I Tried It: How to make $2,000/mo clipping with AI — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00In this episode of I tried it, we're
- 0:01going to test this side hustle that
- 0:02claims that we can make $2,000 a month
- 0:04simply with clipping and AI. We're going
- 0:06to talk about the good, the bad, should
- 0:09you try it, how much you think I'm going
- 0:11to [music] make, um the entire process
- 0:12so that you can understand what really
- 0:14works and what doesn't work online. Now,
- 0:16one of the reasons why I want to make
- 0:18this video is because I've had a few
- 0:19people comment on a video that I made um
- 0:22about Warm [music] Lamp, whatever it's
- 0:24called, and why I don't think it's a
- 0:26really good opportunity.
- 0:27>> [music]
- 0:27>> So, let's go ahead and get into it.
- 0:29First of all, the video basically says
- 0:31by Cole Cochran um that you can make
- 0:33$2,000 a month with clipping and AI. He
- 0:37says that you're going to uh create a
- 0:38free account over on Warm Lamp, which is
- 0:40100% [music] free. Uh you're going to
- 0:42join a campaign and you can get paid
- 0:44out.
- 0:45And you're going to essentially just
- 0:47create content on different platforms
- 0:49using AI and you will magically get
- 0:52paid. It is really the gist of it. Uh he
- 0:54does go into a little bit of detail
- 0:56talking about how to do it where you
- 0:58have to submit a link and then a
- 1:00screenshot. You've got to follow all of
- 1:01these different steps, uh which is
- 1:03simple and fair enough. But, what I want
- 1:06to talk about is I want to talk about if
- 1:08this is really a good opportunity or if
- 1:10this is one of those schemes out there
- 1:12um that [music]
- 1:14isn't all it's cracked up to be. If you
- 1:16dig a little deeper, um and the reason
- 1:18why I like making these videos is
- 1:19because I've made a decent amount of
- 1:20money online and so I have a pretty good
- 1:23understanding of what works and what
- 1:25doesn't work and what's truth versus
- 1:27fiction. So, let's go ahead and talk
- 1:28about some of the problems. Uh we're
- 1:30also going to talk about some of the
- 1:31good things.
- 1:32Uh let's talk about the good things
- 1:34first because there are a few uh with
- 1:36this this YouTube video that you can
- 1:38take away. Uh the first one and and
- 1:41foremost, I think, is you learn video
- 1:43editing. One of the most important
- 1:45skills is video editing because we're
- 1:48all creating content. We're all content
- 1:50creators. Video editing is a skill that
- 1:52you can take with you
- 1:53regardless of what you do. It's a hard
- 1:55skill. It takes time, energy, effort, it
- 1:58takes consistency, it takes persistence.
- 2:00>> [music]
- 2:00>> And so, you can either teach other
- 2:02people how to become a video editor, or
- 2:05you [music] can actually sell that skill
- 2:06as a service. I have uh countless people
- 2:09reaching out to me via email and DM
- 2:11offering their services of video editor.
- 2:13Even with AI, I think there is still
- 2:16opportunity for
- 2:17old-school video editors to exist, and
- 2:20even to combine AI with video editing.
- 2:22And so, um that's one of the good things
- 2:25that you can take from this video.
- 2:27Another good one that I really like is
- 2:29you learn how to create and structure
- 2:31content. One of the things that he talks
- 2:33about is uh you have to learn how to
- 2:35create a hook, a story, and then a a
- 2:36payoff. [music]
- 2:37That's really important when it comes to
- 2:39creating content in 2026. You have to
- 2:43learn how to hold people's attention, um
- 2:46>> [music]
- 2:46>> and and captivate your audience. Because
- 2:48if you hold their attention, you have
- 2:50high high retention, it does increase
- 2:52the opportunity for videos to go viral
- 2:54and get views. And that's essentially
- 2:56what you need if you want this method
- 2:58and this process to work. You're going
- 2:59to have to go viral multiple times in
- 3:01order for it to happen, and that's
- 3:02something we'll talk about in just a
- 3:03minute. But, one of the good things that
- 3:06comes out of this video is he talks
- 3:07about what's required in order to be
- 3:11successful with short-form and long-form
- 3:13content. Another benefit to this method
- 3:16that he talks about is that there's an
- 3:17incredibly low barrier to entry. Um you
- 3:19can get started for free. You the the
- 3:22the software he talks about is called
- 3:24WeVideo. It does allow you to create
- 3:26like five videos uh for free. However,
- 3:29you're going to need much more than five
- 3:31videos in order [music] to be
- 3:34successful. Because later on in the
- 3:35video, he talks about you need to
- 3:37Actually, earlier on in the video, he
- 3:38talks about you need to upload six
- 3:41videos a day across three different
- 3:43platforms, so you're going to be
- 3:45uploading 18 videos. If you look at
- 3:47WeVideo,
- 3:48it says that you can start off The free
- 3:51plan allows you 200 credits, a one-time
- 3:55amount of 200 credits.
- 3:57Now, it doesn't say how many
- 4:00um it doesn't say how many videos 200
- 4:04credits will get you. I'm assuming
- 4:05probably five to 10.
- 4:08And so, you're you're going to need to
- 4:10start paying pretty quickly. Um it's
- 4:12only $4.99 a month if you pay annually,
- 4:15but if you do monthly, it's $13.99 a
- 4:16month. So, um a pro and con is you can
- 4:19get started relatively
- 4:20low barrier to entry,
- 4:22and you can start for free, but if
- 4:24you're going to upload essentially
- 4:26hundreds of videos per month, you're
- 4:28going to need to start paying pretty
- 4:29quickly.
- 4:30So, those are the the three main pros
- 4:33of um of the method that he talks about.
- 4:36Let's talk about the cons, and I believe
- 4:38that there are a number of problems that
- 4:41are just kind of glossed over or washed
- 4:42over in this video. First and foremost,
- 4:44[music]
- 4:45in order to make $2,000 a month,
- 4:47you need to generate um
- 4:50>> [music]
- 4:50>> you you need to generate 2 million
- 4:52qualified views, okay? Now, not every
- 4:55view is going to be considered a
- 4:56qualified view, and that's something
- 4:57that you've got to understand, okay? Um
- 5:01when it comes to this method,
- 5:03it really is up to Womp and the campaign
- 5:06creator if your views are qualified. So,
- 5:08you need to generate because it it's a
- 5:11$1 per 1,000 views, and this is one of
- 5:14the better
- 5:16one of the better opportunities that are
- 5:17out there. Some of them pay much lower
- 5:19per 1,000 view, um or they will pay
- 5:21higher, but there isn't as much money
- 5:24available, which we'll kind of talk
- 5:26about in just a moment. But, in order to
- 5:29in in order to be successful to make
- 5:30$2,000 with a $1 uh per 1,000 views RPM,
- 5:35you need [music] 2 million qualified
- 5:37views. That means you got to rely on
- 5:39going viral multiple times, [music]
- 5:41which is going to be a challenge. And at
- 5:42the time of this video,
- 5:44one of the things that he does say
- 5:45inside the video is he tells us to go to
- 5:48uh to search up What is it? Search up
- 5:51Jake Paul family ranch shorts, because
- 5:54that's the example that he used, because
- 5:55that Jake Paul family ranch was paying
- 5:57out um $1 for 1,000 views. The most
- 6:00viewed video has
- 6:02>> [music]
- 6:02>> 40,000 views. And if we did the math,
- 6:0440,000 views equals $40. And if we look
- 6:07at that account, and I'll put that on
- 6:09the screen so you guys can see it for
- 6:10yourself, um it's called Peak Time
- 6:12Clips. They have 41 videos up. Their
- 6:14most popular video that they have is
- 6:1647,000 views, and it's not even the same
- 6:20um it's not even that same Jake Paul
- 6:22campaign, okay? So, he's he has 1 2 3 4
- 6:262 maybe 6. [music]
- 6:28Um let's say he has 12 videos
- 6:31that have over 1,000 views. At most,
- 6:33that's 30,000 Let's say 50,000 views.
- 6:37Uh 500,000 views. Excuse me. Let's say
- 6:40he has a total of 500,000 views
- 6:43on this channel.
- 6:44That is a far cry from 2 million views,
- 6:47the number of views that he needs
- 6:49>> [music]
- 6:49>> in order to make $2,000 a month. Now,
- 6:52maybe he has multiple accounts out
- 6:54there. Maybe he has multiple TikTok
- 6:55[music] accounts, multiple YouTube
- 6:57accounts. You And And I'll talk about
- 6:59that in a minute, because one of the
- 7:00things that this original creator says
- 7:02is that you need to have multiple
- 7:04YouTube accounts, multiple TikTok
- 7:05accounts, and multiple Instagram
- 7:07accounts, because you're going to be
- 7:08posting
- 7:09on these different platforms.
- 7:11Um so, that in and of itself is a
- 7:14problem.
- 7:15There are a number of little things that
- 7:17that are gotchas. While we're talking
- 7:19about multiple accounts, I think this is
- 7:21a huge issue, because you can get
- 7:23dinged, you can get uh shadow banned,
- 7:25you can get throttled, uh you can get
- 7:27reduced views for [music] reused
- 7:29content. YouTube is big on not wanting
- 7:31people to reuse content. And that can
- 7:33happen a variety of ways. That can
- 7:35happen if you're uploading the same
- 7:37clips on multiple [music] accounts. That
- 7:38can happen if there are multiple people
- 7:40that are using that campaign, because
- 7:43when you do these campaigns on Womp,
- 7:45everyone is getting access to the same
- 7:47YouTube video. [music]
- 7:49Right? And so, what people are doing is
- 7:51they're going to take that same YouTube
- 7:52video, and they're going to chop it up.
- 7:54They're going to cut it up. And there's
- 7:55only so many ways that you can chop up
- 7:57and cut up these clips. And everyone's
- 7:59going to be using AI. Whether you're
- 8:01using [music] Opus Pro or Opus Clips, or
- 8:03you're using this Way in Video, there
- 8:04isn't a lot of leeway and flexibility.
- 8:07So, essentially,
- 8:09unless you add in [music] like
- 8:11like some sort of unique way to to make
- 8:13the video stand out, make it different
- 8:14from the other ones, you're going to be
- 8:16uploading the same clips as everyone
- 8:17else,
- 8:18which is going to get hit for reused
- 8:20content, and potentially get your
- 8:22account shut down. Then you've got to
- 8:24open up a new account, and [music] will
- 8:27Uh the other interesting thing is, what
- 8:29if you Let's say you have 100,000 views
- 8:31on one account, but it gets shut down.
- 8:33Is the campaign going to validate those
- 8:36100,000 views on the account that's no
- 8:38longer there? Probably not. [music] So,
- 8:40that's a problem. And then you're going
- 8:41to be competing against other people
- 8:43that are uploading very similar clips.
- 8:45YouTube is going to think Tik Tok and
- 8:47Instagram are going to think that's a
- 8:48problem. And so, there are a lot of
- 8:50little things that are red flags when it
- 8:52comes to creating this type of content,
- 8:54because you're going to be competing
- 8:56against yourself, you're going to be
- 8:56competing against other people.
- 8:58Another big one, for me anyway, is that
- 9:00you have no control. You don't control
- 9:03any of the platforms. You don't control
- 9:05Womp, you don't control the payouts, you
- 9:07don't control the campaigns.
- 9:08>> [music]
- 9:09>> And so, you are leaving this in the
- 9:11hands of other people that don't really
- 9:13care about your success, right? Um
- 9:17they care about getting seen. Jake Paul
- 9:19cares about getting seen and getting
- 9:20views, but he doesn't necessarily care
- 9:22who he pays it out to. And so, because
- 9:24you have no control,
- 9:25>> [music]
- 9:26>> you don't have any control on the
- 9:27campaign duration, you don't have any
- 9:29control on the available campaigns. And
- 9:31that's another issue with Womp, is that
- 9:33you might find a great campaign that's
- 9:35paying $2 for $5 per 1,000 views, but
- 9:38then the next 10 or 20 are only paying
- 9:40out 50 cents per 1,000 views or maybe
- 9:43even less.
- 9:44And so,
- 9:45finding constant warm campaigns is going
- 9:48to be a problem. And getting paid out
- 9:51consistently is going to be um
- 9:54is going to be a problem. Another issue
- 9:56that I found is old videos are going to
- 9:58still get views after the campaign ends.
- 10:00[music]
- 10:01And you might think that's a good thing,
- 10:03but you are going to be continuously
- 10:04building someone else's brand while you
- 10:07get paid in the short term. A video, for
- 10:09example, let's say let me give you a
- 10:11perfect example.
- 10:12This video, I'm making it on Monday,
- 10:14August 17th,
- 10:15uh 2026. I want you to comment, if
- 10:17you're still watching, comment the date
- 10:19and time that you're watching this
- 10:20video. I'm going to still get paid for
- 10:22this video. Me directly, I'm going to
- 10:24get paid for this video.
- 10:26Regardless of when you watch it.
- 10:27However, if you're uploading someone
- 10:29else's clips
- 10:31and you're not a part of the YouTube
- 10:32Partner Program because you're using
- 10:33reused content, you're using someone
- 10:35else's content, you're not making any
- 10:37money off of these clips.
- 10:38>> [music]
- 10:38>> And so, unless you decide to delete the
- 10:40clips after the campaign ends, you're
- 10:42going to continuously build someone
- 10:43else's brand and you're not getting
- 10:45anything [music] to show for it. Um and
- 10:47that
- 10:48gives me that leads me to the next
- 10:49point. You're building Jake Paul's
- 10:50brand.
- 10:52You're doing all the work for him.
- 10:53And I think that's [music] a problem
- 10:54because if your account gets shut down
- 10:56tomorrow for reused content or copyright
- 10:59strikes, whatever it might be,
- 11:01you're going to have to start over from
- 11:02zero. However,
- 11:04if you are creating your own thing, you
- 11:06have your own content, your own
- 11:07products, your own services, you can
- 11:08send an email out to your audience and
- 11:10say, "I got my account shut down, but
- 11:11I'm over here now."
- 11:13And so,
- 11:14>> [music]
- 11:14>> the most powerful thing that you can do
- 11:16is build your own brand in 2026. Jake
- 11:18Paul knows that. That's why he's paying
- 11:20people pennies, [music] literal pennies,
- 11:22to um
- 11:25dollars
- 11:25>> [music]
- 11:26>> to get in front of more people so that
- 11:28he can continue to accelerate his brand.
- 11:30If you understand that,
- 11:32then can be successful on the internet.
- 11:33[music]
- 11:35Hire people to accelerate your brand and
- 11:37not be the person that is being hired.
- 11:38You're essentially a glorified employee
- 11:41that has a less
- 11:43um
- 11:44that
- 11:44that has less um leeway, stakes, [music]
- 11:47involvement. Um you can be discarded at
- 11:50any point. Anyway, so we're talking
- 11:52about reuse content.
- 11:53>> [music]
- 11:53>> Um
- 11:54multiple people clipping the same video,
- 11:57that's a huge problem because you're
- 11:58going to get hit with reuse content
- 11:59eventually.
- 12:01Um repetitive posting, you're going to
- 12:03have to post at least six times per day
- 12:05across three different plat- platforms.
- 12:07That's going to take up a lot of your
- 12:08time.
- 12:09Right? Uh and you might think, "Okay,
- 12:11I'll still do it. It doesn't really take
- 12:13that long." But if you are
- 12:16creating the clips with with Way and
- 12:18Video, and then you still have to go
- 12:19back and edit them, that's the other
- 12:20thing that he doesn't necessarily talk
- 12:22about in this video. You have to still
- 12:23edit these videos because what he does
- 12:26um is he gets a clip from from Way and
- 12:29Video, he takes the payoff, and he puts
- 12:32[music] it at the beginning to create
- 12:34entry, and then he's adding in captions,
- 12:36and then he's adding in a title. So,
- 12:38it's still going to require some time
- 12:40for you to edit these videos. Yes, he
- 12:42uses AI to help accelerate it, but AI
- 12:45doesn't do all of it for you.
- 12:47And so um you're going to have multiple
- 12:50people, hundreds, maybe thousands of
- 12:51people
- 12:53editing the same clips. And I don't know
- 12:54if you can even see
- 12:56how many people are inside of a
- 12:58campaign. I'm going to click on Play
- 13:00Earn Support. Um available on Discord.
- 13:03There's 947 people. That's another
- 13:05issue.
- 13:06I'm clicking on this $20,000 in
- 13:08campaigns. There's 947 people that are
- 13:12in this campaign.
- 13:14So far, the campaign has paid out $2,752
- 13:17out of $3,000. How much money is each
- 13:20person making on average?
- 13:22Uh if we just did the math there
- 13:24um 27 What did I say? 27
- 13:2852 / 947
- 13:32947
- 13:34On average, each person is making $2.91.
- 13:38Now, I assume obviously some of them are
- 13:40making much more
- 13:43um than that and many many many more
- 13:46aren't making any. But, on average,
- 13:48$2.90 is a far cry from getting paid a
- 13:51thousand per 1,000 views.
- 13:53Uh $1 per 1,000 views. I multi- Well,
- 13:56equipment the same video, repetitive
- 13:57posting.
- 13:59Uh and I mentioned this before, accounts
- 14:00can be restricted, demonetized, or shut
- 14:03down completely. So, let's say for
- 14:05whatever reason you get monetized by the
- 14:07YouTube Partner Program, they see that
- 14:08you are uploading the exact same clips
- 14:10as somebody else.
- 14:12They're going to shut you down for
- 14:13reused content. You're no longer
- 14:15eligible for the YouTube Partner
- 14:16Program. And once you get kicked out of
- 14:17that program, it's going to be really
- 14:18hard to get back in.
- 14:21And one other thing
- 14:23that I'm I'm really curious about when
- 14:25it comes to this, uh it it skipped my
- 14:27mind, but I'll come back to it. Um
- 14:30when I looked at
- 14:32the account creator, the video the
- 14:33person that made this video, it said
- 14:34that they had made $3.82.
- 14:37He doesn't ever show proof that he has
- 14:38made um
- 14:40$2,000 with this opportunity. So, he's
- 14:43probably got what, 3,000 views?
- 14:464,000 views from doing this and he's
- 14:48gotten paid $3.82. [music]
- 14:50Another big problem is that you are
- 14:52constantly relying on virality. Getting
- 14:55paid 2 million qualified views is
- 14:58difficult. It's hard. Most people
- 14:59[music] can't do that or can't do it
- 15:01consistently just to make $2,000 per
- 15:04[music] month.
- 15:05Um
- 15:07and when do you actually get paid?
- 15:09That's another issue that I would have
- 15:11with Womp.
- 15:12If I sell my own digital products and
- 15:14services, I get paid every Friday.
- 15:17Or I can get paid out sooner if I want
- 15:18to.
- 15:19But, when do you get paid? When does the
- 15:22campaign end? Does the campaign ever
- 15:24end? Is there a minimum threshold,
- 15:26minimum payout that you've got to reach
- 15:27before
- 15:28uh people will start [music] paying out?
- 15:30But, in my opinion, and and again, we're
- 15:32going to talk about this more when I
- 15:34actually uh go through this for 30 days,
- 15:37I think there are a lot of red flags.
- 15:38There are more opportunities, and I'll
- 15:40talk about those opportunities on the
- 15:42what when I make a follow-up video.
- 15:44But, I think there are more and better
- 15:45opportunities to make money if you're
- 15:47going to upload short-format content.
- 15:50>> [music]
- 15:50>> I think that
- 15:52you're going to spend a lot of time
- 15:54trying to get to this this metric. And
- 15:58when I make my video, um
- 16:00my follow-up video, I'm going to show
- 16:01you the exact campaign. [music] I'm
- 16:03going to show you the videos that I
- 16:04created. I'm going to show you the
- 16:05videos that I've uploaded to so you can
- 16:07see behind the scenes of someone that's
- 16:08actually done it. And again, the reason
- 16:10why I'm doing this is because I've made
- 16:12a decent amount of money online, and I
- 16:13know what works and I know what doesn't
- 16:15work. I think this is a really tough
- 16:16sell. Oh, what I wanted to say.
- 16:19This is
- 16:20back day, maybe four or five years ago,
- 16:23and I would have and I made videos on
- 16:24this.
- 16:26What people used to do is they used
- 16:28[music] to run ads.
- 16:32It You could go to a website and watch
- 16:35videos
- 16:37and get paid from the ads. This is kind
- 16:40of that same thing, and I think that
- 16:41this loophole is going to get closed.
- 16:44This is a one of those loopholes that is
- 16:46kind of a violation of YouTube's terms
- 16:49of service because essentially you're
- 16:52taking a video, a for-long format video,
- 16:54and you're paying people [music]
- 16:56to chop it up and push it out.
- 16:59I don't think YouTube is
- 17:00>> [music]
- 17:00>> entirely thrilled with that.
- 17:02Also,
- 17:03um
- 17:04this content creator doesn't disclose
- 17:06that you could be sued by the FTC
- 17:08because you're being paid [music]
- 17:10to create content. Another huge issue
- 17:13that uh get got overlooked. What
- 17:16Let me know what you think. Do you think
- 17:17I'm going to make money? I'm going to do
- 17:18this for 30 days. Uh I'm going to walk
- 17:20you through my entire process
- 17:22of getting [music]
- 17:23uh finding a campaign,
- 17:25getting started, uploading videos. I'll
- 17:27let you even see [music]
- 17:28I'll try and schedule the the the posts
- 17:30out so that you can see it for yourself.
- 17:32And even then you can't really do that
- 17:34because you've got a screenshot and send
- 17:36it over to um
- 17:38the campaign owner. But, I'll let you
- 17:40see inside the entire process. Let me
- 17:41know what you think. I personally think
- 17:43that I will not [music] make $2,000 a
- 17:45month. I think I will struggle to make
- 17:47any money because of all of the smaller
- 17:50problems,
- 17:52um
- 17:52>> [music]
- 17:52>> the competition that's there. Like I
- 17:54mentioned, there's 947 people that are
- 17:56inside of this campaign
- 17:58that are also trying to vie for the the
- 18:01pot.
- 18:02And then, you know, what happens like I
- 18:03said when this campaign ends? [music]
- 18:05Your videos are still going to be up
- 18:07promoting building someone else's brand,
- 18:09and you have no recourse. Let me know
- 18:11what you think in the comment section
- 18:12below. Thanks for watching, and we'll
- 18:13see you in the next video.
