- 0:00streetwear question.
- 0:00>> You like streetwear? All right.
- 0:02GeoArts,
- 0:05I don't know.
- 0:06How would you sell a streetwear brand in
- 0:08a developing country where most people
- 0:10prioritize necessities like food?
- 0:13How do you create enough value and
- 0:14desire for them to spend on
- 0:15non-essential apparel? Really good
- 0:17question, man.
- 0:19I think the question you ask is how do
- 0:20you sell umbrellas in the desert?
- 0:23So, you don't want to like the number
- 0:26one requirement for demand is a starving
- 0:29crowd. You have to have people who want
- 0:30it. You don't want to create demand, you
- 0:31want to channel demand. Now,
- 0:33there's two scenarios that I could see
- 0:34this this model working.
- 0:36Model number one is that you sell to the
- 0:37rich. And so, what I mean there is that
- 0:38you might have a, you know, developing
- 0:40country that has many poor people, but
- 0:41there are wealthy people. And the
- 0:42wealthy people want everyone to know
- 0:44that they're wealthy.
- 0:45And so, you want to Those are the
- 0:47audience. It's a much smaller slice, but
- 0:49there's the people willing to pay a
- 0:50premium to demonstrate that they have
- 0:51status in that community. All right? So,
- 0:53your streetwear brand is fine. It will
- 0:55probably have to be premium and it
- 0:56targeted towards the people who have the
- 0:58money, rather than trying to convince
- 0:59people who don't have money to spend
- 1:00money they don't have.
- 1:01Okay? Thing one.
- 1:03Thing two. You can also consider,
- 1:05because of the internet, we're here
- 1:06right now. I'm in America, I'm not in a
- 1:08developing country, but you are, and so
- 1:09we're still talking.
- 1:11Is that you sell not where you live. And
- 1:14so, there's tons of different resources
- 1:15out there in order for you to drop ship,
- 1:17design, ship, cut, 3PL, all of that out
- 1:20of the US to the US if you needed to.
- 1:22And so, you could very well
- 1:24basically do all your business in the
- 1:26US, sell to people who have
- 1:27discretionary income, and
- 1:29live your life in a country that is
- 1:31developing and live like a king, because
- 1:33you don't need to make very much money
- 1:34in US dollars to live in most other
- 1:36countries very comfortably, especially
- 1:37developing. And so, I'd say either of
- 1:39those scenarios working. Door number
- 1:40three, because you didn't ask for it, is
- 1:42you could always just sell stuff in that
- 1:43country that those people want.
- 1:46But, if you like this video and you're
- 1:47business owner who wants to break
- 1:48through your current revenue ceiling, I
- 1:50distilled every lesson from scaling 10
- 1:51businesses past 10 million and three
- 1:53businesses past 100 million into a
- 1:55completely free scaling road map that
- 1:57I've used to go from zero to one, zero
- 1:58to 10, and zero to 100 plus. And so you
- 2:01can click here and you can check it out.
- 2:02Again, absolutely free. And since your
- 2:04business owner appreciates you, and
- 2:05enjoy.
