- 0:00What if one staircase template [music]
- 0:02could speed up your stair design
- 0:03decisions and cut shop drawings in half?
- 0:06As an interior designer, you know that
- 0:07staircases are more than just
- 0:08circulation. They are architectural
- 0:10moments, but they're also where an
- 0:12incredible amount of design time [music]
- 0:14disappears. From straight runs and
- 0:16switchback stairs to floating treads,
- 0:18curved profiles, railings, nosings, and
- 0:21custom details, many of us end up
- 0:23redrawing the same stair logic over and
- 0:25over, just slightly adjusted for each
- 0:27space.
- 0:30In this tutorial, you will learn how to
- 0:32build a smarter, more efficient
- 0:34staircase design workflow by turning
- 0:36your stair drawings into [music]
- 0:37reusable, adaptable design assets. We
- 0:40are going to focus on creating flexible
- 0:42stair templates, building CAD blocks for
- 0:44treads, risers, stringers, handrails,
- 0:47and guard rails, and setting up detail
- 0:49libraries that can be quickly customized
- 0:51so your expertise can compound with
- 0:52every project instead of starting from
- 0:54scratch. Today I'll be demonstrating
- 0:56this workflow using Rayon Design where
- 0:58we will go step by step through
- 0:59importing DWG drawing, laying out stair
- 1:02geometry, [music] designing custom stair
- 1:04details, developing railing and joinery
- 1:07conditions, applying materials and
- 1:09finishes, and organizing everything into
- 1:12a clear presentation and construction
- 1:14documentation set [music] all in one
- 1:16place. You can go ahead and create a
- 1:17free rayon account using the link below
- 1:19in the description to follow along and
- 1:21access some ready-made stair templates
- 1:23and detail libraries that I'm going to
- 1:24be using throughout this tutorial. Now,
- 1:26let's get started. [music] Now, to show
- 1:28you my staircase design template and why
- 1:30it's so efficient, let's go through a
- 1:32realistic step-by-step [music] process.
- 1:34So, typically every staircase drawing
- 1:36starts with a space fit of your given
- 1:39project. [music] This means you will
- 1:40start by importing a DWG file, edit and
- 1:43redesign it, and then start [music]
- 1:45working on staircase design and shop
- 1:46drawings. So, let's go ahead and import
- 1:48our DWG file. So, [music] in the I'm
- 1:51just in a blank model here in Rayon. I'm
- 1:53going to go to my menu up here and go to
- 1:55[music] import DWG.
- 1:57We will search for our DWG file, which
- 1:59is right here, and hit open. Now, it's
- 2:02going to ask you a couple questions
- 2:03about layers. I'm just going to import
- 2:05the default and say import. [music] And
- 2:08then this is what uh it's going to look
- 2:10like. Now, when it comes in, it's going
- 2:12to ask you to define um a measurement,
- 2:14right? So, we want to make sure this
- 2:16thing's to [music] scale. Typically,
- 2:17you'll select something that you know
- 2:18the measurement of. Um I usually just do
- 2:21like a door opening. So, I'm just going
- 2:23[music] to select two points. And down
- 2:24below, it's going to ask me um you know,
- 2:27if this measurement looks right. Now,
- 2:30[music]
- 2:30this is saying it's basically 3/4 of a
- 2:32meter, which is correct. Uh if that
- 2:34doesn't look correct to you, you can
- 2:35always change the units. Uh, [music] so
- 2:37you know if it's millimeters or
- 2:39something centimeters, feet, whatever,
- 2:42um, you can change that there. But it's
- 2:44detecting meters and that looks right to
- 2:46me. So I'm going to say continue.
- 2:47[music] And then we'll pick an insertion
- 2:49point and just click. And then it will
- 2:51drop it in for us. And then if I go take
- 2:53my dimension tool and dimension that
- 2:55opening that we just looked at. [music]
- 2:57Um, 2T 5 in, that's 3/4 of a meter. So
- 3:00that is correct. Um, I just like to
- 3:03double check that real quick before I
- 3:04start drawing because we want to make
- 3:05sure that everything is to scale. In
- 3:08this example today, I'm going to be
- 3:09showing this small cafe design project.
- 3:11[music]
- 3:12Um, where we're just going to test fit a
- 3:14few different staircase types to see
- 3:15what is the most space efficient option.
- 3:18Now, you can see that with this CAD file
- 3:20that we brought in, [music] um, it
- 3:22brought in and inherited all of the
- 3:24layers and the blocks [music] uh, from
- 3:26the file. So, so you can see here it
- 3:29even brought in some of the hatch work,
- 3:31which I'm actually just going to go
- 3:32ahead and delete. We can also just hide
- 3:33it in our [music] layers panel, but um
- 3:35I'm going to get rid of that for now.
- 3:36But you can see that everything that's
- 3:38brought in is kind of just like line
- 3:39work at this point. So, [music] my
- 3:42preference is to actually retrace uh the
- 3:45CAD line [music] work and blocks uh with
- 3:48rayon walls. So, in order to do that,
- 3:50I'm going to just actually window over
- 3:52everything, right click, and lock. So
- 3:54that way when I add in my rayon walls,
- 3:56it's not going to affect any of this
- 3:57other stuff. And then first thing we
- 3:59want to do is go into our layers and
- 4:01create a new layer, which I'll call
- 4:03[music] rayon walls. You can be be more
- 4:06specific. You could say like existing
- 4:08walls or demo walls. Uh that kind of
- 4:10thing. But [music]
- 4:12uh let me just show you how you can
- 4:13actually start retracing this. Uh and
- 4:15specifically, I want to show you [music]
- 4:16these interior walls, which we're going
- 4:18to end up demoing. So I'm going to just
- 4:21grab my wall tool down here and [music]
- 4:23start tracing. And you can see that it
- 4:24actually kind of like snaps to the
- 4:26walls. So, I'm just going to click and
- 4:28[music] just start tracing. We can
- 4:30easily move these, so I don't really
- 4:31have to worry too much about it. But
- 4:33once you kind of like trace the walls
- 4:35that you want, you'll just hit [music]
- 4:36enter. And then, uh, I'm going to go
- 4:39select one of these walls and just kind
- 4:41of make it match up with our um,
- 4:43existing walls from our [music] floor
- 4:45plan.
- 4:46And let's add in one more wall right
- 4:49here
- 4:50that we want to connect [music]
- 4:53to our wall here.
- 4:57Hit done. [music]
- 4:58And then we can just kind of like move
- 4:59that up to connect to our rayon wall. So
- 5:02now what we've got here is these kind of
- 5:04walls that are going to be indicating uh
- 5:06demolition. [music] So I want to stylize
- 5:09these to indicate the demolition. And
- 5:11now to be clear, you can also, if you
- 5:14want to go through the process of
- 5:16retracing all of the exterior walls as
- 5:18well. For just this tutorial, I'm just
- 5:20going to show you kind of how to retrace
- 5:21these interior walls and stylize them to
- 5:23show them as demo. And then I'll show
- 5:25you what kind of like a complete
- 5:26>> [music]
- 5:27>> uh retraceed product can look like here
- 5:28in a second. So for demo walls, we're
- 5:31probably going to show uh something
- 5:34maybe in red or maybe something hatched
- 5:36[music] or maybe both. So, in order to
- 5:38change the style of these walls, which
- 5:39are just kind of like [music] plain
- 5:41white right now, over here under styles,
- 5:43what I can do is I can not only change
- 5:45the thickness, but I can also change the
- 5:47fill. So, let's say we want to uh let's
- 5:52say we want [music] to do it red. And
- 5:53then we want to also add in um let's say
- 5:56well, I guess we want to just add in a
- 5:58hatch here. So, we'll just choose one of
- 6:01these hatches that looks like a good
- 6:03demo. [music] So, maybe like those. And
- 6:06then actually this is where we'll change
- 6:07it to red. So now we can see that there
- 6:10is a red hatch applied [music] and
- 6:12that's going to indicate that that's a
- 6:14demo wall. Now all these other walls
- 6:16that I drew are also going to be demo
- 6:17walls. In order to uh apply that change
- 6:20as well, what we can do is go back to
- 6:22that demo wall that we just drew. We're
- 6:24going to hit the plus sign and save that
- 6:26as a style. So I'm going to save that as
- 6:27demo. [music] And then now what we can
- 6:30do is we can easily access that style or
- 6:33uh we can just click on the wall that we
- 6:35want to change and grab our eyropper
- 6:37tool and then just select [music]
- 6:38whichever style we want to match. So I'm
- 6:40going to hold down my shift key for both
- 6:42of these and then just ey drop that and
- 6:45[music] it's going to change all of my
- 6:46walls to match those. Now, the cool
- 6:49thing is that if you do go um edit that
- 6:51style over here, if [music] we edit the
- 6:54style and let's say we, you know, change
- 6:56those to six inches or something, um it
- 6:58changes all of those. So, let me do
- 6:59something a little bit more dramatic
- 7:00[music] like 12 in. And you can see that
- 7:03it's changing all of those. So, anything
- 7:05that has that style applied to it um
- 7:07will [music] change. Now, if you're
- 7:09going to be doing the exterior walls,
- 7:11maybe those are going I mean, obviously
- 7:13those are going to be their own [music]
- 7:14style. You can always like, you know,
- 7:16match the same kind of style that you
- 7:17had from the CAD drawing or just
- 7:19complete completely draw something new.
- 7:21But the nice thing about drawing it on
- 7:22new layers is [music] that you can
- 7:24always uh go back and hide your import.
- 7:27And then like now we just have our
- 7:28[music] rayon walls. So it's nice to
- 7:30just kind of keep those visible while
- 7:32you're tracing. But that is kind of how
- 7:34you can [music] simply retrace and
- 7:36stylize some of these like demolition
- 7:38and construction walls to kind of show
- 7:41uh the process here. So, let me show you
- 7:44what this could look like once [music]
- 7:46you go through the process of retracing
- 7:48everything. So, here is what the
- 7:50demolition plan looks like after um a
- 7:53bit of restylizing, retracing, and you
- 7:56can see that we've got some styles
- 7:58applied to the walls. You can clearly
- 8:00[music] see which walls are demoed. And
- 8:03then over here, um, I just kind of have
- 8:05like this nice little blank floor plan
- 8:06that we can work from. Um, that's
- 8:08showing, uh, the walls are demoed and
- 8:11then also any new construction. So,
- 8:13that's kind of what these blue walls are
- 8:14indicating. [music] So, this is kind of
- 8:16where we can, um, start now planning
- 8:19where we want to add in our staircase.
- 8:22Now, if you want any more uh further
- 8:25clarification on how to trace [music]
- 8:27walls or stylize walls or stylize
- 8:30anything else, there are tons of videos
- 8:32on Rayan's YouTube channel um that can
- 8:35guide you through that. [music] Now that
- 8:36we are ready to add in our staircase,
- 8:39we're going to pop into the staircase
- 8:41design [music] template um that's going
- 8:43to have all of our lovely staircase
- 8:46designs uh [music] pre-made for us that
- 8:48we can either just copy paste or um even
- 8:51edit. So, [music]
- 8:53into the staircase design template, this
- 8:55is what this should look like. And you
- 8:57can see that we have plenty of different
- 9:00[music] um you know inspiration images
- 9:02along with uh floor plan as well as side
- 9:05views um of these staircase designs. So
- 9:10instead of you know drawing these from
- 9:12scratch every single time now we can
- 9:14basically just select you [music] know
- 9:16whichever one we want copy that and then
- 9:18bring that into our working file. This
- 9:21is just an example of how you can
- 9:22structure your own process and have your
- 9:25work compound instead [music] of
- 9:26starting from scratch each project.
- 9:28Plus, you're welcome to just use this
- 9:29template uh from that [music] link below
- 9:31in the description uh and apply this to
- 9:34your own projects as [music] well. If we
- 9:36zoom into some of these, we've got some
- 9:38very standard layouts. Um, you know,
- 9:41just like typical L-shape, U-shape, as
- 9:44well as um [music] these nice round uh
- 9:48curvy uh more intricate uh staircases.
- 9:52And again, like I said, they're very uh
- 9:55drag and drop, copy, [music] paste. So,
- 9:57this is all just pro work from previous
- 10:00projects that um [music] I've worked on
- 10:02that is just ready to be used and
- 10:04adjusted easily without having to start
- 10:06from scratch. So, basically in any past
- 10:08projects [music] where I've used um a
- 10:10staircase or detailed a staircase uh
- 10:13that I, you know, maybe want to use on a
- 10:15future project, I just copy and paste
- 10:16that here into my template that I can
- 10:18[music] easily access for future
- 10:19projects. And then that way I don't have
- 10:20to start from scratch every time. Now,
- 10:22of course, every [music] staircase
- 10:24design needs to be tailored to a space's
- 10:26size, height, and slope. So, these are
- 10:28just a handy uh design benchmark [music]
- 10:31starting point, but they're still
- 10:33probably going to require some adjusting
- 10:34and redrawing for [music] each each
- 10:35project. It's just nice so you don't
- 10:37have to start from scratch each time.
- 10:39So, let's go ahead and start uh testing
- 10:40a couple of staircase [music] types in
- 10:42our current uh design. Because this is
- 10:45just like an open cafe space, [music]
- 10:46maybe we want something more of like a
- 10:48curved staircase, something a little bit
- 10:49more sculptural, more like an
- 10:51architectural moment. [music] Um, so if
- 10:53we go back into our staircase template,
- 10:55let's go see if we can find
- 10:56>> [music]
- 10:57>> um just something nice and curvy. So I'm
- 11:00eyeballing this one down here, [music]
- 11:02which might be a little bit too big, but
- 11:04let's go ahead and copy it uh just for
- 11:06fun and go see if [music] that works. So
- 11:08I'm going to again rightclick, copy as
- 11:10export, go in here, and then we'll just
- 11:12paste it. And as I had imagined, uh,
- 11:15that's a little bit too large for our
- 11:16space. [music] So, we'll just delete
- 11:18that one and just go check out that
- 11:20other curvy staircase here and see if
- 11:23that one will fit. You can see that
- 11:25these are numbered. So, [music] stair 1
- 11:262 3 4 5 6 7 8. And then this is the top
- 11:29part of it. So, I'm going to grab the
- 11:30bottom part cuz [music] we're working on
- 11:31the first floor right now. So, let's say
- 11:33copy as export. Go back to our model.
- 11:36Paste that in here. Looks like that will
- 11:39definitely fit in our space. And I think
- 11:40we'll just kind of plop that right over
- 11:42here. Um, now you can see that [music]
- 11:44this also brought in uh, you know, like
- 11:47a wall that I don't want and maybe some
- 11:49detail lines that you don't uh, [music]
- 11:51necessarily want. So, you can easily
- 11:53just clean that up. I usually
- 11:56will clean up most of the dimensions.
- 11:58Uh, cuz I don't I don't really need that
- 12:00on this floor plan. You might need that
- 12:01on more of like a detailed floor plan,
- 12:03but this one in particular, I do not.
- 12:05Let's just go ahead and place that right
- 12:06there. And um that's going to be like
- 12:09our our staircase moment. I also I'm
- 12:11going to just go ahead and group [music]
- 12:12this. So I'm going to rightclick group.
- 12:13And that way I can easily move that
- 12:15around without it um losing any pieces.
- 12:18Now this if this is our other level,
- 12:21let's go ahead and uh [music]
- 12:24copy paste the second half of it that
- 12:26will show up in the other half of
- 12:28[music] the height of the space. So back
- 12:30to our template. Let's go grab this
- 12:32piece that has the rest of the stairs.
- 12:34Same situation. We're just going to copy
- 12:36[music] as export. Go back to our model.
- 12:39Paste.
- 12:40And then I'm going to delete some of
- 12:43these details that I don't necessarily
- 12:45need. Get rid of that. [music] All these
- 12:48dimensions I don't necessarily want. And
- 12:51I'm going to rightclick or sorry, I'm
- 12:53going to window and group. And then uh
- 12:56we'll place it right [music] over here.
- 12:58So you can see that um this is kind of
- 13:00telling the story of uh [music] right
- 13:03here on the first floor. This is where
- 13:04our staircase starts. And then up here,
- 13:06this is where it continues. [music] Now,
- 13:08when drawing staircase shop drawings,
- 13:10it's also worth noting that Rayon um
- 13:13also has a bunch of [music] staircase
- 13:14CAD blocks directly in its library um
- 13:16that has over 10,000 blocks [music] in
- 13:18top, front, and side view for sections
- 13:20and elevations alongside parametric
- 13:23blocks. Um and we even have AI block
- 13:25generator uh which I'll show you here in
- 13:27a [music] second. So, in order to access
- 13:29those CAD blocks, uh let's go ahead and
- 13:31go to the block library. So over here,
- 13:33I'm just going to click on blocks.
- 13:35[music] And we'll go to the libraries
- 13:37here. And you can see that if I go to
- 13:40libraries, it'll show us all these
- 13:41categories [music] of different blocks
- 13:43that are in here. Now, I'm going to look
- 13:45for stairs and [music] escalators. Let's
- 13:48click on that and see what we have. So,
- 13:50again, there are tons of uh really cool
- 13:52already pre-made blocks in here that are
- 13:56just completely accessible, and all you
- 13:57do is just click them, drag them over
- 13:59[music] here, and um it's just going to
- 14:01place it directly. So, all we need to do
- 14:04is just hit open, and then that will
- 14:06open up our top view, and then also the
- 14:08side and front view. So, I can just drag
- 14:10and drop this top view in here again,
- 14:12see if that works. If it does, we also
- 14:14have the side and the front view. And
- 14:17also, if you just want to start building
- 14:19out a template for yourself [music] with
- 14:21staircases or other blocks that you use
- 14:23frequently or like, then that's
- 14:25completely legitimate [music] as well.
- 14:27Now, if I go back over here to our
- 14:30library, I do want to show you that a
- 14:32couple of [music] these uh staircases
- 14:34here are showing this little parametric
- 14:36tag here at [music] the top left, which
- 14:38means that uh those are going to be a
- 14:40little bit different than your standard
- 14:41[music] block. And I particularly like
- 14:43those because uh you can adjust [music]
- 14:46the size of them without just like
- 14:48stretching or compressing the block. And
- 14:50let me just [music] show you what I mean
- 14:51by that. So if you do find a parametric
- 14:54block over here, let's [music] just uh
- 14:56go ahead and
- 14:59we'll bring in just like a typical uh
- 15:01run [music] of stairs. So when you bring
- 15:04that in, this block is going to look a
- 15:06little bit different than [music] other
- 15:07blocks. So, if I select this regular
- 15:10block, you can see that I've got an
- 15:11option to kind of scale [music] it up
- 15:12and down. But on this parametric block,
- 15:15I don't have those corners to scale, but
- 15:17you do see these little arrows. And what
- 15:19that is is that that's actually just
- 15:21[music] chopping off or adding stairs as
- 15:24you go. So, what's nice about that is
- 15:27that it doesn't necessarily stretch
- 15:28[music] it. It just adds to it. So, um,
- 15:31that's really easy for if [music] you,
- 15:34uh, do know that, you know, maybe the
- 15:35height of the space is changing or you
- 15:37want to be able to easily just adjust
- 15:38that. Um, instead of just stretching the
- 15:41staircase, it's actually adding treads
- 15:44[music] as you go. When you're in your
- 15:46blocks, you can add a filter here. Uh,
- 15:48just say plus, uh, is parametric,
- 15:51[music]
- 15:51save, and that's going to show you all
- 15:53of the blocks that are parametric. Just
- 15:55look for this little symbol here in the
- 15:56top left. [music]
- 15:57um you can also search and it will uh
- 16:00maintain that filter as well. [music] So
- 16:02that makes it super easy to find those
- 16:04parametric blocks. Now what's really
- 16:06cool about Rayon is that
- 16:08>> [music]
- 16:08>> um you can actually transform any of
- 16:11your models into a template block or
- 16:13style library by just using the share
- 16:15button up here. [music] So all you need
- 16:17to do is just hit the share button and
- 16:19then um you'll go to [music] either
- 16:22libraries here and publish the styles or
- 16:24the blocks
- 16:25>> [music]
- 16:25>> um from this model. So for instance, say
- 16:28you're building out uh you know this
- 16:30cafe and there are lots of [music]
- 16:32blocks that you end up using that you're
- 16:33like I want to be able to use these on
- 16:35future projects. You can actually
- 16:36publish [music] all of those blocks into
- 16:38a block library that are easily
- 16:39accessible in one place. And then same
- 16:42for styles. So if you do create like
- 16:44that demo wall and then the new
- 16:45construction wall and then [music] the
- 16:46exterior wall and you're like you know
- 16:48what those are going to be really handy
- 16:50for the next project that I'm working on
- 16:52you can just publish those styles and
- 16:53then easily access those [music] on the
- 16:55next projects. Now similarly um under
- 16:58this template [music] uh section here uh
- 17:01you can also publish this model as a
- 17:03template. So, if you want to be able to
- 17:05use [music] uh everything from the
- 17:07model, then you can just, you know,
- 17:09access this entire model again and
- 17:11[music] um use that as your template.
- 17:13Now, let's go ahead and see how it all
- 17:15comes together in the final part where
- 17:16we're going to set up our client [music]
- 17:17presentation. So, heading back over here
- 17:20into our paper canvas, you can see that
- 17:22we do not have any [music] pages set up.
- 17:23So, you can either create a page or copy
- 17:26and paste presentation template that you
- 17:28already have ready. [music] As we have
- 17:30kind of noted here, Rayon is obviously a
- 17:32one-stop shop to go all the way from our
- 17:34concept design to our construction
- 17:35drawings and [music] client
- 17:36presentations. So, what we're going to
- 17:39use the paper canvas for is kind [music]
- 17:41of like the display and the
- 17:42presentation. And then the model canvas
- 17:44is obviously just our working canvas
- 17:46>> [music]
- 17:46>> um where we set up the drawings and then
- 17:48we always have those up to date and
- 17:50those are going to live update in our
- 17:51presentation [music] canvas. So, in our
- 17:53paper canvas, in order to add a sheet,
- 17:55we are just going to click the plus
- 17:57button and add a page. [music] And it
- 17:58will just add a page right on there for
- 18:00you. Now, you can continue that process
- 18:02by [music] adding more pages and just
- 18:04kind of start laying this out. It's
- 18:07again suggested that you use uh any past
- 18:10templates [music] to kind of start
- 18:11building this to make it easier. That
- 18:13way, you kind of have like title blocks
- 18:14ready. You have areas for your mood
- 18:16boards ready for your [music] uh floor
- 18:19plans, all that stuff. So once you start
- 18:21to build this out, this is what your
- 18:23presentation will end up looking like.
- 18:26Just to kind of quickly explain how we
- 18:28got these views onto these presentation
- 18:30canvases, I just delete this view right
- 18:32here. So in order to add a view onto
- 18:35your page, um all we need to do is go to
- 18:37plus [music] view and then I have uh
- 18:40renamed my model canvas. So this is my
- 18:42model canvas that I want and I am
- 18:44looking for my demolition uh floor plan.
- 18:47So, I'm just going to kind of open this
- 18:48up by holding down my shift key. [music]
- 18:51And this is kind of like everything that
- 18:53I've been working on. So, [music] uh
- 18:56once we find our demolition plan, which
- 18:58is right over here, now we can kind of
- 19:01scrunch this back in. And, uh, we're
- 19:04going to need to rescale this so it can
- 19:05fit on our page. [music]
- 19:08And once we get that view over here,
- 19:10I've got all my other views over here at
- 19:12a 1 to 60 [music] scale. So, I'm just
- 19:13going to select this view and change the
- 19:15scale to 1 to 60. [music]
- 19:18Just type it in manually here so that
- 19:21way it fits and matches everything else.
- 19:23And then once [music] you um get it to
- 19:25the right size, then you just kind of
- 19:26place it on your page. And uh now we've
- 19:28got our demo plan [music] right on here.
- 19:30So then you just kind of rinse and
- 19:32repeat that for uh all of your other
- 19:34floor plans, [music] documentation.
- 19:36Again, we have everything kind of
- 19:37working on the same model canvas. Or,
- 19:40you know, you might have them split up.
- 19:41[music] You might have a model canvas
- 19:42for your elevations, a model canvas for
- 19:44your floor plan. Whatever your
- 19:46preference is, [music] using a
- 19:47presentation from either a past project
- 19:49that you've turned into a template, um,
- 19:51or just a past project is the easiest
- 19:53way to kind of get this presentation
- 19:55going. So then that way you have a good
- 19:56starting point. [music] Um, and even
- 19:58though you're going to be adjusting
- 19:59things, it's at least already there for
- 20:01you to start with. So once we get all of
- 20:05this looking the way that we want to,
- 20:07[music] uh, this is kind of like the fun
- 20:08part where you get to export as a
- 20:10presentation. So, we can either export
- 20:13this as a PDF or PNG, which is very
- 20:15typical um in the design world. So, in
- 20:18order to do that, you'll just go up to
- 20:19the main menu here, and we'll just go to
- 20:20export, and you can either export
- 20:22[music] uh the images, either all of
- 20:24them or separately, or export a PDF,
- 20:27either all pages or separately, and that
- 20:29will package it into [music] a nice
- 20:30little PDF. But the real cool thing is
- 20:32that you can actually uh export this as
- 20:34a presentation. So URL link that you
- 20:37don't even have to, you know, take out
- 20:39[music] of the web and just share that
- 20:40directly with your client. So in order
- 20:43to do that, you'll just click this share
- 20:44button and then presentation [music] and
- 20:47then just click this on and then that
- 20:49URL is just what you'll share with your
- 20:51client. [music]
- 20:52So when they open it, this is what it's
- 20:53going to look like.
- 20:56So they can just kind of like arrow
- 20:57through and this is like basically a
- 20:59true presentation. And again, it's very
- 21:00much like a PDF, but it [music] is right
- 21:02in the web, so you never have to leave
- 21:05the web. And then if you make any
- 21:06updates, all you need to do is just
- 21:08refresh the presentation and export a
- 21:10[music] new URL link. Additionally, if
- 21:12you are working with a team, you can
- 21:14easily add team members into your uh
- 21:17project. In order to do that, all you
- 21:19need to do is again in that share
- 21:20button, just invite them with their
- 21:22email and you can make them an editor,
- 21:23admin, or just a viewer. And then you'll
- 21:25just invite them and then they'll have
- 21:27[music] access to be able to collaborate
- 21:29in real time. And that's the full
- 21:31workflow [music] from base plan to
- 21:33staircase design, shop drawings, and
- 21:35client ready presentations. The big
- 21:37takeaway is this. [music] When you stop
- 21:39redrawing staircases from scratch and
- 21:41start working with templates, blocks,
- 21:43and detail libraries, your work
- 21:45compounds, which means your design
- 21:47decisions get faster, your drawings
- 21:49[music] get clearer, and your
- 21:51documentation becomes far more
- 21:52efficient. If you want to try this
- 21:54workflow yourself and use the staircase
- 21:55design template that I showed today,
- 21:57[music]
- 21:57you can go ahead and start by creating a
- 21:59free rayon account using the link in the
- 22:01description below. Thanks for watching
- 22:02and I will see you [music] in the next
- 22:04tutorial.
