- 0:00But what are you talking
- 0:02[laughter]
- 0:08flag?
- 0:09>> Because I know we have such a much
- 0:11better braking performance. So you
- 0:13finally can be fast going to
- 0:15>> because I'm your passenger.
- 0:17>> Yes, [laughter] she's learning.
- 0:19>> Yeah, she she does. She does.
- 0:20>> Yeah, since I drove the photo car, of
- 0:22course.
- 0:23>> Anyway, hello everyone. Welcome to a
- 0:25very exciting video. We have traded the
- 0:27nervous crane to a very iconic
- 0:29historical place namely Meepen where
- 0:33there has been an announcement filmed of
- 0:35Max Stapen participating 24 hours of
- 0:37Nervokine could have done the Nervokine
- 0:40but they chose this particular place. So
- 0:42anyway more on a serious note today we
- 0:44are at the European launch of Huer Track
- 0:47Attack Pro Semi Slick. Very exciting
- 0:50moment. My number one US audience of
- 0:53course requires no introduction to this
- 0:55particular tire brand, but it is a big
- 0:57thing in Europe. And today we will be
- 1:01trying out the tire, comparing it also
- 1:04to the competitors, which I really
- 1:07appreciate and like because of course uh
- 1:09you want to see whether it is better or
- 1:12worse than its main competitors.
- 1:14According to Hooser, the main
- 1:16competitors are Nankang CRS, uh,
- 1:18Yokohama AO52 and believe it or not,
- 1:22actually Trofeo RS and Cup 2 R tires.
- 1:26Now, we will have a number of exercises
- 1:29and vehicles today to compare such as
- 1:31slalom, the actual track driving, street
- 1:33driving, etc. So, right now we have the
- 1:37Honda Civic Type R FL5. So we have of
- 1:41course the hooers track pro and then
- 1:44competitor and in this case we have
- 1:47Nankang CRS
- 1:50tire over there we have G series BMWs
- 1:53that we will be comparing against COP 2
- 1:56R. Let me get out of the wind and sit
- 1:58here. Now Huier is actually a race tire
- 2:03manufacturer in the first place. So they
- 2:05don't really do any road tires except
- 2:08from the fact that they have road
- 2:10approval. So this is cool. They have
- 2:12race tire compound. And as of today,
- 2:16lots of tires are actually good and
- 2:19great in their own way. But the major
- 2:23feature or USP that I am in particular
- 2:25interested in is actually the feather
- 2:28light construction. their tire depending
- 2:30on the size can be between five up to 30
- 2:34plus percent lighter than a competitor.
- 2:37Now that's insane. On average like you
- 2:39are 1 kilo lighter. To put it into
- 2:42perspective, Porsche drivers spend tens
- 2:46of thousands of euros to get magnesium
- 2:48wheels to or even carbon ceramic brakes
- 2:52to reduce the rotational mass because
- 2:54people who drive the track, they know
- 2:56that this is the best way to improve
- 2:59your handling, braking, cornering, you
- 3:01name it. So, if you can cut 1 kilo per
- 3:06corner of your rotational mass, I think
- 3:10even if the tire is maybe not that
- 3:13sticky, you're still going to win
- 3:15significantly in lap time performance,
- 3:18but I'm sure the compound is good. In
- 3:20the end, it's going to be more
- 3:22interesting for me later through the
- 3:24season. And hopefully I'm going to get a
- 3:25tire for one of my cars and run it
- 3:28through number of track days, see how it
- 3:31performs in heat cycles, see how it
- 3:33performs in longevity. [sighs] It would
- 3:36be unfair to do wet performance because
- 3:38it's semi slick. But anyway, without any
- 3:40further ado, let's um yeah, let's start
- 3:43with our first comparison, which is the
- 3:45I believe autocross with the type in
- 3:48[snorts] FO5 and
- 3:50>> showing his natural
- 3:51>> also that person over there.
- 3:56>> All right, so our first outing, we are
- 3:59now in the F5 that's equipped with uh
- 4:03CRS tires. Of course, everything is
- 4:06cold. Okay, let's go.
- 4:09>> Cold tires. CRS. Let's try.
- 4:31>> What the is he doing? [laughter]
- 4:33>> Okay.
- 4:33>> Did I hit the cone or something?
- 4:34>> I think not. I'm not sure. Maybe you
- 4:36did.
- 4:37>> One, two, three, start.
- 4:55>> Please don't crush into the other.
- 4:57>> Total 1 kilome 3 minutes.
- 5:00>> 1831. Yeah. Okay. Not too bad. So
- 5:03roughly 1831 with the CRS's. For the
- 5:07sake of honesty of this review,
- 5:10we have to see that uh our car is
- 5:14actually on empty fuel tank
- 5:17>> and the other one was full tank of F5
- 5:20probably like 45 50 L on the back a bit
- 5:23missing. So
- 5:26all right and the other thing but I
- 5:29trust them that it's good because we
- 5:30asked them about the tire pressures.
- 5:31They said they just said to manufacturer
- 5:34specifications.
- 5:36Uh but yeah, we didn't we didn't check
- 5:39them. So, can we check it here?
- 5:41Actually, even
- 5:42>> I don't know.
- 5:43>> I I don't know this car.
- 5:45>> Yeah.
- 5:46>> So, first try.
- 5:47>> Yeah.
- 5:56H
- 6:08It does feel more uh reactive
- 6:12>> on the on the sidewall. So that I'm
- 6:14going to give it to them. So 100%.
- 6:17>> Okay. Let's let
- 6:19>> Yeah, you can time it.
- 6:20>> One, two, three, go.
- 6:23>> Okay. No wheel spin.
- 6:25>> Yes.
- 6:40Yeah, we're faster.
- 6:42>> 17.5. Yeah. One thing to mention, I
- 6:46downshifted to first gear, which I
- 6:48wasn't doing before.
- 6:49>> Yeah.
- 6:50>> And we of course also didn't
- 6:52>> No, don't do that in this flip.
- 6:54>> Try to stay in the second. And we didn't
- 6:56have wheel spin. So, I mean, off the
- 6:58starting line, acceleration was good.
- 7:01>> So, let's uh try again.
- 7:03>> 3 2 1 go.
- 7:12>> Stay in second.
- 7:13>> Ah, I missed it.
- 7:16>> I'll try it again because I
- 7:18>> You distracted me. I was supposed to do
- 7:20it. I'm like, what? What were you
- 7:21talking?
- 7:23[laughter]
- 7:24Oops.
- 7:25>> 1954.
- 7:30[laughter]
- 7:31And you stole it.
- 7:37>> Oops. [laughter and gasps]
- 7:38>> Is it broken?
- 7:39>> No.
- 7:40>> All right, let me try again. And
- 7:42[laughter] shut the up.
- 7:45>> But it makes more fun if you don't
- 7:47[laughter] do it.
- 7:50>> All right. Ready?
- 7:51>> Okay. Three, two, one, go.
- 8:13>> Yeah. Seven. It was 18. I stopped a
- 8:16little bit before.
- 8:17>> Okay. Well, we're like half a second
- 8:21fasterish. All right, first impressions.
- 8:23Track Attack Pro felt definitely more
- 8:27agile. Probably because of the weight,
- 8:29but as mentioned also, we need to have
- 8:32honest comparison. First of all, this
- 8:34car had empty tank. The other one we
- 8:37have here massive wheel spacers and here
- 8:40not and a full tank. And again, we we
- 8:44also don't know the tire pressures for a
- 8:46completely honest comparison, but
- 8:49felt good. For the sake of honest
- 8:51comparison, let's try the other track.
- 8:53Is this free?
- 8:54>> Yes.
- 8:55>> Yeah. I'll try that one cuz it doesn't
- 8:56have spacers.
- 8:57>> Yes, exactly.
- 8:58>> I don't feel a big difference.
- 8:59>> No.
- 9:00>> No, I don't think so.
- 9:01>> But I don't I don't feel it.
- 9:03>> Okay.
- 9:04>> It has a lot of
- 9:05>> Okay, we give it a go.
- 9:07>> Okay. So, now we're in the white car.
- 9:09Track Attack Pros one/ird of the tank
- 9:12and no wheel spacers.
- 9:14>> Okay. Three, two, one, start.
- 9:36>> 17.7.
- 9:37>> So actually same. Yeah,
- 9:39>> but it was your first try with that car.
- 9:41So you
- 9:41>> do I feel difference between spacers and
- 9:43no spacers?
- 9:45I would say not really.
- 9:47>> To be honest, we have definitely to say
- 9:49it's not worse than the Nankan.
- 9:52I think it's definitely a thing I could
- 9:54say.
- 9:54>> I I think it's better like at least on
- 9:57this particular yen with all the factors
- 9:59combined.
- 10:01>> Um I'm happy. I whether it's better I
- 10:04think lap times prove it. It's
- 10:06definitely not worse. It felt for me
- 10:08easier to control. Uh that's the main
- 10:10thing. Grip levels might be identical,
- 10:12but the agility and reaction was
- 10:15definitely better. So, and I don't think
- 10:18that
- 10:2030 kilos of fuel would make that big of
- 10:23a difference. Um so, yeah, I would want
- 10:26to know what the weight difference is of
- 10:28the CRS versus uh Track Attack Pro, but
- 10:31uh yeah, it's there. All righty. On to
- 10:33the next comparison. is one is called
- 10:37break and avoid. So we have G82 M4. We
- 10:43have one the competitor. We have the cup
- 10:46to R star. So homologated tire for BMW
- 10:51specifically. We can double check the
- 10:53sizes but yeah 275 3519
- 10:56and then on the rear we have 285 3020.
- 11:03Um, as per previous test, we have half a
- 11:07tank on it. And then on this car, just
- 11:11to do a little comparison, we have
- 11:15slightly less fuel, but that difference
- 11:20it's very negligible
- 11:23like Yeah. 275 351 19 and then I guess
- 11:28285
- 11:29in the 20 where we have yeah there we
- 11:33go. So all identical sizes.
- 11:37This also seems to be well it's been
- 11:41used by the previous group. So that's
- 11:43good equal comparison and as well as for
- 11:46the cup to R. Yeah. Plenty of tread life
- 11:51on it. So yeah. What are your
- 11:53expectations?
- 11:54>> Uh
- 11:55>> no drifting.
- 11:56>> No drifting. No high expectations. So
- 11:58we're comparing a tire to the cup to
- 11:59ours. The expectation needs to be high.
- 12:01It's it's honestly
- 12:02>> they're pulling themselves.
- 12:04>> I Yeah, I I got to say I got to give it
- 12:06to Huier. Like it's it takes proper
- 12:08balls to put yourself to against what is
- 12:11considered as the ultimate tire.
- 12:14However, now we have the Trofeo RS that
- 12:16a lot of people are switching especially
- 12:18on Porsches from Cup2RS. But yeah, if
- 12:20you can be better than Cup2R
- 12:23while being more affordable,
- 12:26>> if you can be on the level of Cup 2.
- 12:28>> Yeah. And being more affordable. and
- 12:30being more affordable. Yes, if they
- 12:32don't die after eight laps.
- 12:34>> Oh, also that perfect. Yeah, and that's
- 12:36something that we don't get to see today
- 12:38unless they allow us to do some
- 12:39burnouts. Actually, someone did some
- 12:40rolling burnouts, but yeah. Anyway, I
- 12:43guess we'll do the same thing a couple
- 12:44of runs and see where we stand where we
- 12:47are. One thing that Andre noticed is
- 12:50that the Cup 2 equipped is actually the
- 12:54better spec, so to say. proper
- 12:55competition wheels, the 666 or something
- 12:58they call them, I think, and carbon
- 13:00buckets. So, definitely less weight on
- 13:03this one, even though this one currently
- 13:05might have more fuel. And this you have
- 13:07a bit Yeah, different wheel and also
- 13:12heavier buckets. So, technically the Cup
- 13:152R equipped car might be even actually
- 13:18better. It definitely has the M
- 13:20performance stickers. So that counts for
- 13:23I would say 20 more horsepower. So yeah,
- 13:25if track attack equipped car is going to
- 13:27be better performing is definitely all
- 13:29the tires. All right. So the exercise is
- 13:31we eat accelerate to up to between 80 to
- 13:34100 km/h. Then once we're at the cones,
- 13:37we go on the brake and turn into the
- 13:38left and come to complete stop. The main
- 13:41purpose of this exercise so to say or to
- 13:44comparison is to see how the tire
- 13:47performs in ABS, hard braking and
- 13:50avoidance or trail braing for that
- 13:53matter. So let's go. Uh,
- 13:55>> of course everything is turned off.
- 13:57>> Yeah, we have everything turned off. You
- 13:59can prove it. But yeah, DC is off
- 14:02>> and it's zero uh DCSC off. So
- 14:04>> yeah, brake is on uh
- 14:07the brake is on sport. Everything else
- 14:08is no brake is on comfort. Everything is
- 14:10sport plus. I prefer brake on comfort
- 14:12because of better brake modulation. But
- 14:14anyway, uh
- 14:23well
- 14:26I think cup to a bit warming up still
- 14:28first.
- 14:28>> Yeah, maybe
- 14:30>> we'll try again. But I also need to
- 14:32>> but my seat moved in yours also. No,
- 14:35>> my seat moved in front.
- 14:38What?
- 14:38>> Uh, your seat moved because of the
- 14:41emergency braking for the optimal
- 14:43braking pos for the impact. Okay.
- 14:46>> So, if you're going to complain about my
- 14:49driving position, BMW thinks I'm safe
- 14:51enough. [laughter] Unlike you, beginner
- 14:54driver.
- 15:05[laughter] And again, my seat moved in
- 15:07the front.
- 15:07>> Yeah,
- 15:08>> I don't know if it was I guess it was
- 15:10better. I mean, the the tires are warmer
- 15:12for sure.
- 15:13>> Definitely better.
- 15:13>> Tires are warmer. Plus, I know better
- 15:15what I'm doing.
- 15:18>> But let's see what it does.
- 15:22The big thing of course also
- 15:24it's not a light car. So to be able to
- 15:29maneuver under heavy braking
- 15:34that's a big thing. So
- 15:41[laughter]
- 15:42the
- 15:45>> What's that land? Uh, no.
- 15:49>> I had it like on launch control because
- 15:51I put the foot on the brake and it
- 15:53upshifted directly to second gear and
- 15:55then it [clears throat] accelerated and
- 15:57then it lost traction in the third
- 15:59actually.
- 16:00>> Yes.
- 16:00>> So,
- 16:01>> Oh, when it put it in the third or was
- 16:03it? Yeah. When it Okay.
- 16:13Oh, that was a long
- 16:15>> Yeah, it was full in ABS. So, I tried to
- 16:17see how it would perform while being
- 16:20full on the brakes and ABS. So, it's not
- 16:25bad. It's what you would expect from
- 16:27emergency braking, I guess. But yeah,
- 16:29now the main
- 16:30>> question will be with the trigger attack
- 16:34pro. Oh, okay. We are now in the car
- 16:37with Track Attack Pro.
- 16:40Earlier in the introduction, I showed
- 16:42you that the car should not have the
- 16:43bucket seats, the carbon bucket seats,
- 16:45but there are two cars with track pro.
- 16:48So, this one has it. It's the one that
- 16:50was actually getting new tires [music]
- 16:51while we were filming the intro.
- 16:53[snorts] Uh, we can show you the outside
- 16:55footage later as well, but the main
- 16:57thing is that I'm going to adjust our
- 17:00position. Yeah. So we go brake and
- 17:03comfort. Everything is sport plus
- 17:06manual gearbox. All right. So we going
- 17:09to try to do the normal one first and
- 17:11later I will do the launch control to
- 17:13see what the car will do. So off we go.
- 17:15>> Okay. Let's go.
- 17:24>> H.
- 17:27>> Okay. It was the first try. Let's see
- 17:29again. The noise was interesting.
- 17:32>> Yeah.
- 17:33>> But they said that someone previously
- 17:35had actually possibly
- 17:38um what you call it dented the wheel of
- 17:40this particular car. So maybe it's a bit
- 17:43out of the alignment, but acceleration
- 17:46felt good. The steering felt also
- 17:50lighter. Again, probably or most likely
- 17:52due to the lighter weight of the tires.
- 17:55And performance was still good from what
- 17:58I could tell.
- 18:01The braking feel longer.
- 18:02>> Longer? Yeah, because they're probably
- 18:04colder.
- 18:05>> Maybe it was also Yeah. And maybe it was
- 18:06also a bit faster.
- 18:08>> I was definitely faster because the car
- 18:10didn't lose traction. It kept on going.
- 18:12>> Why would you do stupid stuff like that?
- 18:14>> What the?
- 18:16>> We tried the launch control.
- 18:27>> No sidewave action. Yeah, you could feel
- 18:29>> it didn't lose it. It wanted but it
- 18:32didn't.
- 18:32>> Yeah, you could really feel that it
- 18:34wanted to lose it.
- 18:36>> I liked it. Yeah. Okay. The grip is
- 18:39definitely uh the agility feels better
- 18:43and the grip because the car doesn't
- 18:45lose traction feels also better. All
- 18:47right. We try now again without the
- 18:49launch control.
- 19:00Did we hit the cone?
- 19:01>> He's running, I think. Yes.
- 19:03>> No.
- 19:04>> Yeah. Yeah. The last one. Yeah. I also
- 19:06thought that you was hitting that one.
- 19:08>> Okay.
- 19:08>> Yeah. But it was okay. Not that far away
- 19:11>> cuz I was just like enjoying maximum
- 19:13acceleration because that was like way
- 19:15beyond the speeds I was doing with the
- 19:17other car. So, let's try to tone it
- 19:20down.
- 19:20>> Last one.
- 19:33>> Good. I like it.
- 19:36>> So, I'm looking forward to test them
- 19:37now.
- 19:38>> Yeah, you do now. Okay. Track Attack
- 19:40Pro. Different car. Same vibes. So now
- 19:45you can see
- 19:46>> how the seat goes in front when Misha's
- 19:48braking.
- 19:57>> It definitely distracted you. [laughter]
- 20:00>> But
- 20:02I mean I was I was significantly faster
- 20:05now cuz we had launch control. It didn't
- 20:08lose much traction
- 20:11uh on the turn in sorry on the
- 20:14acceleration with gear shifting
- 20:17and no it's it's good. Okay, now we'll
- 20:20do without launch control just to try it
- 20:24out. But in general, like really the
- 20:27braking, the hard braking and then
- 20:29regaining of the turn and whether it's
- 20:32under still under ABS or not, I'm
- 20:35impressed. Like there is uh usually like
- 20:38it should go just straight. It should
- 20:40under steer straight into the wall. So I
- 20:43think if anything, it's a very
- 20:45impressive tire.
- 20:53So, the breaking point was with 95 now.
- 20:56>> Yeah. Yeah.
- 20:58>> And I didn't go full on the brakes
- 21:00because I wanted more to avoid anyway.
- 21:08[music]
- 21:13>> That was stupid launch control. was.
- 21:15>> Yeah,
- 21:17>> that was too uh too much lounge control.
- 21:19>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway,
- 21:24[music]
- 21:34I think you can really see how the
- 21:36G-forces are in that car with my my
- 21:39GeForce measuring [laughter] system.
- 21:42>> Yeah. All right. Happy.
- 21:44>> Nice.
- 21:45>> Yeah.
- 21:46>> But now I think it's lunch time or
- 21:48>> would be nice.
- 21:48>> That was fun. But now we proceed to the
- 21:52most fun part of any kind of press event
- 21:56and that's food cuz the way to buy
- 21:59journalists independent opinion is
- 22:02through the stomach. So let's see uh
- 22:05what who's here has come up with it. And
- 22:07we're going to have proper American
- 22:08brisket. Oh, it's actually more German
- 22:10probably.
- 22:11Nice. Well, I'm up with that.
- 22:16Oh, all right. Well, we have something
- 22:18American. There we go. How many cameras
- 22:20do we need?
- 22:22>> 300.
- 22:23>> I'm very hungry.
- 22:25>> I'm very hungry.
- 22:26>> Yes.
- 22:28>> How the burger stand?
- 22:30>> Good. Did you use the Mississippi sauce?
- 22:32>> Yeah,
- 22:32>> I did. Looking forward to try it. And of
- 22:35course, as a proper Dutch guy,
- 22:37mayonnaise.
- 22:41Fast forward and I got to say this is
- 22:43definitely one of the better burgers
- 22:44that I have tasted. And having said
- 22:46that,
- 22:49>> this may influence my opinion of the
- 22:51tire from here on to a better way. No,
- 22:55jokes aside, uh it's an actual
- 22:57journalistic event. No one is being
- 22:59paid. Actually, we had to pay our own
- 23:01travel costs here. So it's
- 23:04honest opinion and you know my longl
- 23:06lasting relationship with Nankang and
- 23:09also how I do genuinely appreciate
- 23:11Capuart tires. So here we are but I'm
- 23:15sure both of them are working on
- 23:18something here as an answer but then
- 23:21maybe is going to bring out the track
- 23:23attack race.
- 23:26Going to be interesting to get that
- 23:28homologated in Europe.
- 23:30Track day only.
- 23:34>> Yep. Batties are next level. After a
- 23:37fantastic lunch, it's time to actually
- 23:40hit the racetrack and we'll be following
- 23:43our beloved instructor. Yeah. We
- 23:45actually go way back like 10 15 years
- 23:47ago.
- 23:48>> Yeah. We've done like you boosted Boris
- 23:50times.
- 23:50>> Oh yeah. Remember? And awesome.
- 23:52>> Wow. Long time ago.
- 23:55>> Yeah. So, he has unfair advantage. He's
- 23:57going to be in a E36 M3 on Huier um
- 24:02autocross tires. We have a C43
- 24:06AMG electric power. We definitely like
- 24:09all of that. Um a G series and then
- 24:12finally Lotus Amir. All of them are on
- 24:15track attack which is great but also we
- 24:19cannot compare. And also since I don't
- 24:22know the track, I don't know if it's
- 24:24going to be great. fantastic my blowing
- 24:26or whatsoever. What is interesting in
- 24:28this particular case is uh we just had
- 24:31lunch as you knew as you know and
- 24:33[snorts] the tires are very low
- 24:37actually. So, we'll be interesting how
- 24:38long it's going how it is going to
- 24:40perform in a deflated state. How long
- 24:42it's going to take time to actually get
- 24:45up to pressure and yeah, how it's going
- 24:47to handle among quite heavy car, sporty
- 24:51car, and the lightest of them all, but
- 24:54probably the slowest shifting of them
- 24:56all. Not as slow as Vika, but uh yeah,
- 24:58that's something else. All right.
- 24:59[snorts] Uh let's up in do a couple of
- 25:02laps, see what's all about. Can see the
- 25:04tire pressure. One and a half bar.
- 25:06That's what it is usually.
- 25:30Green flag. Green flag.
- 25:45That's another course like I knew it.
- 25:50I need bucket seats.
- 25:52>> Oh, and warm tires or a bit of tire
- 25:57pressure would be good.
- 26:08Why? [laughter]
- 26:09>> What are you doing?
- 26:10>> Nothing.
- 26:46Okay.
- 26:50Come on.
- 27:17Heat. Heat.
- 27:35out.
- 27:39>> I'm going in. Yeah.
- 27:44>> Why?
- 27:45>> Where's the
- 27:47>> I don't know. It's Mercedes. Maybe that
- 27:50>> it has 5 billion buttons, touch screens
- 27:53and everything. It's I'm actually even
- 27:55on like fan leaked.
- 27:58Okay. So, but how is the pressures?
- 27:59Okay. Well,
- 28:00>> one nine.
- 28:01>> Yeah.
- 28:01>> And two.
- 28:02>> Honestly, it wasn't too bad like for a
- 28:04>> Can you please turn it?
- 28:05>> Yeah, I cannot. I don't know how this
- 28:07works. There we go.
- 28:09>> Oh, good. Thank you.
- 28:12>> All right. You get in your time. All
- 28:14right. So, first impression. It's good
- 28:17to make this uh boatable vehicle handle.
- 28:23Okay, it's quite an achievement. So,
- 28:25having the tire done quite all right
- 28:27again. We have nothing to
- 28:30Oh, okay. It's just a reflection. I
- 28:31thought the brakes were smoking. We have
- 28:33nothing to compare it against.
- 28:38>> So, that already feels better.
- 28:40>> Yeah.
- 28:51It actually rotates.
- 28:56Oh yeah, on that car they really work.
- 29:01>> Yeah, the weight transfer is so good.
- 29:08>> MDM mode.
- 29:09>> Yeah.
- 29:09>> Okay.
- 29:10>> I think so.
- 29:11>> Yeah. Yeah, it's MDM. Yeah, cuz we're
- 29:13not allowed to switch off DC. We were
- 29:14allowed to do MDM,
- 29:16so we cannot do full skids. But
- 29:19honestly,
- 29:23the feedback through the front axle is
- 29:25good. I of course drive a lot of these
- 29:28cars, so I think this is probably the
- 29:31best benchmark.
- 29:33Really like the again the front axle
- 29:36feel.
- 29:57Heat. Heat.
- 30:03Heat
- 30:22up here.
- 30:52Okay, two laps of mine are done.
- 30:56I'm I'm happy. I'm really happy. I like
- 30:59I I cannot do like uh like this uh
- 31:03overexited influencer thing like, "Oh my
- 31:05god, it's the best ever." It's like,
- 31:08"No, it's it's good. I really like the
- 31:10rotation, the feedback, the transition,
- 31:12like the the weight load, uh or like how
- 31:15it handles the weight,
- 31:18uh the braking, the turning. It's really
- 31:21really nice. It's definitely one of the
- 31:23better tires that I have driven, but uh
- 31:26for honest comparison, it would be good
- 31:29to have a onetoone comparison, but I'm
- 31:31sure we'll get to do it later in the
- 31:33year with one of my own cars, but this
- 31:35like impressed. So, one thing I need to
- 31:38say, you need proper bucket seats in
- 31:40this one.
- 31:41>> Yeah.
- 31:42>> So, that was a bit uh painful for my
- 31:44back. Maybe also good to show how good
- 31:46the tire is that it throws around the
- 31:49passenger,
- 31:50but
- 31:51>> not only the passenger. [laughter]
- 31:53>> Yeah. Yeah.
- 31:55>> Also, my my leg is hurting because I was
- 31:57holding myself [laughter] here.
- 31:59>> Yeah. All right. onto the Amira.
- 32:26He
- 32:32This is so good.
- 32:34>> Yes,
- 32:42>> that one also feels the best as a
- 32:44passenger. Yeah,
- 32:54I feel so comfortable like being up
- 32:56close to them because I know we have
- 32:58such a much better braking performance.
- 33:13Oh,
- 33:39heat, heat.
- 33:58Heat. Heat.
- 34:24That was the most fun. That was epic.
- 34:29That was insane.
- 34:33Cuz proper sports car. And for people
- 34:36who watch my previous video on the Amira
- 34:38who absolutely hated it, this one is
- 34:41good. So, I guess the this is the AMG
- 34:43version, I assume. So, I need to double
- 34:46check. But the shifting was okay.
- 34:49Uh the torque was there, everything was
- 34:51nice, but more importantly, the handling
- 34:55and the braking.
- 34:57Wow. Of course, the other cars should if
- 35:00you want to track them, you would have
- 35:02different suspension, different
- 35:03kinematics, different everything. But
- 35:06this
- 35:10not bad come
- 35:15driving was amazing. Exactly our cup of
- 35:18tea. Really, really love the tire
- 35:21performance. Not going to overexaggerate
- 35:22that. Of course, I'm very much more
- 35:25looking forward to actually compare it
- 35:27to my car, other tires on the no ring,
- 35:30etc., etc. And right now, we are going
- 35:33to have some road driving. I believe
- 35:35there's going to be drestricted autoban.
- 35:38I personally don't care about it in a
- 35:40sense also I don't like to driving fast
- 35:42on public roads even on autoban.
- 35:46Um, but it's interesting to see or more
- 35:49importantly to hear how the tire
- 35:52performs or whether it is making noise
- 35:54on the road because if you're putting it
- 35:57on a daily track car and you have too
- 36:00much noise and VH might be a deal
- 36:03breakaker for some people. So, let's see
- 36:05how it goes. And uh yeah, we are by the
- 36:09way in Porsche Spider, not Spider RS,
- 36:13but the lack of insulation, although
- 36:17it's actually pretty well insulated,
- 36:19should give us quite a good
- 36:21understanding of the tire noise limits
- 36:24and comfort levels as well. What do you
- 36:27think of the rolling resistance?
- 36:29Cuz some semislicks, they like really
- 36:31drag the car, slow it down because
- 36:33there's too much grip and therefore your
- 36:35fuel consumption goes up.
- 36:38>> The problem for me is that I never drove
- 36:41that kind of car. So I don't know how
- 36:42the rolling thing is from a car by
- 36:46itself because some cars just Yeah. stop
- 36:49when you stop giving gas, giving petrol,
- 36:52giving ah accelerate. Giving giving
- 36:55accelerate.
- 36:56>> Yeah. You give them you give them food
- 36:58and then they go you feed the beast and
- 37:00then it goes.
- 37:02>> But the tires are not that loud. So
- 37:03that's a good thing because some Zaks
- 37:06they are so loud when you just drive.
- 37:08>> Air1s is probably like the loudest tire
- 37:10on the planet.
- 37:11>> Yes,
- 37:12they are proper loud. Yeah.
- 37:14>> Yeah.
- 37:16>> Well, I can tell you that there's more
- 37:18wind noise than tire noise.
- 37:24Done a little swapperoo. So now we're in
- 37:26the Audi RS3.
- 37:28>> So the next intersection, next turning
- 37:30left immediately.
- 37:32>> You need to go left. Next one.
- 37:34>> Okay.
- 37:35>> No, the next one. Not here. Anyway, we
- 37:38added Ricky as BOP.
- 37:42And
- 37:44we continue our street driving.
- 37:48Another feature that we are um I
- 37:51wouldn't say testing but get to
- 37:52experience is the tire/ suspension
- 37:55behavior on uh still not as bad as UK
- 37:59roads but
- 38:01>> like challenging roads essentially nor
- 38:03life basically and I would say it's
- 38:06actually quite comfortable
- 38:10not bad not bad at all jump what
- 38:14>> so carousel will be also comfortable
- 38:17Yeah, you can try to do the ABS full
- 38:20braking into the carousel and go through
- 38:22the carousel while you're doing trail
- 38:24braking. All right, now we have come to
- 38:26the last part of the day, some Hooser
- 38:28101. But I want to show you my favorite
- 38:31part of the tire. We have here scales
- 38:3412.64
- 38:375 and we have here cup2R 295 3020 and we
- 38:42have 295 3020 hooer tire. [snorts] So
- 38:4512.645.
- 38:48Let's put it off. We'll put the hooer
- 38:51on.
- 38:54Look at that. Over a kilo like kilo and
- 38:57a half less. That's more than 10% but
- 39:01like kilo itself per corner that's going
- 39:04to change a lot and you definitely feel
- 39:07that.
- 39:07>> First going back to the company uh what
- 39:10are your top three markets? I know
- 39:12between Europe, um, Canada and Mexico,
- 39:17they're they're probably about equal.
- 39:19>> Mhm. Uh, what was the development brief
- 39:22of the tire? What did you want to
- 39:24achieve by making it?
- 39:26>> We wanted to bring a a race product to
- 39:30the the street market. Instead of
- 39:32trailing your car to the track, you just
- 39:34you you drive your car from the garage,
- 39:36you drive it to the track, you have fun,
- 39:38and you drive back home. Um you
- 39:40obviously you can't do that without the
- 39:42fully street legality. We had some
- 39:44products that were great if you could
- 39:45get to the track and you had an extra
- 39:46set of wheels and you could you know
- 39:48change your tires then that's great but
- 39:50we were missing out on you know so that
- 39:52the intent was to bring that level of
- 39:54performance but then put it into a
- 39:56street bowl product that would compete
- 39:58against the top existing um competitors
- 40:00in that market. You
- 40:01>> know today we had quite some good
- 40:03comparison with your competitors. So I
- 40:05think everyone had a good understanding
- 40:07of where this tire sits. The track
- 40:10attack rings for the R. I mean we may
- 40:12not get it here in Europe, but what
- 40:15would be the comparison of that versus
- 40:17other competitors
- 40:18>> in the US market? Yokohama has an AO55.
- 40:22There's a PLA came out with a Trofeo
- 40:25Trek
- 40:26>> that was just recently released. Those
- 40:28are probably the two main competitors.
- 40:30Um BFG used to play in that market. They
- 40:32were they've been out for years. And why
- 40:34would people go for for the track race
- 40:36instead of like full slick because it's
- 40:38nearly
- 40:40>> the same. Like is there like regulations
- 40:41or is it like still price or
- 40:44>> I I think there's it's a bit of both. Um
- 40:48the the slicks are obviously a lot more
- 40:50expensive. I mean
- 40:51>> a set of slicks can be $4,000.
- 40:53>> Yeah.
- 40:54>> Um so this is priced substantially below
- 40:56that.
- 40:57>> How much roughly? I mean depends on the
- 40:58size.
- 40:58>> Yeah, it depends on the size. It's going
- 40:59to be anywhere from 270
- 41:02something to 500 plus uh for the the
- 41:05real premium fitness that 20 21%
- 41:07>> a piece or
- 41:08>> a piece. Yeah.
- 41:09>> And then there's the size range, the the
- 41:11fitment. Um the slicks are limited. Um
- 41:13you've got, you know, like a 305 650.
- 41:16We've got a 305 680. You got 325710.
- 41:20Those are most common ones. You got some
- 41:22other um niche fitments, maybe like a
- 41:24305 660, but they're they're few and far
- 41:27between. So it's it's difficult I think
- 41:29sometimes to find the the right slicks
- 41:31for the you know particular car. Um
- 41:34availability is another thing. They're
- 41:36not maybe as as widely available.
- 41:38>> Um and then a lot of the regulatory
- 41:40bodies the sanction groups they will
- 41:43outlaw certain outlaw slicks. Um they'll
- 41:47only allow you to use certain brands and
- 41:49certain types of tires.
- 41:50>> Uh again to control the the cost. Um so
- 41:53there there's a lot of reasons I guess
- 41:55why.
- 41:56>> Yeah. And that's it. The day has come to
- 41:59an end. Wait, it makes it sound like it
- 42:01was a vlog. Essentially, it was. I was
- 42:03sharing you the experience I was
- 42:04getting, but also giving you a bit of a
- 42:06review, a mixture of everything. And I
- 42:08think that it is how it's supposed to
- 42:10be. My verdict, first of all,
- 42:12fantastically organized event by Huer. I
- 42:14think it honestly takes balls to put
- 42:17yourself against a competitor product
- 42:19and actually let everyone try it out and
- 42:22give their honest opinion. So that is
- 42:25like really done properly. That's
- 42:27something that shows confidence and I do
- 42:29believe that the performance was
- 42:32superior. Grip levels, we will figure it
- 42:34out once we're going to test it on a new
- 42:36and I can give you a more in-depth
- 42:38opinion. But when it comes to the
- 42:40response of the tire due to reduced
- 42:42weight, that for me sold the tire, you
- 42:46could say. So extremely excited. that
- 42:48I'm going to try to get a set for my
- 42:50Corvette because I mean Corvette,
- 42:52American car, American tire, how like
- 42:55what else do you want? So, I would
- 42:56really like to try out soon the Track
- 42:59Attack Pros, maybe Track Attack Race or
- 43:01R8 as well, but then too many people
- 43:04going to complain that, oh, that's not a
- 43:06street figure. But story for another
- 43:08time. Anyway, fantastic event, fantastic
- 43:11tire. I'm really excited to try it out.
- 43:14As I said, there's going to be now
- 43:15another track day happening. As you see,
- 43:17lots of tires have fallen today. So, it
- 43:22was it was really, really great. So,
- 43:24thank you for the invite. Really enjoyed
- 43:27it. Great cars, great tire, great food.
- 43:30Um, great company as well. All kinds of
- 43:32people that we know that you know. And
- 43:34that's kind of it. On to many more, many
- 43:38more, many more. Should I start doing
- 43:40press events again? Like, cuz I want to
- 43:44do variety of content. Let me know if
- 43:46you enjoyed this video. See you.
