  1. 0:00Alna the Frozen Mother has officially arrived in AFK Journey and she is set to completely
  2. 0:06warp the frontline meta around her.
  3. 0:09Unlike traditional tanks that rely on high HP, shields or even taunts to tank up for
  4. 0:14the team, Alna wins through her invulnerability buff as well as global haste manipulation
  5. 0:21to tank up for the team.
  6. 0:22In today's video, we are going to break down her kit as well as discuss about her strengths
  7. 0:27in the different game modes for AFK Journey.
  8. 0:29Now, it is important to note that Alna is a relatively defensive unit, so her job is
  9. 0:36meant to be defensive by nature, buffing up the Winter Warrior, providing the frontlining
  10. 0:41power for the team as well as debuffing the haste of the enemies.
  11. 0:46So she is not able to offer a great damage boost for bossing contents such as Dream Realm,
  12. 0:52Ravage Realm as well as your Primal Lords.
  13. 0:54She is more skilled towards AFK stage pushing as well as PvP in general.
  14. 1:00So that's the expectation that we have to set for her in terms of her best utility purpose.
  15. 1:05With that in mind, let's move on to the mechanics for Alna.
  16. 1:08Starting off with her ultimate, Winter Anthem, she has a passive effect as well as an active
  17. 1:14effect.
  18. 1:14The passive effect allows you to reduce the haste and attack range of all characters
  19. 1:20on the battlefield.
  20. 1:21This could be used in tandem with melee teams so that you reduce the efficiency of your
  21. 1:26opponent's ranged team while reducing the overall haste to slow down the pacing of battle
  22. 1:32so that your units can survive better.
  23. 1:34On top of that, there's an active portion where she summons a Blizzard dealing massive
  24. 1:38damage while offering heals for the Winter Warrior as well as Alna for them to soak
  25. 1:44up more damage on the frontline.
  26. 1:46Her next skill, Shared Resolve, is a buff as well as a damage build into the kit.
  27. 1:51The buff portion allows you to select an ally and turn them into the Winter Warrior
  28. 1:56which allows them to be immune to the haste reduction effect of the ultimate.
  29. 2:00At the same time, the max HP of the Winter Warrior is also permanently increased throughout
  30. 2:06the battle, increasing their survivability and the active portion allows her to thrust
  31. 2:11her spear to deal additional damage while healing herself and the Winter Warrior.
  32. 2:16And Alna is also able to do a little bit of AOE damage with her third ability, Wild Whirl,
  33. 2:21while applying a haste reduction to the affected enemies in the process.
  34. 2:25Now moving on to the most important part of the kit, the EX Weapon ability, Chilling Presence,
  35. 2:31allows Alna to envelop herself in icy wind to be immune to damage as well as control
  36. 2:38effect periodically during the battle itself.
  37. 2:41After casting this ability, she also grants the Winter Warrior the same immunity effect
  38. 2:46which greatly increases the survival of the Winter Warrior as well as Alna in battle because
  39. 2:52they are immune to damage and immune to CC effects by the enemies as well.
  40. 2:58As mentioned earlier, since Alna has the global ability to reduce the haste and attack range
  41. 3:04of all units on the battlefield except for herself and the Winter Warrior, it would be
  42. 3:09much better to use Alna with melee teams in order to mitigate the debuff from the passive
  43. 3:15portion of the ultimate.
  44. 3:16However, because the Winter Warrior will be immune to the debuff of all these units, you
  45. 3:22can actually put Alna with your ranged hypercarries in order to give them the HP buff so that
  46. 3:28they survive better while preventing them from getting the attack range and haste debuff
  47. 3:33from the passive effect of Winter Anthem.
  48. 3:35However, based off my personal observation, what I believe the best team of Alna should
  49. 3:41be for the AFK stage pushing portion would be one which consists of Alna together with
  50. 3:46Baelran, Mehira and Saida plus one more utility unit in the team.
  51. 3:51So the role of Baelran in the team is to be the frontliner as well as the Winter Warrior
  52. 3:57and the late game DPS for the overall damage push in general because Baelran is able to
  53. 4:03benefit from the damage immunity as well as control immunity for him to build up his Celestial
  54. 4:09form for the damage side and he is able to frontline with a lot of inbuilt HP on top
  55. 4:15of the healing as well as the max HP boost that the Winter Warrior buff is able to provide
  56. 4:20him with.
  57. 4:21On top of that, we even have Saida which can be used as a control unit for the team as
  58. 4:26well as the Winter Warrior as well because she is able to do a lot of damage if she
  59. 4:31is able to cast the ultimate multiple times offering AOE control if you are able to cast
  60. 4:37the ultimate at least 4 times in battle.
  61. 4:39Lastly, we are including Mehira in the team so that Mehira is able to offer that control
  62. 4:44at the start of battle as well as the continuous charm to provide AOE control for the whole
  63. 4:50team moving forward.
  64. 4:51Another more budget-friendly hyper carry option that you can run with Alna would be Faramor
  65. 4:55as Faramor is a unit that is able to do a lot of damage provided he is able to stand
  66. 5:01on the battlefield.
  67. 5:02This is where Alna comes in to provide the survival as well as the control immunity for
  68. 5:07Faramor to stand on the battlefield, get his ultimate going, prevent the heal of the enemy
  69. 5:12and do a lot of true damage in the process.
  70. 5:14Other than the above mentioned units as well as team composition, we are going to talk about
  71. 5:18some other utility characters that you can use with Alna to make your team more well-rounded.
  72. 5:24So first of all, we have Velara.
  73. 5:26So Velara has the ability to debuff the enemy, heal your team as well as buff up the stats
  74. 5:32of your team with her stat-stealing ultimate.
  75. 5:35And for the melee team specifically, Zandrok is an amazing buffer with the initial haze
  76. 5:40buff as well as max HP buff to increase the survival as well as damage output for
  77. 5:45melee teams in general.
  78. 5:46Other good AFK stage units together with the melee tech would be the likes of Tilaya which
  79. 5:52is able to tank up on the frontline while buffing the defensive capabilities of your
  80. 5:56allies with the EX weapon as well as Thador and Eironn which are both really amazing AFK
  81. 6:02stage pushing units while offering amazing frontlining power or control for the team.
  82. 6:07For the PVP side, the Saida-Alna combo is disgustingly good because Alna is able to
  83. 6:14provide the Winter Warrior buff for Saida and Saida as a unit that is able to come back
  84. 6:19to life, do a lot of damage, control at the same time, benefits from the Winter Warrior
  85. 6:24buff with increased HP as well as the ability to survive until she gets multiple ultimates
  86. 6:30off which is what Saida wants to achieve in battle.
  87. 6:34So this is where this combo of Saida together with Alna is insanely good.
  88. 6:38And you can further complement the team with the likes of Athalia for even more undying
  89. 6:42power because Athalia is a unit that does a lot of damage and even does damage after
  90. 6:47she falls in battle.
  91. 6:48We also have the likes of Zandrok which offers that initial push in damage while giving more
  92. 6:54HP to all the units in the battle so really good stuff for many teams in general.
  93. 6:58You can also throw in the likes of Balron for even more damage or late game scaling.
  94. 7:03The likes of Damien to complete the Undying Immortal team which is really annoying to
  95. 7:07deal with because Damien can actually heal up the allies even if they are in the invulnerable
  96. 7:13state.
  97. 7:13So with this, Alna plus Saida combo is really powerful and you can further complement the
  98. 7:18team with other existing OP arena units to boister your arena defense or offense.
  99. 7:24You could also simply use Alna as well as the Winter Warrior as frontline units to buy
  100. 7:29time for other damage sources like the likes of Shemira or even your damage over time teams
  101. 7:35to build up damage and then bring down the opponent from there.
  102. 7:38In conclusion, Alna is a really flexible character which excels for your AFK stages as well as
  103. 7:45the PVP game modes.
  104. 7:46So she is able to counter ranged teams by reducing the range of ranged enemies to reduce
  105. 7:51their survival and also their offensive prowess.
  106. 7:55You are able to fit Alna into multiple team archetypes and she will be able to fulfill
  107. 7:59her role to tank up for the team and buff up your Winter Warrior.
  108. 8:03And that's it for this video.
  109. 8:04Thank you very much for tuning in and I will see you guys again in the next Journey to
  110. 8:08Grandmasters video.
  111. 8:10Bye guys!
