  19. 0:59you need to start reading aloud opening
  20. 1:02up your mouth and maybe you're asking
  21. 1:04Tiffany why is this so important let me
  22. 1:07explain there are three reasons why it's
  23. 1:10so important for you if your goal is to
  24. 1:13improve your English rapidly even though
  25. 1:15you're studying alone the first reason
  26. 1:18why reading aloud is so important is it
  27. 1:21will improve your pronunciation and your
  28. 1:25intonation reading aloud helps you
  29. 1:28become more aware of the sounds and
  30. 1:31rhythms of English allowing you my
  31. 1:34friend to practice the correct
  32. 1:37pronunciation and intonation patterns

  35. 1:46be your English teacher so you know my
  36. 1:49patterns you know my intonation you know
  37. 1:51my pronunciation so when you start
  38. 1:54practicing and reading aloud even if you
  39. 1:57are
  40. 1:58alone you'll naturally start comparing
  41. 2:02your voice your pronunciation your

  44. 2:11boosting your English improving your
  45. 2:13English rapidly even when you study
  46. 2:16alone the second reason why this tip is
  47. 2:20so important is it enhances memory
  48. 2:23retention through auditory
  49. 2:27reinforcement hearing your own voice
  50. 2:30that's right your voice actually
  51. 2:33reinforces memory making it easier for

  57. 2:53the power of hearing your own voice on a
  58. 2:58regular basis you'll start to correct
  59. 3:01yourself and you'll start to remember
  60. 3:04things even faster so again memory
  61. 3:08retention and the third reason why
  62. 3:11reading aloud is so important is builds
  63. 3:15confidence in
  64. 3:17speaking regular
  65. 3:19practice regular practice can reduce
  66. 3:24anxiety about speaking in public and

  69. 3:33little bit discouraged at times because
  70. 3:35you're studying alone I know you feel
  71. 3:38like maybe someone else has a better
  72. 3:40situation or more opportunities because
  73. 3:43they might be
  74. 3:45surrounded by English
  75. 3:47learners but you have to remember it's
  76. 3:49not impossible for you even though
  77. 3:52you're studying alone it's not
  78. 3:54impossible for you to boost and improve
  79. 3:57your English rapidly Remember When you

  102. 5:10one enhances your listening skills and
  103. 5:15your comprehension you see exposure to
  104. 5:18different accents and speech
  105. 5:22speeds improves your ability to

  107. 5:28contexts you understand my pronunciation
  108. 5:32you understand my intonation you can
  109. 5:35follow my pace and my speed you're used
  110. 5:38to my voice but the more you listen to
  111. 5:43podcasts and watch other videos the more
  112. 5:46your ear will be able to pick up on
  113. 5:49different accents different
  114. 5:50pronunciation and different
  115. 5:53intonations this is going to affect your
  116. 5:56ability to speak English fluently the
  117. 5:59second second reason is it will expose
  118. 6:02you to various accents and colloquial
  119. 6:06Expressions understanding Regional
  120. 6:09accents and slang terms is crucial is
  121. 6:13imperative is super important for
  122. 6:17effective communication and it helps you
  123. 6:20sound more natural here's the deal I
  124. 6:24live on the east coast not too far from
  125. 6:27Washington DC so where I'm from we sound
  126. 6:31a certain way but if you go to the Deep
  127. 6:34South maybe if you go to Alabama or even
  128. 6:38if you go to the west coast to
  129. 6:40California you will hear different
  130. 6:44accents and your ear needs to get used
  131. 6:47to these accents remember we're talking
  132. 6:49about boosting your English rapidly if
  133. 6:52you want your listening skills to
  134. 6:54improve rapidly you need to listen to
  135. 6:56many different accents each of the
  136. 7:00individuals you're listening to can be
  137. 7:02American they can be British if you're
  138. 7:04looking for British English but
  139. 7:06listening to these different accents
  140. 7:08will enhance your listening skills which
  141. 7:10will automatically affect your speaking
  142. 7:13skills reason number three provides a

  145. 7:25scenarios helping you learn practical
  146. 7:28language use man and this happened to me
  147. 7:31when I was studying Korean you know that
  148. 7:33I speak Korean I lived in Korea for
  149. 7:35about 10 years and I remember as I was
  150. 7:38on my journey learning the language I
  151. 7:42would constantly watch different
  152. 7:44programs everyone speaking Korean I
  153. 7:47would listen to different music
  154. 7:50different podcasts why I wanted to get
  155. 7:53used to the accents I wanted to get used
  156. 7:56to the words the terms the expressions
  157. 7:59the slang that were being used in real
  158. 8:02life and this helped me when I went to

  170. 8:40are tons and tons of notebooks why I am
  171. 8:45in the habit of jotting down notes on a
  172. 8:47regular basis right when ideas come to
  173. 8:50mind even right in front of me I'll show
  174. 8:52you this is where I take my notes right
  175. 8:55for the day and this is something that I

  197. 9:59was your favorite phrase what was your
  198. 10:01favorite word what was your favorite tip

  204. 10:24influency and makes it easier to express
  205. 10:27ideas clearly
  206. 10:29listen when you have your notebook when
  207. 10:32you take it out and you start writing
  208. 10:35things down in order to write something
  209. 10:37down you must first think so you're
  210. 10:40starting to train yourself to think in
  211. 10:43English and then write down your
  212. 10:44thoughts what's going to happen now when
  213. 10:46you go to conversations you've been

  224. 11:23one of my newer notebooks right but in
  225. 11:26this notebook I've started to take notes
  226. 11:30and what's going to happen when I come
  227. 11:32back years from now and I look at this
  228. 11:35notebook I'll say ah I remember writing

  301. 15:06you're with someone else now let's check
  302. 15:09out the reasons why this is so important
  303. 15:12reason number one this builds speaking
  304. 15:16fluency and confidence you see regular
  305. 15:20practice helps you speak more smoothly
  306. 15:22and
  307. 15:23naturally smoothly and naturally number
  308. 15:29two it reinforces language structures
  309. 15:32and vocabulary you see speaking uses
  310. 15:36different parts of the brain compared to

  318. 16:03reason it mimics real life conversations
  319. 16:09you see practicing common phrases and

  327. 16:33speaking now tip number
  328. 16:37six
  329. 16:39record
  330. 16:41yourself record yourself listen record
  331. 16:45and listen to your speaking practice now
  332. 16:48you can do this by recording a video of
  333. 16:51yourself or you can record an audio clip
  334. 16:55this has done so much to help my
  335. 16:57students so I have stud students in my
  336. 16:59programs in the speak English like a
  337. 17:01native program and also my daily English
  338. 17:04lessons membership program you can find
  339. 17:06all of them at the speak English with
  340. 17:08Tiffany Academy Link in the description
  341. 17:11but I encourage each of my students to
  342. 17:14record themselves on a regular basis and
  343. 17:17the students that do it on a regular
  344. 17:19basis even if they are alone in their
  345. 17:22country no one else around them is able
  346. 17:24to speak English when they record
  347. 17:27themselves or when they record an audio
  348. 17:29clip I have watched them improve so
  349. 17:33quickly why is this the case here are
  350. 17:37the reasons why this tip is so important
  351. 17:39reason number one it helps you identify
  352. 17:41pronunciation and grammatical errors you
  353. 17:44see listening to recordings of yourself
  354. 17:48allows you to catch mistakes you might
  355. 17:50not notice while
  356. 17:53speaking next it allows for
  357. 17:56selfassessment and corre correction self
  358. 18:00assessment is a powerful is a powerful
  359. 18:04tool for improving language skills this
  360. 18:09is something that I need you to
  361. 18:11understand many times as an English
  362. 18:15learner many times you think that your
  363. 18:17teacher listen closely you think that
  364. 18:20your teacher is the most
  365. 18:24important that's not true you my friend
  366. 18:28are actually the most important listen
  367. 18:30carefully you see as your English
  368. 18:33teacher I'm honored I am happy and yes
  369. 18:35my role is important right as you're
  370. 18:38going on this English
  371. 18:39Journey however I am simply giving you
  372. 18:43the tools you need you my friend have to
  373. 18:48pick up those tools and actually use
  374. 18:51them if I only give you the tool and you
  375. 18:54never use it there's no point but once
  376. 18:59you receive the tool from me and decide
  377. 19:02to put this tool into practice into use
  378. 19:06you'll start seeing amazing results
  379. 19:08again going back to the power of self
  380. 19:12assessment you are the most important
  381. 19:14individual on your English Journey
  382. 19:17listen to yourself after you recorded
  383. 19:20yourself watch yourself if you recorded
  384. 19:22a video of yourself and start assessing
  385. 19:25yourself you'll be amazed at how quickly
  386. 19:29you'll improve the third reason is doing
  387. 19:32this builds confidence in speaking you
  388. 19:35see becoming accustomed to the sound of
  389. 19:38your own voice in English actually helps
  390. 19:41to reduce speaking anxiety you know what
  391. 19:45I'm talking about right when you get to
  392. 19:48a conversation and all of a sudden maybe
  393. 19:50your palms start sweating maybe you
  394. 19:52start shaking a bit because you get
  395. 19:54nervous right maybe you feel like your
  396. 19:55brain goes white you can't remember
  397. 19:57anything this is what anxiety feels
  398. 20:01like when you're going to speak English
  399. 20:04in a group
  400. 20:06situation but the more you practice
  401. 20:09recording yourself then listening to
  402. 20:12yourself or watching yourself the more

  517. 25:58time it is it's Story Time hey I said
  518. 26:03it's story time all right for today's
  519. 26:08story I actually want to just tell you
  520. 26:11something very short you know there's
  521. 26:14this phrase that has been said for
  522. 26:18decades it takes a village I'll say it
  523. 26:22again it takes a village now this phrase
  524. 26:27just means it takes people around a
  525. 26:32child to truly help them grow well
  526. 26:36mother and father they do amazing but
  527. 26:39grandparents are important aunts and
  528. 26:41uncles are important family members
  529. 26:44extended family members Friends Church
  530. 26:46members depending on where you live
  531. 26:48whoever is around you that is close to
  532. 26:50you it takes a village to truly raise a
  533. 26:54child and this happened to me when I was
  534. 26:57in South Korea again I taught thousands
  535. 26:59upon thousands of students and I
  536. 27:01remember working with kids kids bring so
  537. 27:05much joy to adults they have this
  538. 27:09Carefree attitude so many times because
  539. 27:11they don't have bills they don't have
  540. 27:13worries right but I remember I was
  541. 27:16working um at an Institute in yongan
  542. 27:19yongin in in Korea in South Korea and
  543. 27:23there were two young ladies they were
  544. 27:25best friends they might have been nine
  545. 27:27years old and every day they'd come to
  546. 27:29class holding hands they'd come to class
  547. 27:32laughing talking about their day they
  548. 27:34always seemed so happy but on this
  549. 27:37day I noticed something different they
  550. 27:40came in separately and they had kind of
  551. 27:43a frown each of them had a frown on
  552. 27:46their
  553. 27:46face so before I taught the class I
  554. 27:50decided to step out with the two young
  555. 27:53ladies so I had the other students do
  556. 27:55something while I was stepping out of
  557. 27:57the room
  558. 27:58and at this time I was speaking to them
  559. 28:00in Korean because when there are things
  560. 28:03going on you want to make sure the kid
  561. 28:04can express him or herself in a way that
  562. 28:06is comfortable so I asked the young
  563. 28:08ladies hey what's wrong you both kind of
  564. 28:11look sad or upset and they proceeded to
  565. 28:14tell me that they had had an argument at
  566. 28:15school and they were mad at each other
  567. 28:17and they were expressing themselves and
  568. 28:19I could tell that there was still a lot
  569. 28:20of
  570. 28:21tension and In This Moment these two
  571. 28:23young ladies who were not my
  572. 28:26daughters I saw them for for 30
  573. 28:29minutes four times a
  574. 28:31week I wasn't even around them for a
  575. 28:34large portion of their day but I
  576. 28:37remembered that it takes a
  577. 28:40village I thought to myself if I
  578. 28:44actually were the mother of these two
  579. 28:47young ladies what would I say to
  580. 28:49them and I proceeded to explain to them
  581. 28:52the value of friendship the value of
  582. 28:55communication the value of conflict
  583. 28:58resolution and I told them hey you guys
  584. 29:01can work this out you guys are really
  585. 29:04good friends don't let one argument
  586. 29:06destroy your friendship and so I
  587. 29:08remember literally like it was yesterday
  588. 29:10giving them this advice and this
  589. 29:11happened well over eight years ago I
  590. 29:13think maybe seven seven or eight years
  591. 29:16ago I remember giving them this
  592. 29:18advice and this story popped into my
  593. 29:20head because the same is true of you it
  594. 29:25takes a village
  595. 29:28even adults when we have a goal when
  596. 29:32there's something we're trying to
  597. 29:34achieve it takes a village many times
  598. 29:38think about it I'm your English teacher
  599. 29:41I'm passionate about it I love it I
  600. 29:43can't wait to see you achieve your
  601. 29:46English goals even though we've never
  602. 29:48met in
  603. 29:49person you have a goal but it takes a
  604. 29:54village I might not be your only English
  605. 29:56teacher there might might be another
  606. 29:58English teacher online that you follow
  607. 30:00he or she has helped you as well you
  608. 30:02might have a friend who is where you're
  609. 30:04trying to go and he or she has been
  610. 30:07helping you there might be another
  611. 30:09teacher in your actual City that's
  612. 30:12helping you it takes a village what I'm
  613. 30:15trying to tell you is on your English
  614. 30:18Journey you really are not alone it
  615. 30:22might feel like you're physically alone
  616. 30:25but you're not alone I tell students in
  617. 30:28my Academy all the time that I love
  618. 30:31Community I love fostering and building
  619. 30:34Community because people grow when there
  620. 30:37are people around them so my students in
  621. 30:40my Academy they we have a private group
  622. 30:42and they talk all day they have meetings
  623. 30:45throughout the week and I love watching
  624. 30:48them grow because it takes a village so
  625. 30:52as you go throughout the rest of this
  626. 30:53week throughout the rest of this day
  627. 30:55never forget that it takes a village and
  628. 30:58that you're never really alone I love
  629. 31:01you I'll talk to you in the next lesson
