- 0:00Welcome to E.W. Kenyon Revelations
- 0:02Channel, where we explore the truths of
- 0:03God's word and discover the realities of
- 0:06the new creation in Christ. Get ready to
- 0:08grow in revelation knowledge and
- 0:09discover who you truly are in Christ
- 0:11Jesus.
- 0:13What do you do when you believe God, but
- 0:16your financial situation keeps telling
- 0:18you that you are in trouble? Your salary
- 0:21enters your account, and before you can
- 0:23even breathe, it has already been
- 0:25divided among the people you owe. One
- 0:28person is calling, another is sending
- 0:30messages. Your rent is waiting, your
- 0:32family has needs. There are bills you
- 0:35cannot postpone, and promises you made
- 0:37that you do not know how you will
- 0:39fulfill. Then night comes, everywhere is
- 0:42quiet, and your mind becomes noisy. You
- 0:44calculate what you owe, you calculate
- 0:47what you have, then you calculate again,
- 0:49hoping the figures will somehow change.
- 0:51But when you finish, the numbers are
- 0:53still the same. Maybe you have prayed,
- 0:55maybe you have fasted, maybe you have
- 0:57declared scriptures over your life, and
- 0:59yet you are still asking, "Lord, how
- 1:02will I come out of this? How do I
- 1:03believe you when I cannot see a way
- 1:05forward?" Before we say anything else,
- 1:08hear this. God is not indifferent to
- 1:10your debt. He sees the pressure, he
- 1:12knows the figures, and he is interested
- 1:14in bringing you out. Psalm 34:17,
- 1:17"The righteous cry, and the Lord
- 1:19heareth, and delivereth them out of all
- 1:21their troubles."
- 1:23There is a woman in the Bible who stood
- 1:25exactly where you are standing.
- 1:27Second Kings, chapter 4.
- 1:30Her husband had died, and a creditor had
- 1:32come to take her two sons. That was a
- 1:35real debt and real pressure, and God did
- 1:38not look away. He met her at that door
- 1:40and led her step by step all the way
- 1:42out. We are going to come back to her.
- 1:45This message is anchored in the book
- 1:46Faith for Finances by E.W. Kenyon,
- 1:49together with the word of God. And we
- 1:51will walk through practical steps that
- 1:53move you from confusion toward a plan. I
- 1:56am not going to tell you to pretend your
- 1:58debt does not exist, and I will never
- 2:00tell you that being in debt means you
- 2:02lack faith. Whatever brought you here,
- 2:04you are not disqualified from God's
- 2:06help. The present condition of your
- 2:08finances does not have to become the
- 2:10final definition of your life.
- 2:12So, here is the question that will guide
- 2:14us. How can a believer exercise faith in
- 2:17God for provision while also receiving
- 2:19wisdom and taking practical steps? And
- 2:22what if God is also pointing you toward
- 2:24an opportunity to recognize or a step to
- 2:27take? Let us begin with the foundation.
- 2:30Do not let debt become your identity.
- 2:32When a person lives under constant
- 2:34pressure, debt can begin to feel like
- 2:36who you are. Instead of saying, "I made
- 2:39a mistake," they conclude, "Nothing ever
- 2:41works for me." Instead of saying, "My
- 2:43income is not enough right now," they
- 2:45say, "I will never get ahead."
- 2:48Pay attention to that change. A
- 2:49financial situation has quietly become a
- 2:52statement about the whole person and the
- 2:55whole future. Second Corinthians 5:7,
- 2:58"For we walk by faith, not by sight."
- 3:01That does not mean we refuse to look at
- 3:03the facts. It means what is happening
- 3:05today does not have to become a prophecy
- 3:08about every day that follows. You may
- 3:10owe money today. That is a fact to face.
- 3:13It does not mean you must stay in this
- 3:15place for the rest of your life. Think
- 3:17about two people who owe the same
- 3:19amount. The first says, "I am finished.
- 3:22There is no way out." That is an
- 3:24understandable reaction. But, because he
- 3:26expects defeat, he avoids the figures,
- 3:29ignores the messages, and never seeks
- 3:31advice. The second says, "This is
- 3:33serious, but I will face it. I will seek
- 3:36God for wisdom and take the next
- 3:38responsible step." And the debt does not
- 3:40vanish that day, but the second man has
- 3:43stepped into the place where God's help
- 3:45can meet him. His circumstances are not
- 3:48instantly transformed. His direction has
- 3:50changed. Proverbs 23:7, for as he
- 3:54thinketh in his heart, so is he. And the
- 3:56psalmist, Psalm 42:11, "Why art thou
- 4:00cast down, oh my soul? And why art thou
- 4:02disquieted within me? Hope thou in God."
- 4:05He did not pretend his soul was fine. He
- 4:07told it where to look. So, instead of
- 4:09saying, "My life is over," say, "I am
- 4:11facing a financial challenge and God is
- 4:14helping me address it with faith,
- 4:15wisdom, and integrity." Instead of
- 4:18saying, "I am a failure," say, "I can
- 4:20acknowledge my mistakes without making
- 4:22them my identity." These are not magic
- 4:24phrases. They are truthful statements
- 4:27that refuse to let despair govern your
- 4:29thinking. Now, we have to go deeper. If
- 4:32you are going to approach your finances
- 4:34through faith, what are you actually
- 4:35placing your faith in? In the money you
- 4:37have? In the person who promised to
- 4:39help? Or in what you know of God and his
- 4:41word?
- 4:43That brings us to the next foundation.
- 4:45Now, let us look at something many
- 4:46people skip when they are under
- 4:48financial pressure.
- 4:50They begin with panic. We are going to
- 4:52begin with the Father.
- 4:54Matthew chapter 6. Jesus is speaking to
- 4:57people who are anxious about daily
- 4:59needs, food, drink, clothing. And he
- 5:03says, verse 32, "For your heavenly
- 5:05Father knoweth that ye have need of all
- 5:07these things." Notice those words, "Your
- 5:10Father knows."
- 5:12You are not approaching a stranger who
- 5:13has never heard about human need.
- 5:16Jesus presents God as Father. He knows
- 5:18that you need food. He knows that you
- 5:20need shelter. He knows about the rent,
- 5:22the school fees, the repayment date.
- 5:25Some people pray as though they have to
- 5:27convince God to care, as if he is
- 5:29distant or has not noticed. But Jesus
- 5:32points us in the opposite direction.
- 5:35Psalm 103:13,
- 5:37"Like as a father pitieth his children,
- 5:40so the Lord pitieth them that fear him."
- 5:43And Romans 8:32, "He that spared not his
- 5:46own son, but delivered him up for us
- 5:48all, how shall he not with him also
- 5:50freely give us all things? If God has
- 5:53already given you his son, he is not
- 5:55looking for a reason to ignore your
- 5:57need. He is interested in you. He is
- 5:59interested in bringing you out. Matthew
- 6:027:11, If ye then, being evil, know how
- 6:05to give good gifts unto your children,
- 6:07how much more shall your Father which is
- 6:09in heaven give good things to them that
- 6:11ask him? If you want good things for the
- 6:13people you love, how much more does he?
- 6:16Philippians 4:19, But my God shall
- 6:18supply all your need according to his
- 6:20riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Not
- 6:23according to your bank balance, not
- 6:25according to your credit score,
- 6:26according to his riches in glory. Psalm
- 6:2934:10,
- 6:31The young lions do lack and suffer
- 6:33hunger, but they that seek the Lord
- 6:35shall not want any good thing. Hold on
- 6:38to that promise and do not turn it into
- 6:40a deadline. You do not have to tell God
- 6:43the date by which the money must arrive.
- 6:45You can trust the God who supplies to
- 6:48know the right time and the right way.
- 6:50And remember that the way may surprise
- 6:52you. Provision may come through work, a
- 6:54customer, a new job, a practical idea,
- 6:57an act of kindness, advice that changes
- 7:00how you handle your situation, a door
- 7:02you had not considered. Picture someone
- 7:04praying, Father, I need money to pay my
- 7:06debts. That is a good prayer, but
- 7:08suppose that person has a skill that
- 7:10could earn income and has never used it.
- 7:13Suppose there is a better job they have
- 7:14been afraid to apply for. Suppose they
- 7:17are paying avoidable charges because
- 7:18they have never called the lender to ask
- 7:21about a new arrangement. Could part of
- 7:23the answer to their prayer be sitting
- 7:25closer than they think? This does not
- 7:27mean God cannot provide in extraordinary
- 7:29ways. He can, but we do not want to
- 7:32become so fixed on one kind of miracle
- 7:34that we miss the open door in front of
- 7:36us.
- 7:38So, when you pray, make room for his
- 7:40guidance. You can say, "Father, I need
- 7:43provision and I'm asking you for help.
- 7:45Give me wisdom to recognize the
- 7:47opportunities before me. Show me what to
- 7:49change. Help me to act with courage and
- 7:52integrity and keep me from decisions
- 7:54that would deepen my difficulty." That
- 7:57is not a lesser prayer. It asks for both
- 7:59provision and the wisdom to walk toward
- 8:01it. Now, here is a question. If the
- 8:04Father knows our needs, why do so many
- 8:07people remain trapped in worry even
- 8:10after they pray?
- 8:12The book Faith for Finances speaks about
- 8:14something we need here, receiving.
- 8:16Asking and receiving are not the same
- 8:19experience. It is possible to ask God
- 8:21for help and then live all day as though
- 8:24no one heard. Philippians 4:6 and 7. Be
- 8:28careful for nothing, but in everything
- 8:30by prayer and supplication with
- 8:32thanksgiving, let your requests be made
- 8:34known unto God and the peace of God,
- 8:37which passeth all understanding, shall
- 8:39keep your hearts and minds through
- 8:41Christ Jesus. I notice that thanksgiving
- 8:44is part of the instruction.
- 8:47When you pray about debt, you may not
- 8:49yet have the money. You may not know how
- 8:51you will meet the next payment, but you
- 8:53can still thank God that you are able to
- 8:55seek him for wisdom. You can thank him
- 8:57for the scriptures that guide you. You
- 8:59can thank him for the strength to face
- 9:01what you have been avoiding. You can
- 9:03thank him for the people who may advise
- 9:05you and the opportunities you are about
- 9:07to investigate. Thanksgiving is not a
- 9:10trick to force God to act. It is an
- 9:12expression of trust in the one to whom
- 9:14you have prayed. And here is what often
- 9:17happens. A person prays, "Father, I
- 9:20trust you." The prayer ends and the mind
- 9:22returns to panic. What if the money does
- 9:25not come? What if the creditor calls?
- 9:27What if nothing changes?"
- 9:29If that has been you, do not feel
- 9:31guilty. Financial pressure is real and
- 9:34fear is not easy to manage. We are only
- 9:37learning to notice the cycle so that we
- 9:39can respond to it differently and that
- 9:41is where we go next. So, what do you do
- 9:44when the anxious thought comes?
- 9:47You do not have to pretend it never
- 9:49appeared. Acknowledge it and then turn
- 9:51your attention back to what you know and
- 9:53what you can do.
- 9:56You can say, "I am concerned about this
- 9:58payment, but panic will not solve it. I
- 10:00will review my plan, seek advice if I
- 10:02need it, and take the next step, and I
- 10:04will keep trusting God for wisdom and
- 10:06provision."
- 10:08Then act.
- 10:09If the next step is to contact a
- 10:11creditor, do it. If it is to check the
- 10:13real balance, check it. If it is to ask
- 10:16someone knowledgeable for advice, reach
- 10:18out. And if there is nothing useful you
- 10:20can do at that moment, return to prayer,
- 10:23to rest, and to the responsibilities in
- 10:25front of you.
- 10:27First Peter 5:7, "Casting all your care
- 10:30upon him, for he careth for you. For he
- 10:33careth for you." That is not a small
- 10:34phrase. The one you are praying to is
- 10:37interested in you. Psalm 55:22,
- 10:40"Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he
- 10:42shall sustain thee. He shall never
- 10:44suffer the righteous to be moved." Cast
- 10:46it. Do not carry it alone through the
- 10:48night. Isaiah 26:3,
- 10:51"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace
- 10:53whose mind is stayed on thee because he
- 10:55trusteth in thee." And Isaiah 41:10,
- 10:59"Fear thou not, for I am with thee. Be
- 11:01not dismayed, for I am thy God. I will
- 11:03strengthen thee." "Yea, I will help
- 11:06thee. I will help thee." That is his
- 11:07promise to you in the middle of the
- 11:09pressure. Receiving God's peace does not
- 11:12mean the problem has already
- 11:13disappeared. It means the problem does
- 11:16not have to consume every part of your
- 11:18inner life. You can be working through
- 11:20debt while learning to live without
- 11:22constant panic. You can be waiting for
- 11:24an opportunity without treating every
- 11:27delay as proof that God has abandoned
- 11:29you.
- 11:30And this matters because panic pushes
- 11:32people into worse decisions. A person
- 11:35who feels desperate may accept a loan
- 11:37with punishing terms, put money into a
- 11:40scheme they do not understand, or
- 11:42promise repayment on a date they cannot
- 11:44keep. Proverbs 14:15,
- 11:48"The simple believeth every word, but
- 11:50the prudent man looketh well to his
- 11:53going."
- 11:54Peace gives you room to look well to
- 11:56your going, to ask, "Is this wise? What
- 11:59will this cost me? What happens if the
- 12:01expected money does not arrive? Is there
- 12:04a safer way?" Now, let us talk about the
- 12:06words we speak. Mark 11:23, "Whosoever
- 12:10shall say unto this mountain, 'Be thou
- 12:12removed, and be thou cast into the sea,
- 12:15and shall not doubt in his heart, but
- 12:17shall believe that those things which he
- 12:19saith shall come to pass, he shall have
- 12:21whatsoever he saith." Faith for finances
- 12:24stands in a tradition that takes those
- 12:26words seriously, and they invite us to
- 12:29listen to our own language under
- 12:31pressure.
- 12:32Listen to yourself for a day. Do you
- 12:34keep saying, "I am finished"? Do you
- 12:36tell yourself you will never prosper? Do
- 12:38you call yourself a permanent failure?
- 12:41Proverbs 18:21,
- 12:44"Death and life are in the power of the
- 12:46tongue, and they that love it shall eat
- 12:48the fruit thereof." The things we repeat
- 12:51shape our expectations. If you keep
- 12:54saying there is no way forward, you may
- 12:56stop looking for one. If you keep
- 12:58calling yourself incapable, you may
- 13:00avoid the very steps that could help you
- 13:02grow.
- 13:03But faith is not pretending. Speaking
- 13:06faith does not mean denying your debt,
- 13:08misleading a creditor, or announcing
- 13:11that money has arrived when it has not.
- 13:13Faith is confidence in God that changes
- 13:16how you respond, not confidence in a
- 13:19formula, confidence in a father who is
- 13:21interested in your way out.
- 13:23So, you can say, "I owe this money, and
- 13:26I am taking responsibility for it. I
- 13:28believe God can give me wisdom and help
- 13:31me recognize opportunities. I will not
- 13:33surrender to hopelessness. I will act
- 13:35with integrity or my income is not
- 13:38enough for my present obligations, so I
- 13:40will make changes. I am seeking God for
- 13:43wisdom and taking practical steps. Those
- 13:46statements do not deny the problem. They
- 13:48refuse to let defeat have the last word.
- 13:51Hebrews 10:23, Let us hold fast the
- 13:54profession of our faith without
- 13:56wavering, for he is faithful that
- 13:58promised. Hold fast because the one who
- 14:00promised is faithful and let your words
- 14:03and your actions agree. If you confess
- 14:06integrity, be honest with the people you
- 14:08owe. If you confess wisdom, read the
- 14:10terms before you accept a loan. If you
- 14:13confess diligence, follow through on the
- 14:15work you have decided to do.
- 14:18One more thing, a financial setback does
- 14:20not mean you spoke the wrong words. No
- 14:23one should use this teaching to accuse a
- 14:25struggling person of causing their own
- 14:27hardship. Our words are meant to express
- 14:30faith, truth, and hope, not to
- 14:32manipulate God or to blame people. God
- 14:34is not asking you to speak perfectly. He
- 14:37is inviting you to speak truthfully and
- 14:39hopefully. But what if you have been
- 14:41praying for money and it has not come?
- 14:43There is something else to look at, the
- 14:45resources and abilities already within
- 14:47your reach. Let us return to that
- 14:49question. What if you have been praying
- 14:51for money and it has not come? Before we
- 14:54ask God for something new, there is a
- 14:57better question. What has he already
- 14:59placed in your hand?
- 15:01Deuteronomy 8:18, But thou shalt
- 15:04remember the Lord thy God, for it is he
- 15:07that giveth thee power to get wealth.
- 15:09Notice what God gives, not only money
- 15:12that falls from the sky, power, ability,
- 15:15opportunity, the strength to produce.
- 15:19When people hear the the supernatural
- 15:21provision, they may think of an
- 15:22unexpected gift or a debt paid by
- 15:25someone else. God can do that. We should
- 15:28never limit him, but provision can also
- 15:30come through ability that he helps you
- 15:32develop. Now, I promised to come back to
- 15:34a woman, 2 Kings chapter 4. Uh her
- 15:37husband had died. A creditor was at her
- 15:39door ready to take her two sons. She
- 15:42cried out to the prophet Elisha, and
- 15:44Elisha asked her a question, verse 2,
- 15:47"What shall I do for thee? Tell me, what
- 15:49hast thou in the house?" She answered,
- 15:51"Thine handmaid hath not anything in the
- 15:53house save a pot of oil." A pot of oil,
- 15:56that is all she thought she had. And
- 15:58notice something, she did not hide her
- 16:00debt. She cried out. She brought her
- 16:02need to someone who could help. Shame
- 16:04keeps people silent, but she brought the
- 16:06problem into the light. But she was not
- 16:09left alone with it. Elisha told her to
- 16:11go and borrow empty vessels from her
- 16:13neighbors, [snorts] not a few, then to
- 16:15shut the door and pour. And she did. She
- 16:18poured and the oil kept flowing until
- 16:20every vessel was full. And when there
- 16:22was not a vessel more, the oil stayed.
- 16:25Then she told the man of God, and he
- 16:27said, verse 7, "Go, sell the oil and pay
- 16:30thy debt and live thou and thy children
- 16:32of the rest."
- 16:33Pay thy debt and live of the rest.
- 16:36Hear what God did for her. He did not
- 16:38only clear the debt, he gave her a way
- 16:40to live afterwards. He was interested in
- 16:43bringing her out completely. And look at
- 16:46how the miracle and the action worked
- 16:48together. She had a need, a small
- 16:50resource, and instructions to follow.
- 16:53She asked her neighbors. She closed the
- 16:55door. She poured. She sold. And she
- 16:58paid. God's provision met her obedience.
- 17:01And sometimes your next step involves
- 17:03other people, too. People who have what
- 17:06you need.
- 17:07So, here is a question for you. What is
- 17:09in your house? It may look empty, but an
- 17:11empty-looking house is exactly where God
- 17:14asked the question. Maybe you are a
- 17:15tailor, a designer, a mechanic, a
- 17:18teacher, an editor, a cook, a
- 17:21technician. You have an ability that
- 17:22serves a real need, but you have never
- 17:25thought carefully about making it more
- 17:27productive. Could your next step be to
- 17:29sharpen the skill, improve your work, or
- 17:32find a better way to reach the people
- 17:33who need it?
- 17:35Proverbs 22:29,
- 17:37"Seest thou a man diligent in his
- 17:39business? He shall stand before kings.
- 17:42He shall not stand before mean men."
- 17:45God honors the person who develops what
- 17:47he has put in their hands.
- 17:50Maybe you are employed, but your income
- 17:52cannot cover your responsibilities. You
- 17:54might explore training that raises your
- 17:57earning potential or a small extra
- 17:59service that will not put your job at
- 18:02risk. Maybe you have a business and
- 18:04sales have fallen. You might review the
- 18:07value you provide, who you serve, your
- 18:09costs, and how you speak to your
- 18:11customers. None of this is a guaranteed
- 18:14formula. A job application may be
- 18:16rejected. A skill takes time. That is
- 18:20why we ask for wisdom. James 1:5, "If
- 18:24any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of
- 18:26God that giveth to all men liberally and
- 18:29upbraideth not, and it shall be given
- 18:31him." Upbraideth not. He will not scold
- 18:34you for asking. So, ask. What ability do
- 18:38I need to develop? What opportunity
- 18:40should I look into? What habit is making
- 18:42things worse? What am I avoiding because
- 18:45I am afraid? What can I do with what I
- 18:48already have?
- 18:49Then listen and act carefully. Do not
- 18:52spend money you cannot afford on a
- 18:54scheme that promises guaranteed returns.
- 18:57Do not take a dangerous loan for an
- 18:59untested idea just because you want a
- 19:02quick breakthrough. Do not mistake
- 19:04pressure for direction. Courage and
- 19:06discernment belong together. And do not
- 19:09despise a small step. Zechariah 4:10,
- 19:12"For who hath despised the day of small
- 19:14things?" A phone call, a job
- 19:17application, a course, a careful review
- 19:19of your spending. The provision you need
- 19:21may begin with an ability you develop,
- 19:23an opportunity you recognize, or a
- 19:26decision you finally make.
- 19:28Before we continue, I want to mention
- 19:31something that may help with exactly
- 19:33this. Our Secret Place Devotional, a
- 19:3690-day practical journey with the Holy
- 19:38Spirit, is now live. It is made to help
- 19:41you listen for his guidance day by day.
- 19:43You will find the link in the
- 19:44description below.
- 19:46And now, a practical question. How do
- 19:49you tell the difference between waiting
- 19:51in faith and using faith as a reason to
- 19:53avoid responsibility? Here is how you
- 19:56tell the difference. Waiting in faith
- 19:58moves, hiding behind faith stays still.
- 20:02James 2:26,
- 20:03"For as the body without the spirit is
- 20:05dead, so faith without works is dead
- 20:08also." But before we talk about what
- 20:11faith does, we have to settle who is
- 20:13doing it. Because a frightened person
- 20:15and a conqueror can look at the same
- 20:17bills and take completely different
- 20:19steps.
- 20:22The heart of the message in the book
- 20:24Faith for Finances is this declaration.
- 20:27God is not poverty-stricken, and he does
- 20:30not produce poverty-stricken children.
- 20:33Hold on to that. Your father is not
- 20:35short of anything. Haggai 2:8, "The
- 20:39silver is mine, and the gold is mine,
- 20:41saith the Lord of hosts." Psalm 50:10,
- 20:45"For every beast of the forest is mine,
- 20:47and the cattle upon a thousand hills."
- 20:50That is the father you are praying to,
- 20:52not a god stretched thin, not a god
- 20:55waiting for the economy to improve, the
- 20:58owner of the silver and the gold. Psalm
- 21:0123:1,
- 21:02"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not
- 21:04want."
- 21:06And you are not a beggar at his gate.
- 21:08Romans 8:16 and 17. The spirit itself
- 21:13beareth witness with our spirit that we
- 21:15are the children of God. And if
- 21:17children, then heirs, heirs of God and
- 21:20joint heirs with Christ. Children, then
- 21:23heirs. You came into this family by
- 21:25birth, and sons do not live like
- 21:27strangers in their father's house. 2
- 21:29Corinthians 8:29. For ye know the grace
- 21:33of our Lord Jesus Christ that though he
- 21:35was rich, yet for your sakes he became
- 21:37poor that ye through his poverty might
- 21:40be rich. Jesus gave himself for your
- 21:42sakes so that you could share in his
- 21:45riches. Galatians 3:14. That the
- 21:48blessing of Abraham might come on the
- 21:50Gentiles through Jesus Christ. The
- 21:52blessing has come. It is not a distant
- 21:55hope. It is part of what redemption
- 21:57already placed in your hands.
- 22:00This is the revelation underneath the
- 22:02whole message. When you were born again,
- 22:05you were not born to be defeated. You
- 22:07were born to be a conqueror.
- 22:10Romans 8:37.
- 22:13Nay, in all these things we are more
- 22:15than conquerors through him that loved
- 22:17us. In all these things, including these
- 22:19bills, including this phone call,
- 22:22including this month.
- 22:24And the book gives three simple
- 22:26instructions to a conqueror. Think
- 22:28victory, not defeat. Speak triumphant
- 22:31words, not words of failure. And act
- 22:34like a conqueror because in Christ you
- 22:36are one. Think victory. Speak triumphant
- 22:40words. And now,
- 22:42act.
- 22:43Because here is what a conqueror does
- 22:45not do. He does not hide from the
- 22:47enemy's numbers. Proverbs 27:23.
- 22:51Be thou diligent to know the state of
- 22:53thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
- 22:56So, a conqueror sits down and writes
- 22:58down every debt, the balance, the
- 23:01interest, the minimum payment, the due
- 23:04date. Habakkuk 2:2, write the vision and
- 23:07make it plain. Fear grows in the dark,
- 23:10but a written figure has edges. He works
- 23:13out what is needed for food, shelter,
- 23:16and necessary things, and what can be
- 23:18paid toward the debts. Then he calls the
- 23:21people he owes and speaks honestly.
- 23:24Romans 12:17,
- 23:26provide things honest in the sight of
- 23:28all men. He does not promise what he
- 23:30cannot pay. He asks for an arrangement
- 23:33he can keep. He chooses a plan, pay the
- 23:36minimums, and put any extra toward the
- 23:38debt that costs the most, or clear the
- 23:40smallest balance first to build
- 23:43momentum. The best plan is the one he
- 23:45will actually follow.
- 23:47He does not borrow more in the name of
- 23:49faith without counting the cost. Luke
- 23:5114:28,
- 23:53for which of you, intending to build a
- 23:56tower, sitteth not down first and
- 23:59counteth the cost? And if the matter is
- 24:01serious, with legal threats or secured
- 24:04assets, he gets proper advice. Proverbs
- 24:0711:14, in the multitude of counselors
- 24:10there is safety. Notice that none of
- 24:13this is fear. Fear hides, fear delays,
- 24:16fear avoids the phone. Faith walks
- 24:19toward the problem because it knows who
- 24:21is walking with it. This is where
- 24:23confession and action meet. The book
- 24:26speaks about how confession leads to
- 24:29possession, and the words you speak must
- 24:31match the steps you take. So speak it
- 24:35and then do it. I have faith for
- 24:37finances for my family. My father is not
- 24:40poor. I am not defeated. I am more than
- 24:43a conqueror through Christ. I will face
- 24:45my figures, and I will not face them
- 24:47alone. Say it again tomorrow morning,
- 24:50and then pick up the pen. And if all of
- 24:52this feels like too much, do one thing
- 24:54today. Write down what you owe. That is
- 24:57a conqueror's first step.
- 25:00A conqueror also knows how to give and
- 25:02how to wait. That is where we go next. A
- 25:06conqueror also knows how to give. E
- 25:10And I want to say this carefully because
- 25:12giving is where many people get hurt.
- 25:14So, let us begin with the Father and not
- 25:17with the offering. John 3:16,
- 25:20"For God so loved the world that he gave
- 25:22his only begotten son." He gave first.
- 25:26Everything you are able to give flows
- 25:28from a father who gave first. Second
- 25:30Corinthians 9:7, "Every man according as
- 25:33he purposeth in his heart, so let him
- 25:36give, not grudgingly or of necessity,
- 25:38for God loveth a cheerful giver."
- 25:41Cheerful, not frightened, not cornered,
- 25:44not pressured. The Father who gave his
- 25:46own son does not need to frighten you
- 25:48into giving. So, if anyone has told you
- 25:50that the only way to receive a miracle
- 25:53is to give a particular amount to a
- 25:55particular person, or that your rent
- 25:57money must go into an offering, or that
- 25:59you should borrow in order to give, that
- 26:02is not the voice of your Father. Your
- 26:04giving is a seed, not a payment. God is
- 26:07not a machine that releases provision
- 26:09when the right amount goes in. He is a
- 26:11Father.
- 26:12And here is the revelation. Second
- 26:14Corinthians 9:10,
- 26:16"Now he that ministereth seed to the
- 26:18sower both minister bread for your food
- 26:20and multiply your seed sown." Look at
- 26:23that. The Father supplies the bread and
- 26:25the seed. Even your ability to give
- 26:27comes from him.
- 26:29Luke 6:38,
- 26:31"Give and it shall be given unto you.
- 26:33Good measure, pressed down and shaken
- 26:35together and running over." So, give
- 26:37willingly. Give wisely. Give from what
- 26:40you have in line with your convictions
- 26:42and your household's needs and let the
- 26:44Father who sees in secret be your
- 26:47supplier.
- 26:49Now, let us talk about waiting. Yet, you
- 26:51have prayed. You have started acting,
- 26:53you have called the creditor, you have
- 26:55sent the application, and the debt is
- 26:57still there. Mark 11:24, "Therefore, I
- 27:00say unto you, what things soever you
- 27:02desire, when you pray, believe that you
- 27:05receive them, and you shall have them."
- 27:07Believe that you receive. That is what
- 27:09the book means when it speaks about
- 27:11receiving, not pretending the debt is
- 27:13gone. Receiving in your spirit what the
- 27:16Father has promised, and then walking in
- 27:19the direction of it. Habakkuk 2:3, "For
- 27:23the vision is yet for an appointed time,
- 27:26but at the end it shall speak, and not
- 27:28lie. Though it tarry, wait for it,
- 27:30because it will surely come." Galatians
- 27:336:9, "Let us not be weary in well-doing,
- 27:36for in due season we shall reap, if we
- 27:39faint not." In due season, in his
- 27:41season, not the one we wrote on a
- 27:43calendar. Hebrews 6:12, "That you be not
- 27:46slothful, but followers of them who
- 27:48through faith and patience inherit the
- 27:51promises."
- 27:52Faith and patience together.
- 27:55Lamentations 3:22
- 27:58and 23, "It is of the Lord's mercies
- 28:01that we are not consumed, because his
- 28:03compassions fail not. They are new every
- 28:05morning." Psalm 37:5,
- 28:08"Commit thy way unto the Lord. Trust
- 28:11also in him, and he shall bring it to
- 28:13pass." He shall bring it to pass. He is
- 28:15interested in finishing what he began
- 28:18with you. Remember the widow. She poured
- 28:20behind a closed door before anyone saw a
- 28:23result. She did not wait to see the
- 28:26money to start pouring. Faith does the
- 28:29next thing in the quiet, and the harvest
- 28:31is seen afterwards. So, how does a
- 28:34conqueror wait? He keeps eating the
- 28:36word. Not only the evidence of his
- 28:39difficulty, he feeds on what the Father
- 28:41has said. He keeps speaking triumphant
- 28:44words. "I am working through this. My
- 28:46Father is with me. I will take the next
- 28:48step. He keeps acting. If he has agreed
- 28:51a repayment, he honors it. If an
- 28:53opportunity appears, he examines it. If
- 28:55a plan is not working, he adjusts. He
- 28:58stays teachable. There is no shame in
- 29:00learning and no shame in asking for help
- 29:03and he does not isolate himself. He
- 29:05finds a trustworthy person who can help
- 29:08him think clearly. Isaiah 40:31,
- 29:11but they that wait upon the Lord shall
- 29:13renew their strength. They shall mount
- 29:15up with wings as eagles. They shall run
- 29:18and not be weary and they shall walk and
- 29:20not faint.
- 29:22Waiting on the Lord does not drain you.
- 29:24It renews you. Say it with me. My father
- 29:27is not poor. I give with joy and I give
- 29:30with wisdom. I wait without fainting. I
- 29:33walk without shame. I am more than a
- 29:35conqueror in this season. Now, let us
- 29:38make this very concrete. If you are in
- 29:40debt, what can you do over the next 7
- 29:42days? Before we close, I want to tell
- 29:45you why this teaching has been shaped
- 29:47the way it has.
- 29:49I am not here to hand you a budget. We
- 29:51have touched on a few practical steps
- 29:53today and in part two of this teaching,
- 29:55we will walk through them carefully, one
- 29:57step at a time.
- 30:00But today, I want to anchor your trust
- 30:02in one place, in the God who is able to
- 30:05pull you out.
- 30:06Isaiah 59:1,
- 30:08"Behold, the Lord's hand is not
- 30:10shortened that it cannot save, neither
- 30:13his ear heavy that it cannot hear." His
- 30:15hand is not too short, not too short to
- 30:18reach your debt. His ear is not too
- 30:20heavy to hear your cry. Jeremiah 32:17,
- 30:24"Ah, Lord God, behold, thou hast made
- 30:26the heaven and the earth by thy great
- 30:28power and stretched out arm and there is
- 30:30nothing too hard for thee."
- 30:33Nothing too hard. Not the figure that
- 30:35frightens you. Not the creditor's
- 30:36deadline. Not the years you have carried
- 30:39it.
- 30:40Now, look at how the Bible describes the
- 30:42way he delivers. Psalm 18:16. He sent
- 30:45from above, he took me, he drew me out
- 30:47of many waters. He drew me out. Not a
- 30:50god standing on the bank watching you
- 30:52swim. A god who sends, who takes, who
- 30:55draws out. And verse 19, he brought me
- 30:59forth also into a large place. He
- 31:01delivered me because he delighted in me.
- 31:04Because he delighted in me. You are not
- 31:06a burden to him. You are his child.
- 31:09Psalm 42.
- 31:11He brought me up also out of an horrible
- 31:14pit, out of the miry clay, and set my
- 31:17feet upon a rock and established my
- 31:19goings. Out of the pit, out of the clay,
- 31:23onto a rock, and then established my
- 31:25goings. He does not only lift you out,
- 31:28he studies your feet so that you can
- 31:30walk.
- 31:31Psalm 34:19.
- 31:34Many are the afflictions of the
- 31:35righteous, but the Lord delivereth him
- 31:38out of them all. Out of them all.
- 31:40Remember the widow. Her creditor stood
- 31:43at the door. She had a pot of oil and a
- 31:46prophet's word. And the god who heard
- 31:48her cry did not only clear her debt, he
- 31:51gave her a way to live from the rest.
- 31:54That same god is your father. And the
- 31:56book we have drawn from says it plainly,
- 31:59god is not poverty-stricken and he does
- 32:01not produce poverty-stricken children.
- 32:04Second Corinthians 9:8. And god is able
- 32:07to make all grace abound toward you,
- 32:09that ye always having all sufficiency in
- 32:12all things may abound to every good
- 32:15work.
- 32:16God is able. Say it. God is able.
- 32:18Ephesians 3:20. Now unto him that is
- 32:22able to do exceedingly abundantly above
- 32:24all that we ask or think. Above all that
- 32:27we ask. Above all that we think. Perhaps
- 32:29you can only imagine one way out. He is
- 32:32able to open doors you have not yet
- 32:35imagined. When King Jehoshaphat faced an
- 32:37army he could not defeat, he prayed.
- 32:40Second Chronicles 20:12, "We have no
- 32:43might, neither know we what to do, but
- 32:45our eyes are upon thee."
- 32:48And the answer came, verse 15, "Be not
- 32:50afraid nor dismayed, for the battle is
- 32:53not yours, but God's." You may not know
- 32:55what to do tonight, that is allowed, but
- 32:57where do your eyes rest? Not on the
- 32:59figures, on him. Isaiah 43:2, "When thou
- 33:02passest through the waters, I will be
- 33:04with thee, and through the rivers they
- 33:06shall not overflow thee." He is with you
- 33:08in the water, and the river will not
- 33:10overflow you.
- 33:12Psalm 46:1,
- 33:14"God is our refuge and strength, a very
- 33:16present help in trouble." Present, not
- 33:19distant. Abraham did not have a way, he
- 33:22had a promise. Romans 4:20 and 21, "He
- 33:25staggered not at the promise of God
- 33:27through unbelief, but was strong in
- 33:29faith, giving glory to God, and being
- 33:32fully persuaded that what he had
- 33:33promised, he was able also to perform."
- 33:37Fully persuaded, that is the place we
- 33:39are going. Not hoping God might,
- 33:42persuaded that he is able. So, do one
- 33:45thing tonight, do not calculate again.
- 33:47Stop and thank him. Thank him that he is
- 33:50your father. Thank him that he is not
- 33:52poor. Thank him that he is able, and let
- 33:55his peace settle where the fear has been
- 33:57sitting. Let us pray. Father, in the
- 34:00name of Jesus Christ, we come to you as
- 34:02your children. You are not poor. Nothing
- 34:04is too hard for you. Your hand is not
- 34:07shortened, and your ear is open to every
- 34:09cry.
- 34:11For everyone listening who is carrying
- 34:13debt tonight, be their helper. Draw them
- 34:15out of the deep waters. Set their feet
- 34:17on a rock. Open doors they have not
- 34:20imagined. Give them your wisdom, your
- 34:22peace, and your strength to stand. Let
- 34:25them know that you are interested in
- 34:27bringing them out. We put our trust in
- 34:30you, not in the figures, not in our own
- 34:33strength, in you, in the name of Jesus
- 34:35Christ. Amen. If this has strengthened
- 34:38your trust in God, write this in the
- 34:41comments. I will walk in faith, wisdom,
- 34:44and godly financial discipline. Share it
- 34:47with someone who is carrying this
- 34:48weight, and subscribe to E.W. Kenyon
- 34:51Revelations for more teaching on the
- 34:54word of God, faith, and the believer's
- 34:56life in Christ, and watch for part two,
- 34:59where we walk through the practical
- 35:01steps together.
