- 0:00Okay, you clicked on this video for a
- 0:01reason, so just give me a few minutes
- 0:02and you're going to change your life
- 0:03right now. What I want you to do is move
- 0:05your jaw as far as possible to the left.
- 0:07It seems weird, just trust me, follow
- 0:09along, let's go,
- 0:09>> [music]
- 0:09>> like this.
- 0:12Now, I want you to do the exact same
- 0:14thing, but do it to the right, like
- 0:15this.
- 0:19Now, while holding your jaw
- 0:21>> [music]
- 0:21>> to the right, can you breathe in through
- 0:24the nose, but imagine the air going
- 0:26backwards into your [music] face rather
- 0:28than up into the top of your head? Stay
- 0:30with me, just like this.
- 0:43Relax [music] a bit, do the exact same
- 0:45thing, but on the other side. Let's go.
- 0:58>> [music]
- 1:01>> Good, that's perfect. Now, pause for a
- 1:03second, and what I'd like you to do is
- 1:05blow up air into both of your cheeks,
- 1:07like this.
- 1:10It seems weird, [music] but we started,
- 1:11so relax your body and keep going. Just
- 1:13like this.
- 1:16Now, while holding your cheeks puffed
- 1:17[music] up, again, I want you to breathe
- 1:19backwards into the nose, but this time
- 1:21try and breathe even more slowly on the
- 1:24way out. Let's go.
- 1:29>> [music]
- 1:38>> Good, and then finally, can you place
- 1:40[music] your tongue on the roof of the
- 1:41mouth, like this?
- 1:45Now, that was a weird start to a video,
- 1:47but if you followed that along, you
- 1:49should [music] feel a tiny bit calmer,
- 1:51and that isn't just a trick or placebo.
- 1:53Your face is directly connected to the
- 1:56nervous system. The facial muscles are
- 1:57connected [music] to the trigeminal
- 1:59nerve, and this trigeminal nerve is
- 2:01connected to your brain stem and is
- 2:02partially responsible for shifting you
- 2:04into a parasympathetic and calm state.
- 2:07So, unless we physically release tension
- 2:09[music] stored in our face, unless we
- 2:11directly open up our airways and improve
- 2:13[music] our tongue posture, we cannot
- 2:15truly reset our nervous system, and we
- 2:18can't truly be present. I know that's a
- 2:20bold claim, but just think about it like
- 2:22this. Many times when we're angry, we
- 2:24clench our jaw. When we're stressed, we
- 2:26start breathing super quickly. If we're
- 2:28shy, our head falls down and our
- 2:30shoulders slouch. So, these emotions,
- 2:32these experiences that we hold, not only
- 2:34shape and form our mind, but they're
- 2:36physically stored within our body. That
- 2:38is the connection, that is the real
- 2:40connection between the physical and
- 2:41mental, and the layer in between this is
- 2:44the fascia. Your fascia is a layer of
- 2:46connective tissue that runs throughout
- 2:47the entire body. It weighs over 22 kg, a
- 2:50massively significant part of your body,
- 2:52but no one talks [music] about it. It
- 2:54has six times the amount of sensory
- 2:56receptors as muscle tissue, so it's
- 2:58deeply interconnected with your nervous
- 3:00system itself, and as a result, our mind
- 3:02is literally becoming out of touch
- 3:04[music] with our bodies as the fascia,
- 3:07the band in between it, becomes tired
- 3:09and tight. [music] And let's take it one
- 3:11step further. What is the main mechanism
- 3:13through which the fascia is hydrated? I
- 3:15believe, and it's my opinion, that it's
- 3:16the breath. Without the breath, we have
- 3:18nothing. And so, every breath we take,
- 3:20we're constantly fueling our bodies. Of
- 3:21course, we are, because we're living.
- 3:23And so, no matter how perfectly we eat,
- 3:25no matter how calm we think we are, our
- 3:27breath [music] doesn't lie. And what is
- 3:29the physical gateway to our breath? It's
- 3:32your palate. It's your [music] face. The
- 3:33wider your palate, the better the
- 3:34muscles in the face, the more relaxed
- 3:36your face can be, the better you
- 3:38breathe, the better you look, the
- 3:40healthier you are, the longer you live,
- 3:42and the more calm and at peace you can
- 3:44be, more present you can be. That is the
- 3:46true connection, I think, between the
- 3:48physical [music] and the mental, and
- 3:49that is part of the real way to reset
- 3:51our nervous system. I'm going to explain
- 3:53the other part in just a second. If you
- 3:55don't know who I am, my name is Oscar
- 3:56Patel. I transformed [music] my own self
- 3:58from this to this, improving my looks
- 4:01solely by fixing the real root [music]
- 4:03cause, which was my health. And at the
- 4:04same time, I fixed my posture, improved
- 4:07my sleep apnea, my asthma, my knocked
- 4:09knees, my overbite, my TMJ, and a lot of
- 4:13other issues completely naturally. Well,
- 4:15also, I'd like to think becoming [music]
- 4:17a bit more present, the best version of
- 4:18myself in every aspect, and being able
- 4:21to help a lot of other people around me
- 4:23do the exact same through this mission
- 4:25which I've been fortunate to find,
- 4:26>> [music]
- 4:26>> which is the idea that health is looks.
- 4:29Now, we even have the largest
- 4:30health-based paid community in the
- 4:31world. Link is in the description, QR
- 4:33code on the screen. If you'd like to
- 4:35check it out, if you're curious. If
- 4:36you'd like more information, and most
- 4:37importantly, if you'd like
- 4:38accountability. You'll watch loads of
- 4:40videos like this, you'll come across
- 4:41different people, different teachings,
- 4:42different ideas. In reality, you
- 4:44shouldn't listen to me or anyone else.
- 4:45You should only feel resonates within
- 4:47your body because there is one truth.
- 4:49The idea that we were all made
- 4:50perfectly. The idea that we were meant
- 4:51to be healthy, meant to have wide
- 4:52palates and well-developed [music]
- 4:53faces, meant to feel good and feel
- 4:55fulfilled. But many things in the modern
- 4:56world are distracting us from the power
- 4:58that we truly have. So, if you're
- 5:00curious, you can check it out. There's
- 5:01many more specifics, routines, and
- 5:03like-minded people. But, let's get back
- 5:04to the video. Let me explain part two.
- 5:06We did a little routine at the start
- 5:07just to emphasize the importance of
- 5:09relaxing the face, tongue, and breath in
- 5:11order to reset our nervous system. And
- 5:12little routines like that can be useful
- 5:14[music] to snap back into place. But, we
- 5:16also need to undo a lot of the damage
- 5:18that's been created to our bodies and to
- 5:20our fascia. And the main thing I'd
- 5:21recommend to begin releasing the fascia
- 5:23physically are these three points
- 5:24specifically for the goal of releasing
- 5:26the nervous system. Firstly, rolling out
- 5:28the feet. We can take a tennis ball or a
- 5:29fascia ball and just stand on the floor,
- 5:32roll out each foot at a time. When you
- 5:34feel tension on a specific point within
- 5:36the foot, what I'd like you to do
- 5:37[music] is pause, breathe deeply through
- 5:39your nose. Again, always breathe
- 5:41backwards into the [music] nose because
- 5:42we have little filters in our nose
- 5:43called turbinates arranged horizontally,
- 5:45which allow the air to be filtered,
- 5:47nitric oxide to improve, and this
- 5:49happens, oxygenation improves, and as a
- 5:51result, our body becomes healthier,
- 5:52functions better. We aren't meant to
- 5:54breathe up into the top of our heads.
- 5:56Going like this
- 5:57is a big misconception that I think many
- 5:59people don't have enough awareness
- 6:01about. So, breathe backwards when you
- 6:02reach a point [music] of tension slowly
- 6:04and breathe through that spot again
- 6:05because the breath hydrates the fascia,
- 6:07and when we find tension, we roll it
- 6:08out. We need the breath to engage the
- 6:10nervous system so it can learn a new
- 6:12resting position and to be safe. So, the
- 6:14feet are the first point. The second
- 6:15point I would say is near the back of
- 6:17the neck. You can place a ball against
- 6:18the wall [music] and just roll out the
- 6:20back of your neck. This is a really key
- 6:21point because again, it's connected to
- 6:23that trigeminal nerve area, and it's
- 6:25also near and around the cervical
- 6:27fascia. In addition, in the modern
- 6:28world, we [music] constantly are
- 6:29slouched, we're constantly on our
- 6:31phones, we're constantly sitting, and so
- 6:33I guarantee that everyone will feel a
- 6:34lot of relief on this point. And the
- 6:35final one I'd say is lying on the floor
- 6:38and rolling out just below the rib cage
- 6:39on the stomach. This is a key point cuz
- 6:41the rib cage needs to expand in order
- 6:43for the thoracic fascia to glide,
- 6:45cervical fascia to release, the tongue
- 6:47to rest against the roof of the mouth,
- 6:48and the physical body to become tight so
- 6:50that the nervous system can relax.
- 6:52[music] I'd say for each point, go in
- 6:53intuitively, spend as much time on each
- 6:55point as you'd like until you feel
- 6:56[music] tension, breathe slowly when you
- 6:58do feel the tension, and then move to a
- 6:59different point. I'd say the entire
- 7:01routine should maybe take 5 to 10
- 7:02minutes per day. Obviously, if you have
- 7:04different goals, you can tailor
- 7:05different points of your body. You can
- 7:07even try rolling out your entire body.
- 7:08People have different deficiencies and
- 7:10different things to focus on [music] and
- 7:11re-correct, but I'd highly recommend
- 7:13doing this at least three times a week,
- 7:15and you'll make a lot of progress.
- 7:16Equally, you'll improve your body
- 7:18posture, hopefully relieve a bit of
- 7:19pain, and this will all tie back in to
- 7:21being healthier, breathing better, being
- 7:23calmer, and also looking better because
- 7:25remember, health is looks. If we release
- 7:27the fascia and structurally are
- 7:28healthier, the only reason we find any
- 7:30individual traits of the face or certain
- 7:32postures attractive is because they're
- 7:34healthy, [music] because we're
- 7:35biologically hardwired in this way. So,
- 7:37if we truly tackle the root cause, we'll
- 7:39tackle about eight birds with one
- 7:41singular stone. Efficiency at its
- 7:43finest, I think so. [music] So,
- 7:45hopefully this was useful for everyone.
- 7:46Here are a lot of transformations for
- 7:48people in the community. I'd always like
- 7:49to highlight them and commend them for
- 7:50just being absolute legends. I'm so
- 7:52grateful for the community for all the
- 7:53people. I'm grateful for all of you
- 7:55watching this video. I hope you took
- 7:56some value for this. Hopefully this is a
- 7:58new [music] perspective. I believe that
- 7:59a lot of people are going to be picking
- 8:00this up very soon. So, I'm glad that you
- 8:02guys are amongst the first to take
- 8:04action upon it. Go for it. Become the
- 8:05best version of yourself. And if you
- 8:07like more information, you're more than
- 8:08welcome to join the community. I believe
- 8:09that's everything. If you're still
- 8:10watching, I'm not sure why, but I would
- 8:12like to say
- 8:15thank you.
