How to Speak These 7 Words Before Sleep—and Wake Up Different | E.W. Kenyon Revelation — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00The last words you speak before sleep
- 0:02are the first words your subconscious
- 0:04repeats all night.
- 0:06Say the wrong ones and you wake up
- 0:07defeated.
- 0:09Say these seven and you wake up already
- 0:12in position.
- 0:13>> [clears throat]
- 0:13>> Kenyon called this the quietest, most
- 0:16powerful moment of the believer's day
- 0:18and almost nobody uses it.
- 0:21Think about that.
- 0:22There is a window every single night,
- 0:25roughly 90 seconds long, where your
- 0:27spirit is louder than your circumstances
- 0:30and your mind has stopped arguing.
- 0:3290 seconds where the day has finally
- 0:35shut its mouth.
- 0:37And what do most believers do with it?
- 0:39They lie there and rehearse the
- 0:41argument. They replay the bill. They run
- 0:44the diagnosis through their head one
- 0:46more time.
- 0:47They fall asleep confessing fear.
- 0:50And then they wonder why they wake up at
- 0:526:00 in the morning already tired,
- 0:55already heavy, already losing.
- 0:58You have been fighting a battle in the
- 1:00daylight that was actually decided in
- 1:02the dark.
- 1:04There are seven words. They are not a
- 1:06mantra. They are not a trick. They are a
- 1:09legal statement lifted straight out of
- 1:12the new covenant.
- 1:13And when a man puts them on his tongue
- 1:15as the last thing he says before he
- 1:17loses consciousness,
- 1:19something begins to work in him that
- 1:21religion never told him existed.
- 1:24Kenyon knew it.
- 1:26He wrote about the hidden man of the
- 1:28heart, the part of you that never
- 1:30sleeps, the part that keeps working the
- 1:32whole night through on whatever you
- 1:34handed it last.
- 1:36Most people handed it a complaint.
- 1:39Tonight, you are going to hand it a
- 1:42covenant.
- 1:43Before we go one sentence further, do
- 1:46something for me.
- 1:47Type the word ready in the comments
- 1:49below. Just that one word.
- 1:52I want to know how many of you are done
- 1:54sleeping like an orphan in your father's
- 1:56house.
- 1:57Because here is the shock line, and I
- 1:59want you to sit with it.
- 2:01If you have been going to bed in fear
- 2:03for the last 10 years,
- 2:05you have not been sleeping.
- 2:07You have been rehearsing.
- 2:10Now, let me tell you exactly what you
- 2:12are going to walk away with.
- 2:14By the end of these next minutes, you
- 2:16will know the seven words. You will know
- 2:18why they work, and you will know it from
- 2:21the King James text, not from a feeling,
- 2:23and not from somebody's opinion.
- 2:26You will be able to open your Bible and
- 2:28put your finger on the verse and say,
- 2:30"There it is. That is my legal ground."
- 2:34You will know what actually happens
- 2:35inside a man between the hours of 11:00
- 2:37at night and 5:00 in the morning. Not
- 2:40the psychology of it, the spiritual
- 2:42mechanics of it.
- 2:44You will understand why the same problem
- 2:46that felt manageable at 2:00 in the
- 2:47afternoon feels like a mountain at 2:00
- 2:50in the morning.
- 2:51And you will know what to do about it in
- 2:53about 11 seconds.
- 2:55You will never again lie in the dark and
- 2:57let your imagination preach a sermon to
- 3:00you.
- 3:00You will preach to it instead.
- 3:03You are going to learn three exercises,
- 3:06not theories, exercises. Things you can
- 3:09do tonight, before you sleep tonight,
- 3:12with no book, no app, no candle, no
- 3:15music, and no special conditions.
- 3:18If you are lying in a hospital chair
- 3:20beside somebody you love, you can do
- 3:22them.
- 3:23>> [clears throat]
- 3:23>> If you're in a truck cab at a rest stop,
- 3:25you can do them.
- 3:26If you're in a marriage where you cannot
- 3:28say anything out loud without starting a
- 3:30war, you can do them silently, and they
- 3:33will still work.
- 3:35And I will tell you exactly why.
- 3:37And you are going to walk out of this
- 3:39teaching with something most believers
- 3:41never get in a lifetime of church
- 3:43attendance.
- 3:44Confidence in the dark.
- 3:46That is the phrase. Confidence in the
- 3:49dark.
- 3:50Anybody can have confidence at 11:00 on
- 3:52a Sunday morning with 400 people singing
- 3:55around him and a band [clears throat]
- 3:56behind him that costs nothing.
- 3:58The test of what you actually believe is
- 4:01not what you shout in a crowd. The test
- 4:03is what you say to yourself when the
- 4:05house is quiet and the lamp is off and
- 4:08there is nobody left to impress.
- 4:10What you say then is what you actually
- 4:13believe. Everything else is performance.
- 4:17This teaching answers four questions and
- 4:19I want you to hold them in your mind as
- 4:21we go.
- 4:22The first question.
- 4:24Why do my prayers feel strong in the day
- 4:26and weak at night?
- 4:28The second question.
- 4:30What is actually happening in my spirit
- 4:33while my body is asleep?
- 4:35The third question.
- 4:37What exactly are the seven words and why
- 4:40these seven and not some other seven?
- 4:43And the fourth question, which is the
- 4:44one that really matters.
- 4:46How do I make this a permanent habit so
- 4:49that six months from now I am a
- 4:51structurally different man?
- 4:53I'm going to answer all four flatly
- 4:56without hedging. But before I can build
- 4:59anything in you, I have to take
- 5:01something out. Because there is a lie
- 5:03sitting in the foundation of your life.
- 5:06And until we get it out, nothing I build
- 5:08on top of it will hold weight.
- 5:11So let me describe your condition and I
- 5:13want you to know something before I
- 5:15start.
- 5:16I am not describing you to shame you. I
- 5:19am describing you so that you know you
- 5:21have been seen and so that you stop
- 5:23thinking you are the only one.
- 5:26Here is your life.
- 5:28You pray. You pray sincerely. You pray
- 5:31with words you learned from people who
- 5:33prayed before you. And somewhere in the
- 5:35middle of it, a thought crosses your
- 5:37mind that you would never say out loud
- 5:39in a small group. The thought is I do
- 5:42not think this is doing anything.
- 5:45You push that thought down. You feel
- 5:47guilty for having it. You pray a little
- 5:50louder to cover it up, and you get up
- 5:52off your knees exactly as heavy as you
- 5:54were when you knelt down.
- 5:56You read your Bible.
- 5:58You read it in the morning because
- 6:00somebody told you the morning was
- 6:01better.
- 6:02You read three chapters, and by the time
- 6:04you have showered and gotten in the car,
- 6:06you could not tell me one thing you
- 6:08read, not one sentence. It went through
- 6:11you like water through a screen.
- 6:14So, you conclude that you are bad at
- 6:16this, that other people have some gift
- 6:18for it that you were not given.
- 6:20You make confessions.
- 6:22You heard a teaching somewhere about
- 6:24speaking the word, so you stood in your
- 6:26bathroom and you said, "I am healed. I
- 6:29am prosperous. I am more than a
- 6:32conqueror."
- 6:33And the whole time you were saying it,
- 6:35there was a second voice in the back of
- 6:37your head saying, "No, you are not. Look
- 6:40at your body. Look at your account. Look
- 6:42at your marriage."
- 6:44And after about 9 days, you quit because
- 6:47it felt like lying.
- 6:49It felt like a man in a hole shouting
- 6:51that he is on a mountain top.
- 6:53You have a Bible with underlining in the
- 6:55first third and nothing after that.
- 6:58You have a prayer list with names on it
- 7:00that have been there for 6 years.
- 7:02You have a moment, usually around 2:00
- 7:05or 3:00 in the morning, where you wake
- 7:07up for no reason at all, and within 4
- 7:09seconds, your mind has located the worst
- 7:12thing in your life and put it under a
- 7:14spotlight.
- 7:15Not the second worst, the worst.
- 7:18And you lie there in the dark, and you
- 7:20have a full conversation with the
- 7:22problem. You argue with people who are
- 7:25not in the room. You lose the argument,
- 7:28and then you fall back asleep somewhere
- 7:29near 4:00, and you wake up at 6:00
- 7:32feeling like you have been in a fight.
- 7:34You have been in a fight. You just did
- 7:36not know you were allowed to fight back.
- 7:39Now, here is where I'm going to say
- 7:41something that is going to cut across
- 7:43nearly everything you have been told.
- 7:45Your problem is not sin.
- 7:48I know that is where your mind went. It
- 7:51always goes there. When a believer's
- 7:53life is not working, the first thing
- 7:55tradition teaches him to do is go
- 7:57looking for a sin to blame it on.
- 8:00So, you comb through your week trying to
- 8:03find the offense that shut heaven.
- 8:05Maybe I lost my temper.
- 8:07Maybe I looked at something I should not
- 8:09have looked at.
- 8:10Maybe I have not been faithful enough
- 8:12with my giving.
- 8:14And so, you spend your spiritual life as
- 8:16an amateur detective investigating
- 8:19yourself.
- 8:20And you never once consider that the
- 8:22case was closed 2,000 years ago by a
- 8:25signature in blood.
- 8:27Your problem is not sincerity, either.
- 8:30Nobody is more sincere than a believer
- 8:32who is desperate.
- 8:34Sincerity is not your issue.
- 8:37There are sincere men lying awake
- 8:39tonight in the exact same condition you
- 8:41were in.
- 8:42Sincerity does not move a legal
- 8:44document.
- 8:45If a man loses his house because he
- 8:47never read the clauses on page four of
- 8:49his mortgage, his sincerity does not get
- 8:52the house back. He was sincere the
- 8:54entire time he was losing it. And your
- 8:57problem is certainly not that God has
- 9:00gone quiet.
- 9:01Let me be very direct with you. God is
- 9:04not silent. He is not in a mood. He is
- 9:07not turned his face. He is not
- 9:10withholding until you get your act
- 9:11together.
- 9:12Every one of those ideas came out of
- 9:14tradition. And tradition is a liar with
- 9:18a nice suit on.
- 9:20Here is what your problem actually is.
- 9:22You are ignorant of a legal reality.
- 9:26That is all. That is the whole thing.
- 9:28Not stupid, not rebellious, not unloved,
- 9:32ignorant.
- 9:34There is a document with your name on
- 9:36it. And there are rights inside that
- 9:38document, and nobody ever taught you how
- 9:41to read it.
- 9:42And so, you have been living beneath a
- 9:44standard that was purchased for you, and
- 9:46deeded to you, and legally transferred
- 9:49to your account before you were ever
- 9:51born.
- 9:52And here is the specific ignorance this
- 9:54teaching is going to destroy.
- 9:57You think your spirit sleeps when your
- 9:59body sleeps.
- 10:01It does not. It never has.
- 10:03Your body sleeps.
- 10:05Your reasoning mind, the part of you
- 10:08that argues and calculates and worries,
- 10:11that part finally lets go.
- 10:14But the hidden man of the heart, the
- 10:16recreated human spirit, the real you,
- 10:19does not shut down.
- 10:21He keeps working. He keeps holding. He
- 10:24keeps repeating.
- 10:26And whatever you hand him at the door of
- 10:27sleep, he works on all night long.
- 10:31Not in a mystical sense, in a functional
- 10:33sense.
- 10:34It is how you were built.
- 10:36Which means every night of your life,
- 10:39you have been assigning your spirit a
- 10:40task. Every single night, without
- 10:43knowing it.
- 10:45And most of you have been assigning him
- 10:47fear.
- 10:48You have been handing the strongest part
- 10:50of you a fear to meditate on for 8
- 10:52hours, and then acting surprised when
- 10:55you wake up believing the fear more than
- 10:57you did the night before.
- 10:59That is not a mystery. That is
- 11:01mathematics.
- 11:02Whatever a man's spirit rehearses in the
- 11:04dark becomes what his mouth defends in
- 11:07the light.
- 11:09The enemy does not need to defeat you.
- 11:12He just needs to be the last voice you
- 11:14agree with before you close your eyes.
- 11:16Once you see that, you cannot unsee it.
- 11:20And the church has largely lost this.
- 11:22We built entire ministries around what a
- 11:24man does at 9:00 in the morning, and we
- 11:27surrendered the most fertile 90 seconds
- 11:29of his day without a single sermon on
- 11:31it.
- 11:32Not tonight. Tonight, you take it back.
- 11:36Now, let us build this out of the book
- 11:39because I am not asking you to trust my
- 11:40experience. I am asking you to stand on
- 11:43a text.
- 11:45Open with me to 1 John chapter 4 verse
- 11:474.
- 11:48The Bible says, "Ye are of God, little
- 11:51children, and have overcome them because
- 11:54greater is he that is in you than he
- 11:57that is in the world."
- 11:59There it is. That is the sentence. Read
- 12:02the second half of it out loud right
- 12:04now, wherever you are.
- 12:06Greater is he that is in me.
- 12:09Count the words.
- 12:10Greater is he that is in me.
- 12:13Seven words. That is not a coincidence,
- 12:16and it is not a gimmick. That is the
- 12:19shortest complete statement of your
- 12:21covenant standing in the entire New
- 12:23Testament.
- 12:24Seven words that contain your identity,
- 12:27your resource, your location, and your
- 12:30legal advantage, all in one breath.
- 12:33And it is short enough that a man half
- 12:35asleep, with his eyes already closed,
- 12:37can still say it.
- 12:39Now, let me open the Greek for you
- 12:41because there is a word in that verse
- 12:43that has been flattened by 400 years of
- 12:46familiar reading.
- 12:47The word translated greater is the Greek
- 12:50word mazon.
- 12:52And in plain English, mazon does not
- 12:54mean nicer. It does not mean more
- 12:56spiritual.
- 12:58It is a comparative word of size, rank,
- 13:01capacity, and authority.
- 13:03It is the word you would use for a
- 13:05larger vessel against a smaller one, a
- 13:07higher officer against a lower one, a
- 13:10greater weight against a lesser weight.
- 13:13When John says, "Greater is he that is
- 13:15in you," he is not offering you comfort.
- 13:18He is filing a comparison of ranks.
- 13:21He is telling you that the one resident
- 13:23inside your spirit outranks, outweighs,
- 13:26and outsizes anything that is currently
- 13:29standing in your living room, your body,
- 13:31or your bank statement. You are not
- 13:34evenly matched with your problem. You
- 13:36never were.
- 13:37The fight was never fair. And it was
- 13:40never unfair in the direction you
- 13:42assumed.
- 13:43Now, hold that and go to 1 Peter chapter
- 13:463 verse 4.
- 13:48Peter is writing about adornment, and in
- 13:51the middle of it, he drops a phrase that
- 13:53Kenyon built half a lifetime on.
- 13:56The Bible says,
- 13:57"But let it be the hidden man of the
- 13:59heart, in that which is not corruptible,
- 14:02even the ornament of a meek and
- 14:04[clears throat] quiet spirit, which is
- 14:06in the sight of God of great price."
- 14:09The hidden man of the heart.
- 14:12Peter is telling you plainly that there
- 14:14is a man inside the man.
- 14:16There is a you that nobody has ever
- 14:19seen. Not your wife, not your mother,
- 14:22not the mirror.
- 14:23That hidden man is not corruptible,
- 14:26which means he is not subject to decay
- 14:28the way your body is.
- 14:30He does not age. He does not get tired
- 14:33at the end of a shift. He does not need
- 14:358 hours.
- 14:37He is the real you.
- 14:39And he is described as being of great
- 14:41price in the sight of God,
- 14:43which is legal language about value and
- 14:46worth.
- 14:47And that hidden man is awake right now.
- 14:50He will be awake tonight when the rest
- 14:52of you shuts down.
- 14:54Which brings us to a verse most
- 14:55believers have read 100 times and never
- 14:58once stopped on.
- 15:00Psalm chapter 16 verse 7.
- 15:03David writes, "I will bless the Lord who
- 15:06hath given me counsel.
- 15:08My reins also instruct me in the night
- 15:11seasons."
- 15:12Now, the word reins in the King James is
- 15:15the Old English word for the kidneys.
- 15:18And in Hebrew thought, the kidneys stood
- 15:20for the innermost, deepest, most hidden
- 15:23part of a man.
- 15:24It is the exact same idea Peter is
- 15:26reaching for. The part of you that sits
- 15:29underneath your reasoning.
- 15:31David is saying that the deepest part of
- 15:33him gives him instruction. And notice
- 15:36when.
- 15:38In the night seasons. Not in the morning
- 15:40devotional, in the night seasons.
- 15:43David had discovered that something in
- 15:45him keeps working after the lamps go
- 15:48out.
- 15:49He is telling you that the inward
- 15:51monitor speaks most clearly at the hour
- 15:53when your senses have finally stopped
- 15:56shouting.
- 15:57All day long your five senses are
- 15:59testifying. Your eyes are testifying.
- 16:02Your ears are testifying. Your bank app
- 16:05is testifying. And your spirit cannot
- 16:07get a word in edgewise.
- 16:10Then the house goes quiet.
- 16:12And suddenly the smallest voice in the
- 16:15building is the only voice in the
- 16:17building.
- 16:18That is why the enemy fights so hard for
- 16:21that hour.
- 16:22He knows that whoever gets the
- 16:24microphone at 11:00 at night gets the
- 16:26man.
- 16:28Now take Proverbs chapter 6 verses 21
- 16:31and 22.
- 16:33Solomon is speaking about the
- 16:34commandment and the law of his father.
- 16:37And he says,
- 16:38"Bind them continually upon thine heart,
- 16:41and tie them about thy neck. When thou
- 16:43goest, it shall lead thee.
- 16:46When thou sleepest, it shall keep thee.
- 16:48And when thou awakest, it shall talk
- 16:51with thee."
- 16:52Read that middle clause again.
- 16:55"When thou sleepest, it shall keep
- 16:57thee."
- 16:58The word you bind on your heart is
- 17:00described as a keeper while you sleep.
- 17:03Not a keeper that watches you from a
- 17:05distance.
- 17:06A keeper that is bound on, tied about
- 17:09the neck, attached.
- 17:11And then look at the last clause.
- 17:13"When thou awakest, it shall talk with
- 17:16thee."
- 17:17Whatever you bind on at night is the
- 17:19thing that will be speaking to you when
- 17:21your eyes open.
- 17:22So, the question is not whether
- 17:24something will be talking to you
- 17:25tomorrow morning. Something will.
- 17:28The only question is what you hired for
- 17:30the job tonight.
- 17:32And one more. Psalm 127 verse 2.
- 17:36The Bible says,
- 17:38"It is vain for you to rise up early, to
- 17:40sit up late, to eat the bread of
- 17:42sorrows,
- 17:44for so he giveth his beloved sleep."
- 17:47Eating the bread of sorrows.
- 17:50What a phrase that is.
- 17:52A man at midnight chewing on his
- 17:54troubles, feeding on them, turning them
- 17:57over and over in his mouth like a piece
- 17:59of gristle.
- 18:00And God calls it vain, which means
- 18:03empty, which means it produces nothing.
- 18:06You have eaten that bread. You have
- 18:09gotten up at 3:00 in the morning and
- 18:11served yourself a full plate of it. And
- 18:13by dawn, you will not $1 richer or 1°
- 18:17healthier for it.
- 18:19He giveth his beloved sleep. That is a
- 18:22covenant provision.
- 18:24Sleep is not simply a biological event.
- 18:27In the new covenant, it is a place of
- 18:29supply.
- 18:30Now, put all five of those together and
- 18:32see what you are holding.
- 18:34There is a hidden man in you who never
- 18:36sleeps. He instructs you in the night
- 18:39seasons.
- 18:40Whatever word you bind on him at night
- 18:42keeps you through the night and talks to
- 18:44you in the morning.
- 18:46And the one resident in that hidden man
- 18:48outranks everything arrayed against you.
- 18:51That is not inspiration. That is a legal
- 18:54brief.
- 18:55And it means the last sentence of your
- 18:57day is not a small thing.
- 19:00It is the most strategically important
- 19:02sentence you speak in a 24-hour period.
- 19:05And you have been throwing it away on
- 19:08weather reports and worry.
- 19:10Let me tell you a story.
- 19:12Slow down with me here, because this is
- 19:14the part I want you to still be thinking
- 19:16about next Tuesday.
- 19:18Picture a walled town in the dead of
- 19:20winter, somewhere in old Europe 400
- 19:23years ago.
- 19:25It sits on a low hill with a river on
- 19:27one side and forest on the other.
- 19:30It has one main gate banded in iron and
- 19:33a smaller postern gate on the north wall
- 19:35that only the watch uses.
- 19:38Around this town for 19 days an army has
- 19:41been camped.
- 19:43The town is starving.
- 19:45Not dramatically. Slowly.
- 19:48The kind of starving where the bread
- 19:49gets darker every week until one day it
- 19:52is not really bread anymore.
- 19:55The horses are gone. The dogs are gone.
- 19:59Children have stopped playing in the
- 20:00square because they do not have the
- 20:02energy for it.
- 20:03Every morning the men on the
- 20:05[clears throat] wall count the enemy
- 20:06campfires. And every morning there are
- 20:09more of them, not [clears throat] fewer.
- 20:11Inside the town there is a council of
- 20:14seven men and they have been arguing for
- 20:16six days about whether to open the gate.
- 20:19The argument is simple. If they
- 20:21surrender now, they can negotiate. If
- 20:24they wait until the wall is breached,
- 20:26there will be no negotiation.
- 20:28There will only be what soldiers do to a
- 20:30town that made them wait.
- 20:33And on the 19th night, with the vote
- 20:35scheduled for dawn, a rider comes.
- 20:38He comes alone in the dark from the
- 20:40north through country that no one
- 20:42thought was possible in that snow.
- 20:44He has ridden four days. His horse is
- 20:47finished.
- 20:49The watch on the postern gate almost
- 20:51kills him before they realize he is not
- 20:53one of theirs.
- 20:54They drag him in over the ice and he
- 20:56cannot stand and he cannot really speak
- 20:59and they carry him into the guardhouse
- 21:01and set him by the fire.
- 21:04And there is a man in that guardhouse.
- 21:06Let us call him the keeper of the north
- 21:09gate.
- 21:10He is 51 years old.
- 21:12He has buried a wife and two of his four
- 21:15children.
- 21:16He has been on that wall every night for
- 21:1819 nights.
- 21:20And he has stopped believing that
- 21:22anything is coming.
- 21:24The rider reaches inside his coat and
- 21:26pulls out a leather tube.
- 21:28And out of the tube, he takes a
- 21:30document. And the document has a seal on
- 21:32it. Wax, deep red, pressed with the sign
- 21:36of the sovereign whose lands these are.
- 21:39And he presses it into the keeper's
- 21:40hands. And he says four words before he
- 21:44loses consciousness.
- 21:45He says,
- 21:47"The relief is coming."
- 21:49Let me slow down on that seal, because
- 21:52the seal is the whole story.
- 21:55In that world, a seal was not
- 21:57decoration. A seal was jurisdiction.
- 22:01A man could not read, and it did not
- 22:03matter, because a man could recognize a
- 22:06seal.
- 22:07That pressed wax meant that the words
- 22:10above it were not the opinion of the man
- 22:12who carried them. They were the will of
- 22:14the man who pressed them.
- 22:16The rider had no authority at all. He
- 22:20was a body on a horse, but the thing
- 22:22inside his coat carried the full weight
- 22:24of a throne. And it carried that weight
- 22:27whether he was believed or not, whether
- 22:30he arrived warm or half dead, whether
- 22:33anybody in that guardhouse liked the
- 22:34look of him or not. That is important.
- 22:38The power was never in the messenger. It
- 22:41was in the wax. And the wax was red,
- 22:44because in that house, the sovereign
- 22:46sealed in red. Every order of relief he
- 22:49ever issued from the first year of his
- 22:51reign went out under red wax. Any
- 22:54officer in that country could have
- 22:56picked it up in a dark room and known by
- 22:58the color alone what he was holding. The
- 23:01keeper knew. He had seen that color
- 23:03before.
- 23:04He knew exactly what red wax meant.
- 23:08Now, here is where the story turns, and
- 23:10here is where I need you to pay
- 23:12attention.
- 23:14The keeper of the Northgate takes that
- 23:15document. He looks at it, and he does
- 23:18not read it.
- 23:20Why not?
- 23:21Not because he cannot. He can read. He
- 23:23is not a peasant. He is a gate officer.
- 23:26He does not read it because it is 3:00
- 23:28in the morning, and he is exhausted, and
- 23:31he has been disappointed 19 times.
- 23:34And somewhere in the last 2 weeks, a
- 23:37thing broke inside him that he cannot
- 23:39name.
- 23:40He looks at that red seal, and instead
- 23:43of hope, he feels a kind of irritation.
- 23:46Another promise.
- 23:48Another piece of paper from men who are
- 23:50warm tonight.
- 23:52So, he sets it on the table by the fire.
- 23:55He tells himself he will read it when it
- 23:56is light.
- 23:58He puts his head back against the stone
- 24:00wall of the guardhouse, and he closes
- 24:02his eyes.
- 24:03And the last thing he says to himself
- 24:05before he sleeps is this.
- 24:08It is over.
- 24:09We will open the gate at dawn.
- 24:12That is his last confession.
- 24:14It is over.
- 24:16We will open the gate at dawn.
- 24:19And he sleeps for 3 hours with the
- 24:21relief of the entire town lying face up
- 24:24on a table 20 in from his hand.
- 24:27At first light, the council meets.
- 24:30The keeper walks into that room carrying
- 24:32nothing.
- 24:33He does not mention the rider because in
- 24:36his mind, the rider does not matter.
- 24:39And the vote goes the way exhausted men
- 24:41vote.
- 24:42They open the gate. They surrender the
- 24:44town. They accept terms.
- 24:48Men are marched out. The storehouses are
- 24:50opened.
- 24:52It is all done by 11:00 in the morning.
- 24:55At 2:00 that afternoon, the relief
- 24:57column comes out of the tree line to the
- 24:59north.
- 25:0011 men, cavalry on the flanks, 4 days
- 25:04out from the capital, exactly as the
- 25:06document said.
- 25:07They came over the same country the
- 25:09rider came over.
- 25:11They arrived 3 hours too late to a town
- 25:13that had already opened its gate because
- 25:16the man holding the writ went to sleep
- 25:18on it.
- 25:19And here is the detail I want burned
- 25:22into you.
- 25:23That document was not a prediction. It
- 25:26was not encouragement. It was not a nice
- 25:29word from a distant king to keep morale
- 25:31up.
- 25:32It was an order of relief, signed and
- 25:35sealed, which meant that from the moment
- 25:37the seal was pressed, the town had a
- 25:40legal claim on that army.
- 25:42The relief did not become real when it
- 25:45came out of the trees at 2:00 in the
- 25:46afternoon.
- 25:48It became real when the seal went into
- 25:50the wax 4 days earlier in a warm room
- 25:53100 miles away.
- 25:56Everything after that was just the
- 25:57paperwork arriving in physical form.
- 26:01The town did not lose because help was
- 26:03not coming.
- 26:04The town lost because the man who was
- 26:06holding the proof that help was coming
- 26:09fell asleep saying, "It is over now."
- 26:12I want you to see the object, not the
- 26:15army, not the war.
- 26:17The document sealed in red wax lying on
- 26:20a table by a fire with a man asleep next
- 26:23to it.
- 26:24That is the picture.
- 26:26Hold it because you are that man.
- 26:30You are that man
- 26:31>> [clears throat]
- 26:31>> and you are holding a weapon you do not
- 26:33know how to use.
- 26:35You have the document. You have it right
- 26:37now.
- 26:38It is in the drawer beside your bed or
- 26:41it is on a shelf in your living room
- 26:43under a stack of mail
- 26:44or it is on your phone in an app you
- 26:47opened twice in March.
- 26:49And it is not a prediction. And it is
- 26:52not encouragement. It is a sealed legal
- 26:55instrument, and the seal was not pressed
- 26:57in wax.
- 26:59The Bible says it was pressed in blood.
- 27:02And for 19 nights, or 19 months, or 19
- 27:06years, you have been laying it on the
- 27:08table and going to sleep saying, "It is
- 27:11over."
- 27:12You have said, "I do not see a way out
- 27:14of this."
- 27:15You have said, "This marriage is
- 27:17finished." You have said, "My body is
- 27:20just going to be like this now." You
- 27:22have said, "I am too old. I am too far
- 27:25behind. I missed my window."
- 27:28Those are your last confessions.
- 27:31That is what you have been handing the
- 27:33hidden man of the heart at 3:00 in the
- 27:35morning.
- 27:36And then you wake up and you vote to
- 27:38open the gate, and you call it being
- 27:40realistic, and you have no idea that 3
- 27:44hours out from your position, there is a
- 27:46provision already dispatched with your
- 27:48name on the order.
- 27:50Do you understand what I am telling you?
- 27:53Every time you go to sleep agreeing with
- 27:55the siege, you are not being humble. You
- 27:58are not being sober. You are functioning
- 28:01as a gate officer who will not read his
- 28:03own relief order.
- 28:05And notice something else about that
- 28:06keeper.
- 28:07Nobody in that town ever blamed him.
- 28:10They never even knew.
- 28:12He died an old man, and people spoke
- 28:15well of him at his funeral.
- 28:16He lost the town, and it cost him
- 28:19nothing socially.
- 28:20And that is exactly how this works with
- 28:23you.
- 28:24Nobody at your church is going to
- 28:25confront you about what you say to
- 28:27yourself at 11:40 at night.
- 28:29There is no accountability group for
- 28:31your final sentence of the day.
- 28:33The most costly words you speak are the
- 28:36ones nobody will ever hear,
- 28:38which is why nobody has ever corrected
- 28:40them until tonight.
- 28:43Tonight, somebody is finally telling you
- 28:46what is on the table by the fire.
- 28:48And tonight, before you sleep, you are
- 28:50going to pick it up, and you are going
- 28:52to break the seal, and you are going to
- 28:54read the seven words out loud in the
- 28:57dark.
- 28:58Greater is he that is in me.
- 29:01That is the writ.
- 29:03That is the relief order. That is the
- 29:06sentence that says the fight is not
- 29:08even.
- 29:09The odds are not what the campfire
- 29:11suggests, and there is a column already
- 29:13moving through the trees.
- 29:16Now, let me show you where that seal
- 29:17came from, because a document is only as
- 29:20good as the authority behind it.
- 29:23There was a night in a garden where a
- 29:24man knelt down and made a decision on
- 29:27your behalf.
- 29:28And what happened over the following 18
- 29:30hours was not primarily an emotional
- 29:33event. It was a legal transaction.
- 29:37Kenyon called it the great exchange, and
- 29:40until you see it as an exchange, you
- 29:42will keep treating the cross as a rescue
- 29:44from punishment and nothing more. And
- 29:46you will keep living like a pardoned
- 29:48criminal instead of a seated son.
- 29:52An exchange means two things move.
- 29:55Something leaves, and something arrives.
- 29:58If only one thing moves, it is a gift or
- 30:01a theft. It is not an exchange.
- 30:04And the new covenant is built on the
- 30:06fact that two things moved. Hear what
- 30:09Paul writes in 2 Corinthians chapter 5
- 30:11verse 21.
- 30:13For he hath made him to be sin for us,
- 30:16who knew no sin,
- 30:17that we might be made the righteousness
- 30:19of God in him.
- 30:22Read the traffic in that verse. Sin went
- 30:25one direction. Righteousness came the
- 30:27other.
- 30:28He took the thing that legally
- 30:29disqualified you, and he was made it.
- 30:33Not treated as it, made it. And in
- 30:35exchange, you were made the
- 30:37righteousness of God in him. Not
- 30:40declared slightly better, made
- 30:42righteousness. Those are the two
- 30:45heaviest words in your Bible and they
- 30:47are sitting in the same sentence and
- 30:49they traded places.
- 30:51Now, I want you to run that through your
- 30:53whole life because Paul did not intend
- 30:55it to stay theological.
- 30:57Your sin went to him. His righteousness
- 31:01came to you. That is the first pair.
- 31:04Your spiritual death, the thing you
- 31:06inherited from Adam, the thing that made
- 31:08you an outsider by nature, went to him.
- 31:12His life, the God kind of life, came to
- 31:15you. Second pair. Your sickness went to
- 31:18him.
- 31:20Isaiah chapter 53 verse 5 says, "But he
- 31:23was wounded for our transgressions. He
- 31:26was bruised for our iniquities. The
- 31:28chastisement of our peace was upon him
- 31:31and with his stripes we are healed."
- 31:34His health came to you.
- 31:36Third pair. Your poverty went to him.
- 31:40Second Corinthians chapter 8 verse 9
- 31:42says, "For ye know the grace of our Lord
- 31:45Jesus Christ, that though he was rich,
- 31:48yet for your sakes he became poor that
- 31:50ye through his poverty might be rich."
- 31:53His sufficiency came to you.
- 31:56Fourth pair. Your weakness went to him.
- 32:00His strength came to you.
- 32:02Fifth pair. Your shame went to him. His
- 32:05glory came to you.
- 32:07Sixth pair. And this is the one nobody
- 32:10preaches. Your orphan status went to
- 32:13him.
- 32:14On that cross he cried, "My God, my God,
- 32:18why hast thou forsaken me?"
- 32:20And he was made an orphan in that moment
- 32:23so that you would never be one again.
- 32:26His sonship came to you.
- 32:29Seventh pair. Seven exchanges. Seven
- 32:32words. Greater is he that is in me.
- 32:36Now, here is what I need you to
- 32:38understand about the timing, because the
- 32:40timing is where most believers get
- 32:43robbed.
- 32:44Not one of those exchanges is scheduled
- 32:46for later.
- 32:48That is the great theft of religious
- 32:50tradition.
- 32:51Tradition takes everything that was
- 32:53legally deposited at the cross and
- 32:56postpones it to heaven.
- 32:58Tradition says, you will be righteous
- 33:00when you die. You will be whole when you
- 33:03die. You will be free from want when you
- 33:06die.
- 33:07And so, the believer spends his entire
- 33:09earthly life as a man with a full
- 33:11account who has been told the bank does
- 33:14not open until after his funeral.
- 33:17Read the tense in your Bible.
- 33:20That we might be made the righteousness
- 33:22of God in him. Made.
- 33:25With his stripes we are healed. Are.
- 33:29That ye through his poverty might be
- 33:31rich. Might be. Right now. Not might
- 33:35have been. Not [clears throat] will
- 33:37someday be. The New Testament is written
- 33:40in a tense that tradition cannot afford,
- 33:42which is why tradition preachers around
- 33:44it.
- 33:45So, let me tell you what legally changed
- 33:48in your identity the moment you
- 33:50believed.
- 33:51You did not become a better sinner.
- 33:54You became a new species.
- 33:57Second Corinthians chapter 5 verse 17
- 34:00says,
- 34:01Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he
- 34:04is a new creature. Old things are passed
- 34:07away. Behold, all things are become new.
- 34:11That word creature is the word for
- 34:13creation. A new creation. Something that
- 34:17did not exist before.
- 34:19God did not renovate you. He did not put
- 34:21a new roof on a condemned house. He
- 34:24recreated your human spirit from the
- 34:27inside out.
- 34:29You did not get put on probation. You
- 34:31got adopted with full legal standing.
- 34:35Romans chapter 8 verse 15 says, "For ye
- 34:38have not received the spirit of bondage
- 34:40again to fear, but ye have received the
- 34:43spirit of adoption, whereby we cry,
- 34:46'Abba, Father.'"
- 34:48Adoption in the Roman world was a court
- 34:50proceeding.
- 34:52It was witnessed. It transferred name,
- 34:54inheritance, and debt. An adopted Roman
- 34:57son could not be unadopted. That is the
- 35:01word the Holy Spirit chose.
- 35:03And you did not receive a visitor, you
- 35:05received a resident. That is the whole
- 35:08basis of the seven words, "Greater is he
- 35:11that is in you." Not near you, not
- 35:15watching over you from a comfortable
- 35:16distance, in you.
- 35:19The same one who spoke and the sea
- 35:21flattened out and the fever left the boy
- 35:23and the dead man came out walking, took
- 35:26up permanent residence in the hidden man
- 35:28of your heart. And he does not check out
- 35:31at night.
- 35:32Now, map the story onto this and watch
- 35:35it lock into place.
- 35:37The document by the fire is the new
- 35:39covenant. The red seal is the blood. The
- 35:42distant sovereign is the father, and he
- 35:45is not distant at all that the keeper
- 35:47thought he was, and that thinking is
- 35:49what cost the town.
- 35:51The siege is your circumstance. The 19
- 35:54nights are the years you have been going
- 35:56to bed defeated. The relief column
- 35:59already moving through the trees is the
- 36:01finished work, which was completed
- 36:03before your problem ever started. And
- 36:06the exhausted man asleep on the table is
- 36:08you. And you are 3 hours from the tree
- 36:12line and nobody has told you.
- 36:15Understand what this means. You are not
- 36:17fighting for a victory. You are
- 36:19enforcing one.
- 36:21There is an enormous difference, and the
- 36:23difference will show up on on face.
- 36:26A man fighting for a victory is
- 36:28desperate. His voice goes up. He
- 36:31negotiates. He tries harder every year
- 36:34and gets tired every year.
- 36:37A man enforcing a victory is calm. He
- 36:40has a document. He is not asking. He is
- 36:43informing.
- 36:44His voice comes down, not up, because
- 36:47volume is what men use when they do not
- 36:49have authority.
- 36:51Stop begging. Start [clears throat]
- 36:53enforcing.
- 36:54Stop pleading for what has already been
- 36:56signed over. Start announcing it. And do
- 37:00it at the 1 hour of the day when nothing
- 37:02else is competing for the microphone.
- 37:04So, why are you not doing it already?
- 37:07Because there is an enemy of this truth,
- 37:10and I want to name him precisely.
- 37:12Because a vague enemy cannot be
- 37:14resisted.
- 37:15The first enemy is religious tradition.
- 37:18Jesus said it himself in Mark chapter 7
- 37:21verse 13. He said, "Tradition makes the
- 37:24word of God of none effect through your
- 37:27tradition, which ye have delivered."
- 37:30Read that.
- 37:31Tradition does not attack the word. It
- 37:33does not have to.
- 37:35It simply renders it inoperative. The
- 37:37way a document is rendered inoperative
- 37:40when it is filed in the wrong drawer for
- 37:42100 years.
- 37:43The verse is still in your Bible. It
- 37:46just does not do anything in your life.
- 37:48That is tradition's entire job.
- 37:52And tradition's favorite tool against
- 37:54you is false humility.
- 37:56Let me be very direct here.
- 37:59There is a spirit in the modern church
- 38:01that has convinced sincere men that
- 38:03self-contempt is a virtue.
- 38:06That a man who calls himself worthless
- 38:08is being humble. And a man who calls
- 38:10himself righteous is being arrogant. And
- 38:13so believers compete quietly over who
- 38:16can think the least of himself.
- 38:18And they call that reverence.
- 38:21It is not reverence. It is unbelief with
- 38:24good manners.
- 38:26If God says you are righteous, it is not
- 38:28humility to call yourself a miserable
- 38:30sinner.
- 38:31It is rebellion.
- 38:33You are taking a document signed by the
- 38:35sovereign and writing across the front
- 38:37of it in your own handwriting, "I do not
- 38:40accept these terms."
- 38:42That is not lowliness. That is a refusal
- 38:45to sign.
- 38:47Real humility is agreement.
- 38:50Humility is a man saying, "I did not
- 38:52earn one inch of this, and I'm going to
- 38:55take every inch of it because the one
- 38:57who paid for it told me to."
- 39:00The second enemy is sense knowledge.
- 39:03This is Kenyon's phrase, and it is worth
- 39:0510,000 sermons.
- 39:08Sense knowledge is knowledge that comes
- 39:10to you through the five senses. What you
- 39:12can see, hear, taste, touch, and smell.
- 39:17It is not evil. You need it. You would
- 39:19walk into traffic without it.
- 39:21But sense knowledge has one fatal
- 39:24limitation.
- 39:25It can only report on the visible.
- 39:28And your covenant is not visible.
- 39:30So, when your eyes look at the campfires
- 39:32and count more of them than yesterday,
- 39:35sense knowledge files a report, and the
- 39:37report is accurate. And the report is
- 39:40irrelevant.
- 39:42The relief column is not in the report
- 39:44because the relief column is in the
- 39:46trees.
- 39:47Sense knowledge cannot see the trees.
- 39:50And here is the trap.
- 39:52When a man makes his decisions off sense
- 39:55knowledge alone, he will always, every
- 39:57single time, vote to open the gate.
- 40:01Revelation knowledge is different.
- 40:04Revelation knowledge is what your spirit
- 40:06knows because God said it, whether or
- 40:08not one single sense confirms it.
- 40:11And the reason night is so powerful is
- 40:14that at night, in the dark, with your
- 40:16eyes closed, sense knowledge is finally
- 40:19at its weakest position of the entire
- 40:21day.
- 40:23You cannot see the bills at 11:40. You
- 40:25cannot see your reflection.
- 40:27The senses are off duty. That is the
- 40:30hour when revelation knowledge can get a
- 40:33clean word in without being shouted
- 40:35down.
- 40:36The devil knows that, which is why he
- 40:38works the night shift.
- 40:40The third enemy is what I call the worm
- 40:43of the dust mentality.
- 40:45It is the man who has been taught to
- 40:47approach God the way a serf approaches a
- 40:49lord who might be in a bad mood.
- 40:52Hat in hand, backing out of the room,
- 40:54apologizing for existing.
- 40:57That man will never speak a bold word in
- 41:00the dark because he does not believe he
- 41:02has standing to speak at all.
- 41:04He believes prayer is a request
- 41:06submitted to a busy office, and he is
- 41:09grateful when it is acknowledged.
- 41:11Hebrews chapter 4 verse 16 says,
- 41:14"Let us therefore come boldly unto the
- 41:17throne of grace, that we may obtain
- 41:19mercy, and find grace to help in time of
- 41:22need."
- 41:23Boldly. That is a legal word about a
- 41:26right of access. You are not sneaking
- 41:29in. You are on the list.
- 41:32The fourth enemy is the beggar
- 41:34mentality, which is what the worm
- 41:36mentality produces in practice. A beggar
- 41:39asks. A son enforces.
- 41:42A beggar hopes he catches somebody in a
- 41:44generous mood. A son knows the terms.
- 41:48And there are believers who have been
- 41:50begging for 30 years for something that
- 41:52was deeded to them in year one. And they
- 41:54call that persistence, and heaven calls
- 41:57it a filing error.
- 41:59And underneath all four of them sits the
- 42:02root, sin consciousness.
- 42:05Sin consciousness is a permanent
- 42:07low-grade awareness of unworthiness that
- 42:09follows a man into every prayer he
- 42:11prays.
- 42:13It is the reason your confession felt
- 42:14like lying. It is the reason you cannot
- 42:17say, "I am healed." without a second
- 42:19voice starting up.
- 42:21You were not fighting doubt about God.
- 42:24You were fighting doubt about your
- 42:25standing.
- 42:26And a man who is unsure of his standing
- 42:29will never enforce a document because in
- 42:31the back of his mind, he is not certain
- 42:34the document is really his.
- 42:36Righteousness consciousness is the cure.
- 42:39And it is not arrogance. It is accuracy.
- 42:42Now, who benefits from your ignorance?
- 42:45Not God. Let us kill that idea
- 42:48immediately.
- 42:49God does not gain anything from you
- 42:52living beneath your covenant. There is
- 42:54nothing in it for him. He gets no glory
- 42:57from a son in rags.
- 42:59The one who benefits is the one who is
- 43:01currently occupying territory that does
- 43:03not belong to him.
- 43:05He benefits every single night that you
- 43:07go to sleep agreeing with the siege.
- 43:10He does not need to break your wall. He
- 43:13needs your last sentence.
- 43:15And the tragedy is that he cannot make
- 43:18you say it.
- 43:19He can only suggest it.
- 43:21He can put the thought in the room.
- 43:23You are the one who has to put it in
- 43:25your mouth.
- 43:27Now, let me answer the three objections
- 43:29that are already forming in you because
- 43:31I know exactly what they are.
- 43:33The first one is this. You are thinking,
- 43:36"But I do not feel it."
- 43:38You are lying there and you say,
- 43:40"Greater is he that is in me." And you
- 43:43feel absolutely nothing. No warmth, no
- 43:46electricity, no sense of presence.
- 43:49Just a tired man in a dark room saying
- 43:52words to a ceiling.
- 43:54Good. That is exactly right. Here is
- 43:57why.
- 43:58Feeling is a sense knowledge product.
- 44:01Feeling reports on the visible and the
- 44:03physical. You are making a statement
- 44:05about the invisible and the legal.
- 44:08Asking your feelings to confirm your
- 44:10covenant is like asking a thermometer to
- 44:12tell you whether you own your house. It
- 44:15is a fine instrument. It is measuring
- 44:17the wrong thing.
- 44:19The Bible says in 2 Corinthians chapter
- 44:215 verse 7, "For we walk by faith, not by
- 44:25sight."
- 44:26Walk means normal daily operation. Your
- 44:29normal daily operation is not supposed
- 44:32to be governed by what registers on your
- 44:33senses.
- 44:35And notice that faith comes first in the
- 44:37sentence and sight comes second, which
- 44:39is the order God intends and the exact
- 44:42reverse of how you have been living.
- 44:45Feeling is not the entrance to this.
- 44:47Feeling is the caboose.
- 44:50It shows up eventually and it shows up
- 44:52last and it shows up only for people who
- 44:55kept speaking when it was not there.
- 44:58The second objection.
- 44:59>> [clears throat]
- 44:59>> You are thinking, "But I tried this and
- 45:02it did not work."
- 45:04Let me tell you what you actually tried.
- 45:06You tried it for 9 days in a bathroom
- 45:08mirror in a state of emotional crisis
- 45:11while simultaneously rehearsing the
- 45:13opposite for the other 15 waking hours.
- 45:16That is not a failed experiment. That is
- 45:19an experiment that was never run.
- 45:22Here is the honest question.
- 45:24When you tried it, were you saying the
- 45:26words to change your circumstances or
- 45:29were you saying them because they were
- 45:31already true?
- 45:33Because those are two entirely different
- 45:35acts.
- 45:36The first one is a man using a Bible
- 45:38verse as a lever to move a boulder.
- 45:41When the boulder does not move, he
- 45:43concludes the verse is weak.
- 45:45The second one is a man stating a fact
- 45:48about his position.
- 45:50He is not moving anything.
- 45:52He is standing on something.
- 45:55And there is a third possibility, which
- 45:57is harder to hear.
- 45:59It may have started working and you quit
- 46:01before you could see it because you were
- 46:03watching your circumstances for
- 46:05confirmation instead of watching your
- 46:07own inner man for confirmation.
- 46:10The first thing that changes is never
- 46:12the mountain.
- 46:13The first thing that changes is the man.
- 46:17And if you are not watching the man, you
- 46:19will miss the only evidence that was
- 46:20available in week one.
- 46:23The third objection.
- 46:25You were thinking,
- 46:26"Is this not arrogant?" Ask it plainly.
- 46:29Is it not arrogant for a man to walk
- 46:31around saying, "Greater is he that is in
- 46:34me?"
- 46:35Read the sentence again, slowly.
- 46:37Greater is he, not greater am I.
- 46:42He, the entire statement is a confession
- 46:45about somebody else who happens to be
- 46:47living in you.
- 46:48There is not one syllable of
- 46:50self-promotion in it.
- 46:52You are not claiming to be greater than
- 46:53your problem. You are announcing your
- 46:56tenant. Arrogance would be saying, "I am
- 46:59strong enough for this."
- 47:01Humility says,
- 47:03"He is, and he is in me, and I did not
- 47:07put him there."
- 47:08And I will go further.
- 47:10It is not arrogance that offends heaven.
- 47:13It is the false modesty of a son who was
- 47:15handed an estate and insists on
- 47:17describing himself as homeless.
- 47:20That does not honor the one who bought
- 47:22it. It insults him.
- 47:24Every time you say, "I am nothing," you
- 47:27are telling the world that what he paid
- 47:29produced nothing.
- 47:31So, drop the objections. All three of
- 47:34them are just sense knowledge wearing a
- 47:36theological coat.
- 47:38Now, let me give you the practical work.
- 47:41There are three exercises, three, not
- 47:4330. And every one of them can be done
- 47:46tonight in the bed you already own with
- 47:49nothing added.
- 47:50The first exercise is this. I call it
- 47:54the last word.
- 47:55Here is the definition.
- 47:57The last word is the discipline of
- 47:59making the final complete sentence you
- 48:01speak in a day a covenant statement
- 48:04rather than a status report.
- 48:06Not the final thought.
- 48:08You cannot control your final thought.
- 48:11Your mind will do what it does as it
- 48:13drifts.
- 48:14But you can absolutely control your
- 48:17final spoken sentence
- 48:19because speech is voluntary and your
- 48:21tongue answers to your will.
- 48:24The scripture is Proverbs chapter 18
- 48:26verse 21.
- 48:28Death and life are in the power of the
- 48:30tongue
- 48:31and they that love it shall eat the
- 48:33fruit thereof.
- 48:35Notice the word fruit.
- 48:37Fruit is not immediate. Fruit is
- 48:40agricultural.
- 48:41There is a delay built into the verse
- 48:44and that delay is precisely where most
- 48:46believers quit.
- 48:48Why does it work?
- 48:50Because the last spoken sentence is the
- 48:52one your inward man is still holding
- 48:54when your reasoning mind releases
- 48:56control.
- 48:57All day long your intellect stands
- 49:00between your spirit and your words like
- 49:02a lawyer objecting to everything.
- 49:04At the edge of sleep that lawyer sits
- 49:07down. The sentence goes straight
- 49:09through.
- 49:10That is why one sentence at 11:40 at
- 49:13night does more work than 40 minutes of
- 49:16anxious prayer at 2:00 in the afternoon.
- 49:19Here is the common mistake and almost
- 49:21everyone makes it.
- 49:23Men treat the last word as a summary of
- 49:26the day.
- 49:27They lie down and they narrate.
- 49:29Well Lord, it was a hard one. The truck
- 49:32is making that noise again.
- 49:34I do not know how we are going to do
- 49:35this.
- 49:37And they call that honesty and they call
- 49:39it prayer and it is neither.
- 49:42It is a status report filed with the
- 49:44wrong department.
- 49:46God already has the report. He does not
- 49:48need your intelligence briefing. He
- 49:51needs your agreement.
- 49:53Your last word is not a description of
- 49:55where you are. It is a declaration of
- 49:57what you are.
- 49:59And there is a second mistake, quieter
- 50:02than the first.
- 50:03Men wait for a good night to start.
- 50:06They think,
- 50:07"I will begin this on a night when I'm
- 50:09not so upset, when the day has gone
- 50:11reasonably well, when I'm in a better
- 50:13frame of mind."
- 50:15That is exactly backwards.
- 50:18The nights you least want to say it are
- 50:20the nights it does the most work.
- 50:22Because those are the nights your spirit
- 50:24is being handed the worst material.
- 50:27A man who only confesses the covenant on
- 50:29easy nights has built nothing.
- 50:32He has a hobby.
- 50:33The man who says it through his teeth on
- 50:35the worst night of his year is the man
- 50:38who wakes up different in March.
- 50:41There is a third mistake as well, and it
- 50:43is the mistake of volume.
- 50:46Men think intensity is faith, so they
- 50:49get loud, and they strain, and they try
- 50:51to force the words to feel powerful.
- 50:54Stop.
- 50:55You are not persuading God, and you are
- 50:58not persuading the devil.
- 51:00You are stating a fact in your own
- 51:02house.
- 51:03A judge does not shout the verdict. He
- 51:06reads it.
- 51:07Calm is the sound of authority.
- 51:10And your spirit can tell the difference
- 51:12between a man who is declaring and a man
- 51:14who is pleading with extra effort.
- 51:17So, here is your concrete instruction,
- 51:20and you can obey it in the next 12
- 51:21hours.
- 51:23Tonight, when you are already lying
- 51:25down, already in the dark, already done
- 51:28with everything else,
- 51:30say these seven words out loud.
- 51:33Greater is he that is in me.
- 51:36Say them once, clearly, at
- 51:38conversational volume.
- 51:40Not a whisper, not a shout.
- 51:42The volume you would use to tell
- 51:44somebody in the room that the door is
- 51:45locked.
- 51:47Then, say nothing else.
- 51:49Do not add a prayer to it. Do not
- 51:51qualify it. Do not say, "And Lord,
- 51:54please help me with."
- 51:56The moment you add a request, you have
- 51:58converted a declaration into a petition,
- 52:01and you have moved yourself from the
- 52:03position of a son to the position of a
- 52:05beggar.
- 52:06Say the seven words, close your mouth,
- 52:09and go to sleep.
- 52:11If your spouse is asleep beside you, say
- 52:14it under your breath, with your lips
- 52:15moving. Lip movement is enough.
- 52:18The requirement is that your own ear
- 52:21hears your own voice.
- 52:23Because Romans chapter 10 verse 17 says,
- 52:26"So then faith cometh by hearing, and
- 52:29hearing by the word of God."
- 52:31Your ear was designed to feed your
- 52:33spirit, and your own voice is the most
- 52:36trusted voice your spirit will ever
- 52:38hear.
- 52:39That is the first exercise.
- 52:42Do it tonight, and do it for 30 nights.
- 52:45The second exercise is this.
- 52:47I call it the midnight watch.
- 52:50Here is the definition.
- 52:52The midnight watch is a pre-decided
- 52:54response to the moment you wake in the
- 52:56night, so that the decision is made
- 52:59before the moment arrives.
- 53:01Because you will wake up, not every
- 53:03night, but often.
- 53:05And the pattern is always the same.
- 53:07Your eyes open at 2:00 or 3:00.
- 53:10Within 4 seconds, your mind locates the
- 53:12worst thing in your life and puts a
- 53:14spotlight on it.
- 53:16And then, you lie there for 40 minutes,
- 53:19losing an argument with a person who is
- 53:21not in the room.
- 53:22The scripture is Psalm chapter 63 verse
- 53:256.
- 53:26David says,
- 53:28"When I remember thee upon my bed, and
- 53:30meditate on thee in the night watches."
- 53:33He named it night watches.
- 53:36He had a plan for that hour.
- 53:38So did the keeper of the north gate, and
- 53:40his plan was to go back to sleep,
- 53:42saying, "It is over."
- 53:44And it cost him the town.
- 53:47Why does it work?
- 53:48Because the mind cannot hold two
- 53:50meditations at once. It is not built for
- 53:53it.
- 53:54The reason you lose the 3:00 in the
- 53:56morning argument is not that the
- 53:57argument is strong. It is that it is
- 54:00unopposed. You are not fighting it. You
- 54:03are hosting it.
- 54:05The moment you introduce a competing
- 54:06sentence and repeat it, the fear loop
- 54:09breaks. Not because you argued it down,
- 54:12but because you starved it.
- 54:14Fear runs on rehearsal.
- 54:17Cut the rehearsal, and it has no fuel.
- 54:20The common mistake here is trying to
- 54:22solve the problem at 3:00 in the
- 54:23morning.
- 54:24You wake up and you think, "Well, since
- 54:27I am awake, let me figure out the
- 54:28mortgage."
- 54:30Do not ever make a decision, run a
- 54:32number, or draft a conversation between
- 54:35the hours of 1:00 and 5:00 in the
- 54:36morning.
- 54:38Your reasoning is running at partial
- 54:40power, and your senses are reporting in
- 54:42the dark,
- 54:43which means every conclusion you reach
- 54:45will be catastrophic.
- 54:47Men have quit marriages at 3:00 in the
- 54:49morning that they would have fought for
- 54:51at 9:00.
- 54:52Men have accepted a diagnosis as a life
- 54:55sentence at 3:00 in the morning that
- 54:57they would have challenged at 9:00.
- 54:59Your assignment at 3:00 in the morning
- 55:01is not to solve. It is to occupy.
- 55:05So, here is your concrete instruction.
- 55:08Decide right now, while you are calm,
- 55:11what you will do the next time you wake
- 55:13in the dark.
- 55:15And here is the decision.
- 55:17The instant your eyes open, before you
- 55:20check the time, before you look at your
- 55:21phone, you say the seven words, "Greater
- 55:25is he that is in me."
- 55:28And then, you say them again and again,
- 55:30slowly, in rhythm with your breathing,
- 55:33until you either fall asleep, or you
- 55:35notice that the spotlight has moved off
- 55:38the problem.
- 55:39Do not check the clock.
- 55:41Checking the clock is how the enemy
- 55:43starts the math.
- 55:45It is 3:11. I have to be up at 6:00.
- 55:48That is 2 hours and 49 minutes. I am
- 55:51going to be wrecked tomorrow.
- 55:54Now, you are not fighting one problem.
- 55:56You are fighting two, and one of them
- 55:58you invented.
- 56:00Seven words. Repeat. That is the whole
- 56:04watch.
- 56:05And let me answer the question you are
- 56:07already asking, which is What if I fall
- 56:09asleep in the middle of saying it?
- 56:12Then, you have done it perfectly. That
- 56:14is the ideal outcome.
- 56:16A man who falls asleep with a covenant
- 56:18sentence half finished in his mouth has
- 56:21handed his spirit exactly the right
- 56:23assignment. You are not being graded on
- 56:25completion.
- 56:27There is one more mistake here, and it
- 56:29is the mistake of self-condemnation.
- 56:32>> [clears throat]
- 56:32>> You will wake up some night, and you
- 56:34will lie there for 25 minutes in the old
- 56:36loop before you even remember there was
- 56:38a plan.
- 56:40And then, you will remember, and the
- 56:42first thing that will rise up is disgust
- 56:44with yourself.
- 56:45I cannot even do this right. Cut that
- 56:48off immediately. That is sin
- 56:50consciousness trying to get back in
- 56:52through the side door.
- 56:54The correct response is not repentance.
- 56:56It is repetition.
- 56:58You simply start the seven words from
- 57:00wherever you are, 25 minutes late, and
- 57:03it works exactly as well as if you had
- 57:04started on time.
- 57:06The covenant does not have a punctuality
- 57:08clause.
- 57:09And here is why that matters more than
- 57:11it sounds.
- 57:13The men who fail at this do not fail
- 57:15because they missed nights. Every man
- 57:17misses nights.
- 57:19They fail because they use the missed
- 57:21nights as evidence that they are not the
- 57:23kind of person who can do this.
- 57:25Miss a night. Miss four. Start again on
- 57:28the fifth without a speech about it.
- 57:30Consistency over 90 days is built out of
- 57:33restarts, not out of a perfect record.
- 57:37The third exercise is this. I call it
- 57:40the morning seal.
- 57:42Here is the definition.
- 57:44The morning seal is the deliberate act
- 57:46of speaking before you are spoken to.
- 57:49Because there is a window in the
- 57:50morning, roughly the first 90 seconds
- 57:53after you wake, where you are unusually
- 57:56open.
- 57:57Every advertiser on earth knows this.
- 58:00Which is why the first thing your phone
- 58:01does is show you something designed to
- 58:03produce a feeling.
- 58:05And most believers surrender that window
- 58:07before both feet are on the floor.
- 58:10The scripture is the one we read
- 58:12earlier, Proverbs chapter 6, verse 22.
- 58:15And when thou awakest, it shall talk
- 58:18with thee.
- 58:19Something is going to talk to you when
- 58:21you wake. That is not optional. The only
- 58:24variable is who gets to go first.
- 58:28Why does it work?
- 58:30Because whatever is confessed in the
- 58:31first 90 seconds sets the interpretive
- 58:34frame for the entire day.
- 58:36Not your mood, your frame. The lens
- 58:39through which every event of that day is
- 58:41read.
- 58:42The same email lands entirely
- 58:44differently on a man who woke up saying,
- 58:47"Greater is he that is in me." than on a
- 58:49man who woke up scrolling.
- 58:52Same email, two different men receiving
- 58:54it.
- 58:55The common mistake is reaching for the
- 58:57phone.
- 58:58I'm going to be blunt with you. If the
- 59:00first voice you hear in the morning is
- 59:02an algorithm, you have subcontracted
- 59:05your frame to a machine that does not
- 59:07know your name and does not have your
- 59:09interests in view.
- 59:11That is not a moral failure. It is a
- 59:13tactical one. But you will pay for it by
- 59:1510:00 in the morning.
- 59:17The second common mistake is waiting
- 59:19until you feel spiritual enough to
- 59:21speak. You will never feel spiritual at
- 59:246:00 in the morning. Nobody does. Your
- 59:27feelings are not invited to this. Speak
- 59:30first and let them catch up whenever
- 59:32they get around to it. So, here is your
- 59:34concrete instruction, and you can obey
- 59:36it tomorrow. Before your feet touch the
- 59:39floor, while you are still horizontal,
- 59:42put your hand flat on your chest and say
- 59:44the seven words out loud. Greater is he
- 59:48that is in me.
- 59:49The hand matters, and I will tell you
- 59:51why. It is not superstition, it is
- 59:54location.
- 59:56It teaches your mind to stop pointing
- 59:58outward at the sky and start pointing
- 1:00:00inward at the residence.
- 1:00:03You are not addressing a distant
- 1:00:04sovereign 100 miles away.
- 1:00:06You are acknowledging a tenant who was
- 1:00:08in the house all night.
- 1:00:10Then, and only then, put your feet on
- 1:00:13the floor.
- 1:00:14Then, get your phone.
- 1:00:17And there is one more mistake worth
- 1:00:18naming because it will cost you weeks.
- 1:00:21Men try to make the morning seal into a
- 1:00:24devotional.
- 1:00:25They think, "Well, if I am going to
- 1:00:27speak in the morning, I should really do
- 1:00:29this properly. I should get up 20
- 1:00:31minutes earlier. I should get coffee
- 1:00:33first and sit in a chair with a
- 1:00:35notebook."
- 1:00:36And within 9 days, the 20 minutes have
- 1:00:39collapsed, and the whole thing is
- 1:00:40abandoned.
- 1:00:42And the man concludes he lacks
- 1:00:44discipline.
- 1:00:45He does not lack discipline. He built
- 1:00:47something too heavy to carry.
- 1:00:50The morning seal is 4 seconds long.
- 1:00:53Hand on chest, seven words, feet on
- 1:00:56floor.
- 1:00:57That is it. It is designed to be so
- 1:01:00small that it survives a head cold, a
- 1:01:02bad night, a hotel room, a hospital
- 1:01:05waiting chair, and a week where
- 1:01:07everything is on fire.
- 1:01:09Small things that survive beat large
- 1:01:12things that collapse every single time.
- 1:01:16And notice the architecture of the three
- 1:01:17together.
- 1:01:19The last word closes the day.
- 1:01:21The midnight watch holds the line in the
- 1:01:23dark.
- 1:01:25The morning seal opens the day.
- 1:01:27You have now put a guard at all three
- 1:01:29doors, and the same seven words stand at
- 1:01:33each one.
- 1:01:34That is not repetition for its own sake.
- 1:01:37That is a man building a perimeter.
- 1:01:40Three exercises.
- 1:01:42The last word before sleep, the midnight
- 1:01:44watch when you wake in the dark, the
- 1:01:47morning seal before your feet hit the
- 1:01:49floor.
- 1:01:50Notice something about all three.
- 1:01:53Not one of them requires an hour.
- 1:01:56Not one of them requires privacy, a
- 1:01:58quiet house, a study, a journal, or a
- 1:02:01good mood.
- 1:02:02They fit inside a life that is already
- 1:02:05too full. That is deliberate because the
- 1:02:08reason your last five spiritual
- 1:02:10disciplines died is that they required
- 1:02:12conditions you do not have.
- 1:02:15These require nothing but a mouth and a
- 1:02:18decision.
- 1:02:19And 30 days of this will do more in you
- 1:02:21than 3 years of the way you have been
- 1:02:24going about it.
- 1:02:25So, let me show you what your life looks
- 1:02:27like 6 months from now because I want
- 1:02:30you to see it before you live it.
- 1:02:33It is a Tuesday.
- 1:02:35The phone rings at 4:00 in the
- 1:02:36afternoon, and it is [clears throat] the
- 1:02:38number you have been dreading.
- 1:02:40The one from the office that called last
- 1:02:41time with bad news.
- 1:02:44Now, the old you had a physical response
- 1:02:46to that ring.
- 1:02:47Your stomach dropped. Your hands went
- 1:02:50cold. You let it go to voicemail, and
- 1:02:53then you paced the kitchen for 20
- 1:02:54minutes before you could listen to it.
- 1:02:57Watch the new man.
- 1:02:59The phone rings. You look at the number,
- 1:03:02and something happens that you did not
- 1:03:03manufacture and could not have faked.
- 1:03:06Nothing drops.
- 1:03:08There is a settledness underneath your
- 1:03:10ribs that was not there in January.
- 1:03:13And it did not come from a technique.
- 1:03:15It came from 180 consecutive nights of
- 1:03:19your spirit being fed the same sentence.
- 1:03:22You answer it on the second ring.
- 1:03:25You listen.
- 1:03:26>> [clears throat]
- 1:03:26>> The news is not good news.
- 1:03:29And while the person on the other end is
- 1:03:31still talking, there is a voice
- 1:03:33underneath the conversation.
- 1:03:35And it is your own voice, and it is
- 1:03:37saying, "Greater is he that is in me."
- 1:03:41You hang up.
- 1:03:43You do not pace.
- 1:03:44You stand at the counter for about 11
- 1:03:46seconds, and then you say it out loud in
- 1:03:49your empty kitchen.
- 1:03:51>> [clears throat]
- 1:03:51>> "Greater is he that is in me."
- 1:03:54And you go make dinner.
- 1:03:56That is not denial. Do not confuse this
- 1:03:59with denial.
- 1:04:00You heard every word. You will make the
- 1:04:03appointment. You will do what a wise man
- 1:04:06does.
- 1:04:07You will take the counsel of the people
- 1:04:09who are qualified to give it.
- 1:04:11Denial pretends the siege is not there.
- 1:04:14Faith looks straight at the campfires
- 1:04:16and says, "And yet, the relief is
- 1:04:19dispatched." Here is another one.
- 1:04:22It [clears throat] is the end of the
- 1:04:23month. You are looking at the account,
- 1:04:25and the number is not enough.
- 1:04:27It is short by an amount that a year ago
- 1:04:30would have kept you up until 3:00.
- 1:04:32You have run the math four times, and
- 1:04:34the math does not care how you feel
- 1:04:36about it.
- 1:04:38Old you sat in that chair and did the
- 1:04:40thing men do.
- 1:04:42You built a disaster in your
- 1:04:43imagination.
- 1:04:45You saw the car going back. You saw the
- 1:04:47conversation with your wife. You saw
- 1:04:50yourself at 50-something explaining to
- 1:04:52somebody that you had failed.
- 1:04:54You did that for 2 hours, and it cost
- 1:04:57you a night of sleep, and it produced
- 1:04:59nothing.
- 1:05:00Watch the new man.
- 1:05:02You look at the number, and you notice
- 1:05:04something.
- 1:05:05You are annoyed, but you are not afraid.
- 1:05:08Those are two entirely different states,
- 1:05:11and the difference between them is a
- 1:05:12legal document.
- 1:05:14You close the laptop, you put your hand
- 1:05:16on your chest, you say seven words, and
- 1:05:19you sleep. Actually sleep on a night
- 1:05:22that would have destroyed you last year.
- 1:05:25And then, in the morning, somewhere
- 1:05:27between the shower and the truck, an
- 1:05:29idea shows up.
- 1:05:31Not a lightning bolt, just a clear,
- 1:05:34quiet thought about somebody you should
- 1:05:36call, or something you already own that
- 1:05:38you had forgotten about.
- 1:05:40That is the inward monitor.
- 1:05:43That is the reins instructing you in the
- 1:05:45night seasons and reporting in the
- 1:05:47morning.
- 1:05:48And you would never have heard it over
- 1:05:50the noise of the disaster you used to
- 1:05:52build.
- 1:05:53Here is another one.
- 1:05:55You are in a room with somebody you
- 1:05:56love, and there is something wrong
- 1:05:58between you.
- 1:06:00Words were said last week that neither
- 1:06:02of you has taken back.
- 1:06:04And in the old pattern, you would have
- 1:06:05gone to bed with your back turned,
- 1:06:07running the argument, sharpening the
- 1:06:09thing you were going to say tomorrow.
- 1:06:12Feeding your spirit 8 hours of a
- 1:06:14grievance, and then wondering why you
- 1:06:16woke up harder than you went to sleep.
- 1:06:19Watch the new man.
- 1:06:21You lie down with the thing unresolved,
- 1:06:24because sometimes it stays unresolved
- 1:06:26overnight. And that is life.
- 1:06:30And you feel the pull to rehearse it.
- 1:06:32You feel your mind reaching for the
- 1:06:34transcript, and you catch it. You
- 1:06:37actually catch it, which you could not
- 1:06:39do a year ago, because 30 nights of
- 1:06:41practice taught your inward man to
- 1:06:43notice.
- 1:06:45And you do not argue with the grievance.
- 1:06:47You do not fight it.
- 1:06:49You simply refuse to hand it to your
- 1:06:51spirit as the last assignment of the
- 1:06:53day.
- 1:06:54You say seven words instead.
- 1:06:56Greater is he that is in me.
- 1:07:00And in the morning, the thing that was
- 1:07:01going to come out of your mouth at
- 1:07:03breakfast does not come out.
- 1:07:05Something better does.
- 1:07:07Not because you rehearsed a better
- 1:07:08speech, but because you did not spend
- 1:07:11the night rehearsing a worse one.
- 1:07:14Here is one more, and this is the one I
- 1:07:16most want for you.
- 1:07:18It is 11:40 at night. The house is dark.
- 1:07:22Your day was long and ordinary and
- 1:07:25mostly disappointing.
- 1:07:27And you are lying there, and you notice
- 1:07:29something so quiet you almost miss it.
- 1:07:32You are not dreading tomorrow.
- 1:07:35That is it. That is the whole miracle.
- 1:07:38There is no dread in the room.
- 1:07:41There used to be dread in that room
- 1:07:42every night, and you had come to think
- 1:07:44of it as furniture.
- 1:07:46And now it is gone, and you cannot point
- 1:07:49to the day it left.
- 1:07:51You say the seven words, "Greater is he
- 1:07:54that is in me."
- 1:07:55And you go to sleep like a man who has
- 1:07:57read his relief order.
- 1:07:59Now, let me tell you what happens if you
- 1:08:01do not do this, because I would be
- 1:08:03dishonest with you if I only showed you
- 1:08:05the upside.
- 1:08:06If you close this teaching, and you
- 1:08:08agree with everything I said, and you
- 1:08:10change nothing tonight,
- 1:08:12here is what happens.
- 1:08:14Nothing dramatic.
- 1:08:16That is the danger.
- 1:08:17There will be no crash. There will be no
- 1:08:20moment where the lights go out, and you
- 1:08:21realize you have made a terrible
- 1:08:23mistake.
- 1:08:24There will just be a dimming.
- 1:08:27The inward monitor gets quieter.
- 1:08:30Not because God withdraws,
- 1:08:32but because a voice you consistently
- 1:08:33ignore becomes a voice you stop hearing.
- 1:08:37Paul warned about a conscience seared
- 1:08:39with a hot iron in 1 Timothy chapter 4
- 1:08:42verse 2.
- 1:08:44Seared tissue is not dead tissue. It is
- 1:08:47tissue that has lost sensation.
- 1:08:49You can still see the scar. You just
- 1:08:52cannot feel anything through it.
- 1:08:54That is what happens to a man who hears
- 1:08:56the truth about his covenant and does
- 1:08:58not act on it.
- 1:09:00He does not lose his salvation. He loses
- 1:09:03his sensitivity.
- 1:09:05And a year from now, he will hear a
- 1:09:06teaching like this one, and it will not
- 1:09:08move him at all.
- 1:09:10And he will think it is because the
- 1:09:11teaching was weak.
- 1:09:13And the years go.
- 1:09:15That is the part nobody prepares you
- 1:09:17for.
- 1:09:18Not the drama, the arithmetic.
- 1:09:2119 nights becomes 19 months, becomes 19
- 1:09:25years.
- 1:09:27And every one of them looks survivable
- 1:09:29on its own.
- 1:09:30I keep thinking about the keeper of the
- 1:09:32north gate.
- 1:09:33He lived another 25 years.
- 1:09:36He was well thought of, and every night
- 1:09:39for 25 years, he lay down in a bed in an
- 1:09:42occupied town, holding nothing, having
- 1:09:45never read the document that was sitting
- 1:09:4720 inches from his hand on the one night
- 1:09:50it mattered.
- 1:09:52That is the picture.
- 1:09:54Not a man who lost a battle, a man who
- 1:09:57slept through his own deliverance,
- 1:09:59holding the spear and never once turning
- 1:10:02it around.
- 1:10:04Do not be him.
- 1:10:06You have heard it now. You cannot unhear
- 1:10:08it.
- 1:10:09From tonight forward, every time your
- 1:10:11head hits that pillow, you will know
- 1:10:14there is a sentence available to you,
- 1:10:16and you will know exactly what it is.
- 1:10:19And the only question will be whether
- 1:10:21you say it.
- 1:10:22So, do not wait until tonight to start.
- 1:10:25Start now. Put your hand on your chest,
- 1:10:28right where you can feel it. Flat, not a
- 1:10:30fist.
- 1:10:31That hand is not religious. It is a
- 1:10:34marker. It is you telling your own mind
- 1:10:37where the greater one actually lives.
- 1:10:40Now, say this after me, out loud, and do
- 1:10:43not mumble it. If you are somewhere you
- 1:10:45cannot speak, move your lips and let
- 1:10:48your own ear catch it.
- 1:10:51I am a new creation. I am not what I
- 1:10:54was. I am the righteousness of God in
- 1:10:57Christ Jesus.
- 1:10:59I have a covenant and it is signed in
- 1:11:01blood.
- 1:11:02I have a resident and he never sleeps.
- 1:11:06I have legal right to peace in this
- 1:11:08house. I have legal right to health in
- 1:11:11this body.
- 1:11:12I have legal right to provision for this
- 1:11:14life.
- 1:11:15I refuse fear as my last word. I refuse
- 1:11:19the report of my senses as my final
- 1:11:21authority. I refuse to lie down in
- 1:11:24agreement with the siege. I will speak
- 1:11:27before I sleep. I will speak when I wake
- 1:11:30in the dark. I will speak before my feet
- 1:11:33touch the floor.
- 1:11:34The relief is dispatched. The document
- 1:11:37is sealed. The one in me is greater than
- 1:11:40the one against me.
- 1:11:42Greater is he that is in me. Greater is
- 1:11:46he that is in me. Greater is he that is
- 1:11:49in me.
- 1:11:50Say it one more time and mean it in your
- 1:11:53chest and not in your throat.
- 1:11:55Greater is he that is in me. Now, do two
- 1:11:59things for me before you go.
- 1:12:01Type these words in the comments below
- 1:12:03exactly as I say them in the first
- 1:12:06person. Type, I am not sleeping like an
- 1:12:09orphan anymore.
- 1:12:11And on the next line, type, greater is
- 1:12:13he that is in me.
- 1:12:15I want to see that comment section fill
- 1:12:17up with men and women who took their
- 1:12:19night back. And if this teaching put
- 1:12:22something in your hands that nobody ever
- 1:12:24gave you before, subscribe to this
- 1:12:26channel and turn the notifications on.
- 1:12:28Not because a number matters to me, but
- 1:12:30because I release these teachings on a
- 1:12:32schedule and the ones coming are going
- 1:12:34to build directly on this one and I do
- 1:12:36not want you to miss the next piece of
- 1:12:38your own inheritance because a machine
- 1:12:41decided not to show it to you.
- 1:12:43Every scripture I quoted tonight is
- 1:12:45listed in the description below in
- 1:12:47order. Open your own Bible and read them
- 1:12:49for yourself. Do not take my word for
- 1:12:52it. Take the book's word for it. That is
- 1:12:55how this becomes yours instead of mine.
- 1:12:58Now, hear this as you go.
- 1:13:00The Lord bless you and keep you.
- 1:13:03The Lord make his face shine upon you
- 1:13:05and be gracious unto you.
- 1:13:07And may the greater one in you rise up
- 1:13:09in the night seasons and instruct you
- 1:13:12until fear has no last word in your
- 1:13:15house ever again.
- 1:13:17You are holding the document. The seal
- 1:13:19is red.
- 1:13:21Break it tonight.
