I BLEW UP a Beginner's YouTube Channel in 7 Days — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00This is a beginner that has never made a
- 0:02YouTube video before. And I am going to
- 0:04change that. So in this video, I'm going
- 0:06to help us start a YouTube channel from
- 0:08scratch and make it go viral in just 7
- 0:10days. And the idea here is that you can
- 0:12follow the same process and get similar
- 0:14results. But for this to happen, we need
- 0:16to start today selecting the niche.
- 0:20Earlier this year, we did create this
- 0:22channel here named Isa and Jack. Our
- 0:25first upload got over 150,000 views,
- 0:28which was a great first attempt. I got
- 0:30this channel idea from this one here
- 0:32named Jasmine and James. And on the
- 0:34surface, this channel looks quite
- 0:36simple, but in fact, it makes over
- 0:38$250,000
- 0:40per month.
- 0:41>> It's insane to me that a YouTube channel
- 0:43can make that much money. So, it was
- 0:45pretty easy for Jack to convince me to
- 0:46get on board for this channel. But
- 0:48today, I want a channel for myself.
- 0:50>> We will get into that. But looking back
- 0:52at our attempt of just one upload, there
- 0:55were some challenges.
- 0:56>> It was insanely timeconuming for just
- 0:58one video. While it was only 47 seconds
- 1:01in length, it took us about 1 hour to
- 1:02film.
- 1:03>> And to that point, the channel was not
- 1:05beginner friendly. If you did not have
- 1:06me, you wouldn't have access to the
- 1:08filming equipment or even the idea to
- 1:10begin with. And as a third challenge, we
- 1:12did have high competition as we were
- 1:14technically competing with Jasmine and
- 1:16James, which is someone you do not want
- 1:19to compete with because they upload
- 1:21every 30 minutes. Now, while all of
- 1:24these were challenges that did hold us
- 1:26back going forward, these will become
- 1:28our selection criteria for deciding what
- 1:30niche we are going to enter today. And
- 1:32what I think we can do is download
- 1:34existing viral videos on YouTube, then
- 1:37transform them by doing something called
- 1:38[music] value ad editing, which allows
- 1:40us to monetize the videos under
- 1:42YouTube's terms of service. This
- 1:44approach here does satisfy our criteria
- 1:46of beginnerfriendly content as we are
- 1:48using existing viral videos. And of
- 1:51course, it's extremely timeefficient
- 1:53because we are not recording videos
- 1:55ourselves. But we are left with one
- 1:57challenge. We need to decide what
- 1:59content we are going to download. So
- 2:01Isa, what content are you interested in
- 2:04[music] creating?
- 2:05>> I really don't mind what content we
- 2:07make. I'm more just here for the
- 2:08results.
- 2:08>> Okay, let's get stuck into some broad
- 2:10research [music] then. So there we went
- 2:12into a phase of niche research and we
- 2:14were looking for two different things.
- 2:16Number one being channels with high
- 2:18average view counts per video and two no
- 2:21one re-uploading their content. And
- 2:23after 16 minutes of researching, we
- 2:25found our channel. So do you want to
- 2:28explain yourself what we found?
- 2:30>> Mhm. So, we found this channel called
- 2:32Nile Blue. And as Jack's helped me
- 2:34understand, there's extremely high
- 2:35viewership per video. So, we've taken
- 2:37the titles of these videos, put them
- 2:39into the search bar, and as you can see,
- 2:41it's just the original video, meaning
- 2:43we've satisfied the last criteria of low
- 2:46competition.
- 2:46>> So, this means our niche is locked in.
- 2:48We download now Blue's videos, apply
- 2:51value ad editing, and make Isla go viral
- 2:54on her own channel. Now, this does look
- 2:56easy on paper, but we need to remember
- 2:58that Isa is a complete beginner. [music]
- 3:00So, we need to take this one step at a
- 3:03time. Channel creation.
- 3:06This is Isa's personal YouTube channel
- 3:08that she uses to watch videos on. And
- 3:11today, we will be uploading videos from
- 3:13it. But, as you can see, it does need
- 3:15some changes. So, Isla, press customize
- 3:17channel. Scroll down slightly. And let's
- 3:19start with the channel handle. Any
- 3:21[music] ideas?
- 3:23>> No. [laughter]
- 3:25Okay, let's open a new tab and go to
- 3:27chatbt and type out a channel
- 3:29description of the idea that we came up
- 3:31with. Okay, now ask it to give you some
- 3:33channel name ideas. The results are in.
- 3:37Are there any that stick out to you?
- 3:40>> Um, I don't mind this one. Tested
- 3:43improved.
- 3:43>> Okay, so let's copy that. Now, let's go
- 3:46back over to YouTube and paste it as the
- 3:48channel handle. Okay, so it is not
- 3:50available. That's usually the case with
- 3:52YouTube. Let's highlight and and just
- 3:54put an [music] N. Cool. So that is
- 3:56available. Now for the channel name,
- 3:58let's just highlight that and paste in
- 4:00what we had which is tested improved. We
- 4:02now need to do our channel assets. We
- 4:05began by opening Photoshop. And for our
- 4:07profile picture, we decided to have our
- 4:09channel handle stacked vertically and
- 4:11Isa decided to put a green tick at the
- 4:13bottom. And for the channel banner, it
- 4:15was the same design. Once the channel
- 4:17assets were exported, they were uploaded
- 4:19to the channel. And after 8 minutes, the
- 4:22channel was ready. So that is the
- 4:24channel now set up, ready to go. Let me
- 4:26give you a quick look on how it looks
- 4:28like. We didn't spend too much time on
- 4:30this because it doesn't actually affect
- 4:32how many views you get. And the next
- 4:33step that we're moving on to is the most
- 4:36important yet. Video ideiation. To
- 4:39create any successful video on YouTube,
- 4:42you always go through a phase called
- 4:43ideiation. And the beauty of our
- 4:45approach so far is that we are using
- 4:47existing viral videos. So most of the
- 4:50work is already done for us. Out of the
- 4:53videos on the channel though, which one
- 4:55do you think we should use for our first
- 4:57upload? And as you're watching this
- 4:59back, try to decide for yourself, too.
- 5:05>> This is a trick question.
- 5:07>> No,
- 5:07>> surely it's just the one with 21 million
- 5:09views, right?
- 5:11>> I would not say that would be the best
- 5:13choice for our first upload. And to make
- 5:16things a bit more clearer with this
- 5:19ideation [music] phase, let's follow a
- 5:21three criteria approach. Starting off
- 5:23with criteria one, which is universal
- 5:26relatability. As you'd probably guess,
- 5:29this means that the video concept
- 5:30requires no specific knowledge to
- 5:32understand it. And right now, if we were
- 5:35to pick your video and score it against
- 5:37this criteria, it would score quite low.
- 5:40Because while your pick is the highest
- 5:42performer on this Science Space channel
- 5:44if we did push it to a broader audience,
- 5:46most people wouldn't know what a beaker
- 5:48is or care about it. Same with the
- 5:51second video here. I have no idea what a
- 5:53bismouth knife is, do you? So, we cannot
- 5:56expect other people to either. So, what
- 5:58we're going to do is take this Red Bull
- 6:00video as our video one, which currently
- 6:02has 10 million views, which does fulfill
- 6:05our first criteria because food is as
- 6:08about as relatable it gets. And Red Bull
- 6:10is the most marketed drink of all time.
- 6:12Now moving on to criteria 2, it is
- 6:15called completion compulsion. Most
- 6:17beginners when they create a video, it
- 6:19usually looks like this, where there is
- 6:21a hook, a rising action, and then some
- 6:24type of payoff. But the issue with this
- 6:26approach is that it's very predictable.
- 6:28To avoid this from happening, I like to
- 6:30use an approach called a looped arc,
- 6:33which adds both a conflict and a
- 6:35comeback to the original structure,
- 6:36which in turn makes the video less
- 6:39predictable and keeps people watching
- 6:41until the end. Now, I do know that was a
- 6:43lot of information to throw at you.
- 6:45Let's actually put this structure into
- 6:47action. We began by watching back the
- 6:49Red Bull video and noted down any
- 6:51timestamps that could be applied to our
- 6:53structure. For example, halfway through
- 6:55the video, Nile miscalculated the weight
- 6:57of the Red Bull he was concentrating,
- 6:59which became our conflict, and him
- 7:01retrying to get the correct weight
- 7:03became our comeback. Finally, he did end
- 7:05up trying the Red Bull and had a funny
- 7:07reaction, which was obviously going to
- 7:09be our payoff. After the watch through
- 7:11was completed, we moved into script
- 7:13writing. The looped arc and the
- 7:15timestamps acted as our structure. We
- 7:18then just filled in the blanks by
- 7:19describing what happened in the [music]
- 7:21video and it was all straightforward
- 7:23until we hit the hook. This needs
- 7:26[music] some work and it is actually our
- 7:29last criteria which is going to be
- 7:30called open loop. Currently, your hook
- 7:33would score quite low on this criteria.
- 7:36And read it out for me.
- 7:37>> This YouTuber turned 100 cans of Red
- 7:39Bull into powder using a special drying
- 7:41machine.
- 7:42>> It's currently accurate and clear, but
- 7:45it answers the question for them.
- 7:46there's no reason for them to actually
- 7:48watch the video. A good hook doesn't
- 7:50answer what happens in the video. It
- 7:52usually plants a question. So, let's try
- 7:55this. What would happen if you
- 7:58compressed
- 8:00100 cans of Red Bull into one drink?
- 8:04Notice [music] the difference.
- 8:05>> Yeah. You're basically asking a question
- 8:07instead of a statement.
- 8:08>> Exactly. And that would mean that the
- 8:11third criteria is now fulfilled because
- 8:14you're putting them into an open loop.
- 8:16And the only way to close that loop is
- 8:18for them to actually finish watching the
- 8:20video. And this meant that the video
- 8:22ideiation phase was completed, which
- 8:24took us 45 minutes to complete.
- 8:31It is now time to bring our structure
- 8:34and our script to life by creating our
- 8:36first video. Ever used an editing
- 8:38software before?
- 8:39>> Nope.
- 8:42>> This is going to be a bit of a challenge
- 8:43then.
- 8:44>> Yep. Okay, we began by opening Tap Cut,
- 8:47which is my editor of choice for
- 8:49beginners, and we downloaded the Red
- 8:51Bull video and dragged it into our
- 8:53[music] timeline. And I had Isa cut up
- 8:55the clips according to our timestamps.
- 8:57It was then onto the voice over. We
- 8:59headed over to 11 Labs and generated the
- 9:01voice over line by line. We then dragged
- 9:03the voice over into Cap Cut and trimmed
- 9:06out any dead space. Now, it was not as
- 9:08straightforward as it looks. Most of the
- 9:11process was me demonstrating an action
- 9:13and then getting Isa to attempt the same
- 9:15action and she was slow to pick things
- 9:18up, but that is the process to learn as
- 9:20a beginner. Regardless of this, to
- 9:22finish off the video, we added graphics
- 9:24to draw attention to key moments, then
- 9:26sound effects, captions, and music. And
- 9:29finally, we did watch it back two times
- 9:31to make some final adjustments. And
- 9:33after 51 minutes, the video was
- 9:35completed. So, that is Isa's first video
- 9:40completed. How did you find it?
- 9:41>> Took a lot longer than I expected, but
- 9:43the um structure
- 9:45>> loop dark.
- 9:45>> The loop dark pretty much the blueprint
- 9:47and then you just fill in the blanks.
- 9:48>> Yeah. So, what she's referring to is
- 9:51that I told her to look at the timeline
- 9:53like this where each section was a phase
- 9:56of the structure and as we worked from
- 9:58left to right, we just matched the
- 10:00visuals to the voice over. really with
- 10:02editing if you do have good ideation it
- 10:05is the easy part but let's actually put
- 10:07this video to the test now upload time
- 10:11it's now time to put the video to the
- 10:13test by uploading it to YouTube now
- 10:16firstly for the video titles let's just
- 10:18describe what happens so let's go with
- 10:20he this out compressed 100 red bulls
- 10:23into one drink so now what I typically
- 10:25like to do [music] is add two emojis so
- 10:28hop into another tab and just type out
- 10:30shockfaced emoji Okay, awesome. Now,
- 10:32copy that. Then go back to the title and
- 10:34just paste too. [music] Now, what I'm
- 10:37going to do is just give some credit to
- 10:39the original creator by going his
- 10:41channel handle. Awesome. Now, next step
- 10:43is the description. For this, again, we
- 10:46just like to describe what happened in
- 10:47the video, but a little bit more detail
- 10:49compared to the title. So, go ahead and
- 10:51type out what you think.
- 10:54Slightly longer than we needed, but
- 10:56leave it. It's fine. Now, I like to just
- 10:58give some random tags. So, let's just go
- 11:01with # shorts and # science. And then
- 11:04perhaps two that you can think of
- 11:08experiment
- 11:10and viral
- 11:12cuz we want to go viral. [laughter]
- 11:15>> That works. Okay, so that's it for the
- 11:17description and title. Let's scroll down
- 11:19and we always want to select that this
- 11:21content's not made for kids. Scroll down
- 11:23to show more. And [music] we do not need
- 11:25to worry about really any of these
- 11:27settings. So, ignore all of these. Go
- 11:28back to the top and then press next.
- 11:30Next again, next. Then public. And then
- 11:34publish. Your first video is live. How
- 11:36do [music] you feel?
- 11:37>> Pretty good.
- 11:38>> Good. Okay. So, I just want to set an
- 11:40expectation here. Sometimes your results
- 11:42don't look the best for maybe your first
- 11:44or second upload or even your third.
- 11:46When we check the results tomorrow and
- 11:48the next days, keep your head down and
- 11:50we'll keep progressing. Got it. Got it.
- 11:54Day two. It's been just under 24 hours
- 11:57since we first uploaded the video, and
- 11:59it is time to check out the results. I'm
- 12:03>> nervous.
- 12:04>> Nervous.
- 12:05>> How do you feel like it's gone so far?
- 12:07>> What do you mean?
- 12:08>> The amount of views.
- 12:10>> 100,000 views.
- 12:13>> What?
- 12:14>> 100,000.
- 12:15>> Yeah. I thought it was pretty good.
- 12:16>> Okay. What happened to those
- 12:18expectations?
- 12:19>> Anyway,
- 12:21>> let's hop into the channel and see how
- 12:23it's performed.
- 12:253,000. That That is where you see that
- 12:27under the thumbnail.
- 12:29>> That is so bad.
- 12:30>> That's why I laughed and that's why I
- 12:32set the expectations. Anyway, let's come
- 12:34into the chart and get a [music] better
- 12:36look. So, it does seem we got pushed
- 12:37initially here to around 300 views in
- 12:40the first hour. Then we got another push
- 12:42to 1,000 views just under the third
- 12:44hour. And then we got this longer push
- 12:46here at around the 7h hour mark all the
- 12:48way up to just under 3,000. And since
- 12:50then, it's been relatively flat. After
- 12:52seeing this, how do you feel now?
- 12:55>> Let's just give up. [laughter]
- 12:57>> Well, this is what I was talking about.
- 12:59This is pretty standard for a new
- 13:01YouTube channel. And honestly, to me,
- 13:03this video is almost perfect. And
- 13:05there's really not much else what we
- 13:07could have [music] done. And this is
- 13:08already reflected in the initial results
- 13:10we have gotten back. While you were
- 13:12complaining about 3,000 [music] views, I
- 13:14was looking at this metric here of
- 13:16average percentage views, which
- 13:18represents on average how long someone
- 13:20watches a video for. It is around 82%
- 13:23which is very high for our first upload.
- 13:25So, how do you feel now?
- 13:28>> I mean, it's 3,000 views.
- 13:29>> Okay. Seriously though, this is what I
- 13:31expected for our first upload. What we
- 13:34should do from here is give it another
- 13:3624 hours before we comment on this video
- 13:39anymore. And we should get started with
- 13:41our second [music] video.
- 13:42>> Another video. Yes, we did get started
- 13:45on the second video because if our first
- 13:48video does not continue [music] like we
- 13:49expect, we need to keep the channel
- 13:51moving. And this time around, we were
- 13:53summarizing Nile Blue's video where he
- 13:55condensed 20 beers into one drink. And
- 13:58this video had 6 million views. But the
- 14:00thing was, Isa was quite deflated and
- 14:03getting her through a second round of
- 14:04ideation was a grind. So I had to stop
- 14:08her for a pep talk. So I just want to
- 14:12say something. what you're experiencing
- 14:14now is totally normal. But just
- 14:16remember, even before I had all this
- 14:18process of the loop dark, our three
- 14:20criterias, I was just guessing. And how
- 14:22many times of just kind of guessing do
- 14:25you think it took me before I got my
- 14:26first viral video?
- 14:29Yes.
- 14:31Over 50. I've started so many different
- 14:33channels that look like this. Just kind
- 14:35of clipping content with no real
- 14:37structure. And you can see even some of
- 14:39the views here, they're lower than what
- 14:41you've already gotten. So try and push
- 14:43through and let's keep going cuz again
- 14:45let's not forget to me the first video
- 14:47is perfect. So just try and keep going.
- 14:49Okay.
- 14:51>> Okay. Get ready to ride out.
- 14:53>> But despite all of that motivational
- 14:55talk, she decided it was best to take a
- 14:57break for the evening.
- 14:59>> You want to give up? All right. Well,
- 15:01let's leave it there.
- 15:08>> Early in the morning, we got straight
- 15:10back into creating video 2. After we
- 15:12finished watching back the beer video
- 15:14and had our timestamps finalized, we
- 15:16then wrote the script just like before,
- 15:18filling in the blanks and then focusing
- 15:20on the hook. Isa was moving much faster
- 15:22this time after sleeping on the fact
- 15:24that we just need to give the channel
- 15:26some time. But I did not let her check
- 15:28the analytics once throughout this
- 15:30entire second video creation phase
- 15:33because I did not want to discourage her
- 15:35again. And after the script was done, we
- 15:37got back into editing. Finally, we did
- 15:39finish off by watching the video back a
- 15:41few times to notice any adjustments. And
- 15:44after a total of 1 hour and 5 minutes,
- 15:46the second video was completed. And it
- 15:49was not until the late evening that I
- 15:51got set up to check out the analytics.
- 15:57Isa,
- 16:00>> come and have a look.
- 16:04>> It's about your channel.
- 16:12Are you filming?
- 16:13>> Yeah. Just It's all right. Don't put on
- 16:14the mic. Just come.
- 16:16>> Finally.
- 16:18>> It's your channel. Have a look. Do you
- 16:19know where to look?
- 16:22>> 380,000.
- 16:24>> Three.
- 16:24>> Oh my god.
- 16:26>> 100,000
- 16:27views. More importantly though,
- 16:31186 comments, which is amazing. Have a
- 16:35seat. Let's look at the
- 16:38analytics. Good. So,
- 16:41300,000 views, first video. Let's look
- 16:44at the chart. Now, I know you're already
- 16:47looking at this large number here. Just
- 16:48ignore this for a second. Come over to
- 16:51the hourly candles here. This represents
- 16:53how many views the video [music] got
- 16:55over a 48hour period. All the way up
- 16:58until 12:00 a.m. It was relatively flat.
- 17:01We did get pushed to around 4,000 views,
- 17:05but [music] then we got pushed again to
- 17:076,000. Things did slow down a little
- 17:10bit, but we got this massive push here
- 17:13to 17,000 views. Obviously, these
- 17:16candles are representing what's
- 17:18happening in this view chart. But we can
- 17:20actually look into these three different
- 17:21tabs. Now, firstly, for our reach tab,
- 17:24there's not really much in here that we
- 17:26need to focus on. Coming up to the
- 17:28engagement tab, there are two important
- 17:31metrics that we care about. Firstly,
- 17:33this one here, which says how viewers
- 17:35engaged. That's a pretty boring name,
- 17:38and I like to call it the swipe through
- 17:40rate. We did score 80%, meaning 80% of
- 17:43the people who've seen this stay beyond
- 17:45the first 3 seconds, which is relatively
- 17:48healthy, and I would say for any viral
- 17:50short, you need at least 80%. Now, there
- 17:53is another important metric. This one up
- 17:55here called average view duration. We
- 17:57did reach 52 seconds. This is quite
- 18:00strong considering our video length is 1
- 18:02minute and 1 seconds. Now coming into
- 18:05the audience tab, this does take a while
- 18:08to update. That's why it looks a bit
- 18:09weird. But if we come down to the
- 18:12audience demographics here, we will
- 18:14refer to this in a few days to try and
- 18:16estimate how much your channel makes
- 18:18per,000 views, which is a metric called
- 18:21RPM. Let's get out of these nerdy stats
- 18:24and celebrate the fact that you got
- 18:27380,000
- 18:30views on your first upload. Not many
- 18:33beginners can say that.
- 18:35>> Crazy.
- 18:36>> All cuz of my help, by the way.
- 18:38>> So, when will we upload the new video?
- 18:40Like, surely while things are popular,
- 18:42we'd want to upload and jump on it,
- 18:43[music] right?
- 18:44>> We do want to wait. How long? That's
- 18:47anyone's guess. What we can do is
- 18:49monitor when we do this. So coming to
- 18:51our video analytics here, these candles,
- 18:54once these drop, say below 5,000 views
- 18:57per hour for longer than 24 hours,
- 18:59that's when we should consider uploading
- 19:01because the short has slowed down. In
- 19:04the past, I have rushed to upload and
- 19:06what it's done is made the video
- 19:09flatline. Not only this, it's only 48
- 19:11hours deep. Let's consider how many
- 19:13views it might have in 7 days. It might
- 19:15have 50 million. We don't know that.
- 19:17Hopefully it does, but we could tap into
- 19:20those 50 million views if we just waited
- 19:22and got that leg up for our next upload.
- 19:24>> Okay, makes sense. [music]
- 19:25>> We will update you with the next key
- 19:28decision. Day four, a quick check-in on
- 19:31the results, and I would show you Isa's
- 19:33first reaction to them, but I have not
- 19:36been able to get her away from checking
- 19:38the analytics on her phone every 10
- 19:41minutes.
- 19:41>> So guilty. The results are really
- 19:43addictive.
- 19:44>> Yeah. And on the topic of results, you
- 19:46can see that the video has now broken
- 19:49over 1.2 million [music] views. And the
- 19:52engagement across both the likes and
- 19:54comments has been very high. And as a
- 19:57very large milestone to you, you've
- 19:59almost broken 1,000 subscribers, which
- 20:02is something you should be very proud
- 20:04of.
- 20:04>> So good. Oh, and speaking of milestones,
- 20:07pull up the chart.
- 20:08>> There we go.
- 20:09>> Cuz I've been checking so often. I've
- 20:11been keeping an eye on these candles.
- 20:13And if you scroll through them, some of
- 20:14these are crazy. Like look at that one.
- 20:16100,000 views in 1 hour.
- 20:18>> I was looking at that and you don't know
- 20:20how impressive that is.
- 20:22>> Crazy.
- 20:22>> And let's not gloss over the fact that
- 20:24not even 48 hours ago, this video only
- 20:27had 3,000 views and you were down bad.
- 20:30It goes to show you how much of a roller
- 20:32coaster YouTube can be. And as for our
- 20:35engagement tab, what is interesting is
- 20:38our swipe through rate has increased by
- 20:39over 1%. [music] Which means that as
- 20:42YouTube is continuing to push this
- 20:44video, it is performing even better,
- 20:46which is a very strong signal to the
- 20:48algorithm to keep pushing this video
- 20:50just like it is. So now it begs the same
- 20:53question as before. When will this video
- 20:55start to slow down so we can upload our
- 20:58next video? Day six. It's been 2 days
- 21:02since we last checked in and the video
- 21:04is now at 5 million views. But more
- 21:07importantly, as you can see from our
- 21:09candles on the right hand side, things
- 21:11are starting to slow down. We were
- 21:13averaging around 120,000 views per hour
- 21:16last night, but since then things have
- 21:19started to slow down all the way down
- 21:21till 40,000 [music]
- 21:22views per hour. Now, ideally, that is
- 21:25not as low as I would like for our
- 21:27second upload, but we need to remember
- 21:29that we only have 7 days here. So, we do
- 21:32need to keep it moving by uploading our
- 21:35next video. take control and let's get
- 21:37this second video uploaded. So, the
- 21:39second video is now uploaded. I got Isa
- 21:42to do the upload settings just like
- 21:43before. And as you can see, it's been
- 21:46around 12 minutes and we are already
- 21:49getting views from the shorts feed. Any
- 21:51predictions, Isa, for the first 24 hours
- 21:53of this video being live,
- 21:55>> 100,000 views.
- 21:59>> What did I teach you?
- 22:00>> No, I'm joking. I actually don't know.
- 22:02But surely with the other video going so
- 22:04well, this one's going to go well.
- 22:06>> So I think with our first video at 5
- 22:09million views and also considering our
- 22:11first video got 3,000 views in the first
- 22:1424 hours, I think a realistic estimate
- 22:16for the first 24 hours is around 20,000
- 22:20views. So let's see what is going to
- 22:22happen. Jack Craig coaching. Now
- 22:26obviously Isa does have an advantage so
- 22:28far in this video. Live direct help from
- 22:31me. If you want that too, where I help
- 22:33you map out a channel strategy based on
- 22:35your skills and interests and then help
- 22:37you execute on that strategy to monetize
- 22:39your first YouTube channel, you can get
- 22:41access to all of that using my website
- 22:43that is linked down [music] below.
- 22:45Whether you've never created a video
- 22:46before or you are stuck with no growth
- 22:48on your channel, we can work through it
- 22:50together. And just like you've seen in
- 22:52this video so far, I am all about
- 22:54getting results. So on my website, you
- 22:56can get insight to some of the results
- 22:58that I have gotten for my existing
- 23:00members through both written and video
- 23:03testimonials.
- 23:04Day seven. I have not had the chance to
- 23:07look at the results yet, but as per
- 23:09usual, Isa is checking them every 10
- 23:11minutes on her phone, and she's going to
- 23:13run us through what they look like.
- 23:15>> Mhm. So latest video, we're at [music]
- 23:1816,000 views.
- 23:20>> That's below what we expected.
- 23:22>> Yeah. But to be fair, if you come into
- 23:24the analytics, we've only really been
- 23:26pushed in the last two hours. Coming to
- 23:28our candles, you can see in the last
- 23:30hour, we did get 6,000 views.
- 23:32>> Almost all the views within the last
- 23:34hour. Hopefully that does continue. How
- 23:36is the video performing beyond just
- 23:38views? Like swipe through rate.
- 23:39>> Yeah. So, if we go to our swipe through
- 23:41rate, we're sitting at about 72%. So,
- 23:44not the best cuz you said about 80%. Is
- 23:47good. Yeah. But to be fair, coming into
- 23:49the chart, we did start at 66%. So, we
- 23:52are increasing now. We're at about 75%.
- 23:54>> Yeah. Hopefully, that continues to
- 23:56increase. So, that's the second video,
- 23:58right? What about the first one?
- 23:59>> Yeah, we're still getting pushed. 7
- 24:01million. [music]
- 24:02>> All right. Still so strong. Have you had
- 24:05a chance to look into the earn tab?
- 24:07>> No, not yet.
- 24:07>> Okay. So, where the earn tab is, it's
- 24:10down the bottom here.
- 24:11>> Mhm.
- 24:11>> And if I scroll down slightly, you will
- 24:13see allegibility. [music] And this is
- 24:15for your channel to start earning
- 24:17revenue. You can see that you've done
- 24:19two video uploads over the last 90 days,
- 24:21which is correct. But you can see for
- 24:23our views, it's only showing 187,000.
- 24:25[music]
- 24:26How many views does your first video
- 24:27have? 7 million. It usually takes a few
- 24:29days for YouTube to validate them. So,
- 24:31it's really just a time thing until you
- 24:33satisfy this criteria of 3 million
- 24:35views. Now, as for your video uploads,
- 24:38we just need to make another upload. And
- 24:40then after you fulfilled the uploads,
- 24:42it's then time to send off the channel
- 24:43to be approved for [music] monetization.
- 24:46Now, at that point, it's in YouTube's
- 24:47hands. Potentially, they might come back
- 24:49to us and say channels that were not
- 24:51monetized
- 24:51>> potentially. But as to my knowledge and
- 24:54all the channels that I've run,
- 24:56>> we are creating monetizable [music]
- 24:58content because we're doing value ad
- 25:00editing, so we should be fine. But it's
- 25:03out of our hands.
- 25:04>> We'll see.
- 25:05>> We just need to wait now.
- 25:06>> Mhm.
- 25:07>> Cool.
- 25:07>> Yeah. Cool.
- 25:11Isa got straight into creating a third
- 25:13video so she could meet the three upload
- 25:15criteria for monetization. And the
- 25:17elephant in the room is that we are
- 25:19beyond the initial 7 days. But in our
- 25:23defense, we did not touch the channel
- 25:25for two of those days. So please forgive
- 25:28us. Regardless of this though, Isa did
- 25:30complete the third video without me
- 25:32helping even once. And when she showed
- 25:34me her final video, I had nothing to
- 25:37say.
- 25:37>> Pretty good. I don't think that needs
- 25:38any changes.
- 25:40>> Which means my job so far has been
- 25:42successful. Isa is now independently
- 25:45operating without me. Except I have
- 25:47decided it's now time to take this
- 25:49content to the next level. Because as
- 25:52you know, the issue with our approach so
- 25:54far is risk of not getting monetized,
- 25:57which is why we are going to start using
- 25:59AI in our videos. So go to Google, type
- 26:02in Higsfield AI. Along the top you can
- 26:04see that there's a few different options
- 26:06but for us we want video. So click that.
- 26:09To create any AI video we do need a
- 26:11prompt which goes in that box there. And
- 26:13this is essentially directing the AI
- 26:16what we want to create. So hop over to
- 26:18the script that you wrote and I think
- 26:20from watching the video back. Let's
- 26:22create an AI scene for the part when
- 26:24you're talking about the ingredients. So
- 26:26copy that sentence. Then go over to
- 26:28trusty chat GPT and paste in the
- 26:31sentence. And then just ask it for a
- 26:33video prompt. Copy that. Back over to
- 26:35Higsfield and paste it into the prompt
- 26:37box. And there we go. So there's a few
- 26:39other options we can do, but we don't
- 26:41need to worry about that. Let's just
- 26:42click generate. And now the video has
- 26:44generated for us. What we want to do is
- 26:46download this clip and go to the
- 26:48ingredients part so we can replace the
- 26:50clip. That was pretty straightforward,
- 26:51wasn't it?
- 26:51>> Pretty easy. So, we just spent the last
- 26:5310 minutes going through the video and
- 26:55replacing most of the clips with AI. And
- 26:58as you can see from all the highlighted
- 26:59clips, those are all now AI. It totals
- 27:03around 28 seconds, which is almost half
- 27:05our video's length. So, if you do want
- 27:07to sign up to use Higsfield to transform
- 27:09your content, you can sign up using my
- 27:11link in the description. But now, since
- 27:13the video is completed, we have exported
- 27:16it and got it ready to upload on
- 27:18YouTube. And Isa is now going to upload
- 27:21her first video completely independent
- 27:24of me.
- 27:26There we go. Third video is now
- 27:28uploaded. Which means if you go to our
- 27:31dashboard and then go down to your earn
- 27:33tab, you will see that we have three out
- 27:35of three videos uploaded. And we are now
- 27:39reading 2.5 million views, which means
- 27:43tomorrow is shaping up to be the most
- 27:46important day. Day 10. If I come into
- 27:49our earn tab, you will see things look
- 27:52quite different now. That's because
- 27:54YouTube has verified our channel to hit
- 27:56the 3 million viewed criteria and we
- 27:58have uploaded three videos. [music] We
- 28:00have already completed the first two
- 28:02steps of reviewing YouTube's base terms
- 28:04and signing Isa up for an AdSense
- 28:06account. Obviously, for these two steps,
- 28:09we did need Isa's personal details. So,
- 28:11we did not show this on camera. And now
- 28:13we are just waiting for YouTube to
- 28:15review her personal details which can
- 28:17take several days and in some cases 2 to
- 28:203 weeks. And then finally the channel
- 28:22will be reviewed for monetization which
- 28:24can take up to 1 month. But in my
- 28:27experience, YouTube moves much faster
- 28:29than the time frame they estimate. But
- 28:32as for a wider channel update, you can
- 28:34see that the channel is about to crack
- 28:3610 million views. And more importantly,
- 28:38we now have an estimated revenue tab,
- 28:41which means the money is coming.
- 28:44You're weird.
- 28:45>> And as for our first three uploads, this
- 28:48is where they are sitting individually.
- 28:50But now everything is in the hands of
- 28:52YouTube. Firstly, AdSense approval and
- 28:55then monetization review. The days went
- 28:58by one by one, checking the results of
- 29:00the channel and waiting for AdSense
- 29:02approval. It wasn't until day 18 that
- 29:05Isa's AdSense account was finally
- 29:07approved and the channel entered review
- 29:09for monetization. And day 19 would be
- 29:12the day that it all came together. I was
- 29:15just doing a routine check of all my
- 29:17channels on YouTube. And after a long
- 29:19wait, we finally have a decision. Ready
- 29:22to take a look?
- 29:23>> Mhm.
- 29:25>> Congrats. You're a YouTube partner.
- 29:27>> Yep. So this means the channel is now
- 29:30monetized and we did [music] everything
- 29:32correct.
- 29:33>> That is so good. So what happens now?
- 29:35>> Well, you have a decision to make.
- 29:38Coming into our computer, you can see
- 29:40that your channel is in a very strong
- 29:42position. Almost 7,000 subscribers. Your
- 29:44most recent video is pushing over
- 29:46100,000 views. Of course, the YouTube
- 29:48partner program notification. And
- 29:50finally, almost 11 million views across
- 29:53your first three uploads.
- 29:55>> Where are you going with this? Well,
- 29:57it's either you continue producing this
- 29:59content or we pivot.
- 30:01>> Pivot like change everything.
- 30:03>> I know you don't want to hear that, but
- 30:05your niche has one major drawback. We're
- 30:07completely tied to Nile's channel. He is
- 30:10your entire supply. So, if he decides to
- 30:13stop uploading overnight, your channel
- 30:15dies. And to be clear, I'm not saying
- 30:17that you can't continue on this channel
- 30:19and start earning. And to put it into
- 30:21perspective, if you were monetized from
- 30:24day one, you would have earned
- 30:25approximately 4,000 USD based on your
- 30:28demographics, which is quite impressive
- 30:31considering this is your first real
- 30:33channel. So, I'm leaving this choice
- 30:34with you. This niche works, but with the
- 30:37skills that you have now, probably time
- 30:39to spread your wings.
- 30:41>> Do I decide now?
- 30:43>> You don't have to. We can give you some
- 30:45time.
- 30:45>> Yeah, I need time.
- 30:47>> Okay. So, I guess we'll update you when
- 30:49Isa has made a choice.
- 30:53Final update. It's been a few weeks
- 30:55since we last checked in, and this is
- 30:57where Isa's channel currently sits. Her
- 30:59first upload broke over 10 million
- 31:01views, and her other two uploads did
- 31:03flatline at just over 100,000 views.
- 31:06But, as for this fourth upload here, do
- 31:08you want to explain what happened?
- 31:09>> Pretty much, I was just getting
- 31:10frustrated that I couldn't break that
- 31:12100,000 view mark. So, to prove it to
- 31:14myself that I could, I've gone ahead and
- 31:16uploaded this fourth video. And I did
- 31:18break it.
- 31:19>> With only one upload [music] in the last
- 31:20few weeks, what does that mean? Are you
- 31:21done?
- 31:22>> I've come to my decision. I really want
- 31:23to build a channel with content that I'm
- 31:25actually interested in. And at the end
- 31:27of the day, I don't want to have to rely
- 31:28on Nile's channel or anyone else's
- 31:30channel for my content.
- 31:31>> It's good that you've come to that
- 31:32conclusion. And that is the exact point
- 31:35of our approach. You learn the
- 31:37fundamentals of content creation without
- 31:39a complex process that most beginners
- 31:41would fail at before they get their
- 31:43first success. And for a lot of people,
- 31:45the smart move is to continue running a
- 31:47channel like this that generates cash
- 31:49flow while you build an original channel
- 31:52that you actually care about. If you are
- 31:54going to follow a similar approach, just
- 31:56make sure you are fulfilling the value
- 31:58ad editing part of it because you need
- 32:01to pass YouTube's reuse content policy.
- 32:03and we pass it because we are adding
- 32:05commentary and story line through the
- 32:08editing which is another reason behind
- 32:10our loop dark structure and the editing
- 32:13process. And finally, if you do want the
- 32:15same help that Isla got in this video,
- 32:17you can get access to my private
- 32:19coaching using the link below.
