  1. 0:00hello everyone my name is liba and today
  2. 0:03I want to talk to you about something
  3. 0:05very close to my heart how to talk in
  4. 0:10English English changed my life it
  5. 0:13opened doors made me new friends and
  6. 0:17helped me dream bigger
  7. 0:19dreams when I first started learning I
  8. 0:22was scared I didn't know many words and
  9. 0:26my accent was different but I never gave
  10. 0:29up
  11. 0:30step by step I learned just like a baby
  12. 0:33learning to
  13. 0:35walk I fell many times but I got up
  14. 0:39again I know some of you feel the same
  15. 0:43maybe you are shy to speak afraid to
  16. 0:46make mistakes or worried that people
  17. 0:49will laugh but remember making mistakes
  18. 0:54is part of learning if we don't try we
  19. 0:58can never improve
  20. 1:01talking in English is like learning to
  21. 1:04swim at first the water seems deep and
  22. 1:09you may be scared to jump in but once
  23. 1:12you take that first step you start to
  24. 1:15feel better the more you practice the
  25. 1:18more comfortable you
  26. 1:20become one of the best ways to learn
  27. 1:23English is by listening when you listen
  28. 1:26to English your ears get used to the
  29. 1:30sound you hear how words are pronounced
  30. 1:33and you learn new phrases without even
  31. 1:36realizing it it's like listening to
  32. 1:39music the more you listen the more you
  33. 1:43understand another way to get better at
  34. 1:46speaking is by practicing with friends
  35. 1:49or even by
  36. 1:51yourself sometimes I talk to myself in
  37. 1:53English it may feel silly but it helps
  38. 1:58you can pretend you're having a
  39. 2:00conversation ask yourself questions and
  40. 2:03answer them the more you talk the better
  41. 2:06you get and don't worry if you don't
  42. 2:09know many words you don't need to know
  43. 2:12big words to speak well simple words are
  44. 2:16enough just focus on saying what you
  45. 2:19want to say even if it's not
  46. 2:22perfect people will understand and over
  47. 2:26time you will learn more words when I
  48. 2:30was learning I used to think what if
  49. 2:33people laugh at me but then I realized
  50. 2:36if I don't speak I will never improve so
  51. 2:40I spoke anyway and guess what most
  52. 2:44people were kind they didn't laugh they
  53. 2:48helped me so if you are nervous that's
  54. 2:52okay it's normal to feel that way but
  55. 2:56don't let that stop you take a deep
  56. 2:59breath
  57. 3:00smile and start
  58. 3:02talking the more you do it the easier it
  59. 3:07will
  60. 3:08become another thing that helped me was
  61. 3:11reading out
  62. 3:13loud when you read your brain gets used
  63. 3:16to seeing and saying the words it's like
  64. 3:20exercising your muscles the more you do
  65. 3:23it the stronger you get also don't be
  66. 3:28afraid to ask for help
  67. 3:30if you don't know how to say something
  68. 3:32it's okay to ask someone we all need
  69. 3:36help sometimes and asking questions is
  70. 3:39how we
  71. 3:41learn one last thing I want to say is
  72. 3:44this believe in
  73. 3:46yourself if you think I can't do this
  74. 3:50then it will be hard but if you tell
  75. 3:54yourself I can learn this you will see
  76. 3:58progress English is not hard if you take
  77. 4:01it one step at a time imagine you are
  78. 4:05climbing a mountain you don't reach the
  79. 4:08top in one big jump you take one small
  80. 4:11step then another and another before you
  81. 4:16know it you've reached the top it's the
  82. 4:19same with learning to talk in
  83. 4:22English so I encourage you all to start
  84. 4:27today speak English as much as you can
  85. 4:29can don't worry about making mistakes
  86. 4:33don't worry if it's not perfect just
  87. 4:37speak in the end learning English is
  88. 4:40like planting a tree you water it every
  89. 4:44day and it grows
  90. 4:46slowly but one day you will see that it
  91. 4:50has grown tall and strong you will feel
  92. 4:54proud of yourself for not giving up
  93. 4:57remember the most important thing is not
  94. 5:00how fast you learn but that you never
  95. 5:03stop trying so keep going keep talking
  96. 5:08and one day you will be able to say I
  97. 5:12did
  98. 5:13it I remember the first time I tried to
  99. 5:16have a full conversation in English my
  100. 5:20heart was racing my Palms were sweaty
  101. 5:23and I could feel my voice
  102. 5:26shaking I was so scared of saying the
  103. 5:28wrong thing
  104. 5:30but I did it anyway I spoke and even
  105. 5:34though I made mistakes I felt proud
  106. 5:37because I tried you see speaking English
  107. 5:41is not about being perfect it's about
  108. 5:44being
  109. 5:45brave every time you speak you are one
  110. 5:48step closer to becoming better it's like
  111. 5:52a muscle if you don't use it it stays
  112. 5:55weak but the more you speak the stronger
  113. 5:59your English
  114. 6:01becomes when I started learning I
  115. 6:04watched movies and TV shows in English
  116. 6:08at first I didn't understand much but I
  117. 6:11kept watching I paid attention to how
  118. 6:14people talked how they used their hands
  119. 6:18their faces and their voices it taught
  120. 6:21me that speaking English is not just
  121. 6:24about words but also about
  122. 6:27feelings if you want to connect with
  123. 6:30people don't be afraid to show your
  124. 6:32feelings when you talk smile when you're
  125. 6:35happy frown when you're confused and use
  126. 6:39your hands to express
  127. 6:42yourself language is more than words
  128. 6:46it's the way you communicate your
  129. 6:48heart sometimes when you're learning you
  130. 6:52might feel stuck you may think I've been
  131. 6:56studying for so long but I'm not
  132. 6:58improving
  133. 7:00this is
  134. 7:01normal learning a language is like
  135. 7:04climbing a hill sometimes you move
  136. 7:07quickly and sometimes it feels slow but
  137. 7:11even when it feels slow remember that
  138. 7:14you are still moving
  139. 7:16forward don't give up even when it feels
  140. 7:21hard one thing that helped me was
  141. 7:24setting small goals I didn't aim to be
  142. 7:28perfect in one day
  143. 7:30instead I set small daily
  144. 7:33goals one day I would focus on learning
  145. 7:37new words the next day I would focus on
  146. 7:42pronunciation bit by bit I
  147. 7:45improved and don't forget to celebrate
  148. 7:47your
  149. 7:48progress when you learn a new word or
  150. 7:51have a conversation in English take a
  151. 7:54moment to feel proud every little step
  152. 7:58is an achievement
  153. 8:00learning English is a journey and every
  154. 8:04step you take brings you closer to where
  155. 8:06you want to
  156. 8:08be I also found that keeping a journal
  157. 8:11in English helped me a lot every night
  158. 8:15before bed I would write about my day in
  159. 8:18simple English it helped me practice
  160. 8:21thinking in English and over time I
  161. 8:24notice my sentences getting better you
  162. 8:27don't need to write a lot even one or
  163. 8:30two sentences a day can help when you're
  164. 8:33practicing speaking try to think in
  165. 8:36English too at first you might translate
  166. 8:39from your language to English in your
  167. 8:42head but try to move past that think in
  168. 8:45English as much as you can it's like
  169. 8:48learning to dance at first you need to
  170. 8:52think about each step but with practice
  171. 8:55it becomes
  172. 8:57natural another thing that helped me me
  173. 8:59was finding friends who wanted to
  174. 9:01practice English with me we would meet
  175. 9:05maybe for coffee and only speak
  176. 9:09English at first it was awkward because
  177. 9:12none of us were very good but soon it
  178. 9:16became fun we learned together and
  179. 9:19laughed at our
  180. 9:21mistakes you can do the same find a
  181. 9:24friend or a group and practice speaking
  182. 9:27together you might also feel nervous
  183. 9:30about speaking to native English
  184. 9:33speakers I know I did but most people
  185. 9:36are kind and patient they don't expect
  186. 9:40you to be perfect they understand that
  187. 9:43you are learning so don't be afraid to
  188. 9:45talk to them if you make a mistake they
  189. 9:49might correct you and that's a good
  190. 9:52thing every correction is a chance to
  191. 9:56learn something new there will be days
  192. 10:00when you feel
  193. 10:01frustrated there will be times when you
  194. 10:04feel like giving
  195. 10:05up but I want you to remember something
  196. 10:08very
  197. 10:09important you are stronger than you
  198. 10:13think you have already taken the first
  199. 10:16step by wanting to learn that takes
  200. 10:20courage and here's the beautiful part no
  201. 10:23matter where you are from no matter what
  202. 10:26your background is English can connect
  203. 10:29you to the world it's like a bridge that
  204. 10:33brings people together when you speak
  205. 10:36English you can travel meet new people
  206. 10:39and learn about different cultures it's
  207. 10:42a key that opens many doors so when you
  208. 10:47feel like giving up remember why you
  209. 10:51started think about the opportunities
  210. 10:54that learning English will bring into
  211. 10:56your life imagine yourself in the future
  212. 11:00speaking English confidently making new
  213. 11:03friends and achieving your dreams hold
  214. 11:07on to that Vision let it push you
  215. 11:10forward and always remember to be kind
  216. 11:13to
  217. 11:13yourself learning a language is not easy
  218. 11:17and you are doing an amazing job if you
  219. 11:20make a mistake don't be hard on yourself
  220. 11:23instead say I'm learning and I'm getting
  221. 11:27better every day
  222. 11:30there will be moments when you surprise
  223. 11:33yourself you might suddenly understand a
  224. 11:36conversation or say something without
  225. 11:39thinking too hard about it these are the
  226. 11:41moments when you realize how far you've
  227. 11:44come and those moments will keep coming
  228. 11:48as long as you keep
  229. 11:50trying as I stand here today speaking to
  230. 11:53you in English I want you to know that I
  231. 11:56was once in your shoes I was scared I
  232. 12:00made mistakes and I wanted to give up
  233. 12:03but I
  234. 12:04didn't and if I can learn to speak
  235. 12:07English so can
  236. 12:10you the journey might be long but it's
  237. 12:14worth every step because with every word
  238. 12:17you learn with every sentence you say
  239. 12:20you are building a brighter future for
  240. 12:23yourself I remember the day when I
  241. 12:26realized that learning English was not
  242. 12:28just about understanding words but about
  243. 12:32connecting with people I was sitting in
  244. 12:35a park and a tourist came up to me
  245. 12:37asking for directions in
  246. 12:40English for the first time I didn't
  247. 12:42hesitate I spoke with
  248. 12:45confidence even though my English wasn't
  249. 12:48perfect the smile on their face when
  250. 12:51they understood me felt like
  251. 12:53magic that's when I knew that English is
  252. 12:57a powerful tool a way to bring people
  253. 13:00together learning English has taught me
  254. 13:03more than just a language it's taught me
  255. 13:07patience resilience and the importance
  256. 13:10of not giving up each word each sentence
  257. 13:16is a small
  258. 13:18victory and each time you speak no
  259. 13:20matter how small the
  260. 13:23conversation you are
  261. 13:26winning one of the things that really
  262. 13:28helped me was using English in my daily
  263. 13:31life I didn't wait for a classroom or a
  264. 13:35special occasion to practice I used
  265. 13:38English everywhere I would describe what
  266. 13:41I saw while walking down the street or I
  267. 13:44would think in English while doing
  268. 13:46Simple tasks like cooking or cleaning
  269. 13:50these little moments of practice add up
  270. 13:52over time I also loved talking to myself
  271. 13:56in English I would pretend to have
  272. 13:59conversations with
  273. 14:01people sometimes I would even act out a
  274. 14:04scene from a movie or TV show just to
  275. 14:07practice speaking out
  276. 14:09loud it might sound funny but it helped
  277. 14:12me feel more comfortable with the
  278. 14:14language the more I talked to myself the
  279. 14:17more natural English felt and here's
  280. 14:20something I learned that might surprise
  281. 14:23you it's okay not to know everything you
  282. 14:27don't need to know every word in the
  283. 14:29dictionary to speak
  284. 14:31English sometimes simple words are
  285. 14:34enough what's important is that you can
  286. 14:36express your thoughts and feelings even
  287. 14:40if you don't know the perfect word
  288. 14:42there's always a way to
  289. 14:44communicate English like any language is
  290. 14:48about sharing your heart and mind with
  291. 14:51others another thing I want to share is
  292. 14:54how important it is to celebrate every
  293. 14:57little success
  294. 14:59I remember the first time I ordered food
  295. 15:02in English at a restaurant it was a
  296. 15:04small thing but I felt so so
  297. 15:08proud celebrate moments like this did
  298. 15:12you have a conversation in English today
  299. 15:15that's amazing did you learn a new word
  300. 15:19that's
  301. 15:20progress every step you take is a step
  302. 15:23closer to your goal and when you make a
  303. 15:26mistake don't be discouraged in fact I
  304. 15:30want you to celebrate your
  305. 15:32mistakes why because mistakes are proof
  306. 15:36that you are trying each mistake is a
  307. 15:39lesson a chance to learn something
  308. 15:42new when I made mistakes I used to feel
  309. 15:46embarrassed but now I see them as
  310. 15:49opportunities to grow You are not alone
  311. 15:52in this journey there are millions of
  312. 15:56people around the world learning English
  313. 15:58just like you and many of them feel the
  314. 16:01same way nervous unsure and afraid to
  315. 16:05make mistakes but remember we are all
  316. 16:10Learners and learning is a lifelong
  317. 16:14process even native English speakers
  318. 16:16learn new things about their language
  319. 16:19every day if you ever feel stuck or if
  320. 16:22you feel like you're not improving fast
  321. 16:25enough I want you to take a deep breath
  322. 16:28and remind yourself that learning is a
  323. 16:31journey not a
  324. 16:33race some days you'll make big leaps and
  325. 16:36other days you'll take small steps both
  326. 16:40are important both bring you closer to
  327. 16:44your
  328. 16:45goal another important thing I want to
  329. 16:47talk about is
  330. 16:50confidence confidence doesn't come from
  331. 16:52being perfect it comes from believing in
  332. 16:56yourself and being willing to try
  333. 17:00when you speak English speak with
  334. 17:03confidence even if you're unsure of your
  335. 17:06words people will feel your energy and
  336. 17:09that's what
  337. 17:10matters confidence is something you
  338. 17:13build over time and the more you
  339. 17:16practice the stronger it
  340. 17:19becomes don't be afraid to practice with
  341. 17:22native speakers even if you think your
  342. 17:24English isn't good enough most people
  343. 17:27are kind and happy to help in fact many
  344. 17:32native speakers admire people who are
  345. 17:35learning a new language because they
  346. 17:37know how challenging it can be when I
  347. 17:40spoke to native speakers I was nervous
  348. 17:43at first but I quickly learned that they
  349. 17:45appreciated my effort and many even
  350. 17:48helped me
  351. 17:50improve also try to surround yourself
  352. 17:53with English as much as possible listen
  353. 17:56to English music watch English movies
  354. 18:00and read English books or articles the
  355. 18:03more you expose yourself to the language
  356. 18:06the more natural it will feel and don't
  357. 18:09worry if you don't understand everything
  358. 18:11at first over time your brain will start
  359. 18:15to pick up patterns and things will make
  360. 18:18more sense learning English can also be
  361. 18:22fun you can play games in English sing
  362. 18:25along to songs or even join online
  363. 18:29groups where people from all over the
  364. 18:31world practice English together there
  365. 18:35are so many ways to make learning
  366. 18:38enjoyable the key is to find what works
  367. 18:41best for you and to stay
  368. 18:44consistent and one more thing be kind to
  369. 18:48yourself learning a new language is one
  370. 18:51of the bravest things you can do it's
  371. 18:54not easy and it takes time but every day
  372. 18:58you spend learning is a step forward you
  373. 19:02might not see progress right away but
  374. 19:05it's happening you are getting better
  375. 19:07every single day at the end of the day
  376. 19:11remember why you're learning English
  377. 19:14whether it's for your career to travel
  378. 19:17to meet new people or to Simply
  379. 19:19challenge yourself hold on to that
  380. 19:23reason let it guide you and keep you
  381. 19:27motivated when the journey J feels long
  382. 19:30remind yourself of the doors that will
  383. 19:32open once you've mastered the language
  384. 19:36and as you continue on this journey I
  385. 19:39want to leave you with one final
  386. 19:42thought English is more than just words
  387. 19:46it's a bridge to new experiences new
  388. 19:50friendships and New
  389. 19:52Opportunities when you speak English you
  390. 19:55are not just learning a language you are
  391. 19:58stepping into a bigger world a world
  392. 20:02full of
  393. 20:03possibilities so keep speaking keep
  394. 20:06learning and never give up on
  395. 20:09yourself one day you will look back at
  396. 20:12this moment and realize how far you've
  397. 20:15come and that day you will smile and say
  398. 20:20I did
