Full transcript
- 0:00Hello my creator friend. And now I'm
- 0:02going to show you another cool feature
- 0:03of True Depth add-on which was updated
- 0:06recently to version 3, which is
- 0:08absolutely fantastic by the way and I
- 0:10highly recommend you guys checking it
- 0:11out. Uh so, this feature is this make
- 0:14seamless feature. So, let me briefly
- 0:17show you what it does. So, what you
- 0:19basically see here it's uh not a one
- 0:21piece actually that was converted into a
- 0:23mesh into 3D geometry or 3D relief. It's
- 0:26actually a series of
- 0:29uh meshes that was done uh
- 0:32with this uh add-on.
- 0:34Uh you can check this. You see, these
- 0:37are actually six
- 0:39different meshes.
- 0:41Uh the the problem is that if you will
- 0:42generate it right off the box and try
- 0:44to, you know, place it side by side, it
- 0:47will not work. So, you will see the the
- 0:49seam which, you know, comes from various
- 0:52reasons. We will not go too deep into
- 0:53that, but it will it will be uh with the
- 0:56seams.
- 0:57And let me quickly show you
- 0:59uh what you can do or how this feature
- 1:01actually is working uh this make
- 1:03seamless feature, uh which will help you
- 1:05create your pieces to be seamless so so
- 1:08that you can position them side by side
- 1:10and create like really big big walls of,
- 1:13you know, this kind of tiled uh textures
- 1:16or actually uh tiled meshes, right?
- 1:19So,
- 1:20let me start a new new file here like
- 1:23this.
- 1:25Side panel True Depth. I'm in GPU mode.
- 1:27I'm in large mode which gives the most
- 1:30precise uh results. And here I'm uh
- 1:34clicking on open. I have this neat
- 1:36folder with various images here. And
- 1:39this is my uh
- 1:40a tileable or seamless texture. I mean,
- 1:43I know that it's tileable. So, if I will
- 1:46check it here,
- 1:47let me actually show it to you really
- 1:49quick. So, this is the texture and if I
- 1:52will
- 1:54position it like this, you see that it's
- 1:56absolutely uh tileable.
- 1:59You see, both in vertical and horizontal
- 2:01direction. So, I'm not I'm sure that
- 2:03it's tileable.
- 2:05So, now I will
- 2:08Oh, by mistake I loaded here into the
- 2:11depth slot.
- 2:13Don't do that.
- 2:14You have to open the original image here
- 2:18in this
- 2:19in this portion of the in this tab.
- 2:21Select image for depth generation. So,
- 2:24here, here, and go here, and then I will
- 2:27quickly generate a depth map.
- 2:29And here you go. And I can just quickly
- 2:32create a mesh, and boom, you have it.
- 2:34Cool.
- 2:35Now I will quickly address this
- 2:37slopiness because in my in my case I
- 2:40want to make keep it straight, so it's
- 2:42tileable even in vertical direction. So,
- 2:44that's why you have this beautiful
- 2:46feature here uh
- 2:48tilt correction.
- 2:51Like this.
- 2:53So, I will
- 2:54uh up it to one.
- 2:56So, I will update the generate I will
- 2:58update the depth map. So, now it's much
- 3:02more straight.
- 3:03And then I will up the resolution of it.
- 3:06Nice. And then I will decrease the
- 3:09extrusion a little bit a little bit like
- 3:10this.
- 3:12Fantastic.
- 3:13And now check this out. If I will just
- 3:17right out of the box, if I will try to
- 3:20place it side by side like this.
- 3:25And don't mind the the the the speed of
- 3:28of interaction while I I was dragging it
- 3:30like when I was dragging the copy
- 3:33because now it has really a lot
- 3:35modifiers, right?
- 3:38So, to in order to optimize you can
- 3:40always uh
- 3:42just, you know, convert it to mesh.
- 3:45So, let me enable the word.
- 3:50I will snap it roughly here.
- 3:53Nice.
- 3:54So, you see we have a seam here. It's
- 3:57very very visible and it's not nice at
- 3:59all. So, that's exactly where this
- 4:02feature is shining. So, select uh the
- 4:04original mesh
- 4:06and then let's go to uh this portion of
- 4:09uh
- 4:10UI and let's click make seamless. And it
- 4:13will think for a while and boom, now we
- 4:15have
- 4:16perfect um seamless meshes. How cool is
- 4:20that?
- 4:22All right?
- 4:23And now you're free to convert it to
- 4:25mesh
- 4:27like this.
- 4:30And you can even
- 4:33Let's place it here.
- 4:37Like that.
- 4:39So, roughly
- 4:41so that you get the point.
- 4:43All right. So, as you can see, thanks to
- 4:44this neat little feature,
- 4:46um you will be able to extend your
- 4:48meshes making them uh seamless and
- 4:51easily tileable between each other. And
- 4:53I was really happy developer added this
- 4:55feature as making depth maps seamless is
- 4:58a very handy feature uh on its own.
- 5:00So, if for any reason you haven't heard
- 5:02of True Depth add-on and its absolutely
- 5:05fantastic powerfuls, do check my earlier
- 5:08video where I review [music] its latest
- 5:10V3 update and you will be good to go
- 5:12creating stunning things in a couple of
- 5:14clicks. See you there.
