How to Create a Course in Skool - Step-by-Step Tutorial for Beginners — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Hi guys, Mits here. I'm just going to
- 0:02make a really quick video on how to
- 0:06create a course in school. So, first
- 0:11thing you want to do is when you're
- 0:13signed in and you're on your uh page, it
- 0:19drops you straight onto your page. Now,
- 0:21I've already got stuff in mine, but it
- 0:24doesn't matter because I'm going to show
- 0:25you what to do. So, first thing when
- 0:28we're in our um course that we've
- 0:30created, the sovereign living project,
- 0:33go to classroom.
- 0:36Now, these are the courses that I have,
- 0:38but you will see a blank page with just
- 0:42this and it says new course. Now, what I
- 0:45want you to do is click on that. Now,
- 0:48what you want to do here is put in the
- 0:50course name. Now I put so I have a
- 0:54deprogramming course for humans. So I
- 0:57put deprogramming 101. Then I put a
- 1:00description here. Now in this one, this
- 1:04is the interesting one here.
- 1:07You can make it open. So just say this
- 1:10is your free course. So you may as well
- 1:12make it open. Okay. You can have level
- 1:14unlock and you press on that and you
- 1:16choose a level. Now those levels are the
- 1:20where they comment and they get levels.
- 1:23So people have to go and interact before
- 1:26they can unlock it. So let's just say
- 1:30that it's your free course. So you're
- 1:32going to go with the open part. Another
- 1:34little trick that I'm just going to
- 1:36quickly add in that I learned off school
- 1:39of someone on school is to make other
- 1:42ones time unlock. not all your normal
- 1:46courses, but you can put some tempting
- 1:48bonuses and make them a time unlock. If
- 1:52you want to make it private, you can.
- 1:55And um you can just give that away to
- 2:00special members. So the way you do that
- 2:03is you can go to the member section, go
- 2:06to that member and let them have access
- 2:11to the private course. So, there's a few
- 2:14little great little things here. There's
- 2:16even a buy it now one where you can just
- 2:18have a course um where they can just if
- 2:22they want to if they want it, they need
- 2:24to buy it now. So, it's basically a
- 2:26sales page in there as well. So, with
- 2:30this time unlock thing, you can choose,
- 2:32you know, 7 days. I I did one 7 days, 14
- 2:36days, and 21 days. So, even the free
- 2:40people get access to those three extra
- 2:44things if they stay longer. All right.
- 2:47Now, upload a cover image.
- 2:51I'll actually I'll explain this one here
- 2:53as well. So, with my standard one, it's
- 2:57free. So, if this was a free course and
- 3:00it was open, then it would be open.
- 3:04Okay? But if it's a level unlock, you
- 3:09can just say level one cuz most people
- 3:11still on level one all the time. Um, if
- 3:15you use this, you can choose premium or
- 3:18VIP. Now, this is the paid section here.
- 3:23So, I would personally choose um
- 3:30uh private,
- 3:32right? and then go here and choose
- 3:36premium. Now, this one is going to be a
- 3:39paid one, but they have to go to tier
- 3:41two to access it. So, if you've got a
- 3:46VIP section, you can do the same thing
- 3:49here.
- 3:51Okay, so I hope that explains a couple
- 3:53of things here. If you've got any
- 3:55questions,
- 3:57just uh ask them in the comment section
- 4:00now. Okay. [clears throat] So, we've got
- 4:02an image. Um, we've chose one of these
- 4:06here. So, I'm just going to go for open.
- 4:09We've got a name and a description.
- 4:12Okay. So, I'm just going to press cancel
- 4:14on this. Now, also down here, just take
- 4:17note of that button there. It's either
- 4:19draft or published. Now, it starts with
- 4:22published. So, if you've got a
- 4:25halfpublished
- 4:26course in there, people are going to see
- 4:28it. So if you haven't finished, just
- 4:32keep an eye on what you're doing here.
- 4:33But I'll show you another way. So cancel
- 4:36that. So just say we got a new course.
- 4:39Now I am going into one of mine because
- 4:41I'm actually filling it out as we go.
- 4:45What I've done here. I'm going to
- 4:46collapse these. Now what these are is
- 4:50I've gone I've gone up to the top here.
- 4:52This is the name that I put in when I
- 4:54built it just earlier. So then I went
- 4:59here to these three little dots and went
- 5:02add a page
- 5:04or a folder. Now in this case where I've
- 5:07got these nice ones here that I call
- 5:09modules,
- 5:11I added a folder. Okay? And then you put
- 5:14the name in and you press add. Now
- 5:17that's how I got these nice names in
- 5:19here. So then I went to the name
- 5:23selfdoubt, clicked on that, those three
- 5:26dots and said add a page in the folder.
- 5:31Now this is what it looks like when you
- 5:33have the pages in the folder like that.
- 5:38Now I went and added them. Now I'm going
- 5:40to quickly show one. Add a page. Right,
- 5:44it's going to show me the new page down
- 5:46here. Now I'm going to click on the dots
- 5:48and say edit the page.
- 5:52And now I can This is my new page. And
- 5:59now let me move away. We're going to
- 6:02press save.
- 6:06Now I have the new page down here. Now I
- 6:09don't like that page. So I can also go
- 6:12and say delete. I can duplicate it. I
- 6:17can change the folder or revert it to a
- 6:20draft because it's not ready to be seen.
- 6:23Okay, it's empty. Revert it to a draft.
- 6:27So, at this point, I'm just going to
- 6:28delete it. All right. So, now you know
- 6:31how to make the modules and the pages.
- 6:35Now, I'm going to go into a page and
- 6:39show you what we could do. So, there's
- 6:42nothing filled out in here. So, here it
- 6:44is. And what I'm going to do is press on
- 6:47edit, which is that little pencil there.
- 6:50Now, this is it here. So, what you've
- 6:52got to do is put your content in here.
- 6:56Okay. Now, it's got the normal thing,
- 6:59you know, heading one, heading two, and
- 7:01all that, you know, bullet points,
- 7:04quotes. This one here is to add an
- 7:07image. This one is to make a link. Now,
- 7:12let's make a link. So you select the
- 7:15text that you want to make the link
- 7:17text,
- 7:20go to the link button, and then paste
- 7:23the URL in there. So let me get an a a
- 7:27URL. Okay, a URL is just um in the top
- 7:33bar here. So I'm on this page. This is
- 7:36the classroom. So it's going to give me
- 7:38the classroom URL.
- 7:41And I'm going back. I'm going to paste
- 7:44it in there. Right now, this link will
- 7:49go to my classroom. So, we added a link.
- 7:52We can add a video. Okay. So, let's see.
- 7:57Here it is. Here. Press on this. You can
- 8:00add a YouTube link in here or you can
- 8:04upload it. Okay. So, let's just press on
- 8:07this and we'll grab a video.
- 8:18Right. So now my video is uploading to
- 8:22my page. Now look at that. It could fill
- 8:24the whole thing up and that could be the
- 8:26course. Now let's go down the bottom. So
- 8:30we've got a video. You can write your
- 8:32content. You can make a link. So down
- 8:35here we can add a resource link. Add
- 8:39resource file, add a transcript, or pin
- 8:44community post. So, I didn't I didn't
- 8:47see that one. That one's interesting.
- 8:48Pin a community post, which might relate
- 8:51to this, which is actually great. Okay,
- 8:56this school keeps coming up with new
- 8:58ideas. I love it. So,
- 9:02add a add a resource file. That's the
- 9:06one I use the most. Now, what I add on
- 9:09that, I have an audio um transcript
- 9:13where people can just listen to the
- 9:16lesson. Um I have a downloadable
- 9:20worksheet or PDF. Um I might have if
- 9:24it's a written lesson, I might have the
- 9:26lesson there so they can just print it
- 9:28out. Now, there's a lot of options here,
- 9:31okay, to add things to. Now, another
- 9:35little tip that I think is really handy
- 9:37is if you click on Oops, accidentally
- 9:40went into it, just click on these three
- 9:44dots here
- 9:46and go down to view as member.
- 9:50Okay, so now we can see if a member
- 9:53comes in which courses they get to see.
- 9:58Now the deprogramming one's free. I've
- 10:01got this one to unlock in seven days.
- 10:04This one's comes with it. It's free. And
- 10:06then I've got these ones down here. Now,
- 10:10let me show you something tricky. When I
- 10:12clicked on that, this came up and it
- 10:16says view as a member. You can choose
- 10:19the tiers. So, let's have a look at
- 10:22this. At the moment, we're on a standard
- 10:24tier. So, the person is on a free
- 10:26program. Now, if you pay, all these
- 10:30locks come off
- 10:33except for these ones that are VIP.
- 10:36Okay, then you can go to the VIP section
- 10:40and all the locks would be off. Okay, so
- 10:44let's have a look at this. Let's have a
- 10:47look at the standard tier, but go in
- 10:50here. This is what they see when they
- 10:52come into this course.
- 10:56Okay,
- 10:58now go back out to the classroom.
- 11:03Now, this is just a free course that I'm
- 11:05giving away right now. Okay, now this is
- 11:09about deprogramming yourself. Now, I
- 11:11just want to show you one that's pretty
- 11:14interesting. Now, as you know, I'm
- 11:17really into computers, but I have
- 11:20stepped into another section of human
- 11:23deprogramming,
- 11:25which is
- 11:28very fascinating. This is one of my
- 11:30favorite lessons here, the path of least
- 11:33resistance.
- 11:35And uh I was quite shocked when I
- 11:38checked that one out and realized that
- 11:42the body is always going for the path of
- 11:45least resistance.
- 11:48I hope that helped you build a course. I
- 11:52know it took me a little while to work
- 11:54out the a couple of little things.
- 11:57So, oh actually if you want to take this
- 12:01off, all you have to do, so if you want
- 12:05to remove the member view, all you have
- 12:08to do is press the cross. And now I'm
- 12:10just here looking at my courses again.
- 12:15I've still got that other course
- 12:17downloading and it's nearly ready.
- 12:24That it did take a long time.
- 12:28I think it's a fairly uh decent video.
- 12:31Probably could be 10 minutes.
- 12:36Oh no. [laughter]
- 12:39[gasps]
- 12:40Anyway, there's the video and I'm in the
- 12:42middle of explaining something. So, you
- 12:46know, I use my hands a lot. One thing
- 12:48that you must do is when you have put
- 12:50content there, press save. Okay? Because
- 12:53if you move away from the page, it won't
- 12:55be saved. Another thing is that it has a
- 12:59drip system in here if you want. It says
- 13:02drip status is off. Now, let's turn the
- 13:05drip status on. And it says release the
- 13:09page so many days after a member joins.
- 13:13So, you can go through your course and
- 13:16do the drip status if you want. I
- 13:19haven't done that with my free course.
- 13:21I've just let it go at the moment. All
- 13:23right. I hope those little tips helped
- 13:26you and thanks for watching. And if you
- 13:29want to come and see my free course that
- 13:31I do have here, it is called the
- 13:35deprogramming 101 and it's very
- 13:38interesting.
- 13:40Even if you think you've gone and
- 13:42cleared out all your old shadows and
- 13:44stuff, might find something in there
- 13:46that make you aware of some kind of
- 13:49programming that you might be able to
- 13:50get rid of. All right, thanks for
- 13:52watching.
