2. 0:01commission for two companies uh this
3. 0:03summer going to senior year, deciding
4. 0:04between big tech sales and building
5. 0:06sales firm from post grad.
6. 0:08Um I'll give you a piece of advice,
7. 0:10Sean. I think that you'd be better
8. 0:12served trying to find a product that has
9. 0:15very low churn, that benefits from
10. 0:17outbound sales,
11. 0:19and taking your sales experience,
12. 0:21instead of thinking, "Oh, I know how to
13. 0:22sell. I'll either sell for somebody or
14. 0:24I'll create a sales firm."
15. 0:26Just go find a product to sell.
16. 0:28There's a lot of different products that
17. 0:29are out there that you don't have to
18. 0:30like build, right? Um you can get into
19. 0:32insurance. You can get into, you know,
20. 0:34you can get into banking. You can get
21. 0:36into
22. 0:37uh M&A. You can get into recruiting,
23. 0:39right? There's lots of different
24. 0:40businesses that are kind of sales
25. 0:41oriented that have Recruiting isn't
26. 0:43sticky, but the customers are sticky if
27. 0:44they're big enough. Um
28. 0:46where you can create something that's
29. 0:47very valuable with that core skill. Um
30. 0:50also, you could sell You could sell pest
31. 0:51control. You could sell alarm systems.
32. 0:53All of these things are sales oriented,
33. 0:55and you just basically, you know, you
34. 0:57just go find the product and install it.
35. 0:59Um which is not that complicated of a
36. 1:01business to do, and you'll get you'll
37. 1:02capture a significantly larger portion
38. 1:04of the upside than just doing like a
39. 1:06sales agency, which I promise you, like
40. 1:08it's not going to be as good as you
41. 1:09think it is. I have yet to see any sales
42. 1:11agency get above maybe a million a
43. 1:13month, and it's just because it's too
44. 1:14painful, right? Anybody who's big enough
45. 1:16brings it in house
46. 1:18uh because it's too expensive to
47. 1:19outsource, and sales is such a core part
48. 1:21of the business. You're going to be
49. 1:21dealing with minnows who suck at sales,
50. 1:23and you're going to want to fix every
51. 1:24part of their business, and that's not
52. 1:25the business you're going to want to be
53. 1:26in.
