- 0:00We are here in Lithuania and I have the
- 0:04biggest battle ahead of me yet. This
- 0:07time I have pressure from above and
- 0:10pressure from below. I am competing
- 0:12against Nathaniel Messiah, Emil Norling,
- 0:15and Anatoly. I'm competing against
- 0:18Anthony McNaughton.
- 0:20A lot of guys I really admire and I
- 0:23really like in this sport, but I'm so
- 0:26ready to hopefully bring the best
- 0:28version of myself yet. And I feel like
- 0:31things has started to go my way this
- 0:34prep, but we'll see and we'll find out
- 0:38on the 18th of June
- 0:41here in Lithuania at the IPF World
- 0:44Championships 2026.
- 0:47Okay, so usually I'm not very good at
- 0:51showcasing my diet and I don't know. I
- 0:54don't find it very interesting. I just
- 0:56eat, I go about my day, I do
- 0:58what I'm used to doing, right? Sometimes
- 1:01I eat mom's home cooking, sometimes I do
- 1:02this, but we're at a competition now.
- 1:06And I wanted to take you guys through my
- 1:09competition diet and the thought I have
- 1:12going into the weight loss I got to do
- 1:15to get into my weight class because
- 1:17right now I am 108 kilos, so that means
- 1:22I got to drop 3 kilos-ish and this is
- 1:25how we do it. I'm going to present to
- 1:27you the food.
- 1:30So, just to take you guys through it.
- 1:32Today is pretty normal. I just got to
- 1:35make sure I get the right amount of
- 1:37carbs, the right amount of protein, the
- 1:39right amount of fats, and not too much
- 1:42sodium. Tomorrow we will initiate the
- 1:45gut cut, as we call it. So, tomorrow
- 1:48will be very very limited on what I'm
- 1:51getting and the most important part is
- 1:54that I hit my my
- 1:55I don't recommend or condone this. This
- 1:59is just what has been working for me.
- 2:01What I'm doing is that I do about two or
- 2:04three liters of juice as my main
- 2:07carbohydrate source. I make sure that
- 2:10there is low to no sodium in it. So,
- 2:13yeah, this is my main source of carbs.
- 2:16Then I have my main source of fats,
- 2:19which is
- 2:21cashew nuts.
- 2:22Uh not too exciting, but it gets the job
- 2:24done.
- 2:25Then I'm going to probably eat a little
- 2:28bit of chocolate because chocolate is
- 2:31very high in calories. It's very calorie
- 2:33dense. Just a little piece of chocolate
- 2:36has a lot of calories in it. Um and it
- 2:39doesn't weigh that much, so just to keep
- 2:40the the energy going and everything. And
- 2:43for my main protein source, I'm going to
- 2:45go with some whey protein powder. Just
- 2:47as simple as that, with some water. I'm
- 2:50probably also going to take some sauna
- 2:52to make weight. We still got to figure
- 2:54out the the complete plan before we
- 2:56initiate, but the most important thing
- 2:58is that we have the main things ready.
- 3:01So, that was for the gut cut. When I am
- 3:04on the platform, I like to say that I
- 3:07should eat the things I like to eat,
- 3:09right? And it has to be something with
- 3:11carbohydrates because you need that on
- 3:13the competition day when you need to go
- 3:15in and perform at your max.
- 3:18So, I need to make sure that all the
- 3:21liquids get back into my body, and I do
- 3:23that with electrolytes right here and an
- 3:26electrolyte drink right here.
- 3:29And then [snorts]
- 3:30one of my favorite things to do at a
- 3:32competition is get some toast bread,
- 3:35get a peanut butter, get a Nutella,
- 3:38and get some bananas. And then I make
- 3:40sandwiches because that tastes [ __ ]
- 3:43amazing. And I can always eat that. Then
- 3:46for tomorrow, we have a special edition.
- 3:49The Japanese national team gave me this
- 3:52treat, so I'm pretty sure if I eat this
- 3:54at the competition, uh this will give me
- 3:57a great piece of luck. So, I'm
- 4:00definitely going to save this
- 4:02for when I'm in the zone and when I am
- 4:05competing.
- 4:06I'm just going to go in with some very,
- 4:08very simple carbohydrates like sugars.
- 4:11Uh just make sure that I always spike my
- 4:14blood sugar. This is just to get an
- 4:16overview of how I structure my diet
- 4:19around the competition. And this is only
- 4:22for competition purposes. But I hope
- 4:25this uh gave you a little bit more of a
- 4:27deep dive into how I manage uh my
- 4:31nutrition in terms of competition.
- 4:34We are on the day of the competition.
- 4:36And last night I made sure that my gut
- 4:39cut was uh [ __ ] functioning. And I
- 4:42watched some powerlifting and I chilled
- 4:44with my family, like I should. Today, I
- 4:47just got a sauna the rest of the way. I
- 4:49woke up at around 106 kilos, so uh I had
- 4:53a
- 4:545 uh hour time cap to make weight. And 1
- 4:59kilo in 5 hours, that's not too bad.
- 5:01Probably lose the most of it naturally,
- 5:03but just to make sure I'll do a bit of
- 5:05sauna so I'm on point with the weight.
- 5:08But yeah, say hello Mr. Magnussen.
- 5:11>> How we doing?
- 5:13It's a cool camera, actually.
- 5:14>> You You don't know the the Osmo?
- 5:16The Osmo pocket.
- 5:18No, okay. Well, why are you here? Can I
- 5:21ask you a couple of questions? Yeah,
- 5:22okay. So, you're the big favorite in our
- 5:24class. That That makes sense. How are
- 5:26you feeling for today?
- 5:27>> Feeling pretty good.
- 5:29Um obviously we know that numbers don't
- 5:30mean anything, so you just got to show
- 5:32up, you know? And that's what we're
- 5:33doing today. Um I don't like to listen
- 5:36to the outside statistics cuz I was as
- 5:37you've seen plenty of times, you know,
- 5:39things could happen, so just showing up
- 5:41sharp today, as sharp as you can. That's
- 5:43all That's all I can control.
- 5:46>> Uh in my heart I'm a little bit of a
- 5:48McLauren fanboy. So, I I'm I'm I'm I
- 5:50believe in you. Like I don't I'm I'm
- 5:53I even told a lot of people, I'm like,
- 5:55"Well, it would be unrealistic to go for
- 5:57first because McLauren is here." But but
- 6:00still, it's like it's it's a balance,
- 6:02right? Because you want to be hungry.
- 6:03You want to go for the first place.
- 6:05That's why we're all here. But still,
- 6:06like realism is like when you're this
- 6:08good and you have showcased this much
- 6:11potential, I I I believe that you can do
- 6:13more like we've talked about in the DMs
- 6:15and stuff. Your road to a thousand. I'm
- 6:17I'm a little bit younger than you and I
- 6:19still have stuff to work on. But I also
- 6:21believe in myself that one day
- 6:24uh I'm like Kobalely.
- 6:25>> Yeah.
- 6:26>> Yeah, man.
- 6:26>> Maybe today. Who knows? We'll find out.
- 6:30What lift are you most excited about?
- 6:32>> I'd probably have to say squats.
- 6:35>> Yeah, I thought so. But thank you,
- 6:37brother. I'll see you at the comp later.
- 6:39>> See you at the comp later.
- 6:41>> Ladies and gentlemen, you heard it
- 6:42yourself. We got to lock in.
- 6:47I'm 1 hour out from the competition and
- 6:50I'm just so [ __ ] excited to lift some
- 6:52heavy weight. Like
- 6:54I'm sitting here doing
- 6:56all my refeed, like all the waters,
- 6:59fluids, carbohydrates. And I I can't
- 7:02wait to go into the platform and just
- 7:05lift heavy. Yeah. Feel like I need to
- 7:07get back into that mindset where I'm
- 7:09like I lift heavy because I enjoy it,
- 7:11not because of podium placements.
- 7:14Think I'll be able to bring that today
- 7:16and with that bring a good result. So,
- 7:18uh
- 7:19I love you guys.
- 7:20See you in there.
- 7:24>> Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
- 7:25Welcome back.
- 7:28>> Come on, pal.
- 7:44Come on.

- 12:41Cactus, Denmark.

- 13:22Brakken. He's pushing and pulling for
- 13:25the
- 13:25podium for
- 13:26>> [cheering]

- 13:28>> [screaming]

- 15:00>> Majid is personal best at 232.5

- 15:12Majid is personal best at 375 from
- 15:15Sweden, and it's Emil Norling against
- 15:17deadlift bronze.

- 15:22>> You know, that was a deadlift PB for

- 16:58world champion.
- 17:01>> [applause]
- 17:10>> Ladies and gentlemen,
- 17:12worlds is officially wrapped up. I have
- 17:16a couple of things [snorts] I want to
- 17:18say to my performance and how stuff went
- 17:22down. First of all, I'm very grateful to
- 17:25you all, to all of those who has been
- 17:28supporting me throughout this journey
- 17:30and to all of those who has been
- 17:32believing me this whole time I've been
- 17:36doing powerlifting.
- 17:38I came out as a junior. Nobody knew me
- 17:42pretty much in the powerlifting world,
- 17:43became a world champion
- 17:45and made sure to defend my title against
- 17:49Nathaniel the year after.
- 17:52And now we're in the open.
- 17:55I am 24 now, so we're going to compete
- 17:59in the open from now on. From From
- 18:02always. It It doesn't even It's not even
- 18:05open anymore. It's just
- 18:07It's just worlds, right? [laughter]
- 18:09Because before it was junior worlds, now
- 18:11it's just worlds, right? Yesterday
- 18:15I ended up with a total of 935
- 18:20and that was a personal best. It doesn't
- 18:23matter which weight class I compete in.
- 18:25It doesn't matter
- 18:27what I did in prior. It's the best
- 18:29version of Reagan Stagaakis I've ever
- 18:32seen.
- 18:33And the guys who have been watching
- 18:36YouTube for a long time know that I'm
- 18:38all about the it's you versus you
- 18:40mindset, the self versus self. And I
- 18:43feel like we did something this time. I
- 18:45I was able to beat myself. I was able to
- 18:48come in and do some really, really good
- 18:51results. And I'm not going to lie, after
- 18:55that third back squat got red lighted
- 18:57and I didn't get it, I was
- 19:01a bit bummed because I knew that was
- 19:03going to affect my total result at the
- 19:07end. Because going into this, I thought
- 19:10the maximum I had in me was what I did
- 19:13at Euros, the 75. I did something that I
- 19:17barely believed in. Like
- 19:19it was it was total confusion because
- 19:22first the Danish coaches sent me in on
- 19:27377
- 19:29and 1/2 and that was 2 and 1/2 kilos
- 19:31more than I've ever pulled before.
- 19:34And then I went in on the platform and I
- 19:37was like, "Why Why does it say attempt
- 19:39change?" And then they called me and
- 19:41they were like, "Oh, you need to get
- 19:42out. You need to get out." And I got out
- 19:46and they were like, "Reagan, you're
- 19:48pulling for bronze."
- 19:50And this time around, I was like
- 19:53"Okay,
- 19:54I'm pulling for bronze."
- 19:56And I knew that I couldn't let you guys
- 19:59down. I knew that I couldn't let my
- 20:01family down.
- 20:02Um I knew that I couldn't let the people
- 20:05who came and supported me, Cielos down,
- 20:07and Daniel down.
- 20:09I don't know which mode I went into. I
- 20:11just pulled for everything. I just went
- 20:14with everything I had.
- 20:16Uh
- 20:17tried to pull like I do in training and
- 20:19I think that's that's really good. When
- 20:22you're just able to lock in as you are
- 20:25in training,
- 20:26that's that's precious, you know?
- 20:30So I ended up pulling 382
- 20:34and 1/2, which was officially the
- 20:37heaviest deadlift ever done in
- 20:40Denmark's history.
- 20:42Um it tied me for first, technically,
- 20:45but Nathaniel won over me in body
- 20:48weight. Hey,
- 20:49Nathaniel.
- 20:51>> [laughter]
- 20:52>> I love you, brother.
- 20:53But yeah,
- 20:54um
- 20:55I am really satisfied
- 20:58with the results,
- 21:01but I'm so hungry for more. Like I've
- 21:04what even when I say it now,
- 21:06I I I don't think I even understand how
- 21:08much I I want this. It is
- 21:12It's hard to encapsulate in in words,
- 21:15but I want to keep on this journey
- 21:18because
- 21:20not only is powerlifting giving me so
- 21:23much, you guys are are giving me so many
- 21:27opportunities. Like my family and you
- 21:30guys are the reason I keep on pushing
- 21:33boundaries of what I can do. And it's
- 21:37ridiculous, right? Because the thing I
- 21:39did to to yesterday, well, it's
- 21:42technically when you watch it. The The
- 21:44thing I did today
- 21:47would really have put me in
- 21:50a good position.
- 21:52If we look back as
- 21:55far as 2024,
- 21:57because I remember that Ashton Roushka
- 22:01and Anatoliy was battling for 940.
- 22:05And I did 935,
- 22:07and I think this was a mediocre day. It
- 22:11showed a little bit of what my potential
- 22:13really was.
- 22:15I'm just very happy and fortunate to be
- 22:18in this position.
- 22:19And I just want you to know that I am
- 22:22willing to get better, to get as close
- 22:24to that first spot
- 22:26that I can. I just want to spend this
- 22:29time enjoying this with my friends and
- 22:31family. And uh
- 22:34I really hope that you enjoyed this
- 22:36video, and
- 22:38you will support me for the next one.
- 22:43Thank you.
- 22:44Bye.
