  1. 0:00There is one key habit that creates an
  2. 0:02attractive face and also maintains it,
  3. 0:05tongue posture. The single most
  4. 0:07important thing that I believe anyone
  5. 0:08can do for their health, their looks, or
  6. 0:10their life in general. It sounds like an
  7. 0:12exaggeration, but I'm about to explain
  8. 0:13to you why it isn't and hopefully I'm
  9. 0:15about to blow your mind. Firstly, we
  10. 0:16need to understand that the tongue quite
  11. 0:18literally shapes your entire face and a
  12. 0:20lot of your breathing. When the tongue
  13. 0:22applies pressure onto the face, you
  14. 0:24shift the maxilla, the bone in the
  15. 0:25middle of your face, upwards and
  16. 0:26forwards, allowing the entire face to
  17. 0:28rotate upwards and forwards. Meaning the
  18. 0:30nose becomes straighter, the jaw comes
  19. 0:32forward, the eyes have more support, the
  20. 0:34cheekbones are wider. All of these
  21. 0:35individual features we find attractive
  22. 0:38and put on a pedestal are purely because
  23. 0:39we have better tongue posture cuz tongue
  24. 0:41posture is a sign of health. The second
  25. 0:44point with tongue posture is that it
  26. 0:45shapes your palate. And if it shapes
  27. 0:47your palate, your palate is a direct
  28. 0:49gateway to your breath. Your breath is
  29. 0:50the foundation of all of your life and
  30. 0:52living. So, if you improve your tongue
  31. 0:53posture and you maintain it on the roof
  32. 0:55of the mouth, the palate becomes a bit
  33. 0:57wider because the tongue can [music]
  34. 0:58apply 600 g of force and it takes us in
  35. 1:0020 g of force to move a tooth and that's
  36. 1:03regardless of age. And even if you think
  37. 1:05you have your tongue on the roof of the
  38. 1:06mouth right now, I guarantee that nearly
  39. 1:08everyone will have a tongue [music] tie,
  40. 1:10you'll have slouch posture from sitting
  41. 1:11on your phone. And so, no matter how
  42. 1:12attractive or healthy someone thinks
  43. 1:14they are or if it's the opposite where
  44. 1:16you think you have loads of issues that
  45. 1:17can't [music] be fixed naturally, well,
  46. 1:19this is for everyone because it is
  47. 1:21nature. We are all meant to be healthy
  48. 1:22and attractive. It is as simple as that.
  49. 1:24So, don't be limited with your mind.
  50. 1:25>> [music]
  51. 1:25>> So, let's get into the first key
  52. 1:27solution before we understand the tongue
  53. 1:29better. The first key solution is fixing
  54. 1:31our swallowing. We swallow 650 plus
  55. 1:33times per day. Each time our tongue
  56. 1:35should be suctioning to the roof of the
  57. 1:36mouth and sweeping the food back. But
  58. 1:38nearly everyone slightly hunches over or
  59. 1:40sits on a chair while they eat and as a
  60. 1:42result engage the muscles [music] in
  61. 1:43their cheeks and face, meaning the
  62. 1:45tongue doesn't suction properly and it
  63. 1:47negatively affects tongue posture. And
  64. 1:48by the way, this is how you begin
  65. 1:50[music] to understand that tongue
  66. 1:51posture isn't genetic. It is natural and
  67. 1:53it should be the same for everyone. But
  68. 1:54when we use pacifiers, when we suck our
  69. 1:57thumbs, when we chew soft food, all of
  70. 1:58these things eventually accumulate. So,
  71. 2:00this isn't about genetics. This is
  72. 2:01possible for anyone at any age. So,
  73. 2:03firstly, we're going to re-correct our
  74. 2:05swallowing. In order to swallow
  75. 2:06correctly, I want you to look at this
  76. 2:08painting of Mona Lisa. What is the
  77. 2:09correlation here, you may be asking?
  78. 2:11Well, let me explain it to you, my
  79. 2:13friend. But, the most important thing is
  80. 2:14that Mona Lisa is staring straight at
  81. 2:16us. She is deadpan, and she is serious.
  82. 2:18[music]
  83. 2:18And this is what I want you to imagine
  84. 2:20every time you swallow. You want to be
  85. 2:22completely focused, only using your
  86. 2:24tongue to suck food, and not moving any
  87. 2:26of the muscles in your face. You
  88. 2:28shouldn't even be able to notice that
  89. 2:29someone is swallowing when they do it.
  90. 2:31Videos are on the screen. But, one quick
  91. 2:33tip that I've never said before, which
  92. 2:35I'd highly recommend, if you really want
  93. 2:36to fix your swallowing, you can't just
  94. 2:38know the proper technique while still
  95. 2:39sitting in a chair hunched over. I'd
  96. 2:41highly recommend trying sitting on the
  97. 2:43floor while you eat, sitting in seiza
  98. 2:45position on the ground. This will allow
  99. 2:47you to have proper posture. It will also
  100. 2:49allow the hips to be back, and allow you
  101. 2:50to be back chain dominant. If you know,
  102. 2:52you know. And as a result, you'll
  103. 2:54swallow better naturally. Plus, you'll
  104. 2:56be conscious of the form, because you're
  105. 2:57imagining Mona Lisa. And this is a huge
  106. 2:59development for everyone if this is
  107. 3:01possible. And very quickly, an even more
  108. 3:03important point is that if you don't
  109. 3:04know who I am, my name is Oscar Patel. I
  110. 3:06transformed myself from this to this,
  111. 3:08naturally fixing my health and looks.
  112. 3:09Now, we currently have the largest
  113. 3:11health-based paid community in the
  114. 3:12world, helping spread awareness, and
  115. 3:13helping people transform themselves
  116. 3:15naturally, feel better, look better, and
  117. 3:17just crush it in every aspect of life. I
  118. 3:18transformed my own mother. I transformed
  119. 3:20my sister. Transformed thousands of
  120. 3:22other people from all ages, 20 to 85.
  121. 3:25Men, women, young, old, everyone can
  122. 3:27take action. And I really believe that
  123. 3:29everyone should. So, if you'd like more
  124. 3:30information, you can check out the
  125. 3:31community. Link is in the description.
  126. 3:32You can scan the QR code on the screen.
  127. 3:34You don't have to, but I'd appreciate
  128. 3:35it. Now, without further ado, we get
  129. 3:37back into the second point. The second
  130. 3:38point is body posture. You can imagine
  131. 3:40that if you're hunched over like this,
  132. 3:41you cannot have your tongue on the roof
  133. 3:42of the mouth. If you put your head back
  134. 3:44like this, hunch over, and try to have
  135. 3:45the tongue on the roof of the mouth,
  136. 3:46[music] it becomes nearly impossible to
  137. 3:48get the back part of your tongue onto
  138. 3:50the back part of the palate. This is
  139. 3:51because your body is one interconnected
  140. 3:53system. And it's even deeper than that.
  141. 3:55We have different fascial lines going
  142. 3:57throughout our body. So, for example,
  143. 3:59your tongue is connected to the rest of
  144. 4:01your body like your rib cage and pelvis
  145. 4:03through the deep frontal line. And this
  146. 4:05is why if you properly suction your
  147. 4:06tongue to the roof of the mouth, it not
  148. 4:07only do you look better facially, but
  149. 4:09your posture improves, your breathing
  150. 4:11improves, and everything else. That is
  151. 4:12why I say that it's the number one thing
  152. 4:14because it's connected to many other
  153. 4:16parts of your body. [music] It's even
  154. 4:17connected all the way down to your feet.
  155. 4:19So, if your feet turn out while you
  156. 4:21walk, if you fix your tongue posture,
  157. 4:23you'll be more likely to walk straight,
  158. 4:24fix your knee pain, and move better. So,
  159. 4:26if we're going to address our body
  160. 4:27posture to fix our tongue posture, two
  161. 4:30quick things. I'd like everyone to take
  162. 4:31a ball, a tennis ball if you have one, a
  163. 4:33fascial ball, that'd be amazing, and
  164. 4:35roll out the area just below the rib
  165. 4:37cages, lie on the floor, and roll that
  166. 4:38area out. That's deeply connected to the
  167. 4:40deep frontal line. Secondly, I would
  168. 4:42like you to take a gua sha or just use
  169. 4:44[music] your fingers and some oil and
  170. 4:45massage around your upper chest, neck,
  171. 4:48and back of neck area to get the lymph
  172. 4:51moving. This will target one aspect, and
  173. 4:53the second aspect is changing our
  174. 4:55baseline posture. The best way to do
  175. 4:57this is spending more time on the
  176. 4:58ground. That is 100% certainty.
  177. 5:01Everything we do in the modern world,
  178. 5:02soft mattresses, chairs, has been
  179. 5:03pushing our body out of alignment. If we
  180. 5:05sit on the ground more, it will
  181. 5:06encourage fascial loading, and it will
  182. 5:08allow the body to be in balance. If
  183. 5:10[music] it feels tense or sore spending
  184. 5:11more than 30 minutes on the ground, then
  185. 5:13that is just an indicator just how out
  186. 5:15of touch you've become with your body.
  187. 5:17And this isn't an age thing. No matter
  188. 5:18how old we are, we should always be able
  189. 5:20to do this. Here are some of the easiest
  190. 5:22positions you can try to spend more
  191. 5:23[music] time on the floor, and I will
  192. 5:24definitely make a more in-depth video on
  193. 5:26this topic in the future. And I'm just
  194. 5:27about to upload a new routine on this
  195. 5:29into the school community. So, again, if
  196. 5:31you'd like to check that out, link is in
  197. 5:32the description. So, now you understand
  198. 5:34that the tongue not only is responsible
  199. 5:35for developing the face upwards and
  200. 5:36forwards, it is connected to our
  201. 5:38swallowing, it's connected to our body
  202. 5:40posture, and you need to understand it's
  203. 5:42also connected to a lot of other
  204. 5:44systems. It's been It's that if you put
  205. 5:45your tongue on the roof of the mouth, it
  206. 5:47shifts your heart rate variability, it
  207. 5:48makes you calmer, it shifts you into a
  208. 5:50parasympathetic state. You literally
  209. 5:52become less stressed when you do this.
  210. 5:54Equally, you will sleep much better
  211. 5:56because if you don't have the tongue on
  212. 5:57the roof of the mouth, you won't be able
  213. 5:58to have proper neck posture, and your
  214. 6:00breathing gets [music] distorted. That's
  215. 6:02why a lot of people who mouth breathe
  216. 6:03can't have their tongues as easily on
  217. 6:05the roof of the mouth. And this happens
  218. 6:06as people get older, again, cuz we spend
  219. 6:08more time sleeping on soft mattresses
  220. 6:10and our body becomes out of balance. And
  221. 6:12when our body becomes out of balance,
  222. 6:13our tongue falls off of the roof [music]
  223. 6:14of the mouth. So, the final quick point
  224. 6:16I'd like everyone to try, and if you're
  225. 6:17still watching this video, I appreciate
  226. 6:19you. This is very worthwhile, is
  227. 6:21understanding these two little nuances
  228. 6:22about the tongue. Firstly, it's linked
  229. 6:24to tension in the face. So, if you have
  230. 6:25upward tension in the face, it becomes
  231. 6:27easier to have your tongue on the roof
  232. 6:28of the mouth. Equally, if you have your
  233. 6:30tongue on the roof of the mouth, you
  234. 6:31naturally have more upward tension in
  235. 6:32your face, which your eye cheek bones go
  236. 6:34out, etc. And secondly, we have tongue
  237. 6:36ties, which are restricted bits of
  238. 6:37fascia, which over time can become a lot
  239. 6:40worse for people if we don't use our
  240. 6:41tongue properly. So, what I'd recommend
  241. 6:43everyone doing to address that is taking
  242. 6:45a towel and literally just stretching
  243. 6:47the tongue forward, going slowly, trying
  244. 6:49to maintain proper body posture, trying
  245. 6:51to relax your nervous system. Again, you
  246. 6:53can't just yank and force these things.
  247. 6:55Your body needs to respond properly, and
  248. 6:57it needs to learn new patterns. So, you
  249. 6:58need to go slowly,
  250. 7:00try and be present, try and engage your
  251. 7:01nervous system. Hold it for 10 seconds
  252. 7:03to the front, 10 to the left, 10 to the
  253. 7:05right. And then you can accompany this
  254. 7:06with upward tension by sleeping every
  255. 7:08night with zygo tape, which will
  256. 7:09naturally push your tongue on the roof
  257. 7:11of the mouth. Also, make sure you're
  258. 7:12sleeping on your side. If you do all of
  259. 7:14that, you'll fix your tongue posture the
  260. 7:15real way by looking at the body as a
  261. 7:17system rather than just looking at one
  262. 7:19individual part. And you can see in my
  263. 7:21before and afters just how clear this
  264. 7:23is. My tongue literally expanded my
  265. 7:25palate, opened up my airways, and
  266. 7:27changed my life. And I'm so confident it
  267. 7:29can fix so many issues for so many
  268. 7:30people. If you'd like more
  269. 7:32accountability, some routines, [music]
  270. 7:33and to get into this properly because
  271. 7:34you know that after seeing this video,
  272. 7:36you may not actually take action, you
  273. 7:38can join the community. I'm sure you
  274. 7:39won't regret it. But have an amazing
  275. 7:40day. Thank you for watching, and
  276. 7:41remember, health is looks.
