  1. 0:00I used to think YouTube shorts was all
  2. 0:02luck but after posting over 150 YouTube
  3. 0:04shorts across three different channels
  4. 0:06I'm now earning two thousand dollars a
  5. 0:08month from one channel and I can now
  6. 0:10confirm there's no luck to YouTube
  7. 0:12shorts here's a guide on how to make
  8. 0:14viral shorts so you can start seeing
  9. 0:16similar results step one create a
  10. 0:18YouTube channel about something you're
  11. 0:19interested in so we can upload shorts
  12. 0:21and there are two types of short
  13. 0:23channels you can create one that
  14. 0:24repurposes content and one that uploads
  15. 0:26original content that you create
  16. 0:28yourself my channel is the repurposed
  17. 0:30type and I also recommend you take a
  18. 0:31similar approach if you want to make
  19. 0:33money as fast as possible this is
  20. 0:35because you have an infinite amount of
  21. 0:36content and you don't need any skills or
  22. 0:38talent to be successful you literally
  23. 0:41only need to know how to use video
  24. 0:42editing software which I'll explain how
  25. 0:44to use Ladle Step 2 to have the highest
  26. 0:47chances of going viral within your first
  27. 0:49five shorts I recommend you search your
  28. 0:51Niche and view what's already working
  29. 0:53for inspiration because what's working
  30. 0:55for other channels will likely work for
  31. 0:57yours when I started my channel I posted
  32. 0:596 shorts around topics I thought would
  33. 1:01go viral they didn't go viral and then I
  34. 1:04decided to take inspiration from what's
  35. 1:06already working this decision caused my
  36. 1:08channel to get its first viral short
  37. 1:09only on the seventh upload to the
  38. 1:11channel and I didn't realize until I had
  39. 1:13posted another 39 shorts to my channel
  40. 1:15that there was something different about
  41. 1:17this short that made it go viral the
  42. 1:19difference between this short and all
  43. 1:21the other shorts on my channel was that
  44. 1:23it had higher attention and retention is
  45. 1:25the most important YouTube metric behind
  46. 1:27any short going viral on YouTube I
  47. 1:29identified two techniques that I
  48. 1:31accidentally applied to the short to
  49. 1:33make it have higher attention and ever
  50. 1:34since learning these techniques they
  51. 1:36have been responsible for all of the
  52. 1:38viral shorts on my channel continue
  53. 1:39watching to see how to apply these
  54. 1:41techniques when you create your first
  55. 1:42short step 3 Source Clips to use within
  56. 1:45your first short I have sourced every
  57. 1:47clip I've ever used in all my shorts
  58. 1:49from YouTube and using the trending
  59. 1:51topics you found in Step 2 search for
  60. 1:53that topic on YouTube to find Clips
  61. 1:55since my channel is in the football
  62. 1:57Niche I will search Neymar funny moments
  63. 1:59and and I'll select this shot here
  64. 2:01because I can immediately see that it
  65. 2:03already has high engagement and since I
  66. 2:05want to use this clip within my short we
  67. 2:07need to download it by finding the
  68. 2:09original video that the clip is from you
  69. 2:11should always find the original video
  70. 2:12because the quality will be much higher
  71. 2:14and there won't be any watermarks and in
  72. 2:16general we just don't want to be
  73. 2:18downloading other people's shorts and
  74. 2:19uploading them as our own for my channel
  75. 2:21I can see every re-uploaded short of
  76. 2:23mine and YouTube Shadow bands this
  77. 2:25content but to find the original clip
  78. 2:27you will want to describe exactly what
  79. 2:29the clip is about in the search bar it's
  80. 2:31easy to find the original clip using
  81. 2:33this method but sometimes a clip E1 is
  82. 2:36within a large video and since we found
  83. 2:38it we will copy the URL and head to
  84. 2:40Google and search for a free YouTube
  85. 2:42video downloader most of the shorts on
  86. 2:44my channel compilation so I repeat this
  87. 2:46for multiple clips step 4 if you want to
  88. 2:48make money from the clips you downloaded
  89. 2:50you have to make sure you're adding some
  90. 2:52type of edit and to prove you can make
  91. 2:53money from this we can look at the
  92. 2:55YouTube monetization rules for reused
  93. 2:57content where if you edit your shorts
  94. 2:59you'll meet the super approved criteria
  95. 3:00of making a funny or thoughtful vision
  96. 3:02of content you didn't originally create
  97. 3:04and if your content doesn't fall with
  98. 3:06any of these don'ts you will be making
  99. 3:07money from YouTube shorts step five it's
  100. 3:10now time to edit your short and I'll be
  101. 3:12using Adobe Premiere Pro but you can
  102. 3:14follow along using any other type of
  103. 3:16video editing software since almost all
  104. 3:18have a timeline feature and before we
  105. 3:19start doing edits to increase retention
  106. 3:21we first need to get our edit ready to
  107. 3:24start use a frame size of 1080 in the
  108. 3:26horizontal and 1920 in the vertical you
  109. 3:28will have to Google how to change your
  110. 3:30frame size depending on what type of
  111. 3:31software you're using but next I will
  112. 3:34drag in the downloader clips into the
  113. 3:36timeline and I will delete the original
  114. 3:37sound because for my content the sound
  115. 3:40adds no value it's usually just some
  116. 3:42boring background noises if you're doing
  117. 3:44some type of content that the audio adds
  118. 3:46value of course you'll have to keep it
  119. 3:48in and since my clip is within a large
  120. 3:50video we'll have to use the cutting tool
  121. 3:52to cut the clip at the exact moment we
  122. 3:54want to use and I'll delete the leftover
  123. 3:57clips and repeat this for all of my
  124. 3:58Clips because as I I mentioned I'm
  125. 4:00creating a completion and we don't want
  126. 4:02to show these black borders so we'll
  127. 4:04increase the scale of the video and then
  128. 4:06reposition it so it's centered within
  129. 4:08the frame step six aim to achieve higher
  130. 4:10retention because as I mentioned
  131. 4:12retention is the key metric behind any
  132. 4:14short going viral the second technique I
  133. 4:17learned from studying my first viral
  134. 4:18short was that within the first second I
  135. 4:20already had one text edit one
  136. 4:22highlighted Circle and two sounds these
  137. 4:24types of edits appeared every two
  138. 4:25seconds throughout the entire short to
  139. 4:27keep the viewer engaged both visually
  140. 4:29and auditory and now we will apply this
  141. 4:31technique by adding our first edit just
  142. 4:34after the short starts because we want
  143. 4:35change to occur within the first instant
  144. 4:37this will stop viewers continuing to
  145. 4:40scroll on their feed and they'll
  146. 4:41actually watch out short and at this
  147. 4:43point I will drag in a graphic such as a
  148. 4:45laughing emoji and place it above
  149. 4:47Neymar's head because for this context
  150. 4:49Neymar is mocking the reporter and it's
  151. 4:52funny I will drag in and align a pop
  152. 4:54sound effect as soon as the graphic
  153. 4:56appears on the screen again we are
  154. 4:58creating both a visual and auditory
  155. 5:00change constantly I do recommend you
  156. 5:02create a folder full of sound effects
  157. 5:04and Graphics because you'll be
  158. 5:06constantly adding these throughout your
  159. 5:07entire short now back to the edit I will
  160. 5:09add some more Graphics such as an arrow
  161. 5:11and text to really highlight the video
  162. 5:13topic which is Neymar now I will repeat
  163. 5:16this step where I add frequent edits
  164. 5:18every two seconds while ensuring that
  165. 5:19each graphic has a paired sound effect
  166. 5:21and I will make sure I don't use the
  167. 5:23same type of graphic every single edit
  168. 5:25because you want to feed the viewer with
  169. 5:27new content as a side note you should be
  170. 5:29adding these frequent edits to any Niche
  171. 5:31but adjust them to suit the style of
  172. 5:33Niche for example if you're creating
  173. 5:35motivational shorts you shouldn't be
  174. 5:36adding laughing emojis because that's
  175. 5:38just not the style I know of so many
  176. 5:41different short channels that apply
  177. 5:42these same Concepts but just adjust them
  178. 5:44to suit their Niche and as you could
  179. 5:46expect it is making their shorts go
  180. 5:48viral step 6 and trending music to your
  181. 5:51short you can still monetize your shorts
  182. 5:52even if you use copyrighted music and a
  183. 5:54lot of people get confused about this
  184. 5:56because after you upload a show with
  185. 5:58copyrighted music you will see a
  186. 5:59copyright restriction in your YouTube
  187. 6:01Studio but if you roll over the
  188. 6:03copyright restriction you will see it
  189. 6:04reads copyright protected content found
  190. 6:06but it doesn't affect your short also
  191. 6:08you can see my channel has monetization
  192. 6:10on for all of my shorts regardless of it
  193. 6:12having a copyright restriction or not
  194. 6:14step 7 export the short in the highest
  195. 6:17quality possible and then upload it to
  196. 6:19your channel and your views will
  197. 6:20probably explode for the first hour and
  198. 6:23then they'll Flatline this is something
  199. 6:25that's so discouraging about starting a
  200. 6:27new YouTube shorts Channel and something
  201. 6:29that doesn't make sense at all for
  202. 6:31example my first viral Shore received
  203. 6:337000 views within the first 25 minutes
  204. 6:36and then it proceeded to Flatline over a
  205. 6:3824-hour period but if we change the time
  206. 6:40period to Lifetime you can see that the
  207. 6:43short didn't go viral for two days no
  208. 6:45one can actually prove why this happens
  209. 6:46to shorts but I think it's YouTube's way
  210. 6:48of testing your short to a small group
  211. 6:50of viewers to see if it's a good video
  212. 6:52and you need to understand one thing
  213. 6:54about YouTube shorts is that it's a fair
  214. 6:56game where if you create a good video
  215. 6:58that has high retention it will all go
  216. 7:00viral now let's look at the analytics I
  217. 7:02uploaded the shorts six days ago when I
  218. 7:04Was preparing for this video and you can
  219. 7:06see the show has reached over 200 000
  220. 7:08views in the last seven days these
  221. 7:10numbers are typical for a Channel of my
  222. 7:12size as I do have over 250 000
  223. 7:14subscribers and I'm expecting to make
  224. 7:16sure to still go viral because if we
  225. 7:18take a look at my channel and click on
  226. 7:20any of my viral shorts you will see each
  227. 7:22of them don't get pushed into the
  228. 7:24algorithm for anywhere between 7 to 21
  229. 7:26days you should also expect a similar
  230. 7:29time period for any of your shorts to go
  231. 7:31viral as I've only had one short on my
  232. 7:33channel go viral within a 24-hour period
  233. 7:35and here's the rest of my short
  234. 7:37analytics if you're interested in any of
  235. 7:39this information just pause the video
  236. 7:40and that's all you need to know about
  237. 7:42how to create a viral short it's
  238. 7:44obviously not as easy just watching this
  239. 7:46video and then going to do it yourself
  240. 7:47it will take time to get good at editing
  241. 7:49and actually learn how to create a good
  242. 7:51short in my next video I'm going to try
  243. 7:53YouTube Automation and we're going to
  244. 7:54turn a YouTube channel into a business
  245. 7:56where we do none of the work
