  1. 0:00As far back as I can remember, I've
  2. 0:01always loved power systems. Whether it
  3. 0:03be my introduction to powers through
  4. 0:05fantasy cartoons and movies as a child,
  5. 0:07or understanding the inner workings of
  6. 0:08an anime system like Ned, powers simply
  7. 0:10never cease to amaze me. But more than
  8. 0:12the powers themselves, I've always been
  9. 0:14fascinated by the systems that are the
  10. 0:15foundation for said powers. Cursed
  11. 0:17energy works so well in JK. Not just
  12. 0:19because it's some random ability that
  13. 0:20makes people stronger, but because it
  14. 0:22has rules and structures that make those
  15. 0:23powers so much more interesting to learn
  16. 0:24about. Same thing with quirks in MHA,
  17. 0:26stands and Jojo's, alchemy and full
  18. 0:28metal alchemists, and especially Nen,
  19. 0:30being able to do these flashy cool moves
  20. 0:31is something that I've always dreamed
  21. 0:33of. And while I may never actually be
  22. 0:34able to have powers of my own, something
  23. 0:36I thought that I could absolutely do is
  24. 0:37make my very own power system. I wanted
  25. 0:39to take my favorite parts of all the
  26. 0:40power systems that I know and love and
  27. 0:42morph them into something that was
  28. 0:43unique to me. In my opinion, Nen is the
  29. 0:45perfect power system, and I wanted to
  30. 0:47find something to differentiate myself
  31. 0:48from that, but still keep the core
  32. 0:50elements of what make Nen so amazing.
  33. 0:51Without going into a whole monologue
  34. 0:53about Nen, basically what makes it so
  35. 0:54unique is how it lets users create their
  36. 0:56own abilities. You can mix and match
  37. 0:58different elements of Nen to craft a
  38. 0:59power perfectly suited for your special
  39. 1:01affinity and fighting style, which is
  40. 1:02something I really wanted to emphasize
  41. 1:04in my system. And after thinking about
  42. 1:05it for a while, it finally hit me. I
  43. 1:07wanted to make a summoning based power
  44. 1:09system with spiritual and divine themes
  45. 1:10without sacrificing the individuality
  46. 1:12that makes my favorite system so
  47. 1:14amazing. I also just quickly wanted to
  48. 1:15mention that I've taken a lot of
  49. 1:16inspiration from this creator's video
  50. 1:18while making my own. So, if you'all
  51. 1:19enjoy this video, I'd absolutely
  52. 1:21recommend you go and check out his
  53. 1:22video, too. So, I'll put his link in the
  54. 1:24description. But with that said, let's
  55. 1:25get right into it. So, like I said, my
  56. 1:27system is going to be entirely summon
  57. 1:29based. By that, I mean that every single
  58. 1:30power in this world must be a physical
  59. 1:32summon, but those summons themselves can
  60. 1:34have different abilities depending on
  61. 1:35what they are. These summons are called
  62. 1:37constructs, and they're the physical
  63. 1:38manifestations of users channeling the
  64. 1:40power of the seven gods known as the
  65. 1:41totems. Imagine something like Jiu-Jitsu
  66. 1:43Kaisen, where cursed techniques are just
  67. 1:45ingrained into someone's soul. There's
  68. 1:46nothing actually physical needed for
  69. 1:48that technique. But now imagine
  70. 1:49something like Karapikica's judgment
  71. 1:51chain in Hunter Hunter. It's a
  72. 1:52physically summoned weapon, but it has
  73. 1:53unique abilities thanks to Nen. And
  74. 1:55that's essentially what constructs are.
  75. 1:57Now for the totems themselves, each one
  76. 1:58has different powers. So if you channel
  77. 2:00the power of one totem, you might create
  78. 2:02a crown that heightens senses and brain
  79. 2:03processing. Or maybe instead you'll make
  80. 2:05a barrier that repels enemy attacks. As
  81. 2:07long as the construct that you summon
  82. 2:08relates to the power of the totem it
  83. 2:10corresponds with, the only thing
  84. 2:11limiting a user from creating it is
  85. 2:13imagination and power. Now, as for the
  86. 2:15seven unique totems, the roster consists
  87. 2:16of Avishar, the totem of eternity,
  88. 2:18Dormier, the totem of creation, Akins,
  89. 2:20the totem of freedom, Aegus, the totem
  90. 2:22of protection, Genesis, the totem of
  91. 2:24life, Varth, the totem of presence, and
  92. 2:26Maelstrom, the totem of destruction.
  93. 2:28Don't worry, you don't have to remember
  94. 2:29all these guys as I'll go over each one
  95. 2:31in detail later. But for now, just
  96. 2:32understand that each totem governs a
  97. 2:34certain aspect of reality. Now, to
  98. 2:36actually use the power of a totem, the
  99. 2:37first step is to actually have a
  100. 2:38connection with them. In this world, no
  101. 2:40one is born with any power, but it's not
  102. 2:42uncommon for people to feel a calling or
  103. 2:44natural affinity towards any number of
  104. 2:45totems. Kind of like how Nen has
  105. 2:47different categories that people fall
  106. 2:48into as a baseline, but they can still
  107. 2:50use the other categories. Many people
  108. 2:52might have a stronger connection with a
  109. 2:53certain totem right off the bat, but
  110. 2:54they can still choose to use the power
  111. 2:56of other totems instead. To even be able
  112. 2:58to use a totem's power, you must first
  113. 3:00have a seal. A seal is a magical symbol
  114. 3:02that corresponds to a specific totem.
  115. 3:03And as long as you are either touching a
  116. 3:05seal with your bare hands or have a seal
  117. 3:06engraved on your body, you can access
  118. 3:08that totem's power. So if you just want
  119. 3:10to test out other totems, touching a
  120. 3:11pre-made seal works totally fine. But
  121. 3:13most people end up getting tattoos or
  122. 3:15markings on their body of their
  123. 3:16preferred totem seal. The size and
  124. 3:17placement of these seals also matter
  125. 3:19quite a lot, as a small seal on the hand
  126. 3:21might be much better at making a glove
  127. 3:22or shortsord. But a large seal that
  128. 3:24covers up someone's back could be used
  129. 3:25to create a massive turtle shell that
  130. 3:26protects oneself and allies. You can
  131. 3:28also spread out multiple seals across
  132. 3:30the body, and they can all correspond to
  133. 3:31different totems as well. This is the
  134. 3:33largest point of contention when it
  135. 3:34comes to constructs. As by having more
  136. 3:36seals of different totems, you become
  137. 3:37increasingly versatile and can morph
  138. 3:39your totems powers together to create
  139. 3:41something completely unique. But when
  140. 3:42you spread your connection between
  141. 3:43multiple totems, the strength and power
  142. 3:45you receive from each totem weakens
  143. 3:46accordingly. That's why even though
  144. 3:48there's seven unique totems with all
  145. 3:49very useful powers, you'll find that
  146. 3:51most people only try and resonate with
  147. 3:52one or two. Now, to actually increase
  148. 3:54one's power, it's a pretty simple
  149. 3:55concept, but difficult in practice.
  150. 3:57There's two main ways to increase power.
  151. 3:59One is just constant physical training,
  152. 4:00like using your constructs often and
  153. 4:02trying to push their limits, and the
  154. 4:03other is spiritual connection. By this,
  155. 4:05I mean praying and worshiping of a totem
  156. 4:06to try and get a stronger metaphysical
  157. 4:08connection with them. It's not like
  158. 4:09either of these are inherently hard to
  159. 4:11do. It just takes a lot of persistence
  160. 4:12and time. Although, even those with
  161. 4:14immense power can still be outclassed by
  162. 4:16someone who is far more creative and
  163. 4:17tactical with their constructs, even if
  164. 4:19they don't have as much raw strength,
  165. 4:20which is something that I absolutely
  166. 4:21love about this system. I should also
  167. 4:23mention that many people don't try and
  168. 4:24use their constructs for insane power or
  169. 4:26anything. As since constructs can be
  170. 4:28used by anyone, they're a part of daily
  171. 4:29life. Some people make constructs to
  172. 4:31help with cooking and cleaning, while
  173. 4:32some make little inventions to solve
  174. 4:34simple problems, and others might use
  175. 4:35them for ease of travel. The
  176. 4:36possibilities are endless. And since
  177. 4:38technically anything can be instructed,
  178. 4:40not only are weapons, armor, and
  179. 4:41trinkets common, but artificial
  180. 4:43creatures and companions are pretty
  181. 4:44widespread, too. The level to which
  182. 4:46these creatures are autonomous,
  183. 4:47powerful, intelligent, and
  184. 4:48sophisticated, though all depend on the
  185. 4:50user's power. So, higher level creatures
  186. 4:52are generally more rare. Now, with the
  187. 4:53basics of the system covered, it's time
  188. 4:55I tell you a little bit more about the
  189. 4:56totems themselves. The totems are
  190. 4:58essentially the seven gods in this
  191. 4:59world, and each one is in charge of a
  192. 5:00certain aspect of reality. While these
  193. 5:02gods don't have real physical forms,
  194. 5:04people who are extremely connected with
  195. 5:05their totems have witnessed visions of
  196. 5:07them, and some have even had face to
  197. 5:08face encounters, albeit they're pretty
  198. 5:10rare. Through these visions, each totem
  199. 5:11has been described to take on a similar
  200. 5:13form when observed, which is often an
  201. 5:14ancient and legendary looking beast. I
  202. 5:16should also mention that there are good
  203. 5:18and evil people in this world. And while
  204. 5:19these gods are technically blessing
  205. 5:20people with their power, they don't
  206. 5:22usually discriminate depending on who's
  207. 5:23good or evil. Even though many of the
  208. 5:25totems do have a bias towards good, they
  209. 5:27often allow equal access of their powers
  210. 5:28without discrimination. Although if
  211. 5:30someone is generally more evil, their
  212. 5:31connection with the more benevolent
  213. 5:32totems may be weaker than others. As for
  214. 5:34each totem's power level, it's hard to
  215. 5:36say because each one of them is
  216. 5:37completely different than the other.
  217. 5:38It's not like any of them are blatantly
  218. 5:40the weakest or strongest. Some are just
  219. 5:42much better in certain situations than
  220. 5:43others. And that's why depending on your
  221. 5:45personality, environment, and goals for
  222. 5:47what you want your constructs to do,
  223. 5:48people pick which totem is right for
  224. 5:49them instead of the one that's just the
  225. 5:51most powerful. With that said, I think
  226. 5:53it's about time we get into each
  227. 5:54specific totem. And I think it's only
  228. 5:55fitting that we begin with the most
  229. 5:56mystical of them all. Avishar, the totem
  230. 5:58of eternity.
  231. 6:04Before anything else, there was
  232. 6:05Avishkar. He knows the beginning and end
  233. 6:07of all things and exists across every
  234. 6:09period of time all at once. Avishar has
  235. 6:11been described as a large whale-like
  236. 6:13figure with long wavy tendrils that
  237. 6:14appear to be made of many stars and
  238. 6:16galaxies. He's easily the most cosmicl
  239. 6:18looking of the totems. And while the
  240. 6:19totems don't really have an age, many
  241. 6:21believe that he existed before all the
  242. 6:22other totems came to be. Even with his
  243. 6:24mystical aura and seemingly insane
  244. 6:26power, Avishkar is not actually that
  245. 6:28common of a totem that people call on.
  246. 6:29Many of the totems are actually much
  247. 6:31better when it comes to everyday
  248. 6:32constructs, and Avishkar is only really
  249. 6:34used by a dedicated few. His reputation
  250. 6:36is no doubt incredibly large. But many
  251. 6:38find that Avishkar's blessing is a lot
  252. 6:40harder to use than you would expect.
  253. 6:41Since Avishkar deals with time, which is
  254. 6:43the one resource hardest to change,
  255. 6:45creating constructs that can do anything
  256. 6:46significant takes a lot of power. Some
  257. 6:48examples of constructs could be a bubble
  258. 6:50that slows time of anything inside of
  259. 6:51it, or maybe a crown that slows aging
  260. 6:53when worn. But to achieve these things,
  261. 6:55one must train very hard and have a very
  262. 6:56strong connection with Avishkar. This is
  263. 6:58why so many people who are vessels of
  264. 7:00Avishkar only really worship him alone
  265. 7:02as him and Genesis who is someone I'll
  266. 7:03mention later are incredibly hard to
  267. 7:05utilize with the other totems. So he's
  268. 7:07extremely powerful but with the
  269. 7:08trade-off of being very hard to use.
  270. 7:11[Music]
  271. 7:14Dere is the totem of creation and he's
  272. 7:16pretty much the exact opposite of
  273. 7:18Avishkar. Dere is the most commonly used
  274. 7:20totem as connecting with him is
  275. 7:21extremely easy. Dermier is a very
  276. 7:23benevolent totem and enjoys people using
  277. 7:25his power. And when he's seen in
  278. 7:26visions, he's often a very friendly
  279. 7:27individual. If you know anything about
  280. 7:29Or from League of Legends, I imagine he
  281. 7:31looks a bit like that, but with more
  282. 7:32gorilla-esque features and a jollier
  283. 7:34vibe. Being the totem of creation,
  284. 7:35Dormier's power is great for creating
  285. 7:37trinkets, inventions, tools, and all
  286. 7:39kinds of things that people use in their
  287. 7:41everyday life. Say something's broken,
  288. 7:42you need something to fix it. Dormir's
  289. 7:44inventions can help you whip up
  290. 7:45something instantly. Or maybe you just
  291. 7:47need to jot down something but forget
  292. 7:48your pen. Dormier lets you create a
  293. 7:49construct to fix that. The quality of
  294. 7:51life that his constructs add is
  295. 7:52unmatched. And that's why so many
  296. 7:54commoners have a seal, even if it's
  297. 7:55small. This is also a good time to clear
  298. 7:57something up, and it's that constructs
  299. 7:59don't last forever. After a construct is
  300. 8:01created, it must constantly be focused
  301. 8:02on to keep it up. You couldn't just make
  302. 8:04a house as a construct and leave it
  303. 8:05there. It'll go away if you don't focus
  304. 8:07on it. So, you can't use Dermier's power
  305. 8:08to make literally anything you want.
  306. 8:10But, you can make little robots or the
  307. 8:11tools to help you make what you need.
  308. 8:13Now, Dermier isn't only just used for
  309. 8:14small stuff, though. He's also great for
  310. 8:16large scale machinery and advanced
  311. 8:17companions. It just obviously takes more
  312. 8:19effort. So, not the most powerful in
  313. 8:20terms of raw combat utility, but
  314. 8:22insanely useful for everyday life.
  315. 8:28Aegus is the totem of protection and a
  316. 8:30very common totem amongst warriors and
  317. 8:32fighters. While the other totems are
  318. 8:33better at creating powerful attacks and
  319. 8:35weaponry, Aegus is by far the best for
  320. 8:37defense. Aegus has been described as a
  321. 8:39large round panda with golden accents
  322. 8:40running through his body. Aegis seems to
  323. 8:42exude this golden haze around him as
  324. 8:44well, and many who have had visions of
  325. 8:45him describe this as very comforting.
  326. 8:47Now, as the totem of protection, the
  327. 8:49constructs of Aegus tend to be quite
  328. 8:50simple in nature. They're just carried
  329. 8:52out with extreme power. Shields, walls,
  330. 8:54barricades, armor, or even small devices
  331. 8:56that can coat allies bodies in a layer
  332. 8:58of protection are very common uses.
  333. 9:00Oftent times, soldiers will train with
  334. 9:01multiple seals for Aegus across their
  335. 9:03body to maximize the amount of
  336. 9:04protection they can summon. Now, as the
  337. 9:06totem of protection, Aegus is also
  338. 9:07really good at making support tools. So
  339. 9:09those who command squads are usually
  340. 9:11proficient enough to create devices for
  341. 9:12other soldiers or civilians to use to
  342. 9:14protect themselves as long as they're
  343. 9:16focusing on the constructs. That is
  344. 9:17combination with other totems is
  345. 9:19something that Aegus is also really good
  346. 9:20at as people will often use Aegus to
  347. 9:22strengthen the structure of many other
  348. 9:23constructs from totems. Say you make a
  349. 9:25tool with Dormier that's usually quite
  350. 9:27fragile. By funneling the power of Aegus
  351. 9:28into that tool, you can make it much
  352. 9:30more durable than it was before. Or
  353. 9:31maybe you create a companion that's
  354. 9:33focused on speed and agility. Put a
  355. 9:34little Aegus into it and now it's much
  356. 9:36less of a glass cannon. Aegus can be the
  357. 9:37only thing that someone focuses on for
  358. 9:39an ironclad defense, but it can also be
  359. 9:41extremely versatile and have many
  360. 9:42different applications. So, in my
  361. 9:43opinion, Aegus is one of the most
  362. 9:45balanced totems in terms of combat
  363. 9:46utility.
  364. 9:52Atkins is the totem of freedom and a
  365. 9:54common pick amongst travelers,
  366. 9:55explorers, and fighters alike. As the
  367. 9:57totem of freedom, Atkins is all about
  368. 9:59movement and breaking down any barriers
  369. 10:00that might inhibit that. Those who have
  370. 10:02seen Atkins describe her as a massive
  371. 10:03sky blue and white bird, and despite her
  372. 10:05large wingspan, she seems to move with
  373. 10:07incredible speed. Everyone who's had an
  374. 10:09interaction with her claims that she's
  375. 10:10always moving around and has a pretty
  376. 10:11neutral personality. Now, being the
  377. 10:13totem of freedom, Atkins is used for a
  378. 10:15few things. Both commoners and warriors
  379. 10:17are often seen wearing some kind of
  380. 10:18armament, typically a pair of boots that
  381. 10:20grant enhanced speed and agility. But
  382. 10:21her powers aren't just about swiftness,
  383. 10:23as freedom is more than just physical.
  384. 10:25To be free is to not be restricted. So
  385. 10:27other constructs could be a cloak that
  386. 10:28let you pass through walls, gauntlets
  387. 10:30that let you break out of enemies
  388. 10:31control, or maybe a compass that points
  389. 10:33you wherever you want to go most. It's
  390. 10:34not just about movement, but being able
  391. 10:36to go, find, or do whatever you want
  392. 10:38without restriction is where Akins
  393. 10:39excels. Although the way one attains
  394. 10:41powers from Akins is much different than
  395. 10:42most totems. While the other six totems
  396. 10:44require at least some level of deep
  397. 10:46connection with them spiritually, to use
  398. 10:47Aken's power, one must only train hard.
  399. 10:49As Akins wants herself and others to be
  400. 10:51free, and a constant connection and
  401. 10:53worship is the exact opposite of that
  402. 10:54freedom. Overall, Atkins is a very
  403. 10:56useful totem across all kinds of people,
  404. 10:58but it's often used in conjunction with
  405. 10:59other totems as a supportive tool.
  406. 11:02[Music]
  407. 11:06Varth is the totem of presence, and in
  408. 11:08my opinion, he provides some of the most
  409. 11:09unique constructs of any totem. While
  410. 11:11every totem is great in their specific
  411. 11:12field, the range of abilities that Varth
  412. 11:14provides are quite vast. Varth has been
  413. 11:16described as a smaller gay wolf covered
  414. 11:18in old tattered rags, but others have
  415. 11:19said that he's much more hulking and
  416. 11:21powerful with piercing eyes. This is
  417. 11:22because as the totem of presence, Varth
  418. 11:24has the ability to completely transform
  419. 11:26the presence of anything. Now, that
  420. 11:27might sound confusing at first, but what
  421. 11:29I mean is that the constructs of VR are
  422. 11:31capable of concealing a user's presence,
  423. 11:32but also amplifying it. If you want to
  424. 11:34sneak into a topseker area, you could
  425. 11:36create a cloak that hides your presence
  426. 11:37and slip in undetected, while at the
  427. 11:39same time creating a clone of yourself
  428. 11:40as an alibi. Or maybe you want to
  429. 11:42amplify your presence on the
  430. 11:43battlefield, and you create a construct
  431. 11:44that blasts heavy waves of aura at your
  432. 11:46enemies, making them fearful. Or maybe
  433. 11:47even a whole army of clone soldiers.
  434. 11:49It's not just the physical changes with
  435. 11:51Vard, though. Using his contracts, he
  436. 11:52can also change the presence of other
  437. 11:54things as well. You can make a bow that
  438. 11:56doesn't follow the normal laws of
  439. 11:57physics as it bends around corners and
  440. 11:58walls, or maybe a trip wire in a
  441. 12:00building that alerts you when someone
  442. 12:01else's presence is nearby. Since
  443. 12:03everything technically has a presence,
  444. 12:04the amount of creative applications with
  445. 12:06this totem is very high, being great for
  446. 12:07rogues and mighty warriors alike. Varth
  447. 12:09isn't as common for regular people,
  448. 12:11though, due to him being a bit more
  449. 12:12controversial than some other totems due
  450. 12:14to his deceptive nature. But the ones
  451. 12:15who are truly committed to learning and
  452. 12:17mastering Var's power are a real force
  453. 12:18to be reckoned with.
  454. 12:24Genesis is the totem of life and another
  455. 12:26very incredibly common totem. She's by
  456. 12:28far the most benevolent totem and those
  457. 12:30who have witnessed her presence claimed
  458. 12:31that she looks like a human. She's been
  459. 12:33described as a taller elvish woman with
  460. 12:34golden green accents and a flowing dress
  461. 12:36seemingly made out of flowers and
  462. 12:37leaves. I mentioned earlier that Genesis
  463. 12:39was similar to Avishkar and that those
  464. 12:41who worship her usually worship her and
  465. 12:42her alone and that is true, but unlike
  466. 12:44Avishkar, practitioners of Genesis are
  467. 12:46all over the world. Genesis is primarily
  468. 12:48used for healing and medicine, but she
  469. 12:50also provides the ability to create
  470. 12:51anything commonly found in nature like
  471. 12:53trees, animal companions, bramble, all
  472. 12:55that kinds of stuff. Since Genesis is
  473. 12:57not a big fan of violence, she can also
  474. 12:59be used to create things like fields of
  475. 13:00flowers that soothe angry fighters, a
  476. 13:02roots to trap enemies in place. While
  477. 13:04every totem can be used for good or
  478. 13:05evil, someone with ill intentions will
  479. 13:07find it extremely hard to use the power
  480. 13:09of Genesis effectively. This is because
  481. 13:11to use the power of Genesis, you have to
  482. 13:12have an incredible connection with her,
  483. 13:14and many of her contracts require a very
  484. 13:15vast amount of energy. The combat
  485. 13:17constructs that I just mentioned can be
  486. 13:18used with about the same power level of
  487. 13:20many other totems. But to actually heal
  488. 13:22someone, which is the main draw of
  489. 13:23Genesis, it takes much more effort. Many
  490. 13:25healers spend their entire lives devoted
  491. 13:27to Genesis and helping as many people as
  492. 13:29they can. So, they're often only devoted
  493. 13:30to her and no one else to actually do
  494. 13:32the healing. There are all kinds of
  495. 13:34medicinal contracts like serums,
  496. 13:35companions that provide healing over
  497. 13:37time, gloves that radiate life energy,
  498. 13:38and all other kinds of things. Regular
  499. 13:40medicine and stationary equipment is
  500. 13:42used for traditional hospital-like
  501. 13:43treatments, while healing armaments or
  502. 13:45clothing enhancements are usually used
  503. 13:46on the battlefield for anything from
  504. 13:48quick fixes to life-saving procedures.
  505. 13:50Overall, Genesis is loved and adored by
  506. 13:52pretty much everyone, and the blessings
  507. 13:53that she provides are unlike any other
  508. 13:55totem.
  509. 13:57[Music]
  510. 14:00Finally, we have our last god,
  511. 14:01Maelstrom, the totem of destruction.
  512. 14:03Maelstrom is by far the most
  513. 14:04controversial totem. As while many other
  514. 14:06totems can be used for all kinds of
  515. 14:08things, Maelstrom is pure carnage. Those
  516. 14:10who have seen Maelstrom describe him as
  517. 14:11less of a physical being and more as
  518. 14:13calamity itself. He appears as a
  519. 14:15swirling swarm of thunder and lightning,
  520. 14:16but some have said that they were able
  521. 14:18to make out the outline of a bear
  522. 14:19standing in the center, covered in old
  523. 14:20scars and explosive looking energy
  524. 14:22coursing through his veins. Maelstrom is
  525. 14:24not common, and those who wield his
  526. 14:25power are usually quite hateful, plain
  527. 14:27stupid, or incredibly powerful. The
  528. 14:29reason for Maelstrom's lack of use is
  529. 14:31because while he does have the strongest
  530. 14:32attack potency, that attack power is not
  531. 14:34nearly as consistent or precise as the
  532. 14:36other totems. Say you want to create a
  533. 14:37lightning bolt to throw from your hand.
  534. 14:39If you're not skilled enough, that bolt
  535. 14:40could blow up in your hand and you lose
  536. 14:41all your fingers. Or maybe you want to
  537. 14:43try and fire a beam of energy from your
  538. 14:44chest. You could accidentally lose
  539. 14:46control and blow yourself up along with
  540. 14:47everything around you. This is why
  541. 14:48Maelstrom doesn't have many users, as
  542. 14:50the low-level villains of the world will
  543. 14:52often create their own demise when they
  544. 14:53use Maelstrom's power, and that scares
  545. 14:55off potential users. But it's not all
  546. 14:57evil. Those who are incredibly skilled
  547. 14:58can still use Maelstrom's power
  548. 14:59effectively. Maybe a user is creating a
  549. 15:01large construct with Dermier, but they
  550. 15:03want their creation to have a little
  551. 15:04more power. If they infuse, say, a large
  552. 15:06cannon with small amounts of Maelstrom's
  553. 15:07power, they can effectively increase its
  554. 15:09output. But you still have to be careful
  555. 15:10as too much power can backfire. So those
  556. 15:12at the highest peak of construction can
  557. 15:14make great use of Maelstrom, but to
  558. 15:15others, he's generally not a very common
  559. 15:17pick. So what do y'all think? I think I
  560. 15:19did a pretty good job at trying to cover
  561. 15:21all the aspects of reality and still
  562. 15:22make each totem feel balanced, but I'm
  563. 15:24still always open to new ideas. One of
  564. 15:26my biggest challenges when creating this
  565. 15:27system was Maelstrom, though, as I
  566. 15:29wanted to have a totem that was
  567. 15:30primarily for power. But I felt that if
  568. 15:32it was just enhanced strength, Maelstrom
  569. 15:33would just be the absolute strongest
  570. 15:34totem, and I didn't want him to feel
  571. 15:36like he was better than the rest. So, I
  572. 15:37tried to make Maelstrom's power a huge
  573. 15:39trade-off between control and power.
  574. 15:40Also, I mostly talked about the base of
  575. 15:42the system and the totems themselves.
  576. 15:44One thing that I really want the system
  577. 15:45to excel in is the combination of
  578. 15:46multiple totems. I've said that more
  579. 15:48than anything, I want the system to feel
  580. 15:50unique so that every person can apply
  581. 15:51their constructs in different ways.
  582. 15:53Whether that be mastering one or two
  583. 15:54totems to a level where users can
  584. 15:56perform feats like no one else can, or
  585. 15:57combining five or six to create a
  586. 15:58construct that no one else has ever
  587. 16:00thought of before. There's just so many
  588. 16:01cool things that I imagine could be
  589. 16:02possible with this system. Also, the
  590. 16:04placements of seals on the body is
  591. 16:05something that I also really love. Like
  592. 16:07imagine having seals of Aegus that take
  593. 16:09up someone's entire back for insane
  594. 16:10defense, but also having seals of Atkins
  595. 16:12on both ankles for movement, Dermier on
  596. 16:14the hands for easy creation, and Varth
  597. 16:15on the chest for tons of versatility.
  598. 16:17And that's just one idea for seal
  599. 16:18placements out of millions. So, if y'all
  600. 16:20enjoyed watching this video as much as I
  601. 16:21did making it, I'd love for youall to
  602. 16:23comment down below about what constructs
  603. 16:24you might make or how you would
  604. 16:25structure your seals. Also, if you guys
  605. 16:27have any ideas on how to improve this
  606. 16:28system or thoughts about what you liked
  607. 16:30or dislike about it, let me know as
  608. 16:31well. I'd appreciate all the feedback
  609. 16:32that I can get. With that said, that's
