I Built SECRET Toy Story 5 Characters in LEGO! — Transcript

- 0:00This is Toy Story 5.
- 0:01>> Oh, and I've been building characters
- 0:03from the movie. Only there were a few
- 0:05that I didn't even know about. So, today
- 0:08I'm building secret characters from Toy
- 0:10Story [music] 5 in Lego. So, let's do
- 0:12this.
- 0:16Our first secret character appears to be
- 0:19stuck in a tree, [music] and it's up to
- 0:21Woody to come to his rescue. This is
- 0:23Nutcase. He's a daredevil peanut that
- 0:25wears a wrestling mask. I thought about
- 0:27how to construct this character in Lego
- 0:29cuz like bro's literally a peanut. But
- 0:31no, no, no. It needs to be Lego.
- 0:35H only he is a lot smaller than Woody.
- 0:38So I'm going to use this little guy. I
- 0:40just need to mix some of [music] these
- 0:41paints together to make a nice peanut
- 0:43color and then paint this all over. Then
- 0:46I can add the details for his blue
- 0:48wrestling leotard. And then I can custom
- 0:50print this face print that I made using
- 0:52[music] my magic machine. And now all
- 0:54that's left is to tape him to this
- 0:55parachute and let him fly. Oh no, Pet.
- 0:59It's too real. It's a cannon vent. So I
- 1:02tried reaching it with this stick, but
- 1:04it wasn't long enough. So I made it even
- 1:06longer. And finally, I got it [music]
- 1:09off the roof only for it to land on the
- 1:12next roof. What the heck? It's not even
- 1:14windy out. Okay, maybe it was a little
- 1:16windy out, but it was blowing in the
- 1:18opposite direction. Anyway, our next
- 1:20secret character isn't all that secret.
- 1:22It's Bonnie, but this time she's older.
- 1:25In Toy [music] Story 4, Bonnie's only 5
- 1:27years old, and she wears this green
- 1:29jumper with a bead necklace and some
- 1:31yellow rain boots. I whipped up some
- 1:33mini figure decals. [music] And now we
- 1:35just need to line them up so I can UV
- 1:37print them directly onto the figure. We
- 1:39can put this together, and we'll use
- 1:40this hair. I'll also give her some arts
- 1:43and crafts so she can construct Forky.
- 1:45Oh my gosh, it's [music] a masterpiece.
- 1:47Wow. Bonnie grows up a little bit in Toy
- 1:49Story 5, so now she's 8 years old. And I
- 1:52designed this outfit that we see in the
- 1:54beginning of the movie. I thought this
- 1:56was absolutely perfect until I attached
- 1:59the torso. Oh no, I made two belts. Ah,
- 2:03this was going [music] so well. No.
- 2:06Well, we can keep the same face print.
- 2:07Just don't look at the back. I ran out
- 2:10of heads. And I'll use the same hair.
- 2:12For accessory, I printed Lily Pad onto a
- 2:15tile. And now she's ready to try to make
- 2:17a new friend. Our next secret character
- 2:20is the girl right outside the city who's
- 2:22really into horses. And this is the
- 2:25horse ranch where she lives. Oh, it all
- 2:28makes sense now. So, let's make her a
- 2:29mini figure. I whipped up this design
- 2:31for her torso and legs with her purple
- 2:33cowboy boots. And I was able to get this
- 2:35print to work out a lot better. I did a
- 2:38face print here. And we can use this
- 2:39hairpiece [music] to complete Bonnie's
- 2:41first real friend, Blaze. I even left an
- 2:44Easter egg on the back of her shirt,
- 2:45which is this unicorn. and we'll get to
- 2:47that in just a minute. In Blaz's Ranch,
- 2:49she has a pig [music] named Jimmy Dean.
- 2:52You know, like the breakfast sausage.
- 2:54The horse that she rides is a palamino
- 2:56named Daffodil. [music]
- 2:57But the set also includes this flying
- 2:59Pegasus toy and a little pink horse,
- 3:01which all makes sense now after seeing
- 3:03the movie. Except we're missing that
- 3:05plushy unicorn, which is why I bought
- 3:06these squishy horses. Let's open them
- 3:09up. Oh my gosh, they're so squishy.
- 3:12Look, we have our Pegasus and a blue one
- 3:14and a unicorn. Oh, they kind of smell
- 3:16like soap. Ew. So, let's add these
- 3:18horses to Blaz's collection inside the
- 3:21barn. And we can have Woody take one out
- 3:23for a spin. Now, some of Blaz's other
- 3:26toys include the tech toys, but this
- 3:28time I want to try to build them
- 3:30smaller. So, I made a new design for
- 3:32Lily Pad by using a bunch of different
- 3:34shades of blue for the screen. I'm going
- 3:36to make the sides round because it's
- 3:38still kind of small to get any more
- 3:40detail on the corners, but it does
- 3:42perfectly scale with these leafy
- 3:43elements which make for the little hands
- 3:45and feet. I can use this piece for the
- 3:47mouth and these two printed eye tiles.
- 3:49And here we have Lilyad. In fact, we
- 3:51have Lily Pad in almost every size. Oh
- 3:54man, this is Nutcase's worst nightmare.
- 3:57But I think this one actually scales
- 3:59[music] quite nicely with our Jesse
- 4:00minifigure as it is a lot larger than
- 4:02the other toys in the movie. Now, let's
- 4:04try building our next character, Atlas,
- 4:07the blue GPS hippo. But this time, I
- 4:09know he's supposed to flip open to
- 4:11reveal a screen. So, I'm [music] going
- 4:13to use these hinges. We'll add in a
- 4:15tongue. And we'll pop in all of his
- 4:17teeth. We can build the [music] top of
- 4:19the mouth by making the nose section a
- 4:21little bit taller. And I found some blue
- 4:23slopes that I can use here for the head.
- 4:26It would look really good if we had
- 4:27printed eyes. So, there we go. Wow, the
- 4:31[music] eyes really bring this model
- 4:32together. And now we finally have a
- 4:34working Atlas character with a secret
- 4:36ability. Oh no, he's eating Jesse. Now
- 4:38this model is a lot smaller than the
- 4:40previous one I built. But it's still way
- 4:42too large. This thing is actually tiny
- 4:45next to Jesse. So let's try making it
- 4:47even smaller. [music] This time just
- 4:49using 2x4 plates. We'll use these to
- 4:52make his snout. We'll give [music] him
- 4:54some ears. And I'm going to steal that
- 4:56printed eye tile. Okay, it's not as
- 4:59cute, but definitely closer to scale.
- 5:02So, let's move on to Smartyp Pants. A
- 5:04bunch of you guys pointed out that
- 5:05[music] I missed sticky hand on my last
- 5:06model because I didn't know sticky hand
- 5:08was part of the build. But now [music]
- 5:09we can at least give him this super
- 5:11sticky hand. Oh my gosh, it's actually a
- 5:13little bit too large. Oh, it's so
- 5:15sticky. This one kind of stinks, too.
- 5:17What the heck is up with these smells?
- 5:19Okay, he's got a sticky hand, but now I
- 5:21want to brick build him in scale with
- 5:22the others. I'll use some white bricks,
- 5:24[music] except for these. I only have
- 5:26them in light gray. Again, I don't have
- 5:28the right color pieces here, but that's
- 5:29not going to stop me because next we
- 5:31have to build this round toilet paper
- 5:32shaped face. I'll add in some yellow
- 5:34bricks to make the bucket handle. And
- 5:36this time, I'm going to brick build the
- 5:38sticky hand. Now, for the eyes. Oh, it
- 5:42looks like he's low battery. Or maybe he
- 5:44got punched in the eye. Let's use these
- 5:46printed eyes instead. Okay. Um, he looks
- 5:49a little excited. I think the pink tiles
- 5:51just make him look crazy. So, let's
- 5:52touch those up with this white paint
- 5:54marker. Okay, that does look better.
- 5:56Actually, I don't know, man. It kind of
- 5:58still looks cursed. Let's add on these
- 6:00printed buttons
- 6:02and this printed mouth. Oh my gosh.
- 6:05Wait, why does it actually look like
- 6:06nightmare fuel? It looks pretty good
- 6:09next to the others, but can you guess
- 6:11who I'm going to build next? Yeah, we're
- 6:13still missing one of the iconic trio.
- 6:15So, I had to whip up a quick design for
- 6:17the little cameras. I'm using this
- 6:19technique to hold a life ring in place
- 6:20by using a saucer. Only this life ring
- 6:23needs to be yellow. Nothing a little
- 6:25paint can't fix.
- 6:27>> Outstanding.
- 6:28>> Now that that's covered, let's give her
- 6:30this little yellow tripod. And I'll
- 6:32attach a screen on the back. Now we have
- 6:34the whole gang of tech toys. Our next
- 6:37secret character is high techch Buzz
- 6:39Lightyear. And they get this sweet
- 6:41software update that activates drone
- 6:43wings. It's like a drone except on
- 6:45Buzz's back. But taking these wheel
- 6:48pieces doesn't seem to look very good.
- 6:50So instead, I'm going to use four of
- 6:52these [music] hinge plates. And then
- 6:53I'll add some tiles on for stability and
- 6:56style. Then we'll add these white
- 6:58circles [music] on the edges to make it
- 6:59look like the propellers are in motion.
- 7:01Now we can strap this onto his back,
- 7:03activate the blades, and take off. But
- 7:05now I want to see what this POV would
- 7:07look like while he's flying. So I'm
- 7:09going to strap him onto this real
- 7:10[music] life drone and send him on his
- 7:12way. [laughter]
- 7:14>> No way, dude. It's way up there. Go
- 7:18back, boys. Go back. Oh my god. You can
- 7:21zoom through the cornfields and pretty
- 7:22much just fly anywhere. That is until I
- 7:25guess he runs out of battery. So to get
- 7:27around, Buzz is also going to need a
- 7:29ship. So let's construct his star
- 7:31cruiser. You can drive in this little
- 7:33rover into the fuselage. And to get Buzz
- 7:36into the cockpit, we need to remove his
- 7:38wings so that he can fit nice and easy.
- 7:44Buzz lands on unknown territory.
- 7:50Scanning the terrain [music] is
- 7:51dangerous. And what's that?
- 7:53>> Zerg is approaching. He takes aim and
- 7:55shoots at Buzz so that he can steal the
- 7:58local life form alien. Father help. So,
- 8:01let's get Buzz suited up into his action
- 8:03[music] figure style with this custom
- 8:05mulleted head and this cool helmet
- 8:07piece. Wo! Check this out. Let's
- 8:09assemble the legs. [music]
- 8:11attach the arms and go save Alien. Now,
- 8:14if you saw the postredit scene, you know
- 8:16that Zerg also gets a high-tech upgrade.
- 8:18But wait, where the heck is the rest of
- 8:19this guy's body? He's just floating. Ah,
- 8:22there it is. We could dial up his
- 8:24blaster to 11 to fight off Buzz.
- 8:28Buzz knocks out Zerg, but the alien
- 8:30starts plummeting to the ground.
- 8:33>> You have saved our lives. We are
- 8:35eternally grateful.
- 8:36>> But for right now, this is all the
- 8:37secret characters that I have for you
- 8:39today. So, make sure to hit the like
- 8:40button and comment who else you want to
- 8:42see me build from Bonnie's room. I've
- 8:44got another great video on the way, but
- 8:46in the meantime, go ahead and click on
