  10. 0:39my name's tony jeffries olympic medalist boxer former undefeated professional
  11. 0:43seven times national champion european champion welcome to my youtube channel
  12. 0:48tip number one is move your head slightly
  13. 0:52i see it often where people will be slipping out the way of punches and
  14. 0:55they'll slip and they'll come this far down
  15. 0:57if i'm in this position right here i'm off balance
  16. 1:01i can't throw any counter punches and if someone pushed me
  17. 1:04i'd fall over so when i say slightly i mean
  18. 1:08just enough to get at the way of a glove or a fist if you think a glove
  19. 1:11is about six inches a fist maybe four inches wide
  20. 1:15that's all you've got to slip you've got to slip just that much
  21. 1:19and if you've got a line in between your feet or visualize a line in between your
  22. 1:22feet that line is where the punch is going to
  23. 1:25come right down you've got one foot either side
  24. 1:28thinking the punch is coming right down the line take your head
  25. 1:31off that line your head's off that line and the punch will go straight past you
  26. 1:34so you're here small movements and as well if i slip
  27. 1:39here i've slipped that jab i'm putting the weight on the back foot
  28. 1:42and i'm loading up this next punch which is a big cross slip here load up
  29. 1:46the next punch which is a hook so them small slips is not only going to
  30. 1:51get you out the way faster but also put you in a great position
  31. 1:54to throw a counter i've got lots of videos on this channel about counter
  32. 1:58punching check them out as well they will really
  33. 2:00help you tip number two is use a slip rope
  34. 2:03all i've done here i've tied a hand wrap around a heavy bag
  35. 2:07to the wall and i've got this my head height because that's where the punch is
  36. 2:11going to be coming straight your head so you want to get in
  37. 2:14your boxing stance here and we're going to do a little slight
  38. 2:17step and a dip fast and if you think the
  39. 2:22points come right here you've just got straight out of the way
  40. 2:25that one thing to think about when you're
  41. 2:28doing this you want to keep your hands up i'll see it often where people
  42. 2:31have their hands down and they'll be here that is no use because if you're
  43. 2:35down here boom and you get clipped you're not
  44. 2:38protecting yourself so hands up high you always want to have
  45. 2:42them hands up on the slip rope and a drill with this
  46. 2:45you can use moving forwards and back forwards and back keeping your head off
  47. 2:50there you don't want to be you don't want to be coming under again
  48. 2:54in this position you want to use them legs slide slide
  49. 2:58slide and you want to the faster you get like
  50. 3:00this the better you're going to get at slipping out away of punches
  51. 3:05yeah that's tip number two and tip number three is the most important of
  52. 3:08them all and that is your reactions seeing the punch
