  1. 0:00Yesterday I ran into a grown man who
  2. 0:02I've known since he was a tiny little
  3. 0:04boy. It's funny to think about. Um I
  4. 0:06remember going to the YMCA. This is
  5. 0:09maybe 20 25 years ago where I would play
  6. 0:11basketball with his his dad. I remember
  7. 0:14him and his little brother coming in
  8. 0:15bouncing in. You know, their heads were
  9. 0:17bobbling along uh holding basketballs
  10. 0:20that were too tall for them. Uh when I
  11. 0:22saw him yesterday, it was great catching
  12. 0:24up with him and I said, "Hey, look, you
  13. 0:26need to do one of two things." He's a
  14. 0:28He's currently a teacher. I said, "Look,
  15. 0:30you need to do one of two things. Either
  16. 0:31you need to get into administration or
  17. 0:34you need to start coaching kids how to
  18. 0:36play basketball."
  19. 0:38And he looked at me with a little
  20. 0:39hesitation. He's got a young kid at
  21. 0:41home, so I understand not wanting to uh
  22. 0:43devote more time to other kids. Um, and
  23. 0:46he's busy. He wants to spend time with
  24. 0:47his family. And I get it. And so this is
  25. 0:49what I said what he should do. I said,
  26. 0:51"You know what? take the skill that you
  27. 0:53already have and put it online because
  28. 0:56you can help maybe 20 kids a week if
  29. 0:59you're doing it in person here in
  30. 1:00Kenosha or you can help millions of
  31. 1:03people worldwide and potentially make
  32. 1:06more money. So, I told him what I would
  33. 1:07do is I'd make a video just for him, but
  34. 1:09take the examples that I give you and
  35. 1:11apply it to your life. Take whatever
  36. 1:12hobbies, skills, passion, um things that
  37. 1:15you like to talk about and teach other
  38. 1:18people and you can make money. So, we're
  39. 1:19going to lay everything out. We're going
  40. 1:21to talk about how to get eyeballs. We're
  41. 1:23going to talk about how to t turn those
  42. 1:24eyeballs into money in the bank. And
  43. 1:27we're going to do it all right here.
  44. 1:29[laughter] So, let's go ahead and get
  45. 1:31started. First thing you're going to do
  46. 1:32is you want to identify a group of
  47. 1:34people that you want to help. A specific
  48. 1:36group of people. You don't want to try
  49. 1:38and help 10 million people. You need to
  50. 1:40help a 1 million people. 1 million is a
  51. 1:43good target. Uh because 1% of those 1
  52. 1:45million people are going to potentially
  53. 1:47buy something from you, which turns into
  54. 1:49a good living. So step number one,
  55. 1:51identify a group of people that you want
  56. 1:53to help. Look back what look at things
  57. 1:55that you've done in your past. Look at
  58. 1:57questions that people have asked you.
  59. 1:58Look look at what people have come to
  60. 2:00you for help for. In this example, he
  61. 2:03played basketball. I wanted him to
  62. 2:05potentially coach my kids one-on-one.
  63. 2:07And so his thing is going to be
  64. 2:08basketball. Now, don't worry if there
  65. 2:10are 10,000 people that are already
  66. 2:13teaching basketball. That means that
  67. 2:15there's opportunity. That means that
  68. 2:16there are millions of people out there
  69. 2:18that want to learn, need to learn, that
  70. 2:20will pay you for uh your knowledge,
  71. 2:22skills, and experience. One of the
  72. 2:24biggest drawbacks I get or or push backs
  73. 2:26that I get, people will often say,
  74. 2:28"Well, Austin, it's too saturated."
  75. 2:30Saturation is a myth. Um I don't believe
  76. 2:32in saturation. It just lets you know
  77. 2:34that there is an area of opportunity.
  78. 2:37What you're going to do is you're going
  79. 2:38to separate yourself based using your
  80. 2:41knowledge, skills, and experience. Now,
  81. 2:44he played division one basketball. Most
  82. 2:46people out there have never played
  83. 2:48division one basketball, and that
  84. 2:49already separates himself from the
  85. 2:51people that are out there. I'm I'm not
  86. 2:53wearing this in in honor of him. I'm
  87. 2:55wearing this because I'm about to go to
  88. 2:57the gym. Anyway,
  89. 2:59use your knowledge, skills, and
  90. 3:01experience um to craft to create your
  91. 3:04own um unique angle. So, that's step
  92. 3:07number one. Identify a group of people
  93. 3:09that you want to help. Step number two
  94. 3:12is identify where you want to create
  95. 3:14content. Identify where people are
  96. 3:17already hanging out. Where are people
  97. 3:19going? Where they have a a question or a
  98. 3:22problem or a concern. The biggest places
  99. 3:24are usually YouTube, Tik Tok, Facebook,
  100. 3:27Instagram, um any social media platform,
  101. 3:30even Reddit. You could go on Reddit and
  102. 3:32you could dominate Reddit. The reason
  103. 3:34why you want to do this next is you want
  104. 3:36to see how people are asking questions
  105. 3:38and how people are discovering you. For
  106. 3:40example, on YouTube, people might be
  107. 3:42typing in best basketball drills for
  108. 3:45six-year-olds or how to shoot a
  109. 3:47basketball. Over on Tik Tok, it's more
  110. 3:49of a discovery engine. And so, you've
  111. 3:52got to be a little bit more maybe
  112. 3:53dynamic and you've got to um go out and
  113. 3:56find ways to to to draw attention and to
  114. 4:00keep that attention longer than 3
  115. 4:02seconds. Any platform will work. Any
  116. 4:04platform where millions or billions of
  117. 4:06people are already gathering is the
  118. 4:08perfect opportunity. Again, we're not
  119. 4:10worried about saturation. We're not
  120. 4:12worried about uh competition at this
  121. 4:14point. We simply want to make sure that
  122. 4:16there is a enough of a demand. So,
  123. 4:18people that are interested and we want
  124. 4:19to make sure that uh we understand the
  125. 4:22platform and that's really really
  126. 4:23important. Understand how people are
  127. 4:27reacting, how people are discovering
  128. 4:28your content. just figure out what is
  129. 4:31already working so that when we decide
  130. 4:33to create content, we're not trying to
  131. 4:35reinvent the wheel. One of the biggest
  132. 4:37mistakes I made is I was trying to
  133. 4:39reinvent the wheel when it came to
  134. 4:41creating content. Instead, I should have
  135. 4:43looked at what was already working and
  136. 4:45try and uh model that, not copy word for
  137. 4:48word, model what's already working with
  138. 4:50regard, for example, YouTube. If a
  139. 4:52specific type of thumbnail is already
  140. 4:54working, try and model that, but then
  141. 4:56add in your own spin or add in your own
  142. 4:58taste. Uh, so we've got the the niche or
  143. 5:02the idea, which is basketball. We've got
  144. 5:04the platform, which might be YouTube or
  145. 5:07even Tik Tok. Now, we need to start
  146. 5:09thinking about the type of content that
  147. 5:11we're going to make. What I would do,
  148. 5:13and I would recommend for him, if I was
  149. 5:15working with him one-on-one, is I would
  150. 5:16say, look at the videos that are
  151. 5:20performing well. Look at videos that
  152. 5:22have a good view to subscriber ratio.
  153. 5:24And what I mean by that is the video has
  154. 5:26more views than subscribers.
  155. 5:29Look at the title. Look at the
  156. 5:30thumbnail. And we're going to make our
  157. 5:33own video. We're not going to watch the
  158. 5:35original video and copy and steal. We
  159. 5:37want to model the title and the
  160. 5:38thumbnail and potentially change one
  161. 5:41variable within that title. So, if uh we
  162. 5:45see a title that works that says um best
  163. 5:48dribbling drills for six-year-olds, we
  164. 5:51might say best dribbling drills for
  165. 5:53left-handed six-year-olds or best
  166. 5:55dribbling drills for six-year-olds in
  167. 5:572026. We want to try and add a different
  168. 6:00variable or best dribbling drills for
  169. 6:038-year-old beginners. We want to try and
  170. 6:06tweak that one variable so the the video
  171. 6:09is unique enough where it's still your
  172. 6:11own, but it's signaling to YouTube who
  173. 6:14we want to help because ultimately
  174. 6:16YouTube and I think I said this
  175. 6:17yesterday, YouTube wants to keep people
  176. 6:19on the platform. And the best way to
  177. 6:20keep people on the platform is to show
  178. 6:23things that have worked in the past. So,
  179. 6:25if we model our title, best six best
  180. 6:29dribbling drills for six-year-olds, if
  181. 6:31we model that, best dribbling drills for
  182. 6:33left-handed six-year-olds, for example,
  183. 6:35we are showing to YouTube who we're
  184. 6:37trying to help, and we're modeling
  185. 6:38what's already working. We're not
  186. 6:40stealing, we're simply modeling. So,
  187. 6:43what you're going to do is you are going
  188. 6:45to look at the frequency that the people
  189. 6:48that are in the mid tier that are
  190. 6:49uploading. Uh, for example, larger
  191. 6:51creators are probably uploading once a
  192. 6:53month. Medium-sized creators are
  193. 6:55probably uploading at least once or
  194. 6:56twice a week. If you're on YouTube,
  195. 6:58smaller creators are probably uploading
  196. 7:01multiple to gain traction. So, I'm going
  197. 7:04to tell you if you're going to use
  198. 7:05YouTube, upload twice a week. If you are
  199. 7:07on Tik Tok uh or other vertical
  200. 7:10platforms, you're going to need to
  201. 7:12upload probably daily. Uh the other
  202. 7:14thing that you can do is you can react
  203. 7:16to other people's content. So, for
  204. 7:18example, Lethal Shooter was just
  205. 7:20shooting teaching Miss Rachel how to
  206. 7:21shoot jump shots. Why don't you react to
  207. 7:23it? That's a very simple way to start
  208. 7:25gaining traction. Talk about what Miss
  209. 7:27Rachel is doing wrong. Talk about how
  210. 7:29Miss Rachel traveled in one of her jump
  211. 7:31shots, right? So, react to what's
  212. 7:34already working, what's already
  213. 7:35trending, what's already popular. You
  214. 7:36can also create content about specific
  215. 7:38type of tools inside of um your niche.
  216. 7:42So, for basketball, there's maybe a
  217. 7:45specific shooting trainer that people uh
  218. 7:48recommend. and you could say, um, it's
  219. 7:50not as not all it's cracked up to be
  220. 7:52because here are the flaws. That's a
  221. 7:54great way to gra to gain traction
  222. 7:55because people are talking about the
  223. 7:57specific tool. So, we've got the the
  224. 7:59niche, we've got our content ideas, we
  225. 8:02know we're where we're going to create
  226. 8:03content. Now, let's talk about how to
  227. 8:05make money because obviously we want to
  228. 8:08do this. And thinking and talking about
  229. 8:10money is never a bad thing. And you
  230. 8:12should be confident enough to ask people
  231. 8:16for money because if you have a solution
  232. 8:18that truly helps them, you should be
  233. 8:20helping solve a problem. So, let's go
  234. 8:21ahead and talk a little bit about money.
  235. 8:23Now, for him, the first thing you want
  236. 8:26to do is you're going to want to create
  237. 8:28a um a tool or a guide to help your
  238. 8:31target audience solve the problem faster
  239. 8:33or easier. So, in the example of the of
  240. 8:36the basketball, maybe we can create a
  241. 8:39short training or a short guide uh to
  242. 8:41help someone achieve a specific result
  243. 8:43quickly in their niche. For basketball,
  244. 8:47maybe we create a a fitness plan, a
  245. 8:50shooting plan, a workout plan uh to help
  246. 8:53them inc improve their jump shot percent
  247. 8:55by 20%. It doesn't have to be a huge
  248. 8:58leap. And that's another mistake a lot
  249. 9:00of people make is they believe that they
  250. 9:02have to help people solve a huge
  251. 9:04problem. The first immediate solution
  252. 9:06that we provide is going to be a quick
  253. 9:09fix. Maybe it's just a um a shooting
  254. 9:12routine that they do every day for 2
  255. 9:14weeks. The first thing that we want to
  256. 9:16do is we want to create a solution that
  257. 9:19is immediate and they can see immediate
  258. 9:21results. Now you're probably saying,
  259. 9:22"Well, Austin, they can just look on
  260. 9:24CHBT for." Yes, that's true. They'll
  261. 9:26look on chatbt, but they're coming to
  262. 9:29you because or they'll buy from you
  263. 9:32because they've seen your content. They
  264. 9:34will build a parasocial relationship
  265. 9:37where they know, like, and trust you.
  266. 9:39So, step one is you are simply when when
  267. 9:41it comes to making money, you are going
  268. 9:43to build out and this can be a PDF, this
  269. 9:46could be a short workbook, a short um
  270. 9:49Excel spreadsheet or dashboard where you
  271. 9:52are helping them solve an immediate
  272. 9:54problem. Maybe it could be something as
  273. 9:56simple as um ball handling drills to do
  274. 10:00every day for two weeks to uh to reduce
  275. 10:04the number of steels or turnovers.
  276. 10:06[snorts] Um if you're in woodworking, it
  277. 10:08could be the 10 easy templates or
  278. 10:11blueprints to craft your first
  279. 10:13woodworking project. It doesn't need to
  280. 10:15be big. It doesn't need to be massive.
  281. 10:17And it doesn't need to solve all of the
  282. 10:19world's problems. Small, specific wins.
  283. 10:22So, we create this digital product, then
  284. 10:25we create keep creating content pushing
  285. 10:28people toward that digital product. What
  286. 10:31I like to use is a simple if then
  287. 10:33statement. If you want to improve your
  288. 10:35shooting percentage by 25%, then check
  289. 10:38out the link in my bio. If you want to
  290. 10:41uh become a better ball handler, that's
  291. 10:43kind of weak. If you want to reduce your
  292. 10:45turnovers, um, if you want to reduce
  293. 10:48your turnovers, then get my step-by-step
  294. 10:52guide linked in the description or DM
  295. 10:54me. Right? So, what's really cool about
  296. 10:56this is we are building a list full of
  297. 10:59buyers, a list of full of people that
  298. 11:01are willing to give you money. Chances
  299. 11:03are if you if they've given you money
  300. 11:05once, they are going to be more ready,
  301. 11:08willing, and able to give you money
  302. 11:10again if you solve their initial
  303. 11:11problem. So step one, we create a simple
  304. 11:15training where we charge $77
  305. 11:19and teach them a give them a quick
  306. 11:21result. We teach them how to improve
  307. 11:23their shooting percentage by 10%. They
  308. 11:26get that they do the workout, they
  309. 11:29increase increase their shooting
  310. 11:30percentage, then they're going to come
  311. 11:32back to you because every solution
  312. 11:34creates more problems. And what I mean
  313. 11:36by that is, let's say you increase your
  314. 11:38shooting percentage by 10% using u just
  315. 11:43simple shooting drills. The next thing
  316. 11:44is you're going to need to know how to
  317. 11:46shoot off the dribble or you're going to
  318. 11:47need to know how to uh improve your
  319. 11:50shooting percent by 50%. Or shooting
  320. 11:53with a hand in your face. And so what
  321. 11:55you can do there is you can uh create
  322. 11:58another course, you can create a guide
  323. 12:00that will help them solve that next
  324. 12:02problem. And this is what people will
  325. 12:04refer to as a value ladder. Russell
  326. 12:06Brunson calls it a value ladder. You get
  327. 12:08them in the door with a immediate
  328. 12:10solution. Then you offer them more and
  329. 12:12more solutions at a higher and higher
  330. 12:14price. Now, not everyone's going to
  331. 12:15spend more money with you, but that's
  332. 12:17okay. We don't want everyone to spend
  333. 12:19more money with us. We want to keep
  334. 12:21providing solutions to the problems that
  335. 12:23our audience has. And so, again, you're
  336. 12:26having that first product that you sell
  337. 12:28for seven or $17. you create a course
  338. 12:32for um to increase your entire offensive
  339. 12:37uh skills and ability, there are going
  340. 12:38to be more people that want your help.
  341. 12:40After that, there you can create an
  342. 12:42online community where you're providing
  343. 12:44ongoing tips. You can offer one-on-one
  344. 12:46coaching and consulting. You can even
  345. 12:48have people uh record themselves or
  346. 12:50record their kids shooting and
  347. 12:52dribbling. And then you provide
  348. 12:53feedback. Heck, that might even be the
  349. 12:55first digital product that you create.
  350. 12:58You say something as simple as, "For 25
  351. 13:01bucks, if you um record your son or
  352. 13:05daughter shooting jump shots, I will
  353. 13:07give you five tips to improve the way
  354. 13:10that they're shooting." That could be a
  355. 13:12very simple thing. They send you the
  356. 13:14video, you um you watch it, give them
  357. 13:17feedback, put your hand here, move your
  358. 13:20foot there, um and and you've got a
  359. 13:22digital product and you've got money
  360. 13:23coming in the front door. Now, really
  361. 13:26the only step is creating websites and
  362. 13:29funnels and all of that stuff, but that
  363. 13:30might be a separate video. But the
  364. 13:33overall it's really simple. Am I telling
  365. 13:36you it's easy? Of course not. It's
  366. 13:38simple, but not easy. Identify a group
  367. 13:40of people that you want to help.
  368. 13:42Identify where they're at. Learn that
  369. 13:45platform and how they interact and do
  370. 13:47things. Create content to get in front
  371. 13:49of them. and then create a small
  372. 13:52specific digital product to solve their
