  2. 0:14hello we need a video in 3 days it'll be
  3. 0:17a challenge a challenge I'm always down
  4. 0:20for a
  5. 0:20[Music]
  6. 0:26challenge you see Cinema has always been
  7. 0:29a passion of mine telling a story in a
  8. 0:31way that allow others to feel connected
  9. 0:32and inspired by what they're seeing and
  10. 0:34the real secret to capturing cinematic
  11. 0:36shots happened way before we ever pick
  12. 0:38up a camera wait
  13. 0:43really you see most people think the
  14. 0:45best cinematography happens with the
  15. 0:47best equipment but that's not
  16. 0:49necessarily true the best cinematography
  17. 0:52happens here with our ideas I find
  18. 0:55myself coming up with ideas seemingly
  19. 0:57all the time and while not every idea is
  20. 1:00good I still write it down from there
  21. 1:02I'll list them all out and try to find
  22. 1:04one I really like and that becomes my
  23. 1:07story once we have the story line it's
  24. 1:09time to start writing the video I like
  25. 1:10to give myself as much time as possible
  26. 1:12when writing I like to break my videos
  27. 1:14into Parts listing the title and the
  28. 1:16duration while writing I don't make sure
  29. 1:18it's all polished I allow myself freedom
  30. 1:20to write without
  31. 1:22criticism and sometimes without any
  32. 1:25warning I find myself getting
  33. 1:28stuck I like to take a step back remove
  34. 1:31myself from the project it allows my
  35. 1:33mind to get a fresh perspective and a
  36. 1:35little bit of a rest sometimes in the
  37. 1:37mist of writing and working on projects
  38. 1:39we forget why we're doing this in the
  39. 1:41first place as artists we can find
  40. 1:43ourselves taking information in from
  41. 1:45every direction I like removing myself
  42. 1:47and simply enjoying what's around me wow
  43. 1:51what a view and just like that I'm
  44. 1:54feeling inspired
  45. 1:57again to write the best stories it's
  46. 1:59important to to stay true to who you are
  47. 2:01finding inspiration is great but your
  48. 2:03story can only be told by you when I
  49. 2:04find things that inspire me I like to
  50. 2:06ask why and figure out how my story
  51. 2:08could fit within that inspiration I'm
  52. 2:10inspired by cinematographers like Sam
  53. 2:12CER right here and gaw right there as
  54. 2:15well as musicians like Fred again and
  55. 2:18Bona I also find inspiration from
  56. 2:21artists like Anthony Bourdain and Wes
  57. 2:23Anderson they all have one thing in
  58. 2:25common they make you feel an emotion
  59. 2:28emotion cannot live without a story
  60. 2:30and a story cannot live without emotion
  61. 2:32in creating cinematic visuals it's
  62. 2:34important we align our visuals with our
  63. 2:35story the best cinematographers will
  64. 2:37connect how they want you to feel with
  65. 2:39what you're
  66. 2:43seeing and to accomplish this there's a
  67. 2:45few rules we can follow before we start
  68. 2:48filming it's important to have two
  69. 2:50things the first thing that we need is a
  70. 2:52shot list this will keep us on track
  71. 2:55during our filming process the second
  72. 2:57gummy
  73. 2:58bears okay back back to it once these
  74. 3:00are done it's time to turn the camera on
  75. 3:03capture the most cinematic shots I like
  76. 3:04to create sequences great shots are ones
  77. 3:06that find a connection through the
  78. 3:07timeline first we need a wide shot or an
  79. 3:10establishing shot this gives the
  80. 3:12audience a perspective of where the
  81. 3:14subject is from there we can do a medium
  82. 3:16close-up which introduces the subject to
  83. 3:19the audience I then like to do an
  84. 3:20extreme closeup which will guide the
  85. 3:22audience to the action being done from
  86. 3:24there we can get creative we can walk
  87. 3:27into Focus or do an overhead shot we can
  88. 3:30also add Movement Like a pull in or a
  89. 3:32push out adding motion blur will enhance
  90. 3:34the emotion handheld can be used to
  91. 3:36allow the audience to feel the movement
  92. 3:38of the subject while using the static
  93. 3:39shot to help slow things down and more
  94. 3:42important than all of that lighting I
  95. 3:46use the sunset lamp to add contrast
  96. 3:48using stronger lights to light the
  97. 3:50subject Bluetooth RGB which allows me to
  98. 3:53change the color and the projector we
  99. 3:55can add warm light to make the scene
  100. 3:57happier and cooler light to make it more
  101. 3:59sad we can use backlight to create a
  102. 4:01silhouette while using a spotlight will
  103. 4:03help focus on one thing cinematography
  104. 4:05is all about connecting your visuals and
  105. 4:07your lighting with the story that you're
  106. 4:09trying to
  107. 4:10[Music]
  108. 4:18tell and once we're done filming it's
  109. 4:21time to import our footage I edit and
  110. 4:23Premiere Pro and D Vinci res for Endless
  111. 4:26Possibilities editing is all about trial
  112. 4:28and error the more you do the more you
  113. 4:30learn and there's no rules to editing
  114. 4:32it's all about Rhythm the Rhythm will be
  115. 4:34dictated by the music you choose music
  116. 4:36has the ability to transport your
  117. 4:38audience anywhere you want them to go we
  118. 4:40could find ourselves in the busyness of
  119. 4:42Tokyo or walking down the coast
  120. 4:45ultimately music will play a vital role
  121. 4:47in how we interpret what we see while
  122. 4:49music plays a great role so do the
  123. 4:51sounds we hear every
  124. 4:54day sound design can take your videos
  125. 4:56from good to Great an overlaying natur
  126. 4:59natural sounds into the video will give
  127. 5:01it an immersive
  128. 5:02[Music]
  129. 5:04feel which finally leaves us with color
  130. 5:07grading color grading will give your
  131. 5:08video its unique
  132. 5:13[Music]
  133. 5:14look and there's dozens of ways to color
