I Built A Business From Scratch Only Following Claude's Advice — Transcript

- 0:00This is me getting clients for a service
- 0:02business, Cloud AI Build, from working
- 0:04on abandoned houses to four-bedroom
- 0:06mansions all the way to concert grounds
- 0:09with a few accidents along the way.
- 0:13All to find out what would happen if you
- 0:16let Cloud AI build a service business
- 0:18from scratch with zero human
- 0:20interference. Is the business going to
- 0:22fail or is it going to be more
- 0:25profitable than if a human did it?
- 0:29I want to start a service [music]
- 0:33business. What are
- 0:37the top [music] five profitable
- 0:41service businesses people with
- 0:46zero knowledge or experience
- 0:51can start?
- 0:54Now, Cloud gave me five options. The
- 0:56residential house cleaning and the
- 0:58tenancy cleaning, commercial cleaning
- 1:00and a carpet cleaning. Oh, just hear me
- 1:03out. The residential house cleaning and
- 1:05the end of tenancy and deep cleaning is
- 1:07something that we did in the ChatGPT
- 1:09video and also the window cleaning I
- 1:12have done years ago in my old videos and
- 1:15when I'm making these videos, I want to
- 1:17try something new. I want to build a new
- 1:19business that we have never tried before
- 1:21on the channel and that leaves us with
- 1:23just two businesses, the commercial
- 1:25office cleaning and the carpet cleaning.
- 1:28But, realistically, I don't see the
- 1:30office business being any different from
- 1:33the residential house cleaning business.
- 1:35Now, this leaves us with just one
- 1:37business that makes the most [music]
- 1:39sense for this challenge, which is
- 1:41carpet cleaning. Now, this is the only
- 1:44executive decision I'm going to make in
- 1:46this video because rules of the
- 1:48challenge are I'm not allowed to make
- 1:50any executive decisions when it comes to
- 1:52building or running the business. I'm
- 1:54leaving everything to Cloud. Rule number
- 1:57two, because I've run a similar
- 1:58challenge with ChatGPT, at the end of
- 2:00this video, we have to compare earnings
- 2:03and see which AI built a most successful
- 2:05business. Yep, Claude went on to give me
- 2:0810 reasons why carpet cleaning was
- 2:10better than all the other five
- 2:12businesses and I asked it to make me
- 2:17a solid business plan.
- 2:23Now, the business plan is ready and I've
- 2:25looked through it. I'll save you the
- 2:26whole boring business talk. It reckons
- 2:28we can make 40,000 in our first year of
- 2:30trading and 65,000
- 2:32in our second year of trading. I'll
- 2:34spend some time studying and
- 2:35understanding the business plan and
- 2:37Claude gave me two capital options, the
- 2:39bare minimum start and the realistic
- 2:41[music] start, but I went for the bare
- 2:43minimum start. Why? Because not a lot of
- 2:46people will have 10,000 pounds to throw
- 2:48at a carpet cleaning business and when
- 2:50we did the ChatGPT video, we did not
- 2:53give it a budget of 10,000 pounds. So, I
- 2:55feel like it's only fair we use a
- 2:57similar kind of budget for both
- 2:59challenges. Now, Claude gave us a list
- 3:02of items that we need to start a carpet
- 3:05cleaning business. As you can see, the
- 3:07first item on the list is a portable
- 3:10carpet extractor. I do not know what
- 3:13this is, but
- 3:15>> This is the one that for water.
- 3:17Yeah, for the walls, yeah.
- 3:19That's for the That's for turning it on.
- 3:21You spin at the bottom and that's for
- 3:22your walls and you just hold that.
- 3:24>> So, what about if you want to use that?
- 3:26How about if you want to use that?
- 3:29>> So, you use that?
- 3:30>> Yeah.
- 3:31>> That is for the um
- 3:32>> Yep, as you can see, the seller did not
- 3:34know how to use it, but I paid him.
- 3:37Right, so this is the carpet extractor
- 3:40that I just seen me pick up. Now, it is
- 3:42the first item that Claude told us to
- 3:43buy. Now, these are branded as
- 3:45professional carpet cleaners, but
- 3:47looking at the size, I don't know how
- 3:48true that is. Now, these retail for
- 3:501,200
- 3:52pound, but on a used market they're
- 3:54about 300. We've managed to pick one up
- 3:56for
- 3:58£100. I picked up the second item on the
- 4:00list, which was a Hoover. Now, I have
- 4:03managed to pick this one up for £60. And
- 4:06the next item on the list is a hose and
- 4:09a wand. As it stands, we have everything
- 4:12we need to start a professional carpet
- 4:14cleaning business. Now, the next step
- 4:16was branding and I'll let Claude handle
- 4:19everything from name, the tagline, and
- 4:21the color schemes. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 4:24the branding is done. To save you time,
- 4:26the business is going to be called
- 4:28Carpet Rescue and the tagline is clean
- 4:30carpets, happy homes. And the color
- 4:33scheme [music] is navy blue. Now, the
- 4:35next thing that I'm going to get Claude
- 4:37to do is
- 4:38the marketing plan.
- 4:45Now, the marketing strategy is ready. I
- 4:48think it's been restricted because we
- 4:50have a very tight budget and this is
- 4:52what I came up with. Now, the first item
- 4:55we're going to execute on this business
- 4:56plan is building a basic website.
- 5:02Yep. I spent the night building a
- 5:04website and this is what I came up with.
- 5:09You go on the website and then you click
- 5:11call us now. The call comes up and you
- 5:13can directly call me. And then there's
- 5:15premium carpet cleaning. All the
- 5:16sections have been coded by Claude. I
- 5:18didn't really do anything. And then you
- 5:20click book a home visit, brings up a
- 5:23form, you fill it, you can send us an
- 5:24email. [music]
- 5:25And then you go to the bottom, trusted
- 5:27by thousands. And then
- 5:29previous work, you swipe and you can see
- 5:32before and afters.
- 5:34And then [music] more reviews. And then
- 5:37the footer.
- 5:38That's basically it.
- 5:41The plan today is execute Instagram and
- 5:43Facebook part of marketing in business.
- 5:45Now, Claude has given us a monthly ad
- 5:48expenditure of 50 to 150 per month,
- 5:52which is fine, but also I feel like we
- 5:55should try the organic Facebook first
- 5:57and see how that goes and then
- 5:59eventually we shall start spending money
- 6:01on ads. Now, I spent the biggest part of
- 6:04the day just posting on Facebook and
- 6:06Facebook Marketplace, and I was
- 6:09surprised with how quick it paid off
- 6:10because
- 6:16Now, the plan was very simple. I collect
- 6:19the rug, I wash it, and then I return it
- 6:21to the customer, and that's exactly what
- 6:24I did. I laid it down, I hosed it, and I
- 6:27set up our carpet cleaner, but this is
- 6:30where everything started going wrong
- 6:32because the carpet cleaner was not
- 6:34working.
- 6:40I even tried to use the polish machine,
- 6:41and this nearly finished me, so I gave
- 6:44up.
- 6:46Right, so
- 6:49I have just returned the rug to the
- 6:52owner. I didn't even charge him because
- 6:54I feel like
- 6:57the machine did not clean the rug. I I
- 6:59genuinely don't know what happened, but
- 7:01I can't be showing up to clients' houses
- 7:04with this. Now, if the machine is
- 7:06struggling to clean a rug, imagine what
- 7:09it would do for a carpet. Do you know
- 7:11what I'm saying?
- 7:12I ended up not charging them the 25
- 7:14pounds that we agreed and whatnot, and
- 7:16I'm thinking
- 7:18I'm going to make an executive decision
- 7:20here and do some research and actually
- 7:24buy a proper commercial carpet cleaner.
- 7:27Yeah, I spent some time on Facebook
- 7:29Marketplace looking for commercial
- 7:30carpet cleaners, and in the morning
- 7:42>> This is the security ball
- 7:44of the level of water. When the water is
- 7:46too high,
- 7:48>> Yep. He spent some time just showing me
- 7:50how to use the machine, and he helped me
- 7:52load it in the car, and off I went.
- 7:55Right, so this is the carpet cleaner
- 7:58that you just see me pick up. I have
- 7:59driven 3 hours to and 3 hours back, but
- 8:02I think it is worth it. It feels solid,
- 8:05and this is what a lot of the
- 8:08professional carpet cleaners use, at
- 8:09least in the UK. These machines are
- 8:12strong. Brand new, they retail for 3,000
- 8:15lb, but obviously we bought it on a used
- 8:17market. Now, we have spent 700 lb, but I
- 8:22think it's worth it because it came with
- 8:24a wand and a hose. Those alone cost 250
- 8:27lb, but it was all in the price. We paid
- 8:29700 lb. Now, it got two vacuums, it got
- 8:32pump, it got a waste tank, it got a
- 8:35clean water tank, and then it got a
- 8:37disposable top for you to get rid of the
- 8:40dirty water. Now, this is all that the
- 8:43business has been missing. Only thing
- 8:45left for us to do is market the business
- 8:48and get clients. Yep, and that was all I
- 8:51did for the next few days, and guess
- 8:53what happened? Right, so this is our
- 8:56first job. And before I show you around,
- 8:58I'll just walk you through how many
- 8:59rooms it is and how much money we've
- 9:01charged. Now, this is a three-bed,
- 9:03>> [music]
- 9:03>> and we also going to have to do the
- 9:05stairs and the hallway. I'll be honest
- 9:07with you, looking at it now,
- 9:08I think I slightly undercharged it. We
- 9:10are charging 70 lb for this job. Now,
- 9:14minus the fact that I had watched a few
- 9:16videos the previous night, I did not
- 9:18know what I was doing, but I started
- 9:20with overing the whole house, and then
- 9:22they sent called pre-spray, you lay it
- 9:23down, give it 15 minutes, and it breaks
- 9:26the dirt from the carpet. Now, whilst I
- 9:27was waiting for that to do its magic, I
- 9:29mixed the cleaning solution.
- 9:31Now, as [music] you can see, I did not
- 9:33know what I was doing. The technique was
- 9:35off at the start, but it got better as
- 9:38we got along.
- 9:39>> [music]
- 9:44[music]
- 9:48[music]
- 9:49>> I managed to do the whole house. It took
- 9:51me about 3 hours, and this is what the
- 9:54house looked like.
- 9:55>> [music]
- 9:59>> All right. So,
- 10:01that was the first clean that we did,
- 10:02and what do I think about it?
- 10:04I think it's not as hard as I thought it
- 10:06would be, but then also there's a little
- 10:08bit of things that I didn't really think
- 10:09of before we went there, like my hose is
- 10:12not as long as it should be. So, we had
- 10:14to carry the machine up the stairs, and
- 10:17it was a little bit messy cuz now my
- 10:19client was a older man, and I'm asking
- 10:21him to help me carry the machine up the
- 10:22stairs, and it was a little bit messy.
- 10:24And also, putting the machine in and out
- 10:26this small car is a little bit of a
- 10:28mission and a half to a point where the
- 10:29client recommended I get a van. Now, for
- 10:32the next few days, I kept posting on
- 10:34Facebook, but it was dry. There was zero
- 10:36leads. So, right. So, it's been a couple
- 10:40of days, and we have had zero interest
- 10:43or zero leads from the organic Facebook
- 10:46that we have been doing. So, I think
- 10:48it's about time we started running
- 10:51Facebook and Instagram ads as Claude
- 10:54instructed us. Now, looking at the
- 10:57business plan they gave us, it said we
- 10:59have to spend 150 lb a month. Now, when
- 11:03you break that down on a daily ad spend,
- 11:05it's about 5 lb. And I'm going to do
- 11:08that, but I was thinking
- 11:10I'm going to double that daily ad spend
- 11:12to 10 lb
- 11:14a day.
- 11:15Yep, and that's exactly what I did. I
- 11:17went back to Claude. I asked him to make
- 11:19me an ad, and I copy pasted each and
- 11:22everything back into [music] Facebook,
- 11:24and 1 day later, this is how the ads
- 11:27were performing. The ad is still very
- 11:29much active, and we got 10 pound ad
- 11:33spend for days and we've reached 3,363
- 11:37people and
- 11:41Right, I got some good news and some bad
- 11:44news. The good news is the ads that we
- 11:46started running are actually working.
- 11:48The bad news is they are getting served
- 11:50to people outside our radius. I'm having
- 11:53people from Belfast, Portsmouth
- 11:55messaging me asking about cleans. Now, I
- 11:58don't know how to get around this but
- 12:00I'm still letting the ads run.
- 12:02This morning, we do have a clean and it
- 12:05came from organic Facebook. It's a two
- 12:07bed and we have charged 60 pounds.
- 12:17Right, so the weather is horrible. It's
- 12:20early in the morning and I'm 100% sure
- 12:23we've just been stood up.
- 12:25I'm messaging
- 12:27the customer. There's no response. I've
- 12:29walked around and I've managed to find
- 12:32the flat.
- 12:33I'm knocking on the door and there's no
- 12:35answer so
- 12:37I'm not going to waste any more time
- 12:38here cuz the weather is horrible. As you
- 12:39can see it's raining and stuff. So, I
- 12:42just left it and the next day quick
- 12:44little update. We have managed to close
- 12:46our first customer with the whole
- 12:49Facebook ads and it's not too huge but
- 12:52it is something. It's a living room, a
- 12:54bedroom and a hallway and we have
- 12:56charged 70 pounds. I'm going to go fill
- 12:59the car with the machine and whatnot.
- 13:01Show you what it looks like and we'll go
- 13:03get some money.
- 13:04Yep, this is what the buck looks like.
- 13:08Bro, it's so full to the brim. Uh
- 13:13>> [music]
- 13:16>> Yep, this was the rug that I needed to
- 13:19clean so I did that and I had to clean
- 13:21the carpet underneath and I did that
- 13:24just before we ran into a problem. Now,
- 13:27my wand started leaking, as you can see,
- 13:29and I did not know what to do. So, I
- 13:32just wrapped a cloth around it, and the
- 13:34clean went ahead.
- 13:38>> [music]
- 13:43>> Now, this is what the rug looked like
- 13:45after it was cleaned, and this is what
- 13:47the carpets underneath looked like, and
- 13:49this was [music] the dirty water that
- 13:51came from that clean. I drained it out,
- 13:53parked the money printer back into the
- 13:55Lamborghini, and 2 days later, Facebook
- 13:58ads got us another client.
- 14:01Now, this is the next property. Now,
- 14:03this is a two-bed, a living room, and a
- 14:07hallway, and I'm not going to lie to
- 14:08you. Well, the first time I seen this
- 14:09property, I knew I think we kind of
- 14:12underpriced it.
- 14:19Yep. I started with hovering, and then I
- 14:21pre-sprayed it, and I spent the next
- 14:24couple hours just doing this.
- 14:27>> [music]
- 14:33[music]
- 14:42[music]
- 14:42>> Yo,
- 14:43one thing I'm going to say,
- 14:46yo,
- 14:47my hands are This This is tiring. Like,
- 14:49it doesn't look like it's a lot of work,
- 14:51but it's a lot of work. My hands are
- 14:53aching, like Imagine just keep doing
- 14:56this for like 2 hours straight.
- 14:59>> [music]
- 15:02>> Now, this is what the final product
- 15:05looked like, and at this point in the
- 15:06challenge, I was not struggling for
- 15:08clients. The Facebook organic was doing
- 15:10its magic. I had over 40 leads on
- 15:13Facebook Marketplace that was sending so
- 15:15many people my way.
- 15:23>> [music]
- 15:28>> Now, this job was pretty simple. We just
- 15:31had to do a living room, the stairs, a
- 15:33small landing, and one bedroom. So, I
- 15:36did the living room, as you can see, and
- 15:39this is what it looked like. I can't
- 15:41really show you the bedroom for obvious
- 15:42reasons.
- 15:43>> That is done.
- 15:45That is not done. And that's the whole
- 15:47bit done.
- 15:59>> Now, at this point, I went all in in the
- 16:02organic marketing on Facebook, because
- 16:03that was what was working. I did the
- 16:05math, and the paid ads were not really
- 16:08converting, and when they did, it was
- 16:10costing us 17 pound per lead.
- 16:12>> Right, so I got some good news. The
- 16:14Facebook posts that we created earlier
- 16:17on have just paid off.
- 16:20I have managed to close an end of
- 16:23tenancy carpet clean.
- 16:24>> Now, this was a big job. It was one
- 16:27living room, two sets of stairs, and
- 16:29four bedrooms. We charged 130 pounds.
- 16:46>> [music]
- 16:51[music]
- 16:58>> Now, this next job came from Facebook
- 17:00paid ads, and we are going to get
- 17:01serious for a second here. I quoted this
- 17:04job at 30 pound. It was just a bunch of
- 17:05stairs and a rug. Now, if every lead
- 17:09cost us between 12 pound and 15 pound,
- 17:11if this lead cost us 12 pound, that
- 17:13means we are working for 80 pounds. And
- 17:17that just made me think maybe organic
- 17:19Facebook is better than the paid ads.
- 17:26>> [music]
- 17:42[music]
- 17:47>> Now, this was a rug that came from
- 17:49Facebook. We had to clean it and [music]
- 17:51then return it.
- 17:57And this is what [music] the rug looked
- 17:59like.
- 18:04Now, when I was doing this clean, I
- 18:06[music] got a call for another
- 18:08potential client.
- 18:09>> Yeah, just uh two large rugs and just
- 18:12around here.
- 18:14>> Yeah, that's fine. Uh what time tomorrow
- 18:16are you thinking?
- 18:17>> Uh
- 18:18that's what I'm saying.
- 18:19What about 11:00 around?
- 18:21>> Yeah, 11:00 is fine.
- 18:23>> 11:00 is okay.
- 18:24>> Yeah, if you send me the address, I'll
- 18:26be there for 11:00.
- 18:29>> Okay.
- 18:46>> [music]
- 18:53[music]
- 18:57[music]
- 19:05>> Right. So, last night we [music] got
- 19:07another client. Now, this client had two
- 19:10properties, but they were all relatively
- 19:13just smaller jobs, just the landing and
- 19:15the stairs on both properties. So, this
- 19:18was the second property.
- 19:22>> [music]
- 19:23>> So, I spent some time just doing it and
- 19:26we charged them 60 pounds.
- 19:33>> [music]
- 19:42[music]
- 19:55>> Right, so this is the second job that we
- 19:57got and this is just basically a whole
- 20:00the host events and whatnot and it's
- 20:02quite huge. I don't know if the camera
- 20:04can do it justice, but I have to whisper
- 20:06the second part. We have charged 80
- 20:08pound. So, we got to get started. It
- 20:11should probably take us about 4 hours.
- 20:14Now, I underestimated this clean. A
- 20:16clean that I thought would take 4 hours
- 20:18ended up taking 8 hours. I kid you not.
- 20:21I started the clean at 8:00 p.m. and I
- 20:23did not finish until 3:00 a.m. Now, this
- 20:25made me realize when you're starting out
- 20:28some cleans are meant for professionals
- 20:30and this was one of them. The hall was
- 20:33too big and the carpet cleaner can only
- 20:35hold 30 L of water. So, this meant I
- 20:38kept having to drain the [music] dirty
- 20:39water and fill with new water every
- 20:41after like 20 minutes. Now, imagine
- 20:43doing that for 4 hours. Nonetheless, I
- 20:47spent the 8 hours doing the clean and
- 20:50this is it.
- 20:51>> [music]
- 21:00[music]
- 21:05>> And it's on my [music] soul.
- 21:08I'm locked in.
- 21:08>> [singing]
- 21:09>> I'm locked in. I got this.
- 21:11And that's on my soul.
- 21:12>> [music]
- 21:13>> Time's moving. I've been losing track of
- 21:15where I've been.
- 21:16Had to quiet all the voices living in my
- 21:19head. I see the riches of the world. I'm
- 21:21not impressed. Know that [music] I'm far
- 21:23from perfect, but trying my best.
- 21:25Looking up to the sky, I'm feeling
- 21:27grateful.
- 21:28>> [music]
- 21:28>> Boy, I had to walk away from the fake
- 21:31world.
- 21:31>> Right, so this is the fun part that
- 21:33we've all been waiting for.
- 21:35The challenge is done. We can now
- 21:37stretch it any further than this cuz the
- 21:392 weeks is over. Now,
- 21:42what do I think about this as a
- 21:43business? I'll be honest with you. I
- 21:44think this is a very good business
- 21:46because we have only done it for 2 weeks
- 21:48and you've seen how easy it was for us
- 21:50to get clients. Now, in terms of how
- 21:52much money we've made. Now, we had a
- 21:55total of 11 clients and we managed to
- 21:58make 685
- 22:00pounds. I think from a new business,
- 22:03this is really good. And our expenses,
- 22:07we've spent 700 pound on the machine and
- 22:11then the Hoover was 60 pound, the
- 22:12cleaning supplies was 70 pound, then we
- 22:15spent 51 pound on ads. Now, this brings
- 22:18our total expenses to 881 pounds. But
- 22:22just hear me out. If I keep doing this
- 22:24business for another 2 weeks, we will
- 22:26break even. Now, if we compare this to
- 22:29the domestic cleans, I still think this
- 22:31is a much better business because we get
- 22:33more customers. Easy. The only thing is
- 22:36the start-up capital for this was a
- 22:37little bit higher. I still think carpet
- 22:39cleaning is a much better business. Now,
- 22:43thanks for watching. If you enjoyed the
- 22:44video, don't forget to like and comment
- 22:46and if you're new here, don't forget to
- 22:48subscribe.
