  2. 0:01about canvases and Views in this
  3. 0:03tutorial we will learn how to create and
  4. 0:06Export detailed architectural drawing
  5. 0:07sets and presentations let's get started
  6. 0:10when creating a new model in Ryan you'll
  7. 0:12arrive on a Model canvas the default
  8. 0:14line scale and model canvas is 1 to 40
  9. 0:17and its dual units are meters or feet
  10. 0:20the units you would typically use to
  11. 0:21draw flow plans and sections as I did
  12. 0:23here you can manage and create canvases
  13. 0:25from the layer panel each Ryan model can
  14. 0:28contain multiple canvases and every
  15. 0:30canvas carries its own settings entities
  16. 0:33and layers alongside model canvases Ryan
  17. 0:36offers paper canvases unlike the model
  18. 0:39canvas where I draw my structure a paper
  19. 0:41canvas is where I create my presentation
  20. 0:43and drawing layouts with views of my
  21. 0:45structure in various scales the paper
  22. 0:48canvas default units are centimeters or
  23. 0:50inches and their line scale is 1 to one
  24. 0:53in this paper model I created an A3 and
  25. 0:55an A4 sheet at a 1 to1 scale with views
  26. 0:58of my model canvas at 1 to 50 and 1 to
  27. 1:0125 scals this allows me to see the
  28. 1:03linewidth of my drawings as they will
  29. 1:05appear when exporting or printing them
  30. 1:08now that we've established the
  31. 1:09difference between a model canvas meant
  32. 1:11for drawing structures and a paper
  33. 1:12canvas meant for organizing drawing
  34. 1:15documents let's dive into views a view
  35. 1:18is a window onto a canvas from the layer
  36. 1:20panel click on the plus button and
  37. 1:22choose a source canvas that you want to
  38. 1:24place on your current canvas when
  39. 1:26creating your layout and presentations
  40. 1:28with views you can reference different
  41. 1:30areas of an existing drawing at various
  42. 1:32scales with different styles and
  43. 1:34settings essentially view is a duplicate
  44. 1:36of your work you can edit a views
  45. 1:38appearance as in its Styles and settings
  46. 1:41but not its content as in its layout
  47. 1:43composition it will always show the
  48. 1:45original canvas representation and
  49. 1:47therefore will be updated as you edit
  50. 1:50your work you can crop a view window by
  51. 1:53clicking on the edit button and
  52. 1:54adjusting the clipping path to go faster
  53. 1:57hold the command or the control button
  54. 1:59to crop a view were not in editing
  55. 2:01mode you can set the views origin and
  56. 2:04scale from the property panel or from
  57. 2:06The View Window note that panning and
  58. 2:08zooming while hovering on a view window
  59. 2:10will apply in the view area rather on
  60. 2:12the canvas area once you set your views
  61. 2:15origion and scale you can disable
  62. 2:17panning and zooming by clicking on the
  63. 2:18mouse
  64. 2:19Button as mentioned the style and
  65. 2:22settings of views can be overridden to
  66. 2:24curate their contents appearance to edit
  67. 2:27a view style click on its edit button
  68. 2:29and go to the style panel the new style
  69. 2:31settings you apply will affect that view
  70. 2:34only at any point the style overrides
  71. 2:37can be reset to match the original view
  72. 2:39appearance by clicking on the purple
  73. 2:41Arrow let's edit this style again now
  74. 2:45let's edit the visibility of a view
  75. 2:47click on the views edit button and go to
  76. 2:49the layer panel you can hide and unhide
  77. 2:51layers with various entities in your
  78. 2:53current view only at any point the
  79. 2:56visibility overrides can be reset to
  80. 2:58match the original view appearance by
  81. 3:00clicking on the purple button once your
  82. 3:02layouts and presentations are ready you
  83. 3:04can use pages to export your work in PDF
  84. 3:07and images go to the layer panel and
  85. 3:09create a new page from the plus button
  86. 3:12select the page and go to the property
  87. 3:14panel to set it scale to one to one and
  88. 3:16set its paper size then go to the page
  89. 3:20panel to export your pages they will be
  90. 3:22saved automatically on your computer's
  91. 3:24downloads folder check out our Pages
