- 0:00Before it.
- 0:01>> curious since your conversation with
- 0:02Tony Robbins, what's one if if you have
- 0:04one, what's one behavior that you've
- 0:05changed in your own life since that
- 0:08talk?
- 0:08>> I would say that the the big goal that I
- 0:10set at the end is something that I my
- 0:11behavior is already been aligned with
- 0:12for a long time.
- 0:14Um, but I
- 0:16thought three things that I think it was
- 0:18missing. So, one is that I have to have
- 0:21a way to measure it. Not saying, "Oh,
- 0:22100,000 guys or whatever." That's
- 0:24obvious, but more like uh how do you
- 0:25know you've succeeded? So, for example,
- 0:28with Tony's goal, he talks about feeding
- 0:29X amount of people, but he measures that
- 0:31in I have delivered this food. Very easy
- 0:33to quantify. Much more difficult for me
- 0:35to have a guy text me and say, "I now
- 0:38have $100,000 in my bank account." And
- 0:39so, I've been thinking through ways to
- 0:42have a feedback loop from that
- 0:43perspective. Now, obviously, school we
- 0:44can see people's revenue, so I do have a
- 0:46component of that that's there.
- 0:47That's one. The second was how can I um
- 0:51and I and I think I asked this on the on
- 0:53the pod and I and he gave some some
- 0:55answer around it, but was um how can I
- 0:57increase my emotional tie to the
- 0:59outcome? Right now, I have my my own
- 1:02history of like I remember going from
- 1:04zero to $100,000 and that being the most
- 1:05significant moment for me. I still to
- 1:07this day I've never felt richer than I
- 1:08did in that moment. Um and so, it's like
- 1:11I would like to deliver to deliver that
- 1:12moment for a lot of guys cuz I think
- 1:14that's, you know,
- 1:15good. Um
- 1:18but trying to machine that in a way and
- 1:20I I don't actually have an answer for
- 1:22this, but my my stated objective is that
- 1:25I would like to figure out more ways to
- 1:26drive an emotional connection to the
- 1:28outcome. Right? I mean, a handful of you
- 1:30guys have already come up today being
- 1:31like, "Hey, um you know,
- 1:34I'm in from Hungary
- 1:36um was like, 'Hey, uh I watched your
- 1:37stuff and it changed my life and I've
- 1:39now been able to make an income and it's
- 1:41like everything's awesome.' Um and
- 1:44I don't know how that mixes with the
- 1:46hedonic adaptation wheel. I don't know.
- 1:49He seems to be okay with it or he says
- 1:52he is. And that he feels every one of
- 1:54them. I don't know. I'm not inside of
- 1:55Tony.
- 1:56Um that sounded worse than I thought it
- 1:58did.
- 1:59>> What the [ __ ] is a hedonic adaptation
- 2:02curve?
- 2:02>> If you do anything like you get used to
- 2:04anything. You adapt.
- 2:05>> Okay. Okay.
- 2:06>> Yeah, a hedonist is like like like
- 2:08pleasure and if you do enough of a
- 2:09pleasurable thing eventually get used to
- 2:10it and stops being cool. If you have a
- 2:12five-star dinner once a month it's
- 2:13important. If you do it every night it
- 2:14stops being interesting. You adapt.
- 2:16>> I see. Okay. So getting bored kind of.
- 2:18>> Yeah.
- 2:18>> Yeah.
- 2:19>> Like the stimulus basically stops being
- 2:21>> Mhm.
- 2:21>> a big a big peak, right?
- 2:23>> Got it.
- 2:23>> So I don't know the answer to that one.
- 2:25But that's the second thing that I think
- 2:26was missing.
- 2:28And then the third and this is just
- 2:30something that I discovered with the
- 2:31launch is that I'm the most motivated
- 2:33and I don't really lack motivation, but
- 2:35the the thing where I feel like the
- 2:37whole team was motivated too was when
- 2:40there was big stakes.
- 2:42Right? So when everybody knew internally
- 2:44that we were trying to do a hundred
- 2:45million dollar launch and do it in the
- 2:46weekend and break the record there was
- 2:48just this very there's just this huge
- 2:50amount of energy towards that goal. Now
- 2:52you can't do that forever cuz you unlock
- 2:53discretionary effort past a certain
- 2:54point people do. experience burnout. And
- 2:56so it has to be waxes and wanes. You
- 2:57have to you know, ramp up and then kind
- 2:58of cool down for a minute. But I think
- 3:02if I'm trying to think about how I can
- 3:03how I can tie stakes to it. So the most
- 3:06tactically relevant one that's closest
- 3:07is like the measurable component and
- 3:08that's something that I'm working on.
- 3:10>> Real quick, I'm going to show you the
- 3:11exact 10 stage road map from zero to a
- 3:13hundred million plus that less than one
- 3:16percent of companies finish I've now
- 3:17done multiple times. And so I can say
- 3:19with a lot of confidence that these are
- 3:20the stages as head count increases that
- 3:22you need to get through and I broke each
- 3:25of these down by eight different
- 3:26functions of the business, what the
- 3:28constraint feels like, like what are the
- 3:29symptoms of it when you're going through
- 3:31it, and then what steps we actually took
- 3:32to graduate. And we've done this across
- 3:34software, physical products,
- 3:36service businesses, brick and mortar,
- 3:38all of this and it works. And it's my
- 3:40gift to you. It's absolutely free. And
- 3:42so the link's in the description, but
- 3:43you just go acquisition.com/roadmap,
- 3:45just enter your info and it'll spit it
- 3:47right back to you all free.
