How To Know If a Demon is Assigned To You — Transcript

2. 0:04main category of demons assigned to
3. 0:07attack your life. Have you ever noticed
4. 0:09that the enemy is not creative, but he's
5. 0:11actually very consistent? Different
6. 0:13faces, but same pattern to destroy your
7. 0:16body, torment your mind, fracture your
8. 0:18relationships, contaminate your purity,
9. 0:20and to sabotage your calling. The Bible
10. 0:23says not to be ignorant of Satan's
11. 0:25schemes. 2 Corinthians 2:11. That means
12. 0:28there are schemes. There are pattern.
13. 0:31There are categories and there are
14. 0:33assignments. See, demons often take on
15. 0:36labels that match their assignment. In
16. 0:39the Bible, spirits are frequently
17. 0:40described by their function, like an
18. 0:43unclean spirit, a spirit of infirmity, a
19. 0:45deaf and mute spirit, a lying spirit, a
20. 0:47spirit of divination. So, the name is
21. 0:49not always a personal identity. It's
22. 0:52often the operating work. [music] So,
23. 0:54today I'm going to give you a 10
24. 0:56category framework of common demonic
25. 1:00assignments that many deliverance
26. 1:02ministers use to help with this
27. 1:04discernment. First, I want to give
28. 1:06credit where the credit is due. This
29. 1:08kind of characterizing and training is
30. 1:10taught widely in deliverance circles,
31. 1:13but this one specifically I will share
32. 1:15with you is emphasized in the work of
33. 1:17Dr. Bob Larson, who has spent decades
34. 1:20not only teaching deliverance, but also
35. 1:24doing deliverance, and he has founded
36. 1:26Bob Larson University, an online
37. 1:28training school for spiritual warfare
38. 1:30that I encourage you to check it out.
39. 1:32It'll be a great blessing [music] to
40. 1:34you. Now, this is crucial. Categories
41. 1:37are not always diagnoses. Sometimes
42. 1:40they're a simple way to recognize
43. 1:42pattern so that you can respond
44. 1:44biblically. Before we touch these 10
45. 1:47categories, three big ideas you need to
46. 1:49keep in mind. The battle is real, and
47. 1:53our warfare is not against people. It's
48. 1:56against spirits, demonic spirits.
49. 1:59Ephesians chapter 6 verse 12. So, we
50. 2:02don't demonize people. We don't call our
51. 2:05ex a demon. We don't call the whole
52. 2:08culture a demon. There's flesh, there's
53. 2:10trauma, there is world, there is the
54. 2:13devil, and there are demons. So, our
55. 2:15battle is with spirits. Our main battle
56. 2:18is not with flesh and blood. Number two
57. 2:21big idea is not everything is demonic,
58. 2:24even in deliverance ministry. Ministers
59. 2:27that are well-rounded will admit there's
60. 2:29a difference between disorders and
61. 2:30demons. There's a difference between
62. 2:32trauma and demons. There's a difference
63. 2:34between flesh and demons. And there's a
64. 2:36difference between the world and demons.
65. 2:38Not everything is a demon. And thirdly,
66. 2:41as Christians, we fight demonic spirits
67. 2:46not for victory, but from victory. Jesus
68. 2:49gave believers authority over unclean
69. 2:51spirits. Deliverance is not drama. It's
70. 2:54actually reinforcing
71. 2:56the victory Jesus has already won. With
72. 3:00that said, so many people would push
73. 3:02away deliverance and say, "No, Jesus
74. 3:04already finished it. There's nothing we
75. 3:06need to do, just renew our mind." And I
76. 3:08have a whole video about six different
77. 3:11modes of deliverance that people
78. 3:13subscribe to in the church today, and
79. 3:15why many of them are not biblical
80. 3:18deliverance. And you can check out that
81. 3:20video and watch it on another time. But
82. 3:23Jesus won the victory. Deliverance is
83. 3:25reinforcing that victory by casting
84. 3:29demons out. So, here are 10 main
85. 3:31categories of demonic assignments.
86. 3:34Number one is infirmity and affliction.
87. 3:37The assignment is to attack the body
88. 3:40with sickness, weakness, chronic
89. 3:43affliction, and oppression through pain.
90. 3:47The Bible actually highlights that as a
91. 3:48spirit of infirmity, mentioned in Luke
92. 3:51chapter 13.
93. 3:53Demonic oppression a lot of times is
94. 3:55connected to physical impairment that
95. 3:59appears in the Bible. Now, this does not
96. 4:01mean every illness is a demon. We do
97. 4:04pray for healing,
98. 4:06and we also have to pray for
99. 4:08deliverance. Second assignment is death
100. 4:11and destruction. And that is to steal
101. 4:13your life, to push toward self-harm,
102. 4:17suicide, violence, reckless choices,
103. 4:21premature death, and hopelessness.
104. 4:25The scripture says in John chapter 10
105. 4:26verse 10, "The thief comes only to
106. 4:29steal, kill, and destroy." A man that
107. 4:31was demonized lived in the tombs, and he
108. 4:34was always driven to self-destruction.
109. 4:38What's interesting is when these demons
110. 4:40entered the pigs, demons destroyed
111. 4:43themselves. So, many times demons are on
112. 4:46the assignment to cause a person to
113. 4:49self-destruct.
114. 4:51And they hate life. Jesus is the author
115. 4:53of life. Demons, they oppose life.
116. 4:57The third assignment, and that is
117. 5:00undermine and your emotions. It is to
118. 5:03bring fear, torment, confusion,
119. 5:06obsessive thoughts, heaviness, panic,
120. 5:09tormenting dreams, accusation, and
121. 5:12condemnation. We see that a man who was
122. 5:14demonized, after his freedom, he was in
123. 5:18his right mind. That means when demons
124. 5:22were there,
125. 5:23his mind was not right. So, people who
126. 5:27are under that demonic oppression a lot
127. 5:30of times experience a mind that's just
128. 5:33not right. Something is wrong with it.
129. 5:35The Bible tells us God has not given us
130. 5:37a spirit of fear. That's why even
131. 5:40spiritual warfare includes taking our
132. 5:43thoughts captive. The devil loves to
133. 5:46target your mind. Satan is called the
134. 5:48accuser of the brethren, and he sends
135. 5:51these thoughts that are like arrows, and
136. 5:53we have to learn to discern between our
137. 5:55thoughts and demonic thoughts. And I
138. 5:58have a video and a teaching on that, how
139. 6:00Satan clothes our thoughts as his own to
140. 6:04deceive us. The fourth assignment is
141. 6:08behavioral strongholds. These are
142. 6:11patterns that feel automatic, like
143. 6:13avoidance, intimidation, rage cycles,
144. 6:18compulsive reactions, isolation habits,
145. 6:22people-pleasing addiction, or control
146. 6:27responses. Now, the Bible teaches us
147. 6:29that the Holy Spirit produces a fruit of
148. 6:32self-control. And in Ephesians it tells
149. 6:35us not to give a foothold to Satan
150. 6:39through unresolved anger and other
151. 6:41emotional things. And we see that the
152. 6:43man who was demonized, he had these
153. 6:46outbursts of wrath. He would cut
154. 6:48himself. He was violent. He would break
155. 6:50chains. These behaviors were a part of
156. 6:54the assignment being successful in his
157. 6:58life by demons. Demonic assignment
158. 7:01number five, and that is to cause
159. 7:03addiction and bondage through
160. 7:05enslavement, through compulsions,
161. 7:09substance abuse, alcoholism, gambling,
162. 7:13pornography.
163. 7:15It's secret cycles. It's when you
164. 7:17constantly relapse, and you have these
165. 7:19loops of relapsing. Now, could it be
166. 7:22just chemicals? Yes. Could it be just
167. 7:24habits? Yes. Could it be something more
168. 7:26spiritual? Absolutely. Jesus said in
169. 7:29John chapter 8 that he who practices sin
170. 7:32is a slave to sin. And if the son sets
171. 7:35you free, you are free indeed. So, you
172. 7:38need Jesus to set you free because the
173. 7:40master of sin is Satan himself. And
174. 7:44sometimes the way he rules a slave is
175. 7:47through his minions called demons. So,
176. 7:50assignment number six is sexual impurity
177. 7:54and perversion. Lust, pornography,
178. 7:57compulsive masturbation, adultery
179. 8:00cycles, perversion, same-sex attraction,
180. 8:04sexual shame, secret double life. While
181. 8:07lust is the issue of the flesh,
182. 8:10the flesh is the traitor within that
183. 8:14cooperates with the demons without. The
184. 8:17flesh is the traitor that wants to open
185. 8:19the door so that the demons will come in
186. 8:21and operate on the foothold that the
187. 8:25flesh gives them. Assignment number
188. 8:28seven is relationship breakdowns. It's
189. 8:31when there's constant rejection,
190. 8:33abandonment wounds, isolation, constant
191. 8:36offense, betrayal cycles, divorce, your
192. 8:40inability to trust, sabotaging love.
193. 8:43See, Satan tries to gain advantage
194. 8:46through relational offense and
195. 8:48unforgiveness. And so, we must
196. 8:50understand he uses anger a lot of times
197. 8:52as a foothold. We see the demonized man
198. 8:55in Mark chapter 5 was isolated among the
199. 8:58tombs, separated from the community. And
200. 9:00sometimes that is the strategy of the
201. 9:03demonic to cause a person not to be well
202. 9:07in the community. Assignment number
203. 9:09eight is bitterness and unforgiveness.
204. 9:12It's by replaying wounds, hatred, inner
205. 9:16vows, "I will never trust again,"
206. 9:19resentment, spiritual bondage, and
207. 9:22torment. The Bible says the unforgiving
208. 9:25servant was handed to the tormentors in
209. 9:28Matthew 18 verse 34 and 35. We see that
210. 9:32the root of bitterness defiles many.
211. 9:36Hebrews 12:15.
212. 9:38So, what we know is the enemy will use
213. 9:39the circumstances where you were
214. 9:41wronged, and he wants to fuel your
215. 9:44anger, fuel your revenge, and then he
216. 9:48wants to gain actually a foothold
217. 9:50through that to torment you, and to keep
218. 9:53you stuck in those things. And because
219. 9:56that opens a door for him, and he loves
220. 9:59unforgiveness. He loves bitterness.
221. 10:02Assignment number nine
222. 10:05is pride, unbelief, and spiritual
223. 10:07deception. And that is when people fall
224. 10:09into false doctrine, spiritual pride, I
225. 10:12don't need church, I don't need other
226. 10:14people, unbelief, blasphemy, antichrist
227. 10:18spirit that denies Jesus coming in the
228. 10:20flesh, and confusion about the truth.
229. 10:24The scripture says in 1 Timothy chapter
230. 10:264 verse 1 that in the last days there
231. 10:28will be deceitful spirits and doctrines
232. 10:31of demons. The scripture says in 2
233. 10:33Corinthians 4:4 that the god of this
234. 10:35world blinds the minds of people. The
235. 10:38spirit of antichrist is mentioned in the
236. 10:41Bible, and we as people need to resist
237. 10:44that. Now, what happens is this, is when
238. 10:46you fall into pride,
239. 10:48you actually invite this resistance. You
240. 10:51invite these spirits. Satan became Satan
241. 10:55because of pride. So, when you fall into
242. 10:59arrogance and pride, religious pride,
243. 11:01whatever form of pride you do, you're
244. 11:03actually partnering with the enemy. And
245. 11:06the last assignment of the enemy, and
246. 11:08that is a marriage, family, and your
247. 11:10destiny. To sow strive, to sow discord,
248. 11:14to sow adultery, contention,
249. 11:17generational patterns and cycles,
250. 11:19sabotage your calling, cause delay
251. 11:23for you to experience breakthrough,
252. 11:25almost, but not quite, and you never
253. 11:28experience that breakthrough. So,
254. 11:30I do believe that the enemy loves to
255. 11:33bring delay, loves to sabotage families.
256. 11:36And yes, while not everything is
257. 11:38demonic, people still need counseling,
258. 11:39people still need discipleship, but I
259. 11:41think it is wrong to read the Bible, see
260. 11:44what is happening in the New Testament,
261. 11:46and not admit the reality that there is
262. 11:48more to life than what we see, than what
263. 11:50meets the eye. When you go and mow the
264. 11:52lawn, you realize there's a grass you
265. 11:54see, and there is the roots you don't
266. 11:56see. When you go clean the spider web,
267. 11:58you see there's a web, and you also know
268. 12:01there is a spider that makes this web.
269. 12:03So, it is futile to just deal with the
270. 12:05web, just deal with the symptoms if you
271. 12:07never deal with the roots. And a lot of
272. 12:09times we need to do both, deal with the
273. 12:11symptoms, and also deal with the root.
274. 12:13So, what to do if you identify this as a
275. 12:15category? Number one, you got to submit
276. 12:18to God. That is a prerequisite to
277. 12:20dealing with spiritual roots. Number
278. 12:22two, is you got to repent for where the
279. 12:24sin is, or the agreement is. Number
280. 12:27three, search your heart if there is any
281. 12:30forgiveness issues, or offense, you got
282. 12:33to let that go. Number four, is you got
283. 12:35to renounce any lies, any open doors,
284. 12:38any oaths, any contracts, any vows.
285. 12:42Number five, is you got to resist the
286. 12:44devil. You got to replace patterns with
287. 12:46truth. You got to resist the enemy with
288. 12:49the word of God. I do believe for many
289. 12:52people
290. 12:53facing these things on regular basis.
291. 12:56This, what I've just mentioned, five
292. 12:57things, will not be enough. It will
293. 13:00weaken the stronghold, but they still
294. 13:02need someone to pray with them. It's not
295. 13:05because deliverance ministry is making
296. 13:07you addicted and needing another
297. 13:09believer. It's because God has fashioned
298. 13:11the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the
299. 13:13fivefold ministry, and he has created a
300. 13:16ministry in the way that we need God,
301. 13:19and we also need a brother or sister to
302. 13:20come in agreement with us and pray with
303. 13:24us and pray for us. And if you need that
