How to Use Chat GPT to Create Coloring Books on Amazon KDP (AI Tutorial for Beginners) — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Hey everyone. In today's video, I'm
- 0:01going to show you guys how to make a
- 0:02coloring book using Chat GPT. If you're
- 0:04new here, welcome. I'm Katherine
- 0:06Westbrooks. I'm a former classroom
- 0:07teacher and now stay at home mom who has
- 0:09lots of different side hustles that I
- 0:10like to pursue. So, I'm here to share
- 0:12those with you. So, if you like passive
- 0:13income and making money from home, then
- 0:15be sure to subscribe so you don't miss
- 0:16any future content. With that being
- 0:17said, let's go ahead and share my screen
- 0:19and get started. So, I'm on ChatGpt. I
- 0:21do have the paid version. I think it's
- 0:23$20 a month. For the longest time, I've
- 0:25had the free version, ChatGpt's new
- 0:27image generation software, which we're
- 0:28going to use today. that made me finally
- 0:30convert to the paid plan. So, I started
- 0:33paying for it, I think in April. Trust
- 0:35me, it's well worth it to just pay that
- 0:37$20 a month. I started by asking
- 0:38ChattPT, "What are the best coloring
- 0:40book audiences?" And I gave it some
- 0:42examples. So, Tatptt broke down some
- 0:44different audiences that I can target
- 0:46for my coloring books. And this is
- 0:48really just to brainstorm. So, since
- 0:49Fourth of July is coming up, I'm going
- 0:51to do Fourth of July. Okay, so I'm on
- 0:53Amazon now and I'm just typing in Fourth
- 0:55of July coloring book. If you're
- 0:56wondering what the software is right
- 0:58here, Titans Pro, it's what I use for my
- 1:00keyword research. This is paid. I'm
- 1:03going to show you part of it that's free
- 1:04in a second, but the Titans Pro version
- 1:07is a paid software. I do have an
- 1:09affiliate link down below if you would
- 1:11like to get Titans Pro. I really will
- 1:13only ever promote products to you that I
- 1:15actually use, and this is one that I
- 1:16really use for every book that I create.
- 1:18I get the best keywords, and it's a
- 1:21really great tool. So, I will have the
- 1:22free and paid version linked down below.
- 1:24What this does is it tells you the
- 1:26Amazon search term, the search volume,
- 1:28the search results, and the demand and
- 1:30the opportunity. So, ideally, you want
- 1:32green, green. So, I just sorted it by
- 1:35demand right here. I click this arrow,
- 1:36and it sorts it from either lowest
- 1:38demand, highest demand. And then over
- 1:40here on opportunity, I'm going to do the
- 1:41same thing. I'm going to do highest to
- 1:43lowest. So, now we can see it's sorted
- 1:45by the green green. So, the highest
- 1:48demand and the highest opportunity,
- 1:50meaning high search volume and low
- 1:52search results. So, I'm going to go
- 1:53right here to coloring books 4th of July
- 1:55because that's the highest search volume
- 1:57and click it. Now, this right here that
- 1:59you see, the Titans quick view, this is
- 2:01free. If you just go to the Chrome store
- 2:03and you type in Titans quick view, this
- 2:06is a free Chrome extension. Okay, so
- 2:07this gave me a five demand and then
- 2:09eight opportunity. So, basically high
- 2:12search volume and low search results.
- 2:13So, it's a low competition niche. If
- 2:16you're wondering about the product
- 2:17details that pops up, that's part of the
- 2:19Titans quick view extension. This Chrome
- 2:21extension is really nice because it can
- 2:23tell you lots of information about the
- 2:24book from just a glance. So, this
- 2:27independently published means that it is
- 2:29an Amazon KDP book, meaning someone just
- 2:31like you or I published this book. It
- 2:33tells you the date that it was published
- 2:35and the current rank. So, this book was
- 2:37just published on May 6th, so not even a
- 2:39month ago, and already is selling pretty
- 2:41well. Now, just to give you an idea of
- 2:42how well this book is selling, I'm going
- 2:44to take this information and put it into
- 2:46Self-Publishing Titans BSR sales
- 2:48calculator. This is a free tool as well.
- 2:50If you just go to tools, general KDP
- 2:52tools, it's this one right here. So,
- 2:54this book has a BSR or a bestsellers
- 2:56rank of
- 2:57114,700. So, I'm putting in that number
- 3:00right here,
- 3:01114,700. I put in how many pages are in
- 3:04the book and the price and press
- 3:06calculate. So, this book is selling
- 3:07about three sales per day, a royalty
- 3:09amount of $1.29. So, not a high royalty
- 3:12amount, but this just shows that books
- 3:13that are newly published can still make
- 3:15sales. This one right here we'll look
- 3:16at, too. 109 pages,
- 3:21$724 356 for the bests sellers rank and
- 3:24put in $7 for that book and press
- 3:27calculate. So that book also makes about
- 3:29three sales per day and then $1.90 in
- 3:32profit, so about $6 per day. Now, it's
- 3:35only June 2nd as I'm recording this
- 3:36video, so it's not even 4th of July yet.
- 3:38Now, these three top selling books for
- 3:40the 4th of July are all aimed towards
- 3:42kids. I'm back on ChatGpt and I just
- 3:44said I'm creating a kids 4th of July
- 3:46coloring book. Can you give me 50
- 3:48coloring page ideas with the prompts
- 3:49included? I want these images to be
- 3:51simple and fun for kids to color. And
- 3:52just like that, Tat is generating ideas
- 3:55for me to use in my coloring book. So
- 3:57now all I'm doing is I took that first
- 3:59prompt, the smiling American flag waving
- 4:01in the breeze. I put generate an image
- 4:03of and then I copy and pasted the prompt
- 4:06that it gave me and I just included
- 4:07simple illustration outlines for kids
- 4:09coloring book. Okay, now here's the
- 4:11image that Chat GPT gave me and this
- 4:13took about 20 seconds to create. Now, if
- 4:15you don't like the face on the coloring
- 4:16page or if you want to change it, you
- 4:18can always just regenerate. The nice
- 4:20thing about the paid plan is that
- 4:21there's no image generation limit per
- 4:23day. They do have timeouts. If you
- 4:26generate images too quickly, it'll tell
- 4:27you to wait a minute or two before you
- 4:29start generating again. There's no limit
- 4:31as to how many images per day like there
- 4:33is with Mid Journey or other image
- 4:34generation sites. Okay, I'm going to go
- 4:36ahead and do the next prompt. So, I just
- 4:38copy and pasted what I did before for
- 4:40the first prompt, and then I'm just
- 4:41going to add in the second prompt. So,
- 4:44I'm just going to highlight the first
- 4:45prompt right here. And then the bald
- 4:47eagle wearing sunglasses and holding a
- 4:49flag. So, here is our second image. And
- 4:51this looks great to me. Now, if you
- 4:53didn't like something about the image,
- 4:55I'm going to show you how you can edit
- 4:56it. So, if you click on the image, go
- 4:58over here to the select tool, or you can
- 5:00just type in right here in the box. So,
- 5:02you can select like if I don't like
- 5:04these clouds right here, I can select
- 5:05it, and then I can type remove clouds.
- 5:08And as you can see, the image is just
- 5:10regenerating without those clouds that I
- 5:11wanted to remove. So, it's super nice
- 5:13with this image generation software
- 5:15because you can give it feedback and it
- 5:17adjusts in real time. Now, I did insert
- 5:19this little box right here, which is
- 5:21strange. I can easily just take that out
- 5:23in canvas. I'm not going to worry about
- 5:24it. But with any AI image generation
- 5:26software, you'll have just weird things
- 5:28that happen with different images. But
- 5:30this is by far the best image generation
- 5:32software that I've used. So, it's not
- 5:34even close compared to other ones I've
- 5:36used. I love these images the best.
- 5:37They're the most consistent and the best
- 5:39for coloring. Okay. So, I'm going to
- 5:41repeat this again with another prompt.
- 5:42Copy and paste what we did before. Going
- 5:45to do the third prompt right here. Now,
- 5:47it's probably a lot easier to put all of
- 5:48this in some kind of like Google doc or
- 5:51a note on your phone or something or on
- 5:53your computer. So, you can just copy and
- 5:54paste and not have to scroll up every
- 5:55time. I'm just showing you for this
- 5:57video, but normally I'd put this in like
- 5:58a note on my Apple computer so I can
- 6:00just have it side by side and I can copy
- 6:02and paste easily. But, we'll just keep
- 6:04doing this for the sake of the video.
- 6:06Okay. Go ahead and press generate. Okay.
- 6:07So, here's our next image. This took
- 6:09about 20 seconds to create. So, not a
- 6:11long time at all. And they're such good
- 6:12images. So, I would just repeat this
- 6:14process all the way through and go
- 6:16through all of the image generation
- 6:17prompts. But, I'm going to go ahead and
- 6:19show you the next step to create the
- 6:20cover. So, I'm going to download this
- 6:22image and download the bald eagle image.
- 6:25I don't really like the American flag
- 6:27image. If I were actually publishing
- 6:29this book, I would regenerate this and
- 6:30not have the face included. But, for the
- 6:32sake of the video, I'm just going to do
- 6:33these last two images that we generated
- 6:35and show you what I would do next. Okay.
- 6:37So on Canva, I'm just creating a new
- 6:38canvas, an 8 and 1/2 by 8 1/2 in size
- 6:41canvas board. I chose that size because
- 6:448 and 1/2 by 8 and 1/2 because that's a
- 6:46popular trending size on Amazon right
- 6:47now. And this bestselling book right
- 6:50here that was published on May 6th is 8
- 6:52and 1/2 by 8 and 1/2. So I'm just going
- 6:53to go with that option. I'm going to
- 6:55press create new design. Now I just
- 6:57imported the bald eagle. And what I'm
- 6:59going to do is I'm going to use the
- 7:01magic eraser and erase this box right
- 7:04here. That was where the cloud
- 7:05originally was. And I don't know why
- 7:06that box is there now. I'm going to go
- 7:07and erase it. And now it's gone. Okay.
- 7:09So, if you don't like something about
- 7:11the image or chat GPT doesn't erase it
- 7:13the way you would like it to and it's
- 7:14easy for you to just do it in Canva, I
- 7:16would just do that just to save yourself
- 7:17some time. I'm going to go ahead and
- 7:19redownload this now that it's edited the
- 7:20way that we want. I'm going to download
- 7:22as a PNG. Now, I'm back in chat GPT. And
- 7:24here's what I'm going to do. I'm giving
- 7:26it a prompt. Can you colorize this
- 7:27image? Keep all details the exact same.
- 7:30Now, you have to re-upload the image
- 7:32that you want it to colorize. I've tried
- 7:34doing it where I just ask it with the
- 7:35image that I just generated and I get a
- 7:37lot better results if I actually upload
- 7:39the image. So here's my prompt and you
- 7:41can see I just went into my files and I
- 7:43uploaded the picture that I just
- 7:44downloaded. So this exact picture of the
- 7:46hat, I downloaded it and then just
- 7:48re-uploaded it right here. Okay. And as
- 7:50you can see after about 15 seconds, my
- 7:53hat is being colored. Okay. So here's my
- 7:55colored version of my hat. Now I don't
- 7:57like how this part of the hat right here
- 7:59is red and not white cuz it would make
- 8:01more sense if it was every other color.
- 8:02red, white, red, white. And I could ask
- 8:04chatb to fix that for me, but I'm going
- 8:06to show you an easier way that will just
- 8:07save you time. So, I'm going to go ahead
- 8:09and download this. And I would take it
- 8:11over here to photo pe. It's a free
- 8:13online version of Photoshop. This is
- 8:15what I use to edit my images. I'm going
- 8:16to go to the paint bucket tool right
- 8:18here. And I'm going to select the color.
- 8:20I'm just going to do white. So, it's
- 8:22already selected. And then right here,
- 8:23I'm going to click, and it's going to
- 8:24color that section white for me. So, I
- 8:27can adjust this if I wanted to. If I
- 8:29wanted to do blue instead, I go over
- 8:31right here to the color dropper or the
- 8:32eyropper. I click on the color that I
- 8:34want. So, if I want to do yellow, then I
- 8:36go back to paint bucket tool. See how
- 8:37the yellow is right here on top. That's
- 8:39how I know that's the color that's
- 8:40selected. And I would just click where I
- 8:42want it to be yellow. And then if I want
- 8:44to change color, I go back over here. I
- 8:46click on the yellow at the bottom. I go
- 8:48to white. Click okay. And then the paint
- 8:50bucket tool is already selected. I just
- 8:51click it again, and it's going to change
- 8:52the color. Now, I think also the rim of
- 8:55the hat should be red. So, I'm going to
- 8:56go ahead and go to eyropper, select red,
- 8:58and then go to paint bucket tool. The
- 9:00red is right here on top. So, that's the
- 9:02color that's selected. I'm going to
- 9:03choose red for the bottom of the hat.
- 9:05So, this color scheme I like a lot
- 9:07better. Now, I'm going to download it as
- 9:09a PNG and then upload that into Canva.
- 9:12So, now you have a colorized version of
- 9:14an exact coloring page for your coloring
- 9:16book. Now, I'm going to do the same
- 9:17thing for the bald eagle image. So, back
- 9:19here, I'm going to copy and paste my
- 9:21prompt. Can you colorize this image?
- 9:23Keep all details the same. And I
- 9:24uploaded the edited version from Canva
- 9:27that we took out that square. That's the
- 9:29image that I upload right here into Chat
- 9:30GPT. Now, Chat GBT added some kind of
- 9:32red band right here behind the
- 9:34sunglasses and didn't really fully
- 9:35connect the sunglasses right here. So, I
- 9:37just told Chat GPT there is a band
- 9:39behind the sunglasses that is not in the
- 9:41image I uploaded. Please keep all
- 9:42details the exact same. Can you colorize
- 9:45this image? Keep all details the exact
- 9:46same. And I'm going to see if it can fix
- 9:48it. Okay, so this looks much better.
- 9:50Here's my updated image. After I told
- 9:52ChatGpt of the error that was in the
- 9:54first image, this band behind the
- 9:55sunglasses, I reuploaded the same image.
- 9:58And then here's the second one that I
- 9:59got, which looks much better. So, I'm
- 10:00going to download this. Okay, so back in
- 10:02Canva, we have our two images that we
- 10:04generated. Again, for a real coloring
- 10:06book that I was actually publishing, we
- 10:07would have closer to 40 or 50 images in
- 10:09total. But here's what I would do next.
- 10:11Now, just make these a little bit
- 10:12smaller by just resizing them. You can
- 10:14also add a border if you want to. To add
- 10:16a border, you would just click on one of
- 10:18these shapes, make the color inside
- 10:20transparent, go to stroke, and make this
- 10:22a little bit thicker, and then you would
- 10:24just place this around your image to
- 10:26create a border. And then you can just
- 10:28copy and paste that on the next image as
- 10:30well until your book is done. Now, for
- 10:32the cover, here are the two images that
- 10:34be colorized. And I'm going to do
- 10:35background remover. Okay. And then from
- 10:36here, after you have your two images,
- 10:38now you can change the background color.
- 10:40Okay. Okay. So, when I removed the
- 10:42background color, it removed the color
- 10:44from inside of the flags, too, cuz it's
- 10:46white. So, I'm just going to restore
- 10:48what we erased. So, right here, I click
- 10:51on it. I go back up to the background
- 10:53remover and then go to restore. And then
- 10:55I just color in the area that I want to
- 10:57keep color. Even though it's white, and
- 10:59it's the same with the background, I
- 11:00want to keep this background color for
- 11:02the hat. Okay. Okay, so now I got my two
- 11:04images, which makes it really easy to
- 11:05create your coloring book cover because
- 11:07you have two actual images from your
- 11:09coloring book to use for your cover.
- 11:11Now, my daughter is almost up from her
- 11:12nap, so I can't go through the entire
- 11:14creation process for the cover and all
- 11:16of that. There's a ton of other videos
- 11:18you can watch on how to do the sizing
- 11:20and everything for the cover, but here's
- 11:22how I use chat GBT to create coloring
- 11:24books. I start with a research tool. I
- 11:26get ideas, and then I use ChatGpt to
- 11:29create the images. I also use Chat TBT
- 11:32for keywords and titles and descriptions
- 11:34as well. I can go into that more in my
- 11:36next video if you would like to see
- 11:37that. But I just wanted to show you how
- 11:39to create the images, the prompts that I
- 11:41use, and then also how to get colorized
- 11:43versions of your images for your
- 11:44coloring book covers. All right,
- 11:46everyone. That's how I use ChatBT to
- 11:48create my coloring books. I hope that
- 11:50you found this video helpful. If you
- 11:51did, please like and subscribe so you
- 11:53don't miss any future content. Let me
- 11:54know in the comments what videos that
- 11:55you want to see from me next, what
- 11:57questions you have. I'm happy to answer
- 11:58them for you. Thanks for staying until
- 11:59the end and I will see you in the next
- 12:01one.
