That [ __ ] was
- 1:19:00crooked. Anyway, fast forward, man. I
- 1:19:03ain't no going to trial.
- 1:19:05>> Or what did um before you go to trial,
- 1:19:08do you know what sauce gets?
- 1:19:10>> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So, bam.
- 1:19:14Sauce get convicted.
- 1:19:16I'm fighting. I'm going through the
- 1:19:18proceedings of a trial, you know, all
- 1:19:20the court dates or whatnot. The prelims.
- 1:19:22These [ __ ] bonded my [ __ ] over
- 1:19:25at prelim
- 1:19:27without me having a prelim. Okay, so
- 1:19:30prelim is supposed to be like, is there,
- 1:19:34you know, sufficient evidence to take
- 1:19:37this case to trial?
- 1:19:38>> Yeah. Well, instead of having my prelim
- 1:19:41on a on a county court level without it
- 1:19:45going to district court, they did
- 1:19:46something I forget what they called it
- 1:19:48where it went straight to district court
- 1:19:50where my prelim was held at district
- 1:19:52court between a judge that has the
- 1:19:54motive to further it. You know what I
- 1:19:56mean? And uh [ __ ] they they made my
- 1:19:59[ __ ] continue without giving me the
- 1:20:01opportunity prevented to prevent it from
- 1:20:03going to district court,
- 1:20:04>> right?
- 1:20:05>> You know what I mean? Uh,
- 1:20:08long story short, man. Sauce get 130
- 1:20:12years while I'm going through my
- 1:20:15proceedings, right? Let me tell you
- 1:20:18something. I'm in the county, man. I
- 1:20:20start I start doing everything to try to
- 1:20:23get ahead of that and reverse that [ __ ]
- 1:20:25I became a halfway Muslim. You
- 1:20:28understand what I'm saying? Hey, I was
- 1:20:30still a Christian. Uh, I told God, "Look
- 1:20:32here, I'mma stop gambling." you know,
- 1:20:35uh, I really did stop gambling, stopped
- 1:20:37playing poker and everything. I start
- 1:20:39trying to tap into everything positive
- 1:20:41about me. I said, "Listen, man. I cannot
- 1:20:46130 years." No, just a little bit.
- 1:20:51>> So, I'm trying to I'm just trying to be
- 1:20:52my best self. If I'm my best self, I'm
- 1:20:54going to get the best result
- 1:20:57to go to trial. Oh
- 1:21:02man
- 1:21:06[ __ ] I end up getting found guilty.
- 1:21:10So I'm in a bullpin and uh
- 1:21:14pacing back and forth, you know. Uh I
- 1:21:18got
- 1:21:19I got
- 1:21:21Damn, I'm tripping. Is it either
- 1:21:23handcuffs or shackles on my feet?
- 1:21:25Anyway, I'm in the tank by myself. They
- 1:21:27don't even got me with the regular
- 1:21:28felons, man.
- 1:21:30>> Every time I go to court, they always
- 1:21:31got me separated. Like I was You have a
- 1:21:34more serious charge.
- 1:21:35>> Yeah. But like it was it was crazy
- 1:21:37because it be people on the other in the
- 1:21:39other tank that actually committed
- 1:21:41murder sometimes. Like they victim
- 1:21:43didn't survive. I was in the tank by
- 1:21:45myself most of the time. Every now and
- 1:21:47then there'll be one or two more guys
- 1:21:50with me. It was
- 1:21:54was weird. like this [ __ ] char charged
- 1:21:57more violence than mine. [ __ ] But they
- 1:21:59had me on like a high profile or
- 1:22:01whatever. But anyway, I'm in a bullpin.
- 1:22:03I'm in the bullpin waiting for a
- 1:22:05verdict, right? Trial concluded. I
- 1:22:07decided not to testify. Uh they they
- 1:22:10placed it in jury hands or whatever.
- 1:22:12Boom. It's on a Monday.
- 1:22:15Take me up to the bullpen. While I'm
- 1:22:18waiting for the verdict to be read, I'm
- 1:22:22walking back and forth. I'm talking to
- 1:22:25dead people, talking to God. I'm um I'm
- 1:22:30trying to manifest. I'm trying to create
- 1:22:33the ending. I'm putting every vibration,
- 1:22:36every rhythm out there I can for to make
- 1:22:40these jurors minds say, "Hey, no, he
- 1:22:42didn't do it
- 1:22:43>> right."
- 1:22:44>> You know what I mean? I'm I'm trying to
- 1:22:46uh what do they call telepathically
- 1:22:48connect to the universe right now? I'm
- 1:22:51visualizing certain jeweler. I see they
- 1:22:53clothes and [ __ ] I'm like, "Okay, bam.
- 1:22:55This what you thinking right now?"
- 1:22:57Whatever. Like, I'm trying everything,
- 1:22:59right? I cannot get a guilty verdict.
- 1:23:02Ain't no way, man. I'm Why I'm up there
- 1:23:06thinking [ __ ] Bailey come
- 1:23:08upstairs. Mr. A, they got a They got a
- 1:23:11verdict. Hold on. What you mean they got
- 1:23:12a verdict? That was too quick.
- 1:23:15No,
- 1:23:16think about it some more. I don't want
- 1:23:18to hear the verdict right now. I should
- 1:23:20pee. Bam.
- 1:23:23Like they pull me out the bullpin. The
- 1:23:25bullpen is right next to each other. You
- 1:23:27got the super bullpen where I'll be at
- 1:23:29and you got like the common bullpin. Uh
- 1:23:32they pull me out. They got to they got
- 1:23:35to get me back all the way, you know,
- 1:23:37jammed up for No, I'm in I'm in trial at
- 1:23:41this time. Uh so I got a shock pad on.
- 1:23:45No physical. I got on physical [ __ ] when
- 1:23:48I'm in the back in that holding tank.
- 1:23:49When I come out, the jury the jury can't
- 1:23:53see me as like a inmate, a cop,
- 1:23:56>> right?
- 1:23:56>> So, I got a shock pad on. They can't see
- 1:23:59that. Uh, take me back out there for
- 1:24:01verdict.
- 1:24:03Man, I sit down. So, I got I had two
- 1:24:06lawyers. So, my two lawyers were sitting
- 1:24:09like one, two, and I was like at the
- 1:24:13end, right? So, how I'm faced, I'm
- 1:24:15looking straight at the jury.
- 1:24:18I won't forget it. This is a white
- 1:24:20woman, man. She sat down and she was
- 1:24:22looking at me so nasty. The most
- 1:24:25harshest facial expressions and [ __ ]
- 1:24:28like, but I don't know if it mean like
- 1:24:30you [ __ ] [ __ ] they didn't let
- 1:24:32you off. That's what I'm hoping it mean.
- 1:24:34But maybe it mean you got what you got
- 1:24:37coming, [ __ ] You know what I mean?
- 1:24:39Anyway, I'm sitting here thinking like,
- 1:24:41okay, she mad.
- 1:24:43>> She mad cuz I didn't got all.
- 1:24:45>> You know what I mean? I'm I'm hoping I
- 1:24:47I'm not attaching to nothing bad. I'm
- 1:24:50only seeing positive. She mad cuz I got
- 1:24:53off. Yes. Sitting there.
- 1:24:57Does the jury have a verdict? Yes, they
- 1:24:59do. Whatever. They they do the process,
- 1:25:02you know, count one of the, you know,
- 1:25:05the charges attempted murder. We the
- 1:25:08jury find Mr. A. I'm looking. I'm
- 1:25:10waiting. Guilty. What the [ __ ] just
- 1:25:14happened?
- 1:25:16But I don't show nothing though. It's
- 1:25:19like a shock wave inside of me just go
- 1:25:20off. We find the defendant guilty.
- 1:25:25I just look over at my family checking
- 1:25:28their reactions. Bae mom stormed out.
- 1:25:31Pops was looking I don't know like he
- 1:25:34saw a ghost and mom's was already
- 1:25:36starting to break down.
- 1:25:38I'm just in the twilight zone. We the
- 1:25:41jury find a defendant, you know, such
- 1:25:44and such a a criminal conspiracy,
- 1:25:46conspiracy to murder guilty. We the jury
- 1:25:50find a defendant, you know, uh what they
- 1:25:53say, uh useful weapon, right, to commit
- 1:25:56a felony, you find a defendant guilty.
- 1:25:59Uh tampering with a witness, they find a
- 1:26:02defendant guilty. I'm just sitting there
- 1:26:05like I I ain't laughing or nothing. I'm
- 1:26:07just I'm just stale. Still, okay, now I
- 1:26:12ain't going to see me sweat, but I ain't
- 1:26:14going to fake either. I'm just in the in
- 1:26:17between place. [ __ ] going on in the
- 1:26:19crowd. Mom's breaking down. Like I said,
- 1:26:22babe, mom stormed out like hands on her
- 1:26:25heart like she about to pass out. Dad
- 1:26:27just stuck. Sister's eyes glossy.
- 1:26:31And I'm just there.
- 1:26:33Bam.
- 1:26:35They come cuff me up,
- 1:26:38take me to the bull fan.
- 1:26:41I'm like, "God, what the [ __ ] is going
- 1:26:43on?" Like, for real, I know this ain't
- 1:26:45real.
- 1:26:47>> Hold up. What's going on?
- 1:26:50Hold up.
- 1:26:53No,
- 1:26:54it ain't real. But But why it seem real
- 1:26:57right now? What you How you going to
- 1:26:59spend this, God? Cuz I know this ain't
- 1:27:01it. How you going to spend this to make
- 1:27:03it
- 1:27:05all right?
- 1:27:07Something gonna shake. Something gonna
- 1:27:08shake. I'm going through this [ __ ] for a
- 1:27:10big grand finale like conclusion. You
- 1:27:13know what I mean? Uh
- 1:27:17boom. I go to court to get sentenced.
- 1:27:19That was just being found guilty like
- 1:27:21two minutes later. Like two months later
- 1:27:23sentencing. Uh
- 1:27:25I go to court to get sentenced.
- 1:27:30walking that [ __ ] I get out the
- 1:27:32elevator, you know, they got to sheriff
- 1:27:33some me or whatnot. It's a different
- 1:27:35It's a different courtroom than trial
- 1:27:37courtroom. So, I got to walk through
- 1:27:39more of like public space before I make
- 1:27:42it to my court, the actual courtroom.
- 1:27:45They got the cameras out there and [ __ ]
- 1:27:47And, you know, I'm just walking, you
- 1:27:49know, everybody looking at me. I'm like,
- 1:27:51my mind almost like one part is like,
- 1:27:54[ __ ] it, [ __ ] I'm I'm sorry. I don't
- 1:27:56mean to say that word. I'm not sad
- 1:27:58because I did what I was supposed to do.
- 1:28:02I ain't some bad person out here,
- 1:28:04whatever.
- 1:28:06And I'm also like, God still going to
- 1:28:08turn this around.
- 1:28:11God still going to turn this around. I
- 1:28:13go in that courtroom like confident. I
- 1:28:16remember telling my mom before court cuz
- 1:28:18you know S already got 130, right?
- 1:28:20>> So, [clears throat] mom, come on. I'm
- 1:28:22guilt. They say I'm guilty. You know
- 1:28:24what they going to do? All right. When I
- 1:28:27lost trial, man, she went to the
- 1:28:28hospital. Like, she broke down like
- 1:28:31panic attack type stuff. Like had had to
- 1:28:33put the machine, the oxygen on her, all
- 1:28:36that. So now I'm prepping her. Uh, mom,
- 1:28:40you know what they going to do already.
- 1:28:45Don't let it fade you. We good. We know
- 1:28:48this ain't the ending. This is not the
- 1:28:50conclusion. All right. I'm I'mma be all
- 1:28:53right. I know. Cuz it ain't over to God.
- 1:28:55say it's over and you know I mean mom's
- 1:28:58riding with me. All right, bet. Let's go
- 1:29:00then. We in this together. We ain't
- 1:29:03rattled, you know. Hey, be on a mission
- 1:29:06with us and we going to stay strong
- 1:29:09throughout this mission. Boom.
- 1:29:12Court day come around, sentencing day
- 1:29:14come around. Man, I said some powerful
- 1:29:17stuff to them people.
- 1:29:18>> I didn't walk into there into that
- 1:29:20courtroom like like shaking in my boots,
- 1:29:23>> right? You know, I I came to peace with,
- 1:29:26"Hey, God using me for something. I know
- 1:29:28I ain't no bad person. I don't deserve
- 1:29:30no results like this. Uh, and I'mma
- 1:29:33stand tall through this shit." Uh, we go
- 1:29:35in the courtroom. I just kept it real
- 1:29:37with the judge. Like, he was a person.
- 1:29:39You know what I mean? Said what I said.
- 1:29:41Like, my family hasn't received justice
- 1:29:43at this point. Did that mean we supposed
- 1:29:46to go without it? Not at all. So, I'm
- 1:29:49saying things like, I remember my lawyer
- 1:29:51need me under the table. Hey man, chill
- 1:29:52out. you stand too much. But uh I told
- 1:29:55the judge like, "Hey, listen. RIP DB,
- 1:29:58free sauce, and only God can judge me."
- 1:30:01And with that, you can go on with your
- 1:30:03sentence. Yeah, it's in the transcript.
- 1:30:05But uh uh the judge, you know, found me
- 1:30:09guilty. Gave me 150 years.
- 1:30:13>> More than the guy the supposed shooter.
- 1:30:16>> More.
- 1:30:17>> And you So I'm I'm so weird. I'm so
- 1:30:19weird at the time. I mean, not really
- 1:30:20weird. I'm really I'm really rare. Uh by
- 1:30:23the time I'm like, uh,
- 1:30:26all right, give me more time. [ __ ] This
- 1:30:28is a bigger accomplishment cuz I already
- 1:30:30know it ain't ending like this. You know
- 1:30:32what I'm saying? I'm I'm about to
- 1:30:34overcome more than I thought I was going
- 1:30:35to have to overcome. But bam, after I
- 1:30:39get after I get that time, it's crazy. I
- 1:30:41know.
- 1:30:41>> Not make me feel any better. That one
- 1:30:43video.
- 1:30:43>> Listen listen listen. I had two options,
- 1:30:46man. Mhm.
- 1:30:47>> I could accept reality and be under
- 1:30:50somebody bunk crying some [ __ ]
- 1:30:52way,
- 1:30:52>> right?
- 1:30:52>> Or I could be delusional slashfaithful
- 1:30:56>> and say this [ __ ] happening for a
- 1:30:57reason.
- 1:30:58>> I'm going to stand up. I'm not crying
- 1:31:00every day.
- 1:31:01>> You know what I mean? Watch this is my
- 1:31:04mindset.
- 1:31:05>> Uh so bam. Uh
- 1:31:08but I I get the time. So now I'm like a
- 1:31:12high super high class class classified
- 1:31:15inmate. Can't be with general
- 1:31:17population. Not only is he guilty, he
- 1:31:19got 150 years. He he might [ __ ] up some
- 1:31:22[ __ ] in our system,
- 1:31:23>> right?
- 1:31:24>> So I can't go back to general population
- 1:31:26and take me to administrative
- 1:31:28confinement. I'm just I'm really warped
- 1:31:31in I'm about to experiment with faith
- 1:31:33now. What else I'mma do? Accept it. I
- 1:31:38know God got a mission. So, I'm in
- 1:31:41administrative confinement, 23 hours
- 1:31:43lockdown, and come out for a shower with
- 1:31:45your handcuffs, and it's like, it's
- 1:31:47[ __ ] up. Uh, but anyway, the very next
- 1:31:50day after being placed on administrative
- 1:31:53confinement, I hear the the metal coming
- 1:31:56up the stairs and then I hear stopping
- 1:31:59my door like, "Clink, clink, clank."
- 1:32:00>> Mhm.
- 1:32:01>> Mr. Avenue, you got court.
- 1:32:03Court? I just goddamn you got sentenced
- 1:32:06yesterday. [ __ ] you mean I got court? I
- 1:32:09ain't got no court.
- 1:32:11Brain switch.
- 1:32:14I know. I know what's going on.
- 1:32:17God was pulling a prank on me. It's
- 1:32:19April Fool's Day.
- 1:32:20>> Hey, it started on April Fool's Day. You
- 1:32:22You feel what I'm saying? It started on
- 1:32:24April Fools. Now he about to show the
- 1:32:27the humor
- 1:32:29and his, you know, his correction.
- 1:32:33God pulling a prank on me. They about to
- 1:32:35pull me into court and say, "Mr.
- 1:32:36forever. I just wanted to show you what
- 1:32:38your life could be like. You know what I
- 1:32:39mean? Uh we understand what's going on
- 1:32:42and you know, we don't see that you're a
- 1:32:44bad person. We just got to show you. You
- 1:32:46got to stand strong. And you can't let
- 1:32:48emotions pull you into a dark path. I'm
- 1:32:51ready to go to this court date. [ __ ] I
- 1:32:53can't wait. Damn, God. Thank you for
- 1:32:55being so graceful. You know,
- 1:32:57>> right?
- 1:32:57>> [ __ ] I can't wait.
- 1:32:59Oh [ __ ] I'm starting to feel good. I'm
- 1:33:01smiling on the inside like, damn, I knew
- 1:33:03this wasn't real.
- 1:33:05get downstairs
- 1:33:07and put me in a holding tank with all
- 1:33:10federal people, not state people. I was
- 1:33:14on paper. I got this case. I violated,
- 1:33:16>> right?
- 1:33:17>> Oh, I know. I ain't going to federal
- 1:33:19court, am I? No. My bubble of optimism
- 1:33:24is starting to bust. I I got court for
- 1:33:27real. This ain't no This ain't no God
- 1:33:29was pulling a prank on me situation.
- 1:33:31Take me to federal court. I get
- 1:33:33violated. officially get violated cuz
- 1:33:36now I'm guilty. I'm not just was, you
- 1:33:38know, assumed of doing something. I'm
- 1:33:40guilty now. I get violated. Well, the
- 1:33:42feds say that, well, he's going to be a
- 1:33:45old man when he gets out. You know, he's
- 1:33:47going to, you know, I had 150 years. In
- 1:33:50my state, you would get out in 75. Half
- 1:33:52of that, you know, I was like, uh, 28,
- 1:33:5529 or something at the time. So, 75 plus
- 1:33:58that age.
- 1:34:0175 and 20, that's 95. say eight more.
- 1:34:04That's 103. I was going to be 103, 104
- 1:34:07when I got out. They said he gonna need
- 1:34:09to get acclimated back to society. They
- 1:34:12>> He need That's what they say.
- 1:34:14>> No, he don't need jail time. He already
- 1:34:16got enough jail time. So for your
- 1:34:18violation, when you get out, you got two
- 1:34:21years supervised release to
- 1:34:23>> at 105.
- 1:34:24>> You know, if you feel what I'm saying,
- 1:34:25right?
- 1:34:26>> I said, "All right, whatever." Now I
- 1:34:28leave federal court. They bring me back
- 1:34:31to the county and now I'm disappointed
- 1:34:34because I thought God was about to look
- 1:34:36out for me, right? But no, this was
- 1:34:39really your court date. So [ __ ] All
- 1:34:42right, whatever. I'm going back get back
- 1:34:45to the bullpens about waiting to go back
- 1:34:47to my unit. They're taking everybody up
- 1:34:49to their unit.
- 1:34:51Say, Abram, they called me out for
- 1:34:54court.
- 1:34:56Hold on. I just came for court, man.
- 1:34:58What y'all What y'all doing? So, I just
- 1:35:00came from court. They said, "Well, now
- 1:35:02you got state court." Oh, [ __ ] Hey,
- 1:35:06listen here. Y'all really about to look
- 1:35:08out? What? What else I got court for?
- 1:35:11I'm sentencing the state. I'm sentenced
- 1:35:13in the feds. I don't got nothing else to
- 1:35:15go to court for.
- 1:35:17>> Okay,
- 1:35:17>> Mr. Abram, you got state court. [ __ ] I
- 1:35:22knew God was just pulling a prank on. I
- 1:35:25knew it. Oh, sweet. All right, let's go
- 1:35:29to let's go to state court. God, [gasps]
- 1:35:32thank you. I promise you I won't never
- 1:35:33do bad again. I'll come to church every
- 1:35:36Sunday. I you know, I won't sell drugs,
- 1:35:39you know, like God, I just I just want
- 1:35:40to live for you now. God, thank you.
- 1:35:42Thank you. Thank you. I really
- 1:35:43appreciate you. [ __ ]
- 1:35:46Get into this courtroom. My family in
- 1:35:49there, they kind of lightweight smiling
- 1:35:51and [ __ ] Oh god, thank you so [ __ ]
- 1:35:54much, man.
- 1:35:56They got notified Without me knowing, I
- 1:36:00had to come to court for a sentence
- 1:36:03modification.
- 1:36:06Get up there. Well, Mr. Abram, this the
- 1:36:09judge speaking. Uh, I noticed when I
- 1:36:12sentenced you yesterday, I said that I
- 1:36:13gave you the same sentence as your
- 1:36:16cousin, codefendant Jamal Abram, which
- 1:36:18is 130 years. But on the record, I gave
- 1:36:20you 150 years. So, that was a mistake.
- 1:36:24I meant to give you 130 years. Like I
- 1:36:28can't even coach.
- 1:36:31>> So I got a sentence modification at 20
- 1:36:33years from 150 down to 130.
- 1:36:36>> Nice.
- 1:36:38>> What can I say? Man, listen here. It's
- 1:36:40all right. I'm still good cuz you're not
- 1:36:42the judge. You're not the author of my
- 1:36:44life. You understand me? You saying what
- 1:36:46you saying right now. Whatever. My faith
- 1:36:48is intact. All right, cool. I stand up.
- 1:36:50All right. You know, all right. It's all
- 1:36:53good. I'm smiling to my family. You know
- 1:36:55what I mean? I'll talk to y'all.
- 1:36:57This ain't the last time y'all see me.
- 1:37:00I'm in I'm in prison now. Uh
- 1:37:03I'm about
- 1:37:06I'm about
- 1:37:08Man, I'm only like
- 1:37:117 months into my sentence or something.
- 1:37:16So I mean since being found guilty.
- 1:37:18Yeah. So at this time
- 1:37:222012, I had been locked up like three
- 1:37:25years.
- 1:37:26Oh,
- 1:37:28you're
- 1:37:29>> you want to know about prison life?
- 1:37:30>> You're on the You're chipping away at
- 1:37:32that, aren't you? Three years off of 130
- 1:37:34already. It's not even worth.
- 1:37:35>> I'm I'm chipping that [ __ ] out. I'm
- 1:37:37tripping off at that [ __ ] I got 130
- 1:37:39years.
- 1:37:40>> So, let's say I'm not a model inmate,
- 1:37:42>> right?
- 1:37:43>> You know what I mean? I'm got I got the
- 1:37:44pack coming in, you know? I got long
- 1:37:47sharking going on. Uh, I'm just, hey, I
- 1:37:51was I was in that world and anything
- 1:37:54that I'm a part of, I just got a desire
- 1:37:56to be the best at it. I was a convict. I
- 1:37:58was an inmate. I want to be the best
- 1:38:00one.
- 1:38:02Boom. I'm I'm I'm selling trees on the
- 1:38:05yard. I'm lone sharking. I'm loaning
- 1:38:08food. Uh, anything you need on the yard.
- 1:38:11>> Running a store.
- 1:38:12>> Running the store. Holler at Rock.
- 1:38:15>> Yeah.
- 1:38:15>> Anybody on the yard will tell you holler
- 1:38:17at Rob. I'm running the poker table, you
- 1:38:19know? I mean, like I come in from the
- 1:38:20poker table with 4 500 tokens on me,
- 1:38:23stuffed in every boot, every sock,
- 1:38:25every, you know, hidden uh component to
- 1:38:28make cuz the limit is 25. You know what
- 1:38:30I mean?
- 1:38:31>> Right.
- 1:38:31>> That tokens is money on the yard. I'm
- 1:38:34coming in every day, three, four, 500 of
- 1:38:36them, you know? Uh
- 1:38:39uh may look like uh I'm coming in
- 1:38:41handing off tokens while I got people in
- 1:38:44the in in the day room cooking burritos
- 1:38:48for the entire unit.
- 1:38:50Like for real. Like I really done these
- 1:38:53kind of things in prison. It's crazy
- 1:38:55because I It's crazy. It don't really
- 1:38:57deserve like an applause or nothing, but
- 1:38:59it's just like ties into me, man.
- 1:39:01however I'm living, whichever angle,
- 1:39:04aspect I'm in, I just want to be the
- 1:39:06best at it, you know? So, that was me
- 1:39:08being the best at what I was doing,
- 1:39:09getting the bag in, flooding the yard or
- 1:39:12whatever, cooking for everybody, and you
- 1:39:14know, uh, building my legacy. Whether
- 1:39:18that legacy was the
- 1:39:21certain whatever inmate, I was building
- 1:39:24my legacy. Uh,
- 1:39:28March 7th,
- 1:39:31I have oral arguments for my appeal.
- 1:39:35Let's back it up. My lawyer found the
- 1:39:37actual error in my jury instructions.
- 1:39:40>> How long? For how after how long?
- 1:39:43>> I got found guilty here in 2010.
- 1:39:48Got sentenced the beginning of 2011.
- 1:39:53And
- 1:39:55in July of 2012, I actually won.
- 1:39:59So,
- 1:40:00>> okay.
- 1:40:00>> In between the beginning of 2011 and the
- 1:40:03middle of 2012, the error was found.
- 1:40:08We had the uh oral arguments in uh March
- 1:40:11March 7th, 2012. I gotta say this too,
- 1:40:14man, because
- 1:40:17it's it just it it it does something to
- 1:40:20my mind to when I think back on it. All
- 1:40:22these guys in here, life sentences,
- 1:40:24>> 400 years for this, you know, 300 years
- 1:40:26for that, life sentence plus 60 years
- 1:40:29and 90 years and they on the yard
- 1:40:32playing poker
- 1:40:34>> and playing basketball and hey, that's
- 1:40:37cool. But they not at the law library,
- 1:40:41right?
- 1:40:42>> They accepting what they got going.
- 1:40:44Either they accepting it or putting it
- 1:40:47off in somebody else hands. That's fine,
- 1:40:49but I got to be active with mine. my
- 1:40:51life too valuable to solely depend on. I
- 1:40:53don't care how esteemed the lawyer is,
- 1:40:56I'm going to be involved with this
- 1:40:57situation. So, I end up going to the
- 1:41:00hole administrative confinement again. I
- 1:41:04ain't got in trouble. I ain't got into
- 1:41:06no fight, nothing like that. But with
- 1:41:08the with the operations I was running on
- 1:41:11the yard, a lot of people would owe me,
- 1:41:14you know, money, whatnot. And uh I'll be
- 1:41:18waiting on my money sometime and it
- 1:41:20don't be coming when it supposed to
- 1:41:21come. I'm in the jungle. You understand
- 1:41:23me? I can't I can't just like let it
- 1:41:26slide.
- 1:41:26>> So you have your attorney write them a
- 1:41:28letter saying that they owe
- 1:41:30>> No. Hell no.
- 1:41:30>> Like a collection letter?
- 1:41:32>> No. I I pull up. I pull up. You know
- 1:41:34what I mean? Like hey, what's happening?
- 1:41:36You understand me? Uh I need that. Or
- 1:41:38you know what I mean? Like I mean not
- 1:41:40that I want to be or trying to be, but I
- 1:41:42have to be. I need that. If I don't got
- 1:41:45that on such and such, then hey,
- 1:41:47>> they go to the warden or the lieutenant.
- 1:41:49So,
- 1:41:49>> so they dropping kites, man. And I gotta
- 1:41:52say this too, man. I don't want to give
- 1:41:53y'all too.
- 1:41:54>> How come they don't check in? How come
- 1:41:55they don't check in?
- 1:41:56>> Some some of them have.
- 1:41:57>> Okay.
- 1:41:58>> Like I've wrote letters, you know, to
- 1:42:00send out to the streets and they get
- 1:42:01sent back in to this person like, "Hey,
- 1:42:03you know, you got to come out one day."
- 1:42:05>> Yeah.
- 1:42:05>> So, it's going to be what it's going to
- 1:42:07be. You know what I mean? But anyway, it
- 1:42:10just it's so blatant
- 1:42:13how different my perspective is now than
- 1:42:16it used to be because I'm at home one
- 1:42:19day going through my prison tote and I
- 1:42:22was looking for something uh
- 1:42:23specifically something my daughter a
- 1:42:25letter my daughter wrote to me. I was
- 1:42:26looking for something specifically a
- 1:42:28letter my daughter wrote to me and while
- 1:42:30looking for that I stumbled across all
- 1:42:32my paperwork like my writeups and stuff
- 1:42:34like that and it's I'm reading it like
- 1:42:38you know inmate uh wrote a kite on this
- 1:42:41saying Mr. Abram was going to come into
- 1:42:43his room. Inmate Abram was running a
- 1:42:46lone shark operation charging 20% per
- 1:42:49week. Uh imilate inmate Abram uh was
- 1:42:53receiving uh marijuana, you know, such
- 1:42:56and such such and such. And inmate Abram
- 1:42:59tells another inmate connect the dots
- 1:43:02and whatever would you and it's just
- 1:43:05giving my resume. I'm like, "God damn,
- 1:43:07this what I was." Inmate Abram tells
- 1:43:10other inmate, "Uh, you a [ __ ] [ __ ]
- 1:43:12You cut it out. Such and such, such and
- 1:43:14such." I'm like, "Damn, I was coming at
- 1:43:17[ __ ] like that." Uh, inmate Abram
- 1:43:19sends a letter out to his mom and has
- 1:43:21her send it back in to another inmate.
- 1:43:24Uh, saying, "Uh, I'm just seeking I'm
- 1:43:26just seeking mom and if you want to get
- 1:43:27on some bigger [ __ ] I got to get on
- 1:43:29some big if I'm just inmate Abram sends
- 1:43:33letter out to his mom." And his mom
- 1:43:35sends back in, you know what I mean, to
- 1:43:37the institution. And inmate Abram is
- 1:43:39saying, uh, to the other inmate, "If you
- 1:43:42want to get on some [ __ ] I ain't
- 1:43:43got no choice but get on some bigger
- 1:43:44[ __ ] I just need what's mine."
- 1:43:46basically or like damn this who you like
- 1:43:49it shocks my system like what the [ __ ]
- 1:43:52this how you was moving but I had 130
- 1:43:54years though.
- 1:43:55>> Yeah.
- 1:43:56>> I don't got the same mind.
- 1:43:58>> Yeah.
- 1:43:58>> You feel what I'm saying?
- 1:44:00>> Uh
- 1:44:02I go to the hole.
- 1:44:03>> People owe me. I'm I'm pushing an
- 1:44:06envelope. They dropping kites.
- 1:44:08Boom. They come get me. After so many
- 1:44:10kites, so many accusations. It's just
- 1:44:12like it is what it is.
- 1:44:13>> He's a problemat
- 1:44:16now. Now they zeroed in on me. Like that
- 1:44:18letter I sent out. I know that they got
- 1:44:20that letter cuz this is now it's in my
- 1:44:21paperwork,
- 1:44:22>> right?
- 1:44:22>> We we uh captured this letter saying
- 1:44:24this, saying that. And you know what I
- 1:44:26mean? So uh they was on me. They took me
- 1:44:29to administrative confinement. Best
- 1:44:32thing ever. The law of manifestation
- 1:44:35began to take place. Uh so when you go
- 1:44:38to administrative confinement, you don't
- 1:44:40get your own TV, you know. Uh you don't
- 1:44:44get no TV.
- 1:44:47the
- 1:44:47>> fact that you get TVs at all.
- 1:44:49>> You don't get no entertainment, right? I
- 1:44:50don't
- 1:44:50>> have any TV. I never had any TV.
- 1:44:52>> Yeah. State joint is better than feds in
- 1:44:55that way. Yeah.
- 1:44:55>> The Feds is so much better on other
- 1:44:57levels, but that's one of the, you know,
- 1:45:00pros, one of the perks of the state
- 1:45:02joint.
- 1:45:03>> So, but 45 days though, I just had oral
- 1:45:06arguments. Right now I'm in the hole. No
- 1:45:09people around me, no television around
- 1:45:12me, just me and my thoughts. My thoughts
- 1:45:16>> read books.
- 1:45:17>> I mean, I I get books. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:45:19>> But my thoughts was my entertainment.
- 1:45:22>> Uh,
- 1:45:23and I'll be in that cell, man. And I
- 1:45:26just start to think about the day I get
- 1:45:29released. And I, you know, I start to
- 1:45:31see it in my mind. I start to really
- 1:45:34feel it in my spirit. You know, I see
- 1:45:36myself, you know, walking across the
- 1:45:38yard and the inmates, you know, cheering
- 1:45:40for me. And you know, I walk out the
- 1:45:42front door and my family out there and I
- 1:45:45and I hug them and we happy and I go to
- 1:45:48the cell phone store and get my first
- 1:45:50phone. I go to the barber shop and get,
- 1:45:52you know, get my douge on. I'm seeing in
- 1:45:54my mind every day and I'm feeling it.
- 1:45:56I'm smiling. I'm It feels good cuz it's
- 1:45:59really happening for myself in that
- 1:46:00moment. And maybe it's just a theory. I
- 1:46:03don't know. But I felt like I was
- 1:46:04manifesting that like I was creating
- 1:46:07that during that span. Fast forward,
- 1:46:11every Friday, I'm still in a hole. Every
- 1:46:14Friday, the rulings come out for the
- 1:46:16courts far as, you know, appeals on
- 1:46:19decisions, right? Uh
- 1:46:21I'm watching the news every Friday for
- 1:46:23to see if my case come across there. Uh
- 1:46:27Friday the 13th, which was July the
- 1:46:3013th, before the news could come on, the
- 1:46:33cops came to my cell and was like, "Uh,
- 1:46:36Mr. Abram,
- 1:46:38pack up.
- 1:46:42Pack up. It's court ruling day.
- 1:46:44>> Mhm.
- 1:46:45>> I want my appeal.
- 1:46:47I'm thinking it, but they ain't said it
- 1:46:48to me. I said I said I said, "What's up?
- 1:46:50Where I'm going?" They say, "You going
- 1:46:52to Tecumpsa.
- 1:46:54Tecumpsa
- 1:46:56is a supermax joint in Nebraska." I was
- 1:46:59at NSP. That's a maximum joint, but they
- 1:47:01got the maximum and the and the medium
- 1:47:03side. But I was on the maximum side.
- 1:47:05They tell me I'm going to Tecumpsa the
- 1:47:08supermax.
- 1:47:09I'm like, "Nah, not on a Friday, the
- 1:47:13appeal day." Nah. I said, "I have won my
- 1:47:16appeal, but they can't tell me right
- 1:47:18now. They got to walk me up front and
- 1:47:20they got to be secretive or whatever."
- 1:47:22And then when I about to check out,
- 1:47:24that's when they going to tell me,
- 1:47:25right?
- 1:47:25>> You know what I mean? Like, oh [ __ ]
- 1:47:28Okay, let me get the bag. Let me get the
- 1:47:29bag. I'm about to go home. I can't
- 1:47:31believe this [ __ ] I pack up my [ __ ]
- 1:47:33Boom. They still said I'm going to Ksa,
- 1:47:36but I know that ain't true though. Going
- 1:47:38up front with my property and [ __ ]
- 1:47:39walking across the yard, you know,
- 1:47:41remember the vision. I seen people
- 1:47:43waving by to me, congratulating,
- 1:47:44applauding.
- 1:47:45>> Yeah.
- 1:47:46>> But instead, it ain't all the way
- 1:47:47accurate. They just saying, "What's
- 1:47:48going on? Where you going?" said, "Man,
- 1:47:50they said I'm going to toss to Kamsa." I
- 1:47:53said, "Man, that what they say, but I
- 1:47:56walking like wait later on watch the
- 1:47:59news. Uh, get up front
- 1:48:03holding tank. It's a lot of dudes in
- 1:48:06there.
- 1:48:08Where you going?
- 1:48:08>> I said I said I said I said
- 1:48:10>> where you going?
- 1:48:10>> I said where y'all going? They said,
- 1:48:12man, we going to Kamsa. I said, what the
- 1:48:16[ __ ] All right. Okay. They do got a bus
- 1:48:19load going to Kamsa,
- 1:48:20>> but they not taking me. They going to
- 1:48:22take them and they won't let me out cuz
- 1:48:24I just want my appeal. They just ain't
- 1:48:25told me yet. You know what I mean? This
- 1:48:27my mindset, my guy. I'm never accepting
- 1:48:29failure. They take me to the council for
- 1:48:31real. What the [ __ ] is Why they do why
- 1:48:34they got to drag it out this much? They
- 1:48:35going to let me out here, man. I could
- 1:48:37end up going to my sale. It's hours
- 1:48:40later. So, when you transfer over, you
- 1:48:42don't get your property right away. I
- 1:48:44mean, you got to wait a while. They got
- 1:48:46to go through everything, make sure you
- 1:48:47ain't try to sneak nothing in, all that.
- 1:48:49Now, we're still in a hole, though.
- 1:48:51>> Everybody that went to Tecumpsa, we're
- 1:48:53in the hole. M they're transferring us
- 1:48:55because there was just a riot on the
- 1:48:57yard the day before and they're just
- 1:49:00getting rid of some more highprofile or
- 1:49:02high classified inmates to make room on
- 1:49:06the in the hole for these individuals.
- 1:49:09So we c
- 1:49:11Friday July 13th
- 1:49:14uh I'm waiting for my property but I'm
- 1:49:18I'm so tired of being in transit all day

- 1:50:54use the phone when you're in the hole,
- 1:50:56you got to put in the kite. uh in a
- 1:50:59inmate interview request form at least
- 1:51:0048 hours before you want to use it. So I
- 1:51:03get there on a Friday. I put in a kite.
- 1:51:05I want to use the phone for Sunday.
- 1:51:09Sunday come
- 1:51:11they bring the phone over to they will
- 1:51:13the phone to my door. I got to reach out
- 1:51:15to Hatch reach up poke the numbers or
- 1:51:18whatnot. And uh I'm just letting I want
- 1:51:21to let my family know I got moved,
- 1:51:23>> right?
- 1:51:23>> You know what I mean? and I'm in a
- 1:51:24different location now and it's a much
- 1:51:26different environment now too. So I call
- 1:51:29my bae mom
- 1:51:31and I tell her like uh like yeah I'm
- 1:51:35into counc now you know I'm just giving
- 1:51:36her the update and she say what's going
- 1:51:40on with the appeal now that shocked me
- 1:51:43because
- 1:51:45I was aware that I was like the only one
- 1:51:48that was more so delusional like this
- 1:51:50ain't my reality something going to
- 1:51:52change
- 1:51:53>> and everybody else was more so like
- 1:51:56>> you're going to do this time
- 1:51:57>> I And they don't want that for me. They
- 1:52:00hope they hope
- 1:52:01>> that something changes, but they don't
- 1:52:03got the faith that I got.
- 1:52:04>> And I could see that in them.
- 1:52:06>> Uh so when she asked me about my appeal,
- 1:52:09my mind I'm like for what? Like you
- 1:52:11don't ever talk about this. This
- 1:52:13something you probably want to avoid.
- 1:52:15You don't believe me. Uh I said [ __ ]
- 1:52:18I'm still waiting. Why? What's up? She
- 1:52:21said she said, "No, you won. You didn't
- 1:52:25know?" I said, "What?
- 1:52:28She said, "You won your appeal this
- 1:52:30Friday. It was on the news. Everything
- 1:52:33overturned."
- 1:52:35Man, I must have stuck my head out the
- 1:52:36hatch. I'm in the hole talking to
- 1:52:38everybody. I met a guy down there,
- 1:52:39Thunder Collins. Uh some other guys,
- 1:52:41too. But that was the guy I talked to
- 1:52:43the most. Like, hey, Thunder,
- 1:52:46I won. Like, [ __ ] I won. You know, I
- 1:52:49mean, I'm celebrating. I'm I'm
- 1:52:50celebrating with people I don't even
- 1:52:52know. Like, hey, C4, I won. You know, so
- 1:52:55I get back on the phone. I said, "What?"
- 1:52:57She said, "You won. Like everything
- 1:53:00overturned." Oh my god. I got I knew it
- 1:53:04was going to happen. I ain't never lost
- 1:53:06faith. You know what I mean? So, bam, I
- 1:53:08went my appeal.
- 1:53:10>> Really quick, can you go back and
- 1:53:12explain what the appeal was about?
- 1:53:14>> The whole duration of trial had
- 1:53:16concluded
- 1:53:18and on the last day of trial,
- 1:53:21I felt like it was like 5050. I don't
- 1:53:25know. Right.
- 1:53:26Uh, no. Like 6040 my way cuz I'm being
- 1:53:30optimistic, you know. Uh, but I'm like,
- 1:53:33damn, am I really going to win? Know, am
- 1:53:36I hoping to win or can I win? Like, I
- 1:53:39ain't for sure. I think I need to
- 1:53:41testify. I need I think I need to get my
- 1:53:44side of the story, you know? uh if
- 1:53:49130 years and going home is decided upon
- 1:53:51one more thing. Listen, let me try to
- 1:53:54sway these [ __ ]
- 1:53:56A girl had already testified that I was
- 1:53:58with her that night.
- 1:54:00>> Yeah.
- 1:54:00>> Okay.
- 1:54:01>> Yeah. So, uh I'm like, man, I need to go
- 1:54:04ahead and get up there and validate that
- 1:54:06story and
- 1:54:08sway these [ __ ] It happened on
- 1:54:10a Friday, though. But I
- 1:54:12>> Your girl says it.
- 1:54:13>> Not my girl.
- 1:54:14>> What?
- 1:54:14>> She's not my girl. Just a girl that I
- 1:54:16was
- 1:54:17>> a girl. Yeah.
- 1:54:18>> Okay. A girl says you were with her.
- 1:54:20>> Yeah.
- 1:54:21>> The victim says you weren't there.
- 1:54:24>> You get on the stand and say,
- 1:54:26>> "Well, hold on. I don't get on the
- 1:54:27stand."
- 1:54:27>> Oh, you don't? I was going to say, "I
- 1:54:28don't understand what's so listen." So,
- 1:54:30listen. So, I'm like, "Do I want to get
- 1:54:33on the stand?" Right.
- 1:54:34>> This happens on a Friday.
- 1:54:37So, being undecided, my judge asked,
- 1:54:40"Can I have the weekend to decide if I
- 1:54:42want to testify or not?"
- 1:54:44So I go through the weekend processing
- 1:54:47like, you know, do I want to, you know,
- 1:54:49get up there? What kind of [ __ ] can I
- 1:54:51get caught up in? I'mma [ __ ] around and
- 1:54:54be bad for myself. And uh
- 1:54:59just the unknown. I said, "No, I ain't I
- 1:55:02ain't test like that." That's what saved
- 1:55:05me. First of all, not getting caught
- 1:55:07before trial saved me. And now not
- 1:55:11testifying at my trial saved me. I know
- 1:55:14you probably say how?
- 1:55:15>> So let me tell you if I had testified at
- 1:55:19my trial. Okay. The instruction that
- 1:55:22saved me. I came home on a on a on a
- 1:55:24technicality a juror uh a jury
- 1:55:28instruction error.
- 1:55:29>> Right.
- 1:55:29>> All right. If I testify,
- 1:55:32the instruction that saved me won't
- 1:55:35exist.
- 1:55:36>> Okay. So, whenever you don't testify at
- 1:55:38your trial, they got to give an
- 1:55:40instruction to the jury that says the
- 1:55:44fact the defendant didn't testify must
- 1:55:47not be considered an admission of guilt.
- 1:55:49>> Right.
- 1:55:49>> Right. So, say you're a juror and this
- 1:55:52guy's a defendant, but he ain't taking a
- 1:55:55stand. He ain't saying what happened
- 1:55:56where he was really at.
- 1:55:57>> You can't consider that that may may
- 1:55:59make him guilty.
- 1:56:00>> Exactly. But you but you may have the
- 1:56:02natural inclination to kind of feel
- 1:56:03like, why he ain't saying nothing,
- 1:56:05right? He's probably did it. So, they
- 1:56:07got to give an instruction to make you
- 1:56:09not think that,
- 1:56:10>> right?
- 1:56:11>> The fact the defendant didn't testify
- 1:56:13must not be considered an admission of
- 1:56:15guilt.
- 1:56:15>> Right?
- 1:56:16>> Because I didn't testify, that
- 1:56:18instruction was given. Right? If I do
- 1:56:21testify, that's not given. Decide not to
- 1:56:24testify, that instruction is given.
- 1:56:27My instruction said
- 1:56:30the fact the defendant didn't testify
- 1:56:34must be considered an admission of
- 1:56:36guilt.
- 1:56:37>> Was it just an accident?
- 1:56:39>> The word not was missing.
- 1:56:43You hear me?
- 1:56:44>> Right. No, it ain't no accident. It was
- 1:56:46on purpose by God.
- 1:56:48>> Okay.
- 1:56:48>> It was an accident by a human error,
- 1:56:52>> but God did it on purpose. And when I
- 1:56:54this why I say that I don't know how
- 1:56:56many instructions I had man 20 something
- 1:56:58instructions you know
- 1:57:01I don't know uh if I'mma guesstimate I
- 1:57:04think that I would be accurate by saying
- 1:57:08it was roughly 10,000 words and I'm
- 1:57:12somewhere in the ballpark of how many
- 1:57:14words it was throughout all of my
- 1:57:16instructions.
- 1:57:18Out of those 10,000 words,
- 1:57:21you cannot go throughout my instructions
- 1:57:24and find one singular word aside from
- 1:57:28the one that was missing. There's not
- 1:57:30one other singular word that you can go
- 1:57:32find that would turn my conviction over.
- 1:57:36>> Right?
- 1:57:38>> That one word being missing, it was God.
- 1:57:41Understand me? He been having his hand
- 1:57:42on me my entire life. Uh, so now
- 1:57:47with that word being missing, I didn't
- 1:57:49receive a fair trial.
- 1:57:52>> Yeah, it's it's it's a clerical error,
- 1:57:55>> but you cannot assume. Well, they know
- 1:57:58the word not was supposed to be there.
- 1:58:00>> You know, by the law, you got to assume
- 1:58:02that they took this instruction at face
- 1:58:04value. And therefore, they were
- 1:58:06instructed to because I didn't testify
- 1:58:09to assume that I'm guilty, right? I
- 1:58:11didn't get a fair trial. I got to go
- 1:58:13back for a fair trial now. It took two
- 1:58:15months for me to get back to court
- 1:58:18because the state get the chance to like
- 1:58:21appeal the decision.
- 1:58:23>> So I get back to the county two months
- 1:58:25later go through my start going through
- 1:58:27I'm not innocent. I just want the
- 1:58:30technicality.
- 1:58:31>> Yeah. Yeah. You just get a new trial.
- 1:58:32>> A new trial. Well, my ken folk testified
- 1:58:36on me the first trial.
- 1:58:37>> Yeah.
- 1:58:38>> Remember the female
- 1:58:40didn't identify me ever. Right.
- 1:58:42>> Only person that that harmed me was my
- 1:58:44kin folk.
- 1:58:45>> He didn't want to do that.
- 1:58:47>> He did that cuz he was facing that
- 1:58:48elbow, that life sentence. And you know,
- 1:58:50he got that off of him. And now I got a
- 1:58:53second trial.
- 1:58:55There's no incentive
- 1:58:57to get him to testify on me now.
- 1:58:59>> Well, what did he get?
- 1:59:00>> He ended up getting 31 to 55.
- 1:59:03>> Okay.
- 1:59:04>> Yeah. He's still in jail.
- 1:59:05>> No, he's out now.
- 1:59:06>> No, now he is then.
- 1:59:09>> But at that time, he was still in
- 1:59:10prison.
- 1:59:10>> Yeah. He could have testified. You're
- 1:59:12going to give him something more for
- 1:59:13second. No. No. They can't give him a
- 1:59:15second deal.
- 1:59:16>> Really? They can't state in the state.
- 1:59:18In Nebraska at least
- 1:59:20>> in the feds that have given him a
- 1:59:21second.
- 1:59:22>> So, listen. They It's the same case, I
- 1:59:24guess. I don't know. They cannot give
- 1:59:26him a second bonus for this same
- 1:59:28situation. So, he got his bonus for
- 1:59:31testifying the first time.
- 1:59:32>> He's good.
- 1:59:33>> Now, I got a second trial that he can't
- 1:59:36get no incentive for,
- 1:59:37>> right?
- 1:59:37>> He ain't [ __ ] with him.
- 1:59:39>> You know what I mean? So now you got one
- 1:59:41woman that says you weren't there.
- 1:59:43>> Exactly. But they're saying that they
- 1:59:46can use his transcripts from the first
- 1:59:48trial, which is a bluff tact tactic if
- 1:59:50you ask me. But my even my lawyers like
- 1:59:52they don't know if they going to be able
- 1:59:53to get it in. We like we could they my
- 1:59:55lawyers say uh I got two lawyers again.
- 1:59:57My lawyers say uh well we get to
- 2:00:00cross-examine them. Prosecution say he
- 2:00:03was cross-examined the first trial.
- 2:00:05>> It was different lawyers.
- 2:00:06>> It's different lawyers. Yeah.
- 2:00:08>> No, I didn't cross-examine him. Anyway,
- 2:00:09it was like it was it was it was a topic
- 2:00:12that was in the air that I like I say
- 2:00:14blood.
- 2:00:15>> It's an argument. It's an argument.
- 2:00:16>> So,
- 2:00:18with the case not being strong, they
- 2:00:20come at me with 40 years. They ain't
- 2:00:22coming with they they didn't come with
- 2:00:24no plea bargains. The first trial
- 2:00:26situation,
- 2:00:27>> right?
- 2:00:28>> They come with 40 years.
- 2:00:31I ain't doing that.
- 2:00:33On 40, you got to do 20, right? I only
- 2:00:36been down like like three,
- 2:00:38>> right? like three is some change or
- 2:00:40something like that mean I got to do 17
- 2:00:42more and I just want my appeal. My
- 2:00:44mindset is I'm going home. Nah, I ain't
- 2:00:46taking 17 more. I ain't taking 40 years.
- 2:00:50They come at me with 30 years.
- 2:00:52Let's go to trial. They ain't got no
- 2:00:54case. Let's go to trial. They come at me
- 2:00:56with 20 years. Let's go to trial. I'm
- 2:01:00not thinking about going to do no more
- 2:01:02time when I win my appeal. Y'all coming
- 2:01:05at me with these deals cuz y'all don't
- 2:01:06got nothing. and I ain't accepting what
- 2:01:09y offering. Either give me time served
- 2:01:11or let's go to trial. That's what my
- 2:01:13stance. So when they come at me with the
- 2:01:1520 years and I deny that, my lawyers
- 2:01:19call my mom. They said basically your
- 2:01:21son tripping. You know what I mean? He
- 2:01:23just had 130 years. They trying to give
- 2:01:25him 20 years, which means he would have
- 2:01:28to do 10. You already got three and some
- 2:01:30change in seven.
- 2:01:32>> You know what I mean? Six is some
- 2:01:34change. Plus he'll go to work release.
- 2:01:36You know what I mean? 3 4 years. So
- 2:01:39he's tripping.
- 2:01:42Mom, come visit me in the county. I'm
- 2:01:44like, "Mom, I ain't I'm not taking no 20
- 2:01:46years. I ain't got nothing." Long story
- 2:01:48short, mom's put her little spell on me
- 2:01:51and I'm like, "All right." I said, "All
- 2:01:53right, I take the 20." So when I take
- 2:01:56the when I tell myself I'm going to take
- 2:01:57the 20, my brain switch. I say, "Man,
- 2:02:01you know what? Celebrate.
- 2:02:04So what? You know, six is some change
- 2:02:06mode. So what? You had 130.
- 2:02:09>> Celebrate this. Feel good. Don't feel
- 2:02:11sad. This is a win. You know what I
- 2:02:13mean? This is a victory.
- 2:02:15>> That mindset began to come out. I'm on
- 2:02:19the phone calling different people. You
- 2:02:21know, little friends like, "Hey, listen,
- 2:02:24man. Look, all right. I'll be home. You
- 2:02:26know what I mean? About about five of
- 2:02:27them, you know, about four or five of
- 2:02:29them I'll be in work release, you know,
- 2:02:31and then, you know, I mean, I be in work
- 2:02:33release for a minute. But when I'm in
- 2:02:34work, it's like, you know, I can still
- 2:02:35move it around and I'm celebrating
- 2:02:37through these phone calls.
- 2:02:39Now I go to court to actually take the
- 2:02:43deal and formally first it was just my
- 2:02:46lawyers bringing it to me.
- 2:02:47>> Yeah.
- 2:02:48>> All right, I'll take it. We go to court
- 2:02:49to take it. When I walk into the
- 2:02:51courtroom, my family is like not looking
- 2:02:54happy. They looking like scared,
- 2:02:57worried, not good. So I'm [ __ ] up off
- 2:03:00the dribble. sit at the table. My
- 2:03:03lawyer's like, "Uh,
- 2:03:06the victim's family doesn't approve of
- 2:03:08the deal. It's off the table."
- 2:03:13Back to square one. I'm in the county.
- 2:03:16They saying, the prosecution is saying,
- 2:03:18"We going to trial."
- 2:03:19>> Okay.
- 2:03:20>> They like, "We're not giving you 20
- 2:03:21years. What you did was too horrific. We
- 2:03:23are not going to give you 20 years.
- 2:03:25We'll take the chances of losing trial
- 2:03:27before we give you 20 years. The least
- 2:03:29we going to give you is 30 years.
- 2:03:32I ain't taking it. I got rap dreams. I
- 2:03:35got, you know, I got ghetto dreams.
- 2:03:37Sorry. Uh I I got dreams that are
- 2:03:41unachieved at the moment. Uh I'm not
- 2:03:44taking 30 years. That's 15. I got to
- 2:03:47bring y'all like 12 more. I'm not taking
- 2:03:5030 years. Uh
- 2:03:53they tell my mom again. They my mom my
- 2:03:55weak spot. They call my mom. Listen, I
- 2:03:58think your son should take it. It's
- 2:04:00guaranteed you come home. You know, uh
- 2:04:03trial is a risk. You know, no matter how
- 2:04:05sure it may seem, there's still a risk.
- 2:04:08And I would hate to be in a position of,
- 2:04:10you know, whatever. She come visit me.
- 2:04:13Mom, I'm not taking her 30 years. Mom,
- 2:04:16mom, I got I got so much to do. My
- 2:04:20babies will be certain and such age.
- 2:04:21Like, mom, like they don't got nothing.
- 2:04:24I'm going to trial. She bring my baby
- 2:04:26mom with her though. Man, they start
- 2:04:29crying.
- 2:04:30Mom's like, "I never thought I'd see you
- 2:04:32again outside of a visiting room." And
- 2:04:35and
- 2:04:37man, long story short, man, I remember
- 2:04:39crying with him and I said I said, "All
- 2:04:43right." And she was like, "What? You a
- 2:04:46take it?" No, I think I said, "Yeah." I
- 2:04:49said I said one word,
- 2:04:51but I didn't explain what that one word
- 2:04:53meant, but she just latched on to it and
- 2:04:55said, "What? You would take it?"
- 2:04:57said, "Yeah, I I'll take it." And they
- 2:05:00start thanking me and like, "Okay, we
- 2:05:02got your back." And you know, like,
- 2:05:03"Listen, this is a win." And you know,
- 2:05:05trying to make me feel good, but I'm
- 2:05:07like, "Man, it's my [ __ ]
- 2:05:08problem. My life over with. [ __ ] ain't
- 2:05:10no good." So, but I still say I'mma take
- 2:05:13it though. Uh,
- 2:05:16and the visit with them, I get on the
- 2:05:17phone with my lawyers.
- 2:05:20I ain't taking no 30 years, right?
- 2:05:24I couldn't I couldn't I couldn't I
- 2:05:25couldn't do it, man. So I said, man, I
- 2:05:28started pieces together now. I said,
- 2:05:30what happened is ain't no victim family,
- 2:05:33nothing. I said, they heard me on these
- 2:05:34phone calls celebrating and being happy
- 2:05:37about this 20 years.
- 2:05:39>> So now I come to court, they like, "No,
- 2:05:40we can we can get some more time out
- 2:05:42this dude." So this is what I'm telling
- 2:05:45myself. I said, "Man, listen." First
- 2:05:48thing they said, first they said 20
- 2:05:49years. Now they saying 30 years. We can
- 2:05:53do 25. We'll meet in the middle and do
- 2:05:5425 or we're going to trial.
- 2:05:57>> That's it. They said, "Okay, I'll take
- 2:05:59it to them. See what they say." They
- 2:06:01accept it. And the beauty in it is in
- 2:06:04order for me to get 25 locked in, they
- 2:06:06had to change my charges. My original
- 2:06:10charges, attempted murder,
- 2:06:12>> Mhm.
- 2:06:12uh conspiracy to murder, use of a weapon
- 2:06:15to commit a felony, a witness tampering.
- 2:06:18Those charges together was was maxed
- 2:06:21like uh 50 5050
- 2:06:25years. So if I accept the deal, the
- 2:06:27judge still got the discretion
- 2:06:29>> to sentence me anywhere in that range,
- 2:06:32even though the prosecution is saying
- 2:06:33whatever number. So
- 2:06:36>> you're giving him a max out sentence.
- 2:06:38>> Yeah. So the judge wouldn't accept or
- 2:06:40>> sorry, a max out charge. Sorry.
- 2:06:42>> So the judge wouldn't agree to 25 years,
- 2:06:44right? As and it's good that we found
- 2:06:48that out because if we didn't find that
- 2:06:50out, I would agree to something and then
- 2:06:52go get whacked. But the judge wouldn't
- 2:06:54sign off on 25 years. So now the
- 2:06:56prosecution had to modify their charges.
- 2:07:00Now my charges are, what's on my record
- 2:07:02are attempted assault and accessory to a
- 2:07:07felony.
- 2:07:09Some [ __ ]
- 2:07:10>> Mhm.
- 2:07:10>> You know what I mean? But in order one
- 2:07:12of the charges carry a maximum of 20
- 2:07:14years and the one carry a maximum of 5
- 2:07:16years. The max the judge could give me
- 2:07:18is 25 years.
- 2:07:19>> Right.
- 2:07:19>> So he gave me the max 25 years. I had to
- 2:07:22do 12.
- 2:07:22>> Was he happy about that?
- 2:07:24>> Uh I mean I was I was cool. I
- 2:07:26>> No, not you. So was was the judge happy?
- 2:07:28>> Hell no. Hell no. That's that's one of
- 2:07:32the reason I moved out of Nebraska, man.
- 2:07:33I feel like I'm a target like to the to
- 2:07:35the system. Like if they get any
- 2:07:37opportunity, man, they going to make an
- 2:07:39example. They they going to create an
- 2:07:40example. But one thing I can't skip over
- 2:07:43though, sauce.
- 2:07:45>> Mhm.
- 2:07:45>> Is innocent.
- 2:07:47>> Right.
- 2:07:47>> Right. Uh during the proceedings of my
- 2:07:52appeal or after my appeal, after I win
- 2:07:55my appeal, I'm I'm I'm not at peace in
- 2:07:58here, right? How I win my appeal? But he
- 2:08:02didn't win his like this life still
- 2:08:05ain't right. I'm so thankful that God
- 2:08:07didn't turn this around for me. But
- 2:08:09what's right about this? When you got
- 2:08:11this guy still here, I got to fix it.
- 2:08:14You know what I mean? If God ain't going
- 2:08:15to fix it, and not saying that he ain't,
- 2:08:18but I guess I'm more in the rush. Uh I
- 2:08:21had to step up to the plate.
- 2:08:24Uh the the beauty in the situation is
- 2:08:27that the victim didn't die. And I'm
- 2:08:29thankful that the victim didn't die cuz
- 2:08:31I I I would much rather end my life here
- 2:08:35with knowing I didn't take a life, you
- 2:08:38know, even though in that moment that's
- 2:08:39what I wanted. Uh so I'm happy that that
- 2:08:42ending didn't take place. But the beauty
- 2:08:44in it is that there's statute of
- 2:08:45limitations on that charge now. Right.
- 2:08:48>> Right.
- 2:08:49>> So now after I win my appeal, statute of
- 2:08:52limitations pass,
- 2:08:54I come forward.
- 2:08:56>> Right.
- 2:08:57Everything y'all said this man did, I
- 2:09:00did that,
- 2:09:01>> right? And you've already been
- 2:09:02sentenced.
- 2:09:03>> Yeah.
- 2:09:03>> You've already done the time.
- 2:09:05>> Oh, yeah. So, his brother had went
- 2:09:08basically went along with the victim
- 2:09:10statement cuz he don't know, like I
- 2:09:12said, you know, got on the mask or
- 2:09:14whatnot, like, you know, I didn't just,
- 2:09:16you know, show myself or whatever. And
- 2:09:18he just went with her story. Uh but
- 2:09:21through going with her story, he he gave
- 2:09:24off some lies, you know, because he's
- 2:09:26just trying to tag team with the story.
- 2:09:27He's saying stuff he don't really know.
- 2:09:30So he's saying like, bam, after the
- 2:09:32situation, we threw the gun in a certain
- 2:09:35spot. The police went and searched that
- 2:09:37spot. There's no gun there. If he was
- 2:09:40telling you the truth, this was
- 2:09:42underground sewer. If he was telling you
- 2:09:44the truth, then the gun would be there.
- 2:09:47So to validate that I'm telling you the
- 2:09:50truth, you got an innocent man locked
- 2:09:53up. Not only am I telling you I did it,
- 2:09:56this is how I did it. This is where I
- 2:09:57put the gun at. Right. This shows true
- 2:10:01story, false story.
- 2:10:04Uh I did that in courtroom and uh can
- 2:10:08folks still locked up been locked up 18
- 2:10:10years.
- 2:10:10>> Did they find the gun?
- 2:10:12>> I mean I can't say that they did or they
- 2:10:15didn't. I know I gave them the
- 2:10:16information, right, that you know this
- 2:10:18is the act exact location. And let me
- 2:10:21say this real quick. Giving them the
- 2:10:22information, you understand me? Don't
- 2:10:24let that get received the wrong way.
- 2:10:26This case is already in the books, you
- 2:10:29understand me? Wrapped up or whatever.
- 2:10:31This information is being shared to
- 2:10:33bring a man home. Information that I'm
- 2:10:35guilty of. This where I put the gun at.
- 2:10:38>> Why is he still locked up? Nebraska
- 2:10:40fighting. Yeah. They they don't the the
- 2:10:43the guy that really did it then got off.
- 2:10:46>> Yeah.
- 2:10:46>> They can't do nothing to me. So, what
- 2:10:49they want to just All right. No, they
- 2:10:51want to play tick for tack,
- 2:10:53>> right?
- 2:10:53>> All right. Well, we going to keep one of
- 2:10:55y'all then. And it's so crazy because I
- 2:10:57was in work release at the time when
- 2:10:59this happened. Uh,
- 2:11:02and he had a he had a hearing come up
- 2:11:05for his appeal proceedings and I
- 2:11:07attended his hearing and you know I let
- 2:11:10him know like hey I'm responsible for
- 2:11:12XYZ and you know this is that and this
- 2:11:15is that. I put it on the table. I ain't
- 2:11:17break no law.
- 2:11:20I ain't break no
- 2:11:22>> uh corrections department rules or
- 2:11:25anything.
- 2:11:27But after that court date, went back to
- 2:11:30work release, I didn't make it back to
- 2:11:32my bunk,
- 2:11:33>> right?
- 2:11:34>> They cuffed me up, sent me back to the
- 2:11:36joint. Maximum security. No write up, no
- 2:11:41law violation, no rule violation,
- 2:11:42nothing. It's just a retaliatory system,
- 2:11:46>> right? You know what I mean? Like you
- 2:11:48ain't you ain't going to beat us. And so
- 2:11:50you didn't you done scored some points
- 2:11:51where we going to score back. Yeah. So
- 2:11:54again, I got to say, man, the forefront
- 2:11:57of my story is that you got a man, my
- 2:12:00brother DB
- 2:12:02aka Tyrese Abram, my Ken Folk who is
- 2:12:06also my brother, Jamal Abram aka Sauce,
- 2:12:11uh DB has lost his life with the with
- 2:12:14the wrong label attached to it. And
- 2:12:17Sauce is innocent
- 2:12:21and the system know this. Yeah, they
- 2:12:23don't care.
- 2:12:26Yeah.
- 2:12:31Yeah. I got out uh October 21st
- 2:12:35uh 2021.
- 2:12:37Um
- 2:12:40and since coming home, man, I just been
- 2:12:42having my head down,
- 2:12:44head on the swivel at the same time. uh
- 2:12:47very ambitious, you know, trying to live
- 2:12:50up to my end of God having something
- 2:12:54great at the end of this journey. And
- 2:12:56throughout this journey, man, one of the
- 2:12:58greatest things I felt like, man, the
- 2:13:00story itself, I feel like he gave me
- 2:13:02something that I'm supposed to use
- 2:13:05in a way and put a spin on it, you know,
- 2:13:09for exposure. I'm sorry, but the
- 2:13:11exposure is needed is multi-beneficial.
- 2:13:14The exposure cures the situation, you
- 2:13:17know, brings uh justice um you know and
- 2:13:23and answers to a grieving family.
- 2:13:26Exposure also uh gives freedom to a guy
- 2:13:29that's wrongly incarcerated. But I think
- 2:13:32uh exposure can be something that's
- 2:13:35pivoted from that changes the trajectory
- 2:13:40of like a a generation at least. you
- 2:13:42know what I'm connected to and and as
- 2:13:45far as my reach go. Um
- 2:13:48so I've been sharing my story. I've done
- 2:13:50other podcasts and uh I just got to say
- 2:13:54that you know throughout sharing my
- 2:13:56story as I mentioned before man um it
- 2:14:00has caused sadness and grief to some
- 2:14:03people. Um, and I do still want to I'm
- 2:14:08still going to, you know, uh, advocate
- 2:14:11for my story, but I don't want to do so
- 2:14:13in a way, man, that causes pain and
- 2:14:16grief and hardship to others. Uh, so I'm
- 2:14:19I'm I'm doing my best, you know, to dial
- 2:14:22back from that, but I still encourage,
- 2:14:25you know, people to tap in. And, uh, one
- 2:14:28product they got to tap in with is the
- 2:14:30book series. Oh my god. Listen, I
- 2:14:35discovered the talent. I find the good
- 2:14:36in everything bad I go through. Uh
- 2:14:38throughout this situation, I would have
- 2:14:40never knew I was a hell of an author if
- 2:14:42I didn't go through this. Uh I am an
- 2:14:44amazing author.
- 2:14:46>> You don't say so yourself.
- 2:14:48>> Listen, it's not just because it's me.
- 2:14:51If you read it, if you tap into it, man,
- 2:14:53you going to experience every emotion
- 2:14:56you can think of. You're going to
- 2:14:58disappear from whatever room, whatever
- 2:15:01realm, whatever room you're in and you
- 2:15:03going to be tapped into my universe.
- 2:15:06Like for real. Uh uh but the series is
- 2:15:10called A Buck 30. That's the that's the
- 2:15:14uh main title all of them. A Buck 30,
- 2:15:16which is synonymous for the 130 years.
- 2:15:19Uh the first one is A Buck 30. The
- 2:15:22reason uh the reason I lost little bro.
- 2:15:25Uh the second one is a buck 30 the
- 2:15:29revenge
- 2:15:31self-explanatory.
- 2:15:32Uh the third book is a buck 30 the run.
- 2:15:37You know it's a lot that took place in
- 2:15:40that phase besides actually you know
- 2:15:42trying to stay low from uh police. Uh,
- 2:15:46the fourth one is actually done, man.
- 2:15:48But this in between phase I've been in
- 2:15:52of trying to move forward
- 2:15:55in a considerate manner, it got me on
- 2:15:58pause with it. Uh, for is done, but I
- 2:16:00haven't released it yet. Uh, it's a buck
- 2:16:0330 the rain and that's when I get
- 2:16:05caught. Everything go bad. you know, 130
- 2:16:08years and everything that came with
- 2:16:09that. People disappearing and you know,
- 2:16:12man, life got heavier. And the last book
- 2:16:15is a buck 30 the refund.
- 2:16:19Like, take that back. I didn't want it
- 2:16:22for real. You know what I mean? Uh, I
- 2:16:25got a I got a clothing line, Everybody
- 2:16:27Eat. Uh, that's my brand. My brand is
- 2:16:30Everybody Eat. Like my chain, Everybody
- 2:16:33Eat. Uh, I got a clothing line for that
- 2:16:36brand, but more so what it's for, man.
- 2:16:41It's I want I'm trying to create uh
- 2:16:44cooperative economics platform for my
- 2:16:48people, right? Just like I come from,
- 2:16:50man, from selling candy back in the day
- 2:16:52and selling, you know, legal stuff or
- 2:16:54whatever. We've always had the ability,
- 2:16:57you know, the drive, the the skill set
- 2:17:01to go get something that we didn't have
- 2:17:04and sell it to somebody that wanted it,
- 2:17:06>> right?
- 2:17:06>> And make a profit out of it. We just
- 2:17:09been applying that skill set to the
- 2:17:10wrong lifestyle. So my company is aimed
- 2:17:14to produce products and services that
- 2:17:17enables, you know, hustle-minded
- 2:17:19individuals to sell these products and
- 2:17:22services and make their commission like
- 2:17:25they did with
- 2:17:28the bad products. Do the same thing but
- 2:17:30in the legal way. Don't worry about the
- 2:17:31cops. Don't worry about robbery. Don't
- 2:17:33worry about, you know, prison or, you
- 2:17:35know, plotting or, you know, [ __ ] or
- 2:17:37thievery or or whatever. Let me let you
- 2:17:40be you.
- 2:17:41But what you selling can't put you in
- 2:17:44jail. That's what my, you know, my
- 2:17:47vision is. I want to work with the
- 2:17:48youth. You know, high school is where I
- 2:17:51veered off into the wrong path. I got a
- 2:17:53passion to tap in with them. And also
- 2:17:55for guys coming out of prison. I've
- 2:17:58encountered some hardships coming home.
- 2:18:01I had to, you know, jump through
- 2:18:02loopholes on find a crib and stuff like
- 2:18:05that that I know people go through the
- 2:18:07same kind of hurdles and if their
- 2:18:10mindset ain't right, them hurdles is
- 2:18:12going to be like walls that stop them,
- 2:18:15right?
- 2:18:15>> And I want to be able to enable them to
- 2:18:17get over it. Like I always tell people,
- 2:18:20I don't see hurdles. I see the air above
- 2:18:21them. You know what I mean? And I want
- 2:18:24to share that uh philosophy and
- 2:18:27resources and stories and energy. I want
- 2:18:30to shift to culture.
