I Recreated Spider-Man Movies With LEGO — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Today, I'm building iconic moments from
- 0:01the Spider-Man movies out of LEGO. All
- 0:0310 movies and each build will get bigger
- 0:05and better, so be sure to stick around
- 0:07to the end. Let's begin with the final
- 0:08battle between Spider-Man and Green
- 0:10Goblin at the end of Spider-Man 1. We'll
- 0:12swap out this LEGO Spider-Man minifigure
- 0:14for a shiny Tobey Maguire Spider-Man
- 0:16minifigure. And then we'll need to build
- 0:17our own Green Goblin to fight
- 0:19Spider-Man. Now, this minifigure's body
- 0:21will work perfectly for the Green
- 0:22Goblin. We can also take the head of
- 0:24this LEGO minifigure and add it to the
- 0:26body alongside a hairpiece from my LEGO
- 0:28collection. we have the right
- 0:29characters, it's just time to build the
- 0:31scene. We'll start by building a base,
- 0:32but this battle takes place above
- 0:34ground, so let's add some wooden
- 0:35supports. And then I'll tile the
- 0:37supports off and add a wall to the back
- 0:39of the build, where we can place the
- 0:40Green Goblin ready to take on
- 0:42Spider-Man. Now, I'll add Spider-Man to
- 0:44the scene, but I want to make it look
- 0:45like he's jumping, which will make sense
- 0:46in a second, because I'll go ahead and
- 0:48build the Goblin Glider, which has these
- 0:50cool rubber spikes on it. And then I'll
- 0:51add a small build to the glider to make
- 0:53it look like it's speeding towards the
- 0:55Green Goblin. And now we've turned our
- 0:56first iconic Spider-Man moment into
- 0:58LEGO.
- 0:58>> [music]
- 0:58>> But there are even bigger and crazier
- 1:00Spider-Man moments for us to build later
- 1:02in this video. Now, it's time to make
- 1:03the train fight scene from Spider-Man 2.
- 1:05We'll use the same LEGO Spider-Man
- 1:07minifigure from our first build, but
- 1:08we'll also use this awesome-looking Doc
- 1:11Ock minifigure with these huge robotic
- 1:13arms. And thankfully, there's an
- 1:14official LEGO set for this scene, so
- 1:15we'll just use the train car from that,
- 1:17which has plenty of interior space. And
- 1:19conveniently, there's two studs on the
- 1:20front of the train where we can place
- 1:22LEGO Spider-Man. I built some custom
- 1:24train tracks to help make the scene even
- 1:25more convincing, but the issue is every
- 1:27time I place the train on it, they just
- 1:29fall off. So, I added two more versions
- 1:31of the tracks, but I may have gone
- 1:32overboard because now it's a bit too
- 1:34long. Let's set that aside though and
- 1:35build the scene. We'll start with the
- 1:37train tracks, add some buildings off to
- 1:39the side, place the train in the center,
- 1:41and add some webs attached to the
- 1:42buildings. Then we can add Doc Ock to
- 1:44the back of the train while Spider-Man
- 1:46saves the day. Now, let's build the
- 1:47final battle at a construction site from
- 1:50Spider-Man 3. Now, we get a simplified
- 1:51version in a LEGO set already, but we
- 1:53can make it way better. Now, Now main
- 1:55base of the set is this abandoned
- 1:57construction site full of Venom spider
- 1:59webs. Now the single most important part
- 2:00about this battle is Spider-Man's will
- 2:02have him, but we also have our first of
- 2:04two villains, which is this awesome
- 2:05looking Venom minifigure with these
- 2:07crazy Venom tentacles. The other
- 2:09villain's going to be Sandman who's got
- 2:10the super cool look to him, but he's
- 2:12also got these sand gauntlets and one of
- 2:14the gauntlets can hold Spider-Man. And
- 2:16because he's not big enough, we can also
- 2:17give him this awesome looking sand tower
- 2:19which he stands on. And now that we've
- 2:21built the baseline of our battle, we
- 2:22still need to add two more characters
- 2:24and some other things. Now there's a
- 2:25taxi suspended above everyone while
- 2:27they're battling, so I can take this
- 2:29LEGO taxi and place it on top of the
- 2:31build. MJ is also present in this
- 2:33battle, so I can attach her to some of
- 2:34Venom's webs. Now Harry Osborn is also
- 2:37present in this battle as the new
- 2:38Goblin, so I'll recreate him in LEGO
- 2:40form and give him his own Goblin glider,
- 2:42which looks super cool and kind of
- 2:44reminds me of a hoverboard. And now I've
- 2:46officially built the iconic Spider-Man 3
- 2:48final battle. And now we've officially
- 2:49built iconic moments from all three of
- 2:51Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man movies, but
- 2:53we still have plenty of LEGO Spider-Man
- 2:55movies to build, like both of Andrew
- 2:57Garfield's Spider-Man movies. Now I was
- 2:59thinking for The Amazing Spider-Man, we
- 3:00could do a battle between Spider-Man and
- 3:02the Lizard in the sewers. Now this
- 3:04Lizard minifigure is pretty cool, he's
- 3:05even got a tail, but I wish he was a bit
- 3:07bigger. He is accurate though. [music]
- 3:09Now to build this epic sewer scene, we
- 3:11can start with the sewer itself which
- 3:13has this toxic green sludge flowing
- 3:15through it that Spider-Man and the
- 3:16Lizard definitely want to avoid. There's
- 3:18some nicely placed newspapers on the
- 3:19side of one of the sewer walls and then
- 3:21we can place this support pole here
- 3:23because we can take this slab built to
- 3:25look like a street and place it over the
- 3:27sewer. Now there are a couple cool
- 3:28things about this above ground part of
- 3:30the build, like a manhole to drop
- 3:31Spider-Man through or a park bench for
- 3:33Spider-Man to chill out. Now that
- 3:34Spider-Man's defeated the Lizard, a new
- 3:36opponent emerges and that's Electro, one
- 3:39of the main villains of The Amazing
- 3:40Spider-Man 2, but we'll use this
- 3:42minifigure instead because it's a little
- 3:43more movie accurate and we'll give him a
- 3:45hood and two electricity pieces. [music]
- 3:47And I think it would be cool to recreate
- 3:48the Times Square battle scene. I'll
- 3:50start by building up the city and then
- 3:52we can add on some city streets. I'll
- 3:54place our Electro minifigure front and
- 3:56center, and then add Spider-Man off to
- 3:57the side firing a web at him. And there
- 3:59were a ton of police officers at the
- 4:00scene, so I'll add some in here. Now,
- 4:02let's take a moment and realize all
- 4:04these LEGO Spider-Man have something in
- 4:05common. They were bit by a spider. So,
- 4:07let's build an iconic LEGO Spider-Man
- 4:09origin story. Now, it usually takes
- 4:11place in an unusual area, like a
- 4:13laboratory, with items you don't
- 4:14normally see every day, like a toxic
- 4:16waste bin, or unique and colorful
- 4:18gadgets, or even colorful unique LEGO
- 4:21pieces, like this one right here. And
- 4:22Peter Parker's often there for some
- 4:24normal reason, like taking photographs.
- 4:26And then out of nowhere, a spider pulls
- 4:28up and bites him, turning a normal Peter
- 4:31Parker into the iconic Spider-Man. But
- 4:34now, let's get back to the movies and
- 4:35focus on Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Now,
- 4:37let's recreate my favorite Spider-Man
- 4:39movie, Homecoming, where the Vulture is
- 4:41the big villain. Let's build the iconic
- 4:43beach battle from that movie. Now, to
- 4:45build the location where this battle
- 4:46takes place, we'll build this black
- 4:48outline, and then we'll build the beach
- 4:50itself, which we can place within the
- 4:52outline. And once that's done, we still
- 4:54have plenty of work to do to make the
- 4:55scene come to life, like adding fire on
- 4:57top of the sand, because there was a lot
- 4:59during this battle. Then we can add
- 5:01random crates and barrels, because there
- 5:03was tons strewn about the battle. And
- 5:04the most important thing of any moment
- 5:06in this video is Spider-Man, so we'll
- 5:07throw him in there. And then on the
- 5:09opposing side of the lineup, we have the
- 5:11Vulture with this awesome set of custom
- 5:13wings, which are connected together
- 5:14using ball joints, so they're super
- 5:16flexible and articulate. They also have
- 5:17super cool engines built into them, and
- 5:19then these huge feathers on the end.
- 5:21I'll build a simple contraption to hold
- 5:23them up in the air, and then we can
- 5:24place them into the scene. And man, this
- 5:25looks epic. Now, for our next iconic
- 5:27Spider-Man moment, let's build the
- 5:29bridge battle from Far From Home. Now,
- 5:31I'll start by building this small chunk
- 5:33of the bridge, which has some nice
- 5:35details on it. And then I'll build the
- 5:36back wall and attach it to the rest of
- 5:38the build. And now, it's time to add
- 5:39minifigures. We'll add this new cool
- 5:42black and red Spider-Man suit that looks
- 5:44super sweet. And then we can equip him
- 5:45with a tower bridge sign that he uses as
- 5:47a shield as well as a web to launch at
- 5:49Mysterio. And now it's time to add
- 5:51Spider-Man to the scene. Now this LEGO
- 5:53Mysterio minifigure is based on the one
- 5:55from the movie, but I think we can make
- 5:56it a little better by swapping out the
- 5:57mask for a minifigure head and hair
- 5:59piece with glasses that look like Edith.
- 6:01I'll then place Mysterio off to the side
- 6:03and then we can build this tiny custom
- 6:05Stark drone with these little missile
- 6:06launchers on the front and add it to the
- 6:08scene coming after Spider-Man. Now let's
- 6:10take a moment to switch our attention to
- 6:11Miles Morales whose two movies are
- 6:13animated instead of live action. Now for
- 6:15the first of the two Miles Morales
- 6:17Spider-Man movies, I want to recreate
- 6:19the leap of faith scene where Spider-Man
- 6:21dives off a building truly accepting his
- 6:23spider powers for the first time. Now
- 6:25we'll use the Daily Bugle as the
- 6:26building Spider-Man is diving off of and
- 6:28it's super useful because it's got studs
- 6:30all over it which means we can place
- 6:32this translucent piece that will help us
- 6:34connect this awesome looking Miles
- 6:35Morales minifigure who we can equip with
- 6:37spider webs so it looks like he's diving
- 6:39off the building truly taking a leap of
- 6:41faith.
- 6:42Now for the second Miles Morales
- 6:44Spider-Man movie, let's recreate the
- 6:45chase scene with all the Spider-Man in
- 6:48it. Now the scene would be massive if we
- 6:49built the entire thing so let's just
- 6:50build a small chunk of it which will
- 6:52fill with minifigures in just a second.
- 6:54If you want to treat it like a display,
- 6:56there's a spot for Miles off to the side
- 6:57or you can place minifigures within the
- 6:59build. Speaking of minifigures, we need
- 7:01to add a lot of Spider-Man to this chase
- 7:03like web slinger or a cowboy themed
- 7:04Spider-Man or this punk rocker
- 7:06Spider-Man. Or what about a werewolf
- 7:08Spider-Man or maybe even a cyborg
- 7:10Spider-Man. But the real star of the
- 7:11show is Miguel O'Hara Spider-Man 2099.
- 7:14He's got this awesome red and dark blue
- 7:16look with this super cool cape and nice
- 7:18printing on his arms. But now let's fill
- 7:20up our scene with Spider-Man. I'll place
- 7:22Miles Morales at the front being chased
- 7:24and then we can add Miguel O'Hara right
- 7:26behind it. Next are some of Spider-Man's
- 7:27friends and then we can add some other
- 7:29spider people at the back. And just for
- 7:31fun, let's throw a Spider-Rex in there.
- 7:33Now Miles has contributed some pretty
- 7:34awesome Spider-Man movies, but we're not
- 7:36done with Tom Holland's Spider-Man yet.
- 7:38Now I think it's pretty much a slam dunk
- 7:40when trying to figure out what to build
- 7:41for Spider-Man No Way Home, and that's
- 7:43the final battle, of course, with all
- 7:44three of the Spider-Men. And
- 7:45fortunately, LEGO gives us the perfect
- 7:48base. We just need to add all the right
- 7:49minifigures. I'll start by adding all
- 7:51three of the Spider-Men to the Statue of
- 7:52Liberty, and I'll turn them around and
- 7:54have them charging at the Sandman. I'll
- 7:56have the Green Goblin flying around
- 7:57behind them, and then I'll have two of
- 7:59the villains creating some mischief
- 8:00below. The last villain we'll need is
- 8:02Doc Ock, and then this battle's
- 8:03complete, and it looks quite epic. Now,
- 8:05the very next Spider-Man movie is
- 8:07Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and at the
- 8:08time of filming this video, it comes out
- 8:10in a few days. LEGO does give us some
- 8:12pretty epic sets to go alongside though,
- 8:14so I'll just create my own scene where
- 8:15Hulk is smashing out of this building
- 8:17taking on the Tarantula while
- 8:18Spider-Man's below fighting the other
- 8:20villains. And now we've recreated a ton
- 8:23of different iconic Spider-Man movie
- 8:25moments in LEGO. And if you want to see
- 8:26a video where I build every LEGO Marvel
- 8:28action figure, check this one out right
- 8:30here.
