  1. 0:00I've watched hundred, not hundreds, I've
  2. 0:01watched dozens of YouTube videos from
  3. 0:04large creators, small creators talking
  4. 0:06about this new YouTube monetization that
  5. 0:09hasn't even happened yet. Uh and they
  6. 0:11all have a few things in common and I
  7. 0:13want you to understand why it's
  8. 0:15happening.
  9. 0:16They all will talk about the doom and
  10. 0:18gloom, how the new monetization is going
  11. 0:22to ruin your life. It It is the worst
  12. 0:23thing since sliced bread. It is
  13. 0:25absolutely horrendous, fearful. They
  14. 0:28They want you to be afraid. And there's
  15. 0:30a few things that that are happening and
  16. 0:32if you spot it,
  17. 0:34you can start you you can If you spot
  18. 0:38it, you'll be a better creator first and
  19. 0:39foremost.
  20. 0:40They're
  21. 0:41These gurus are placing the blame on
  22. 0:43YouTube.
  23. 0:44Number one. That's that's one of the
  24. 0:47best marketing tactics out there. And in
  25. 0:50fact, I do it, full transparency.
  26. 0:53The The YouTube gurus are blaming
  27. 0:55YouTube. Me, I'm blaming the I'm blaming
  28. 0:57the gurus. So, we're we're all doing it
  29. 0:59here.
  30. 1:00Uh but more importantly,
  31. 1:02they don't actually have a solution.
  32. 1:05Or the solution is what you should be
  33. 1:07doing.
  34. 1:08Walk with me here.
  35. 1:10So, most of the videos start off like
  36. 1:12this.
  37. 1:13The YouTube creator fund is changing in
  38. 1:15February, so 6 months from now, and it
  39. 1:18spells trouble for small creators. It
  40. 1:20actually doesn't. Small creators will
  41. 1:22not be able to get monetized. It's
  42. 1:24harder, blah blah blah blah blah. It's
  43. 1:26all pretty much the same.
  44. 1:30Then they talk about how it's going to
  45. 1:31be terrible for creators, how they want
  46. 1:33you to fail, uh you won't you won't
  47. 1:35succeed. You're just going to be am
  48. 1:39endlessly making content.
  49. 1:41>> [snorts]
  50. 1:42>> Do you know what their solution is? Do
  51. 1:44they They want you, their solution
  52. 1:47usually is to buy their course or buy a
  53. 1:50course that they're recommending.
  54. 1:53So, what you should be doing is you
  55. 1:54should be doing what the gurus are
  56. 1:56telling you to do.
  57. 1:58You should be doing what the gurus are
  58. 1:59doing and not what they're telling you
  59. 2:00to do. And I've said this hundreds of
  60. 2:02times on this channel.
  61. 2:04The gurus are always two or three steps
  62. 2:06ahead
  63. 2:07of
  64. 2:09the people that are just behind them.
  65. 2:11Okay?
  66. 2:12So, do what the gurus are doing and not
  67. 2:14what they're telling you to do. The next
  68. 2:16video that you watch on YouTube
  69. 2:17monetization, this is what I want you to
  70. 2:18do.
  71. 2:19Look at and I got a mosquito bite right
  72. 2:21here.
  73. 2:22Look at Pause the video. Scroll down
  74. 2:26into the the description.
  75. 2:29Do they have a link?
  76. 2:31Because if they have a link that is
  77. 2:33sending you off of platform to something
  78. 2:35that they own and that they sell, that's
  79. 2:37how they make their money. And then full
  80. 2:39transparency, that's how I make my
  81. 2:41money.
  82. 2:42Sure, I get money from I make money from
  83. 2:44the YouTube Partner Program. It's not a
  84. 2:46lot.
  85. 2:47Uh not anymore.
  86. 2:49A large part of the money that I make is
  87. 2:51from the products and services that I
  88. 2:53sell on my own.
  89. 2:54Chances are most of the gurus that are
  90. 2:57telling you about, they're selling fear,
  91. 2:59they're selling a digital product. And
  92. 3:01that's what you should be doing. And
  93. 3:03once you realize that, you no longer
  94. 3:05care about the YouTube Partner Program.
  95. 3:07That's what I've got to get you to
  96. 3:09understand.
  97. 3:10I
  98. 3:12want you to stop thinking and focusing
  99. 3:14solely on the YouTube Partner Program
  100. 3:16because the metrics that they want you
  101. 3:18to chase are random and arbitrary. Why
  102. 3:211,000 subscribers? Why 4,000 watch
  103. 3:23hours? Why 8,000 subscribers or 8,000
  104. 3:26watch hours? Why um What's the metric?
  105. 3:2910 million views? Why? These are just
  106. 3:31random arbitrary numbers that they've
  107. 3:32come up with. I'm sure they're going to
  108. 3:33say analytics and blah blah blah, but in
  109. 3:36reality, these are just random I've got
  110. 3:38so many mosquito bites on me. Uh
  111. 3:40These are just random numbers that they
  112. 3:42came up with.
  113. 3:43What you should be doing instead is take
  114. 3:46whatever topic that you like to talk
  115. 3:47about, whatever you like to yap about,
  116. 3:50and find a way to sell your audience
  117. 3:53something off of the platform because
  118. 3:56YouTube could demonetize you tomorrow.
  119. 3:58YouTube could demonetize me tomorrow.
  120. 4:00YouTube could suppress my views, but if
  121. 4:02I create content for a targeted group of
  122. 4:04people that have a specific problem and
  123. 4:07I understand and know the solution, I
  124. 4:09don't care if a million people see my
  125. 4:11videos. In fact, I would rather have a
  126. 4:14thousand people that see my videos
  127. 4:17and are my audience than a million
  128. 4:20people that see my videos and are not
  129. 4:23interested at all. Not interested at
  130. 4:24all. That's why virality is a trap. What
  131. 4:27usually happens with virality and I have
  132. 4:30a video on this channel that's at like
  133. 4:311.2 million views, so I know. You wind
  134. 4:33up getting a bunch of people that
  135. 4:34ultimately aren't interested in you.
  136. 4:36They're interested in that virality and
  137. 4:39so they don't stick around long-term.
  138. 4:41So, stop doing what the gurus are
  139. 4:43telling you to do
  140. 4:45and do what they're actually doing.
  141. 4:47Again, this is a very simple thing that
  142. 4:49you can do. Take a look at
  143. 4:52the next YouTube monetization video. And
  144. 4:54this goes true with VidIQ. VidIQ claims
  145. 4:57to help you, but they're selling a
  146. 4:58software in the back end. This goes true
  147. 5:00for TubeBuddy. TubeBuddy claims to help
  148. 5:02you, but they're selling a digital
  149. 5:04product software as a service in the
  150. 5:06back end.
  151. 5:08The gurus, the large channels have
  152. 5:10figured this out. The small channels,
  153. 5:13the people that want to get started and
  154. 5:15feel stuck, they haven't figured it out.
  155. 5:17And the quicker that you can figure that
  156. 5:19out, identify one group of people that
  157. 5:20you want to help. This can be gaming.
  158. 5:22This can be scary stories.
  159. 5:25This could be I don't know. Pick Comment
  160. 5:27your niche down below and I'll give you
  161. 5:28some examples.
  162. 5:30The sooner you figure this out, the
  163. 5:32happier you'll be because you no longer
  164. 5:34have to chase a random metric.
  165. 5:36Right? I could chase views. I could
  166. 5:38create the exact same videos as everyone
  167. 5:40else, but that's not important to me.
  168. 5:42What's important to me is connecting
  169. 5:44with people that have a problem that I
  170. 5:46can solve and the best way to solve them
  171. 5:48is to get in front of them at the right
  172. 5:50time,
  173. 5:51and then sell them stuff on the back
  174. 5:53end. And don't feel bad or scammy about
  175. 5:55selling stuff, because at the end of the
  176. 5:56day, if you believe in your product or
  177. 5:59your service,
  178. 6:00you are helping the person get to where
  179. 6:02they want to go. And that's not selling,
  180. 6:04that's serving them at a higher level.
  181. 6:06That is getting them to where they need
  182. 6:08to go with where they want to go, and
  183. 6:10they're frustrated. They've been
  184. 6:12spending time, money, frustration,
  185. 6:14effort trying to solve this problem, and
  186. 6:17you're simply helping them get there
  187. 6:18quicker. If you're woodworker, if you're
  188. 6:20in the woodworking niche, you are coming
  189. 6:22up with maybe templates, or you're
  190. 6:23coming up with a step-by-step guide to
  191. 6:25help them get their first routine or um
  192. 6:27first project done.
  193. 6:29That's what the gurus are doing. The
  194. 6:31people that have figured it out,
  195. 6:33they know that the best way to get in
  196. 6:35front of you is to talk about this
  197. 6:37YouTube monetization, and to drum up
  198. 6:39fear, and uh worry, and pain, so that
  199. 6:43you do what they ultimately want them to
  200. 6:46do want you to do, which is to buy their
  201. 6:48products and services.
  202. 6:50I'm telling you this because I want you
  203. 6:52to go out and create your own products
  204. 6:55and services, so that you don't have to
  205. 6:56worry about the next YouTube change.
  206. 6:58YouTube could decide tomorrow that they
  207. 7:00aren't going to pay anybody.
  208. 7:03What are you going to do? You're going
  209. 7:03to complain?
  210. 7:05The gurus will be selling their own
  211. 7:06stuff.
  212. 7:08The people that are just getting
  213. 7:09started, that haven't seen this video,
  214. 7:10and share this video with anyone
  215. 7:12that um is a small YouTuber. Anyone with
  216. 7:15less than 10,000 subscribers needs to
  217. 7:17hear this.
  218. 7:19Stop worrying about the YouTube Partner
  219. 7:20Program, because YouTube is under no
  220. 7:22obligation to pay you.
  221. 7:24They could arbitrarily decide tomorrow,
  222. 7:25"Hey, you guys are complaining about the
  223. 7:27YouTube Partner Program? How about we
  224. 7:28take it away completely? Then what?"
  225. 7:31Then what? The people that are creating
  226. 7:33their products and services will
  227. 7:34continue to create content. Everybody
  228. 7:36else will complain about it.
  229. 7:40Stop relying on YouTube.
  230. 7:44Start
  231. 7:45building your own stuff. And with AI
  232. 7:47it's even easier, okay?
  233. 7:49There's no excuse for you not to build
  234. 7:51your own stuff, not to sell your own
  235. 7:54stuff. There's zero excuse. Well, I
  236. 7:56don't know what to sell.
  237. 7:58AI will tell you exactly what to sell.
  238. 8:00Type in who you help.
  239. 8:03AI will tell you. Oh, I don't know how
  240. 8:05to create it.
  241. 8:06Use AI to help you create it or record a
  242. 8:08short video.
  243. 8:10Boom, you've got something in 3 days.
  244. 8:14So, the people drawn drawing up fear,
  245. 8:16drumming up fear are doing it A, so that
  246. 8:19they can get the views, so ultimately
  247. 8:21they can sell you stuff.
  248. 8:23That's what you need to understand.
  249. 8:24So,
  250. 8:25I I think the title of this video is
  251. 8:27uh or
  252. 8:29or I think the thumbnail for this video
  253. 8:30is going to be like, I want you to fail.
  254. 8:36I think that's going to be the title of
  255. 8:37this video uh of this thumbnail.
  256. 8:39Because it's really important that you
  257. 8:41stop relying on a third party. Stop
  258. 8:44relying on YouTube to pay you cuz they
  259. 8:45have no obligation to pay you.
  260. 8:49You didn't enter into a contract with
  261. 8:50them. You didn't sign an agreement.
  262. 8:53It's their platform. They're going to do
  263. 8:54what they want. So, do the smart thing.
  264. 8:58Turn your YouTube channel into a
  265. 9:00business front end.
  266. 9:02Turn it into a storefront. We talked
  267. 9:03about it yesterday. Watch yesterday's
  268. 9:04video if you want me to if you want me
  269. 9:06if you want me to explain the analogy,
  270. 9:08the parallel.
  271. 9:09But,
  272. 9:11I want you to fail.
  273. 9:13I want you to fail.
  274. 9:15That sounds crazy, but I want you to
  275. 9:17fail at YouTube Partner Program so you
  276. 9:18stop using it as a crutch so that you
  277. 9:20can build something of your own.
  278. 9:23Tell me what you think in the comments
  279. 9:24section below.
