- 21:45Oh, we love you, [music] Lord. Praise
- 21:48your name.
- 21:50Yes, Lord. [music]
- 21:55Oh, man. It is good. It's good to
- 21:57[music] be in God's house today. Amen.
- 22:01Oh man, that was that was uh might think
- 22:03we do a little bit better than that.
- 22:04Come on. It is good to be in God's house
- 22:05today. Can I get an amen? Yeah. Come on.
- 22:08Come on, man. It is just good. I just
- 22:10love this. I love this moment that we're
- 22:12having right now. We're saying Jesus be
- 22:15the name. Jesus be the name. You know
- 22:17how there are so many things that we can
- 22:20put at the center of our lives. There's
- 22:23so many names that we can give worth to.
- 22:25There's [music] so many names, so many
- 22:26things we can give glory to. But how
- 22:29many of you know there's only one name
- 22:30who is worthy of the name worthy of the
- 22:34glory in our life? It's Jesus Christ.
- 22:36And so I just thought, man, it'd be just
- 22:38so great for us just to put Jesus over
- 22:40everything this morning. Amen. Can we
- 22:42just put him over everything? Can we
- 22:43just whatever it is in your life that
- 22:45you need Jesus to be over? Would you
- 22:46just lift your hands, lift your hearts
- 22:48all across this place? Come on. Can we
- 22:49just put him at the center of our lives
- 22:52today? Father, we thank you. We thank
- 22:54you that God, you are worthy of our
- 22:57hope. You are worthy of our trust and it
- 23:01is well placed when it is placed in you.
- 23:03And so God, we just take time right now
- 23:05[music] and we just center our lives on
- 23:07you. We center our affections, our
- 23:09thoughts, our desires on you. We give
- 23:10you the glory. We give you the honor. We
- 23:13give you the praise. And God, [music] we
- 23:14just ask you to come and make your
- 23:17yourself at home in our hearts today.
- 23:20God, we pray that you'd speak to us this
- 23:22morning. We pray that God, you would
- 23:23draw us close to you. And that God, we
- 23:26would leave this place different [music]
- 23:28than when we came in more like you and
- 23:30less like this world. And Father, we
- 23:32give you the honor. We give you the
- 23:34praise. We give you all of the glory in
- 23:37Jesus' name. [music] And everybody said
- 23:39a good strong amen. Come on, let's give
- 23:41him praise one more time today.
- 23:46It's good good to be in God's house.
- 23:48Before [music] you before you find your
- 23:49seat, why don't you find 65 people next
- 23:51to you? Say, "Man, you are sounding good
- 23:52this morning." Come on, find someone
- 23:54just next to you. Say, "Man, you are
- 23:55sounding good this morning.
- 24:03Good morning, church. It's so good to
- 24:04see everybody.
- 24:07We doing all right today? We good? Good.
- 24:10Man, it's great to have everybody here.
- 24:12Uh, welcome to Summer Park Church. Uh
- 24:14especially if this is your first time,
- 24:15man, we're so glad that you are here and
- 24:18we just hope that you felt the presence
- 24:20of God during worship. Wasn't that
- 24:22worship great? Come on, give it up for
- 24:23that worship team. So good. Just, man,
- 24:24bringing it.
- 24:27We hope that you felt the presence of
- 24:29God, that you felt encouraged, that you
- 24:30felt strengthened in your faith. And we
- 24:33hope that you felt welcome today. No
- 24:34matter where you're from or what's going
- 24:36on in your world today, we want you to
- 24:37know this. God loves you. And he has a

- 24:45we hope that you experience that and we
- 24:47want to help get you connected. We want
- 24:49to help you experience all that God has
- 24:50for you. And so, if you're new, the
- 24:52first way to experience that here at
- 24:54Summit Park is by filling out an info
- 24:56card. Everybody say info card. So, it's
- 24:58this little white card that's on your
- 25:00seat there or it's in the seat back in
- 25:01front of you. If you're new, if you

- 25:22welcome everybody who's new to joining
- 25:24us for the first time? Come on, put your
- 25:25hands together. Really glad to have you.
- 25:28And if you are new or you've been coming
- 25:30for a little while and you have not been
- 25:31through Growth Track, that is your next
- 25:34step. So, I want to encourage you to go
- 25:35through Growth Track. Man, you're going
- 25:37to learn more about the church. You're
- 25:38going to get a chance to hear about our
- 25:40story, what we're about, but most
- 25:41importantly, you're going to hear about
- 25:42who you are and how God has made you and
- 25:44how God has wired you. And so, we want
- 25:47to encourage you to go through Growth
- 25:48Track. Our next step one starts August
- 25:512nd and it meets right across the street
- 25:53in our ministry center building, that
- 25:54great building across the street. We'd
- 25:56love to have you there. And uh it's a
- 25:58great it's a three four is Oh man, I
- 26:00know we just changed this. It's it's
- 26:02four now. Okay. It's a four-step
- 26:04four-step process for you to uh to grow
- 26:08in your relationship with the Lord.
- 26:09You're going to learn so much about who
- 26:11you are and help you get connected to
- 26:12the ministry here at Summit Park. But I
- 26:14want to encourage you to go to Growth
- 26:15Track. And the way you can find Growth
- 26:16Track is by filling out that connect
- 26:17card. You can go to that little that
- 26:19little QR code there and it's also on
- 26:21the screen and it's going to take you to
- 26:23a links page. You can sign up for Growth
- 26:24Track. You can see all of the things
- 26:26that we have coming up here at some
- 26:28aart. And one of those things that is
- 26:30coming up is kids camp and it's one week
- 26:33away everybody. Okay?
- 26:36And all the parents rejoiced.
- 26:39The parents are excited about kids camp
- 26:41coming up and I want to encourage you.
- 26:43The kids are going to have so much fun.
- 26:44This is a free camp that we have going
- 26:46on in the evenings Monday through
- 26:48Thursday next week and it is incredible.
- 26:50I mean the the team has an amazing time
- 26:54planned for your kids and so you will
- 26:56not be disappointed by bringing them
- 26:58here. It's free. Come on, somebody. We
- 27:00know that's the best price. Parents, the
- 27:02struggle is real. So, it's free and you
- 27:04can bring your kids. But here's here's
- 27:06the thing. We need we need you to sign
- 27:08up, okay? We need to know how many
- 27:10people are coming. So, if you could do
- 27:11that today, I know some of you have been
- 27:13procrastinating because you're like, I
- 27:15don't know. Maybe our plans will change.
- 27:16We might do something else. I know. But
- 27:18just go ahead and sign them up. That
- 27:21will help us plan because we're we're
- 27:22buying things. We're getting things
- 27:24together. And we'd love to know how many
- 27:26people are going to be coming. So, sign
- 27:27your kids up today. It's going to be
- 27:28great. Uh, we're going to be uh getting
- 27:30ready for the tithe and offering a
- 27:32couple ways. You can give today. You can
- 27:33give the C uh seat back in front of you.
- 27:36Go to our links page. You can give in
- 27:37the giving box on your way out or in the
- 27:39offering bucket as it comes by in just a
- 27:41moment. But one of the exciting things
- 27:42that we're doing with our giving this
- 27:45summer is we're participating in the
- 27:47back to school shoe drive.
- 27:52Shoe drive. And if you're paying
- 27:54attention, you know that's different
- 27:55than what we've normally done, which was
- 27:56a backpack drive. What we've been what
- 28:00we're this year, we're doing a shoe
- 28:01drive. And here's the thing. We've
- 28:02realized that a lot of churches, and
- 28:04this is awesome, a lot of community
- 28:05things, they've been doing a lot of
- 28:06backpacks. So, that's awesome. So, we've
- 28:09effectively changed the game for the
- 28:11backpacks, but what kids need now are
- 28:13shoes. And so, we're leaning in. We're
- 28:15actually partnering with other churches
- 28:17this year, and we're going to be doing a
- 28:19back to school shoe drive. And you have
- 28:21a little card there. It's got little
- 28:22information on your seat. You can fill
- 28:25look look at that. You can scan the QR
- 28:26code for more information. But we're
- 28:28going to be making a big difference
- 28:29partnering again with other schools in
- 28:30the area. And you can help by donating
- 28:33new shoes in children's sizes 10 and a
- 28:35half through adult size 7. And we have a
- 28:38little box out in the lobby that you can
- 28:40bring those shoes to starting today. Um
- 28:43and you can you can participate in this
- 28:45today, next week, and also the 26th. Or
- 28:48if you're not able to to make it and
- 28:49pick up some shoes, you can also give a
- 28:51gift of $60 and that's going to help one
- 28:54kid go to school with a new pair of
- 28:56shoes. Come on, somebody. How many know
- 28:58that's a big deal? That's a big deal.
- 29:00So, I mean, here's the reality. I mean,
- 29:03in our own backyard, in our own
- 29:05backyard, there are so many needs. So
- 29:07many kids who are going back to school
- 29:09and they feel insecure. They've got
- 29:11holes in their shoes. We can make a
- 29:12difference about that. And so, I want to
- 29:13encourage you to participate. It's going
- 29:15to be a lot of fun to see how God uses
- 29:16us to make a difference uh in that. Uh
- 29:19well, today guys, we are in week two of
- 29:21summer at Summit Park. And we have with
- 29:25us our good friend Douggee Wackman is in
- 29:29the house today, everybody. So, for
- 29:32those of you who know him, for those of
- 29:34you who you know you know him, you know
- 29:35that you love him and he's a fan
- 29:37favorite here and we're so glad that
- 29:39you're here, Doug. Always so appreciate
- 29:41you taking time to be with us. Uh Doug
- 29:44can be literally anywhere in the
- 29:46country. Uh he's he's a sought-after
- 29:49communicator. Uh but uh and very very
- 29:51busy. The Lord is using he and his
- 29:54family in a powerful way in Austin. And
- 29:57but he's carved out time to be with us
- 29:59this weekend. And Doug, we so appreciate
- 30:01it and thank you so much for being here.
- 30:03You're going to love him. He's g He
- 30:04always brings a a fresh word. And I also
- 30:07want to encourage you. He's he's he's
- 30:09bring his book is coming out. His very
- 30:11first book is coming out next month. Is
- 30:13it next month? Next month it's coming
- 30:15out. But y'all, you can reserve your
- 30:17copy today. All right. You can reserve
- 30:20your copy today and get this thing
- 30:22launched strong. Now, I've read this
- 30:24book. Okay. So, I've read this book. I'm
- 30:26telling you, it's awesome. It's about
- 30:28it's all about what does God have for me
- 30:31next? And how many of you ever asked
- 30:32that question? What does God have for me
- 30:34next? Yes. All of us, all of the time,
- 30:37right? So, this is something that uh all
- 30:39of us are constantly looking at. I want
- 30:40to encourage you check that out. This
- 30:42book is amazing. Uh he's got a great
- 30:44word for us today. And so, we're going
- 30:46to hear a couple videos. As you see
- 30:49those videos and Doug comes up, if you
- 30:51would stand and welcome him because it
- 30:52is going to be a great day. Thank you so
- 30:54much for being here at Summit Park.
- 30:57>> Hey everybody, my name is Hannah and I'm

- 31:36[music]
- 32:31>> Please welcome to Summit Park Church,
- 32:33[music]
- 32:33Doug Wckenman.
- 32:36[applause]
- 32:38Good morning, Summit Park. Hey, come on.
- 32:40Can we give all the glory, praise, and
- 32:42honor to the name above every name, the
- 32:45name of Jesus Christ?
- 32:48Let's go. And can you help me out? Can
- 32:50we welcome everybody joining us online?
- 32:53We love you so much. And then one more
- 32:56thing before you take a seat. I need you
- 32:58guys to help me show some love to your
- 33:00fearless leaders, Pastors Scott and Jen
- 33:02O'Bky.
- 33:04I sincerely love you guys. I'm inspired
- 33:07by you. Every time I come here, I leave
- 33:09better just cuz I get to be around you
- 33:11for like 24 hours. So, from the bottom
- 33:13of my heart, I mean it. Thank you for
- 33:15your s your sacrifice and service to the
- 33:18kingdom of heaven cuz I go back to
- 33:20Austin. A better man, a better pastor, a
- 33:22better dad, a better friend every single
- 33:24time I get to be here. So, thank you to
- 33:26you guys. Yeah. [applause]
- 33:29All right, you guys can take a seat.
- 33:32Here we go. I uh I tend to be
- 33:34long-winded, you know what I mean? And
- 33:35I'm on a clock. I hate those clocks,
- 33:38man. So, we're going to get going. My
- 33:40name is Doug Wackinman and I pastor a
- 33:42church called Red Rocks in Austin,
- 33:44Texas. I'm going to show you a picture
- 33:45of my family because studies show you
- 33:48will immediately like me more if I do
- 33:50that. So, that is my beautiful wife,
- 33:52Sam. Will is seven, Kinsley is five, and
- 33:55Mela just turned two. I'm not saying
- 33:58Ma's my favorite, but I'm also not not
- 34:01saying Mila's my favorite. I'm just
- 34:03saying she's the only one of the three
- 34:04who hasn't talked back to me yet. Okay.
- 34:07But this group, that is my first
- 34:09calling, the first church I'm building,
- 34:11and the greatest gift God has given to
- 34:13me outside of my salvation.
- 34:16So, now you know me a little bit better.
- 34:18Today, I want to preach a simple a
- 34:20simple and hopefully helpful message
- 34:22called How to Hear the Voice of God. And
- 34:26I just want to give you three practical
- 34:28ways that God speaks because he is
- 34:30speaking all the time. So, how to hear
- 34:34the voice of God. God. So God, we love
- 34:36you.
- 34:37We uh we shut out distraction right now
- 34:41and we sink into the moment.
- 34:44You are always speaking. You are always
- 34:46right here and right now. It's us who
- 34:49aren't.
- 34:51So we get right here and right now. And
- 34:53we simply say speak to us. We're
- 34:55listening. We love you in Jesus name.
- 34:57And everybody said
- 34:59>> amen. Amen. All right. I'm going to
- 35:02start with the bold statement about
- 35:03human nature. Here's what I think. I
- 35:06think as human beings, we think we know
- 35:09way better than we actually do when it
- 35:12comes to so many different things. I saw
- 35:14a recent survey that said 50% of guys
- 35:19believe in an emergency situation they
- 35:21could land a commercial jet. [laughter]
- 35:25That's ridiculous. Okay, guys. I love
- 35:27you, but a commercial jet. Like, I could
- 35:30do that,
- 35:32you know, but Lawson, my buddy I brought
- 35:34with me, there's no way Lawson could do
- 35:36that. So, I guess I'm doing the math in
- 35:38real time right now. Maybe it is like
- 35:40half. You know, that's how we think as
- 35:42men. Oh, I've seen Top Gun. So, if the
- 35:44pilot has a heart attack, nobody panic
- 35:46cuz I've seen Top Gun one and two. And I
- 35:50see a lot of myself in Maverick. You
- 35:52know what I mean? We think we know
- 35:54better than we really do. And ladies,
- 35:56because I don't want to leave you out,
- 35:57and I'm speaking mostly to my generation
- 35:59and younger, y'all think that you can
- 36:01solve cases better than the FBI.
- 36:04And maybe you can, you know, maybe the
- 36:06CIA should be made up of single girls in
- 36:10Kansas City with a little bit of time on
- 36:12their hands and access to Wi-Fi and a
- 36:14bottle of Barefoot Chardonnay. And
- 36:16you're going to get to the bottom of
- 36:17that case so fast. It's like, don't even
- 36:20tell her he's a suspect. Just say just
- 36:22give her a name and a blurry photo and
- 36:25and say this is the knucklehead who
- 36:27stood up your best friend on a hinge
- 36:28date three nights ago. We need to find
- 36:31him and expose him. And she is cracking
- 36:33that case, man. And cracking some
- 36:35skulls.
- 36:37Just tell her he's in finance, 6'5, blue
- 36:39eyes with a trust fund, and uh in 6
- 36:43hours or less, you're going to have a
- 36:44blood type and a shoe size. 10 and a
- 36:48half in Nikes, 11 in Crocs.
- 36:52It's human nature to think we know
- 36:54better than we really do. In fact, give
- 36:57us a few decades on this planet and we
- 36:59start to believe we know better than an
- 37:01infinite God as well. But here's what I
- 37:04know. When it comes to plans,
- 37:08gods are better.
- 37:10And God just he knows better than we do.
- 37:12God's ways are better than the world's
- 37:15ways. And I'm going to say this again
- 37:17once again for the younger generations
- 37:19in this room especially because the
- 37:21world has ways and it has these really
- 37:24beautifully printed brochures that
- 37:26overpromise but underdel every single
- 37:30time. And you here's just you got to get
- 37:33this. You don't have to be 78 before you
- 37:36figure this out. God's ways are not just
- 37:40holier.
- 37:42They're better. They're richer. They're
- 37:46healthier. They're fuller. They're
- 37:48they're funner. That's not even
- 37:49grammatically correct, but they're
- 37:51goodter in every possible way. It's
- 37:54like, how does Forest Frank say it? I
- 37:56searched the world till my head hurt
- 37:58just to find out God's way is better.
- 38:01I'm praying for somebody in here. You
- 38:03don't have to search the world for
- 38:04another decade. You can learn the lesson
- 38:07the easy way today. He is a good God who
- 38:10has good plans for your life. Like Scott
- 38:12said, that's I wrote my very first book.
- 38:14It gets released to the world next
- 38:16month. It's called, "What does God have
- 38:17planned for me next?" It's all about how
- 38:19do I follow a God I can't always see
- 38:21with a voice I can't always hear into a
- 38:22future that I don't know. And if he does
- 38:26have good plans for me, how do I figure
- 38:28out what they are? I I want to
- 38:29experience all of it and miss none of
- 38:31it. So, how do I make big decisions with
- 38:34God? How do I hear the voice of God?
- 38:39In First Kings chapter 19, Elijah, the
- 38:42legendary prophet from the Old
- 38:43Testament, Elijah wants to hear the
- 38:46voice of God. James 5, by the way, says
- 38:49Elijah was a human being just like me
- 38:50and just like you. That makes me feel
- 38:52better that even Elijah was having a
- 38:55hard time hearing God's voice. So Elijah
- 38:58climbs a mountain. He does what a lot of
- 39:00us do when we're desperate for some
- 39:02divine direction. and he goes to Hill
- 39:04Country or finds the closest lake and a
- 39:07beautiful scenic overlook at sunset with
- 39:09his leather Bible and puts on his
- 39:12favorite worship song and and he looks
- 39:14at the sunset or the stars coming out
- 39:16and goes, "Speak to me, Lord." And this
- 39:19is what happened starting in verse 11.
- 39:21Then a great and powerful wind tore the
- 39:24mountains apart and shattered the rocks
- 39:27before the Lord. But the Lord was not in
- 39:30the wind.
- 39:32After the wind, there was an earthquake,
- 39:34but the Lord was not in the earthquake.
- 39:37After the earthquake came a fire, but
- 39:40the Lord was not in the fire. After the
- 39:43fire came a gentle whisper,
- 39:48and it was in the gentle whisper that
- 39:49Elijah heard the voice of God. The
- 39:53Hebrew word there for gentle whisper is
- 39:55the word de mama. It's not a mama joke.
- 39:58It's just it's just a word. It's de
- 40:00mama. And it means a gentle whisper or a
- 40:04still small voice. So God has an outdoor
- 40:08voice and knows how to use it. When he
- 40:10said, "Let there be light." I I'm sure
- 40:12that broke a few celestial decibel
- 40:15meters. You know what I mean? He has an
- 40:17outdoor voice, but God often times
- 40:20whispers to us. And Mark Batterson tells
- 40:24us why. I love this quote. When someone
- 40:26speaks in a whisper, you have to get
- 40:28very close to hear.
- 40:30We lean in toward a whisper, and that's
- 40:33what God wants. The goal of hearing the
- 40:35heavenly father's voice isn't just
- 40:37hearing his voice. That's so key. It is
- 40:40intimacy with him. That's why he speaks
- 40:44in a whisper. He wants to be as close to
- 40:46us as divinely possible. He loves us. He
- 40:50likes us that much. And that that's good
- 40:53preaching. it like it if it it's good in
- 40:56church, but in when you're trying to
- 40:58live that out, it's kind of frustrating.
- 41:00You're like, why you got to whisper?
- 41:02It'd be so much easier with with this
- 41:04whole God's plans thing and trying to
- 41:06figure out what they are if you could
- 41:08just like go to Starbucks with God and
- 41:11sit down over a venty two pump caramel
- 41:13macchiato and pretend it's coffee and
- 41:14not a milkshake, even though it's way
- 41:16more close to ice cream than coffee, but
- 41:18we'll keep pretending it's coffee.
- 41:20That's that's fine. and you sit down
- 41:21across from God and you go, "Hey, God,
- 41:23thanks for meeting me. I know you're
- 41:25busy. Uh, how's heaven? How's Gabriel?
- 41:27How are the golden streets? Anything I
- 41:29can pray for you for?" You know, "Hey,
- 41:31by the way, while I have you, who should
- 41:32I marry? And what job should I take? And
- 41:36should I move there or should I should I
- 41:39stay here? What's my calling? And while
- 41:41I have you, what is a calling?" You
- 41:43know, it's so ethereal calling. Do I
- 41:46have more than one? Should I buy? Should
- 41:48I rent? Should I invest in AI? Should I
- 41:51be polite to chat GPT? Probably, by the
- 41:54way. Okay. Should I send my kids to
- 41:56public school or or private school?
- 41:59Like, what are the plans you have for
- 42:01me? I know the verse. You have good
- 42:03plans for me. A hope and a future. I
- 42:05memorized it. I even got it tattooed on
- 42:07my ribs for crying out loud. But what
- 42:09are said plans that you like? That would
- 42:12be so much easier. You take so many
- 42:15notes at that coffee meeting. But that's
- 42:18not how God works. Why?
- 42:22Because he loves you and likes you so
- 42:25much that he wants you close.
- 42:28See, sometimes I'll whisper something to
- 42:30my son, Will, and he'll he'll look at me
- 42:33like, "What' you say, Dad?" And and I'll
- 42:35whisper it again under my breath. And
- 42:37then he'll get closer and I'll whisper
- 42:39it again. And then he gets closer and
- 42:40then when he's right next to me, I'll
- 42:42grab him like, "Gotcha, you little
- 42:44knucklehead."
- 42:45Is it a trick? Maybe. Does it make me a
- 42:48bad dad? Absolutely not. I love him so
- 42:53much that I want him as close to me as
- 42:56as possible. I mean, it'd be nice if God
- 42:58showed up in the fire or a hurricane to
- 43:01to shout to you in his outdoor voice to
- 43:04marry this person, break up with that
- 43:06person, move there, stay here, don't
- 43:09smoke that. But God whispers.
- 43:12And to hear him, you have to get close
- 43:15because God knows something we often
- 43:17forget. That hearing God is not the goal
- 43:19of hearing God. Proximity with God is
- 43:22the goal of hearing God. I mean, this is
- 43:25frustrating, but it's true. The process
- 43:27of prayer will change you in ways that
- 43:30getting an answer to your prayer never
- 43:31could. Summit Park, I'm praying for so
- 43:34many answered prayers for y'all in 2026.
- 43:36I'm just saying your pursuit of hearing
- 43:39the voice of God and the wrestling and
- 43:42when you're wrestling with him by
- 43:44definition you are close to him. Your
- 43:47pursuit of God's voice, your process of
- 43:49praying through that is going to change
- 43:53you and transform you from the inside
- 43:55out way more than an answered prayer or
- 43:57even hearing his voice ever could. God
- 44:00whispers with a still small voice. It's
- 44:03frustrating on surface level until you
- 44:06realize the reason why in his heart. And
- 44:08I will say this, whispers are clear when
- 44:11you are close.
- 44:13Chris Hajes says it like this. God
- 44:15doesn't have a speaking problem. We have
- 44:18a hearing problem.
- 44:21You need to leave here believing that
- 44:23God wants to speak to you.
- 44:26Not just Elijah. Elijah was a human
- 44:28being just like you. God wants to
- 44:30communicate with you. It's true. But
- 44:33it's important that you believe it's
- 44:34true for you because you will experience
- 44:36it to the level and degree that you
- 44:38believe it's true for you. God wants to
- 44:41communicate to you. He is always
- 44:44speaking. And today I just want to give
- 44:45you three practical ways to hear his
- 44:47voice. There's there are so many ways. I
- 44:50just want to give you three. The first
- 44:51one is this. God communicates through
- 44:54community.
- 44:57God will speak to you through people.
- 45:00God will speak through you to people.
- 45:04Now, first of all, I think God speaks
- 45:06loudest through your life when you don't
- 45:07have to say a word. Where the story that
- 45:10you live preaches the message that you
- 45:12believe. Where the things you do and the
- 45:15things you choose not to do speak
- 45:17volumes to the people around you about
- 45:20who God is to you. But when it comes to
- 45:24hearing God through the people in your
- 45:26life, here's just a simple tool.
- 45:28Consider the source. Consider the
- 45:31source. Mark Batterson makes the point
- 45:33that God way more often will speak
- 45:35through friends than through strangers.
- 45:37Now, God can speak and communicate
- 45:38through anything. In the Old Testament,
- 45:40he speaks through a donkey.
- 45:42He speaks through a tree that's on fire.
- 45:44He speaks through a cloud. I I think God
- 45:47speaks through comedians all the time. I
- 45:49think comedians are like modern-day
- 45:50prophets and they don't even know it
- 45:52because they can say what all of us need
- 45:54to hear and get away with it cuz it's
- 45:55funny. You know, God will speak and use
- 45:57he'll he'll speak through anything. I'm
- 45:59just saying often times he will speak
- 46:02through you or to you through a trusted
- 46:05relationship because speaking truth and
- 46:07love is an earned right in the byproduct
- 46:09of relational equity. My brother, God
- 46:13speaks to me through my brother all the
- 46:14time because he knows me and he loves me
- 46:16enough to tell me sometimes what I don't
- 46:19want to hear. He knows my blind spots.
- 46:21He can see them. I've given him
- 46:22permission to call me on them. The
- 46:25stronger the relationship, the more
- 46:26weight the words carry. 15 years ago, I
- 46:29just started following Jesus. And one
- 46:31afternoon, I was in college at CU
- 46:32Boulder, and God spoke to me through my
- 46:35college pastor, Bill Stevens. And it was
- 46:37like a year into to Christianity. I was
- 46:40a leader at the at our college ministry
- 46:42called the Annex. And um I was I was
- 46:45leading a small group and I had stage
- 46:47responsibilities on Tuesday evening. in.
- 46:49But I was I was caught up in that
- 46:51classic double life, you know, where
- 46:53Tuesday night was church, but Wednesday
- 46:55night we had a party at our house and
- 46:57Thursday night was small group, but then
- 46:58Friday and Saturday was more parties and
- 47:01and and and getting drunk and and raers.
- 47:04And then Sunday was like set aside for
- 47:06an all day of repentance. And then it
- 47:08was it was wash, rinse, and repeat. And
- 47:11that starts to get old and meaningless.
- 47:15Like I said, you can keep searching the
- 47:17world till your head hurts or you can
- 47:18just realize that God's way is so much
- 47:22better. And he spoke through Bill to me
- 47:24one afternoon because Bill took me out
- 47:26to coffee [clears throat] and Bill uh he
- 47:29sat me down. This was my first Christian
- 47:31call out as they say. And iron sharpens
- 47:33iron. I know the verse, but man, the
- 47:35friction is not fun. And the first thing
- 47:38Bill said to me was, um, I'm not going
- 47:40to tell you I'm not I'm I'm just going
- 47:41to shoot you straight and tell you what
- 47:42you need to hear. And I thought, "Oh,
- 47:44okay. This is new." And he said, "It'd
- 47:48be one thing, Doug, if you weren't a
- 47:49leader. After all, PSA, God has only
- 47:51ever used broken people other than
- 47:53Jesus. There are no other kinds." He
- 47:55said, "But you are a leader in this
- 47:57ministry. And and especially the young
- 47:59guys in your group, the way you're
- 48:01living is just not godly. And it's
- 48:04confusing. And it it's you you have been
- 48:07given so much influence by God, and you
- 48:10are punting on first down." And I sat
- 48:13there. I was just It was He's like, "God
- 48:15has plans for you. I'm try You're you're
- 48:17I don't want you to miss them right now.
- 48:19You're you're ignoring them." And I I
- 48:22sat there just like my heart was racing.
- 48:24And I know you're thinking like I
- 48:26responded like the mature Christian man
- 48:29of God that I was. And not quite yet.
- 48:31Like I walked out of that coffee shop so
- 48:33mad. And I reached for the legalism
- 48:36card. You know what I mean? Where I'm
- 48:38like, "That's legal. Legalism." I didn't
- 48:41know my pastor was a legalist,
- 48:44which is just lowhanging fruit when
- 48:45you're feeling the the sting of
- 48:47conviction, you know, to mask it.
- 48:51I really felt on my walk back to my car,
- 48:55God spoke to me. And notice in this
- 48:57case, speaking is a feeling. He said,
- 49:00"Hey, buddy." God calls me buddy a lot.
- 49:03Like I think that's why I call will
- 49:04buddy.
- 49:06He said, "Um,
- 49:09legalism Try. What about maturity?
- 49:13That's a better word.
- 49:15Hey, don't call wisdom legalism
- 49:19to your own detriment. Like, I'm I'm
- 49:21trying to to speak to you right now
- 49:23through your pastor,
- 49:25knucklehead. He calls me that, too. If
- 49:27you're smart, if you're smart, you will
- 49:30you will hear what I'm I'm trying to
- 49:33say. God will speak through trusted
- 49:35people. He'll speak through your
- 49:36pastors. Like if this is your church
- 49:38home, if you have planted yourself in
- 49:40this house, God will speak to you
- 49:42through the shepherds he's placed over
- 49:43your life in Scott and Jen. Scripture
- 49:45tells us to walk with the wise. You are
- 49:47doing that just by being part of this
- 49:49church. God communicates through
- 49:52community. The question is like, how do
- 49:54you know if it's God or not? How do you
- 49:57know if that was really the Holy Spirit
- 49:58or that was the pizza I had for dinner
- 50:01last night? You know, cuz we all have
- 50:03friends who will tell us what we want to
- 50:04hear. Like you might be a friend who
- 50:07tells your friends what they want to
- 50:09hear. You might be paying a counselor a
- 50:11lot of money to tell you exactly what
- 50:13you want to hear. So how do you know if
- 50:17and not to say God doesn't tell you what
- 50:19you want to hear. He does that all the
- 50:20time. I'm just saying if he wasn't
- 50:22telling you what you wanted to hear and
- 50:23he was trying to tell you something you
- 50:24didn't want to hear, would you hear him?
- 50:27And before you say, "Well, yeah. When
- 50:28was the last time he did?"
- 50:33When you hear the words false teacher,
- 50:34if you're anything like me, you
- 50:36immediately start to think of like the
- 50:38public figure pastor who's preaching
- 50:40prosperity to lead people astray. And
- 50:44you know what? Sadly, true. But I think
- 50:47a much bigger category of false teachers
- 50:50in our day and age is well-intentioned
- 50:53Christian friends
- 50:55who give really bad advice and stamp
- 50:58God's name on it because it's what you
- 51:01want to hear and it's easy to say and it
- 51:04lines up with the world's patterns and
- 51:05it it's like it's like this. Oh, move in
- 51:08together. Like financially it makes more
- 51:11sense. God knows you're you're going to
- 51:12get married one day. He He just wants
- 51:14you to be happy. And And we It's called
- 51:17playing the God card. It happens all the
- 51:19time where when we we say, Here's what
- 51:22I'm trying to say. We'll do things like
- 51:24this all the time. Like God just wants,
- 51:27God will say, God just
- 51:30whatever you say after that,
- 51:33like I really hope God said that
- 51:37because we now do that really
- 51:39flippantly.
- 51:40But when you say God says,
- 51:43whatever you say after that, it's like
- 51:45you are speaking on behalf of the
- 51:47creator of the universe. Can we just add
- 51:50a little bit of weight and reverence
- 51:52back into those two words? God God says
- 51:56it's Proverbs 14:12 says there is a way
- 51:59that appears to be right. The world has
- 52:02ways that appear to be right. Those
- 52:04brochures look good.
- 52:07Everybody's finding what they're looking
- 52:08for.
- 52:10But in the end, it leads to death. Just
- 52:13because it's said well on Instagram
- 52:15doesn't mean it's true. False teaching
- 52:17is not stamped with the big false
- 52:19teaching sign. It It's like all great
- 52:22lies. It's full of a lot of truth.
- 52:26That's why knowing scripture, I was
- 52:29going to do a whole point on it, but
- 52:31like this is the number one way to
- 52:33recognize the voice of God. Like if you
- 52:35have access to one of these, I don't
- 52:36think we know what we have in this. It's
- 52:39on my coffee table. It's on my shelf.
- 52:41It's in your phone. But Christians all
- 52:44throughout history and even in parts of
- 52:45the world right now would give any This
- 52:47has been passed on through the
- 52:49generations by the blood of Christians
- 52:52so that we could have if you have access
- 52:54to one of these, you can't tell me God
- 52:55is not speaking to you. He speaks to you
- 52:58all the time. And God will never use
- 53:00somebody in your life to speak to you
- 53:02something that contradicts this. It's
- 53:05why you got to know you got to know the
- 53:07real thing.
- 53:09God will speak to you through his word.
- 53:11God will communicate through his through
- 53:13community. I'll keep moving. Point
- 53:15number two, God shouts to us in the
- 53:18struggle.
- 53:20And I know this is sensitive and I know
- 53:22pain is so real. I feel like the more
- 53:24meetings I have right now, it seems like
- 53:26everybody is fighting some kind of
- 53:27battle. Like the amount of pain in this
- 53:30room right now, if we pass this
- 53:32microphone around, and I don't know why
- 53:34bad things happen, and I'm not just
- 53:36gonna pretend to. I do know the Bible's
- 53:39not trying to sell you nothing, which is
- 53:40why I trust it. It was even Jesus who
- 53:43said, "In this world, y'all going to
- 53:44have trouble." And his wish is not to
- 53:48give us a pain-free life or even to pull
- 53:50us out of the world, but rather to be
- 53:52with us right smack dab in the middle of
- 53:54the world. It's not to help us avoid
- 53:56every valley. It's the shepherd is with
- 53:59me in the valley. His rod and staff
- 54:02comfort me. He will draw near to you.
- 54:04God will shout to you in your struggle.
- 54:07It's about more and more of his of his
- 54:09presence. CS Lewis said, "He will
- 54:11whisper in our pleasures, but he will
- 54:13shout to us in our pain."
- 54:15>> Shout to us in our in our pain.
- 54:20He speaks so loud when we are in a
- 54:24season of of struggle. And I do know
- 54:27that with God, pain is not pointless.
- 54:30Because if the purpose of life is the
- 54:31pursuit of happiness, pain becomes the
- 54:33ultimate enemy. But if the purpose of
- 54:36life is something beyond this life,
- 54:38namely a transcendent God who uses all
- 54:42things to draw you closer to him, well
- 54:44then pain becomes a portal into more of
- 54:46his presence.
- 54:50On October 31st, 2003, Bethany Hamilton
- 54:53was a
- 54:5413-year-old girl surfing off the coast
- 54:56of Kauaii when she was attacked by a
- 54:5914oot tiger shark. She lost 60% of her
- 55:02blood. A lot of you know the story. And
- 55:04her left arm.
- 55:06And I my theology I believe this with
- 55:09all my heart. God does not send sharks
- 55:13literally or figuratively. In this
- 55:16world, you will have trouble. Sometimes
- 55:18sharks just show up. You want to know
- 55:20what's crazy about Bethany is Jeremiah
- 55:2229:11, the good plans verse. God has
- 55:24good plans for me, a hope and a future.
- 55:26That was her life verse before her
- 55:28accident.
- 55:30And it continues to be her life verse to
- 55:32this day that God can use the worstcase
- 55:36scenario and weave it together for the
- 55:39good of those who love him. And he
- 55:42shouts to us in our pain. Bethany
- 55:44listened. And now when Bethany speaks,
- 55:46the world listens to her. She was quoted
- 55:48in an interview saying, "I wouldn't
- 55:50change what happened to me because
- 55:52there's no way I could reach this many
- 55:54people for Jesus with both of my arms."
- 55:57Like, wow. That's why I trust Christians
- 55:59who have bled in this life before, who
- 56:02have walked through serious pain and
- 56:04come out the other side more in love
- 56:06with God, like still still believing,
- 56:08still full of faith. I'm like, I'll let
- 56:10that person speak into my life any day
- 56:12cuz that's a faith that's been tested.
- 56:14That that's real. That is that's a
- 56:18beautiful testimony. But this is just
- 56:20hard for us as as as Americans because
- 56:23we are all about comfort, maximizing
- 56:26comfort, minimizing pain from the opioid
- 56:28epidemic all the way to memory foam
- 56:30pillows. And I get it. You know, I try
- 56:33to do the exact same thing. in. But do
- 56:35not fall for the easy to sell lie that
- 56:37Christianity is just a ticket to a
- 56:39pain-free life. It's not. You know,
- 56:43Jesus is the conquering king. He's the
- 56:46conquering lion who walked out of his
- 56:48tomb having conquered death on Sunday.
- 56:51That was a resurrection, right? But
- 56:53Jesus is also the suffering lamb who two
- 56:58days before was crucified and betrayed
- 57:02and spat on and
- 57:05mocked and he is the he is the
- 57:09conquering line and in him there is
- 57:10healing and there is victory and in him
- 57:13you can do all things. And that is 100%
- 57:17true. But what's also true is he is the
- 57:20suffering lamb, the man of sorrows who
- 57:22is familiar with pain. And here's the
- 57:24thing, God will speak to you from both
- 57:27offices.
- 57:28He has an office
- 57:30and on the front door it says conquering
- 57:32lion and he will call you into that
- 57:35office to speak to you from that vantage
- 57:37point all the time.
- 57:39But God also has another office called
- 57:41suffering lamb.
- 57:43That's why we have a high priest who is
- 57:45familiar with pain, who can empathize
- 57:48with everything that we've gone through,
- 57:50and he has the ability to call us into
- 57:52that office and draw near to us in our
- 57:54struggle. That's why scripture says he
- 57:56counts every single one of our tears.
- 57:59And nothing is wasted with nothing's
- 58:03wasted with him. For two decades, I have
- 58:06had chronic head pain,
- 58:09daily headaches, and migraines that
- 58:12literally like take my breath away. I
- 58:15I've logged hundreds of them through the
- 58:18night on my living room floor just
- 58:20pulling at my hair trying to breathe
- 58:22through the pain. And you know what's
- 58:24interesting? I've had about a thousand
- 58:26people all over the world pray for
- 58:27healing.
- 58:29So far
- 58:31it hasn't happened. Comma yet. Sometimes
- 58:34it's important when you share your story
- 58:37to add comma yet at the end of what you
- 58:40said. And I can praise God now. Like my
- 58:44next time here, I believe I I'll I'll
- 58:46give you a praise report about the
- 58:47miracle of healing. I I really believe
- 58:49that with all of my heart and I'll be
- 58:50able to say on this platform, God is so
- 58:52good. But you want to know what might be
- 58:54even more powerful is right now before
- 58:56that's happened and I believe it's
- 58:58coming. But before it happens, I can
- 59:01stand up here and say, "God is so good
- 59:03and he is healer and I will get mine."
- 59:08Whether it's this life or in heaven
- 59:10forever,
- 59:12he is healer and he is he's so good. And
- 59:18until then, this is my testimony.
- 59:21Some of my most painful nights have been
- 59:23my closest I've ever had with Jesus.
- 59:27And while I would never choose it,
- 59:30I wouldn't change it.
- 59:33I don't think
- 59:36this is real life. You know,
- 59:39if you are in pain,
- 59:43and I think a lot of people are fighting
- 59:44battles in this room right now, this is
- 59:47varsity level what I'm about to say.
- 59:49Okay?
- 59:51Don't be too fixated on escaping pain
- 59:53that you fail to get something from it.
- 59:56Because the circumstances we often are
- 59:58just trying to change. God is trying to
- 59:59use those circumstances to change us.
- 1:00:04Don't be so quick to,
- 1:00:07you know, David said, "I walk through
- 1:00:08the valley." He doesn't sit down in the
- 1:00:11valley and throw a pity party and make
- 1:00:14camp here, but he also doesn't sprint
- 1:00:17through it. is that though I walk,
- 1:00:21every valley has one thing in common.
- 1:00:22They all end.
- 1:00:25And never will it be easier to hear
- 1:00:26God's voice than it is right now in the
- 1:00:28valley.
- 1:00:30And if you listen for his voice, he will
- 1:00:32shout to you in that struggle. And you
- 1:00:34will walk out of that valley stronger
- 1:00:37and better for it and closer to him and
- 1:00:39more mature and complete, lacking
- 1:00:42nothing. Like James chapter 1 says, like
- 1:00:44I said, varsity level, but you're up for
- 1:00:48it. You got royal blood coursing through
- 1:00:50your veins. You're made in the image of
- 1:00:52God. He will shout to you in the
- 1:00:55struggle. Amen.
- 1:00:57And then I'll finish right here. God
- 1:00:59speaks clearly to us when we're bored.
- 1:01:04And I think this has never been more
- 1:01:05timely because we have engineered
- 1:01:07boredom out of our lives. We're afraid
- 1:01:10of being bored.
- 1:01:12like we can't even wait in line at the
- 1:01:13grocery store without scrolling.
- 1:01:16We can't like we can't cook a meal
- 1:01:18without an episode on. It's almost like
- 1:01:20we're running away from being alone with
- 1:01:22ourselves. We've engineered boredom
- 1:01:25away. But there is something in your
- 1:01:27brain called the default mode network.
- 1:01:30And it's in when your brain is in this
- 1:01:31mode, that's when you get all your big
- 1:01:34epiphies about life. And if you've ever
- 1:01:35had any revelations about, oh my gosh,
- 1:01:37I'm supposed to go left and not right.
- 1:01:39I'm supposed to stay and not go where
- 1:01:41you've connected the dots where God has
- 1:01:44spoken to you. It's been when your brain
- 1:01:47is in the default mode network. But the
- 1:01:50reason those moments are happening fewer
- 1:01:52and farther in between for us is because
- 1:01:54your brain has to be bored to go into
- 1:01:58the default mode network. And we've
- 1:02:01engineered that out of our lives. It's
- 1:02:05we're praying for divine direction.
- 1:02:07We're like overstimulated all the time
- 1:02:10from right when we wake up in the
- 1:02:11morning asking God for would you speak
- 1:02:13to me? Would you give me peace? Would
- 1:02:15you? And I think he's like I would love
- 1:02:17to. There's nowhere in your life or in
- 1:02:19your mind for me to put it.
- 1:02:24I'll finish with this verse. Psalm
- 1:02:2646:10. You guys know this verse. Be
- 1:02:28still and know that I am God. The Hebrew
- 1:02:33word for be still is the word rafa. It
- 1:02:35means to be still, to stop, to cease. It
- 1:02:39means to be bored.
- 1:02:42For when you are bored, when you have
- 1:02:44those moments of stillness where you're
- 1:02:46not being stimulated and your brain does
- 1:02:48not have neurochemical fireworks every 5
- 1:02:51seconds,
- 1:02:53that you know that he is God, that you
- 1:02:56know what he's leading you to do next,
- 1:02:58that you can you can hear his voice. I
- 1:03:00think back to that word damama, that
- 1:03:02other Hebrew word, a still small voice.
- 1:03:06But you have to be still
- 1:03:09even for small moments of time in order
- 1:03:11to hear the still small voice of God.
- 1:03:17And the one way I have for you to do
- 1:03:19that,
- 1:03:21start your [music] day with scripture
- 1:03:22before your smartphone.
- 1:03:25I'm not saying go throw this in the
- 1:03:26lake. I'm saying there's a wise way to
- 1:03:29have a smartphone. But if [music] you
- 1:03:31think that your good intentions are good
- 1:03:33enough, you're fooling yourself.
- 1:03:36It takes living with intention. [music]
- 1:03:38It takes creating rituals and habits and
- 1:03:40systems in your life that are going to
- 1:03:42deliver the vision that you [music]
- 1:03:45have. Because 89% of Americans wake up
- 1:03:47in the morning and in the first eight
- 1:03:49minutes reach for this. And I'm a
- 1:03:51culprit. I get it. It's normal.
- 1:03:55I'm just saying what else is normal in
- 1:03:582026?
- 1:04:00Anxiety,
- 1:04:01depression,
- 1:04:03dumerism,
- 1:04:04feeling a sense of apathy, and feeling
- 1:04:07lost and depleted dopamine in our
- 1:04:09brains. And I could go on and list about
- 1:04:12a hundred things. My point is this. The
- 1:04:14last thing you want to be right now is
- 1:04:15normal. Don't be normal. Be weird.
- 1:04:19Scripture before your smartphone.
- 1:04:22When you read this in the morning, when
- 1:04:24you reach for scripture, even for 10
- 1:04:26minutes before you reach for your phone,
- 1:04:27you will find a God who's actually
- 1:04:29looking for you back.
- 1:04:32We reach for our phones. You know,
- 1:04:33babies are born looking for somebody who
- 1:04:36is looking for them. Babies are born,
- 1:04:39they go from the warmth of the womb and
- 1:04:41they pop out into this crazy cold world
- 1:04:43where they have trouble. And so, they
- 1:04:45look for somebody who's looking for
- 1:04:47them. Neurochemistry shows us that
- 1:04:49moment where a mom meets baby is as big
- 1:04:52a deal as it feels. And what they both
- 1:04:54feel is you're the one I've been looking
- 1:04:56for. The tragic irony according to
- 1:04:59Justin Whitmill early [music] is we
- 1:05:01reach for these in the morning because
- 1:05:03we are born a new into the world every
- 1:05:05morning
- 1:05:07and there's nobody looking for us.
- 1:05:11We look for the mercies of God. We look
- 1:05:14for some divine direction. and we look
- 1:05:16for somebody looking for us and all we
- 1:05:19see is this sort of blurry
- 1:05:21fractured [music]
- 1:05:22reflection of our own image.
- 1:05:28The tragic irony is in here in the words
- 1:05:32of this book, you will find a God who is
- 1:05:35who is looking [music] for you.
- 1:05:42Justin in that book talks about facial
- 1:05:44recognition as a spiritually revealing
- 1:05:46technology. Like we turn your gaze
- 1:05:47[music] to the screen and like a mother
- 1:05:49it lights up at your mere attention but
- 1:05:52there is no gaze to be returned. Just
- 1:05:54the strange blue glow of our own
- 1:05:56fractured reflections. And
- 1:06:02God has such good plans for your life.
- 1:06:04So much I want to say right now. He has
- 1:06:06such good plans for your life. He is a
- 1:06:08good God who is communicating to you all
- 1:06:11the time. We live in a world where it's
- 1:06:13impossible to be still.
- 1:06:16It's impossible to hear the gentle
- 1:06:18whisper.
- 1:06:20We think all the time, "God, I wish
- 1:06:22you'd be more clear. Whispers are clear
- 1:06:24when you're close."
- 1:06:26He's given you a God instinct. The sheep
- 1:06:29know the sound of the shepherd's voice,
- 1:06:33and it's in his presence. Even if you
- 1:06:35start your day, you start your day with
- 1:06:38scripture for 10 minutes, you will set
- 1:06:41your brain into a specific mode that it
- 1:06:43will be in for the rest of the day where
- 1:06:44I promise you, you will be more attuned
- 1:06:46to [music] the presence of God and the
- 1:06:48voice of God directing you and guiding
- 1:06:51you. In here
- 1:06:54you'll find all the world's ways,
- 1:06:58more anxiety and more apathy and more
- 1:07:01and all the while God is wanting to
- 1:07:03speak to you.
- 1:07:06Be still and know that he is the God of
- 1:07:09your life.
- 1:07:10He communicates through community. He
- 1:07:13shouts in the struggle
- 1:07:17and he draws so close to you [music]
- 1:07:19when you're actually bored for a few
- 1:07:21moments and you're still. So, I just
- 1:07:24want to do that right now as I know
- 1:07:25we're about to [music] worship to make
- 1:07:27room. I want to invite you in here to
- 1:07:29bow your head and close your eyes.
- 1:07:36And on purpose, I'm
- 1:07:39not going to say anything for about 20
- 1:07:41seconds.
- 1:07:44We so rarely get these moments.
- 1:08:09God, we make room in our lives. We make
- 1:08:11room in our schedules.
- 1:08:14We create [music] space in our brains,
- 1:08:16in our minds right now,
- 1:08:20for you to communicate, for you to
- 1:08:21speak.
- 1:08:25Promise to draw near to us as we draw
- 1:08:27near to you. So would you do just that
- 1:08:30in these final moments?
- 1:08:35Thank you for being a good dad with good
- 1:08:37plans for his kids. We trust you.
- 1:08:41guide us, [music] direct us, speak to us
- 1:08:46in Jesus name. Amen.
- 1:08:50>> Come on church, let's stand [music] to
- 1:08:51our feet and let's end our service of
- 1:08:53worship.
- 1:08:55>> I will make room [music]
- 1:08:58for you
- 1:09:01[singing]
- 1:09:02to do whatever you want to. [music]
- 1:09:07to do whatever [singing] you want to.
- 1:09:11I'll make room
- 1:09:14for you [music]
- 1:09:17[singing]
- 1:09:18to do whatever you want to [music]
- 1:09:22to do whatever you want to [singing]
- 1:09:27cuz I will make room [music] for you
- 1:09:34to do whatever [music and singing] you
- 1:09:36want to
- 1:09:38to do whatever you want do.
- 1:09:43Yes, I [music and singing] will make
- 1:09:44room for you,
- 1:09:47Jesus,
- 1:09:50[music] to do whatever [singing] you
- 1:09:52want to.
- 1:09:54To do whatever you want [music] to.
- 1:10:00So shake up the ground [singing] of all
- 1:10:02my tradition. Break down the [music]
- 1:10:05walls of all my religion. You're always
- 1:10:09there.
- 1:10:12You're always there. [music]
- 1:10:16Shake up the ground of all my [music]
- 1:10:19tradition. Break down the wall of all my
- 1:10:23religion. [singing]
- 1:10:24You're always there.
- 1:10:28You're always [music and singing]
- 1:10:29there.
- 1:10:31I will make room for you
- 1:10:37[music]
- 1:10:38to do whatever [singing] you want to
- 1:10:42[music] to do whatever you want to.
- 1:10:47Yes, I [music] will make [singing] room
- 1:10:50for you.
- 1:10:52You
- 1:10:55to do whatever [singing]
- 1:10:56you want [music] to
- 1:10:59to do whatever you want to.
- 1:11:04[music]
- 1:11:06>> Come on, let's give the Lord a hand of
- 1:11:08praise today. Yeah. Give him [music]
- 1:11:10praise in this place.
- 1:11:13Man, what a powerful powerful message.
- 1:11:15Could we show our appreciation to Pastor
- 1:11:17Doug? Man, wasn't that so good?
- 1:11:20Amazing message.

- 1:11:29opportunity to pray for you. So, I'm
