- 0:14with the falconer so it's my hunting
- 0:17companion the rifle only arrived in the
- 0:19Middle East about 400 years ago falconry
- 0:21has been available for for far longer
- 0:23there was a different rifle it was a
- 0:25different way of going on and then all
- 0:27the desert to go and hunt to provide
- 0:30food for the family
- 0:31what is it what is it day one training
- 0:33step oneness I need my Falcon to get
- 0:35used to me show the Falcon that I'm not
- 0:37a threat and this will be constant
- 0:39handling constantly touching to
- 0:41Constantine holy working with feeding
- 0:42and so once we've managed the first step
- 0:45which is called Manning then we move to
- 0:47the second step where I asked the Falcon
- 0:49to do something small what the Falcon on
- 0:51a certain distance and I call him when
- 0:54he comes to me I'll give him his reward
- 0:55father of reinforcements every time
- 0:57that's something I'll reward him and
- 0:59then we expand that so we start off with
- 1:02let's say a meter then we go two meters
- 1:05now I'm forcing him to fly then he needs
- 1:07to fly three meters six so we double it
- 1:09and we double it until we get to a point
- 1:11where I don't even need to pull him I
- 1:13don't even need to be able to see him
- 1:16because he'll be able to see me if I
- 1:18left up my hand and I call him or I give
- 1:20him the cue and he comes then I know all
- 1:23right
- 1:23the Falcon is well enough trained for me
- 1:25to go to the next step which is
- 1:27obviously the hunting part you want to
- 1:30train it the way it would naturally hunt
- 1:31up in the world Falcon is normally fly
- 1:33up in high skies wait for something to
- 1:35fly underneath closes wings form a
- 1:38little teardrop to fall out of the sky
- 1:39Wow
- 1:40take out their prey Wow hawks and eagles
- 1:42are different because of they bolt holes
- 1:45got longer legs shorter wings fat so
- 1:48they've got more agility so for them to
- 1:52fly in between trees they need to be
- 1:54able to grab where their long wings
- 1:55worth birds of prey we believe and
- 1:59movement of each species because it just
- 2:01makes the rehab so much easier let me
- 2:04keep you active in your natural behavior
