  1. 0:00hi everyone in this video I'm going to
  2. 0:03show how to make an iot based digital
  3. 0:05weight meter using an hx711 weight
  4. 0:08sensor and a 5 kg load cell here I have
  5. 0:11used the blink app to display the weight
  6. 0:13of objects
  7. 0:34if you are new to this channel then
  8. 0:35please subscribe and turn on the Bell
  9. 0:37button to get the notification of my new
  10. 0:40videos here we need an hx711 weight
  11. 0:43sensor and a 5 kg load
  12. 0:46cell I've set the sensor like
  13. 0:56this then we need an ESP 32 as
  14. 1:00microcontroller and a
  15. 1:03breadboard first placing the ESP 32 on
  16. 1:06the
  17. 1:12breadboard then placing the HX 711
  18. 1:15weight sensor on the
  19. 1:23breadboard connecting the 3.3 volt pin
  20. 1:27of esp32 with the breadboard Positive
  21. 1:29terminal
  22. 1:31and the ground of the esp32 with the
  23. 1:34breadboard negative
  24. 1:40terminal connect the ground pin of the
  25. 1:43weight sensor with the breadboard
  26. 1:44negative
  27. 1:46terminal and connect the VCC of the
  28. 1:48weight sensor with the breadboard
  29. 1:50Positive terminal
  30. 2:01then connect the DI pin of the weight
  31. 2:03sensor with the gpio 23 pin of
  32. 2:11esp32 an sck pinof the weight sensor
  33. 2:14with the gp19 pin of
  34. 2:26esp32 then attach a PVC board like this
  35. 2:29on the load cell to place objects for
  36. 2:31measuring
  37. 2:43weight the hardware setup is
  38. 2:51done let's set up the blink dashboard go
  39. 2:54to the blink website
  40. 3:00if you don't have an account on blink
  41. 3:02you need to create one first need to
  42. 3:04create a
  43. 3:18template then create a new virtual pin
  44. 3:21data stream in this template
  45. 3:48then create a web dashboard with a gauge
  46. 4:10then create a device using the template
  47. 4:12I've
  48. 4:15generated then we will get the template
  49. 4:17Name ID and authentication token which
  50. 4:21will be required in the main code now
  51. 4:23let's set up the mobile dashboard in the
  52. 4:25blink app
  53. 4:28[Music]
  54. 4:43[Music]
  55. 5:04now coming in the coding part go to my
  56. 5:07GitHub and copy the
  57. 5:18code open Arduino ID
  58. 5:27software then paste the code here
  59. 5:33this defines the blink template ID name
  60. 5:36an authentication ID that Associates
  61. 5:38this project with a predefined iob
  62. 5:40template on the blink
  63. 5:44platform includes the Wi-Fi library for
  64. 5:47esp32 to connect to a Wi-Fi network used
  65. 5:51for establishing client connections over
  66. 5:53Wi-Fi allows the esp32 to interact with
  67. 5:56the blink iot platform includes the h HX
  68. 5:59711 library for interfacing with the
  69. 6:02hx711 load cell amplifier used for
  70. 6:05weight measurements I've attached this
  71. 6:07Library file to my GitHub account
  72. 6:10creates an hx711 object associating it
  73. 6:13with two pins de out and
  74. 6:17clock enables debugging output via the
  75. 6:20serial monitor any blink related debug
  76. 6:22information will be printed here stores
  77. 6:25the Wi-Fi SSID which is your Wi-Fi
  78. 6:27network name stores the Wi-Fi password
  79. 6:31variable to store the weight measurement
  80. 6:34calibration factor for accurate weight
  81. 6:36readings this needs adjustment based on
  82. 6:38the load cell and hardware setup place
  83. 6:41any object of known value then adjust
  84. 6:43the calibration Factor until it shows
  85. 6:45the exact value of the object here I
  86. 6:48have taken a stone which is 50 g so I
  87. 6:51have adjusted the calibration Factor
  88. 6:53until the scale shows its real value in
  89. 6:56my case it's 2110
  90. 7:00in the void setup function sets the
  91. 7:02scale to its default calibration resets
  92. 7:05the scale to
  93. 7:09zero reads the zero Factor useful for
  94. 7:15fine-tuning in the void Loop function
  95. 7:17blink communication is handled then it
  96. 7:20calls the measures weight function to
  97. 7:22measure and display weight in the
  98. 7:24measure weight function adjusts the
  99. 7:26calibration for accurate readings
  100. 7:32measures weight by averaging five
  101. 7:36readings negative weight values are
  102. 7:38corrected to
  103. 7:43zero sends the weight value to the blink
  104. 7:45app on Virtual pin
  105. 7:50b0 now select the proper board and
  106. 7:52upload the code
  107. 8:39now providing power in the esp32 from
  108. 8:42the power
  109. 8:49bank then open the blink app it displays
  110. 8:52the weight of the object in
  111. 8:58kilog here here I've taken a stone for
  112. 9:01calibration I've measured the weight of
  113. 9:03the stone before it was 50 g so let's
  114. 9:07the weight of the stone on the scale
  115. 9:09it's 48 G almost similar so the weight
  116. 9:13scale is working
  117. 9:17properly let's measure the weight of
  118. 9:20other
  119. 9:28objects e
