  1. 0:00you can't beat the algorithm but you can
  2. 0:03trick it into growing your channel for
  3. 0:05you I remember when I first started
  4. 0:07YouTube I put a ton of effort in my
  5. 0:08channel but it was just stuck even
  6. 0:11though I was doing everything right it
  7. 0:13made me wonder how is it that some
  8. 0:15channels get picked up by the algorithm
  9. 0:17While others don't for years I refused
  10. 0:21to believe it was just luck so I dug a
  11. 0:23little deeper and I noticed some tricks
  12. 0:25that smaller creators were doing right
  13. 0:27before their channels took off but I
  14. 0:29just overlooked it so in this video
  15. 0:31we're going to uncover the four simple
  16. 0:33tricks that you can do to fast trck the
  17. 0:35growth of your channel cuz they can
  18. 0:37actually get the algorithm to push your
  19. 0:38content and no I'm not going to tell you
  20. 0:40to go steal somebody else's video ideas
  21. 0:42or their
  22. 0:43strategies that can help if done
  23. 0:45correctly but no I'm talking about
  24. 0:47strategies that directly impact how the
  25. 0:49algorithm deals with your channel and
  26. 0:51the first thing you want to do is give
  27. 0:52signals to the algorithm on what exactly
  28. 0:54your channel is about which seems simple
  29. 0:57but you'd be surprised how many creators
  30. 0:59failed to do this the right way and yes
  31. 1:02there is a right way picture this you
  32. 1:04start a new channel and you launch your
  33. 1:06first video you sit there excited
  34. 1:08waiting to see the views come in and
  35. 1:10then they don't why well you're new here
  36. 1:14the algorithm doesn't know what you're
  37. 1:16talking about who to present your video
  38. 1:17to or even what your channel is about so
  39. 1:20what happens next is there's a 50%
  40. 1:22chance that you'll post a second video
  41. 1:24and there's a 50% chance that you won't
  42. 1:26let's go with the optimistic chance that
  43. 1:27you do Post another video again you sit
  44. 1:30there waiting for views a few more
  45. 1:32trickle in but not really what you're
  46. 1:35expecting you're probably devastated
  47. 1:38disappointed and the chances of you
  48. 1:40making a third video just dropped a
  49. 1:42little bit more and they continue to
  50. 1:44drop with each frustrating attempt it's
  51. 1:47so common by now that it actually has
  52. 1:49its own name the first valley of death
  53. 1:53or where many Creator dreams go to die
  54. 1:56so how can you avoid failing before you
  55. 1:58even begin well you can actually
  56. 2:00overcome this and it's a trick that one
  57. 2:02of the biggest YouTubers recommends to
  58. 2:04all his clients it goes something like
  59. 2:06this when we launch a channel we launch
  60. 2:08it with five videos that is a hard and
  61. 2:10fast rule for us so that way people go
  62. 2:12on a significant watchtime journey in
  63. 2:14the that first week period so that way
  64. 2:17it tells YouTube wow this is a great
  65. 2:18Channel that's going to get people to
  66. 2:19watch and they're going to be really
  67. 2:20engaged so immediately you're
  68. 2:23jumpstarting the channel from 0 to 100
  69. 2:25as opposed to 0o to like 10% 15% then
  70. 2:29maybe I get on to that next video that's
  71. 2:30Matt pad you may have heard of him The
  72. 2:32Mastermind behind the game theorist and
  73. 2:34a consultant helping small channels grow
  74. 2:36well he knows what he's talking about
  75. 2:38and what he's explaining here is one of
  76. 2:39the biggest mistakes new creators make
  77. 2:41launching with one video or even worse
  78. 2:44an empty Channel his solution launch
  79. 2:46with five videos and that has at least
  80. 2:49two advantages with the algorithm first
  81. 2:51uploading five videos at once shows your
  82. 2:53audience that you're serious about your
  83. 2:54channel it demonstrates that you have a
  84. 2:56clear value proposition and a variety of
  85. 2:58content to offer this can help build
  86. 3:00trust and encourage viewers to subscribe
  87. 3:02because now they can see that you're
  88. 3:04committed to providing value second and
  89. 3:06this is where the algorithm comes in
  90. 3:08when you have multiple videos viewers
  91. 3:10are more likely to binge watch your
  92. 3:12content you can now lead them from one
  93. 3:14video to another which is something you
  94. 3:16wouldn't have been able to do had you
  95. 3:17just launched with one video just by
  96. 3:19doing that you've successfully and
  97. 3:21significantly boosted your watch time
  98. 3:23which tells the algorithm hey this
  99. 3:25channel is engaging and keeps people
  100. 3:27watching which obviously YouTube loves
  101. 3:30to hear and wants more of but this
  102. 3:32launching strategy will not matter
  103. 3:34without mastering the next trick
  104. 3:36strategizing to post five videos is just
  105. 3:39the start because you have to make sure
  106. 3:41your video topic has potential the video
  107. 3:44topic can mean the difference between
  108. 3:46100,000 views and 100 views the good
  109. 3:49news is there's a way to make sure you
  110. 3:51picked a good topic now there are tools
  111. 3:52that can help you come up with a great
  112. 3:54High View count topic for your YouTube
  113. 3:56channel and the best part is they're
  114. 3:58totally free so how do you find these
  115. 4:00topics easy let's start with a tool that
  116. 4:03everyone knows about Google Trends
  117. 4:05Google Trends is great for getting a
  118. 4:07general sense of what's popular in the
  119. 4:09moment you can see what people are
  120. 4:10searching and you can identify broad
  121. 4:12trends for example if you search True
  122. 4:14Crime you might notice that it's a
  123. 4:16consistently popular topic with various
  124. 4:18spikes in interest this gives a general
  125. 4:21idea that true crime content is in
  126. 4:23demand however to really hone in on the
  127. 4:25specifics and maximize your video's
  128. 4:27potential you need something a bit more
  129. 4:29powerful that's where vid IQ comes in
  130. 4:32let's jump to the tool and see how it
  131. 4:33works the keyword inspector gives you a
  132. 4:35vid IQ score which combines search
  133. 4:37volume and competition to indicate the
  134. 4:39potential success of the topic let's say
  135. 4:42True Crime True Crime has a high search
  136. 4:44volume but also High competition so we
  137. 4:47got to dig a Little Deeper refine your
  138. 4:48search look for related keywords with
  139. 4:50better potential for example true crime
  140. 4:53documentaries or true crime stories
  141. 4:55check the vid IQ scores for these
  142. 4:57variations you might find that true
  143. 4:58crime stories has moderate competition
  144. 5:01but still has a good search volume
  145. 5:03discover new opportunities use the
  146. 5:04related keywords to explore more
  147. 5:06specific niches you might come across
  148. 5:08True Crime Mysteries unsolved which has
  149. 5:11a high vid IQ score indicating that it's
  150. 5:13a trending topic with less competition
  151. 5:15so this way you've not only identified a
  152. 5:17popular Trend but also refined it to
  153. 5:19find a specific angle that gives you the
  154. 5:21best chance for Success this saves you
  155. 5:23time and ensures your content will be
  156. 5:25discovered and watched by a larger
  157. 5:26audience and best of all you just
  158. 5:28transformed your guest work into Data
  159. 5:31driven strategy and look at the proof
  160. 5:33just type in true crime stories unsolved
  161. 5:35on YouTube and check out the views
  162. 5:37they're in the millions indicating that
  163. 5:39this is a topic people click on but
  164. 5:41getting people to click is just the
  165. 5:43start the hard part is keeping them
  166. 5:46watching to the end it's a pretty
  167. 5:47straightforward formula the longer you
  168. 5:49can hold their attention the higher the
  169. 5:51watch time this prompts the YouTube
  170. 5:52algorithm to expose your channel to an
  171. 5:54ever increasing audience and this is why
  172. 5:57you need to use this simple trick way
  173. 5:59more more than you think to explode your
  174. 6:01retention if you've ever stumbled across
  175. 6:03one of dodford videos you'll find that
  176. 6:05he's a storytelling genius his
  177. 6:07storytelling is seamless it's
  178. 6:09captivating and it keeps you till the
  179. 6:11end I dug deeper into what he's doing
  180. 6:14and I found a Twitter thread of his
  181. 6:16where he reveals a secret script writing
  182. 6:18hack it's called the three-act structure
  183. 6:21and he hints about it over and over so
  184. 6:24how can you use this to increase your
  185. 6:26watch time follow that framework not
  186. 6:28just once but with each new segment
  187. 6:31consider adding a hook that Peaks
  188. 6:32curiosity a story or example to get your
  189. 6:35point across and only give the lesson at
  190. 6:38the end and the most important thing is
  191. 6:40just to keep doing this over and over
  192. 6:42through the whole script so you can keep
  193. 6:44catching interest right before the
  194. 6:46viewer has a chance to lose it for
  195. 6:48example say you're creating a video on
  196. 6:50the best way to cook steak have you ever
  197. 6:52wondered why your steak doesn't taste
  198. 6:54like the restaurants then confront the
  199. 6:56problem most people make these common
  200. 6:58mistakes use viid descriptions and
  201. 7:00personal stories and finally resolve it
  202. 7:03here's the fullprof method used by top
  203. 7:05chefs using this structure you not only
  204. 7:07keep viewers engaged but you make your
  205. 7:09content more memorable and impactful now
  206. 7:12I call this next trick the lazy way to
  207. 7:15grow your YouTube channel really really
  208. 7:17fast and I love it because you basically
  209. 7:20just let the algorithm do the work for
  210. 7:21you remember when we covered how the
  211. 7:23algorithm aims to surface the best
  212. 7:24content that gratifies the audience well
  213. 7:27when you upload a video that blows up or
  214. 7:29sees tremendous success that's a clear
  215. 7:31indication that that's what your viewers
  216. 7:33and subscribers are wanting to watch so
  217. 7:36all you got to do is just note that down
  218. 7:38and hammer on it what the procreators do
  219. 7:41and so should you is something Jenny
  220. 7:42Hoyos calls creating buckets once you
  221. 7:45find a format that works recreate it
  222. 7:47over and over again and that will ensure
  223. 7:50that it'll probably work every time
  224. 7:52thereby exploding your channel Mr who's
  225. 7:54the boss is doing it with his ibought
  226. 7:56the most blank Tech series and Ryan try
  227. 7:59is doing it with I tried one star series
  228. 8:02even Mr Beast is doing it wow look at
  229. 8:05the millions of views you too can easily
  230. 8:09do this once you pinpoint a specific
  231. 8:11video style or format that works for you
  232. 8:13and you knock it out of the park just
  233. 8:15keep doing it keep churning out videos
  234. 8:17within that bucket you got to be careful
  235. 8:19though cuz too much of a good thing can
  236. 8:22be a bad thing here's Mr be's thought on
  237. 8:25that every year we've had formats that
  238. 8:27do really well if I kept doing the
  239. 8:28formats that were Crush back in 2020 I
  240. 8:30wouldn't be where I am now eventually
  241. 8:31they would fizzle out I'm a big believer
  242. 8:33in like ending on a format while you
  243. 8:35know it's not too old have so many viral
  244. 8:38great like ideas that I want to bring to
  245. 8:40life there is just like so many videos I
  246. 8:43want to film and like so many different
  247. 8:45ideas that no one else is doing that I
  248. 8:46want to bring to the table that it's
  249. 8:47like I don't want to do 15 of those
  250. 8:50because like those other eight that I
  251. 8:53would do I could have done something
  252. 8:54more original and creative so yeah
  253. 8:55definitely milk that winning format but
  254. 8:58you don't want to become overly relying
  255. 8:59on it keep experimenting cuz that will
  256. 9:01allow you to consistently tap into your
  257. 9:03viewers interests while exploring some
  258. 9:05other Concepts that might unlock a new
  259. 9:08audience speaking of new audiences did
  260. 9:10you know there's a way to gain 1,000
  261. 9:12Subs super fast no really well there is
  262. 9:18check this video out to see what I'm
  263. 9:19talking about
