I Made $1.5M Using This Meta Ads Strategy (Step-By-Step) — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00What's up, guys? My name is Nick
- 0:01Dolberg, and I'm going to share the one
- 0:02simple meta ads testing strategy that I
- 0:04use to build the foundation and scale
- 0:06one of my drop ship stores to over $1.5
- 0:09million so far this year alone. After
- 0:11this video, you'll have a clear
- 0:12understanding of how to properly test,
- 0:14launch, and analyze your campaign's
- 0:16results effectively. Again, my name is
- 0:17Nick Dolberg and you can find me on
- 0:19Instagram at jung.labs. You can also
- 0:21find me here on YouTube, Junglabs. And I
- 0:23would appreciate if you could drop this
- 0:24video a like and subscribe to the
- 0:26channel. And you can also find me on Tik
- 0:27Tok at Junglabs. Now, so far this year,
- 0:29I've done over $1.5 million in sales.
- 0:31Now, the reason I show you that is to
- 0:33prove that the strategy that you're
- 0:34going to learn today is effective and
- 0:35works. But before I jump into the
- 0:37strategy itself, there's three important
- 0:38topics that we need to understand first.
- 0:40Look at these almost as prerequisites.
- 0:41You need to have a basic understanding
- 0:43of these before you launch your
- 0:44campaigns. Otherwise, you're going to be
- 0:46extremely confused. These three topics
- 0:47are the pixel, the learning phase, and
- 0:49the attribution window. We're going to
- 0:50start over here on the left with the
- 0:52pixel. The pixel is essentially just the
- 0:53brain of your ad account. Your pixel
- 0:55needs time to optimize around your
- 0:57customer. The more data it collects, the
- 0:59better your delivery will be.
- 1:00Essentially, just meaning the better
- 1:01your results will be as your pixel
- 1:03starts to collect more data. Now, you
- 1:04ideally need around 100 purchases in
- 1:06order for your pixel to start properly
- 1:08optimizing around your customers. Next,
- 1:10we have learning phase. All new adets
- 1:12that are just launched are going to be
- 1:13put in the learning phase, and this is
- 1:15where Meta is trying to find your ideal
- 1:17customers. Now, your results will get
- 1:19better over time as your adsets exit the
- 1:21learning phase and start to stabilize.
- 1:23Now, in order to do that, you need about
- 1:2550 events. And in this case, we're only
- 1:27going to be optimizing towards purchase
- 1:29events because that's what we do when we
- 1:30drop ship. So, you're going to need 50
- 1:32purchase events to exit the learning
- 1:34phase within a 7-day time period. And I
- 1:36mentioned this because in the beginning,
- 1:37your results may be a bit choppy. But
- 1:39later on in this video, I'm going to
- 1:40show you how to analyze your metrics so
- 1:42you can rule out any outliers there.
- 1:44Now, lastly, we have attribution
- 1:46windows. And this is how Meta attributes
- 1:48sales back to your dashboard. For
- 1:50simplicity, let's look at it like this.
- 1:52You have a 7-day attribution window and
- 1:54a 1-day attribution window. Let's start
- 1:56with 7-day. This is what I recommend to
- 1:57anybody just getting started. And this
- 1:59is the default window that Meta gives
- 2:00you. A 7-day attribution window is any
- 2:02sales made within a 7-day window are
- 2:04attributed back to your dashboard. And
- 2:07this is the best for exiting learning.
- 2:08So, let's say, for example, I saw your
- 2:10product from an Instagram ad. And let's
- 2:12say I decided to click on that ad and go
- 2:13to your website, but for some reason, I
- 2:15decided not to buy. And 3 days later, I
- 2:17remembered your URL and went back to
- 2:19your website. or maybe I saw an ad from
- 2:21you on Tik Tok and decided to go back to
- 2:23your website and decided to buy right
- 2:24then and there. Well, since it's within
- 2:26that 7-day attribution window, Meta is
- 2:28going to attribute that sale back to our
- 2:30dashboard. So, you can see why that's
- 2:32really good for exiting learning because
- 2:33we need 50 purchases within a 7-day
- 2:35window to exit. So, 7-day is recommended
- 2:37for most people getting started and
- 2:38probably for you watching this. Now, on
- 2:40the other hand, we have a 1-day
- 2:41attribution window. So, any sales that
- 2:43are made within a 24-hour window. Now, a
- 2:451-day attribution window is any sales
- 2:47that are made within a 24-hour period.
- 2:49And with this, you're typically going to
- 2:50get higher quality traffic, but the
- 2:51caveat is you need a larger budget in
- 2:53order to exit the learning phase here.
- 2:55So, here's a quick recap. Starting with
- 2:57the pixel, we need about 100 purchases
- 2:59in order for our pixel to start
- 3:00optimizing properly. For learning phase,
- 3:03you're going to need about 50 different
- 3:05purchase events to fire off, meaning
- 3:07just 50 different purchases to happen
- 3:08within a 7-day time period on those
- 3:10adsets in order to exit learning. And
- 3:12lastly, we have attribution window. And
- 3:14I recommend starting out with a 7-day
- 3:15attribution window, which you don't need
- 3:17to do anything there because by default,
- 3:18you'll already have that. Any sales that
- 3:20happen within a 7-day window that come
- 3:22from Meadow will be attributed back to
- 3:24your campaigns, which will help you exit
- 3:26learning phase faster, which will also
- 3:28help your pixel start to optimize a bit
- 3:30quicker, leading you to getting better
- 3:32results. But if you guys have any
- 3:33questions about pixel learning phase or
- 3:35attribution windows, feel free to let me
- 3:36know in the comments, and I'll be sure
- 3:38to respond to those. But let's get into
- 3:39the strategy itself. So, let's first
- 3:41start with a breakdown and then I'll
- 3:42show you step by step how to launch
- 3:43this. So, we're going to be running a
- 3:44manual CBO campaign. Now, I prefer CBO
- 3:47because I want the platform to tell me
- 3:49which creative is the best. It's
- 3:50efficient and effective and it saves
- 3:52time. Now, next inside of this campaign,
- 3:55I'm going to have anywhere from three to
- 3:57five different adets. All these adsets
- 3:59are going to be completely broad, but
- 4:01with manual placements. Now, the reason
- 4:02I do manual placements is because Meta
- 4:04has a whole lot of different placements
- 4:06that aren't really that effective. The
- 4:07ones that really drive sales from my
- 4:09experience are feed, story, and reels.
- 4:11So, what we're going to do with manual
- 4:13placements is go Instagram and Facebook
- 4:15feed, story, and reels. Inside each ad
- 4:17set, there's going to be one unique
- 4:19creative. So, if we have three different
- 4:21adsets, there's going to be one ad
- 4:23inside of each. Now, each creative that
- 4:25we make is going to have a different
- 4:26angle on it, meaning it's going to have
- 4:28different messaging. So, a quick recap.
- 4:30We're going to be running a manual CBO
- 4:32campaign with anywhere from three to
- 4:34five broad ad sets, but with manual
- 4:36placements, Instagram and Facebook feed,
- 4:38story, and reels. And then inside of
- 4:40each adset, there's going to be one
- 4:42unique creative with its own angle. So,
- 4:45to set this up, the first thing you want
- 4:46to do is go to your meta ad dashboard
- 4:48and then click create. And then you want
- 4:50to click sales and then click continue.
- 4:52Now, starting at the very top for
- 4:54campaign name, you want to give your
- 4:55campaign a name, something that's easily
- 4:56recognizable. What I like to do is give
- 4:58it the date, followed by the product,
- 5:00followed by the targeting, which is
- 5:01broad, followed by the creative set. So,
- 5:04what I mean by creative set is this.
- 5:06We're using three different creatives,
- 5:07all with unique angles, but I made them
- 5:09in a batch. So, this is just creative
- 5:10set one. This is how I recognize my
- 5:12creatives cuz that's the only real
- 5:14difference inside of this specific
- 5:16campaign is just the creatives. So, now
- 5:18moving down to budget, what we want to
- 5:19do is make sure that campaign budget is
- 5:21selected, which it should be
- 5:22pre-selected. Then we want to set a
- 5:23daily budget of anywhere from $50
- 5:25minimum to $100 a day. I personally
- 5:28recommend starting out with about $100
- 5:30per day. However, $50 a day will work as
- 5:32well. Then once you have this set up,
- 5:34the campaign name and the budget, then
- 5:35you want to go ahead and click next.
- 5:37Now, we're going to be inside the adset
- 5:38level of the campaign. If you look over
- 5:40here on the left, you can easily
- 5:41identify that you're in the adset level
- 5:42simply just by looking at the icon. The
- 5:44four squares means adset. The website
- 5:46icon right here means ad, and the folder
- 5:48means campaign. And another simple way
- 5:50to look at this if you ever get confused
- 5:51is look at your campaign like a garage.
- 5:53Look at the adset sort of like the
- 5:55engine of the vehicle that's sitting
- 5:56inside of the garage because this is
- 5:58where because this is what actually
- 5:59makes the campaign do something. And
- 6:02then look at the ad like the exterior of
- 6:04the car because that's what the customer
- 6:06will only see. So for the adset name,
- 6:08remember we're going to keep this all
- 6:09broad. So the only thing that we need to
- 6:11do to identify what this adset is is by
- 6:13the creative. So name this whatever your
- 6:16creative is or something that's easily
- 6:17identifiable for you. Next, under
- 6:19conversion, what we want to do is make
- 6:21sure that our performance goal is set to
- 6:22maximum number of conversions. And then
- 6:25you want to choose your data set. And
- 6:26this is your pixel. So, make sure that
- 6:28your pixel is selected. And then for
- 6:30conversion event, this is where we want
- 6:32to choose our purchase event. And we
- 6:34always want to choose purchase event. We
- 6:36don't want to choose anything else, only
- 6:37purchase. Next, we want to move down to
- 6:39budget and schedule. And what we want to
- 6:42do is schedule for the following day at
- 6:43midnight. That way, we can spend our
- 6:45budget evenly throughout the day and we
- 6:47get a fair test. Now, moving down to
- 6:49audience, you're going to notice that
- 6:50Advantage Plus is on. So, what we're
- 6:52going to do here is just click further
- 6:53limit the reach of your ads and then
- 6:55click switch setup. Now, from here,
- 6:57you're going to notice that this is
- 6:58still on. And this is no big deal
- 7:00because once we change our placements,
- 7:01then our campaign will go from an
- 7:03advantage plus campaign to a manual CBO
- 7:05campaign. So, for here, we're not going
- 7:07to do anything. We don't need to do any
- 7:08targeting because remember, all the
- 7:10adsets inside of this campaign are going
- 7:11to be completely broad. So, now we're
- 7:13going to move down to placement. And
- 7:14what we want to do here is click show
- 7:15more settings. And then underneath
- 7:17placement controls, what we're going to
- 7:18do is deselect instream ads. We're going
- 7:21to deselect search and then we're going
- 7:23to deselect apps and site. Then we're
- 7:25going to open up feed and we're just
- 7:27going to click this check box up here to
- 7:28remove everything. And then we're going
- 7:29to manually select Facebook feed,
- 7:31Instagram feed. And then what we're
- 7:32going to do is close that. Then open up
- 7:34story and reels and do the same thing
- 7:35here. Click the check to deselect
- 7:37everything. And then manually select
- 7:38Instagram stories, Facebook stories,
- 7:40Instagram reels, and Facebook reels. And
- 7:43that is all you need to do inside of the
- 7:44adset level. So, let me give you a quick
- 7:46recap starting at the very top. For your
- 7:47adset name, you want to name this your
- 7:49creative. Something that's easily
- 7:51recognizable because every single adset
- 7:52is going to be the exact same from this
- 7:54point on. The only thing that's
- 7:55different is going to be the creative
- 7:57itself that's living inside of the
- 7:58adset. Moving down to conversion, we
- 8:00want to make sure that website is
- 8:01selected. The performance goal is set to
- 8:03maximum number of conversions. The data
- 8:05set that is selected, which is our pixel
- 8:06for our store, our conversion event is
- 8:09purchase and only purchase. Then, moving
- 8:11down to budget and schedule. Our ads are
- 8:13scheduled to run at the following day at
- 8:15midnight. Then for audience, we're not
- 8:17going to do anything here. The only
- 8:19thing that we're going to do inside of
- 8:20this tab is actually switch the setup to
- 8:22a manual configuration. Then for
- 8:24placements is deselect every single
- 8:26placement except for Facebook feed,
- 8:27Instagram feed, Instagram story,
- 8:29Facebook story, Instagram reel, and
- 8:31Facebook reels. So if done correctly,
- 8:33you should see 18 out of 24 placements
- 8:35excluded right here. So with that being
- 8:37said, now we're done and we can move
- 8:39into the ad level. So click next.
- 8:40Starting on the ad level, the first
- 8:42thing that you want to do is make sure
- 8:43that your ad name is easily
- 8:45identifiable. So you can use the same ad
- 8:46name that you used on the adset name. In
- 8:48this case, we're going to use video one.
- 8:50Then you want to make sure that your
- 8:51Facebook page is selected. This is going
- 8:53to be your brand's identity. So go ahead
- 8:56and select that followed by Instagram
- 8:58account. If you have an Instagram
- 8:59account, go ahead and connect that here.
- 9:01If not, just select use Facebook page
- 9:03and that will show up as your page's
- 9:05identity. Then you're going to want to
- 9:06move down to ad setup and then you're
- 9:08going to want to select create ad and
- 9:11then select manual upload and then under
- 9:13format single image or video. And then
- 9:15lastly, you want to make sure that
- 9:17multi-advertiser ads is deselected. So
- 9:20this right here is my product page. I'm
- 9:22going to grab the URL here. And then I'm
- 9:24going to take this back to the meta ad
- 9:25library and paste this right here in
- 9:28website URL. Now we want to continue
- 9:30moving down. And for browser add-ons,
- 9:32make sure that none is selected. And
- 9:34then now for ad creative, this is where
- 9:36we're going to upload our creatives and
- 9:37write out our ad copy. So click setup
- 9:39creative. Then select video ad or if
- 9:41you're doing an image, feel free to
- 9:43select image. And from here, click edit
- 9:44and remove this source URL. You don't
- 9:46need this. It looks like you do, but you
- 9:48don't. Then move next to media. And this
- 9:51is where you're going to actually upload
- 9:52your creatives. So here we go. This is
- 9:54one creative here. And then we're going
- 9:56to select next. And then now we're going
- 9:58to write our copy. And for this, I had
- 10:00chat GPT help me out. I told it, "You're
- 10:02a world-class copywriter. write me copy
- 10:04for a wireless shaping bra for plus-siz
- 10:06women. And it gave me some examples
- 10:08here, but I told them to shorten it and
- 10:09also give me a call to action at the
- 10:11end. And it gave me this. And this is
- 10:12completely fine. So, we're going to copy
- 10:14this and move back to meta. And under
- 10:16our primary text, we're going to paste
- 10:17this. And then once our text is set up,
- 10:19we're then going to select next and move
- 10:21over to enhancements. And then we want
- 10:23to make sure that catalog items is
- 10:24deselected. However, you may not see
- 10:26this on yours, which is completely fine,
- 10:27but just make sure catalog items is off.
- 10:29But then text improvements, video
- 10:31filters, and expand video is on along
- 10:33with video touch-up and enhance CTA.
- 10:35Then click done, and you're going to see
- 10:37our ad pop up over here. Now, there is a
- 10:39few more things that we need to do for
- 10:40headline, which will show up right here
- 10:42next to the CTA button. We want to make
- 10:44the headline what our offer is. So, the
- 10:46text that chat GPT generated was just an
- 10:48example, but I'm going to roll with it.
- 10:50But make this what your offer is. So, in
- 10:51this case, I did 40% off today only. And
- 10:54then you want to add a description. Now,
- 10:56sometimes if your headline text is too
- 10:57long, you won't be able to see the
- 10:58description. But for the description, I
- 11:00just like to add some urgency, scarcity,
- 11:02or some trust. So, for here, loved by
- 11:0410,000 plus women. And then for call to
- 11:07action, we want to make this a shop now
- 11:09or get offer. I typically run with shop
- 11:12now though, but get offer does work as
- 11:13well. So, now that we have this done, we
- 11:14are all good to go. So, let me quickly
- 11:16recap. Starting at the very top with ad
- 11:18name, make this the same name as your ad
- 11:19set, just a unique identifier for the
- 11:22creative itself. Moving down to
- 11:24identity, make sure that your Facebook
- 11:25page is selected and make sure that
- 11:27Instagram account is linking to your
- 11:28Instagram account if you have one. But
- 11:30if not, that's okay. Use Facebook page.
- 11:32For ad setup, you want to do manual
- 11:34upload. For format, single image or
- 11:37video. Under destination, for website
- 11:39URL, you want to make sure that you're
- 11:41pasting your product page URL. Not your
- 11:43homepage, but your product page URL.
- 11:45Next, for browser add-ons, make sure
- 11:46that none is selected. Now, for ad
- 11:49creative, you want to make sure that
- 11:50your one video, that video one is
- 11:52uploaded. And under enhancements, you
- 11:54just want to make sure that everything
- 11:55is on except catalog items. And then you
- 11:58want to have your copy lined up along
- 12:00with your headline, which for headline,
- 12:02this should be what your offer is. And
- 12:04then for description, urgency, scarcity,
- 12:07trust works fine. And then lastly, for
- 12:09call to action, you want to make sure
- 12:10that shop now is done. You want to make
- 12:12sure that shop now is selected. And then
- 12:14from there, you're good to go. So now we
- 12:16can move on to the final step which is
- 12:17coming over here to the top left under
- 12:19the ads set level. Remember the four
- 12:21squares. You just want to click these
- 12:22three dots and then click duplicate. And
- 12:24you want to duplicate these two times
- 12:26and also deselect show existing
- 12:28reactions and comments on new ads. Now
- 12:30you see it created two unique copies.
- 12:32What we're going to do is select into
- 12:33one of these copies and then just change
- 12:35the adset name to video 2. And from here
- 12:37we're not going to change anything in
- 12:38here since we already set this up. It's
- 12:39already good to go. The only thing that
- 12:41we need to swap inside of this adset is
- 12:42the actual ad creative itself. So, after
- 12:45we change the name of the ad set, we're
- 12:46also going to do the same thing to the
- 12:47ad name. And then we're just going to
- 12:49come down here to edit media and we're
- 12:51going to change the video. So, again,
- 12:53click media and then choose your second
- 12:56video. And it's the same exact process.
- 12:58Click next. Click done. Make sure that
- 13:00all the enhancements are on except for
- 13:02add catalog items. Then click done. And
- 13:04then now your second ad set is set up.
- 13:06And now we need to move on to our third
- 13:08and final. Or if you're doing five, you
- 13:10would want to repeat this step for all
- 13:12of them. But in this case, we only have
- 13:13three creatives. So this is going to be
- 13:15video three on the adset name. Again, we
- 13:17don't need to change anything here
- 13:18because we're already set up. Then
- 13:19underneath the ad level, we want to go
- 13:20ahead and swap that as well. And then do
- 13:22the same thing. The only thing that
- 13:23we're going to swap here is the
- 13:25creative. So now, if you look over here
- 13:26on the left, you can see that we have
- 13:28three different adets. And inside each
- 13:30adset is one unique creative. So a quick
- 13:33recap on how we did that is we first set
- 13:34up our first ad set. A quick recap on
- 13:37how we did that is we set up our first
- 13:38ad set and then we set up our ad and
- 13:41then we duplicated it two more times to
- 13:43create two different copies. Then inside
- 13:45of each ad in the copies we just changed
- 13:47the video and then adjusted the actual
- 13:50ad set and ad name. And once you have
- 13:52that set up you are good to go. You can
- 13:55click publish and your campaign will be
- 13:57scheduled. So it should look something
- 13:59like this. On the campaign level right
- 14:01here you'll see your campaign set up.
- 14:02Then inside of the ads set level, you'll
- 14:04see your three different ad sets. And
- 14:06then inside of your ads, you'll see
- 14:08three different variations of ads. So
- 14:10this is exactly what we just set up. A
- 14:11manual CBO campaign with three different
- 14:13adsets. And inside each adset is one
- 14:16unique creative. Now from here, all
- 14:17you're going to do is let this run for
- 14:19about 2 to 3 days. And during these 2 to
- 14:21three days, you're going to be looking
- 14:22for three different things. Number one
- 14:24is sales. Number two is data on your
- 14:26dashboard. And then number three is
- 14:28which creative had the highest intent or
- 14:30which one performed the best. But now
- 14:31let's cover the outcomes. So you're
- 14:33either going to be in one of these two
- 14:34situations. Number one, you got sales.
- 14:36Or number two, you didn't get sales. So
- 14:38I put together four different
- 14:39hypotheticals to help you understand a
- 14:40little bit better what you should do in
- 14:42these unique situations. So hypothetical
- 14:44number one is you got no sales, but you
- 14:46have purchase intent. People are adding
- 14:48to cart, but they're not buying. This is
- 14:50a good sign. This means people want to
- 14:51buy your product, but there's something
- 14:52that's stopping them. So the solution to
- 14:54this is make sure that your markets,
- 14:56your shipping zones, your inventory, and
- 14:57your offer is set up properly. A quick
- 14:59little pro tip here is place a test
- 15:01order before you launch your campaign to
- 15:03avoid common errors like I just
- 15:04mentioned. And then number two, you're
- 15:06not in a rush. So verify that everything
- 15:08is set up properly before you launch.
- 15:10The next hypothetical is you have no
- 15:12sales, no purchase intent, low clicks,
- 15:14low CTR, and a very high CPC. And this
- 15:17is simply just an invalid test because
- 15:19there's not enough traffic going to your
- 15:20site. So this is a creative problem,
- 15:22hence the metric. So the solution to
- 15:24this is new creatives. Now, a pro tip
- 15:26for this is if you're lost on how to do
- 15:27this, look at what your competitors are
- 15:29doing. I personally like to voice memo
- 15:31their ads on my phone and then send the
- 15:32file to an AI transcriber and then have
- 15:35chat GPT break down the format of that
- 15:37ad script. So, essentially what I'm
- 15:39saying here is leverage AI to help you
- 15:41make better ad creatives. For
- 15:43hypothetical number three, you made
- 15:45sales but you're not profitable. Well,
- 15:47this isn't bad. There's demand, hence
- 15:49the intent in sales. So, what you could
- 15:50do here is add or maybe refine your
- 15:52digital offer bumps. add complimentary
- 15:55or best-selling products on
- 15:56post-purchase upselles. This will
- 15:58increase your average order value,
- 15:59hopefully making you more profitable.
- 16:01Pro tip, the if the offer is not
- 16:03working, we're not going to change it.
- 16:05Instead, let's optimize on the back end
- 16:07so it won't affect our test. So, this is
- 16:09why I said we want to add or refine our
- 16:11digital offer bumps because that has
- 16:12nothing to do with the price point of
- 16:13the product itself or add complimentary
- 16:16or our second and third best sellers on
- 16:18post-purchase upselles. Because when a
- 16:19customer sees that, they've already
- 16:21purchased, you've already gotten their
- 16:22money. We don't want to do anything that
- 16:23can change our control, which is our
- 16:25test itself. So, we only want to add
- 16:27these things on the back end where it
- 16:30has no impact on the front. So, to
- 16:31backtrack to get more profit, we just
- 16:33simply need to increase our average
- 16:34order value. And this can be done easily
- 16:36if you get your customers to buy one or
- 16:38two more items. Now, hypothetical number
- 16:40four is you made profitable sales. Now,
- 16:42that doesn't necessarily mean that you
- 16:43have a winning product just yet, but
- 16:44there's a good chance it may be a
- 16:46winner. So, there's three things that
- 16:47you need to do if you notice that you
- 16:48have profitable sales after 2 to 3 days.
- 16:50Number one, optimize post purchase for
- 16:53maximum AOV. This is going to allow you
- 16:55to make more profit on the front end to
- 16:57continue scaling further. Number two is
- 16:59you need to do a creative deep dive and
- 17:01understand which winning angles perform
- 17:02the best. And number three, you need to
- 17:04do a soft breakdown of the demographic
- 17:06on the platform. And I wanted to give a
- 17:07quick warning here. Number one, don't
- 17:09rush into scaling your testing. A lot of
- 17:11beginners oftent times will see
- 17:12profitable sales on day one and start
- 17:14increasing the budget significantly,
- 17:16which will then lead to something
- 17:17breaking. Number two, your results may
- 17:19fluctuate on day three, day four, day
- 17:21five, and so on. The following days
- 17:23aren't promised winners like today is.
- 17:25So, this is why we're not rushing to
- 17:26scale because the results may fluctuate.
- 17:28And this goes back to what I was
- 17:29previously mentioning with pixel
- 17:31learning phase and also attribution
- 17:32windows. Now, before we continue to the
- 17:34final step, I want to show you two
- 17:35things. How to actually see your
- 17:37purchase intent on your dashboard and
- 17:38then also how to hit a breakdown. So, to
- 17:40see your purchase intent, you want to
- 17:41click on columns and then you want to
- 17:43select customize columns and then you
- 17:44want to search add to cart. And then
- 17:46once you have add to cart selected, you
- 17:48want to deselect inapp and you want to
- 17:49deselect offline add to carts. And then
- 17:51you want to deselect meta ad to carts.
- 17:53And then you want to search checkouts
- 17:54initiated and select this. And then
- 17:56under total, you want to deselect
- 17:58everything again except for website
- 18:00checkouts initiated. And then from
- 18:01there, you may want to move these up in
- 18:03your column so they show up over here.
- 18:04But we're just going to click apply. And
- 18:06then you're able to see the number of
- 18:07checkouts initiated and the number of
- 18:09add toarts initiated there so you can
- 18:10start to measure the purchase intent. I
- 18:12would recommend saving this column as a
- 18:14preset. That way you have it. And then
- 18:15lastly, to look at your breakdown, to
- 18:17the right of columns, you're going to
- 18:18see breakdown. From here, you're going
- 18:19to be able to seg your data by certain
- 18:21views. So, for example, age. If we want
- 18:23to get an idea of what the age of people
- 18:25who are buying is, we select age. And
- 18:27since this campaign is not live, we
- 18:28can't see anything, but it would show us
- 18:30different age groups. 18 to 24, 25 to
- 18:3234, 35 through 44, 45 through 54, 55 to
- 18:3664, 65 plus. That way, we get an idea of
- 18:38what our most profitable demographic is
- 18:40and which demo is responsible for the
- 18:42most sales. And we can do the same thing
- 18:44with placement to understand which
- 18:45placement is performing the best, which
- 18:47platform is performing the best, which
- 18:49gender is performing the best, and maybe
- 18:51which country is performing the best if
- 18:52you're targeting different countries.
- 18:53That's important data to know moving
- 18:55forward. To wrap this up, I want to
- 18:56cover one more thing. The entire purpose
- 18:58of this test is to simply test. We want
- 19:00to understand number one, is the product
- 19:02valid? Number two, is the offer valid.
- 19:04And number three is who is buying and
- 19:05what are they buying for? What is the
- 19:07reason? This is what needs to be built
- 19:08on later in order to achieve a
- 19:10sustainable scale. So let's say for
- 19:12example that we ran this CBO campaign
- 19:14for three days and this was the outcome.
- 19:17Adset number one didn't get any spend
- 19:19because the CBO is going to allocate the
- 19:21budget towards the ads set and the ad
- 19:22that was performing the best. So let's
- 19:24say ads set one got no spend. Ads set
- 19:26two got a little bit of spend but adset
- 19:283 was the one that got the majority of
- 19:29the spend and it also got purchases that
- 19:31were profitable. And also if you look
- 19:33underneath the ads you can also see that
- 19:34I gave unique angles for them. Just food
- 19:36for thought here that you can maybe use
- 19:38to get creative. Uh, so an us versus
- 19:40them angle. So again, let's assume that
- 19:42we're selling a shaping bra. So we could
- 19:44compare us to skims or compare on the
- 19:46price point. Uh, for ad two, I did
- 19:48curvier women with larger breasts. And
- 19:50then number three was like maybe older
- 19:51women that are experiencing loss of
- 19:52firmness and loss of natural lift in
- 19:54their breast. But let's say that was the
- 19:56winning ads set and this was the winning
- 19:57angle. Now we have an idea of what our
- 19:59winning angle is based off our data.
- 20:01Older women who are experiencing loss of
- 20:03firmness/natural lift. Now what we can
- 20:04do from here is start curating new
- 20:06messaging around this for future ads.
- 20:08That being number one, specific call
- 20:10outs, different pain points and problems
- 20:12that people experience that have that
- 20:13issue. Number two, a direct ICP or ideal
- 20:16customer profile call out, gender, age.
- 20:19Number three, mirroring in ads.
- 20:20Mirroring essentially just means making
- 20:22sure that the creator is very similar to
- 20:24who your actual customer is. Now, a
- 20:26quick pro tip for this is number one,
- 20:27keep your testing campaign live and let
- 20:28it continue to run. It's going to
- 20:30continue to collect more data and it's
- 20:31going to exit learning and help season
- 20:33your pixel some more. Number two, if you
- 20:35hadn't done so already, add a
- 20:36post-purchase survey to know exactly why
- 20:38your customers are buying. I like to use
- 20:40no commerce for this. And then number
- 20:41three, leverage chat GPT for angles or
- 20:44competitor reviews. This can be
- 20:46anywhere. This can be your exact product
- 20:48that another person is selling. You can
- 20:49look at their reviews. You can even go
- 20:51on Amazon, maybe see if your product's
- 20:52on there. And if it's not, maybe a
- 20:54product that's very similar that solves
- 20:55the exact problem. And lastly, Reddit.
- 20:58There's tons of different subreddits on
- 20:59every single painoint that you can
- 21:01imagine. So, you're going to use this to
- 21:03educate yourself more on the problem and
- 21:04the solution and who the ideal customer
- 21:06profile actually is. At this point, you
- 21:08should have a good idea of how to
- 21:10properly set up an efficient meta ads
- 21:12test. And you should also be able to see
- 21:14the foundation that this is built on.
- 21:16It's not only identifying that the
- 21:18product is number one valid and then
- 21:19number two the offer is valid, but most
- 21:21importantly which creative angles are
- 21:24performing the best and then gathering
- 21:25the data not only on dashboard but also
- 21:27from post-p purchase survey to refine
- 21:29your messaging to curate better ads that
- 21:31are hyperargeted around who is actually
- 21:33buying now that you know who is. This is
- 21:36the foundational way to set up an
- 21:38efficient and effective test that can
- 21:39scale into the six and seven figure
