0:43gonna come up block faster yeah I know
0:45what that's good that that's part of it
0:47that that's better than nothing but a
0:49much better way to do it the way the
0:51old-time panel guys used to do this is
0:52part of the pheromone method you took

3:30people say it's got the crown it's got
3:32to be body lines it's actually both see
3:35we're not we're not hitting this down
3:38we're not actually moving the body line
3:40to get the bottom line up we're putting
3:43pressure on the body line to help the
3:44crown roll into it and the ideal way
3:47like I said I mean it would be just
3:49wonderful if we could get and I'm a
3:50lumen when we can't if we could put a
3:53little bit of pressure right on that
3:55body line maybe 30 40 pounds not even
3:58that much 25 20 25 pounds just a little
4:01bit we wouldn't even have that problem
4:02of that one then that one gets bigger I
4:04mean if this really doesn't happen but
4:06it happens 10 50 percent of the time so
4:08they put pressure on it that would roll
4:10even faster but again we have two hands
4:12no helper and we don't have a whole lot
4:15to get through anyway sometimes and
4:17kind of wanna do a gluco and so if I
4:18have to drill even have to do this so if
4:21this roll makes that crown look worse
4:24you had that out beautifully beautifully
4:26then you go and tapping it down in there
4:28that's a sure sign give them that dent
4:30put a few pushes or moderate Lupul then
4:32go right back to your crotch could you
4:35potentially put it blue tab in the
4:37center handle we're gonna get to that
4:41that actually does work very well now
4:42when I went out when I will do that is
4:44when those crowns are stiff in that and
4:46I didn't do that directing in the dent
4:48away I want I can do that absolutely
4:50they make bridge pose of pullers and
4:52stuff like that you can put across it
4:54and then help that but again see
4:55everybody gets carried away I want to
4:57move that Bonnie line up
4:58not until the crown washes and then
5:01knock yourself out what we don't want to
5:03do is trap the metal from that dent pass
5:06the crime you don't want to do that
5:07that's gonna make our see I'm finishing
5:08everything we do people say well I want
5:11to move metal I do too
5:13but what I want to do a lot more I want
5:16to make my finishing go faster okay so
5:18I'm not but I see it then first thing I
5:21think of how do I make my finishing go
5:22faster here not how do I move the metal
5:24and I know from experience and a fair
5:27amount of method I mean just this is
5:28what you learn like day one and it keep
5:30reinforcing it that the crown it's like
5:34a wave you want to move that crown
5:36energy into the Bonnie line that's
5:39what's going to get you a better
5:40quickest and cleanest finish get a mute
5:43if you just force that up and those body
5:45lines will look like the king down
5:46you're gonna have you have to spend more
5:48time finishing now that's not a hundred
5:51percent rule sometimes you can do that
5:53you're just fine but usually you get a
5:54much faster finish if that energy is
5:57button to pretend it is just the whole
5:59lastin first-out I know your dad taught
6:00you that right okay the best last you
6:04will go over that when you get that
6:05large tends to last in first out well
6:07the Crown's did happen last okay well
6:09actually they didn't is one more for so
6:11when we get to large dance so you wanted
6:13to take that energy move it back into

6:50getting back of a pound who force that

7:00that's the bulk of your time yeah I'm a
7:02difference between a 95 to 98 percent
7:03repair if you don't if you don't release
7:07that energy properly you can take as
7:10long as it took you to do you're dead
7:11they get useless extra 3% you don't want
7:13that you want your finishing to go pass
7:15so that's what we base everything I'm
7:17not moving metal I want my finishing to
7:19go fast and this is one of the ways you
7:21do okay you want to start the back wash

7:29cleaner repair because when we glue pull

7:50everything in the panel and save it down
7:52long for whatever reason we decide that
7:55we don't want to uh we don't want to
8:01blue polish think we have to let's take
8:04a repaint man I don't know I had plus I
8:07have a nice hole there I'm just gonna go
8:08ahead and use your body
8:15let's say that was the original size of
8:17your dad before you watch the Crompton
8:21let's say you watch this crowd and now
8:24you're left with something like that
8:26you gotta left okay now at this point
8:29absolutely you go through and start
8:32picking up your you're a bad line I
8:34always double-check for beginning when
8:37you start out it's usually easier to do
8:38it through the Pinstripe by going
8:39outside them outside the body like one
8:41more time where the crowns used to be
8:43gay so the crown used to be up there so
8:50what I do is that with my pinstripe
8:51after one you'll be able to see even
8:53better than flawed but but your pins
8:55stick through the entire area with a
8:57body line if you see any pinches not
9:00from now you don't want to see any pinky
9:03what you should see ideal yeah actually
9:04done a few dozen of these and you know
9:06when you're practicing these you're
9:07going to pinch that to see almost
9:09absolutely nothing until you get right
9:10to the rim of your dent and even a
9:12little bit past it so it's just a
9:13beautiful straight no pinched pin line
9:16pinched right from this side that side
9:18you are ready to glue Paul or pick up
9:21okay so that is the original side of the
9:24road in you watched our crown jump and
9:26we ended up with something like that so
9:28now we go and we soft tip now when we
9:29start picking up our body line then we
9:31decided for whatever reason we don't
9:32want to glue pull and we're picking it
9:34up and everything is going to cool body
9:36links coming right up where to stand
9:38right on that body line and a lot of
9:39times it works like that you get it
9:40right to finish and you're done
9:42sometimes when you're picking up and
9:44you're going Wow noticeable difference
9:46that body length all the sudden just
9:48does not want to come up anymore and
9:50this is another con the cardinal rules
9:52we've already talked about this one
9:53metal isn't flowing when it's not moving
9:56like water when it's resisting you
9:58there's pressure on it up somewhere and
10:01you need to find out where it is cuz
10:02again not because you want to move up no
10:04I want my finishing to go faster that's
10:07what I'm after so that's at picking up
10:09my body I also doesn't want to move mmm
10:12what happened it check your clean
10:14straight line I got those crowns in it
10:15what is going on here
10:17usually it can be more than usually it's
10:19one of two things
10:20if you check with your father on you're
10:23probably going to see small little
10:25shoulders right however you're picking
10:27up you'll see that you know in a
10:29pinstripe is a pinch I like seen them in

11:17gonna pick a lip like crazy we have to
11:19pretty much stay with us up there at
11:218:35 guard cap I told you about you
11:23don't love that when you can use it so
11:25you see these shoulders put down your
11:29tool tap those shoulders now look at it
11:32from all all directions make sure you
11:33don't have usually we have one you cut
11:35others
11:35you put your tool on the body light and
11:37hold now let's pick them up again
11:39so basically doing is we're kind of
11:41forcing the rest of the panel to take a
11:44little bit extra mellow it's just
11:46temporarily once we get that body line
11:47up we're cool you can actually over push
11:50our body line just a Titch and you'll
11:52never see it and it solves a multitude
11:54of issues when you're doing body line
11:55cookies you're going to do this all the
11:57time achieve is messed up body lines
11:59Tech did I almost always push my body
12:01line just a Titch proud of the panel
12:03because it gets me a better finish look
12:06terrific Oh spits it's not the right
12:07thing to do technically but it's going
12:09to get that 95 percent better your
12:11improvement that I promised a customer
12:12and maybe is gonna be some of your worst
12:14cookies that you're going to see so what
12:16we're gonna do we have to force the
12:19metal from there into the panel
12:21temporarily
12:22pick it up was good to go now the other
12:25that can happen you look at you see I
12:26have no crowns I got no shoulders or
12:29what is going on here well one of the
12:30other common things that can be is
12:32that's the dance way of saying we
12:34complete please put some perimeter
12:36pressure put some perimeter pushes in
12:38here for me so you say well stuck
12:40pushing on the primary guess what knots
12:42coming up nice easy it just had a little
12:44bit of perimeter pressure like you saw
12:45on you know some of those deep bench you
12:46did you put your fall board back and you
12:48watch you there's like a little mold all
12:50around the perimeter that's the Fox
12:52thing hey can you help me yeah
12:54you put your perimeter prices go to
12:55thank you it's coming up nice and clean
12:57so as long you have your father Justin
12:59correctly they'll always know where to
13:00push next okay so we push on the
13:03perimeter areas coming up let's say
13:05we're pushing on a program it's tucks
13:06resisting hmm I don't have any shoulders
13:08no pick up on a bond that body lines
13:10pick it up nice and easy so it's usually
13:12not always now but usually one of those
13:15three so you just go back and forth
13:16between them well that's why I'm
13:27important to just keep the key it's the
13:29basics whenever you screw up it's the
13:31basic I guarantee you mister basis okay
13:35okay so we've got that handled now let's
13:38say that we've picked our body line up
13:41or gonna pull this but we still see and
13:44this will happen to you sometimes to see
13:45a little bit of something right around
13:48the impact point usually just a soft
13:50little low and you go by that that
13:52shouldn't be too hard to do at all so
13:54we're still using our tool we pick up on
13:56that puppy and it goes my back down I
13:58don't thought this is hmm all right mmm
14:01really force that puppy up and it still
14:04wants to come back down to going why is
14:05it that little thing and it's not even
14:08deep it's not even deep why is it giving
14:11me such a hassle usually what that is
14:15because body line hinging okay what it
14:20is basically this thing got it you think
14:25well I'm just looking at the dent that's
14:27where the damage was
14:28well no not on the body line a lot of
14:30times what will happen is
14:33clear how to extend a body line here the
14:38the old time formula for it was a
14:40formula it was kind of an axiom that
14:42again they use take the original size of
14:45the dent before you fixed it before you
14:47did anything to it
14:48go back fire on either side of with that
14:52little lowers and what happened is this
14:57area here and here did not watch the
15:02body lunch start off here now you can
15:04see the back when actually reverse the
15:06bottom line okay but from here to here
15:08what happened is just that just that
15:11little bit it will be deal is a big deal
15:14from clear to here to here and there to
15:17there your bottom line watch doctors
15:20live it got a little bit flatter that's
15:22a lot of energy and while you're picking

16:05so if I'm to do that right off the bat
16:07now if it's that kind of it if it's a
16:09bad body line injury or a moderate one
16:12it'll show up and get you hit like six
16:14seven feedback from car you go oh that's
16:16that's that's yeah I definitely do have
16:18when
16:18tell just by shutting down that panel
16:20it's soft but it is there I'll go ahead
16:22and probably do I know I'll probably get
16:25the bulk of it I'll get the crowds out
16:27and I might do that
16:28breath a bit kind of pinch but I have to
16:30get the crown out even before I let the
16:32body line up I mean put a few pushes
16:34maybe one little pole I would stop at
16:36that point and I would even wait till I
16:38got to that point I would probably do it
16:39at that point and I want my body of my
16:41hinge up the worse it is the earlier all
16:43started because that that could become
16:45kind of a mega force sometimes it's a
16:46really bad body language now I've seen
16:49some it's like that you don't think a
16:50six-inch diameter and Dan you think a
16:52little big deal
16:53clear to the end of a panel it happened
16:56it does happen
16:58okay so yeah the various time you want
17:00to get that up you know when in doubt go
17:02ahead and pick it up but if you suck
17:03down you see you probably get that as
17:06soon as you get those crowns washed up
17:07possibly maybe even before it did to
17:10panitch there are times without do the
17:12body line hinge the very first layer but
17:14it did kill counter berries stay well I
17:17know I think it a tool on this just an
17:19aluminum hood come on we're supposed to
17:21do guy can you get a tool on that well
17:24you can get some of the Flathead you've
17:26got nowadays you can put them across the
17:28body line and shock them with a slight
17:30hammer usually Valley move them it'll
17:32sharpen them up not always better I find
17:34it okay you heat them up a little bit
17:36will show you shock it up that'll
17:38usually do it because sometime you gotta
17:40be careful I've done too much and
17:41actually we've been proud of balance but
17:44Google is right about this competence oh
17:46yeah I mean you know this is the biggest
17:48thing
17:49how often have you done I know you've
17:52done it you fixed a six-inch bodyline
17:55dent you look on that looks great
17:56everybody comes running man this is the
17:58Mercedes and you blocked it beautifully
18:00customer gonna be so happy and the
18:01customer cousins
18:02you guys did great work looks brand-new
18:04and touch my dad's way you come back
18:07proud of yourself but six months later
18:10he shows up for some unrelated thing on
18:12the other side of the car you go I want
18:13to see my work lanugo what uh I know I
18:16did a better job blocking that you did
18:17you left residual pressure locked up in
18:20the bed guaranteed the bile on Aging is
18:22one of the primary residual pressures

20:02bodyline dent on Luna I bet it is a
20:09little got a quarter size for comparison
20:13it's a easily golf-ball plus signs
20:26and apply everything we've learned about
20:28crowds with this we're going to wash
20:29their crowns into that body line before
20:35we glue pull I mean I get all of them
20:38are you may have to give me about 80% of
20:40the crowns before we have to pull the
20:42body line my be nice to get all
20:44the crowns completely Washington but on
20:45something that deep may not happening so
20:49we have to get most of the crowd get the
20:52body language and then go back to the
20:54crown to watch the rest of it in Lucy
20:58you ever a pinstripe and the Frog
21:00together through the crown see it
21:02pinches fairly good from there and stop
21:08pinching right about to who ready to pop
21:12there would be the back of the crown
21:14that's what's just starting to form the
21:16panel and inspects the instincts and
21:20pinch that stays the same thickness so
21:23right about there with a crown stopped
21:26for me in the panel if you look you see
21:29the curve and I just have to pinch right
21:31there really pinch right about there
21:35that's going to be the high point of the
21:37crown so he's been started right about
21:38there and tap it into the dent and you
21:44can do the same thing on top

22:11keep washing that right in the bottom on

23:14and sixty degrees before we put the glue
23:16on this is going to give us an extra
23:18strong pull and on aluminum weed all the
23:20help we can get
23:55we make it a one-hit wonder you want to
24:07sign that up a little bit good first of
24:11all Ryan's done washing the crimes the
24:15remainder of the crowning of the Dead we
24:18got to make two passes on those crowns
24:19and stop and pull the body line up in
24:21the middle we couldn't get 100% of those
24:23crowns and wash them back in so we did
24:25our first set of washing the crimes in
24:28when we washed but eighty tonight 85
24:30percent of all those crowned in the dent
24:32and final 10 to 15 we had to make one
24:36more pull on that or what I'll pull on
24:38that body line to get that rest them to
24:40remove properly and this is all we have
24:43left in the real world we would tool
24:45this up but we're gonna pretend me at
24:47the glue pull at all don't get to pull
24:50it fast you're waiting I didn't get it
24:54nothing dude
25:09last pull loop that wasn't quite enough
25:13we're gonna go in there with a tool just
25:15clean up a little bit just a little bit
25:20too deep and come on upper side we go
25:21pulling okay it ended up we did put a
25:32few pushes in here we couldn't get a
25:33100% on the glue pulling so I had
25:36misjudged that but that was a pretty
25:38deep golf ball-sized end korfball plus
25:41size and I've done by Ryan Roberto

25:53somebody starting out a little Bobby
