How to Hit $100K/Month in Under 90 Days with Local SEO — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00This is one of the best most clear
- 0:02explanations on how to do local SEO.
- 0:05Super straightforward. I read this this
- 0:08morning. I'm like, man, this is it was
- 0:09so good that I reshared it. I said,
- 0:11"This guy gets it. It's written by this
- 0:13guy, Saresh Shri Vastraa, and he just
- 0:18put up fire about exactly how to do
- 0:21local SEO that works, that's really easy
- 0:23to understand, that doesn't that's not
- 0:25super complex." All right, this is what
- 0:27it is. So he says, "You've been lied to.
- 0:30They said SEO takes 12 months to work,
- 0:33but the truth is a local business can
- 0:35hit $100,000 a month in under 90 days.
- 0:39Here's exactly how I would do it. Seems
- 0:42like a bold claim, right? But it's this
- 0:44is just it's so perfect. It's perfect."
- 0:46So what he says is, "I'd optimize my
- 0:49Google business profile before anything
- 0:50else. Most businesses treat Google
- 0:53business profile like an afterthought.
- 0:55That's the fastest way to lose local
- 0:57leads. Add real images, not stock. Fill
- 1:00in services, hours, categories. Get 10
- 1:03plus reviews immediately. Email past
- 1:06clients in order to do this. Post weekly
- 1:08updates. Google wants freshness and
- 1:11completeness. Give it both. This
- 1:13something that I've covered on the
- 1:14podcast before. Use real images, not
- 1:17just on Google business profile, but on
- 1:19all of all of your pages, especially
- 1:21your bottom of funnel SEO landing pages.
- 1:23Use real images. Don't use stock ones.
- 1:25It's adds so much trust. Google knows
- 1:28what a stock photo is because everybody
- 1:30Google can identify photos that are used
- 1:33on other websites. Use your own and have
- 1:36a complete business profile with
- 1:39reviews. Please do that. This is Shout
- 1:42out to Sarvesh again, man. I got to get
- 1:44Sarveesh on the on the show cuz it's
- 1:46such a good thread. All right. So, next
- 1:47next Sarvesh says, "I'd build one single
- 1:51page that prints money." Not our
- 1:54services, not welcome to ABC Plumbing.
- 1:57I'm talking one page that's built to
- 1:59rank and convert examples. And by the
- 2:02way, these examples, what I always talk
- 2:04about on this show, you're you're going
- 2:06to recognize these examples. Oh, yeah.
- 2:08Edward's been saying that for like a
- 2:10million days in a row now. He's been
- 2:12saying target these scenariobased
- 2:14landing pages for for every episode of
- 2:17the Edward Show. Same day drain cleaning
- 2:19in Denver. Affordable tree removal
- 2:22Charlotte, North Carolina. Top rated AC
- 2:25repair in Phoenix. Book now. Those are
- 2:28page titles. You're targeting these
- 2:30scenarios where people know exactly what
- 2:33they want. They just they're ready to
- 2:35convert. They know what they want and
- 2:36they're just looking for a brand that's
- 2:38going to give them what they want and
- 2:40say right away, we do what you are
- 2:42looking for and here's the reasons why
- 2:44we are the right pick for what you are
- 2:47looking for. They're not they're not
- 2:49looking these people who are searching
- 2:51like same day drain cleaning in Denver.
- 2:54They're not searching to understand what
- 2:56same day drain cleaning is. That's a
- 2:58mistake that lots of other SEOs will
- 3:00make is they will put up a page and have
- 3:02all this fluff at the beginning
- 3:03explaining what same day drain cleaning
- 3:05is. That is not how you do SEO. That is
- 3:08not how well that's not how you do SEO
- 3:10that converts. You would just say right
- 3:12away, we do same day drain cleaning in
- 3:14Denver. We arrive within this many
- 3:18minutes of being booked and this is what
- 3:20the process th we we go here. We do
- 3:23this. We remove all of this. It's going
- 3:25to be good as new, super clean, all that
- 3:28stuff. You you have a page that just
- 3:30it's a 400word page about why you are a
- 3:32good choice for this. Again, people
- 3:34already know what they're looking for.
- 3:35They just want to know why they should
- 3:37why they should choose you. And yeah, no
- 3:39fluff. He says it right here. Sarvesh
- 3:41says it right here. No fluff. Number
- 3:43three, I'd write content that feels like
- 3:45it came from the neighborhood. And this
- 3:47is again, this is something that
- 3:48something else that I'm always talking
- 3:50about. I'm saying with your blog instead
- 3:51of do so he says not some generic tips
- 3:54for homeowners garbage real local stuff
- 3:57like how to spot roof damage after a GF
- 4:00coast storm the best time of the year to
- 4:02prune oaks in Austin. What an AC tuneup
- 4:05actually costs in Miami. Speak to
- 4:07locals. Use street names if you have to.
- 4:10And I I say this so so so much. Make a
- 4:14blog that just really it don't make your
- 4:16blog for SEO. That's another mistake
- 4:20that everybody makes. They make their
- 4:21blog to rank for informational keywords.
- 4:24You can use informational keywords to
- 4:26find out what people care about. But on
- 4:28your blog, write things that are
- 4:30happening in your industry, things that
- 4:31are happening in if you're local, things
- 4:33that are happening in your area,
- 4:35different features and services that
- 4:36you're offering, new things that you're
- 4:38excited about. Think about what a blog
- 4:41actually used to mean. It used to mean
- 4:43somebody was writing about their life or
- 4:45their career or their industry. And then
- 4:48think about how that might apply to a
- 4:50company. The company is it's trying to
- 4:52be helpful to existing customers and to
- 4:54new customers. It's writing about
- 4:56updates that are happening. It's the
- 4:58same concepts. Okay. Number four, I'd
- 5:01fix internal links so Google actually
- 5:03knows what's important. Most local sites
- 5:05are a mess. No structure, no flow. Fix
- 5:09it. Homepage links to core services.
- 5:12Services link to blogs. Blogs link back
- 5:15to services. that loop. That's how you
- 5:18build topical authority and rankings.
- 5:20So, in your blog pages, you link to your
- 5:22services. The the way that I like to do
- 5:24it is you're a servicesbased business.
- 5:26You do forward slashservices and then
- 5:29you say all the services that you offer
- 5:31there. And each one of those is a
- 5:32different bottom of funnel SEO landing
- 5:34page similar to same day drain cleaning
- 5:37in Denver. But if you if you have like
- 5:40you don't want to do like in Denver in
- 5:42Charlotte, North Carolina at the end of
- 5:43every one of these because it could be a
- 5:45bit a bit spammy. So you have to do
- 5:47different ways to to phrase it. You
- 5:49actually what you could do is you could
- 5:50do Denver services same day drain
- 5:53cleaning. And then you don't have to
- 5:54have the URL slug be same day drain
- 5:56cleaning in Denver and then the page
- 5:58title. What would it be? Same day drain
- 6:00cleaning. You do a vertical pipe. You do
- 6:03Denver and then you do the name of your
- 6:05brand. And honestly, if the keywords
- 6:08you're targeting are underargeted
- 6:09enough, like you just need to make it
- 6:11clear that your service is in this
- 6:14location, even having just the name,
- 6:16address, phone number can be good enough
- 6:18a lot of the time. Just having that in
- 6:20your footer and then and then saying
- 6:21literally for searchers who are arriving
- 6:23to your to your page, this is where
- 6:25we're based. Saying that above the fold,
- 6:28that will be great, too. I cover this a
- 6:29lot more. I have an article on my site,
- 6:31how to do SEO for services businesses in
- 6:34under a minute. That is a great article.
- 6:36You will love that. It is very short.
- 6:38And we are almost done with this thread.
- 6:40Sarvesh says, "I'd run a full technical
- 6:42SEO audit. Before touching keywords or
- 6:45content, I'd fire up Screaming Frog and
- 6:47crawl the entire site. Fix the broken
- 6:49links. Fix your duplicate titles,
- 6:51descriptions, fix missing H1s, fix your
- 6:55redirect chains." So, if if you just
- 6:57keep endlessly redirecting to different
- 7:00URLs or you're redirecting too many
- 7:03times to uh to a single page, like
- 7:05you're going from one redirect to the
- 7:07next redirect to the next redirect and
- 7:08then finally to the page. Fix canonical
- 7:10tag issues. You can see all of this with
- 7:12Screaming Frog for free. For free up to
- 7:15500 URLs, but if you are a local site,
- 7:17especially if you're small, you might
- 7:19not have more than 500 URLs. Sarvves
- 7:21says, "If the site's foundations are
- 7:23broken, nothing else sticks." That is so
- 7:25true. You want your def your defensive
- 7:27SEO down before you are doing offensive
- 7:30SEO. And the last thing is internal
- 7:32linking structure. Every page links to
- 7:35the homepage. And so you can do that
- 7:37with your logo for example uh to
- 7:39relevant to relevant service pages. So I
- 7:42guess Saresh's method is you don't have
- 7:44a services hub page. Instead you just
- 7:47have like a very few amount of services
- 7:50and then you you would have those in the
- 7:52footer. Top blogs/resources.
- 7:54That is also great advice. Link to your
- 7:56top blogs. I do that to edwards.com. I
- 7:58link to my most valuable articles on
- 8:01edwardstrom.com on the homepage of
- 8:02edwardstrom.com. If you go on desktop,
- 8:04you'll see those in the navigation at
- 8:07the top. Just three articles that I
- 8:09handpicked that I said these are going
- 8:11to really benefit visitors. Sarvves says
- 8:14use keywordrich anchors naturally. This
- 8:16helps rankings faster than most people
- 8:19think. That was it. It's very
- 8:21straightforward. You might read this and
- 8:23be like, "No, no, no. There's no way
- 8:25that's going to work." You'd be
- 8:27surprised. You'd be surprised how many
- 8:30businesses are over complicating things
- 8:32to such a degree that they are
- 8:35handicapping themselves tremendously. I
- 8:38would add to this, use some local
- 8:40directories. Get yourself in some local
- 8:42directories. But yeah, aside from that,
- 8:44this was just a pretty perfect list.
- 8:46Follow this, please. If you're a local
- 8:48business, please listen to this. And
- 8:50honestly, you can take a lot of this
- 8:51stuff and apply it to a SAS business.
- 8:54You can apply it to an ecom store. It's
- 8:56just it's straightforward. It's clear.
- 8:59It's not spammy. It's authentic. You add
- 9:02real images, not stock. Be detailed.
- 9:06Fill in services, hours, categories. All
- 9:08right. This was so great. The link for
- 9:09this is going to be in the description
- 9:11for this episode. And I'm also going to
- 9:13send a me a message and say, "Hey, come
- 9:15on the podcast." Because clearly Sarvesh
- 9:18gets it. If you want to go deeper into
- 9:20this method of SEO, my the my method of
- 9:23SEO is extremely similar to this, it is
- 9:25at compactkeywords.com,
- 9:27works for services, works for ecom,
- 9:30works for SAS. It's used in all of these
- 9:33and people are getting crazy results in
- 9:34all of these and they're sharing them
- 9:35with me in testimonials in video
- 9:37testimonials on the landing page of
- 9:39compact keywords. I hope you will check
- 9:41that. It makes it very very clear. I am
- 9:44holding your hand. It is step by step.
- 9:46Here's how you here's how you use
- 9:48Screaming Frog. Here's how you do a site
- 9:49crawl. Here's how you take the data from
- 9:51Screaming Frog and and move it into my
- 9:54site audit template. Here's how you find
- 9:56keywords. Here's how you take the data
- 9:57for keywords and then move them into my
- 10:00keyword template. And here's how you
- 10:02identify lucrative bottomunnel keywords.
- 10:05Here's exactly what the pages look like.
- 10:08Here's the template for building links.
- 10:10Here's what you should say to
- 10:12journalists. All of this stuff so
- 10:14detailed that is at compactkeywords.com
- 10:16and that is everything that I got for
- 10:18you on this episode of the show. This is
- 10:21my daily digital marketing podcast. I'm
- 10:24lucky enough to have amazing guests on
- 10:26my show and discover amazing content
- 10:28like Sarvves content here uh every day
- 10:31honestly is a thrill. It is amazing to
- 10:34be able to do this. I have some great
- 10:36guests coming on this week as well.
- 10:38Crazy guests coming on this week. So, I
- 10:41am extremely grateful and excited and uh
- 10:44here's to many more days in a row. Thank
- 10:47you so much for watching if you watched
