Full transcript
- 0:00Hey Alex, I need your advice,
- 0:02desperately. 18, medical school. Don't
- 0:05feel like I belong here. Magnetized
- 0:08towards entrepreneurship.
- 0:11>> Okay, then leave, dude.
- 0:13>> [laughter]
- 0:14>> I thought there was a question coming.
- 0:15Leave. Leave. So, I'll ask the question
- 0:18that you're not really asking, which is
- 0:19you're afraid of leaving because someone
- 0:22who's not you will make you feel bad for
- 0:24it. Because if it were only up to you,
- 0:26then you would leave.
- 0:28So, it means that there are other
- 0:29people's rewards or punishments that are
- 0:32basically acting as tipping the scale on
- 0:34your behavior. And so, my way of de-
- 0:37when I have something that I want and I
- 0:39am not doing it, I ask myself, who is
- 0:42influencing my behavior in a way that's
- 0:43aversive to my goals?
- 0:45And so, what's really interesting is
- 0:46that when you feel like you're you feel
- 0:48this tension where you're like, "Ah,
- 0:49this can I have conflicting priorities."
- 0:50Right? It's very normal. Right? I want
- 0:52to be really healthy. I also want to be
- 0:54a great dad. I also want to be a great
- 0:55spouse. I also be good for a community.
- 0:57I also be good for the environment. I
- 0:58also want to work on my personal growth.
- 1:00Right? I'm like,
- 1:01and I have to do all of that in in 12
- 1:03hours, right? Or whatever, however many
- 1:05hours you're awake.
- 1:07Well, they're conflicting priorities.
- 1:09I want to do right by me. I want to do
- 1:11right by my siblings. I want to do right
- 1:12by my parents. I want to do right by my
- 1:13friends. And they want different things.
- 1:16And so, at some point you have to decide
- 1:18a priority of reinforcers, meaning
- 1:22you might decide that your family means
- 1:23more to you than your business, and that
- 1:25is okay. And you might decide that what
- 1:27you think about you means more than what
- 1:28your parents think about you.
- 1:31If you can get what you think about you
- 1:33and what your parents think about you to
- 1:34be aligned, you won't have any
- 1:35hesitation. But when there's conflict,
- 1:37one of them has to win.
- 1:39And I would encourage you to do the one
- 1:41who's going to be with you the longest,
- 1:42which is you. If you like this video and
- 1:44you're business owner who wants to break
- 1:45through your current revenue ceiling, I
- 1:46just filled every lesson from scaling 10
- 1:48businesses past 10 million and three
- 1:50businesses past 100 million into a
- 1:51completely free scaling roadmap that
- 1:53I've used to go from zero to one, zero
- 1:55to 10, and zero to 100 plus. And so, you
- 1:57can click here, and you can check it
- 1:58out. Again, absolutely free, and since
- 2:00you're a business owner, I appreciate
