How to Roam Macro Like Immortal Players — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00I watched every single game from Keyboy,
- 0:02Alec, all the way to Light to figure out
- 0:05how the best roamers in the world play
- 0:07their macro. Starting from how to pick
- 0:09heroes correctly, which lane is the most
- 0:12important to help, rotations from early,
- 0:15mid, and late game, how to zone enemies
- 0:18correctly, your tasks during war, even
- 0:21how to set up the turtle and the lord.
- 0:24The thing is, all of that depends on the
- 0:27hero you're playing. So, let's learn how
- 0:29to draft. Roam heroes are split into
- 0:32three types. Which one you pick depends
- 0:35on the situation. If your team doesn't
- 0:38have two tank heroes yet, pick a tank
- 0:41roamer, one that can absorb a lot of
- 0:44damage, because they always go full tank
- 0:47with no damage items at all, like Grock,
- 0:50Atlas, and Hylos. But, if your team
- 0:53already has two tank heroes, just pick
- 0:56one of these two. Heal roamers are
- 0:58roamers that can heal or shield allies,
- 1:01like Estes, Angela, and Floryn.
- 1:04Meanwhile, damage roamers are roamers
- 1:06that can deal a ton of damage, like
- 1:09Helcurt, Saber, and Natalia. But, which
- 1:12is better? A heal roamer or damage
- 1:15roamer? You have to look at the meta.
- 1:18For example, since in season 40, heal
- 1:21roamers are more meta than damage
- 1:23roamers, prioritize heal roamers. Make
- 1:27sure you understand all of this, because
- 1:29the early game rotation depends on your
- 1:32hero. But, before that, which roam item
- 1:36should you pick? When playing a heal
- 1:38roamer, always pick favor. And when
- 1:41playing a tank or damage roamer, choose
- 1:44between conceal and encourage, depending
- 1:47on your strategy. For pick up
- 1:49strategies, like dive comps, pick
- 1:52conceal for fast rotations. But, for
- 1:54poke or front to back, take encourage.
- 1:58After picking your roam item, you need
- 2:00to understand early game macro.
- 2:03If you play tank roamer, help your mid
- 2:05laner clear the first wave. Then, look
- 2:08at your hero. If your hero is mobile and
- 2:11strong in the early game like Hilda,
- 2:13Khaja, and Khaleed, go invade the enemy
- 2:16jungle next. Then, rotate to the gold
- 2:18lane. Deal damage to the gold laner for
- 2:21a bit before rotating to the mid and XP
- 2:24lane. But, if your hero isn't that
- 2:27strong in the early game like Tigreal,
- 2:29Belerick, and Minotaur, just rotate
- 2:32straight to the XP lane. But, no matter
- 2:35which tank roamer you play, your focus
- 2:38is to control the river. Open all the
- 2:41bushes and light up the map. If an enemy
- 2:44passes through, attack and block their
- 2:46rotation. Tank roamers are super
- 2:49different from heal roamers who
- 2:51shouldn't open the map or push forward
- 2:53too much because your early game is
- 2:56fragile, follow this rotation. Help
- 2:59clear the first mid wave, then look at
- 3:01your hero. If your hero has decent
- 3:04damage in the early game like Angela or
- 3:06Mathilda, rotate to the XP lane so it's
- 3:09easier to win the turtle. But, if your
- 3:12roamer has no damage like Rafaela or
- 3:14Estes, just rotate to the gold lane
- 3:17because you won't be useful in the XP
- 3:19lane. You might even end up feeding the
- 3:21enemy XP laner. But, especially if you
- 3:25play Diggie, don't help your mid laner
- 3:27at the start of the game. Go straight to
- 3:30the gold lane and stick to the enemy
- 3:32gold laner. That'll make the enemy gold
- 3:35laner broke. Keep doing it until the
- 3:37turtle spawns. Different from tank and
- 3:40heal roamers, damage roamers always open
- 3:43the map to the enemy buff in the early
- 3:45game. If the enemy roamer doesn't help,
- 3:48just one V one the enemy jungler to try
- 3:51to steal their buff. But if the enemy
- 3:53roamer helps, just open the map as much
- 3:56as possible before rotating to the gold
- 3:59lane. Because you deal a ton of damage,
- 4:02you can finish off the enemy gold laner
- 4:04right away. Never stay in one lane.
- 4:07Damage roamers always have skills with
- 4:10crazy burst like Helcurt's second skill
- 4:13and Natalia's passive. So every time you
- 4:16rotate to a lane, always unload your
- 4:19burst skills on the enemy. Then escape
- 4:22and move to another lane to do the same
- 4:24thing. All of that helps you before the
- 4:27first turtle spawns, but when the first
- 4:30turtle spawns, your focus has to change.
- 4:33If you play a tank roamer, open all the
- 4:36bushes around the turtle. If the enemy
- 4:39jungler is there, go all in. Use all
- 4:42your skills to zone the enemy jungler.
- 4:44Don't let them through. But if you play
- 4:47a heal roamer, your focus isn't to zone
- 4:50the enemy jungler, but to keep your
- 4:52jungler alive as long as possible. Focus
- 4:56all your heals on them. But if you play
- 4:59a damage roamer, focus on finishing off
- 5:02the enemy jungler. Be careful. Don't
- 5:05open the map like a tank roamer. Just be
- 5:07ready to go all in if the enemy jungler
- 5:10shows up.
- 5:12After the first turtle, follow the
- 5:14rotation from earlier. Tank roamers
- 5:18focus on controlling the map and helping
- 5:20the lane closest to the turtle. Heal
- 5:23roamers focus on helping the mid and
- 5:25gold laner, and damage roamers focus on
- 5:29bursting the enemy side laner.
- 5:312 minutes later, the second turtle will
- 5:34spawn, so pay close attention. If you
- 5:37play a tank or damage roamer, focus on
- 5:40finishing off the enemy jungler. A
- 5:43common mistake is hesitating because
- 5:45you're waiting for the right moment.
- 5:47That mindset will get your jungler
- 5:49picked off by the enemy first. Don't be
- 5:52stingy with spells either. Use
- 5:55everything you have to finish off the
- 5:57enemy jungler. But if you play a heal
- 5:59roamer, your focus isn't on the jungler
- 6:02anymore, but on your XP laner. Use all
- 6:06your heal and utility on them so they
- 6:09can zone safely. Do the same rotation
- 6:12and turtle strategy until the early game
- 6:15ends. Unfortunately, in the mid game,
- 6:18your team's rotation has changed, so you
- 6:21have to adjust your rotation. If you
- 6:24play a tank roamer, you're super tanky
- 6:26because the enemy doesn't have
- 6:28penetration yet. So don't be afraid to
- 6:31make a mess and open the map. But if you
- 6:34play heal roamer, you have to stick with
- 6:36your mid laner because you and your mid
- 6:39are easy to pick off. By sticking
- 6:41together, you can protect each other.
- 6:44Never go alone because in the mid game,
- 6:47the enemy jungler is at their strongest.
- 6:50Only open the map if you have the right
- 6:52skills, like Matilda's first skill,
- 6:55Diggie's first skill, and Angela's first
- 6:58skill. But if you play a damage roamer,
- 7:01the mid game is when you shine because
- 7:03the mage and marksman don't have defense
- 7:06items yet, while you already have two
- 7:08items. So don't hesitate to fight. The
- 7:12thing is, your task during a fight
- 7:15depends on your hero. If you play tank
- 7:18roamer, your task is to look for
- 7:20mistakes from the enemy damage dealers,
- 7:22[music] like standing in front of the
- 7:24tank, walking into bushes, and not
- 7:27keeping their distance. Just go all in
- 7:30when they're out of position. If you
- 7:32play a heal roamer, always stand near
- 7:35your damage dealer
- 7:36>> [music]
- 7:36>> and focus on protecting them. But if you
- 7:39play a damage roamer, your task is to
- 7:42flank the [music] enemy damage dealer.
- 7:44Pick them off so the chance of winning
- 7:47the war is higher. Make sure you
- 7:49understand how to fight because it'll be
- 7:51super useful in the late game where your
- 7:54rotation will focus around the Lord. If
- 7:58you play a tank roamer, you always have
- 8:00to be in the jungle area close to the
- 8:03Lord. Then look at your marksman. If
- 8:06your marksman is flanking, your task is
- 8:09to follow them and flank. If not, focus
- 8:13on opening the map in the Lord area.
- 8:15Don't worry about the far lane and don't
- 8:18open a fight alone. Make sure your team
- 8:21is ready to follow up before starting a
- 8:24war. The hero you're targeting is the
- 8:26enemy marksman. Don't be stingy with
- 8:29skills and don't wait for the perfect
- 8:31moment. The important thing is you have
- 8:34to go all in on the enemy marksman. But
- 8:38if you play a heal roamer, always stay
- 8:40in the back. Let the tank heroes open
- 8:43the map and the heroes with mobility
- 8:45clear the far lane. Your task is to keep
- 8:48your marksman alive as long as possible.
- 8:51Always stick to them wherever they are.
- 8:54But if you play a damage roamer, you can
- 8:57clear the far lane. In fact, if your
- 9:00hero can push lane like Helcurt or
- 9:03Natalia, you can split push to bait the
- 9:06enemy back before rotating straight to
- 9:09the Lord. Be careful. The enemy already
- 9:12has defense items so you can't burst
- 9:14them like in the early and mid game.
