  1. 0:00So 2025 is about to end and 2026 is
  2. 0:04literally a couple of weeks away. But
  3. 0:06I'm going to make a hunch that you
  4. 0:07haven't changed much since last year or
  5. 0:11last last year. You probably set a bunch
  6. 0:13of goals, but then you realize that you
  7. 0:16haven't really pushed through with them
  8. 0:18and now it's another year. And just like
  9. 0:20every end of the year, everyone is going
  10. 0:23to be on their winter arc. You're going
  11. 0:25to change.
  12. 0:25>> This is going to be the year. But
  13. 0:27>> how do you actually make it the year?
  14. 0:29How do you actually change and not make
  15. 0:32it like every other year? Well, in this
  16. 0:34video, I will go through an actual
  17. 0:36actionable plan that you can follow. Not
  18. 0:39just having some random fantasy plan,
  19. 0:42but can actually take you from a regular
  20. 0:44new year to an actual transformative
  21. 0:48year for you. And I'm not just talking
  22. 0:50about getting your grades to the next
  23. 0:51level, but even your fitness, your
  24. 0:53social skills, your everything. You're
  25. 0:55literally going to be a new person. even
  26. 0:57learning stuff like computer science,
  27. 0:59math in your free time because that's
  28. 1:02right, this video is in partnership with
  29. 1:04Brilliant because I genuinely think that
  30. 1:06they are a company that I would fully
  31. 1:08endorse when it comes to becoming an
  32. 1:10actual polymath. Basically, becoming
  33. 1:13that student that knows everything, has
  34. 1:16your life together, fitness, whatever
  35. 1:17that. So, with that being said, let's
  36. 1:20start your 2026 glow up plan starting
  37. 1:24with the plan. Now, I want to specify
  38. 1:27and I want this to be clear. You need to
  39. 1:29spend the least amount of time with the
  40. 1:31plan. And this is why I'm starting this
  41. 1:33video with the plan immediately because
  42. 1:35nothing will change if you put most of
  43. 1:37your energy into the planning into the
  44. 1:39planning of I will do this and that.
  45. 1:41Okay, every day I'm going to do this and
  46. 1:42that. I'm going to make a system blah
  47. 1:44blah blah. like you're just you're just
  48. 1:45going to waste your time instead of
  49. 1:46taking action. Because you can watch as
  50. 1:49many self-help videos about changing
  51. 1:51your life or you can read as many books
  52. 1:53as you want, but if you don't get up and
  53. 1:55actually do the work, you are not going
  54. 1:58to go anywhere. You're not doing
  55. 1:59anything. Granted, reading those books
  56. 2:01and watching those videos can change
  57. 2:03your mindset in a way, but it's so
  58. 2:05pointless. Like, I swear it's so
  59. 2:07pointless if you're going to do
  60. 2:08everything and you're just not going to
  61. 2:10do the thing. So, forget about setting
  62. 2:12an intricate plan or a system or
  63. 2:14routine. Because what I want you to do
  64. 2:16if you want to change and glow up for
  65. 2:18this 2026 is to literally just start
  66. 2:21doing. Focus 80% of your energy on the
  67. 2:25doing and 20% on the planning. Stop
  68. 2:27thinking about optimizing everything.
  69. 2:30Just do it. You should only worry about
  70. 2:33optimization when you're already at the
  71. 2:35peak of your performance. But I'm going
  72. 2:36to go on a limb and say you're not even
  73. 2:38consistent with the habits you want to
  74. 2:41start with. So why are you already
  75. 2:43thinking about doing the optimal thing
  76. 2:45doing this and that. You just have to
  77. 2:46get out and do it. If you want to start
  78. 2:48working out, just start working out.
  79. 2:50Don't think about optimizing the best
  80. 2:53time to work out, thinking about how to
  81. 2:55fit it to your schedule. You don't have
  82. 2:57to worry about that right now. The
  83. 2:58moment you have free time, just tell
  84. 3:00yourself, "Okay, I'm going to work out."
  85. 3:02This is the exact mindset that I've been
  86. 3:04having for the past couple months. And I
  87. 3:07don't even stick to a very strict
  88. 3:08schedule anymore because every time I do
  89. 3:10have a free time in my day, I just tell
  90. 3:12myself, "Okay, I'll get up and I'll just
  91. 3:14go to the gym." I don't schedule things
  92. 3:16anymore because I just try to do as much
  93. 3:19as I can. Probably a lot of people get
  94. 3:21stuck spending all their time planning,
  95. 3:23organizing, but they just never do the
  96. 3:25thing that they have to do. So, the plan
  97. 3:28I'm telling you is to not have a plan.
  98. 3:31You can have a plan later, but the plan
  99. 3:32right now is just go. Do you have free
  100. 3:35time? Go study. If you have free time,
  101. 3:38go work out.
  102. 3:39>> But Kai, I don't have a plan. How am I
  103. 3:41supposed to start this glow up if I
  104. 3:43don't have a plan or direction?
  105. 3:45>> Well, let me introduce you to the next
  106. 3:47step, which is the ideal self
  107. 3:49philosophy. Basically, as humans, we're
  108. 3:51naturally driven towards specific goals.
  109. 3:53I mean, I think we can all agree in
  110. 3:55that. And especially in the
  111. 3:56self-improvement area, we all have an
  112. 3:58ideal version of ourselves in our heads.
  113. 4:01I think most of us in our lives are just
  114. 4:02trying to become that specific person
  115. 4:05that we want. So instead of focusing on
  116. 4:07a plan of like, okay, I'm going to work
  117. 4:09out in this amount of times per week on
  118. 4:12a specific schedule. I want you to try
  119. 4:14and think about what your ideal self
  120. 4:16would be doing every single day. And the
  121. 4:18reason why I want you to think about
  122. 4:20this is because you need to start having
  123. 4:22a sort of direction to why you are doing
  124. 4:25all this because I can tell you to
  125. 4:27create a system, but then if you don't
  126. 4:28feel like it matches your values, then
  127. 4:31what's the point? You're just going to
  128. 4:32end up not doing it after a couple
  129. 4:34months. Consistency comes from
  130. 4:37congruency. If whatever you're doing
  131. 4:39matches your goals and your values,
  132. 4:41you'll find yourself doing them in a
  133. 4:43long term rather than a sudden burst of
  134. 4:46motivation. For example, my ideal self
  135. 4:48would be someone who's active, someone
  136. 4:50who work out, someone who works out
  137. 4:53every day, engaged in his hobbies, doing
  138. 4:56well in school, staying consistent on
  139. 4:57YouTube, and balancing his social life.
  140. 5:00And I'm kind of happy to say that I'm
  141. 5:02almost there, but I do still have plenty
  142. 5:04of work to do. And that's the thing,
  143. 5:05chasing your ideal self is a neverending
  144. 5:09pursuit. The point of an ideal self is
  145. 5:12to give you direction. For example, I'm
  146. 5:15currently recording this video and that
  147. 5:16is literally what my ideal self would
  148. 5:18do. He would be recording his YouTube
  149. 5:20channel and he'll be consistent with
  150. 5:22uploading content so that he doesn't
  151. 5:23miss an upload every week. Or another
  152. 5:26example of an ideal self of mine is that
  153. 5:28he would study four to 5 hours
  154. 5:30intensively every day consistently. And
  155. 5:33I'm still working towards that even
  156. 5:34though at times, you know, it's kind of
  157. 5:36hard to really balance everything as
  158. 5:38I've been doing so much for the past few
  159. 5:40days. Um, but the point is that I'm
  160. 5:42trying to get to that goal slowly. The
  161. 5:45point is trying to get there. The point
  162. 5:47is not being there. The point is trying
  163. 5:49to go to that specific ideal self.
  164. 5:52Notice that I'm not setting a rigid
  165. 5:54standard of having to do XYZ every day
  166. 5:56because of my ideal self. It's more of
  167. 6:00doing what I can right now and moving to
  168. 6:03that direction. Another perfect example
  169. 6:04is that I've been using Brilliant
  170. 6:06recently to study computer science. I've
  171. 6:07been very interested in that topic even
  172. 6:09though my whole course career is in
  173. 6:12medicine. And that's because I kind of
  174. 6:14have a future project that I have
  175. 6:15working in my head. And that's the
  176. 6:17thing. I'm not expecting myself. Okay,
  177. 6:19I'm going to finish this project in a
  178. 6:22couple days. No, I'm just trying to show
  179. 6:24up every day by studying more computer
  180. 6:26science. And this project is something I
  181. 6:28hope to launch in the near future. I'm
  182. 6:30not ready to talk about this yet because
  183. 6:31I want to make this a little secret, but
  184. 6:33I just want to tell you that using
  185. 6:35Brilliant, I was able to understand the
  186. 6:37fundamental concepts of computer science
  187. 6:39and coding first. And even though I
  188. 6:41didn't learn CS overnight, doing those
  189. 6:43practice problems with Brilliant just
  190. 6:45helps me show up every day step by step.
  191. 6:48And because Brilliant offers a
  192. 6:50convenient way to learn subjects like
  193. 6:51science and math and CS, I don't
  194. 6:53pressure myself to complete a set number
  195. 6:55of lessons every day. I just tell myself
  196. 6:58I'll do what I can every day. And so
  197. 7:01far, it's been working really, really
  198. 7:03well. I've been completing lessons on my
  199. 7:06phone, whether that be on the go or
  200. 7:08outside. And I'm always surprised how
  201. 7:10straightforward learning computer
  202. 7:12science and programming has been with
  203. 7:14Brilliant. Again, normally I'm not
  204. 7:16someone who likes passive learning, so
  205. 7:18that's why I really like how Brilliant
  206. 7:20makes you solve problems instead of just
  207. 7:22letting you learn the topic itself. They
  208. 7:25actually let you interact with these
  209. 7:27problems and as well as as well as
  210. 7:30motivating you forward and encouraging
  211. 7:32as well step by step. Even Brilliant has
  212. 7:35your own progression system in real
  213. 7:36life. Like literally, it's giving me a
  214. 7:38good foundation of CS and programming.
  215. 7:40And because of that, I it teaches me how
  216. 7:42to do logic, ensuring correctness and
  217. 7:43efficiency. And that all came from just
  218. 7:46doing problems 10 minutes a day. Like
  219. 7:48I'm not even trying to push myself to do
  220. 7:51an hour every day. I just want to show
  221. 7:53up and do these brilliant problems. And
  222. 7:55it even came to a point where I could
  223. 7:57imagine vibe coders or basically people
  224. 8:00who use AI could confidently use this
  225. 8:02course as well to really refresh their
  226. 8:05CS knowledge. What I'm trying to say is
  227. 8:07that instead of trying to really just
  228. 8:09push yourself at one point, what really
  229. 8:12matters is showing up every day, you
  230. 8:14just have to do little by little every
  231. 8:15day and trust me, your progress will
  232. 8:18skyrocket. And now this is literally the
  233. 8:21final step. And I'm not even joking.
  234. 8:23Literally, this video is just three
  235. 8:24steps. I promise this is the last one
  236. 8:26because I don't want to make this video
  237. 8:28way too complicated because glowing up
  238. 8:29is actually not that complicated because
  239. 8:32people who focus on less actually
  240. 8:35achieve more. If you really want to glow
  241. 8:37up or if you want to change, then you
  242. 8:39need to find a way to track your
  243. 8:40progress, which is why you need to also
  244. 8:43track. This is to make sure that you're
  245. 8:44actually setting in the right direction
  246. 8:46and to be productive with your actions.
  247. 8:48And this is kind of where optimization
  248. 8:50could sort of come in once you have a
  249. 8:52good rhythm with your habits and pretty
  250. 8:54much try to do what you can every day.
  251. 8:56If you're able to do that, we can start
  252. 8:58talking about optimization. So, for
  253. 9:00example, in my CS course, since
  254. 9:02Brilliant is structured as a course in a
  255. 9:04fun way, it also pretty much shows me
  256. 9:06where I am in terms of progress, which
  257. 9:08gives me motivation to push me forward.
  258. 9:10And the good thing about Brilliant is
  259. 9:12that since they know that I'm an actual
  260. 9:14beginner in this field, it essentially
  261. 9:16just personalizes my pace. So, it starts
  262. 9:19me on the right level based on my
  263. 9:21background, which is, you know,
  264. 9:22literally zero background. And I just
  265. 9:24started real slow as well. And that is
  266. 9:26also what I want everyone to take away
  267. 9:28from this progress. I know this is a
  268. 9:30sponsored video, but I really want you
  269. 9:32guys to just take it slow. I'm telling
  270. 9:36you, glowing up takes time. Most
  271. 9:39influencers will say you could glow up
  272. 9:41in 60 days, in 30 days. I'm going to
  273. 9:43tell you, you can't. You can't just
  274. 9:44expect instant results. Because the
  275. 9:46thing about glowing up is that you also
  276. 9:48have to change yourself. And by doing
  277. 9:50small steps every day and if you stick
  278. 9:52it consistently, you know, just showing
  279. 9:54up every day, you will create lasting
  280. 9:58change because progress just doesn't
  281. 10:00happen overnight. It really does not.
  282. 10:02You have to keep going. You have to keep
  283. 10:04showing up. When you show up each time,
  284. 10:06slowly your values start to change as a
  285. 10:09human being. you start glowing up takes
  286. 10:12a huge mindset shift as well as a
  287. 10:14behavior shift that not everyone can do
  288. 10:17overnight. It's something that really
  289. 10:19takes a lot of time. I've been doing
  290. 10:20YouTube for almost 5 years, 4 years, and
  291. 10:23I'm still trying to change slowly. I'm
  292. 10:25still not the ideal person that I am.
  293. 10:28I'm still until now pursuing an ideal
  294. 10:30version of myself. And the thing is, you
  295. 10:32really need a good reason to why you're
  296. 10:34doing this. If your if your main reason
  297. 10:36is just, oh,
  298. 10:37>> I want to come back with muscles and
  299. 10:39impress the ladies and show my
  300. 10:41classmates I'm going to get high grades,
  301. 10:43like that's really a it's okay. It's an
  302. 10:45okay reason, but they're not great deep
  303. 10:49reasons. Like, why do you want to do
  304. 10:51these things? What about it do you value
  305. 10:52in life that makes you want to push
  306. 10:54yourself to change? Now, approaching the
  307. 10:57end of the video, you might be thinking,
  308. 10:58>> is literally your advice just do the
  309. 11:01thing?
  310. 11:01>> And yes, that's literally my advice. It
  311. 11:04is not that complicated. Changing
  312. 11:06yourself, setting goals, and going
  313. 11:08through a glow-up isn't as hard as
  314. 11:10people make it seem. The problem is, can
  315. 11:13you really do this for the next 90 days?
  316. 11:15Can you do this for the next year? Like,
  317. 11:17be honest with yourself. Are you willing
  318. 11:19to change for the next year or so, 365
  319. 11:22days? Because the thing is, if you
  320. 11:24actually do the things that matter for
  321. 11:26the next 60 to 90 days consistently, and
  322. 11:28I'm not even talking about just doing
  323. 11:29the same things, but actually pushing
  324. 11:32yourself, you will start to change as a
  325. 11:34person. Trust me, you will. We're
  326. 11:36talking about glowing up here. I'm not
  327. 11:37talking about staying in the same shell.
  328. 11:40You need to have that drive in you. You
  329. 11:42have to have that reason why you want to
  330. 11:44push outside your shell. For example, if
  331. 11:46you want to build muscle, you have to
  332. 11:47push harder and lift harder. If you want
  333. 11:49to get abs, you got to change your diet
  334. 11:52solely every day. If you want to see
  335. 11:54better grades, you just got to shut up
  336. 11:56and study. If you want to be a polymath,
  337. 11:58just stop and do those brilliant
  338. 12:00practice problems. The whole point of
  339. 12:02this video is rather simple. Planning
  340. 12:04alone won't get you anywhere, and you
  341. 12:06can download every app that you want.
  342. 12:08You can fill every spreadsheet. You can
  343. 12:10have a journal or whatever. All those
  344. 12:12things are not doing the thing. If
  345. 12:14you're not doing the actual work,
  346. 12:17nothing will change. Action is the only
  347. 12:20thing that will move you forward. So, I
  348. 12:22hope that's the main takeaway you get
  349. 12:24from this video. Um, if you're curious,
  350. 12:26I highly recommend checking out
  351. 12:27Brilliant. Um, there is a link in the
  352. 12:29description down below and the pin
  353. 12:31comment. You can go to brilliant.org/ky
  354. 12:33notebook. I've been using it for months
  355. 12:34and honestly, it's been so fun exploring
  356. 12:36different fields like science, math,
  357. 12:38computer, science, and I don't know, it
  358. 12:40just makes learning so fun and I
  359. 12:42genuinely recommend this. Like, I'm not
  360. 12:43even kidding. I know they sponsored this
  361. 12:45video, but I genuinely recommend
  362. 12:46Brilliant. It's really a fun way to
  363. 12:48learn new concepts. If you want to learn
  364. 12:50Brilliant for free, then go to
  365. 12:51brilliant.org/kyobbook
  366. 12:53again, or you could even scan this QR
  367. 12:55code on the screen right now. Or you
  368. 12:58could just check again in the link in
  369. 12:59the description. Brilliant has also
  370. 13:01given Kynotebook users a 20% off 20% off
  371. 13:05their annual premium subscription, which
