- 0:00You want to know what your problem is?
- 0:01You show up for everything except for
- 0:03the things that you want for yourself.
- 0:04[music] And now, after giving all of
- 0:06your time and attention to everyone
- 0:07else, you're fed up with your life
- 0:09because you're still not becoming the
- 0:11woman that you desire to be. But because
- 0:13you clicked on this video, I know that
- 0:14you're tired of feeling disappointed and
- 0:16you're ready to finally lock in. And in
- 0:18today's video, we're going to talk about
- 0:19how to do exactly that in order to
- 0:21change your life and step into your best
- 0:24era yet, even if that means going ghost
- 0:26for a [music] while. But first, hey,
- 0:27hello. Welcome or welcome back to the
- 0:29channel. If you're new here, my name is
- 0:30Charerelle and on this channel, we're
- 0:32all about personal development with a
- 0:34sprinkle of personal brand [music]
- 0:35building. So, take a second to subscribe
- 0:37to the channel and let's get straight
- 0:38into the video. Sometimes it is easier
- 0:40to figure out who you want to become by
- 0:42getting clear about who it is that you
- 0:44refuse to become. And normally people
- 0:46will tell you to think of a role model
- 0:48or someone you look up to. I want you to
- 0:50do the complete opposite. So, in
- 0:51psychology, this is known as the feared
- 0:53possible self. And this is a deeply
- 0:55unwanted version of who you are
- 0:57terrified you might secretly be or
- 0:59become. So to do this, think of the kind
- 1:01of woman that you know you absolutely
- 1:03want to be nothing like. And this can be
- 1:04a collection of women, no shade, no tea,
- 1:06but it can be women that you've seen on
- 1:08reality TV, someone that you know in
- 1:10real life, or even the past versions of
- 1:12yourself that you know you've outgrown.
- 1:14We're going to call her your antiself.
- 1:16So maybe she's someone who's always
- 1:17caught up in drama. She's always falling
- 1:19out with people. She makes excuses. or
- 1:21she just lets her emotions make every
- 1:23decision for her. What I want you to do
- 1:24is write down her habits, her mindset,
- 1:26and her behavior. And then next to each
- 1:28of those traits, write down what the
- 1:30woman that you want to become would do
- 1:31instead. This is going to be your new
- 1:33era list. It will serve as a clear
- 1:35reminder of the changes that you're
- 1:36making in this season. Next, I want you
- 1:38to look at your list and think about the
- 1:40choices that you're making today. You
- 1:42may want to learn more, but you spend a
- 1:43lot of hours scrolling and you never
- 1:45even pick up a book. That's where your
- 1:46habits need to change. So, your
- 1:48anti-self is the woman who's going to
- 1:50just keep scrolling. But the woman that
- 1:51you're becoming, she's the woman who's
- 1:53going to put the phone down and pick up
- 1:54a book. So for each gap between your
- 1:56future self and your current self, I
- 1:58want you to write down one thing that
- 2:00you're going to do differently. The goal
- 2:01for this is not to completely change
- 2:03overnight. Over time, those better
- 2:05choices become better habits. And those
- 2:07better habits is what's going to change
- 2:08your life. Normally going goals means
- 2:10like pulling back from social media,
- 2:12going out less, and spending less time
- 2:14in certain circles so that you can focus
- 2:16on yourself. But I want you to think
- 2:18about it a little differently in this
- 2:19season. So when we think about an actual
- 2:22ghost, it's something that's still
- 2:23lingering after that person is gone. And
- 2:26obviously you're not transitioning
- 2:27between life and death, but you are
- 2:29transitioning between who you used to be
- 2:31and who you're becoming. So in a way,
- 2:33going ghost is about letting your old
- 2:35self become a ghost. the routines that
- 2:38you know aren't working, the places you
- 2:39keep going just because that's what you
- 2:41always do, the habits, the distractions,
- 2:44and even the old ways of thinking that
- 2:46keep you connected to a life that you're
- 2:48trying to move on from. This is your
- 2:49chance to create some space from all of
- 2:51that and give yourself room to change.
- 2:53And no, this doesn't mean that you have
- 2:54to lock yourself in your house for 6
- 2:56months. You can still see your friends
- 2:58and your family, travel, go out a little
- 3:00bit, and enjoy your life. It just means
- 3:02that you are being more selective about
- 3:04where your time and energy are going. So
- 3:06that's really what locking in and going
- 3:08ghost means to me. For a season, you
- 3:10become less present in the life that
- 3:12you're leaving behind so that you can
- 3:13become more present in the one that
- 3:15you're creating. And eventually the old
- 3:17version of you should feel like someone
- 3:19that you used to know. So now let's get
- 3:20into actually rebranding yourself. And
- 3:23before we touch on your appearance, we
- 3:24need to start with your identity. So
- 3:26your values, your beliefs, and the
- 3:28qualities that make you who you are.
- 3:30because you can change your entire
- 3:31aesthetic, but if nothing changes
- 3:33underneath it, eventually you're going
- 3:34to continue to fall back into the same
- 3:36version of yourself. So, start with your
- 3:38core values, what will matter to you
- 3:40regardless of time. Discipline might
- 3:42matter because you have goals that
- 3:43require you to be consistent.
- 3:45Intelligence might mean that you never
- 3:47stop learning even when you're already
- 3:49good at what you do. Independence might
- 3:51mean having your own money, growing it,
- 3:53and knowing you have options. So, what I
- 3:55want you to do is pick three to five
- 3:56values and think about what they would
- 3:58actually look like in your life. Then
- 4:00we're going to look at your limiting
- 4:01beliefs. So, what have you been telling
- 4:03yourself for so long that you're
- 4:04starting to treat it like a part of who
- 4:06you are? You can be successful and still
- 4:08think that you're not ready for the next
- 4:10opportunity. You can look good and still
- 4:12struggle with confidence. You can make
- 4:14great money and still believe that
- 4:16you're bad with it. Write down those
- 4:17limiting beliefs and start paying
- 4:19attention to the choices that you make
- 4:21because of them. And finally, give this
- 4:23era a name. Mine has become the brand.
- 4:25For me, that means that I'm not waiting
- 4:26until I have everything figured out or
- 4:28perfect. I'm going to capture my journey
- 4:30and share it. The challenges that I'm
- 4:32faced and the things that I'm working
- 4:33through will always be a part of my
- 4:35personal brand. Choose something that
- 4:37reminds you who you're choosing to be
- 4:38while you're locking in in this season
- 4:40because that's really what this rebrand
- 4:42is about is deciding who you want to
- 4:44become and starting to live like her
- 4:46now. Now, let's talk about your
- 4:47self-image. Because as you start
- 4:49changing, you may realize the way that
- 4:51you've been presenting yourself doesn't
- 4:52really match where you're going anymore.
- 4:54And I'm not just talking about wanting
- 4:55to look better so that you can attract a
- 4:57certain guy. Think about the life that
- 4:59you're building. Maybe you're trying to
- 5:00move up in your career, grow a business,
- 5:03attract better clients, or build a
- 5:04personal brand. In all of those spaces,
- 5:06how you present yourself becomes a part
- 5:08of how people experience you. So, of
- 5:10course, looking good doesn't replace
- 5:12being smart or talented or good at what
- 5:14you do. But people don't know all of you
- 5:16when they first meet you. They can only
- 5:18see how you show up. And research has
- 5:20found that things like clothing and the
- 5:22way that you groom yourself can
- 5:23influence how competent or professional
- 5:25that you appear. Maybe you want to look
- 5:27more polished at work. Maybe you're
- 5:28building a personal brand and you want a
- 5:30more recognizable style. Or maybe you've
- 5:32been making more money now and you would
- 5:34rather invest in a few things that you
- 5:36genuinely love instead of constantly
- 5:38buying trends. This is something that
- 5:40I'm going to be working on during this
- 5:41lockin season. And so what I usually
- 5:43like to do is get on Pinterest to save
- 5:45images of outfits, hair, and makeup.
- 5:47Just an overall image of the woman that
- 5:49I want to grow into. I'll link my
- 5:51Pinterest down below just in case you
- 5:52want some inspiration, but you can do
- 5:54the same. The goal with this is simple.
- 5:56Just make sure that the way that you
- 5:58present yourself is growing with the
- 5:59life that you're building. Now, let's
- 6:01talk about your career because I truly
- 6:03believe that every woman needs her own
- 6:05money. Period. And if the work that
- 6:07you're doing right now isn't taking you
- 6:09where you want to go, this might be an
- 6:10area of your life that needs to be
- 6:12rebranded, too. So, when I say career, I
- 6:14mean all of it. Maybe you have a 9-5 and
- 6:16you want to make more money or you want
- 6:18to move into a better position. Maybe
- 6:20you're building a business on the side.
- 6:22Maybe you already own a business or
- 6:24you're building a personal brand and
- 6:25you're trying to figure out how to
- 6:26actually make some money from it. You do
- 6:28not have to stay on the same path just
- 6:30because it's the one that you started
- 6:31on. So Rihanna is a perfect example. She
- 6:34expanded into beauty and fashion and
- 6:36built an entire empire on the side of
- 6:38her music career with Fenty. And the
- 6:40cool thing with this was no, she didn't
- 6:42rebrand who she was as a person all
- 6:44together to make this pivot. I think
- 6:46there's something to learn from that. So
- 6:48sometimes you already have the skills,
- 6:50the experience, connections, or even an
- 6:52audience that you could be doing more
- 6:54with. Look at your own situation. Are
- 6:56you being paid what your skills are
- 6:57worth? Is there another position that
- 6:59you could be working towards? Do you
- 7:00need to update your resume, your
- 7:02LinkedIn, or your portfolio? Is there a
- 7:04skill that you could learn that would
- 7:06increase your income? And if you have a
- 7:07business or a personal brand, is there
- 7:09something that you could be selling or
- 7:11doing differently? So, I want you to sit
- 7:12down and look at where you are and where
- 7:14you actually want to be in the next few
- 7:16years and what would realistically have
- 7:18to change for you to get there. You may
- 7:20not need a completely new career. You
- 7:22might just need to stop playing so small
- 7:24with the one that you already have. And
- 7:26if you're rebranding your career because
- 7:28you want to make more money, you also
- 7:29have to look at what you're doing with
- 7:31the money that you already have because
- 7:33you can increase your income and still
- 7:34carry the same habits that keep you
- 7:36feeling like you're falling behind
- 7:38financially. Now, be honest. Think about
- 7:40how you've been handling your money up
- 7:42until this point. Maybe you spend
- 7:44without really checking your account.
- 7:45You save whatever happens to be left
- 7:47over. Or you make good money, but you
- 7:49still find yourself wondering where it
- 7:51is all going. Now, think about the woman
- 7:53that you're trying to become. Maybe
- 7:55she's a lot more intentional with her
- 7:56money. She knows what's coming in. She
- 7:58knows what's going out. And she's
- 8:00thinking about what she wants her money
- 8:01to do for her long term instead of only
- 8:03thinking about what she can afford right
- 8:05now. So, for me, this has been a area
- 8:07that I have really been locking in with
- 8:09and focusing on. And I'm learning that
- 8:11what helps me is really knowing what my
- 8:13numbers are. So, I use an Excel
- 8:14spreadsheet to track my income and my
- 8:16bills. And before every pay period hits,
- 8:19I already know what's going towards my
- 8:20living expenses, my savings, and
- 8:22investments. I also like to keep my
- 8:24financial goals in front of me because I
- 8:26want to know if the way that I'm
- 8:27spending is helping me reach my goals or
- 8:29if it's slowing me down. So, look at
- 8:31your own money. Where has it actually
- 8:33been going for the last few months? Are
- 8:34you spending it on things that you don't
- 8:36even care about? Are there subscriptions
- 8:38that you have forgotten about? Are you
- 8:40saving and investing consistently or
- 8:42only when there happens to be a little
- 8:43money left over? For me, changing my
- 8:45relationship with money has also meant
- 8:47realizing that I may not have everything
- 8:49that I want, but everything that I need
- 8:51is definitely taken care of. And that's
- 8:53what I want for you as well. So, when we
- 8:54talk about rebranding your finances,
- 8:56that's exactly what I want you to think
- 8:57of. It's not rebranding money in
- 9:00general, but it is rebranding the
- 9:01relationship that you have with that
- 9:03money. Because the goal isn't just to
- 9:05make more money. It's to become better
- 9:07at growing it, keeping it, and using it
- 9:09to create opportunities for yourself.
- 9:11And once you start changing how you
- 9:13handle your money, it's going to be
- 9:14really important to look at your
- 9:15lifestyle as well. Because there may be
- 9:17things that you've been doing for years
- 9:19that just doesn't make sense for the
- 9:21life that you want anymore. Maybe you're
- 9:22tired of going out every weekend. Maybe
- 9:24you would rather travel, get in shape,
- 9:26learn how to cook, pick up a hobby, or
- 9:29spend more time working on your
- 9:30business. And even your home might need
- 9:32some attention. So, if you're going to
- 9:33be locking in and you're going to be
- 9:35spending more time at home anyways, make
- 9:37it somewhere you actually enjoy being.
- 9:39And really pay attention to who you're
- 9:41around because that becomes a part of
- 9:42your lifestyle as well. There's a
- 9:44saying, birds of a feather flock
- 9:46together, but there's actually research
- 9:47showing that some behaviors can
- 9:49definitely spread through your social
- 9:50networks. So, if everyone around you is
- 9:52always going out, they're spending
- 9:54money, they're eating a certain way,
- 9:55after a while, you may not even question
- 9:57it. It becomes just what everyone else
- 9:59is doing. And this is where going goals
- 10:01can actually be very helpful. A little
- 10:03distance gives you a chance to figure
- 10:04out, do I even enjoy living my life this
- 10:07way, or is it just something that I'm
- 10:08used to? And since the whole point of
- 10:10locking in is to really focus on
- 10:11yourself for a season, use this time to
- 10:13create a lifestyle that supports the
- 10:15life that you want to sustain. Get your
- 10:17sleep together, move your body, take
- 10:18care of your mental health, spend more
- 10:20time on the things that you keep saying
- 10:22are important to you. The point of
- 10:24locking in isn't to make your life
- 10:25boring. It's just to make sure that the
- 10:28way that you live every day is actually
- 10:30taking you where you want to go. So, now
- 10:31that we talked about all the different
- 10:33areas of your life that you can rebrand,
- 10:35I want to encourage you to use this
- 10:36season to document the transformation
- 10:38that's happening. There's a reason why
- 10:40before and afters are so powerful. So,
- 10:42think about someone who loses 50 lbs.
- 10:44Seeing the before and the after gets
- 10:45your attention, but then you want to
- 10:47know what did they do? What did they
- 10:49learn? What actually worked? So research
- 10:51on storytelling has found that when
- 10:53people get pulled into someone's story,
- 10:55we can become more connected to that
- 10:56person and the message behind it. I want
- 10:58you to think about your own
- 10:59transformation that way. Document
- 11:01building your career, your business,
- 11:02your money, your lifestyle, all of it.
- 11:04Because every time you go through
- 11:05something and you come out better on the
- 11:07other side, you know something that the
- 11:09woman at the beginning didn't know. And
- 11:11that knowledge has value. I believe that
- 11:13personal development can become your
- 11:15personal brand because your growth
- 11:17doesn't have to stop with you. You go
- 11:18through things, you get challenged, you
- 11:20learn something new, you apply it to
- 11:22your life, you get the results, and then
- 11:23you can turn around and use that to help
- 11:25the next person. And you can keep doing
- 11:27this because there is no final version
- 11:29of you. [music] You'll always have
- 11:30goals. You'll always be faced with
- 11:32another challenge, another level that
- 11:33you want to reach. Your transformation
- 11:36makes you better. What you learn from it
- 11:38makes you valuable. and passing that
- 11:40knowledge forward is how you grow
- 11:41something bigger than yourself. So, if
- 11:43you take anything away from this video,
- 11:45let it be this. Your best era isn't
- 11:47something that you wait for. It's
- 11:49something that you create. So, lock in.
- 11:51Get clear about the woman that you're
- 11:52becoming and start making your life
- 11:54match her. The way that you look, the
- 11:55way that you think, how you handle your
- 11:57money, your career, and [music] your
- 11:58lifestyle. And if you need to go goals
- 12:01for a season to focus on yourself, do
- 12:03[music] that. But use this season of
- 12:04locking in to document the
- 12:06transformation because what you learn
- 12:08while you're becoming better can
- 12:09definitely be used to help the next
- 12:11woman do the same. I trust that you're
- 12:12ready to start your own rebrand. Make
- 12:14sure that you grab a copy of my ebook,
- 12:16Become the Brand. It will be linked down
- 12:18below in the description box. It's going
- 12:19to help you map out who you're becoming,
- 12:21your goals, and how you can turn this
- 12:23season of personal growth into a
- 12:24personal brand. So, thank you so much
