- 0:00so welcome back to another video my name
- 0:01is Jack Newman I run a digital marketing
- 0:03agency specializing in generating
- 0:05revenue for our clients and there's a
- 0:07link below where you can learn more
- 0:08about that by going to our website
- 0:10ukbmarketing.com and you can also use
- 0:12the link below to book a call with me if
- 0:14you want to see if what we offer is a
- 0:15right fit for you but with that said
- 0:17let's jump into the first step of using
- 0:19the Facebook ad library for your
- 0:20business
- 0:27so what you want to do is you want to go
- 0:29to facebook.com forward slash ads
- 0:31forward slash Library that's going to
- 0:32take you to here now what you can do is
- 0:34you can essentially search for a few
- 0:35different things you can enter in your
- 0:37location so I'm in the UK you can choose
- 0:39an ad category if you want to select ads
- 0:42that are in a specific ad category I'm
- 0:44just going to leave that blank or just
- 0:45select all ads basically and then you
- 0:47can start putting in some different
- 0:48keywords okay so this is where you can
- 0:50just search directly for competitors or
- 0:52you can search based on specific
- 0:53keywords so let's just look at a couple
- 0:55of companies so I really like this
- 0:57company here at the quotated athlete and
- 0:59I really like their product so what I
- 1:01can do is I can actually go onto their
- 1:02website I can scroll down and I can try
- 1:04and find their social media so I can try
- 1:06and find their Facebook I can then just
- 1:07copy this I can go to the Facebook ad
- 1:09Library paste it in and it's going to
- 1:11show me a few options now this is
- 1:13obviously them you can see 73k likes
- 1:15236k followers on Instagram so I can
- 1:18click that and it's going to show me the
- 1:19ads that are running for that company in
- 1:22the United Kingdom so you can see 36 ads
- 1:24are running right now it doesn't give
- 1:26you metrics like spend or conversions or
- 1:29performance you can't see that using the
- 1:30Facebook ad Library unfortunately
- 1:31however there is also a benefit if you
- 1:33are the one running the campaigns you
- 1:34don't want your competition to see
- 1:35exactly how you're doing however it does
- 1:37give you a lot of opportunity to start
- 1:39doing market research based on things
- 1:40like the creative the copy where they're
- 1:42sending their customers and overall how
- 1:45they're positioning their brand so what
- 1:46I would do is I would have a scroll
- 1:48through and I would start to watch some
- 1:50of the creatives I would start to see
- 1:51what they're doing how their marketing
- 1:53so you can even click on one of these
- 1:55ads to see a little bit more details and
- 1:57you can then see the creative and full
- 1:58size like this you can go through you
- 2:00can start evaluating whether you think
- 2:01this is a good ad a bad ad what you like
- 2:03about it you can see the ad copy you can
- 2:05also then click on the destination it'll
- 2:07take you through to whether actually
- 2:08running their ads to as a landing page
- 2:10so a lot of great opportunity here okay
- 2:12and you can go back
- 2:13you can do the same again so you can
- 2:15look at that copy like I say you can add
- 2:16have a look at the other running sales
- 2:18they're doing images they're doing
- 2:19videos another thing I like to look at
- 2:21is how long the campaigns have been
- 2:22running for so if a campaign has been
- 2:24running for a long time to me that would
- 2:25indicate is potentially working well
- 2:27most companies that have got ads
- 2:29management agencies and or have internal
- 2:31team members managing campaigns if
- 2:33they're not doing well they're not going
- 2:34to run them forever okay so you know if
- 2:36a campaign is launched today so for
- 2:37example as I'm filming this it's the 6th
- 2:39of May so for example this one's been
- 2:41released in April fair enough but it's
- 2:43still probably quite early days but if I
- 2:44scroll all the way back and I have a
- 2:45look at some of these campaigns that
- 2:46have been running since January they're
- 2:48probably working quite well otherwise
- 2:49why else would they be running okay so
- 2:51that's not a complete fact you can just
- 2:54take and assume you have any AD that's
- 2:56been running for a long time is working
- 2:57because there is of course the
- 2:58opportunity for mismanagement we don't
- 3:00know how they're tracking things we
- 3:01don't know what their kpis are however
- 3:02it's just an indication and that's kind
- 3:04of what I'm sharing with you on this
- 3:05video now let's look at another company
- 3:07so again this is another company similar
- 3:09sort of clothing brand specifically for
- 3:11athletes and or people who go to the gym
- 3:12and are into fitness young La so again I
- 3:15can go to their Facebook page I can just
- 3:17find that from their website I can
- 3:19essentially then just go back to the
- 3:20Facebook ad Library I can either paste
- 3:22it in or just search for young la
- 3:24that's going to bring up a few options
- 3:25so this can sometimes happen okay now
- 3:27none of these look like the right brand
- 3:28to me they don't have the right logos
- 3:30they're just some other stuff so I've
- 3:31obviously not found the correct one so
- 3:33that's the exact way they've written it
- 3:35so I'm just going to go back copy it and
- 3:37paste it in there
- 3:38and now you can see we found it okay so
- 3:40you have to do a little bit of searching
- 3:41occasionally now it seems like they're
- 3:42running no ads in the UK which is very
- 3:44interesting let's have a look and see if
- 3:46they're running any ads anywhere so I
- 3:48can go all and go
- 3:49categories young la
- 3:53click on them
- 3:55and now we can see they are running ads
- 3:57but it was not in the UK it's like in
- 3:59the you asking us where they're based um
- 4:00so again we can start seeing the type of
- 4:03adverts that they're running where
- 4:04they're sending people to so this one
- 4:05looks like they're sending people just
- 4:07to their Instagram account so that's an
- 4:08interesting strategy so we can say right
- 4:10these are not direct Ecom ads
- 4:13necessarily it's more brand awareness
- 4:14for trying to get people through to the
- 4:16landing page also through to the
- 4:17Instagram page where they can then
- 4:18lightly convert once they understand a
- 4:20bit more about the brand so they're
- 4:21running a lot of those Instagram ads but
- 4:23they've also got these restock ads again
- 4:25these could be things like retargeting
- 4:26potentially now we can't see the
- 4:27targeting but I'm sort of hazarding a
- 4:29guess based on the type of creative and
- 4:31things like that
- 4:32um so again you can scroll through you
- 4:34can have a look again this could be a
- 4:35front-end ad this is going directly to
- 4:37less site pretty cool
- 4:40so we can start having a look at their
- 4:42strategy all right so I'm not going to
- 4:43go through and do this for loads of
- 4:44clients the the system's the same okay
- 4:45so you can search for Brands and you can
- 4:47find what they're doing and you can
- 4:49essentially see what your competitors
- 4:50are running this doesn't just work for
- 4:51big companies this works for anyone so
- 4:53if you have a low competitor this
- 4:54strategy will also work final thing is
- 4:56you can search based on keywords okay so
- 4:58let's just say I wanted to search for
- 5:00some type of gym clothing okay I can
- 5:02just search gym clothing in here and
- 5:04press enter and it's going to give me
- 5:06loads of ads you can see now they're not
- 5:07all from one Advertiser okay they're
- 5:09from different advertisers so I can
- 5:11scroll through and I can start to get an
- 5:13idea of ads that have been categorized
- 5:15by the keywords that are using things
- 5:16like that in terms of the copy and
- 5:18they're like brand as a whole as ads
- 5:20that will go up on a search option
- 5:22clothing okay so I can have a look here
- 5:24and let's say I want to find out a bit
- 5:25more about this company I can hover over
- 5:27their profile and click the view ads and
- 5:29it's going to load up their ad
- 5:31specifically and I can see they're
- 5:32running 16 different ads
- 5:33I can scroll to do the same level of
- 5:35research so there's kind of two
- 5:36opportunities here there's the bigger
- 5:38broader approach where you're just put
- 5:39in keywords or more specifically what I
- 5:41like to do is find other brands be that
- 5:44through finding Instagram accounts or
- 5:45looking just Google searching or when an
- 5:47ad comes up in my feed I think is
- 5:49relevant for myself or my clients I'll
- 5:51screenshot it I'll then have a look at
- 5:53that company on the Facebook ad Library
- 5:54a little bit later and do a bit more
- 5:56competitive research
- 5:58so look I hope this video helps you this
- 6:00is a powerful tool it's quite simple but
- 6:01it's powerful I would highly recommend
- 6:03leveraging this for your brand drop any

- 6:06I'll see you in the next video thanks
